My mother swerved to keep from hitting a vehicle entering the highway. She ended up in the oncoming traffic lane. Her car was hit by a pick up truck, spun and was hit again by the truck. Traffic was not heavy and it was on a rural road. Her air bags did not deploy in spite of multiple strikes. We will never know if her car cut off due to an ignition problem or it was faulty air bags. She sustained catastrophic injuries including a broken neck, broken back, broken wrists, broken pelvis, broken leg, broken ribs and chest injuries. She was air lifted to a trauma center. She died on 6/9/09. The air bags never deployed which could have helped reduce her injuries.

My 2009 chevrolet aveo was t-boned by a driver going 50-55 mph, and we were traveling 25 mph (according to police report).the aveo was hit on the front passenger side tire / front panel / passenger side of front bumper.the driver's side air bag deployed, but the passenger side air bag did not.it should have deployed.i had noticed a few months before the accident that the "passenger side air bag is off" light would go on and off while my husband was sitting in the passenger seat.the light eventually stayed on even when he was sitting in the seat.i had been meaning to take the car in to the chevy dealer to have it looked at since it was still under warranty.also, i noticed on this website that there is only one recall on this car.i received a recall notice directly from chevy about the spark plugs not sitting correctly in the boots, or something like that, and had them replaced for free from the dealer.i was never notified by chevy of the recall notice on this website about the abs system, but my car didn't have abs.(not sure if it will post my vin, but if it does, just an fyi, this car was deemed a total loss/beyond repair).

I have had to replace the suspension rods, (tie rods, struts, and brakes and now the ball bearrings in the tires. I bought this car in 2010 which from my understanding it was supposed to be new at the time of purchase from baum chevrolet in clinton, illinois. I have bought three sets of tires (new) what is up with this car? drive daily. I have reported it to general motors who insist it is not on recall. It should be.

My wife and i were traveling in our chevy aveo 2009, going about 65mph on a fairly secluded state highway, when suddenly it felt as though we were on black ice. I tried continuing straight, but we were pulled violently to the right, hitting the cement barrier, which launched us left across both lanes of traffic. Fortunately there was no oncoming traffic at the time. When we hit the left shoulder, our car did a 180, and rolled 3 times, landing upright. I blacked out part way through the accident and awoke hunched over with my leg out the window. But we were both very fortunate to leave the accident alive, getting released from the hospital with only superficial injuries--cuts from the glass, minor headaches and soreness, etc. Our seatbelts were our saving grace. However, we noticed that none of the airbags ever deployed. From the significant body damage done to the aveo, we and the spectators who arrived to help us, expressed surprise that they never went off. Now 2 days later, we're beginning to experience greater pain in the lower back and upper legs, which we hope doesn't turn into something more serious and costly than originally determined. Would it be considered a defect for airbags, even side ones, to not deploy when getting hit at those speeds?

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated while driving at 35 mph the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the vehicle veered to the right and went into an embankment. The contact also stated that three of the tires became detached from the wheels and the air bag did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the neck, forehead, and back and the contact was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. Thepolice was at the scene and filed a report. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000updated 9/11/14 updated 1/20/2015

I had a accident the car cought on fire.

Since i got my aveo5 ls in 2013. I have been problems since the air bag light on thinking my air bags don't work at all. The clock doesn't keep set. The flex tube needs be replaced every month. My headlights and brake lights need to replace two times a month or more. Then to find out i almost had a fire with my headlight plug is melted crispy black, now my headlight don't work as well. The module behind passenger side back always need to replace especially in winter. I had my car for 3 years and my paint has been coming off due to factory paint problem.now i can not keep engine light off since i got my car, i think i put more money in buying parts then i paid for the car. Gm did a very poor design for this model

Our son had a car accident on high i -49 n, the air bags did not deploy. The brakes would not break. He substained head ,neck trauma , back and leg in the vehicle.

My car had habits of motor shutting off..i would put in neutral restart no problem.the on sept 02 2014 a person coming opposite direction decided make lft turn in front of us we broaded him.....no airbags deployed and car was total loss.

Air bag light remain on and brinks, also the electrical system has went out it effects doors and panel.

My daughter was in a roll over accident, there was damage on both sides of the car and none of the air bags deployed.when we purchased this car the sales guy went on and on about all the safety features including side air bags and none of them worked!

1st incident: was on interstate during rush hour in st. Paul, mn w/ 2 toddlers in the back seat. The car suddenly started bucking and then shut off. I was in the 2nd left lane on 4 lane so i had to coast to the right hand shoulder w/ no power steering and no acceleration almost getting hit by multiple vehicles. Took four hours for tow truck. . 3 weeks for the fuel pump to be manufactured and shipped as the car was brand new w/ less than 3000 miles on it and they didn't have spare parts for it. Also, discovered that the onstar wasn't connected even though i was supposed to receive a free year. It wouldn't even come on. They fixed that at the same time as the fuel pump but then when i got it back i noticed my clock wouldn't keep time and the onstar wasn't showing the free year which never got resolved. The dealer said they wasn't sure what was wrong with the clock but the replaced some fuses, etc. To this day it still doesn't work.2nd incident which is still ongoing: dash and radio fuses randomly blow, car eats coil packs and spark plugs every 3-4 months. At red lights/extended stops it will start idling roughly and usually will shut off. Car will sometimes not accelerate and other times it will shoot off like a rocket w/ a mild press of gas pedal. Gas mileage is a joke, i'm lucky to get 20/mpg. I have taken this car to 3 chevy dealer mechanics and 2 independents and no one can tell me what is wrong other than 'electrical' saying i could replace the computer and wiring harness but that is not a guaranteed fix and at almost $2500 not worth it at this point. I will just be so glad to have this thing paid off in a few months (bought it brand new w/ 43 miles on it) so i can sell or trade it in though every dealer i've approached about trading it in tells me they do not accept them b/c of 'known' problems in the auto community. 2 wrecks, airbags never deployed, front & rear.

S10 appropriate handling- letter to the secretary from constituent re copy of a letter to the u.s. Attorney general regarding a complaint against general motors.the consumer stated in march 2011, the vehicle began to loose power steering and the engine would shut off by itself. The consumer went to the dealer, where they claimed the problem was fixed. However, the problem continued.the problem continued into 2012.in may 2014, due to the existing problem, the consumer was involved in an accident and the vehicle was totaled.also, the air bag did not deploy, even though the impact was severe enough to warrant air bag deployment. Updated 10/05/15.

Had an accident when someone ran into me. Airbags did not deploy. Suspension bars had to be replaced. Also have a crack in the vacuum hose. I was driving apprx 25-30 miles.the problems had nothing to do with the accident..my question is that i should not have to replace the suspension bars this soon. Now the drums have to be replaced (why?) i only have 60,000 miles on the car but these problems started long before this. Isthis car on the recall list? ) [xxx]('parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).')

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was advised that the air bag sensor unit was not responding due to her exceeding the weight limit causing the air bag warning light to illuminate. The contact stated that her weight was 262 lbs and that was unacceptable that the air bag sensor failed to accommodate the weight. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000. The current mileage was 57,000.

After getting the front end of this car fixed(after 3 months) i was driving home when the temperature gauge stopped working. No air conditioning,90 degree day. Took the car to coastal chevrolet in pawleys island sc where they told me it would be 300.00 to remove dash instruments to just get part number for gauge.then they could tell me cost of part, another 300.00 to remove instruments again to replace part(of unknown cost).gm once again reluctant to take responsibility for such shoddy design work,no more good will work from dealership.retired, how do i pay for a 700.00 temperature gauge on a car with 22,640 miles? i am so stressed, this car is a total nightmare, and i have done everything possible to keep it in good working order.there has to be an answer for customers who are caught in such a mess.

When i go to turn off my car it will still run even if the key is out of the ignition. I seen a lot of people have this problem and it definitely is a safety hazard.i have a 4 year in my car when this was happening.i made it home off the high way with no problems but when i go to park my car it won't turn off.

I had a accident the car cought on fire.

I have been having quite a bit of trouble with my aveo in the last year.the battery will be dead after sitting in the garage for 12 hours with no explanation.the first time it happened in january, we blamed it on the very cold winter we were having and a new battery was purchased.i did not have any issues for a few months but then as of the spring until now, the battery has been dead a dozen more times.i took it into a garage which checked everything to make sure that the car was not draining the battery somehow, but they came up with no solutions but to give me another new battery.but since then, it has still occurred numerous times.for years, my clock has been wrong. I will set it to the correct time, but once the car is shut off and started again, it will be a completely different time each time. I have tried to have someone look at it but no one can seem to explain that either.so i am led to believe that there is some sort of faulty electrical situation that is causing all this stress.the wrong time, i can deal with.my car not starting for no reason is a much greater dilemma.i am 7 months pregnant and have been reading a lot of other people's reviews online stating that things like this and much worse things have been happening to them with their 2009 chevy aveos.i would hope that with this many incidences, there would be a recall or some sort of explanation by now, at least.i am very concerned to own this car with a newborn on the way.he is due in january and if i go to leave a location with him in the dead of winter and my car won't start or worse, i will be one very upset mother.please consider the fact that there may be some very serious issues with this electrical system.thank you for your time.

At 24000 miles the timing belt had to be replaced due to a worn harmonic balancer. Now there are more problems which cannot be duplicated at the dealership.when trying to start the car, it will sometimes not start. After waiting about 5 minutes, it will eventually start. No engine or security lights come on.as you are driving down the road, the car will "miss" and/or lunge at various speeds. It also does not want to take gas, especially at about 30-35 mph. The vehicle "pulls back" while accelerating. Unknown whether this is fuel system, engine, or transmission related.

The instrument lights on my new 2009 chevrolet aveo do not work.the fuse is fine but it appears to be a burnt connector in the engine fuse box.i have read online that hundreds of aveos have had the identical problem.thank you.

Car would not start. Put charger on it and even tried jump starting it. Car would not even engage the starter. Engine lights would not come on and needles on the gauges would flicker up and down. Had to have dealer come and get it. They told me they had to put a charger on it for an hour before it would finally start, but did not know why cause the battery is good. Said hope it was a fluke or a module did not wake up? and to bring back if does it again. Charged a $129.00 for labor and tow even though have a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty. I have a feeling this will not be the last issue.

Went to an appointment, came back and car would not start.had to have it jumped. A few months later went to a store, came back out car would not start had it jumped again.had the battery checked and it showed a drain on the battery but couldn't find the cause.after having it jumped the next time the check engine light came on for a brief time then went out.next the check engine light came on and the car immediately stopped running.had it jumped again, it would turn over but die again.finally had to have it towed.took it to one shop and they couldn't find the problem.now it is being check at another shop. Since this is the only transportation i have, i have had to cancel appointments and rely on others for over a week. This car has been nothing but a problem since i bought it and i feel that i was sold a lemon. Updated 05/02/12the consumer was informed the computer needed to be reprogrammed. The consumer was told it was a known problem with the chevrolet aveo. Updated 05/04/12

My dashboard light suddenly went out, at the same time the right tailgate light and the front right light went off. I checked online and a number of people having the exact same problem. It is a wiring issue

Vehicle lost power to the engine. Stepping on the gas pedal did nothing. The car lurched and decelerated quickly. Power was suddenly restored to engine causing the car to speed up quickly, then engine lost power again. Car came to a stop, engine sputtered and then died. No warning lights came on. Restarted engine, car drove as normal. Took to dealership, they could find nothing wrong. Problem has continued intermittently for almost a year. Have taken the car to the dealership multiple times, they can find nothing wrong. The sudden deceleration has occurred at all speeds, including on the freeway almost causing a collision. The car went from 70mph to 40mph in one minute, sputtered for a while, and then came back to drive normally after several minutes. The problem happens within the first ten minutes of driving. It has happened twice in the same day after the car sat for 8 hours. The problem has not occurred for periods as long as two weeks but then comes back. The most extreme occurrences have been on side streets where traffic was not a problem, but if another car had been following closely a rear-end collision would have been certain. My spouse has driven the car and experienced the same problem.

Tpms system is defective, can not be reset or relearned/reprogrammed by dealers.need replacement of software within ecu or tpms module, after import from gm korea daewoo plants.software issues?

My 2009 chevrolet aveo was bought in march with 25000 miles, in april i began having problems. After taking the car to two different chevrolet dealerships, at separate times, the harmonic balancer was found to be worn which damaged the timing belt and had to be replaced at 28000 miles. Before this, the car was taken to the dealership for problems of not starting (occasionally). The issue could never be duplicated and was told the car was fine. Since then, the car will now act as though it does not want to take gas or that there is a "mis-fire" such as spark plugs. No lights come on. At 42500 miles when going 45 mph, the car acted as though it wasn't getting gas, or trying to "miss" and the engine light flashed three times but didn't stay on. After pulling over, turning off the car for 10 secs and restarting it, as said to do in manual, the car was able to be driven home with no security lights on.car will once again be inspected a dealership for the same problems!!! this car should be recalled. It is not safe to drive. It "lunges" at intersections or when letting off the brake, jerks or makes a hard "miss" when traveling at a constant speed.aveos should not be on the market. My aveo gets great gas mileage, has no power options, which is what i wanted, but is still more trouble than any vehicles i have owned. My aveo is driven mostly on the interstate and no more than 30 miles in each direction. It currently has 42550 miles.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that both headlights and high beams failed to illuminate. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the module or the wires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

I am writing to you with regards to my chevy aveo 2009 lt,with automatic transmission.my wife usually drives this car and last week, suddenly my car wouldn't stop running. She was at her work place and she took off the keys but later realized the car was still running, so she returned back and couldn't shut off the engine.. So i had to leave my work and take the car to a chevy dealership to find out it was a problem with a faulty ignition switch, but said it was not part of the recent gm ignition switch recall.but my question is:a. Why would the switch fail all of a sudden, and what if my wife left the car running all day and if it would've taken off by itself.b. I have been hearing a lot of news about chevy recall of faulty ignition switches, does this not fall in that category? else, is there anything you could find with the faulty switch as this might be a hindrance if the car doesn't stop at all.hope you can provide me with a proper guidance or if this fell under the recall itself?

The aveo lt was on i-85 ramp downtown atlanta trying to build speed when it stalled at an area where there is little side access. Car cooled off and was re cranked and brought to north end of atlanta for further inspections to see if the problem could be duplicated. Car rpms were noted to vary up and down and then stalled without warning at a major intersection where it was almost t-boned on peachtree industrial blvd norcross, gawhere the speed limit was 55 mph. Multiple obd codes were extracted ( a total of 6 ) . Car was further examined by ase mechanic shop that states that the vehicle ecm loses communication with sensors and other computers under these conditions. Ase mechanic states that ecm should be replaced. Gm car dealer ( rick hendrix gmc - duluth, georgia ) states that gm procedure is to apply sb pip4789c replacing front o2 sensor as a starting point to repair car using a newer o2 sensor that was made later than a certain date and to update ecm with newer software. Gm dealer states there is no need to drive the car to duplicate problem and to review using a scanning tool as the gm procedure is to be used and will be adequate. This situation is clearly dangerous. If a simple o2 sensor could suddenly could cause a known problem of this type in accordance with the gm sb then it should be covered by the 8/80k emissions warranty. If the ecm can lose communications with other essential items and cause a problem of this type that should not only be covered under the emissions but it should also be placed on recall. As an engineer with 36 years experience i am appalled.at a failure of this type. A person can be psychologically conditioned that their car is running fine and then at the next moment it completely stalls and may not allow them to clear an intersection.

Lets start from the beginning when i first bought the car my air bag light and clock light will go in and out over bumps more the air bag light. Now and still the air bag light on dash is on and passenger air bag light above the clock says off when someone is sitting in the seat. 2nd my tail lights i go threw them like water. 3rd the thing in the passenger side back right next to the tire every winter i have a problem with wires or the whole thing braking. 3rd its says good gas mileage ya right. The gas gauge doesn't work proper ran outta gas a few times.i have replace battery and spark plugs now i having engine problems with engine light on the engine is riding rough my whole car is shaking i can not go to speed even when the gas petal is to the floor. I see a recall and now its closed the recall says degraded connection between ignition coil spark plug boots and spark plugs. Pretty sure that's the cause. My body paint is coming off. It started coming off not even 2 months after i bought it . Sometimes the radio and clock with air passenger light shuts off and will not come back on until i shut the car off and back on. The onstar stop working all together. The defrost doesn't work to well unless high. My overall of this car is a money hog to keep fixing parts.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that after several attempts to start the vehicle it failed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated. The contact also stated that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered to pay a portion of the repair cost. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the vin was not provided. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Just wanted to let someone know sometimes when i take my key out of the ignition it is very hot to the touch and i have never had any other car do this it does not do it every time but on several occasionsthis has happened and was wondering if there has been others complain about this i just don't want a fire to start or something happen while i am driving it.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 mph, the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition coil needed to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 12000.updated 09/30/14

I notice that my left head light when out. I replace the bulb with a high price bulb but headlight was very dim. I then notice that my headlights went out all together and no high beams, but my high beam light indicator on my dashboard is on. Also i my radio display will go in and out sometimes.

Drove to glen carbon short trip no sign of over heating pulled to gas station it dumped all the anti freeze out by the gauge still did not show the car was hot. [xxx] 2009 chevrolet aveo.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Hello. My aveo started, and when i tried to shut it off, it would continue to run. This problem persisted until i pulled a fuse from the engine. I returned the fuse to its allocated spot, but now there is zero life in the aveo when i attempt to start it. The lights come on, and i have tried jumping the battery on two separate occasions. This is the second such occurrence in three years. Last time i paid to have my vehicle towed to a mechanic, and all they did was jump it. Started right up, they said.

Air bag light remain on and brinks, also the electrical system has went out it effects doors and panel.

My step daughter bought a brand new aveo 2009 is has been in for repairs 13 times for the same problem. It will run fine then will not go over 20mph this has happened several times while she is driving on highway at 65 mph has almost caused her and my young granddaughter to be injured. When she starts the car the clock will reset its self to 7:23 no matter what time it is that is usually the first sign it is getting ready to turn into a death trap. O2 sensor has been replaced car is again in shop they are telling her they can't find any problems but think it could be the o2 senser want 600.00 to replace. Her check engine light has not come on. Car is no longer under warrenty.we have contacted dealership where she bought it no help from them.contacted chevy asking them to admit it is a lemon and do the right thing no help from them.

Had driven my car earlier that day with no problems.mid-afternoon i got in my car to go run errands and it wouldn't start.when i would turn the key nothing would happen, no lights came on, no attempt for engine to turn over. Nothing.quick check confirmed battery was charged, fuses good, and power getting to fuses.had it towed to dealer.inspection by gm technician found the instrument module had overheated and been damaged, which disabled the ignition and wouldn't allow car to start.issue sounds similar to the recent recalls on the 2004-2008 aveo's, where "the problem concerns the daytime running light module in the instrument panel. It could overheat, melt and cause a fire."gm technician noted that he could tell the instrument module was melted cause he could smell the burning when he open up the dash.

Less than 30,000 miles. Persistent problem (since 2012): engine shuts off by itself. No warning lights ondashboard before each occurrence. Car has been taken to the dealer multiple times.on 08/17/2016 around 11:45 a.m. Car shut off by itself while driving on the middle of a multi-lane (6+) highway. I was able to roll down the automatic window (it worked ) on the driver side, i pressed the warning light (it worked). After multiple attempts car started, and i drove away. The car worked well for a while, took side roads(35mph speed limit). Car shut off by itself a second time. I was able to restarted and made it to a safe location. I have reported this last situation to chevrolet and they told me to go to a different dealer, and only after pressuring they provided a 100.00 dollar coupon to get the car checked.chevrolet claims they had no information on my car's record of shutting down by itself, that they dealer only reports the repairs. However, one of the dealer invoices from 2012 reads: "vehicle stalled", " another invoice reads "car died once", etc. And on the notes it includes "unable to replicate clients concerns". Just because the dealer cannot replicate the failure, it does not mean the car is safe to drive. The car is not safe.the car shut down on us and we were left in the middle of a multi-lane highway with cars going 65+mph. The sudden complete shut off of the car in the middle of any road is a great danger not only to the occupants of the car but to other drivers as well.other problems: clock/time gets restarted each time i start the car (and it is never right).in multiple occasions, during the morning, the car would not start (but radio and windows work), the car would take several minutes to get started.

The car lost power for no reason . It did not fully stall but lost power and would not respond. It would lurch forward, barely go, then recover slightly. This happened sporadically and was frightening and dangerous. The battery light began to go off and on. Mechanics could find nothing wrong and battery ok. In november, car lost power in traffic, almost had wreck, barely made it to shop. "strangely swollen" battery found and replaced. Computer and all systems checked. Incident happened again. Back in shop. Clutch replaced, tube replaced in engine, etc. Cost $ 1500. Car seemed to run fine but only for days. Began doing same thing again. But when i take it to mechanics, can't find anything wrong becauseproblem comes and goes. It seemed to possibly be triggered and happened more often if i used onstar built in phone. Had it turned off and thought that somehow fixed problem but it happened again yesterday in traffic with my 93 yr old mom in car. Terrifying.. Can't get out of way if car coming in intersection. No one helps me find a solution. I contacted gm online they said they know of no such problem. Hundreds of posts online from aveo owners with same problem. Someone is going to die if this isn't made public.. We need a recall . Help please!

Dash lights went out, fuses and bulbs checked replace.dealership says it's in need of new fuse block $700 job to fix.this is just out of warranty and i see that internal relay failing on these chevy aveo's are showing up on hundreds of cases like this.need a recall to get this fixed since so many of these relays are burning up for no reason.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and the ignition switch turned to the accessory position. The vehicle was restarted and was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

2009 chevy aveo - since purchased last july have had intermittent shut downs. Will be driving and go to make a turn and with out any warning the car shuts off. I have brought it back to chevy numerous times and they cant seem to find the problem. Told them this is a safety issue and if the car shuts off while on the interstate there is no way for me to get out of the way of traffic. I loose all power in the car. Then it takes a few seconds before the car will restart.approx 6 mo after i had the car i was told by the service manager at chevy that there was something on their trouble board and they had to reprogram the computer. This temporarily fixed the problem until april of this year when it started again. Although i am in the process of a buyback from chevy they still have me driving the car. My 22 year old daughter used the car a week ago and experienced this while trying to exit off of one main road and enter onto another. The car just shut off.

Car would not start, needle gauges flickering, inside lights on, dash lights on, but would not start or allow vehicle to move out of park. Car acted like it was locked up. Tried jumping vehicle twice but absolutely nothing. All the complaints i have read have been exactly what has happened with my car from the gas surges where i have pulled out into traffic and the car would have no power and i thought i was going to be hit, to the cruise control not working and then spontaneous coming on. We have had the car in for work at least three times for incidentals. I am fixing to trade this in from all the negative responses i have read. I am really worried about the electrical starting a fire, the car seems to have a mind of its own! never have seen needles moving on gauges when car is completely disengaged with no keys even in ignition.

Had to replace suspension tie rods, po171 struts, tires 3 times and now a vacuum leak. Bought car in 2010. Car hesitates when driving and take off.

Stalled at intersection. Problem diagnosed as requiring ecm programmed. Not covered under warranty dealership charged a service fee for reprogramming ecm at a cost of $250.

I have a 2009 aveo5 purchased new in march 2009. In april 2011 at approx 32600 the vehicle stalled while i was driving, cel came on, and it would not start again for about 20 minutes. Onstar diagnostics reported "internal control module failure" p16f3. I had already requested a tow truck, and when it arrived, i tried starting it again. It started and was able to move it to get it on the tow truck. Cel was still on. Took it to mike wilson chevrolet. They kept it 1 week, said there was no cel, no fault code, nothing wrong with it.last night, january 2, 2012 at approx 48000 miles i experienced the same problem with the same fault code. Onstar, advance auto parts, and my own personal obd2 scanner all reported the same code: p16f3. I searched online and found tsb 09-06-04-005 (february 2009) describing the exact problem and resolution: ecm recalibration. This morning, cel is off, and i went to rod hatfield chevrolet which was the dealer closest to me, and they said that despite having that exact problem while under warranty and having it repeated now, that they would not fix it under warranty. I feel it should have been discovered the first time in april 2011, since it was a known problem and the bulletin was published before i even bought the car. Because it was not fixed the first time, i feel it should be covered under warranty.i was in danger both times when my car stalled in the roadway. This could have been fixed the first time and i would not have been in danger last night. I am in process of filing a complaint with gm.

Coolant temperature engine heating up

The low beam headlights don't work anymore. Went to mechanic, who replaced bulbs with brand new ones, and they didn't work either. They tested fuses and said those were fine. They recommended i go to a chevy dealership to fix it but don't have the money for all that.running around at night to get home from work on a passenger-side daytime running light only, or high beams when no one's around. Help!

Will not shut off, even with key removed.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that the ignition key failed to disengage from the ignition without warning. In addition, the contact stated that the ignition key failed to move from the on position into the off position without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the housing cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,087.

This is after the coil pack and spark plugs/boots put on by chevy after that recall. It is eating coil packs every 4-6 months and at 150-200$ a pop it is expensive especially once you factor in mechanic labor. I hate this car and wish i never got it. I miss my 96 dodge caravan with the oil leak and manual windows. I felt much safer in that old van and it was more reliable- it never left me even with a blown head gasket. Chevrolet should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on a now defunct pos foreign daewoo crap and selling it to us as american made. There isn't anything made in north america. There are a few parts made in mexico but most are korean made. I would never have gotten it if i had glimpsed those daewoo stamps under the hood, trunk, and car jams.

The failure mileage was 80,432.

Back in 2010, car shut off while accelerating onto freeway. Took into chevy, could not duplicate & didn't fix. Happened 3 more times over 2 years, finally took it in 2012. Dealership shop said it was a faulty oxygen sensor in fuel line. Happened on listed date of incident in rush hour traffic, driving less than 20mph. Vehicle completely shut off.have not taken it back to be looked at.

Dash board lights began to flicker while driving on the interstate.dash board indicator lights would come on and then go out without cause while driving.then vehicle would not shift into automatic overdrive while driving on the interstate. Air conditioner then would stop cooling both on interstate and in town. Cruise control ceased to operate while engaged. Condition ruined battery, causing vehicle to not start. While waiting in drive-thru for my order, my car began to shudder violently. I was idling at 1 rpm on the meter.suddenly, my car accelerated itself up to 4 rpm. Had i not had my foot on the brake, i would have rear ended the vehicle in front of me. This persisted throughout the drive-thru and onto the roadway.i tried to accelerate and shift into second gear, but the car lost all power and then would rev up to 35mph without warning.not once did my check engine light come on. Brought it to the dealer and was informed that my information cluster needed to be replaced and that chevy doesn't cover that part outside of the warranty period.i just paid my car off and the extended warranty just expired. I'm looking at paying $700 and they're not done looking at my car.this is unacceptable. Something needs to be recalled because from what i've read, my car isn't the only one that has experienced this.

My light went out for the passenger seat.some instrument panel lights went out.started driving sluggish and acting like it wanted to cut off.took to dealership who at first could not find the problem, kept saying it was blowing up their computers.later found out that it was the computer control center under the driver seat.gm should not have put the control box under the driver seat and i should not have had to pay $1400 to have it fixed.the car was only 2 years old then.the complete car was taken apart and apparently was not put back together correctly because my radio speakers do not work properly now.i will never buy another gm product.

2011 car lost acceleration hold light and check engine light came on had to pump gas pedal to prevent car from cutting off .took car to chevy dealer had to purchase water or fuel pump i forgot which one. Then receive recall for coil. Had that replaced free at dealer. 2012 incident, car lost acceleration at speeds of 40mph again had to pump gas pedal to prevent cut off. Did not take to dealer added gas treatment to fuel and changed gasoline brands. Problem solved for about two weeks.lost acceleration again.changed air filter car was good for about 2 days. Continued to drive car for next several years with same problem. 2013 car not producing any heat added anti-freeze, heat came out right after. Next day no heat again anti-freeze container was empty again. Continued to added anti-freeze to prevent car from running hot. 2014 took car to dealer for anti-freeze problem they replaced the container and cap (purchased separately) and flushed the radiator cost $312.two weeks later car ran hot steam shooting out from under the hood. Anti-freeze container empty again. Returned car to dealer where it is now they told me i had blown head gaskets and that it would cost $1500 to repair on a car i still pay monthly notes. They called the next day told me gm would cover 60% of the cost and i had to pay $600. I feel that gm should add the 2009 chevrolet aveo to their list of recall and replace the whole car for all who have paid out money for these reoccurring problems because this car is a piece of junk.

Vehicle just locked up,and i was forced to coast down a hill from my houseintyo uncoming traffic.. This has been the second time this has occurred with this vehicle, the first ime, i called triple aaa and had the car towed to arroway chevrolet dealership in mount kisco ny. This is where i purchased the vehicle.this occured with a 2005 chevrolet cavalier tht i purchased from arroway in mount kisco, it occured so frequently, that i turned it in and purchased the aveo.unfortunately, the same thing is happening with this car.

Car was undrivable due to engine miss on 12/5/13.called harbor chevrolet in michigan city, indiana to report problem and ask for service. Service appointment was not available for 5 days, so sought diagnosis at local shop.local shop indicated faulty coil/sparkplugs was issue (local mechanic was classic imports).owner purchased spark plugs and coil (parts purchased from harbor chevrolet parts department) and replaced these parts the next day.car ran fine.owner found out that car had a recall for coil/plugs on january 14th, 2014 from gm through onstar notification. Owner contacted dealership for reimbursement of diagnosis and parts cost of $365.87. Harbor reimbursed only for spark plugs-$88.84. Owner contacted chevrolet and chevrolet indicated on plugs and boots were part of service bulletin not coil.

The vehicle caught fire while travelling at approximately 40 mph on the highway, us route 93 at exit 33, south in massachusetts, and burnt and the gas tank exploded. There was no accident preceding the fire.the vehicle is a total loss.

You can't drive it anywhere it runs right then for no reason it loose power and won't accalrate while driving it will drop below 10 mph in traffic or lose all power while crossing road or turning i'm afeead i'll b hit in side or ran over in traffic.

My 2009 chevy aveo has been nothing but trouble! the problem started with 89,000 miles. In idle, after about 2 minutes, the car would shake violently. I began to drive normally with no problem then the car surges, looses power, then stalled in traffic. After about 3 minutes of sitting, the car suddenly started then after about 4 blocks, lost power again. The car kept dying & restarting. Finally got home. Turned the car back on , the idle was going up & down, shaking violently while idling in park. The throttle body was changed, o2 sensor changed, mass air sensor changed. Air filter clean. This car is terrible. I will never trust & buy a chevy again!!!!! shame on you chevy.!get your quality control in check. I want people to know to stay clear of chevy cars!!!!!

So we bought this car and noticed that it would lose power, buck, jerk, and sometime die. Usually after dying it will start right back up and drive fine for a while. We took it to a repair shop that told us to replace the throttle body. After we replaced the throttle body and had the dealer program it the problem persisted. We bought a new ecu from the chevy dealer and had them install and program it and the problem persisted. We replaced the coil pack for the second time in this vehicles history with no luck, same problem. Drained the fuel tank and installed a new fuel pump...... Same problem.... Amidst all these part replacements the car has been to the local chevy dealer at least three times and now a fourth time they finally called me after a week and suggested that they clean the throttle body.... I explained that it is brand new and should not need cleaning. They still apparently have no clue what's wrong with this piece of junk that is only 4 years old! between the chevy dealer and our own time we have spent over $2000 dollars and the car still won't operate correctly.

I was driving the vehicle home from work and while slowing down at a stop light, the vehicle started to shake and the check engine light came on. After that i went to accelerate when the light changed and the car would not go above 2 mph, even with the accelerator all the way to the floor. I brought it back to the dealer for the third time since i bought it 7 months ago and they are working on it now. They said it was the part that allows fuel into the engine.

I own 2009 chevy aveo. While driving at no particular speed, the vehicle lost acceleration and stalls out without warning.the vehicle did start back. This failure has been going on since i bought the car in 2012.it is getting worse and worse.it doesn't run right at no particular time, just whenever.don't ever know whether i am going to get to my destination or not without having to pull over so i don't get run over by traffic because my car is going no where.i have taken it to several dealerships several times.it wont duplicate the problem when they drive it and the service engine light is not coming on to get a code.the car only has 45,000 miles on it.it is a safety issue.something should be done!!!!!!!!!!

Engine keeps overheating. Two blown head gaskets in the past 6 months. Hoses burst with no warning or prior damage, causing car to overheat. Engine is building pressure for some unknown reason. Mechanic is unable to determine the root of the overheating. Replaced thermostat, water pump, multiple hoses, two head gaskets and it is still overheating and running hot.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo.the contact statedthat while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred three times over a period of one year. The vehicle was taken the dealer who could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,940.

Driving home from work, stopped at a store in a parking lot, car ignition would not turn off, could not get car keys out of ignition.drove to a dealership, who said the ignition needed to be replaced because it was shifting. Said it would cost 4 to 5 hundred dollars, did not have it fixed.but since then, it has been difficult at times to get the car to turn on, or if turned off, hard to get keys out.a valet could not get it to turn off and when he finally did, could not get the keys out,so he left them in my car.i think this has something to do with the gm faulty ignition switches.

Purchases car in 8/3013 to date i have had it in for service on 10 occasions for engine issues, a/c, heating, engine coilsi was sold an unsafe, unreliable car.

Bought 2009 aveo ls sedan brand new for daughter so she would have a safe car for college.when the car warms up it will not respond to gas pedal inputs.this happens on and off at random times, sometimes in the middle of an intersection, other times on the highway.we have parked the car as it is unsafe for our child to drive in the current condition.trips to the dealership result in "we can't find anything wrong".frustrating....this was an expensive lesson to never buy a gm product again!

1st time-i was driving and my car started to sputter and when i hit the gas pedal for acceleration nothing would happen, the rpm would raise and the car wouldn't accelerate. 2nd time- same as above but stalled after sputtering3rd time-sitting at a light when the light turned green i couldn't move(pushed gas all the way to the floor with no results)4th time-driving and it started to sputter aggressively and un able to get power and then stalled.5th time- pulled out of parking spot and couldn't get any gas could only coast,in a half mile distance it stalled 3 time when i finally parked it and called a tow truck.**each time the car acted up i took it to the dealership and each time they tell me there is nothing wrong with it they couldn't get an error code. 5 times being in the dealership, the 3rd time they said they received a low idle code and did a decarbon costing me $53, put that didn't help.the 4th time it was at the dealers i was told to drive a long distance and open up the engine (are you kidding me) there is defiantly something wrong with this car! this could be very deadly if it happens in the wrong place.

My 2009 aveo standard transmission looses power for no apparent reason. No faults detected. Car has 99k miles.

I have only had this car for 6/7 months before i started having problems. First the passenger door stopped opening and then the interior lights went out within the first 3 months. I was on my way to work one day and the car started decellerating until it just stopped. At first this was an off an on issue but now it wont start at all. I replaced the ignition coil and spark plugs, just to find that there was a recall i wasnt aware of, but the car still wont move and the battery is dead now.

Timing belt bad, not even 60k miles

During annual inspection, mechanic noticed slight looseness in the tie rod connection; passed inspection and asked me to have him check during next oil change. We discussed replacing the tie rod in any case with a brand with a lifetime warranty in two months when i was off from work. In the meantime, i had to have recall work done at the dealership to replace all spark plug boots and plugs. (chevrolet 5-door aveo). Asked the dealer for an opinion on the tie rod. Dealer mechanics looked at it and said it was of no concern.went back to the local mechanic and arranged for the replacement of the left inner tie rod anyway. During the work, the mechanic discovered that the threads on the outer tie rod were completely stripped down to shiny metal. The nut slid off when pulled gently with his fingers. Replaced both parts and then had to have a front end alignment. Other than the looseness noted during annual state inspection, there were no warning signs. The vehicle was used for commuting in well-maintained state and us highways only. I am the second owner and purchased the car used in march 2011.i tried to report to gm using their website, but there is no part dedicated to the reporting of safety issues.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without any warning. The dealer inspected the vehicle several times and stated that they could not find anything wrong with it. The failure mileage was 16000 and the current mileage was 35000.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph the vehicle would began to stall while the rpms increased excessively causing the vehicle to slow down. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to diagnose or duplicate the failure. The contact stated that this could have caused a rear end crash while driving on the highway. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle had open recall on october 13th, 2012; took the vehicle to john elway chevrolet to fix recall 11290, and was told that the check engine light was illuminating due to an oxygen intake related issue. The open recall, which is was a defective emissions component, is, in addition to the emissions system, covered under the federal emissions control system warranty and federal emissions defect warranty in accordance with the u.s federal clean air act, and backed by chevrolet's promise to "repair and/or replace defective parts in material and workmanship which cause vehicle to fail to conform with those regulations" (p20, 21),and cover "emission related defects in the genuine gm parts listed under the emissions warranty parts list, including related diagnostic costs, parts, and labor" (21). (chevrolet limited warranty and owner assistance information). The oxygen intake related issue however, was not repaired, and diagnostic costs and repairs for these parts were, according to john elway chevrolet, at the owners expense. Since october 13th, 2013 i have had several failed attempts to not only abide by the chevrolet owner's rights and responsibilities, but to maintain the vehicle i had purchased in may of 2012. It is because of chevrolet's failure to abide by their very own promise to their customers, the binding contract i myself purchased and signed with my vehicle which states in their own words warranty, was broken and as a result my 2009 chevrolet aveo was no longer considered a working or legal vehicle. On august 16th, 2013, a case was made with poison control after driving this vehicle, for the last time.

My experience with our 2009 chevrolet aveo. My wife has had multiple problems with our 2009 chevrolet aveo; which she has described to me but i could not make happen or duplicate when i would test drive it when she would get home, until today 10/17/2010. Here is what i experienced. My first 10 -15 miles of driving with one 30 min. Stop at store, no problems. Made 2 mile trip to another store for about 10 min. Then on my way down the road just before a major intersection light; had to stop in long line of traffic. The first thing that happened was when i slightly let off the brake to move forward, the car lunged. I hit the brake and the rpm started dropping and the car started sputtering; so i let off the brake and it lunged again. When the light turned green, i pushed on the accelerator and it was if the engine was not getting gas. I pushed the peddle to the floor and it started going normal again. Pulled into a grocery store parking lot; and it was very shaky or sputtering.; i pushed on the accelerator and it was if the engine was not getting gas again. Pulled into parking spot and once again the rpm started dropping and the car shut off on its own. Went into 1 store for 10 min. Got in the car and it showed no symptoms on the rest of the way home; which is 2 miles from the store.so now i know there is something wrong here.

I was stopped at a red light waiting to make a left southbound turn at approximately 10:30 p.m. The aveo malfunctioned on turning. I ended up going southbound in the northbound turning lane and was completely stopped. I was unable to start the car, change gears, turn on headlights, orturn on flashers to warn other drivers of impending danger. The car was completely stalled with absolutely nothing working - confirmed by police, a friend, and wrecker operator. It was impossible to even push the car to a safe location as the wheels would not move/turn. A manual override was required by the wrecker operator to even load the car onto the wrecker. I was blessed to have a good samaritan pull up behind me and put on flashers and wait until the police arrived as without lights or flashers, it was difficult to see the car stalled in the wrong lane of traffic - creating the potential for an accident.in the weeks preceding this complete malfunction, i had replaced both front hub bearings, brakes, timing belt and water pump. Shortly after the last repair - replacing the timing belt and water pump - the air conditioning stopped working and received an estimate of approx another $1,400 for this repair from a chevrolet dealer in my area.

Harmonic balancer was worn and damaged the timing belt. Upon investigation, the damaged timing belt, belt tensioner, bolts, and worn harmonic balancer had to be replaced.after this, while driving home, the car made a very hard "miss" twice. Something in the engine and/or timing belt area are still not functioning properly.

On the first incident, when driving at 40 mph started shaking like it wanted to stall and stopped accelerating. The next day when stopped at a light it started shaking and the rpm gauge was going up and down. It didn't happen again until about a month later, which is when i took it in, but the dealership couldn't replicate the problem. It kept happening -- the car would start shaking while driving like it wanted to stall and would slow down. Once while driving it dropped the acceleration to about 20 mph and would not go any faster, then just lost power to the engine. I took it again for one week but they couldn't replicate the problem. I got the car back and it was fine for about two weeks but now is happening regularly. Sometimes it just shakes quickly but something the acceleration completely drops and the car will just stop while i am driving, which is scary. I'll try to accelerate and nothing will happen, then finally it will go again. Sometimes i will stop and then the car will lurch forward. The rpm gauge is always moving up and down. There is no pattern as to when it happens. I've taken the car in two more times and still nothing. They just installed a data recorder and i recorded four instances and gave it back; i'm waiting to hear the results. It's very dangerous, because i will be driving in traffic and my car will just stop, and since i am not braking there is no indication to the car behind me. Also, no lights are coming on (no check engine light, etc.). I had my oil changed the first time since i was about due but that made no difference.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that when driving at various speeds or sitting idle in park, the check engine warning light would illuminate sporadically. The vehicle was taken to a dealer yet they were unable to diagnose the failure. This failure would recur on an intermittent basis. The manufacturer was then contacted and they advised her that they were attempting to determine a repair for the known defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

I purchased this car september 2009 and have drive around 5,000miles only.the engine is stalled everyday. However, the dealer said there is no issue. 2 months ago, this problem happened, the dealer changed a battery.since december 11, 2010, again the engine has been stopped many times while i wait for the traffic signal. This morning (12/27), i was almost in the accident. The car was stopped on the hill and went backward. Fortunately i'm fine now, but i was scared. Debember 18, i visited the dealer, they said my car has no problem.

My 2009 chevrolet has had serious stalling or non responsive acceleration for 6 months now. On a regular basis the car will lose power to the engine; when stepping on the accelerator pedal. The car acts like there is no signals from the accelerator pedal to the throttle assembly. There are days when it does nothing at all. There are times when it happens then the engine will just seem to return to normal, then out of the blue the engine will lose power again. There are never any warnings or check engine lights. None have ever come on. We have taken the car to 3 different chevrolet dealerships; and to one independent garage; who did have the problem happen once while i was driving with the owner, but the otc genisis device could not identify what was happening, it just recorded the history of the event. None of the chevrolet dealers could get it to duplicate or find any codes in the 10 days they had the car. The problem seems to be getting worse. I have been taking videos with my htc droid when the car is having its problem (for all the good that will do). It is like keeping a journal. I show the rpm spikes and drops; the sudden deceleration and the ?no response when the gas peddle is pushed. The problem has occurred at all speeds, including when on the freeway.we have already spent over $600 on various (so called fixes); including a complete fuel system cleaning (including the throttle body cleaning) none have ever helped. I was told by a chevrolet dealer it was a bad o2 sensor (but no check engine light had ever came on). O2 sensors always cause a check engine light to come on. I think it may be the entire ecu computer; but no dealer wants to admit that. I was told by the dealer today 01/04/2011; there is nothing more they will do; because we have too much negitive equity. They will not do a buy back. They have washed their hands of the issue. To bad there is no used car lemon law. 4 repair attempts and the problem is even worse.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo.the contact stated the vehicle will begin to stall and then regain power, causing the contact to accelerate unexpectedly. The failure occurs without warning. The vehicle has been diagnosed several times by the dealer, but the problem has been corrected. The failure mileage was 20000 and the current mileage was 29000. Updated 02/09/11*ljthe consumer stated the stalling problem was related to the fuel injector. Updated 05/09/11

I bought my 2009 chevy aveo a year and a half ago.when my car was at 6,000 miles, i drove my car to school and parked it in a parking garage.when i returned to my car at the end of the day it would not start.my car was towed to a dealership and a faulty fuel pump was replaced.when my car reached 16,000 miles i began experiencing shaking at stop lights and stop signs, and very slow delayed acceleration when starting to drive after stopping. The shaking and delayed acceleration would occur randomly yet was very likely when my air conditioning was on. I brought my car to the dealership yet they said the problem could not be replicated. My car is currently around 22,000 miles. Over the last week my car has begun decelerating and then suddenly lunging forward while i am driving.the deceleration and lunging forward is happening when i am driving on local roads at about 30mph and when i am on a highway driving around 70mph (and everything in between).today, pulling out of a parking lot, my car was very delayed in acceleration.when i stopped at a stop light, my car began shaking and then shut off.this problem is sporadic, yet increasingly worrisome and dangerous.dealerships have not identified a problem and insist there is nothing they can do.

There is a ticking noise coming from the right side of the engine. Car is less than 3 years old with low mileage. Why is this going on? oil changes on-time, tires rotated, what is the problem????????? have seen a lot of complaints about several issues that can end up getting someone killed or others hurt. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!also, have to keep buying new tires so the car does not ride so hard and i end up killing the suspension. Tires are costly. Again, helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.

Bought a 2009 chevy aveo last year sept. 2010i am just now having a problem with it.yesterday at the traffic light my car shook and jerked.then the engine service light flashed along with the hold light.i couldn't hardly manage to move my car.i already had the spark plugs check, what could it be?

Blower motor not working low to med speeds. Blower resistor connector and blower motor defective. This is a manufacturer defect. I have been to the dealership 4 times for this same problem. I am very concerned for me and my families safety. I amconcerned about a possible fire because of the blower motor not working correctly. The problem first occurred at 4,900 miles. It continues to fail at my current mileage 16,000.

Headlamp right not working. Bulb replaced. High beams are working. Relay switches are working 10 amp and 15amp fuses are not blown. No recalls on this vehicles are covered by dealership.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. While driving on the highway at an unknown speed, the headlights went out abruptly. There were no warning indicators illuminated before or after the failure. The vehicle was taken to ourisman chevrolet of bowie (16610 governor bridge rd, bowie, md) where it was currently awaiting diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

My dashboard light suddenly went out, at the same time the right tailgate light and the front right light went off. I checked online and a number of people having the exact same problem. It is a wiring issue

I have had to change my headlights 5 times since i bought it in 2010. This time when i changed the front drivers side the harness was burnt and melted.

Left front headlight went dim at night . Replaced the bulb but did not fix the problem . When checking the wire to the bulb noticed burn marks . Front head light has went dim before but the suddenly started working again a while back .

Help!

Both headlights went out and the wires look like they caught fire. The drivers seat belt is alway unbuckling while driving.

The dash lights, shifter lights and all console lights are out.this appears to be a known problem as i have found it all over the chevy forum.is there a recall on this?not real safe especially for my 16 year old daughter.please let me know the fix and if there is a recall i can apply to this not so unique problem

I notice that my left head light when out. I replace the bulb with a high price bulb but headlight was very dim. I then notice that my headlights went out all together and no high beams, but my high beam light indicator on my dashboard is on. Also i my radio display will go in and out sometimes.

Loss in power and almost feels like car is lugging when i am pressing down on the gas it looses power only occurs when the ac or the heater is engaged.

Driving at about 35 mph and the car shut down. No power steering, no brakes and no throttle response. Had to use the emergency brake to get it slowed down and stopped. Took it to the dealer and they required a $100 fee to even look at it because it is a year newer than the ones on recall.

Last year i bought this car in february and march is when the problems started, on i85 coming from durham the car wouldn't let me go no more than 20mph. I have been told the throttle body has been gone bad replaced it several time and i'm still having numerous problems with it and the break line rupturing while coming from raleighi keep good maintenance on my car to not understand why this is happening and yesterday the check engine light comes on again please put this car on recall. This car has stressed me to the max and i can't go places i want anymore!

As a father i am writing this on behalf of my 18yr old daughter.this vehicle has lost steering, brakes and acceleration 3 times over 2 years of ownership.each time has been at low speeds (2mph - 10mph) while driving at low speeds in traffic, the aveo will loose the ability to accelerate, no matter how far the gas pedal is pushed down. The brakes only work slightly, and the pedal is hard push down.the steering is very unresponsive, similar to the brake issue it's hard to steer.while the above 3 issues happen at once, the engine is at idle.to fix, she has to turn the car off and restart.

The vehicle caught fire while travelling at approximately 40 mph on the highway, us route 93 at exit 33, south in massachusetts, and burnt and the gas tank exploded. There was no accident preceding the fire.the vehicle is a total loss.

Got this car brand new off the lot with only 43 miles on it. Around 3000 miles i had my first major problem. I was going down i-95 in st. Paul, mn at around 75 miles/hr and the car jerked then cut off. Mind you this is rush hour traffic and i had 2 toddlers in the car with me. We almost got rear ended by an 18 wheeler before i could get the car to drift to shoulder. Took 3 weeks to fix the fuel pump bc the car was so new they had not made extra parts yet. About a year later i started having electrical problems- onstar not working or randomly turning on, clock resetting itself to random times, dash lights either going out or all staying on, headlights randomly working, and of course i took to 2 different chevy dealers and neither could tell me what was wrong only that it wasn't covered under warranty =/ once the car turned 4 years on it has begun eating fuses and coil packs.

The dash lights, shifter lights and all console lights are out.this appears to be a known problem as i have found it all over the chevy forum.is there a recall on this?not real safe especially for my 16 year old daughter.please let me know the fix and if there is a recall i can apply to this not so unique problem

The lights on the shifter no longer work on my 2009 chevy aveo.more specifically, these are the lights on the shift lever located on the console between the seats.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that as she removed her foot from the brakes in an attempt to leave a traffic stop, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The failure recurred intermittently. The contact stated that prior to the acceleration failure, the cruise control was activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technicians were unable to diagnose the failure and advised that the failure may have been caused by the floor mats. In addition, the electronic door locks were inoperable and was erratic. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo.the contact stated that the front and rear driver's side door handles fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician stated the handles needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the defect.the vin was unavalible. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

I had an issue with the clutch wearing out, at this low of a mileage i assumed that it was covered under warranty. I made an appointment with pape chevrolet in south portland maine, and they told me to bring it in to take a look at it. As i was driving it there to drop it off, the clutch gave out in the middle of an intersection and made a loud cracking or dropping noise. I wasn't able to drive it thereafter, and had to use aaa to tow it to pape. Today i go there and they say that the clutch is a wear item and isn't covered, they also state that the case was cracked and leaking fluid. I asked for a what was covered on the warranty and they became very defensive and said that they couldn't provide me with that and to just look at my manual, they then told me that they wouldn't work on the car and to take it somewhere else. So now it sits at their lot.

The lights on the shifter no longer work on my 2009 chevy aveo.more specifically, these are the lights on the shift lever located on the console between the seats.

You can't drive it anywhere it runs right then for no reason it loose power and won't accalrate while driving it will drop below 10 mph in traffic or lose all power while crossing road or turning i'm afeead i'll b hit in side or ran over in traffic.

Just put it in drive give it gas wont go over 20 mph, put in nutreal it reves up rpms go up and sounds good put back in drive back to 20 mph even when giving it gas no rpms no go just 20 mph wont go any faster. What is going on. This seems to be a problem...

The car just lose acceleration and won't respond to the pressing of acceleration. The engine slow and shaky. It would pickup sometimes after flooring the accelerator couple of times. The check engine also came up after the second occurrence.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact was driving 5 mph to a stop. As he attempted to accelerate, the vehicle began to shake and vibrate excessively. The vehicle was also hesitant to accelerate. The dealer was informed of the failure and a diagnostic test was performed. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.the failure recurred nine times. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 13,000 and the current mileage was 14,200.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact was driving approximately 50-55 mph when the vehicle began to decelerate and drive as if the contact had shifted into neutral. The contact depressed the accelerator and the vehicle was hesitant for a moment before engaging. The contact stated that the failure would occur sporadically at various speed and road conditions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the failure four times yet the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure each time. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,500 and the current mileage was 12,000.

Driving on interstate highway in our new 2009 chevrolet aveo.it has an automatic transmission.the transmission shifter jumped or was slightly bumped (although i don't recall bumping it) from drive into neutral at 65 mph.fortunately able to make it to shoulder to return to drive position (didn't know if going from neutral to drive at high speed would have caused damage).reported problem to auto dealer who said the transmission is normal, does same thing on cobalt model!note: we can push shifter from drive into neutral at any speed without depressing the button on the shifter.has only happened one time so far.

I have a 2009 aveo 4 door with hatchback i bought brand new in april 2010. We have had tons of issues with it. It had a battery leak due to a bad weld job that cracked the battery and acid went throught the engine area (and all over our new home's garage and drive) all the front end has been replaced from the axle, cv boots, lower control arms (just replaced yesterday). This has been an ongoing issue with mulitple trips to the dealer and stays in the shop. Now--new issue---hubby was driving home in stop and go traffic and the car just stopped moving. It was revving up but the car was out of gear so he and his car pool buddy pushed it off the road, shut it off, and then tried to restart it but it did not want to start back up. They walked around it to see if they could see if anything was leaking and looked under the hood and seen nothing out of the ordinary. They got back in and it finally started up after 10 minutes or so and all was fine. Took it to the dealer and when i checked in the guy popped the hood and pulled out the transmission fluid dip stick. He said "no freaking way" over and over again as he put drops of the fluid on his paper and smelled it. He said that the fluid was way dark and smelled burnt and there is no way a car with less the 15,000 miles on it should have that kind of transmission fluid. Well they kept the car overnight called me today to tell me to come and get it that there is nothing wrong with it. That " the tech is unable to verify concern, scanned for codes and bulletins and found none" so therefore there is nothing wrong with it. Next time it jumps out of gear to push the onstar button and have it towed to them and they will see if they can figure it out next time. I have a handicap son and we use that car since it gets great gas mileage to get to the doctor appointments farther away and i do not want to break down on the freeway with him. After reading that our lemon chevy is not alone with this issue you would think gm would.

Both headlights went out and the wires look like they caught fire. The drivers seat belt is alway unbuckling while driving.

Driving at about 35 mph and the car shut down. No power steering, no brakes and no throttle response. Had to use the emergency brake to get it slowed down and stopped. Took it to the dealer and they required a $100 fee to even look at it because it is a year newer than the ones on recall.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. While driving approximately 10 mph, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle began to shake. Also, the vehicle failed to brake which resulted in a crash with another vehicle. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but there was no diagnosis. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 14v460000 (service brakes, hydraulic) but the vin was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,899.

The piston is pushing the brakes and keeping applied all the time. We have replace the calipers, booster and master cylinder. We have replaced the brakes 4 times on the front and twice on the back in 12 month. The car sometime will not go over 20 miles mph due to the brakes. The whole car violently shakes at 50 mph on the highway and you can't control it. We bought the car in june 2015 and one week later we were replacing rear brakes. We bought it from the largest dealership in arkansas, you would have thought they would have checked this out.

My 2009 aveo5 2009. My brakes keep going out. But i am having to replace my wheel bearings 3 times in last 3 years. I don't understand why. I am scared because the back one is now making lots of noise so i know it's another wheel bearing grinding.is this considered in the recall of 2014 on aveo 5 2009.

The contact owned a 2009 chevrolet aveo. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond without warning, which caused the vehicle to crash into another vehicle. In addition, the contact's vehicle continued to accelerate and caused another vehicle to crash into the front driver side. The contact sustained head and shoulder injuries that required medical attention. The passenger sustained head and hand injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the impound lot and back to the contact's residence. The vehicle was destroyed. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v46000 (services brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

On my 2009 chevrolet aveo5: the frame is not properly made (straight). A private repair facility and local dealership have concluded the same, and that it is not repairable. A certain part of the frame near the front end was improperly produced, causing the front end suspension to be unable to perform with reasonable function, and front tires to be unable to be placed on the vehicle properly for suitable control of the vehicle. This causes excessive tire wear, uneven tire wear, and an unreasonably low level of handling control. Beginning mileage 000 because it was made this way, and current mileage is approximately 21500. The vehicle cannot be aligned into any published specifications. There are no published factory specifications for the front-end alignment, which indicates this problem may have been known by the manufacturer since production. The inadequate level of control and excessive amount of uneven tire wear present safety problems in handling, tire failure and possible rollover. This appears to be a consistent problem with the model of the car as a whole, and closer investigation will probably reveal a large number of crashes, injuries, and fatalities sourced directly to improperly placed frame components that are causing the lack of control in combination with tire instability. My 2009 chevy aveo is currently in my possession. The problem has been acknowledged and deemed not repairable by both the private repair facility and dealership. Both have also been confirmed it is not possible to align the car within any published specifications. A case is currently open with the manufacturer on my car, and so far, appears to be progressing properly towards resolution. However, i strongly urge investigation to avoid unnecessary crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Incident date is date problem first identified, but again, the car was made this way, and various symptoms have been present for the life of the car.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated while driving at 35 mph the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the vehicle veered to the right and went into an embankment. The contact also stated that three of the tires became detached from the wheels and the air bag did not deploy. The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph with the cruise control activated, the steering wheel seized and became difficult to maneuver. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a mailbox as a result of the failure. The police appeared on the scene and a report was filed. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer for a diagnostic test. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

My key is stuck in the ignition and doest shut off to take the key out. I had to take the battery cable off so it wouldnt die. I looked up on the web why it would do this and alot of people complained that it happens in 2009 and 10 aveo cars. If thats the case why hasnt chevy done a recall on it.

Driving at about 35 mph and the car shut down. No power steering, no brakes and no throttle response. Had to use the emergency brake to get it slowed down and stopped. Took it to the dealer and they required a $100 fee to even look at it because it is a year newer than the ones on recall.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that dust and debris from the road enters the vehicle. The dust makes it difficult to breath and see when driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer in which a technician stated that because the vents are located in the wheel wells, excessive amounts of dust can enter.he then added that there was no available remedy for the failure. She contacted the manufacturer and was advised by a representative that because the vehicle sits low to the ground, dust intrusion is normal. The failure mileage was 800. The current mileage was 2900.updated 10/13/09.*ljthe consumer received a letter from gm which stated what she was experiencing was normal. By federal law, the vehicle was designed with venting in the trunk over the wheel wells. An excessive amount of use on dirt roads would allow dust to enter the vehicle via the trunk. It also stated the vehicle was low to the ground as well will also contributed to the condition and there was no factory defect with the vehicle. Updated 10/15/09

Interior door handles for front driver and passenger doors snapped off, causing cuts to the passenger and driver.

Took aveo to certified chevy dealer as instructed by gm customer service to have front suspension problem diagnosed. While there, told my tires were worn out at less than 20000 miles. Left front strut and bearing replaced for creaking front end. On drive back to my home, with 500.00 worth of new tires, the creaking is still there.the tires will undoubtedly wear out again. This is a continuing problem with front suspension that gm will not take responsibility for.calling customer service again today. I had tried to get problem fixed while under warranty and was told they couldn't find a problem. Now they seem to be able to. What do i do with this car that can't be fixed?

Last year i bought this car in february and march is when the problems started, on i85 coming from durham the car wouldn't let me go no more than 20mph. I have been told the throttle body has been gone bad replaced it several time and i'm still having numerous problems with it and the break line rupturing while coming from raleighi keep good maintenance on my car to not understand why this is happening and yesterday the check engine light comes on again please put this car on recall. This car has stressed me to the max and i can't go places i want anymore!

When making turns, going over bumps or parking with the wheels side-ways, the front end of the vehicle makes a growling/roaring/grinding sound.

2009 chevrolet aveo. Consumer states vehicle prematurely wears out tires, prematurely wears out shocks and struts and consumer states vehicledoes not hold alignment *tgw the consumer stated the rear of the vehicle jumped to the right when going down a straight and level road with no wind.also, the left rear axle was replaced.

Bought the new from dealership ib 2009 by october 2010 had to buy new tires.tires had prematurely wore out.again in 2012 having same problems with tires wearing out too soon.

While driving turning left at an intersection passenger rear tire hub and with whole tire broke off. Towing company and mechanic informed me that this is due to defected car part.

Update on problems with chevy aveo 2009. After control arm, bearings, strut ,tires replaced in april, the car still has major creaking in the front end. Customer assistance and local dealer are both backing away from further help trying to get car fixed.customer assistance says gm doesn't "owe" me a car to drive during repairs and his advice is to go to dealer and get repairs done," your warranty has expired". I now have a car with 21700 miles on it,that hasn't been fixed, and i am thinking probably can't be,due to mfg.,design problems.what to do with a car like this,if it isn't recalled.

2009 chevrolet aveo. Consumer states continued problem with vehicle tires *tgwthe consumer stated he had to replace the tires every 20,000 miles. The tires were rotated and balanced every 6,000 miles and the air pressure was checked every week.

This is the third entry made trying to get the front end creaking noises from my car fixed by gm. Last week the dealer had my car from tuesday until friday and thought the noise had been fixed.of course, when driven home,it was still there. The noise can only be heard at slow speeds,as in parking the car,or going over speed bumps.strut and both bearings have been changed, also a control arm. I am afraid this is a design flaw that is unfixable,i have been trying since last summer, and the warranty is gone. Is it ever admitted that a car has been sold, new, that should not have been. This car has worn out a set of tires at 20000 miles, and they had been rotated regularly.although,so far,gm has cooperated,i don't know how this is going to be resolved.

In spring,2012, aveo front end started loud creaking noise when turning, going over bumps. Took to certified chevy dealer in june to have problem taken care of(under warranty),they said they could find nothing wrong. Warranty ran out in january,2013. Noise got much worse.called gm who said take it to dealer for inspection, which i would have to pay for. Took on april 5,2013. Struts and bearing need to be replaced, car has less than 20,000 miles on it. I now know this problem is recurring, and seemingly can't be permanently fixed,a design flaw that gm refuses to acknowledge. I am not a single complainant concerning this expensive malfunction.

Noisey, rusty hinge sound from front suspension. When googled, it appears to be a common complaint.

Had to replace suspension tie rods, po171 struts, tires 3 times and now a vacuum leak. Bought car in 2010. Car hesitates when driving and take off.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated the front tires were replaced four times . The dealer advised the failure was due to the contact driving aggressively. The tires were replaced with 8,621 miles. The contact stated all four tires needed replacing at 15,018 miles. The contact believed that the failure was caused by the front suspension yet when contacting the manufacturer, the contact was advised that the tires were wearing as they were designed.

Coolant temperature engine heating up

While driving turning left at an intersection passenger rear tire hub and with whole tire broke off. Towing company and mechanic informed me that this is due to defected car part.

The vehicle caught fire while travelling at approximately 40 mph on the highway, us route 93 at exit 33, south in massachusetts, and burnt and the gas tank exploded. There was no accident preceding the fire.the vehicle is a total loss.

Bought used the end of august 2010.started having an issue with the car in october 2010.while driving the car would suddenly lose power.example going 45 the car would quit accelerating and wouldn't go faster than 5-10 mph.no matter how hard you push the accelerator the car won't go.the tachometer revs up and down but the car won't go.i have had the car in on several occasions and always get the same answer.they can't find anything wrong.in october 2010 the dealership cleaned the injectors and throttle body at a cost of $193.80.didn't fix problem. In november 2010 they replaced the o2 sensors.fixed the problem until i took the car in for a recall on the ignition coil and boots on june 21,2012.the car started having the same problems.took it back on june 25,2012.they couldn't find anything wrong.the car has continued to have this problem on and off.took it back to dealership on may 22,2013 and again after keeping the car for a week they still can't find anything wrong.today, june 24 2013, the car is doing it again.this is very dangerous.when it quits accelerating there are no brake lights.in heavy traffic this is a problem.someone is going to get hurt or worse.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. While driving the vehicle at a slow speed, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The dealer stated that they are unable to duplicate the failure. The contact was concerned since they were driving out of the driveway, which was on an incline. The vehicle continued to accelerate after taking her foot off of the accelerator pedal. The failure mileage was 25000 and the current mileage was 50000. Updated 10/05/10 the consumer stated the problem has worsened. The dealer claimed it was normal. Updated 10/07/10

The contact stated while driving various speeds and merging onto a highway when the accelerator pedal was engaged he was unable to increase speed.after coasting to the side of the road in order for the vehicle to reset the vehicle was taken to a dealer who advised him that there was a wire loose on the sensor for the acceleration. The loose wire was repaired. Approximately 4 months later the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000. The vin was unavailable.

I was driving up hwy 31 in columbus and my car was like it wasn't getting gas.the engine continued to run.i pushed the accelerator to the floor and it made a connection again in approximately 1 minute.this happened twice and i took it to poynter chevrolet in seymour.nothing showed up on the computer and they kept my car 3 days and could not get it to duplicate the problem.my car was only doing this once a week, now it is doing it most of the time.you have no warning that it is going to slow up, only moving from the momentum of the previous speed.i looked on the computer at "problems with chevy aveos" and there are several people on the internet with the same problem.i called chevrolet and they said they only do recalls from calls from mechanics who have fixed the same problem several times.how can i get this fixed if they don't know what is causing the problem?this could cause a fatal accident several ways so i'm afraid to drive the car.if i am on the highway going 70 mph and the car decides to just quit, i could get hit.if i'm making a left hand turn and there is on coming traffic i could get hit.i have a 2009 chevy aveo and i am afraid to drive it.please look at the internet at all the other owners having the same problem.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. While driving 20, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the speed control sensor and accelerator pedal failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred numerous times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.s the failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

At any given time, during normal driving conditions the vehicle loses power and reduce speed without warrant, the rpm gauge will show at least 3 fluctuations of speed from 500 to about 3000 rpm when this occurs. Attempts to step on the gas pedal will not correct the situation. Second reaction from the driver would be to step on the brake pedal, and the vehicle will try to accelerate on its own. The vehicle will also stall if this occurs when being stopped at a traffic light and trying to accelerate.the dealer could not duplicate the failure in any of the three instances the vehicle was taken to them. Current mileage 13,421.

In august 2014, i purchased a used 2009 chevrolet aveo for my daughter. The vehicle had low mileage (16k) and, according to carfax, two previous owners with no reported maintenance problems. I had the car inspected by my local chevrolet dealership before finalizing the purchase from a nissan dealership and there were no problems detected. On the date in of the incident, my daughter was traveling on the highway coming home for spring break. She was driving approximately 68 mph when the car began to decelerate - the speed dropped from 68 to 58, then from 58 to 48, then, when the speed dropped to 38 mph and the car repeatedly failed to respond when she pressed the accelerator to regain speed, she was forced to pull over to the side of the road. She called me and described the problem. She waited about 5 minutes and then cranked the car again. The car did respond when she pressed the accelerator so she thought everything was okay and merged off the side of the road back into the flow of traffic on the highway.the car speed topped out at 45mph and then began decelerating. She pulled over to the side of the road again.she waited another 5 minutes. She again cranked the car and pressed the accelerator. The car would not move although the rpm needle moved appropriately. At that point, she called onstar and arranged for a tow truck to pick up the car. The vehicle was taken to a nearby chevy dealership. The service manager verified the problem. Their recommendation was to replace the transmission in a car with only 1900 mileson it.

You can't drive it anywhere it runs right then for no reason it loose power and won't accalrate while driving it will drop below 10 mph in traffic or lose all power while crossing road or turning i'm afeead i'll b hit in side or ran over in traffic.

Engine light came on while driving and car started to slow down. It can't be throttled beyond 10-15 mph, so pulled over. Took it to closest auto parts shop and the code reader came up with p2101/p2135 indicating there is a potential problem with 'throttle' functionality. This problem was reported by gm eng. Team and there is a technical service bulletin with the same model but gm is not considering to fix the issue with my car as it is out of warranty. This is a serious safety concern and expect gm to help fixing it. It is same as nhtsa 10034366.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that while driving at any speed the vehicle would unexpectedly decelerate, surge forward and then shake while slowing down. The contact would have to apply repeated pressure to the accelerator pedal in order to continue driving at a normal rate of speed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed an engine coil and cylinder head failed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 16,000 and the current mileage was 17,000.

Car idles rough and shudders in park and while stopped at traffic signals. Car has died at stops numerous times but usually starts again with no problem. When driving at all speeds and depressing the gas the car has no response or loses power and will not accelerate, then the rpms shoot up and the car lunges forward. This is dangerous! replaced the maf sensor thinking this could be the issue. This did not correct the problem and car is still acting up. Intermittent failure. No trouble codes and no check engine light.

Just put it in drive give it gas wont go over 20 mph, put in nutreal it reves up rpms go up and sounds good put back in drive back to 20 mph even when giving it gas no rpms no go just 20 mph wont go any faster. What is going on. This seems to be a problem...

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. While driving at 35 mph, the vehicle would accelerate without warning. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the spark plug and the air filter were replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,000.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal was depressed most of the time or the vehicle accelerated before the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the cause of the failure was undetermined. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 129,000. The vin was not provided. Updated 11/19/18

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet aveo. When driving at speeds of at least 35 mph, the vehicle would lose power and decrease in speed without warrant. The contact would apply constant, steady pressure to the accelerator pedal until the vehicle would regain speed and resume normal operation. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted but did not provide any further assistance. The failure and current mileages were 10,682.

Our son had a car accident on high i -49 n, the air bags did not deploy. The brakes would not break. He substained head ,neck trauma , back and leg in the vehicle.

I bought brand new landsail tires on 05/09/2016 and the right front passenger tire has worn out at 3,967 miles. I was driving on a city street when i noticed the car showing its low tire pressure light and the tire was making noise. I pulled to the side of the road and noticed the tire was completely destroyed, wires showing, and the damage was what caused the tire to go flat and the light to come on. I had to replace the front tires and the mechanic put the exact same brand of tire on the car. The mechanic said it wasn't an alignment issue, that they didn't know what would cause the tire to go bad in under 4,000 miles.

Tpms system is defective, can not be reset or relearned/reprogrammed by dealers.need replacement of software within ecu or tpms module, after import from gm korea daewoo plants.software issues?

My 2009 aveo5 2009. My brakes keep going out. But i am having to replace my wheel bearings 3 times in last 3 years. I don't understand why. I am scared because the back one is now making lots of noise so i know it's another wheel bearing grinding.is this considered in the recall of 2014 on aveo 5 2009.
