I purchased a new can am defender on may 30 with no test ride. Upon returning home i drove the unit to my neighbor's home, noticing a very loud rattle. My neighbor and i did a superficial inspection and discovered the passenger side seat belt bolt that attaches the seat belt to the frame was not even finger tight, despite the design including a bolt with a nylon washer lock on the bolt.we also noticed that there was no anti-freeze in the reservoir.i drove the unit home and inspected the unit a little more, discovering that the oil had been significantly overfilled, no anti-freeze visible when looking into the radiator and the right rear shock also being attached by a similar bolt with nylon lock nut that was also not even finger tight.i realized that there were significant issues with the way the motor was prepped prior to 30+ hours of operation at the dealer and build issues that could put my life at risk if not discovered by me prior to riding.i contacted both the dealer and brp directly and they seem to dismiss my concerns regarding my safety concerns.
