At point of collision, neither air bags deployed and seat belt did not work effectively to restrain my adolescent son.if the seat belt had restrained him properly and the air bag had indeed deployed; his teeth marks would not have been embedded into the dash.i firmly believe he and myself would not have suffered the amount of injuries if the mechanisms had worked properly.i had a head injury and whiplash, also.
The back seat belt behind the drivers seat did not lock up like it was suppose to on impacted, and my cousin hit the back of my seat and blacked out. Also, we hit head on to another car and the only airbag that went off was the drivers side and my husband was in the passenger seat. Luckily his seat belt locked up or he would have hit the windshield.
We broad sided a car that pulled out in front of us at about 40mph, the driver side airbag deployed but the passenger side did not. Luckily the seat belt saved me from going through the windshield, however had the airbag deployed like it was suppose to i wouldn't be on temporary disability and in the most pain i have ever experienced in my life. Major chest contusions, massive bruising across the chest and abdomen for weeks, strained back and neck and therapy for weeks are just a part of what i got to experience. Not to mention a lovely trip to the er because i had trouble breathing at the time of the accident.

The 2010 chevrolet aveo worked fine on 8/13/14. Drove it all day long with no issues, parked it while shopping for 1 hour. Car did not start when i came out to leave. Paid $125 get it towed to nightingale's auto tech & repair (12331 31 mile rd, romeo, mi 48065.586-752-4514) approx 18 miles away, on 8/14/14. Nightingale's found blown 2amp ignition fuse (under hood) charged us $79.18 & told us to take it to the dealership because they did not have the ability to fix it any further (on 8/15/14).we drove it to buy 2 amp fuses at a auto parts store 1 block away in case it happened again, which it did & we replaced the 2amp fuse again. We drove the car straight to the heidebreicht dealership a couple miles away & the fuse blew again trying to get it into the dealership service dept., on 8/15/14. Today is 8/26/14, and the car is stillat heidebreict's service dept, they do not know what the problem is. The service rep, [xxx], has told us over several phone calls that they couldn't find the problem & had to to call gm for consult.chris c. Told me that gm recommended the tech should install 4 separate fuses just to troubleshoot, & i had to pay for that to find the problem. At this point, gm & the tech determined that the digital instrument panel was bad& the dealership ordered a new one. The dealership told me that my cost so far would be over $1360. They tried the new instrument panel& it did not correct the problem (fuses still blowing).on 8/26/14, heidebreicht's told me that gm told them to order another instrument panel & if that didn't work, then gm was going to send their engineers out to help them fix the problem. Our car has been down for this problem for 13 days now & there is no resolution yet, even from gm engineers. Are there any recalls, tsb's or anything on file for this issue? is it related to the huge ignition switch recall?.gm should pay for this!!!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I was driving on the highway when the engine light came on. The vehicle ran for a few minutes before it started losing power and chugging along on the highway.when i pulled off, i had to flutter on the gas to keep the car from stalling at the stop sign. Reflashed ecm code s47490d.performed campaign 11290 spark plugs and boot.while at dealership, tech found rear shocks were leaking. E5807 - rear shock absorbers replaced, both sides.

We have had numerous problems with the battery not staying charged.we would get ready to drive it and we would need to get a jump start.it got to the point where we considered buying a portable charger so we wouldn't have to wait for roadside assistance.in the last incident, i was driving and all of the lights illuminated at once. The power steering stopped working and then the car stopped.as we were waiting for a tow truck, a mechanic who was driving by looked under the hood and discovered that our serpentine belt and another belt had broken.we took it to a mechanic and were told that there was engine damage and the head gasket needed to be replaced and possibly the whole engine.also, we have had to replace the tires numerous times for no apparent reason. They keep going flat.according to a consumer affairs website, these issues seem to be common with aveo owners.http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/chevy_aveo.html.

I went to start the car and it was completely dead, the lights worked and the "door ajar" light worked also, i had the car towed to a shop where i was told it was the ignition switch.a new one was put in, i paid $553 took the car and ran errands.after leaving the car not running for about 1-1/2 hours i went to start it and the same thing happened.car was towed back to shop where mechanic called chevy dealer and they told him since it was an aftermarket part, it wasn't compatible.he ordered a gm/chevy ignition switch and replaced my battery too. I picked the car up today, ran errands but left the car running. As soon as i came home i turned the car off and went to restart it and the same thing happened.i called the shop and the owner came here and opened the hood and showed me that the fuse blew, when going to put a new fuse in, it started sparking.this is a safety hazard as it is going to wind up causing a fire because there is obviously some sort of short in the wiring.i called gm/chevy and conveniently as of 2010 models it is only covered under the bumper to bumper warranty so they will not do anything.i think they know that this is a malfunction on their vehicles but they won't do anything about it. Please help
Driving 45 mph car suddently shuts off coast to side of highway very dificult to steer waited 5 to 10 minutes restarted car and drove home.

My vehicle would not start on a trip to florida and my boyfriend and i had to push start it all the way back to ohio. As soon as we got back i got back i got the clutch switch repaired which was $300. Then i went on a second trip to florida in july and once i arrived i got in my car to go somewhere and it would not start yet again. I took it to a repair shop where they could not find them problem yet still charged me $220 because it just started randomly. As soon as i took it back to the place i was staying in florida and turned it off, i tried to start it again and it would not. My sister and i push started it and i took it to a chevy dealer repair place and they informed me the clutch switch needed programmed and i paid $90 for that. The car was finally starting smoothly again until 10/27/2014 when again the car would not start. I took it to the chevy dealership o bought it at and they informed me that i i needed a new ignition switch and that it would cost $315. I am tired of this car i have only had it for four years and it only has 65000 miles on it. This has been a continuing problem and she be included in the ignition recall because it was obviously a faulty part. Because of the problems i have had with this car i will never by chevy or gm for that matter ever again.
Upon approaching a red light, i began slowing down and immediately the car started sputtering and once at a complete stop, the car rapidly vibrated for 5 seconds and then completely shut down. I waited a few seconds to try and restart and was able to make it home. This issue has been going on in different severities over the course of the past 7 months, dating back to october 2013. At other times the vehicle will begin decelerating while my foot is on the accelerator. The car will be unresponsive to any attempts to pick up speed for 3-5 seconds then all of sudden kick into gear and drive like normal. This happens at highway speeds and residential neighbor speeds just the same. I've had the fuel system cleaned, taken to 2 chevy dealerships in different cities and neither was able to come up with a reason as to why the car does this. The most recent trip came after the car died while at the red light. There's no check engine light, codes showing up on the scanner, and no problem with the fuel pump according to the dealers.

While accelerating from a stop at a traffic light i reached approx 20mph.at this point, the throttle ceased to respond.i had to coast to the side of road.i put the car in park and let it idle.even in park, the throttle was unresponsive for a while.finally i was able to give it some gas and it idled up to 2200 rpm and stayed there.it wouldn't back down.i couldn't get the car out of park.after several minutes, i turned the car off, waited a while, turned it back on and it was like nothing happened.check engine light is on.this same thing happened the following afternoon after having let the car warm up and after having accelerated to 45mph with no issue.i pulled over and put the car in neutral that time.car has been maintained well, not sure what's going on.

To "echo" this complaint: upon approaching a red light, i began slowing down and immediately the car started sputtering and once at a complete stop, the car rapidly vibrated for 5 seconds and then completely shut down. I was on my way to work when the 2010 aveo lost all engine power. I made it to a gas station (the car is still there) and called my wife to come get me. Thank god we just purchased a nissan sentra just 2 days earlier!!!!!!!!
I was driving and the car slowed down in traffic. It then started to buck then die out! when i started it up again, it started and drove for a short period and died out again in traffic! i have had two or three o2 sensors replaced, even in the first year of ownership,, new off the lot. This vehicle has had the signal switch replaced, the clock went out two years ago, and now it loses power in traffic. This is proving go be a very dangerous vehicle and i hope no one has to die before something is done to remedy the situation!

2010 chevrolet aveo.consumer writesin regards to a faulty radiator and unsatisfactory customer service at dealership.the consumer stated in september 2013, he started experiencing problems with the cooling system, where the temperature gauge would start to climb above the halfway point. Thinking it was just loss of coolant, he added more to the reservoir, but to no avail. He decided to take the vehicle to the dealer and it was determined a radiator part was faulty. The radiator and thermostat were replaced at a cost of $1,000. It took a week and a half, before the vehicle was returned to the consumer. Tow months later, while driving, the check engine light illuminated, when he arrived to his destination, he exited the vehicle, but didn't find anything ut of the ordinary, he resealed the gas cap, because he knew sometimes, that could cause the engine light to illuminated. However, later on when he tried to drive home, the vehicle would not shift gears or go over 40 mph. The consumer took the vehicle to a friend, who was a mechanic. An inspection revealed it was a transmission problem related to the installation of the radiator two months earlier. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the repair was made, under the power train warranty. Four days after getting the back, the consumer noticed a hose was hanging from underneath the vehicle. The consumer called his mechanic friend again, where he discovered the technician at the dealer, did not re-attach the transmission to the radiator.the vehicle was towed back to the dealer.

While driving on the interstate heading home, the vehicle stopped. Luckily i was able to coast to the side. I was told it was the ignition coils and that there was an open recall on the vehicle for this issue. I had the vehicle towed to a chevrolet dealership. They fixed the problem so i thought. Now, on october 28, 2013 with my 4 year old son in the car the vehicle stopped in the middle of the street. I had the vehicle towed tothe same dealership. This time i was told it was my fuel pump, however upon picking up the vehicle, there is a loud knocking noise coming from the engine and is serious shaking. These things are very similar to the issue with the ignition coils. Luckily traffic was not too bad when the car stopped on both the interstate and with my son, things could have been really bad.
2009 aveo, started april 2010, at a traffic light, the car began to shake. The tach needle was jumping between 500 and 1500. It was acting like it was about to die than tach jumped up. I heard theengine surge. Light changed and car barely moved. I pressed gas pedal to floor but car would lunge forward than act to stall. I put injector cleaner in next fuel tank. Thought it was fixed. 3-weeks later as i was crossing a four lane road, car act as i described above, tach needle bounce between 500 and 1500, car sputtered and surged. Took car to gm dealer, their computer found no problems or codes. No engine light, no code, cleaner mass air flow sensor, got gas at different station. July 2010 took car to dealer again. Still no codes, found no problems. I thought problem might have to do with high humidity, since that was the only commonality i could find with each incident. The problem occurs every couple of weeks, i have gone through a complete tank of gas with no problem. It occurs at different time s of day, different outside temperatures, and weather getting cold it does it. Took car to dealer october. They said possible the 10% ethanol gas maybe problem, so use premium gas. After three premium gas fills. Temperature below freezing car sputtered and surged than stalled. Rolled to stop, turned key off, than started car up and drove home with no problems. Three days later, another below freezing temp, car began slowing down at 40mph than surged. When the car was slowing down the tach was dropping off than jumped back up with the surge. As of today the car has 11158 miles for less than two years old.
Car became unresponsive to the gas pedalat 45 mph. A loud clicking noise could be heard underneath about mid body. It doesnt want to accelerate for passing etc. Could smell fuel and the car was smoking lightly when i got it home. Sat it for 30 minutes and it seems to be ok for now,but havent been on highway yet. 36,000 miles.
Stopped at stop sign went to resume driving pressed down on gas peddle no power . Car was still on but gas peddle was depressed to the floor with no affect...next occurrence at stop light no power when gas peddle depressed. Same problem with my silver aveo odi #10660361 only was in motion when no power occurred .happened three times with silver aveo.
My daughter was driving on the highway and streets the car will loose speed while your driving and stall as if it's not getting fuel. She was on the expressway and lucky she was in the right lane and was able to coast to the shoulder before the car died out. I had this problem check several times and replaced the fuel pump and fuel sensor and still am having the problem. I have an appointment with the dealer for a diagnostic test on 10-1-2015
When i drive down the street my car will go out of drive the i will have to stop the car then turn it off. Then turn it back on.

2010 chevrolet aveo. Consumer states problem with vehicle not having power *tgwseveral months after the vehicle was purchased, the consumer began experiencing situations where there was absolutely no power. She would be driving down the road, highway or interstate and all of a sudden the vehicle would begin to slow down, and when pressing the accelerator, there was absolutely nothing. She would pull off to the side of the road, turn the vehicle off and back on and it would go again. The dealer performed the po132 bulletin 100604012. The consumer then took the vehicle to firestone, because the check engine light illuminated for the second time and she continued to have no power.the consumer then went to another dealer, where they replaced the 02 sensor. Several months later, she received a recall notice regarding an emissions problem which was performed on may 22, 2012. After the recall was performed, the power issue continued.
I was driving on the highway when the engine light came on. The vehicle ran for a few minutes before it started losing power and chugging along on the highway.when i pulled off, i had to flutter on the gas to keep the car from stalling at the stop sign. To make it home on the back roads, i did not stop at stop signs for fear of the car stalling, i had the gas pedal to the floor and it was only going approximately 10 mph.i did not drive it to the dealership, it was towed.they found several engine control module updates. Reflashed ecm code s47490d.performed campaign 11290 spark plugs and boot.while at dealership, tech found rear shocks were leaking. E5807 - rear shock absorbers replaced, both sides.
Wife was driving down expressway when all of the systems shut off. Just like she had turned the key off. She coasted to the side of the road and after about 30 minutes she restarted the car and drove home. She took the car to the dealership where we purchased it, they checked the car andfound nothing wrong.
The contact owns a 2010chevrolet aveo 5lt. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph when the vehicle independently decelerated to 30 mph. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact that the transmission had lost communication with the vehicle, causing the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that when attempting to accelerate, the vehicle was slow to respond. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who advised that the vehicle would need a cold air intake yet the engine was not large enough to install the component. The contact also stated that the engine would shake violently when driving at least 55 mph. The failure would cause the vehicle to swayback and forth. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer and they were unable to diagnose the failure with the engine.there were no repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 1500.
The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that the driver was involved in a crash where the vehicle rolled over three times. The details of the crash were not available. Brakes are squeaking and sounds as though they are grinding.need to push down to the floor in order to come to a complete stop.
While traveling down the interstate at 55 mph car shut down loss all power no steering no brakes no lights, and it was nighttime, coasted to the side of road, car would not start back up for a good 15 minutes. This has happened every few months.most times thankfully it has only happened in parking lots.but it happened to me when i pulled out on a busy highway and it happened to my son today as he pulled out on a busy highway.i am scared for my son's safety. I paid a lot for this car as a used car from a chevy dealeri can not seem to get anyone who knows what the problem is.the chevy place said they could only help ifhappen while they had it. Other places have said the same.i think gm should take responsibility for making a car with a dangerous problem.i have seen a lot of reviews of aveo owners who have this problem and are facing the same frustration. Could you make gm at least give people who have bought this car they want to get rid some kind of voucher for a trade in.they could use it for the sake of their family's safety and their sanity.
The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet aveo. While driving 66 mph, the contact stated the cruise control was activated. While going uphill, the gear moved to second gear and the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact had to apply pressure to the brake pedal to lower the speed. The failure occurred four times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they could not diagnose the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer the last time the contact experienced the failure. The contact stated the oil light had illuminated on the instrument panel. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

Unable to see at highway speeds because the windshield washer cannot clean the windshield.2010 chevrolet aveo windshield washer is useless at highway speeds.the washer fluid hits low on the windshield while at a stop and is unable to get past the wipers at legal highway speeds.this began immediately upon purchase.my car has been in three times, and the problem is unresolved.the dealer checked five or six similar cars on the lot and all of them have the same problem.changed washer fluid and cleaned lines.changed washer pump.dealer does not believe replacing the nozzles with new ones from the factory will resolve the problem because all similar vehicles checked have this same problem.
Four tires of autogrip p308 40k/ag308p1402 were purchased in late november 2015 when the vehicle had 61674 miles on it. The vehicle was in for service in late february 2017 with only 69933 miles when the mechanic noticed the tires were worn to the wearbar. This was not the location where the tires had been purchased. For warranty reasonsthe vehicle was taken to the location where the tires had been purchased and had them replaced, the company that the tires were originally purchased from did not replace tires for free, but prorated the cost of new tires. They no longer carry this brand and claim the vehicle caused the problem. My spouse and i feel that the tires themselves were defective, but do not see any recall on this product. This is the sixth vehicle that we have owned in our adult lives and have not experience such a quick product failure with tires. We believe an investigation is in order and thank you for reviewing the concern.
I purchased my car in august of 2010 brand newin august of 2011 i had to replace all 4 tiresthe tires that were on were hankook so they put 4 new tires onin july 2012 my tires were shot and i went to get my car inspected and it wouldn't passon this one hankook said the tires that were on it were 60,000 tires so they would pay 80 % and i had to pay 20% and i could pick whatever brand of tire i wantedi didn't know what to pick so went with yokohama and those were put on somewhere between 25 to 26,000 +mileswell here i am august now of 2013i knew my tires were shot so set it up for inspection and of course it would not pass i had to have 4 new tires again.these chevy paid for 2 and i had to pay for 2 they now have put continentalmy new car from aug. 2010 now has its 4th set of tires on my car was a little over 38,408 miles on it when the 4th set of tires was put on i keep trying to tell them there has to be a defect in the vehicle that this is not normal(and i don't see how it is safe) i do tire rotations and tire alignments and am now being told by the district specialist that at least now we have it recorded and these are 60,000 mile tires (which i said wow so was the first 2 sets of hankook. (these 2 tires cost me $260 and i do not think this is something that is normal to be dealt with every year.i have never even had an old vehicle that went through 4 tires every year
