The right hand (passenger side) fender of a harbor freight heavy duty folding utility trailerdetached from the trailer while in the course of operation. The fender made contact with thetrailer tire for a short time causing minor tire damage before coming to rest on the pavement.the trailer had been in operation for approximately 1400 miles before the fender detached.the four fixing bolts were secured with nylon lock nuts as provided with the kit with no signs ofbeing loose prior to the detachment.the remaining fender was removed and it was found to havedeveloped a crack in the the center of the support bracket.it should be noted that both fenders were subject to a great deal of vibration in their normalcourse of duty. Both fenders could be seen vibrating up and down as long as the trailer was inmotion.from the close up photo of the bracket, there appear to be 3 cracks forming: one at the center,and one at each bolt hole.1195 lb.
