I received a notice in the mail about a possible recall of the takata airbags.
Dashboard cracked in 4 places 2 around airbag and 2 in center
The dash cracked near the passenger airbag. The vehicle was stationary at the time of the crack.
Passenger side of dash has cracks adjacent to and connected to passenger dash air bag compartment.
Rubbing sound when turning the steering wheel, fixed when car was under warranty, was told it was the air bag. Rubbing sound has returned. Also there are several cracks in the dashboard, which could be hazardous if the airbags were to deploy during a front end collision.
The dash is cracked at multiple places including up to the airbag. I was told by the people who repairs windshield that this is a know problem for avalanche, silverado suburban.this is clearly a manufacturer defect and should be a recallthey are quoting me a $1497 repair fee to replace the dash at the dealer. I contacted chevrolet for assistance. They offered a $130 good will....
The dashboard cracked and broke right by the passenger side airbag, which could cause serious injury if airbags ever deploy
Takata recall: 2013 chevy avalanche ltzcracking and separating dashboard along with rattling around the passenger side airbag housing.safety hazard!!
My dash board has cracks and i am concerned that should the air bag go off in an accident the cracked dash may cause injury beyond normal.it has been noted that there are numerous complaints on the internet about this issue.i call to complain on the official gm hotline and was dismissed by the interviewer.
Cracked dash passenger side by air bag.also drivers side cracked dash above instrument panel. This vehicle has been garage kept most of the time.this cracked dash may not let air bags deploy properly and prone to pieces of dash flying as potential lethal weapons as sharp pieces could cause puncture wounds, eyes blinded, cartoid artery hit etc. First noticed after vehicle had just been setting the first crack started.drivers side came next , and it is extremely cracked. Vibrates and makes obnoxious noise. It is distracting to driver.
Garage kept 2013 chevrolet avalanche that developed cracked dashboard in 3 locations including the passenger airbag area. Garage kept 37k mile vehicle
My daughter owns this vehicle and tried many times to get her dashboard repaired as a warranty issue with no luck.everyone told her it was not their problem and there was no recall issued for this.i was driving her truck today and noticed there are now 5 cracks in the dashboard.the 1st and 2nd crack happened about 2017 while parking out of the sun, in a parking garage.the dash rattles constantly and at 1 location the dash is almost cracked in half.speaking with several other owners they all say the same.there appears to be no recall and and none of the dealerships say it's not there problem. There is no recall.we live in south louisiana and my main concern is safety of my daughter and her passengers.is there a recall?was there a recall that we were not notified?and will there be a recall?also what happens, god forbid, she is driving down the road, hits a bump in the road, and her airbags deploy?and this causes her to hit someone, causes harm to herself or someone else or possibly kills someone?this concerns me more than i can communicate to you. One thing i failed to mention, every dealership did offer to repair or replace the dash, at our cost of course.please let me know what my next step should be. Thank you for your time.i look forward to hearing from you with some sort of solution. I'm not exactly sure when it started, but it was fine this summer (i estimated 11/10/18 below).the dashboard has cracked in two spots - drivers side near instrument panel hump, and passenger side near airbag.the cracks are continuing to get larger and the dashboard has stated to vibrate and rattle.i am concerned about a safety hazard in an accident.
There is crack from the edge of the airbag across the dash to the defroster. I've researched this and discovered it could potentially send shrapnel if the airbags are deployed. I've contacted my dealership and they said it is not a covered part under the extended warranty. I've also contacted chevrolet directly to see if they would fix this issue. I just heard back from them and they said they will not rectify the issue. I didn't witness the crack happening so i couldn't elaborate on whether the vehicle was in motion or just parked.
I purchasedthe vehicle new and aftersome time my dashboard started cracking breaking up around passenger side air bag and just above instrument panel on drivers side its and getting worse
I received a letter back in feb of 2021 advising us about the passenger airbag recall. I was to wait until parts come in from gm. After months of waiting, and confirmation of others that already got the repair done, i went ahead and scheduled the recall replacement with gm themselves, which in turn set it up with ron norris gmc in town. Even though i set this up a couple weeks ago and have received text and email confirmations reminding me of the appointment, i just received a call from ron norris, i was on the way to their dealership to have this recall taken care, telling me gm does not have the part for my truck and did not give me any more information about it. This is a serious issue and i have given them plenty of time to have it replaced. You ordered them to do this and after months they still do not have parts, they are dragging their feet on something that could kill the passenger of my vehicle. Could you please push them to get the part as i do not feel safe having a passenger ride in my truck now. If something happens i will hold you and gm responsible for the delays.
Message center says service trailer brake system. Chevrolet dealership says problem not covered by recall.
Check engine light lit.showing codes p069e and p0614.this is the same symptom from recall# 14515 (fuel pump control module) due to internal corrosion.my vin# was not included. The code started shortly after starting to drive the car.
Stabilitrak and traction control lights keep coming on and check engine light.loses power and stability while going uphill or accelerating. Gm service out of warranty. Looked at possible recalls none available. Noticed alot of issues regarding 5.3 v8 from 2010 to 2013 gm models. Excessive oil consumption also. Do i just pay for a new engine or is anyone doing anything about this oversight by gm?thousands of complaints but no accountability.
My chevy avalanche has a generation for vortex 5300 engine we are using at least a quarter volt in between oil changes also the oil monitoring system is allowing me to drive and to operate the vehicle without adequate oil because the oil gauge is not reading when the oil is ready to be changed. This has been happening since the day we purchased it new in 2013 we were told by the dealership that this is typical of this engine i'm now finding out that it is not and that it is involved in a class action lawsuit and i need to be documented in that lawsuit.

3rd brake light holding water (condensation) inside. Replaced under warranty 5 times. Vehicle not garaged (sits outdoors all the time) still leaks, not under warranty any longer. First repair 18 sept 2014, second repair 25 nov 2014, third replacement may 15, 2015, fourth replacementjuly 15 2015, fifth dec 3 2015
3rd brake light does not work has water inside. No bulb to change you have to change out the whole tail light.
Trying to get inspection was told sealed third brake light has water in light causing failure of light to function as required by law. How does a sealed led light get water in it. Cost will exceed well over $700.00. For a part that will fail again after seeing other complaints. This could result in a serious accident with brake light failure! i have va state police rejection sticker about 3rd light failure

Crack in dash from airbag corner diagonal through dash.

Takata recall: 2013 chevy avalanche ltzcracking and separating dashboard along with rattling around the passenger side airbag housing.safety hazard!!
Dash board around passenger airbag and above speedometer is broken / cracked airbag deployment maybe compromised while deploying due to plastic dash crack slicing the airbag while actuating
The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet avalanche. The contact stated that a crack appeared on the dashboard that extended to the steering wheel. The dealer (bees chevrolet, 2100 old u.s. 27 st johns, mi 48879) stated that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
The interior dash components have cracking problems. My truck now has a broken clip which is a sign the whole thing is about to crack like so many others. Once it cracks these prices can become projectiles in an accident. I understand the truck is 5 years old but my concern replacing the dash is that gm has not used a new material and the same thing happens again and again.
Door handle bolt anchors breaking and failing.both read door handles have had to be replaced.when they fail the door handle pulls out from the door panel and eventually will break apart.
Instrument panel (dashboard) cracked in two places. One by the passenger side airbag and the other right above the steering wheel. From what i investigated, this seems to be a rather common issue.
Recently purchased vehicle from a local dealer. Didn't notice at the time that the dashboard was cracked. It's a continuous rattle now that appears to be getting larger.
Interior door pull disintegrating more and more each day with no way to replace just this pull handle. It is made with very cheap white plastic. Eventually the door will not be able to close by using this handle and you will end up hurting your hand using another part of the door to close.
Dashboard crack at left front corner of passenger side front airbag.vehicle was stationary. Fear that crack will puncture airbag upon deployment.dashboard plastic way too thin.
Dash board by passenger air bag has a crack and apparently it happens to all gm trucks of this type and model
Dashboard is cracking.could result in plastic separating in accident on deployment of air bags.
Dashboard cracks. One crack is on the driver's side of the dashboard and is getting worse as time goes on. It is moving towards the top of the instrument cluster. The second crack is at the top corner of the airbag on the passenger side of the dashboard. These cracks are well documented online with pictures and testimonials. This is an obvious defect and very concerning being on the corner of an airbag. This could be a real safety hazard.i noticed the cracks one morning when i got in my car. Seems like they happened at the same time. As is documented by other owners of gm products, the center speaker puts weight in the center of the dash and moved up and down when going over bumps or uneven streets. It never seemed secure, as in what's supporting it under the dash. My guess is this is causing a lot of their cracked dashes. Now the dash vibrates on uneven pavement and makes a lot of noise.

Dashboard has significantly cracked in 2 placeswith no cause. Truck only has 39000 miles on it andis garaged all the time and does not sit in sunlight ever. Dealer denies any defect after multiple interactions.
Dashboard cracking and pieces coming free and present safety hazard - sharp edges. - paid to repair. Dash cracked again.interior door handles break and prevent egress from vehicle - 4 times twice on front drive side, once front passenger side and once on rear passenger side.extremely unsafe situation - paid to repair all 4 times.door pull broken on driver and passenger front door prevents proper closing of door. - still broken.only remedy according to gm is to replace entire door panel.
Dash board crack - for no apparent reason.vehicle is parked in garage 90% of the time.
Cracked dashboard, just got in the truck and saw the cracks
Takata recall: 2013 chevy avalanche ltzcracking and separating dashboard along with rattling around the passenger side airbag housing.safety hazard!!
Instrument panel (dashboard) cracked in two places. One by the passenger side airbag and the other right above the steering wheel. From what i investigated, this seems to be a rather common issue.
2013 chevy avalanche with 100k miles has cracks in dashboard (on right just above air bag) and (on left just above instrument cluster) ... Happened overnight - one day fine / next day cracked ... Looks like a safety hazard to me.
Cracks started appearing on the corners of the airbag in the dash or over the instrument panel. I have contacted the dealer and gm directly with no luck just an estimate to fix. This issue is a defect in design and remains safety issue for all owner of these vehicles. If i would be in an accident, the broken dash pieces could impact the occupants and cause additional injurys.
Cracked dashboard on top of airbag. Safety issue if airbag deploys.
Door handles.driver door, failed 2 times, front passenger side failed 1 time, rear passenger side failed 1 time.could not enter or exit the vehicle via door with failed hardware. Occupants had to exit vehicle via an alternative door. The fix was to replace the door handle each time.i've been told by the dealership as well as an autobody shop that this is a common issue with the chrome handles.cost to date spent repairing this issue is in excess of $800
Dashboard cracked on right side radiated from the right airbag panel... I got in the truck and all was well.. Got home and saw the crack.. I felt it was a safety issue and went to my dealer and had it fixed.. Cost $900+/-..seeing how many reports of the same issue it seems gm should pick up all of the costs...
Dash cracked over passenger side airbag.
The dashboard cracked soon after i purchased the vehicle and the dealership said that it's not a safety issue for them to look into. It's such a distraction while driving when this shouldn't have happen being i bought this vehicle for the stand up value and reputation of chevy. I got into my truck after being parked in my job parking lot after a long day at work and to come out to see my dashboard cracked. The quality of chevy has to improve and this may cause accidents and not to mention the chevy name to be tarnished cause the lack of concern for there dedicated customers.
The dashboard cracked and broke right by the passenger side airbag, which could cause serious injury if airbags ever deploy
Dash has large crack over gauge panel. After researching found that several thousands of gm vehicles have had this issue with no recourse from gm.costing owners over 2,000.00 to repair.
Several cracks have appeared in the dash board causing the dash to rattle.
I noticed about 6 years ago my dash starting to crack on my 2013 avalanche it has now cracked completely across and come towards the steering wheel which to me is a safety hazard i did notice that there had been a class action lawsuit but it was denied but i still think it is a safety hazard when i'm driving i hit a bump it cracks more eventually it's going to crack and fall into my lap
I purchasedthe vehicle new and aftersome time my dashboard started cracking breaking up around passenger side air bag and just above instrument panel on drivers side its and getting worse
I purchased my 2013 chevy avalanche less than a year ago.based on the carfax report, i know it came from sunny/hot florida before i purchased it from a dealer in pa. Over this past winter however, we had an extreme cold spell (single digit temperatures for a couple weeks back to back).during this cold spell, my commute to work has me go over a couple sets of rain road tracks, and when i went over the tracks, a small crack up by the speaker became a huge crack almost overnight.its continued to just further rip and rip at that hard plastic casing so that now my crack extends from the front dash vents to that speaker cover, and then from the other side of the speaker cover up towards the windshield.it rattles/vibrates terribly just going down the road, and when i go over the train tracks, it separates and have to 'pop it' back into place each time. Very upsetting on what was my 2013 black diamond edition'dream truck'. :(
Cracks in dashboard may be dangerous when and if airbags deploy. Cracks happen while vehicle was stationary
The dash has cracked above the instrument panel, in an accident this could be a hazard. My vehicle has always been garage kept. I'm not sure when this happened, it has never been involved in an accident. This happened when my vehicle was stationary
Dash board cracking in 3 spots, near passengers air bag,and 2 spots by speaker
Crack in dash from airbag corner diagonal through dash.
The dashboard cover has cracks in the plastic.
My dash board has cracks and i am concerned that should the air bag go off in an accident the cracked dash may cause injury beyond normal.it has been noted that there are numerous complaints on the internet about this issue.i call to complain on the official gm hotline and was dismissed by the interviewer.
Two small cracks started in my dash near the defrost hole, and now its spread all the way up onto the top of my steering/dash board instrument panel. It was not caused by hitting anything and just keeps getting bigger and rattling/shaking when i drive
Dash has cracked as with many others experiencing the same issue.
Garage kept 2013 chevrolet avalanche that developed cracked dashboard in 3 locations including the passenger airbag area. Garage kept 37k mile vehicle
Cracking of the dash around the passenger airbag and above the instrument cluster. Worried in the case of an accident, dash will shatter and send small or large pieces throughout the cabin which may also tear airbags making them useless.
Dashboard crack for no reason, repair cost over $1800
2013 chevy avalanche dashboard cracking, passenger side around airbag, i am afraid of airbag deployment and pieces wrongfully killing my child
Rubbing sound when turning the steering wheel, fixed when car was under warranty, was told it was the air bag. Rubbing sound has returned. Also there are several cracks in the dashboard, which could be hazardous if the airbags were to deploy during a front end collision.

Dash has 2 cracks in it from the windshield to the instrument panel
Dashboard cracked in 4 places 2 around airbag and 2 in center
Dashboard crack on passenger side near airbag compartment. Crack on driver side left side of steering wheel. Unknown reason for these cracks.
Poor dash design that cracked when the vehicle hit 45,000 miles. It poses a safety concern if the airbag deploys because the crack is in the corner surrounding the air bag.neither gm or the extended warranty company will cover the cost of repairs.neither seems concerned about the safety, but why should they because it's not their family assuming any risk.

The wipers started going slow then stopped blocking view. Checking online everyone seems to believe the wiper systems transmission points are failing. This is very dangerous when it's raining and you lose your wipers.
