Takata recall ; cracked dash

Another faulty gm dashboard.flaps around while driving - center clip blown out with no structural support to hold two pieces together.leading cause of dashboard cracking in similar gm vehicles.concern over air bag effectiveness on account of this issue.

Takata recall:recall number: 16v381myself, my wife and kids drive my 2010 chevy avalanche. We live in a region with high summer temps, along with very high humidity levels. I am concerned for the safety of my entire family. What do i do now? for gm to not have a remedy available to replace the faulty airbags is unacceptable. When will this takata airbag issue be resolved? how can i, in good conscience allow my family to drive this truck?

Cracked dash in multiple areas around the front airbags.

Dash cracking next to the passenger airbag due a manufacture's defect of poor quality material with little to no support underneath the dash and with every small bump in the road it becomes worse and worse. Dash appears to be made of an inferior material and is not supported properly for it to crack so easily. If the air bag inflates, the dashboard may easily shatter into thousands of shards of sharp plastic that could be a cause of serious injury or death. Many of the thousands of people that have this same problem have said they have had the dash replaced, only to have it crack again. Gm should be 100% responsible for fixing all of their defective dashboards with a good quality product since this is obviously a manufacturer defect.

Takata recall.remedy not available???come on guys! just replace the passenger airbag before someone gets hurt!

My dash started cracking around the airbag and above the gauge cluster. Numerous other owners have had identical cracks which we believe could cause shrapnel in case of air bag deployment.

The dash is cracked in 3 places 2 of which are near the passenger air bag that could possibly affect the deployment.

Thus far, nothing has "happened" with my vehicle, but there has been a recall in effect for the airbags in my vehicle for well over a year and nothing has been done to replace the airbags.i am also having some electrical problems with my trucknot shutting off when i remove the key, and the interior dome lights will not turn on when the button is pressed (this has all began since the recall was initiated but not taken care of).i just want my airbags replaced, as they are supposed to be, given the recall, and if the recalled parts are responsible for the additional problems i am now having with my truck, i want those addressed and repaired as well.the length of time this has taken to address is beyond unreasonable and i have been as patient as i can be waiting for this recalled part to be replaced.

Dashboard is cracked on both upper corners of the passenger side of front airbag. Dash rattles and shakes when driving vehicle.scared that the airbag will deploy!

Dashboard cracked in 2 locations, under 50,000 miles on vehicle. One crack located near passenger side air bag that could be dangerous in a crash and effect air bag deployment. Large scale of identical design defects in other similar vehicles and chevrolet will not replace the damaged component without significant cost to owners and if replaced with only have the same problem again as flaw has not been corrected in replacement component.

Cracked dashboard keeps geting worse, service airbags lights now on. Ive had nummerous service suspension issues and had already fixed a thrttle tps sensor tat left me stranded on a day it was 0 degrees outside get gm accountable!!!

The dash board on my 2010 avalanche has two cracks one rightbeside the passenger airbag and the other right over the steering wheel .in case of an accident i'm sure the dash would explode anddebris/plastic from the dash sharp pieces would fly into someone's face .

Dash is cracked above instrument panel and also cracked by passenger airbag compartment.

Each time i brought the vehicle the vehicle in to have it repaired, the dealer says there are no parts.each time i check the vin site, it tells me that there is no remedy available.when will gm repair these defective airbags? the vehicle is still being used for normal family uses.

Takata recall has not been resolved. In addition the dash panel is cracked next to the passengers side airbag.

If this part(s) are defective gm should replace immediately. What is the hold up in getting it done and keeping people safe?

Dashboard crack in the corner of the passenger side airbag.

For no apparent reason, my dash started cracking next to the passenger airbag at around 48,000 miles. The large crack began to spread across the dash until, after a few months, it was all the way across to the steering wheel. Now small cracks are beginning to spider out. There seems to be no support underneath the dash and with every small bump in the road it becomes worse and worse. The dash must be made of an inferior material for it to crack so easily. If the air bag does inflate, the dashboard could burst into thousands of sharp pieces that could be a cause of serious injury or death. I have gotten a repair estimate to replace the dash for $1,500. However, some of the thousands of people that have this same problem say they have had the dash replaced, only to have it crack again. Gm has offered to pay half of the replacement cost if i have it repaired within 60 days, but they should be responsible for fixing all of their defective dashboards with a good quality product at 100% since this is obviously a manufacturer defect.

"takata recall"there seems to be no fix at our local dealer, but yet we are at risk!

Takata recall of may 27, 2016.dealership was contacted today and two previoustimes since i received the recall letter and has advised me that no solution or parts to repair my recalled vehicle are available.

Dash is cracking around and connecting to the airbag. Very concerned about this safety risk if the vehicle were to be in an accident.

Dashboard containing passenger side is severely cracked.in the event of an airbag deployment, dashboard may prevent proper operation of airbag or may shatter resulting in parts of the dashboard being projectiles towards the occupants of the vehicle.gm dealer cost to replace dashboard is prohibitive.the dashboards should be replaced with new style that gm dealer claims no longer cracks or the airbag disabled.

"takata recall" - remedy not available at this time per the dealership

The dash in my chevrolet avalanche has become more and more loose where the two main dash pieces connect, or so i thought. Clearly the middle speaker in the dash is too heavy for one of the pieces (seat facing piece) and it broke the snap that "held" the two of them together. After realizing exactly what was happening, i wanted to get it fixed but really did not know who to turn to.in one of the pictures you can clearly see where a piece of the dash has actually broken and it has fallen into the inner/underneath of the dash and i do not know where it went. Now, both sides (the airbag corner where it all started and just at the end of the steering wheel rise in the dash) the plastic is cracking. The airbag side is clearly worse than the steering wheel side. How do i get this fixed? is there a recall on this? how much does something like this cost?

During the calendar year 2016, i have experienced two(2) severe dashboard cracks.one crack in front of my instrument cluster occurred while driving as i heard it "crack".the other crack appeared on the passenger side above the air bag panel.i am not sure when this crack appeared, but concerns me relative to the air bag operation/safety.i have drilled holes at the end of the crack on the driver side in an attempt to stop the progression, but the crack continues to get larger.the dash apparently is becoming brittle and the cracks are continuing to grow.i can only assume that soon i will have pieces of the dash come off exposing electrical wiring and components below the dash.dueto the safety concerns and appearance aspects, i am having the dash replaced by my dealership at a cost to me ofalmost $1,000.i have seen many complaints of this component defect on the internet, and am surprised that gm does not issue a recall.

The dashboard has cracked in 2 locations.the 1st runs into the corner of the passenger airbag compartment.the 2nd is over the instrument cluster and now i have a check engine light on.not sure yet of the 2 are related.the first crack just seemed to appear.the 2nd crack (which is much worse now) i could hear it crack when i started the engine sitting still.

I have had my chevrolet avalanche dashboard repaired twice for cracking/rattling.the issue seems to be that the clasp underneath the center speaker of the dash is faulty and breaks easily.this causes the rattling which causes the cracking.the cracks appear right above the instrument gauge and the passenger airbag.the concern is that if cracked badly enough, it could send pieces of plastic everywhere in the case of an airbag deployment.gm will not fix the issue.

I own a 2010 chevrolet avalanche ltz that was purchased used in 2015 (38,000 miles with a small crack just above the air bag to the left, right at the corner of the air bag on the dash board. Since i've had the vehicle, it has cracked more over time to a longer length on the left and right corner and left of the steering column. The vehicle is up kept but the dash board keeps cracking. Im noticing the multiple vehicle avalanche's have this same problem and why hasnt it been resolved or a recall been placed.

I am concerned that there are no replacements for the faulty takata airbags.i called the dealership, and they told me there was nothing they could do.they would not even have an airbag replacement at my own expense to replace the faulty takata airbags. Do i have to be killed or someone else in my truck killed before something is done?

Dash cracked in multiple locations, one over the instrument panel, second one upper left of passenger airbag, third one upper right of same airbag.center clip on main part of dash behind speaker broke off due to poor design/cheap material.first noticed dash vibrating when vehicle in motion on highway, downhill from there.took to dealer and gm, unwilling to repair/replace without $.quick search shows it to be a major issue in 2007+ avalanches, suburbans, tahoes, escalades, sierras, silverados.not sure what impact these cracks will have on airbag deployment/passenger safety.

I have just received a card in the mail about the takata airbag recall. I have had the vehicle in the shop for oil changes at reliable chevolet and have been told that there is a recall notice for this vehicle but there is no part to replace. I have looked up my vin number in a web site named www.airbagrecall.com to determine if my vehicle is on the list. My 2010 chevolet avalance is on the list. I am not sure how to proceed since the dealer tells me that there is no replacement part available. I also have a tire symbol appear on my driver's screen. I have spoken to the dealer who indicated that nothing can been diagnosed until the symbol remains permanent.

Crack appeared in dash while truck was parked coming from the passenger side airbag location. The bag may catch on the crack if it was deployed.

Dashboard cracked at corner of airbag.possible risk of bodily injury with deployment of airbag on passenger side

This recall has been pending since gmc filed a petition for inconsequentiality with nhtsa.the status provided to owners is information which hasn't been updated since 2017. It's almost 2021. This is ridiculous. What was bhtsa's decision on the petition filed in 2017?

Takata recall - failure to replace this defective airbag.status of recall has been remedy not yet available since may 27, 2016.

Recently the dashboard of my truck keeps cracking and everyday more cracks appear or the ones that are already visible, just keep getting worse. I am concerned for my passengers as well as my own safety because the cracks of the dashboard are right next to where the airbag would deploy. The cracks can affect the deployment of my airbag with the possibility of injury worse then if the airbag were to deploy correctly. I am also concerned that if i were to get into an accident, that these cracked pieces of the dashboard would beprojected from the dash and can do further harm to my passengers and or myself.

The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact contacted (terry cullen southlake chevrolet dealership ((770) 968-4444 located at 1250 battle creek rd, jonesboro, ga 30236) where it was confirmed that the remedy part was not available. The manufacturer was not contacted and made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Cracked upper end of dash board. Three separate cracks appeared on the upper part of thedash, one is going right across where the passenger air bag is located. This happened for no apparent reason. The vehicle had about 89000 miles on it when i first observed the issue. It rattles like crazy while driving on city roads and it is probably a mojor safety issue in the event of a air bag deployment.

Part is not available from chevy need help asap critical recall lifes metter

I purchased my vehicle in hanford ca at keller motors.they tell me they cannot replace airbags because they don't have replacements.

Airbag recall has been open since 2016 without a remedy.

Asking if anyone knows about the 2010 chevy avalanche and the ecm problems that alot of people are having ,the check engine light came on and the display showed reduced engine power, service traction control, and service stabilitrak. It would not go in gear , nor would it start , this had happened to the truck three times now , the first time it would not go into gearandit stopped and would not start at all , so i took the negative battery cable off for 30 minute and it fixed it . The second time all the light and buzzers went off , i had lack of power and the check engine light came on and the display showed reduced engine power, service traction control, and service stabilitrakwhile i was driving it soi took it home , i was lucky that i didn't get in a wreck because it dropped drastically in speed all at once , again i took of the cable , and went to have the diagnostic reading done at a parts store, the next day i drove it to my mechanicand he cleared all the history on itand told me to call when it happens again , it seems that the 2010 avalanche has this problem alot , so today it happened again , for no reason ,

I was on vacation and had my avalanche running while i packed it up to return home.after about 5 minutes of running idle, the check engine light came on and the display showed reduced engine power, service traction control, and service stabilitrak.this had happened to the truck three times before and each time they replaced the accelerator pedal positional sensor.(i also had a 2007 chevrolet tahoe, and after having it repaired seven times for failing sensors and going into reduced engine power while on the highway three times we were forced to sell it).we are very familiar with this issue!however, i was able to locate a dealership in the area and they tested it to find that the throttle body was out, and they replaced the throttle body and the associated sensor.i was relieved to hear that this was a different issue than before and that my problems were fixed.this was not the case.last week, the engine power reduced again and the truck is now in the shop for the fifth time.

I am very disasified with the way the issue has been handled. I drive a 2010 chevrolet avalanche ltz with 111,000 miles on it. I purchased this vehicle in 2005 with 38,000 miles. A year later during the summer time i began to have electrical issues (while in motion vehicle guages start spazzing out going up and down, radio cuts in and out, door locks cycle up and down and vehicle stalls, doesnt seem to accelerate and shift into second gear. I have been stranded in the middle lane of the freeway traveling 60 miles per hour when suddenly it begins to act up. This is a major safety issue with three children in the vehicle and multiple cars driving at the same speed as i try to get over to the shoulder to shut off my vehicle but seems stuck in neutral preventing me from quickly getting off the free way. At times i will cycle the ignition key off and all power cuts out. I hear a clicking noise and lights flicker back on, which is my cue to cycle the ignition key back on. Sometimes it works and others it doesn't. At time power doesn't come back for at least 5 minutes. This occurs sporadically during the spring and summer times. I have taken it to the dealership where they were unable to diagnose the problem, stating they couldnt duplicate the problem. They assumed the ignition switch so that was changed but problem continued. I contacted chevrolet where they opened a casebut it troubles me that they work on a case by case and stated they arent aware of multiple similar complaints. Vehicle was dropped off again where they still couldn't diagnose the problem but did research and found the cable may possibly be the reason so that is still pending. If this is so common and a major safety concerns on the highway why hasn't there been a recall for chevrolet. I have attached a document sent from the dealership about the cables. Chevy needs to do something about the electrical.

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet avalanche. The contact stated while driving approximately 80 to 85 mph, he noticed that the door locks began to open and close, the rpm's reached 1,000, and the vehicle suddenly shifted into first gear until it decreased to a normal speed. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who advised him that they would replace two modulators. The vehicle was repaired; however, within an hour of leaving the dealer the identical failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to another dealer who advised him that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified and advised him that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure was diagnosed by several dealers seven times. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. The vin was unavailable.

Gm tsb #10047479this is a well know problem on gm truck and suv models with power adjustable pedals.the wires rub against the mechanism causing a short and making errors to the computer causing communication problems and loss of power.repaired at dealership, and charged $300 for labor no parts involved.not covered because it is a tsb, not a recall.this should be a recall because it could cause an accident from loss of power.

I was driving on a bridge when the check engine light came on and the engine power reduced.the truck immediately dropped to below 30 mph and i could not accelerate up the bridge and barely avoiding an accident, as this was in a heavy traffic area.i was able to get it to the dealership and are working on it now.this if the fifth time this has happened to my truck.my wife and i just sold our 2007 chevrolet tahoe and the only reason was the engine power reduced error occurred on it seven times, three in month prior to selling it.this is a major problem and could have easily resulted in a severe accident.both cars were only ever serviced at chevrolet dealerships and each time, they insisted it was fixed and the problem was gone.we have no faith in chevrolet at this time!

Stabilitrac and traction control lights came on along with service both and the check engine light is on and sometimes flashes. Truck is idling very rough and seems to downshift hard from 2nd to 1st.

My dashboard cracked for no reason. It's been kept out of the sun and high temperatures. Also back up sensors stopped working, i had them replaced by the dealer. But only lasted 6 months

After i purchase the car brand new in 2010 under my brother in law's name, i have probably fix the car 5 times for engine power reduce, stabilitrak and all every service lights at the dealer but it had happen again on highway again yesterday, saw that gm recall car on feb 13 for faulty ignition switch for losing power and its happening to chevy avalanche too. One worst case was in 2011 driving to maryland at 12 midnight on highway the speed dropped to 30mph. Took it to dealer next day but it seams i loss power every year and have to fix it every year.

Immediately upon starting my truck, while in park, the dashboard indicated the vehicle was in reduced engine power mode and the check engine light came on and the stabilitrak was disabled.the truck would not accelerate properly and would only drive approximately 25 mph.this is the 5th time this has occurred on this vehicle. The dealership informed me that it is the accelerator pedal positioning sensor, which is the same issue it has had each of the previous 4 times time.it happened 7 times on my 2007 tahoe and each time it was the accelerator pedal positioning sensor (which is the reason we sold it).we are thankful that this time it occurred with the vehicle in park, this has happened in this truck on the highway and that was very dangerous!!

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet avalanche. While driving approximately 50 mph with the windshield wipers activated, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle regained power within less than a minute. The contact stated that the failure recurred an additional two times; however, the windshield wipers were not activated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

My transmission when taking off fast sound like it's in neutral and then when i let off the fast it goes in gear. Also my dash board is cracking and found be a serious airbag issue. I've seen hundreds of complaints about this and a recall hasn't been issued. The recall needs to be issued so i could be fixed asap. This is a serious hazard.!!!

When turning the rear differentialmomentarily locks up sounding like little skids. During normal slow accelerationsthe issue causes the truck to lunge orbump feeling like it is coming from the differential. Since i fisrt purchased the thruck new from the dealer there has always been an issue with clunking from the drivetrain. Deal said they could find identify anything.

The dash is cracked around the passenger side airbag. Upon checking the internet i found this is a common problem on chevrolet trucks. I am concerned that the structural integrity of the air bag may be compromised in the event of the air bag deployment.it may be possible that pieces of the airbag could break off and strike the occupant in the passenger seat or it may deflect the air bag altogether.chevrolet is not taking the responsibility for fixing this even though it is not a part that would receive wear and tear and it is just an obvious defect in the design.

Crack appeared in dash while truck was parked coming from the passenger side airbag location. The bag may catch on the crack if it was deployed.

The plastic dash has began to spiltin numerous places causing safety concerns.the dash is worsening as time passes by. I am concerned because the plastic shards may break loose and cause harm to occupantsriding in my vehicle. It is my position that the cracks are aa manufacturers defect and no vault of my own. I contacted both my local dealerand gmc failing to get resolution to this serious safety concern.according to variousinternetblogs and a facebook account there are hundreds of gm suv owners across the nationhaving the same safety concerns. Any assistance with this issue is extremely appreciated.

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet avalanche. While stationary, the vehicle's dashboard exposed sharp edges and was severely cracked. The contact noticed that the dashboard was full of fractured pieces that protruded from the dashboard material. Brooks motors of thomasville, alabama replaced the dashboard twice, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

My chevy cracked dash.

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet avalanche. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked from the air bags area to the vents. The contact was concerned that the air bags might inadvertently deploy. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000 .

Cracked dashboard keeps geting worse, service airbags lights now on. Ive had nummerous service suspension issues and had already fixed a thrttle tps sensor tat left me stranded on a day it was 0 degrees outside get gm accountable!!!

Interior door handle (driver's side) chrome overlay peeled 2010 chevy avalanche lt.owner opened door and cut finger on handle release when it was lifted up as car was parked in a parking lot.it is razor sharp.gm was contacted and would not pay for door handle to be fixed despite injury directly resulting from faulty door handle.vehicle has approximately 91,500 miles.with further inspection chrome overlay surrounding temp control also has peeling noted and is also very sharp.

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet avalanche. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked in three places without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the cracks were caused by the heat from the sun. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 110,000.updated 03/16/16*lj

Beginning of december 2015, noticed a dash crack over instrument panel behind steering wheel.also small crack by passenger air bag. Contacted and took to ray chevrolet. Iexpressed concern about crack by airbag--was told by service manager that it was probably not a safety issue and the amount that i had to pay was determined by a formula by gm.gm said there is a formula but local dealer has leeway on price.first offer was $320; second offer by dealer $200.gm says they can't help. Noticed on the internet, lots of complaints about this very issue. Crack by dash appears to be getting larger.car is in excellent condition and has been well cared for.57,000 miles.

The dashboard is cracking for no apparent reason. One crack near the airbag on the passenger side, the second one is directly above the speedometer and gages.

Dashboard is severely cracked. Exterior door handles not secured to unit.

The dashboard is cracked beyond repair. It is cracked in decal different areas. This seems to be a safety issue. Would hate to get into an accident and airbags shoot plastic pieces of dash throughout the vehicle. Cracks appear while driving as well as after sitting.

Dash cracks around passenger dash airbag and steering wheelupdated 9/29/2017

Cracked dashboard keeps geting worse, service airbags lights now on. Ive had nummerous service suspension issues and had already fixed a thrttle tps sensor tat left me stranded on a day it was 0 degrees outside get gm accountable!!!

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet avalanche. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the original vehicle tow hitch was corroded and fractured while the trailer was attached. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Dashboard on passenger side right above airbag has cracked. Noticed it when getting into vehicle after finishing work around 4:15pm. It was parked in the shadesince 7:45am on a cool fall sunny day.i'm worried in the event of an accident, the airbag could possibly deploy shrapnel from the broken dash and hurt someone. Searching online shows this is a common issue with the gmt900 platform trucks from 2007-2011 and gm is not doing much if anything about it.

My dashboard cracked for no reason. It's been kept out of the sun and high temperatures. Also back up sensors stopped working, i had them replaced by the dealer. But only lasted 6 months

Crack in dashboard by airbag concerning if airbag deployed could be ripped by broken plastic of dash or possibly project plastic throughout vehcile injuring passengers. Seems to be a common problem in several models of gm from 2007-2013 and gm refuses to address the problem or help with replacing the broken parts.

Another faulty gm dashboard.flaps around while driving - center clip blown out with no structural support to hold two pieces together.leading cause of dashboard cracking in similar gm vehicles.concern over air bag effectiveness on account of this issue.

Drove over rrx at 7mph and then the dash cracked in 2 places, 1 from windshield to airbag opening, and one from windshield to driver console area.pieces are now visible close to corner for air bag on passenger side

Dash cracked near driver instrument panel and passenger airbag compartment.

Dashboard crack in the corner of the passenger side airbag.

The dash board on my 2010 avalanche has two cracks one rightbeside the passenger airbag and the other right over the steering wheel .in case of an accident i'm sure the dash would explode anddebris/plastic from the dash sharp pieces would fly into someone's face .

The dashboard has cracked in many places leaving some pieces loose, with some of the pieces sharp. If the airbags were to deploy, those pieces could be thrown into passenger faces

Takata recall ; cracked dash

Takata recall i haven't received any recall notice.no accident just want any deficiency involved in the recall corrected.looking for any notice.

Dashboard is cracked on both upper corners of the passenger side of front airbag. Dash rattles and shakes when driving vehicle.scared that the airbag will deploy!

My truck dash is cracked in two places. One crack is near the passenger side airbag and the other is on top of the instrument panel on the driver side. The one above the instrument cluster is very very bad it's about 6 inches long and completely caved in. My vehicle is out of warranty because it is 4 years old but it is only 2000 miles out of warranty by mileage. There are numerous reports of other people having the exact same problems in the exact same areas.

I have a 2010 chevrolet avalanche ltz my dash is cracking around center mount speaker on both sides all the way to air bag compartment, this is not normal wear and tear, and could be a safety issue with air bag. There is no support around speaker is what is causing issue.

My dash is breaking at the air bag and above the steering wheel.it started after central chevrolet made repairs to a fan motor. I carried the truck back to the dealer.they said my warranty would not cover my dash.i had about 9000 miles left on a full coverage policy that central chev.said covered the complete truck.

Dash is cracking around and connecting to the airbag. Very concerned about this safety risk if the vehicle were to be in an accident.

Cracked dash in multiple areas around the front airbags.

Takata recall has not been resolved. In addition the dash panel is cracked next to the passengers side airbag.

Cracking dashboard

Dash board cracked near stealing column while vehicle was stationary.went online and found this is a common issue with 07-13 gm trucks and suvs. This could end up as a safety issue because if the dash cracks morewhile driving pieces could fly up and hit driver causing an accident. This really needs to be looked at and gm needs to recall these dash boards. Poor design. There is no support in the middle of the dash. The only support is on either end of the windshield vents.

Dash is cracked above instrument panel and also cracked by passenger airbag compartment.

The dash has multiple cracks above driver gauges and also along passenger air bag

I have two cracks on my dashboard. One developed over the air bag on the passenger side one morning before leaving for work. The truck always sits in the shade and out of the sun...it wasnt even hot the day it happened so heat can't possibly be an issue. The second crack developed above the instrument cluster and happened during the winter....i was driving from chicago to wisconsin and the truck had been warm for a good hour already when i heard a pop. Looked over the dash and saw the crack!

The dashboard on my truck has developed two cracks, one is in the hump over the instrument gauges on the drivers side and the other is on the corner of the cut out for the passenger air bag.

Dashboard is cracked

I have had my chevrolet avalanche dashboard repaired twice for cracking/rattling.the issue seems to be that the clasp underneath the center speaker of the dash is faulty and breaks easily.this causes the rattling which causes the cracking.the cracks appear right above the instrument gauge and the passenger airbag.the concern is that if cracked badly enough, it could send pieces of plastic everywhere in the case of an airbag deployment.gm will not fix the issue.

Dash cracked and rattles

Cracked upper end of dash board. Three separate cracks appeared on the upper part of thedash, one is going right across where the passenger air bag is located. This happened for no apparent reason. The vehicle had about 89000 miles on it when i first observed the issue. It rattles like crazy while driving on city roads and it is probably a mojor safety issue in the event of a air bag deployment.

Tamara recall. I am one of several gm customers who is having problems with the dashboard cracking. I've been in contact with gm customer care and they acknowledged my issue and have offered to pay 30% of the $1,569.88 it would cost me to have my dashboard replaced. Since so many people are having this issue, i feel gm should issue a recall to repair customers dashboards at no charge.

The dash of my 2010 avalanche is cracked near the passenger airbag. This crack appeared overnight while the vehicle was parked in my driveway. Now the center center connection of the dash panel has cracked as well creating distracting noises. Most importantly, the cracked piece around the airbag area could become a sharp projectile if the airbag is deployed.

The dash started cracking in 4 places and is now falling apart.

Cracked dashboard over air bag

Dash board has cracks by the passenger airbag and cracks by the instrument cluster

My dash started cracking around the airbag and above the gauge cluster. Numerous other owners have had identical cracks which we believe could cause shrapnel in case of air bag deployment.

The dash is cracked in 3 places 2 of which are near the passenger air bag that could possibly affect the deployment.

My dashboard is cracking and pieces are falling off. There is now a bad rattle and i'm afaid if there is a accident, the dash will fall apart and sharp pieces of dash will fly around the cab.

Cracked dashboard

Dash cracked and piece is missing by the passenger side air bag. Couple weeks later dash started cracking ove instrument cluster area.

Having alot of issues with the drain tubes especially with the front top tubes my floor boards are being soaked. The tubes are plastic so when and why for the drain tubes and how often should they be really be changed. The seal above driver door and passenger door in front are not always put in correctly or they move causing the water to cross over and pull into car instead of exiting. And the ac plug also problem. Certain years do not have the cabin filters .the engine light is very sensitive as well.

The top of the dash is cracking, above the instrument panel hump on the drivers side.the vehicle is well taken care of; oil changes done every 3k miles, all fluids changed at correct intervals, premium gasoline, never taken off-road, never driven over 80 mph, etc.it seems that the crack developed through no fault of my own and appears to be a manufacturing defect.being a life long gm buyer and fan, i have purchased more than gm 5 vehicles and plan to buy more, it disappoints me that they are not issuing a recall.

The top cap of the dash crack behind the instrument cluster and over by the passenger airbag and then the front part cracked near the light sensor for the headlights to come on

Vehicle suffers from excessive front/side window fogging in below freezing temperatures and the manual hvac controls will not permit the use of a/c to remove the humidity from the cabin. In summer months or temperatures above freezing, the a/c will engage when the front window defroster is enabled and is effective.with the hvac system in full defrost and no a/c, the fogging actually gets worse and visibility decreases to the point where it is no longer safe to drive and we have had to pull over and wipe the windshield and side glass down. This has happened 6 or so times since acquiring the vehicle new in 2010. An attempt to have the dealer resolve it was not successful.
