Headlights are so dim at night that it is unsafe to drive. Had to replace the entire headlight units.airbag light on indicating it might not work.
-i was traveling south on fm , miles north of miami, tx when a deer ran out in front of me. I struck it front center and onstar immediately called for emergency services. First thing i noticed was one of the air bags deployed and after pulling of the road and coming to a stop, i noticed a fire from the passenger side of the engine compartment. I exited the vehicle and still on the phone with onstar, my car fully engulfed within 15 minutes. The fire department was on site after the car was fully engulfed and took an hour to put out the flames. My car was a total loss. No one knows why it caught fire, what caused it.
Sealed headlight assembly fails causing irreversible condensation buildup that diffuses low-beam headlights to the point of being unusable.headlights are so dim that turn signals illuminate the roadway much more brightly than the headlights. Happens in all operating conditions, stationary, in motion, and on all types of roadway.i have a video showing just how diffuse and dim the headlights are.
Left front & rear right turn signal failure. Unable to signal other drivers of intent to turn
I have been complaining about the lights being too dim every since i purchased the car. I can hardly see at night, which is very dangerous and it needs to be corrected. My screen showing the information about the radio etc. Blacks out. It has been repaired, i was told but it continues to do so. I cannot end a call by pressing the button on the steering wheel. I have also complained about this numerous times. It also makes this weird noise when driving on the highway after a few hours but the dealership cannot seem to find the problem. I have been having all of these issues for quite some time. The lights need to be replaced at the manufactures expense, something needs to be done about the screen going black as i have been complaining about this for a couple of years now. The noise from the engine has to be coming from something but nobody seems to hear it when i take it in.
The headlights are very dim and not visible to drive at night. I am unable to see to drive back and forth to work. I work evening shift. This is very dangerous. There should be a recall on this matter.
Cue system freezes all the time. This began as soon as my full warranty ended. I thought it was a fluke initially. However, now with 54000 miles, the cue system is totally ineffective. This needs to be a recall seeing the massive number of car owners with the same problem.
A warning light on the cue system has locked and will not work.this is a safety hazard while driving. The vehiclewas moving.
The cadillac cue screen is faulty and needs to be recalled.i purchased my cadillac new from the dealership and before it hit 9,000 miles the cue screen started freezing and switching radio stations and the touch screen would not work.i took it to the cadillac dealership in leesburg,fl and they replaced it.there was a back order on the cue and it took 3 months to get replaced and i had to escalate it thru gm to finally get it replaced at 3 months.that was june 2016.at 46,000 miles the cue started doing the same thing it had done before.i took it to the dealership in leesburg, fl and once again had to have the cue replaced.my co-worker also has a 2015 srx and at 15,000 miles she also had to have the cue replaced (same dealership). Needs to be a recall , for people out of warranty this can be an expensive fix and it's obvious the cue has a defect.when it was first replaced in 2016 i was told by service that the reason for the 3 month delay was due to a backorder because so many had to be replaced.
The low beam head lights are dim making the car a safety issue to drive at night.there has been a class action lawsuit filed against gm and gm lost.gm indicates there is a problem but will not fix the issue.the dealership want $2200 to fix the problem with the same parts that that are causing the problem.
Cue infotainment touch screen is malfuntioning causing distraction from driving since attention to road is interrupted to make adjustments various sight required systems in vehicle. Known problem for several model years, yet not recalled for correction. Repair estimate is $1,500.00. Caused hitting of curb and destroying 2 tires (cost $600.00) when screen first became inoperative, while vehicle was in motion on a city street.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that vehicle headlights low beam was inadequate for safe vehicle operation. The contact was unable to see the headlight low beam as projected. The vehicle was taken to pioneer chevrolet 1315 pike street, marietta, ohio 45750 phone (740)-236-4928, for inspection. The contact was informed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted nor informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 31,000.
Lights are noticeably dim while driving in rainy weather.visibility is more difficult at night.my passengers were asking me were my lights even on because they felt unsafe.cadillac offered a reimbursement.i feel that this is a safety.
My cadillac has had and currently has a cracked spider web screen where you control the vehicles settings, gps, temperature for the car and so forth.due to this i have lost any control to these settings since the cracked screen has caused the touchscreen to not even work and there is no response when you tap the screen. Have reached out to cadillac and they say itā€™s not their problem but the screen was not cracked in any kind of accident it was cracked due to the way cadillac built the screen and the type of materials used to build the screen. Multiple people have had the same issue and cadillac refuses to recall the touchscreen on these vehicles.

We drive a 2015 cadillac srx. I work in real estate and went out to one of my homes to remove the signage after the home had sold and when i went to let up the hatch to place the sign in the back of the vehicle the hatch would not open. After several failed attempts of trying to open the hatch from the push button at the rear of the vehicle i thought i would try the button on the inside of the drivers door, still nothing it will not open. Did some research, spoke with some other gmc/cadillac owners and mechanics we was told that this is a common issue with their vehicles and that there was no recall for this issue either. And during our research we was told that water leaks into the area where of which the lift gate module kit is stored on the left rear of the vehicle this of course if what made the computer board to burn out. Looked up to see if there is a recall on this and like several other issues we have experienced there has not been a recall to fix this problem either.
Bought my cadillac 2015 srx last april 2019, is has been thru one winter.just a few months back noticed a burn in the seat back down at the bend while cleaning the car.took my car to quantrell of lexington, ky dealer and they will not cover the replacement and stated they called the manufacturer and they will not cover the replacement.i was told it was a seat warmer malfunction.it is a miracle that my car did not catch on fire.the cts models were recalled for this very reason, but the will not recall the srx's.i have seen many complaints online for the srx.i should not have to pay to replace my seat and seat warmer when this is a vehicle safety issue.
Teh touch screen is not working properly.freezes up and it also affects the temperature control.i bought this vehicle new and at 30,329 the dealership replaced the radio control assembly and it worked fine until last week.now at just under 55,000 miles the same thing is happening.i see where others have had this same issue and believe this should have a recall or at least be replaced free of charge.
The cue touchscreen does not work half the time.
Crashnofirenoinjuries0deaths0the cue gps screen is starting to crack.in online searching i see that this is a common. According to the threads i have read this has not been declared a recall. Why not? this can become dangerous since the q system has many functions such as backing up and other driving features. Car is always garage kelp
Rear lift gate is automatically closing, and doesn't stay open. I've been injured by this & have pictures of my bruises. I wasn't able to stop the lift gate from closing & was pinnedin my trunk. This is very dangerous! i've read about similar situations on line. I'm very surprised there isn't a recall about this.
Head lights when on seem to go dim. It is a known problem, thousands of vehicles are affected. Moving or standing still, the low beams do not adeguately illuminate the road in front of you. High beams are fine, in my case it is the right headlight. Some people have the left one or both are dim. Cadillac wants to charge $1,500 to fix something that is poorly engineered.
At 32,650 miles, while parked in my driveway, the car began to flash the headlights and honk the horn four times in succession, then it would stop. I saw this happen four different times in two days while it was parked. At this time, there was also a constant ticking sound in the rear of the car and the lift gate would not open.i took it to my local cadillac service today, november 19, 2018. The problem was diagnosed and i was told the sunroofrear drainage tubes had leaked water onto the lift gate motor causing it to quit working. This repair would cost me a minimum of $1800 because the warranty expired on november 4, 2018, (due to the delivery date being beyond three years).since purchasing this certified pre-owned 2015 cadillac srx less than one year ago, i've dealt with headlights so dim i could not see to drive at night. After four visits to cadillac service they finally figured out a fix. There were transmission issues: the car would hesitate when giving it the gas from a stopped or slowed position to the point it jerked me and my passengers back in our seats. Once again, it took four tries to get it fixed. And, the battery completely died at 30,000 miles.
Cue system faulty and inoperable and affects your peripheral vision and distracts from driving because the system flashes.they are insisting that i have to send the core back to the manufacturer when i have to pay $1200 to replace it, they will send it back and resell it for a higher price and i want to keep the unit for evidence.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the informational touch screen panel seized. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there was no recall for the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The haptic warning for the left lane departure worked intermittently 2019-2020 and then stopped working completely in 2020. I was informed in january 2020 that there is an electrical short (bare wires) in the wiring under the driver seat, which cadillac is refusing to repair at their expense.
2015 cadillac srx. Consumer writes seeking reimbursements for repairs made to vehicle related to defects with various safety features. The consumer stated the cue system failed and was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
Stabilitrak (etc) engaged during highway driving on dry road nearly causing a wreck by slowing the vehicle abruptly below 20mph."engine power reduced" illuminated.accelerator position sensor (aps) code in the ecm.less than 6000 miles after dealer replacement of aps and fixing connections, same dangerous slow down from highway speeds.events not reproduced for dealer.
While driving on the highway, the stabilitrak and check engine warning indicator lights come on. Next a warning reads, "engine running at reduced power" and the car slows down. When i cut the car off and restart, the warning indicator lights reset and the car will drive normal.

I've been having the same problem as another driver with the exact same situation. It seems like we're both having the same problem, and we're both being ignored. When accelerating, car lunges forward and kicks back when transmission is changing gears at relatively low speed. Car has been brought to dealer (patrick cadillac in schaumburg, il) numerous times but dealer claims it is a normal condition. When pressed the service manger admitted it is normal but on the extreme side but refuses to remedy the situation. I believe the car is unsafe and should be repaired. Gm corporate has been has been contacted on numerous occasions and is uncooperative and refuses to return any communication. When one pays the money to buy a luxury vehicle, one expects problems to be taken seriously and repaired.
Spider cracks all on my cue screen.

There seems to be no fix for low beams ????
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that during evening hours there was poor to no visibility with the day time running lights. The dealer courtesy chevrolet in broussard (1345 evangeline thruway, broussard, la 70518, (337) 347-8984) was notified of the failure and indicated that due to the cloudiness of the lens that the head lamp assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired as the contact felt the failure was a manufacturer defect with the lens, light fixture, an internal electrical problem which should have a recall campaign. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
I purchased the vehicle in july of 2018 and noticed the headlights seemed dim. Thought maybe i was just still adjusting to new car. Went on highway early in the morning one day before sunup and really could not see.. Thought the headlights were off. Pulled over and checked. They were on but just very dim. Dealer said it would cost around $1800. After i sent them copies of articles i had read about these lawsuits by other people, they agreed to replace headlights for free. My concern is it will not work or it will just happen again in time... As some others have indicated. They should fix the problem.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving at night with the low beam headlights activated, the illumination was extremely dim and caused a visibility hazard. The cause of the failure was not determined. Sterling mccall cadillac (10422 sw freeway, houston, tx) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 25,000.
Front headlights are dimming out. Headlights are not giving sufficient enough lighting for driving at night. Headlights output is poor. I have experienced near accidents with other vehicles and pedestrians at night because of i can't see the lane dividing lines on highways and streets while driving at night because of the factory headlights dimming. The headlights doesn't even light up inside of my garage when projected at in close range. (i have included a photo)
The headlight is extremely bad. I decided to change the brand for my next car. This big problem happens to every model lower than 2015 srx. It's so dangerous to drive at night. Actually you can not drive at night with this car.
When driving at night the lights are so dim i can't see anything and i almost wrecked and hit a curb with my kids in the car and i just recently bought my vehicle on jan 7th 2020 and it's now jan 24 2020
The lights are so dim, i am unable to drive at night. Reading through the internet, it is a very common issue with the headlights in my make/model/year vehicle. It costs $2,000 to fix headlights, which is outrageous, when cadillac is aware of the issues and safety hazards! my lights are constantly dim and look as though my headlights are not even on at night. I do not feel safe driving my car at night, and due to covid, who has $2,000 to fix a problem that all of these vehicles are having and that cadillac already knows about.
No headlights at night.have to use the high beams and they are dim.took it back to cadillac and they were aware of the situation and that there is no recall!????!!!more than willing to repair the vehicle for $2000.00.never would have expected this out of cadillac. Or nhtsa for that matter.how do you safely drive a vehicle at night with no headlights?why is there no official recall on this problem?
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated while driving at night the low beams were too dim to view the roadway. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer orr cadillac gmc (400 tx-63 spur, longview, tx 75601 (903) 757-6600) where it was diagnosed that the headlamps needed to be replaced.the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was informed that the repairs would be out of pocket. The failure mileage was approximately 66,076.
Passenger head light very dim i have replaced the bulb but did not fix the problem very difficult to drive at night there was or is a class action lawsuit i would like for gm to fix this problem since they are aware any help would be appreciated.consumer stated 2 emails were sent regarding passenger side heald light (very dim).
My 2015 cadillac srx lighting is too dim to drive at night. I have to rely on other drivers lights to have a good view of the road. If there are no other drivers near me, i need to use my bright lights as a safety precaution. I have replaced the light bulbs but that did not fix the issue. In reading various online forums, there are a lot of other owners with the same issue. I contacted the dealership and they quoted me $2,000 to fix it but clearly this should be a recall. The issue started approximately 1 year ago. I have been patiently waiting for a recall. This is a very dangerous issue and i fear my life may be in danger as a result of it. I try to only drive at night when it's absolutely necessary.
Low beam lights are dangerously dim and low. They do not project hardly any light on the road.apparently many many owners are having this problem and gm is failing to address it. They need to figure out how to fix it before someone is killed because they are not seen at night!
"takata recall" while driving at night the headlights starting to be dim. I thought it was my eye site at first. Last friday march 1, 2019 my husband was with me driving in rising sun maryland and it got real scary as we were driving and they went almost totally dark. I slowed to a crawl and hit my high beams just a second before i hit the oncoming car from the other direction. I was already across the line and going to hit the car. My high beams blinded the car coming toward me and they were screaming at me.it was like driving on a back road in a snow storm with no visibility.my husband would not let me drive back from dinner after being so upset. He drove and had to use the high beams, he said i have to tell you that was a very scary situation.when we parked for dinner the headlights turned a cloudy rainbow color. We had the light bulbs replaced and there is no difference.the dealer wants $1,000 to replace the headlight assembly to fix the problem.this car is in excellent condition , why should i have to pay $1,000 to replace this.i have seen the complaint sites and there seems to be a lot of people having this issue.this is not safe and you can not drive at night unless you want to take your life in your hands or the life of others when you have to drive with high beams. People are not happy when you do that and that could cause road rage issues. This car is not safe at night, please consider doing something about this. I will not put my grandkids in this car as i am too scared.
The dim head lights on my vehicle are so dim they are unusable making it difficult to even drive my vehicle at night or in the rain.
I purchased this vehicle used in november 2018 from the local lexus dealer. I didn't drive it at night prior to taking a trip in december 2018 when i left early in the morning in a rainstorm. I was shocked that i couldn't see a thing and thought it was just the rain. Later i discovered it was the headlights that were extremely dim. I contacted the local cadillac dealer who knew about the problem affecting this year and other srx models. They said they could replace the entire housing, etc but that the problem comes back. They said they could not replace with halogen or other after market parts since they are not cadillac parts. They asked that i let them know if halogen lights would fix the problem if i go that route. How on earth could this car not be recalled to fix the problem? this situation is just plain dangerous and cannot be safely driven at night when lights are needed!!
Headlights are so dim at night that it is unsafe to drive. Had to replace the entire headlight units.airbag light on indicating it might not work.
My 2015 srx headlights all of a suddenly started to go dimmer and dimmer. My husband changed it several times and bought higher watts and nothing worked. I called the dealer and they said there is no recall for my vehicle. I have to ride with my brights on in order to see.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving after dusk, the headlamps failed to adequately illuminate the roadway. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with an auto dimming feature. The vehicle was taken to boyd chevrolet cadillac buick (located at 1875 spartanburg hwy, hendersonville, nc 28792, (828) 693-3461) and the contact was advised to adjust the headlamps upwards to remedy the failure. The contact stated that the adjustment failed to remedy the failure and potentially made it worse. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
The headlights are very dim it makes it difficult to see at night.it seems as if the headlights are not on at all at night.it's a safety issue and we are afraid to drive the car at night.upon talking to the dealership and calling cadillac customer service, they told me they are aware of the problem but that there is no fix for it.
Cadillac division, gm llc c/o analytics consulting llc claim number:1218800 we received a letter referencing issues with moisture to accumulate in headlamp capsules and/or dimming halogen headlights. The instructions were to take the vehicle to the dealership pay the $800/$1600 and get reimbursed with 90 days.if the headlight capsules are faulty would it be more productive to recall the headlights capsules and replace them for free.our headlights need to be replaced however pay $1600. Is out of the questions.i have spoken to gmc customer service but they just transfer me to analytics consulting llc who insist the repair/replacement must be done first for reimbursement. Per the analytics consulting consultant and phone recording the deadline for reimbursementwas june 30th which was during the height of the virus.again because the headlight capsules is faulty a recall should be issued so that in these uncertain economic times can get the issue resolved with out having to come out of pocket $800/$1600.because of the dimness of the headlights i am cautious about driving after dusk, and i use my high beams.
Purchased from a dealership in ga front headlights seemed to be working at night, noticed they were very dim, but continued to drive at night alternating brights. Took vehicle to dealership recently after almost being hit at night and once in the rain, a car turned in front of me twice at night like they didn't even see me because now i realize they couldn't!iwas told whole system would have to be replaced before mechanic even looked at vehicle. Googled srx headlight issue and came up with lawsuit info because of this same situation. I cannot drive this vehicle at night it is a safety hazard and must use my bright lights, which causes other cars not to be able to see. The dealer gave me a quote for 1400 dollars for repair which i refuse to pay.
Low beam headlight very low replaced bulb and still goes dim. Moisture gets inside the headlight assembly.
The headlights are very dim at night, making it difficult to drive on unfamiliar roads. I didn't notice it around town but my husband drove it recently and had a terrible time seeing at night on unfamiliar roads.
The headlights have become so dim that it is difficult to see to drive at night.
Low beam headlights are extremely dim and virtually worthless at night.the roundcenter lens looks cloudy.the problem is not with the clear outer plastic covering.
Low beam headlights make it hard to see at night. The infotainment system works intermittently.
The headlights are very dim making it very difficult to drive at night. This is very dangerous in areas that are not lit up. I can't tell where the edge of the road is and cannot see the center stripes on the road. I don't attempt to drive at night in the rain. This is an accident waiting to happen. I would like to enjoy my vehicle no matter the time of day or night, rain or shine. Please correct this problem for all vehicles with this issue.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving unknown speeds, the headlights failed to produce enough light. The contact had to drive with the high beams activated. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 63,000.
Exterior lighting is dangerously [xxx] difficulty driving vehicle at nightparts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The drive shaft needed to be replaced at 65,000 miles. The headlights look like they are not on at night when you are driving. There have been 2 class action lawsuits won in california and florida for these defective headlights. I don't know why they would not include all the cars that had these headlights because they are all defective. If i would have known this i would not have bought the car. I have owned it 4 months and the touch screen cracked, driver assist seat control stopped working, the drive shaft needed to be replaced and the headlights do not look like they are on at night. I feel like i have to drive with my high beams just to see adequately and safely.
Headlights are very dim on highway.according to gerry lane cadillac service center, 10945 reiger road, baton rouge, la 70809, 225-297-5377, replacing bulb will make only minor improvements.bulb projector lenses are cloudy.according to dealership, it is a common problem for the vehicle model.it requires replacement of both headlamp assemblies.according to the dealership, all owners should have received a certificate to pay for replacement of assemblies.i did not.
Headlights are extremely dim, it is impossible to drive when it is dark. I attempted to this morning as i needed to come in to work early and nearly wrecked. I had to pull over off the freeway and wait for daylight. I knew they were dim and because of that try to never drive at night but it is ridiculous that i own a vehicle i am unable to drive at dark.
Headlights are so dim that they are barely seen by oncoming drivers.only able to drive the vehicle running bright lights in order to see thereby blinding the other drivers coming at me.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights were very dim on the vehicle, which made it nearly impossible to see the road while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (dwain taylor chevrolet buick gmc, 1307 s 12th st, murray, ky 42071) and the light bulbs were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 53,000.
Lights on 2015 cadillac srx luxury trim are very dim...almost to the point where no light is seen at night. Have been like that for over a year. I took it to the cadillac dealership to check for moisture issues and was told that was fine. It was just the headlights...and nothing could be done. Dealership was very ineffective. Light output continued to worsen to where they are now. I constantly drive with bright lights. I can't see lines or turning lanes without proper lighting. I have also dodged accidents a few times due to other cars not seeing my lights. At night, i do not feel safe driving. I fear for the safety of others as well. I have emailed and called numerous times to no avail. Again, when driving with headlights that do not shine properly i can't see turning lanes and honestly my depth of vision is very low. Things, animals, have happened on my car at the last minute due to lack of lighting.
Unable to drive vehicle at night due to malfunctioning low beam headlights. They appear to be on but only produce an extremely dim light. So dim it's as if they are not on at all. This forces you to use high beams which blinds oncoming traffic. Extremely dangerous and apparently a problem for most srx owners. Amazingly there is no recall for this deadly mechanical failure.
The low beams on the car do not wrk. They are not bright enough to see at night without turning on high beams. New bulbs have been replaced
Low beam headlights very dim and have been since the vehicle was new in january of 2015. Contacted dealer and was informed this was a common problem with the srx for which there was no fix. On my third set of aftermarket halogen bulbs with only marginal improvement. Consider it somewhat dangerous to drive this vehicle during night time hours. This issue happens with headlight switch in automatic or when selecting the "headlight on" position. Headlights also appear to be aimed too low but dealership chose not to verify and there dopes not appear to be an adjustment screw; the manual states that the dealer's body shop should aim the lights.
The dim headlights are too dim to drive in evenings and cloudy, foggy, or any time lights are needed
The headlights are extremely dim, afraid to drive at night because i can't see around or in front of me without using my high beams, its very dangerous. I feel that its a safety issue. I have also read that others have the same issues and cadillac has not corrected the problem, i also read that there was class action suits in flordia and california because of this problem.
The headlights on my car are very dim.it is difficult to see anything at night without the brights.the brights do operate normally. I have changed the bulbs to halogen type at my own expense but it did not make a difference.the left light seems dimmer than the right one but both are very dim.this is a terrible safety issue.i have contacted gmc dealer and their only solution is to change the headlight assemblies at great cost over $2000 with the same assemblies that have failed.reading problem descriptions online i find that the light assembly seals are bad and water enters the "sealed" assembly thereby causing condensation that dims the lights.
Headlights are almost non existent during night driving, first noticed driving at night on state highway 35 from bay city texas to palacios texas november 13 2019 during intermittent rain showers...had to use brights to get any down road illumination.
The headlight is dimmer at night and visibility is very low.
While driving on i-95 at night, with oncoming traffic, legally forbidding the use of hi-beams, a deer, i believe, suddenly crossed the road, 50-75 feet in front of my vehicle. The low beams on the vehicle are so poor i was unable to see the deer until it was directly in front of the vehicle. I had to slam on the brakes and violently swerve to the right, leaving the road surface in a sideways slide, crossing the shoulder and finally stopping on the grass, heading down hill, only inches from a post. This lack of efficient head lighting, now known to be from headlight unit seal failure leading to low light levels from the projectors, caused this accident.the passenger struck her head on the passenger window and suffered a bump and bruise to the right side of her head.it is now my understanding that mitigating this seal failure will cost me about $1600.00 at the cadillac dealer.additionally, i understand that the only replacement available from cadillac is the same unit that has failures and that no upgraded unit has been made. Additionally, i understand that cadillac has been found liable in a class action suit regarding these faulty headlights in florida and california, however, not in my state of residence, although, coincidentally, my accident occurred in florida. These 300,000 vehicles need to be investigated from model years 2010 to 2016, as they all use the same halogen headlights. It is only a matter of time, unless already occurred, until loss of life is suffered from these inadequate headlight units.my partner, the primary driver of this vehicle, is now afraid to drive this car and will not drive it in any condition other than daylight, causing hardship on us.
Headlights are extremely dim...very dangerous when driving on unlighted roads at night.we have to turn on the high beams in order to see the road.recently, we had the high beams on when driving on a dark interstate, and another driver, thinking we were being careless, tried to run us off the road.i have seen the hundreds of complaints from other srx owners about this.gm/cadillac needs to do what is right, and issue a recall, before someone is severely injured, or killed.
I twice complained to dealership that the lights were not illuminating and i had to drive with my brights on. Twice they did nothing. I was pulled over by a police officer who told me he thought i had only my fog lights on and not head lights.this car does not have fog lights and the officer was shocked that the cadillac had such a poor set of headlights. I returned to the dealership who handled it in a terribly u.n. Professional way and told me the headlights are not covered under extended warranty. I reminded them that when i first started the complaints the original manufacture warranty was in place. A sales person from the dealership suggested that i should buy a different cadillac to fix this issue. It's appaling to me to find a lack of customer service from cadillac i bought a cadillac to support 'buy american' - i could not be more disappointed. My friend drives a lexus and is constantly telling me how great their customer service is. To say that am incredibly disappointed in cadillac is an understatement. I write this as i wait to hear from cadillac. I brought my car there and asked them to drive it at night- it's time for it to be inspected.let's see if they are willing to put their name on an inspection. I have a beautiful cadillac that is not safe to drive in the winter months past 4:30 n the afternoon.this is unacceptable. The lights do not illuminate. In order to see the road i have to drive with 'brights on' - i have even pulled onto the shoulder of the road so i can get out and check if the lights are on.this is so unsafe. I have to keep up with other traffic at night so i can use their headlight illumination as a way to not have to drive with my brights on - i do not want to cause unsafe situation for other motorists by driving with my brights on.
The headlamp lighting on this vehicle is totally inadequate. When driving at night it is necessary to leave the lights on bright constantly; when on dim the lighting is absolutely not sufficient to provide safety. We have had to completely stop driving this car at night due to this situation. This issue is compounded when attempting to drive in the rain, even a light rain. We have more than once had to pull off the road and wait for better conditionse starting up again. This is not acceptable performance in a modern vehicle. I have reported this both to the dealer and cadillac and have not been given an appropriate solution. If i replace the entire system it will be replaced with an identical one.
I recently purchased a 2015 cadillac srx luxury crossover suv (50,000 miles). I noticed while driving at night, that the headlights barely illuminate the road. I contacted my local cadillac dealership and spoke with service department personnel that informed me that this issue was systemic throughout the 2010-2015 year srx models. This problem is so consistent throughout such similar models, and yet i am suppose to shell out $1300 to fix a known issue? i am willing to pay to replace the lamps but gm needs to do their part and fix the faulty component (that is their responsibility) that is causing dangerous driving conditions and constant issues with the vehicle.
2015 cadillac head lights on dim is where i am unable to drive at night.they are very dim and after taking to dealer when it was still under warranty there was nothing that they could do.this needs to be a recall on gmc.if anything should happen to me while driving at night, gmc will be held liable for any injuries or deaths.i have three times where a car has pulled out in front on me and we almost collided.please respond to this complaint with the latest news on this problem.
Purchased a 2015 cadillac srx 10-9-2020. After driving for several weeks, noticed driving at night was hard to see, as low beam headlights were very dim. Took to an auto shop who inspected and suggested headlight bulbs be replaced. Drove a couple of nights and still had low visibility. Took back to auto shop and after an intense inspection, discovered the entire headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. Looking on the internet, we discovered this is a problem with many other cadillac srxs. I wrote a letter to gm describing my safety concerns with the vehicle. I was contacted by a customer service person, who in turn, put me in contact with a local cadillac dealer. The dealer then put me through to their service rep, who told me they could do nothing for me, that the warranty had expired. All repair work would be out of pocket. The service rep told me that gm had sent out letters to cadillac owners regarding the headlight repairs, and that the time had expired. I told him i didn't own the car at that time, so i was unaware of any letter, and the previous owner evidently didn't have it repaired. The cost to replace the both headlight assemblies is $1,950.00. Since this is a major safety problem of driving at night with low visibility, i am requesting that nhtsa help go to battle with gm and demand a recall to fix this problem on all cadillac srx vehicles before there are accidents, or worse yet, a death, caused from the lack of visibility while driving at night. This problem should not be. Gm should not even think twice about repairing a car that defective components have been discovered on their cars. Nhtsa, please help us!
Dim headlights are defective. I can barely see to drive at night. There are groups on facebook of numbers of people with the same complaint. Please investigate this matter before someone is killed.
The low-beam headlights are very dim.i asked the dealership's service department about it and was told that gm was aware of the faulty part (headlight assemblies with poor quality seals)and would reimburse me up to $1600 for replacing them with the same faulty part.i received a letter from cadillac that offered the reimbursement in exchange for waiving any future fix for the problem.on march 30, 2019 while driving on a highway with a curb, i hit a piece of wood that i couldn't see because of the dim headlights.hitting the wood caused the car to veer into the curb causing over $4000 damage to the vehicle.while looking for a possible fix for the problem on the internet, i have found that many owners of this model cadillac complain of the same problem.i also found that gm/cadillac has settled class action lawsuits in california and florida pertaining to this issue. Obviously, this is a major safety issue that gm/cadillac is aware of yet they are not offering the owners a lasting remedy for the safety of the drivers.i have pictures and estimates for the damages but am unable to scan into this computer.i can send them separately from my phone.if needed, email me.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights were dim while activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The headlights do not shine brightly enough.on a dark stretch of highway one may only see 15-20 feet in front of the vehicle and this is dangerous, it is always necessary to drive with the bright lights on.the dealer checked out the vehicle and says that they are normal, but that is simply not possible.i have read on the internet of several other customer complaints and at least one lawsuit in progress.
Headlights extremely dim at night
Low beams are very low to almost non existent. The bulbs were changed out to no avail it is extremely dangerous to driver at night not only to me the driver but to all other vehicle on the road.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving 55 mph, the headlight illumination was dim and prevented the contact from driving at night. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to bob brady cadillac buick gmc (located at 1500 koester rd, forsyth, il 62535, (217) 875-2110), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 25,000.
The head lights are very dem at night it is as if they are not even on.
Since 2019, my headlights began to dim and have gradually worsened. Now they aredefective and ineffective. I have had close close calls when trying to drive at night. It is almost impossible to drive at night without high beams. I have been pulled over twice and given warnings about my headlights. It is very hard to navigate driving especially when other drivers can barely see my car. I have driven over curbs, crossed lane lines, and have been unable to see turning lanes. Other cars have have had issues seeing my car due to the low lights and this has led to some other very close calls. The situation is very unsafe and risky. The malfunctioning of the lights have pretty much rendered my car useless after dark or in rainy weather. I have spoken to numerous individuals at both the local dealership and gm to no avail. I have been told so many different stories and given differing plans of actions. The dealership people told me to wait on a letter from gm/cadillac. After weeks, ai contacted gm/cadillac who also told me to wait on a letter. After another few weeks and still without a letter, i contacted gm/cadillac again and that's when the real "runaround" began. Two years later, my headlights are even worse and i don't really drive my car that much out of fear. I continue to contact gm/cadillac at least once or twice a month to no avail. My car was inspected by a dealership who confirmed that i indeed have headlight/headlamp issues due to a gm problem with the production of the headligh/headlamp assembly which collects moisture. They also confirmed that gm should have sent me a reimbursement letter.my car is available for anyone who needs to inspect it. I just don't understand how a company such as gm who claims to be of excellence and such quality will not repair and take responsibility for it's mistakes and production errors.
Received a safety notice from cadillac as part of class action lawsuit. Headlights may be subject to dimming and/or complete loss of the headlights due to corrosion from moisture within the sealed headlight unit. Took my 2015 srx in for service and they said the headlights need immediate attention. Because this is not a recall it is up to the individual to pay for the repair and then seek reimbursement from cadillac. Due to the extreme safety concerns, loss of headlights and potential for a nighttime crash with resulting injury or death, i'm asking you to investigate this for a potential recall. Because the unit is sealed, i can't provide photos that support my claim that moisture has built up inside (behind) the headlights.this has been a known problem for over a year and may have resulted in crashes and injuries that are unknown to me.
The front headlights are very dim where it looks like the lights are off when i am driving at night. I must turn on the bright lights to see normally at night when we drive. I received a recall notice to have lights replaced after we pay $800 a piece at cadillac dealer. I was ill and could not take the car in to have the issue corrected. After my surgery and my recovery time i called the cadillac dealer and was told that the recall notice had expired and they could not honor it! i believe this is a very dangerous problem and it should be fixed free of charge with no time restraints..
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While operating the vehicle, the low beam headlights illuminated very dimly, which created a visibility hazard to the driver. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and cadillac norwood (700 providence hwy, norwood, ma 02062) were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 41,000.
The vehicle is dangerous to drive at night due to incredibly dim headlights that have become progressively dimmer overtime. Visibility at night is the equivalent of driving with parking lights on. Traveling on roads with higher speeds increases the risk as it's impossible not to overdrive your headlights. If it is raining at night, visibility is reduced to almost zero. After much research, it appears to be an ongoing problem for many owners of this make/model/yr. The entire headlamp housing needs to be recalled as it is defective, making the vehicle unsafe to operate.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that there was condensation on the inside of the headlight housing which resulted in the headlights needing to be replaced. The contact stated no warning lights was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
Low beams so dim you can't see at night. Dealer reported yes it is a problem, you will have to replace entire headlight with non dealer led headlight to resolve. Tried to send me to his sons shop to resolve problem. I have replaced the bulbs with new bulbs which did not resolve.i have to drive with high beams to see at night. This is a major safety issue.purchased car in 2018 and after researching problem see it is a problem with all srx not just mine. Cadillac dealer won't repair/replace or fix problem.
2015 srx headlight issuein january 2020, we noticed that the low beams on our vehicle no longer cast sufficient light to be able to adequately see the road at night.the beams are so dim there is no discernible difference between the lights being on, or off when on the low beam setting.the high beams appeared to be unaffected.i began researching the issue on line and learned that the 2010 to 2016 srx models all had this design and manufacturing defect.according to multiple reports and explanations, including information derived from class action lawsuits, the headlight assemblies, which are supposed to be sealed, were designed and constructed in a way that allows moisture to accumulate inside the sealed assembly, causing multiple problems that result in low beam failure.it appears that additional class action suits have been filed.i have not found any details on those additional suits.given that this is a known, recurring, serious safety problem with this vehicle, nhtsa should immediately investigate this issue, publish its findings and take whatever action is appropriate to coerce gm to fix the design and manufacturing issues with these headlight assemblies, and replace them on all affected vehicles through a nationwide recall at no expense to owners of its srx vehicles. See attached, more coimplete description.
The low beam headlights have low output and the car is not safe to drive at night. The problem is amplified in wet conditions. On roads with no street lights it is hard to see painted lines. On coming drivers have flashed their headlights at me indicating they do not think i have my lights on properly. This is an ongoing issue.
Low beam lights are horrible cannot see at night unless you use high beam lighting. Dangerous for driver and oncoming traffic due to having to use high beams to see safely
Low beam lights are not functioning at appropriate levels to see safely.took the car to scranton gmc/chevy in vernon, ct and service department had it for a day, and returned it saying they found nothing wrong with the headlights but had no paperwork for me to sign or have.they also told me that they had called gm in regards to this.knowing there are already class action suits out there and them not even writing this up leads me to believe they are attempting to suppress the reporting of this issue.i have trouble seeing with my low beams, and it is definitely not safe.
I just purchased this car on 1/25/2020. It was daylight when i paid for it and drove it 2 hours to home with low beam lights that made driving very hazardous. I would have returned it if they had still been opened and i hadn't paid cash. Please recall this before someone dies on virginia county roads and a wrongful death suite is filed.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the low beam headlights failed to produce adequate lighting. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to kevin whitaker chevrolet (2320 laurens rd, greenville, sc 29607, (864) 297-0011) where it was diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 9-5454139288. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights were very dim and failed to project a headlight beam enough for safe vehicle operation. The contact stated that on one occasion while driving at night while making a turn, the contact almost went off of the roadway due to insufficient lighting from the headlights. The vehicle was taken to val ward cadillac, inc (12626 s tamiami trail, fort myers, fl 33907) where the contact was informed that the failure was due to a manufacturer's defect in the design of the headlights. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
Low beam lighting gives you no visibility while driving in the dark. I have to use the high beams and blind the oncoming traffic. This is a safety issue for both me and oncoming drivers. Me, because i would wreck using my low beams and oncoming vehicles could wreck when i use my high beams blinding them. I am told this is because of the malfunction of the seal around the lights.....it lets moisture in. I have had the bulbs replaced, but it did not help the situation. Please do a recall nation wide for this, not just for florida or new york, before someone is badly hurt or killed and a lawsuit is filed.
My headlights are seriously dim and the vehicle is not safe to drive at night.i have almost hit a person crossing a street that under normal lighting i would have seen. This issue is known by gm but they wont recall. You can change bulbs but it doesnt help. It takes replacing the entire assembly with after market parts because gm parts are faulty. This is extremely costly and requires the front end of the car be disassembled.they wint even cover under warranty / extended warranty
Headlight moisture is causing very poor visibility.in march of 2019, i received a letter stating that my vehicle was part of a class action lawsuit and that if i wanted to have the headlights replaced, i could by paying out of my pocket and then would be reimbursed.the class action lawsuit was for 2011 - 2015 models.my vehicle is 2015.at the time that i received the letter, there was no visible signs of a problem, checked by myself and my husband who is very good with cars.now, less than 1 year later, i can't even tell when my headlights are on.if i am not driving on a road that has street lights, i cannot see.it's a serious safety issue.given that i mainly travel on roads that have street lights, i was unaware of the deteriorated situation until very recently.i contacted cadillac who offered me no solution aside from taking it in to get it diagnosed at a cost to me.then i am supposed to call them back so that they can see what they can do, no promises of any type of monetary reimbursement.so basically, i got nowhere with cadillac who seems to be more concerned with their bottom line than safety.the class action lawsuit should have been a recall.think of it this way, 2011 owners had a long enough time to see that the headlights/covers would eventually get moisture in them causing the problem, but 2015 owners had a much shorter window of time.the cost to replace them is about $1500, which i didn't spend given that when i received the letter, there was no issue.this is a serious safety issue that occurs gradually over time and needs to be addressed by way of a recall so that cadillac has no choice but to resolve the issue and back their product by making the situation right.taking the safety of cadillac owners as a serious matter as opposed to trying to save money by not doing a voluntary recall.
My headlights are extremely dim. When driving at night you can barely tell they're on.
In the past months, we have noticed that it seemed our headlights did not seem like they were on when driving at night. We have gotten out of our car numerous times to check and make sure that the lights are actually on. Most recently when driving on a two lane road, the headlights seemed to flash and then make a number of flashing on and off movements. Being that this was a road with no other lighting and our bright lights did not come on, it was very dangerous. I could not see ahead of me and it was raining. There were cars behind me and i couldn't see the road ahead of me. My husband talked to a mechanic and he said that there has been other cadillac owners with headlight issues. This needs to be addressed as it could cause a serious accident.
My low beam headlights do not produce enough light to drive safely at night.one light seems to be a little worse than the other one. They are definitely unsafe.it seems this is a common complaint with these vehicles. Something must be done.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving at 20-25 mph, the headlights were dim and failed to produce adequate light to view the roadway. The vehicle was taken to cadillac dealer (1507 w ogden ave, naperville, il 60540 (630) 355-2700) where it was diagnosed that the bulb needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was contacted who provided case number 9-566-3842749 and informed the repair was not covered under warranty.the failure mileage was 49,965.
Add another cadillac srx to the list, our 2015 srx has very dim low beam head lights..... I have been told and looked up for myself, that cadillac and the app warranty folks will not stand behind the head light assemblies; which app should not have to stand behind a factory faulty head light assembly.... How in the world can so many folks have a safety issue with these extremely dim lights and nothing gets done.... On top of that if you pay out of your pocket to replace the assemblies your told that the new fixtures have not changed and will likely do the same thing in short order.... It is sad when the dealers even say that the fixtures are junk.... This is no way to promote cadillac by telling folks to go pound sand instead of fixing a known issue with the reflector inside the fixtures..... It is extremely unsafe to drive our vehicle at night with lights so dim.... I am considering purchasing after market fixtures and hope for the best.... Some standard cadillac hold them self too..... These folks should be embarrassed....someone please do something about these head light assemblies before folks get killed... A simple search will show a large number of folks that have this same issue..... I have tried the led lights bulbs, the brightest normal bulbs available with still no luck.... I guess after market fixtures are the only choice.... This is terrible, because the rest of the car is a great car.......
Got in vehicle on the evening of december 6,2017 it was raining could not see driving. It was if my headlights were off. Had to drive my vehicle with lights on high beam which was not very much better. There is a serious problem with headlights on the cadillac 2015 srx vehicle.i pulled off the road and checked vehicle to make sure my headlights were not blown outwhich they were not.i am having to drive at night with my headlights on high beam.
Moisture has developed in the headlight assembly, corroding the reflective elements and making vision at night very dim and unsafe. This happens under any conditions requiring headlights. There are hundreds of complaints about this if not more-simple google up cadillac srx headlight problem. Gm has reimbursed a few owners as a result of a lawsuit limited to a couple of states, but has not owned the problem. Please look more into this issue.
Turns signals fail to work consistently when temperature drops below 20 degrees.car has been in for service and replacement of three body control modules and is back in again as same problem has occurred again.the signal problems happens even if the car is stopped, moving, turning, on all surfaces, etc .problem started fall of 2015 and continues to be an issue at this time.
Front headlights are so dim they appear to be turned off.the car is not drivable at night. The car is in covered parking with 43,000 miles.this was discovered while night driving and the only way to see was to use bright beams.independent mechanic says this is defect.gm not acknowledging via recall but see all on internet across country with same problem on this car years 2010-2015.this should be recalled before someone is killed.
Please help me! i can't see to drive my 2015 cadillac srx at night due to the dangerously dim headlights. I nearly got killed on july 14. I was on the highway after dark, i literally could not see anything, it was like driving with the headlights off. So, i slowed the car to 35mph just so i could see to find my exit off the highway. I used my bright lights as much as i could, but i was blinding the drivers coming towards me. After purchasing this 2015 cadillac srx in december 2017,i noticed the dim headlights. After returning from vacation in march 2018, i took the car to my local dealer for service. I wastold they installed a different headlight assembly but saw no improvement, so they put the old headlights back in. However, they thought they were brighter just from being cleaned. In june, the headlights were getting worse, so i returned to the dealership. I was told a gm representative was there that day, they would speak with him about the problem, then call me back to schedule another appointment. Today, july 16 i had not received a call, so i called them. I have another appointment scheduled for monday, july 23. I was told this is their last ditch effort in trying to fix the headlights. I cannot drive the car after dark period. I don't know what to do, please help!
Purchased car used from buckalew chevrolet 4/27/2019 headlight was a little dim.headlight it not bright ei to see now.i was not told of a headlight problem when i purchased vehicle and i never received any notice from the manufacturer since i have owned it about a headlight issues.noe i'm told it will be thousands of dollars for me to fix what should be a factory recall due to safety
2015 cadillac srx has a safety issue related to headlights. The light are too dim at night. This car should not be driven at night because of a collision that can result in death. Gm knows about the problem but ignore it asking owner to replace the headlights with an existing design that even parts do not exists. Gm must issue a clear warning to all owner about the danger of driving at night and issue an immediate recall and come up with a fix to the problem and not just a replacement of the headlight assembly with the same old design.
Headlights are so dim that it requires high beams at night.
I have noticed for the past 3 months of the 3 years i have owned the 2015 cadillac srx that the low beam head lamps are to dim to drive at night.this is a serve safety issue.the headlamps throw now recognizable light on the road.the lights are on and have no directional issues. Calls to multiple gm dealerships and the gm customer service were met with the response of no knowledge of any issues or like complaints.my vehicle showed now evidence of plastic lens degradation, nor yellowing, nor condensation.multiple forums report the problem with no solution.
The headlights are dim, the light bulbs have been changed out. The lights are so low there is low visibility.
While driving, headlights are so dim at night that it is difficult to see a short distance ahead on city treets or highways. Apparently moisture gets into the light fixture. Cadillac had a recall for it for 90 days. The problem didn't occur until months after it closed. Recall claim 1022551. It should have been a required recall or at least open if the issue occurred.

The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving various speeds, both low beam headlights failed to work without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (crosby cadillac, gmc, nissan, inc, 2715 memorial dr, waycross, ga 31503) where it was diagnosed that both low beam lights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the luminescence from the headlamps were inadequate for safe night time driving. The vehicle was taken to cable dahler located at (1151 w. 104th st. Kansas city, mo) where the vehicle was diagnosed that the head light assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.
Headlights are dim. It's hard to drive and see while driving at night. I've almost got into some really bad car accidents because cars have pulled out right in front of me because my headlights are so dim. I should not have to use my brights all the time at night. On coming traffic flash me because they are on.
Low beam headlights are so dim that it is dangerous to drive at night. Gm cadillac srx 2010-2016 has had this problem and gm will not fix the problem. Dealership also was no help
Dim headlights causing inability to see road at night.
Takata recall.low beam headlights are so dim that it is dangerous to drive at night. Gm cadillac srx 2010-2016 has had this problem and gm will not fix the problem.
A warning light on the cue system has locked and will not work.this is a safety hazard while driving. The vehiclewas moving.
The next area of concern was entering the car dealership (trapp cadillac in houma, louisiana) on 12/28/2018 to have the headlights changed. The cost of this change/replacement was $942.94 for the labor. The dealership did, however, warranty the headlights. Made the headlamps good, but refuse to honor the labor(see attached)when driving at night/raining days the lights were so dim visibility was almost impossible for safe driving.there was a serious problem with the headlights on my cadillac.i chose for the safety of my family and others this problem must be addressed immediately by professionals.
The headlights on low beam do not project light.i have to use my high beams at night, which causes on coming traffic to shine their high beams in my eyes.the low beams are so dim that i have stopped driving my car at night.
When driving at night, it is nearly impossible to see with not only the lines in the road, but anything in the road! this is the most unsafe vehicle i've ever driven. When i have to use my brights to navigate my way, obviously those vehicles who pass me...as were as those in front of me ( less than 200 feet) get angry. They dont realize that it's more dangerous for me to drive with my brights off! i had other people try driving it as well both in town, and rural roads and the closest highway....and every person had the exact same results. A beautiful car with lemon headlights! i've had this car 3 weeks and am livid that nobody at the local cadillac dealer knew anything about these headlight problems with this car! i had gone through consumer reports, blue book values et ....i thought that i had adequately done my research! then... I googled 2015 cadillac srx headlights ! the information was all there...hundreds of complaints. Class action suits and a recall on them in california! someone will be killed due to these lights.
My right headlight is so dim i have to use my brights when driving at night. Cadillac replaced the left headlight about a year ago because it was so dim. I have tried to get along with the right being so dim but it is not safe. I work 2 or 3 nights a week so it is difficult.it is that way whenever the lights are on.
For over a year(maybe even close to two years), i have been calling in to cadillac, gm, and my local dealer ship heard allen cadillac in athens, georgia to complain about faulty headlights/headlamps. The lights have progressively gotten worse to the point i either cannot drive at night or have to keep on my high beams. Visibility and depth with low beams is extremely poor. There have been a few times when other cars didn't see me until the last second and times i have missed a road/street because i can't see the road lines. Initially, i took my car to the local dealership and was told to wait because gm/cadillac had just started a reimbursement plan specifically for the headlight issue. I was told to wait for a letter and then come back. After waiting a few weeks, i called the cadillac/gm number again and was told to wait for the letter as they were still processing. Fast forward, i have called in too many times to recall being told various things. I have been told my car was not in the reimbursement plan, . Was told i missed the time for my reimbursement. I was told to wait because i would be i'm the next round of letters. I was told there is no next round of letters. I was told that of i didn't receive a letter, there was nothing wrong. I was told that even if i was supposed to get a letter but never got one, it didn't matter because the timeframe is over. Again...more calls. Then an advisor left a voicemail about being able to offer assistance. I took my car to the local dealership who said that gm had offered to pay close to $800, but when they put in a call the service was denied. After subsequent calls, i was given the run-around yet again. Two weeks ago, i was told to take my car to have a diagnostic on the headlights/headlamps. This whole thing has been ridiculous, and i know there have been numerous complaints from reading. At what point does this matter?
The headlights on my cadillac srx are very dim. It is almost impossible to drive in the dark without using the brights. A class action law suit has been handled in california and florida but nothing done anywhere else. I filed a complaint with cadillac but was told that they are aware of the situation and in the planning process for the remedy.per my research, the headlights are allowing moisture to get inside which is causing damage to the lights and wiring. The lights are not out but just go dim. I asked the dealership and the cadillac customer service representative if replacing the bulb would help and they stated that the entire unit would have to be replaced. At this point, my lights are so dim that it is becoming nearly impossible to drive in the dark in unlit areas. I was hoping that cadillac would show responsibility for this issue but it appears they are waiting on your department to issue a recall. Per the dealership, this issue could cost between $1800-$3000 to fix and they are well aware of the problem. I am not familiar with the process and in no way think that one complaint merits a recall but it is my hope that your department, or the governing agency, will look into this ongoing issue. It is a major safety concern for myself and many others. Please let me know if i can provide any more information. I would like to be helpful in hopes of getting this issue fixed without spending thousands of my own money.
We are driving blind !!!! purchased our 2015 cadillac srx awd in november 2017 after researching on both consumer reports and edmunds... Did our test drive in daylight... Now that we're owners we realize the car cannot be driven at night. The low beam headlamps are so dim its worse than driving with parking lights only.we are now shocked to see that there are manyserious complaints about this very problem all over the web everywhere except for the two above mentioned reviewers .it's literally like driving in the dark. We have to coordinate who has the car when just to get home safely.please do not ignore this!!! this is a serious flaw in gm manufacturing... Cant believe it had not been addressed. Operating this vehicle after dark risks injury or death. Dealership turning blind eye. They were happy to get rid of it? we will not let this go and intend to do all we can to expose, and demand this problem is rectified asap.
Our 2015 cadillac srx has extremely dim low beam headlights.they are so dim that we are afraid to drive the car at night.when we do drive at night, we drive with the high beams on because they have not be affected by the defect yet.driving with the high beams on at all times is hazardous to other drivers, but the low beams are so dim, it is nearly impossible to see the road.there have been several class action lawsuits, but to date, gm refuses to address the flaw in the headlight assembly. According to the lawsuit, the seals gm used in the exterior headlight housing units wear out and deteriorate and allow moisture to accumulate and condense from the air that flows through the vents.however, the vents for the housing units are defective because they interfere with the flow of air through the faulty seals of the headlights.the condensation causes headlight problems that include failure of the bulbs due to corrosion of the components such as the igniters, in addition to electrical shorts that occur. Since 2011 and in an effort to do something about owners complaining about the headlights being too dim or failing completely, general motors allegedly issued a customer satisfaction program and several technical service bulletins (tsbs). But the plaintiffs claim gm's efforts haven't fixed the dim headlights.
The headlights on low beam have become so dull to create a safety issue with limited visibility.mechanic claims that the bulbs ar ok and doesn't know why.i have seen many other people having the same complaint and feel that gm should issue a recall to correct.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlight housings were filled with water causing the illumination from the headlights to be very dim. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and advised the contact to pay for the repairs and then there would be a reimbursement offer. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Defective headlight lamps, have drive with high beam lights on at night, generalmotors neglecting to recall this safety violation.
Headlight has become very deem and dealership does not have a replacement part.was told to give 2000 usd and be put on a waiting list to have headlights repaired.the headlights on this model is a problem
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the lights on the vehicle were very dim, which made it difficult to see when driving at night. Cadillac of birmingham (1677 montgomery hwy, vestavia hills, al 35216, (205) 588-4478) stated that the failure was well known and the entire lighting fixture needed to be replaced at the cost of approximately $1,800. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 28,000.
Just bought this vehicle. Low beams are so dim it is hard to watch for deer. Making me uneasy trying to drive at night.
Low beam headlights do not provide enough light to drive safely at night. This problem is known by gm and they refuse to honor the repairs. Many forums discuss this since it involves the cadillac srx from 2011-2015. All they go is replace the weather stripping around the light but that is not effective. My wife and i are pretty much confined to daytime driving because the low beams are so useless at night or in the rain that you really would be better off with candles. I was forced to drive for an emergency last night and almost had an accident on a country road because the lights did not light up the road good enough to see where i was driving. Service center said there was nothing they could do but there is. They have better headlight assemblies but will not replace them. Gm just stalls and stonewalls the customer. I had the brightest low beam bulb replaced in both lights but the headlight design is the problem. Most expensive peace of trash i have ever owned. Been dealing with this since purchasing in 2017.
Very bad visibility driving after dark.the headlights are very dim and it's difficult to see the road and surrounding area while driving at night.i've contacted a local auto repair shop and they stated this was a ongoing problem with the vehicle i drive. Ipurchased the vehicle used and no mention of the problem was given. I feel it's a safety hazard that can result in serious accidents.i currently drive using high beamwhich also causes a hazard.i live in a rural area with few lighted roads.
My headlights are very dim , so dim i thought the left one was out completely.my headlights are discolored with condensation.i was unable to drive my vehicle at night coming home from work at night without using my high beam lights.i took my car to plaza cadillac in leesburg,fl.they replaced both headlights with new ones.i am pleased that they acknowledged the headlight defect and failure but am reporting it because it needs to be a recall.i have read of others that are being given the run around and being charged for a flaw that is dangerous and gm should own up to and replace faulty headlights.i am the original owner of my cadillac, purchased new from dealership.
We purchased this car in october 2018. A few days later we were driving home at night. I turned on the low beam headlights and told my wife i could barely see any light. A few moments later i almost drove into a ditch. We called the dealer the next day. Despite having a remaining bumper to bumper warranty, we were required to pay $208.81 for replacement bulbs, which they said were not covered under warranty. They are barely brighter than the ones they replaced. This is astonishing that a leading us manufacturer has elected to play russian roulette with its customers lives. Consider this message a safety complaint against this manufacturer and a promise to join the class action suit that is now starting in florida. I should be reimbursed the $208.81 and both headlight assemblies replaced with redesigned ones. Simply replacing small bulbs again will not suffice. Cadillac and gm need to be held accountable. If we are injured or killed because of the very poor output of theselow beam headlights i will chase the souls of all those at cadillac and gm beyond the depths of hell forever. There is no excuse for equipment such as this, and no excuse for not repairing it properly.
Using the car for night driving was the first time for me in my recently purchased, used 2015 cadillac srx and as i was coming to a right turn lane in an intersection with similar oncoming traffic pattern and cars flashing brights, i dimmed my lights. I did not see the man riding a bicycle with his flashing bicycle lights, nor his florescent wear strips within a safe enough distance to avoid him when he decided to cross.fortunately, my passenger screamed just in time for me and he abandoned his attempt and decided to bail into a culvert ditch,i did not hit him. I stopped and his jeans were just torn and he said he was okay, but, i will notput those dims on again.
Both low beam headlights are extremely dim making night visibility a hazard. Cadillac service want $2500 to repair.
The headlights on my srx are so dim that i cannot see to drive after dark. After searching the internet it seems this is a very common issue that cadillac has not addressed. We are now working with a mechanic to order aftermarket replacements since changing the entire headlight assembly. Replacing the headlight bulbs over the past weekend did nothing to improve the light put out by the headlights. I also visited the body shop that made a minor repair to the car in dec 2018 thinking the headlights were misaligned and was told the driver side light was significantly dim compared to the passenger side. The issue with the headlights is for the low beams and not the high beams. This issue can be seen while parked or driving on the highway, during turns as well
The headlights on this car are extremely dim, when driving at night where there are no street lights, it is as if i have no headlights on at all. I drive river road home nightly and i have nearly missed my turn onto the street and into a ditch because it is so dark. I spoke with the service department about this and they acknowledged that there is a problem with these headlights.
My headlights are to dim, unable to see when i'm driving in the streets and highways. I have to switch to high beam due to my safety, but i'm disturbing other cars which i can cause them to have a accident as well. Also i can get pulled over by a cop any minute. I been having this problem since day one when i purchase the car over a year ago but i thought this was normal on this particular car. Plus i never made it a big deal due to i had no choice to continue driving it cause i couldn't return it. So we just decided to use the car just during day time. But lately we be using the car during night time now is becoming a problem.
Recently noticed that while driving at night, low beam lighting is virtually nonexistent making it extremely unsafe to drive in darkness.a letter dated 2/28/20 regarding this exact issue was received but only gave until 5/28/20 to file a claim.i hadn't noticed any issues at that time and, due to covid-19, wasn't driving enough, and certainly at night, to notice this issue until recently.so, now there is no recourse with gm.called gm customer service today and got the "tough luck" message back - "you missed the deadline".this is a serious safety issue that should have been addressed as a safety recall, not a legal claim limited to a 90-day window during a lockdown.pathetic reflection on gm.
Headlights so dim can't see to drive after dusk. Contacted cadillac inquired about recall, they're aware of this issue with this model and year no recall even with safety issues. I researched this and numerous srx with same problem some resulting in accidents with injury. Cadillac told me to take it to dealer and pay about $1000. Per side to replace with same defective lights and housings plus labor. Please look into this issue and help those of us in need of being able to see while driving after dusk. Thank you for any help you can provide.
We just bought this car wednesday at donahoo chevrolet in ft payne, alabama. We went out to eat monday night and the headlights seemed to be very dim as if they were not even on,, could barely see how to drive. Had to drive with the lights on bright. This is very dangerous. I called the dealer tuesday and have not received any response.
The low beams on this vehicle create a driving hazard at night. There literally are hundreds of complaints just by doing a google search. See also carproblemzoo.com gm/cadillac has no fix. The lights do not project properly and in dark areas you can't tell at times that the lights are working. Gm should be required to fix this issue. I replaced the halogen lights with new halogens and no difference. I then upgraded halogens to led bulbs with a minimal fix. Please take these issues seriously. People have written online that they cannot drive the vehicle at night. The only safe measure is to drive with high beams, which is not possible. This problem is systemic with the luxury edition cadillac srx. I think it's the lens or electrical. I think this is the reason that the 2016 srx has hid headlights. Numerous websites indicate complaints from drivers who say that the cadillac dealerships acknowledge the issue but also say that gm has not issued a fix. Dealerships want hundreds of dollars up to over a thousand dollars to fix it, but they also state that the fix might not work. Please investigate this. It is truly a serious safety issue. Please hold gm accountable. Thank you for your time and consideration. This problem occurs when driving. It is extremely difficult to see the road and to see people walking across the street and to see paint lines. The lights do not project solidly and widely as do other makes of vehicles on the road. I am taking my car to the dealership on 2/2/19 to ask them to assess the situation.
When driving at night, when on dim lighting, cannot see anything. Very dangerous.
Required headlight replacement due insufficient beam causing it to be extremely dangerous driving at night.requesting reimbursement
Headlight low beams are very dim. They are so dim it is very difficult to even see they're on when driving. It is extremely difficult to see in front of you when in operation. Very dangerous, as i cannot see well in low beam.
Purchased factory certified 2015 cadillac srx 11/2018. In 12/2018 one dim headlight stopped working. In 1/2018 2nd dim headlight quit working makin it difficult to see without bright lights. Fog lamps also stopped working. Truly a safety matter. Search of internet shows many other srx'swith same problem with no factory fix.class action suit filed in california only. Problem is moisture entering housing where bulbs are mounted. Cadillac dealer could not state why dim headlights and fog lights don't work.makes driving hazardous when bright headlights can't be used. Dim headlights and fog lights do not work at all.
The headlights are very dim and not visible to drive at night. I am unable to see to drive back and forth to work. I work evening shift. This is very dangerous. There should be a recall on this matter.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While the contact was driving after dusk, the headlights were dim and were insufficient for driving at night. The vehicle was taken to all star autoplex (located at 1216 e. Palestine avenue, palestine, tx 75801) and the headlamps were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000. The vin was not available.
The low beam headlights are so dim its like you don't have any headlights on at all. The high beams work perfect. Its very dangerous to be driving this vehicle at night since the lights don't work properly.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated while driving at night, the low beam headlight was not adequate for safe driving. The contact stated that it was difficult to see at night while driving. Hilton head cadillac (1090 fording island rd, bluffton, sc 29910), was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,000.
After years of risking my life driving with headlights(low beams) dimmer than my turn signals, i gave up and bought some aftermarket housings. I read a little online, and some people said the the projector bowls burn up. After replacing these, i decided to open up the factory ones. When i got them opened, i found the projector bowl to be burnt up. It is ridiculous that gm/cadillac won't recall them, even with so many reports of the dim low beams reported all over the internet(even on this nhtsa government website.) this needs to be investigated and action needs to be taken. It's not acceptable for people to just have to deal with either risk getting in a wreck, running their high beams 24/7 which is a safety concern for other drivers, or to shell out the money for aftermarket housings.
Lights are noticeably dim while driving in rainy weather.visibility is more difficult at night.my passengers were asking me were my lights even on because they felt unsafe.cadillac offered a reimbursement.i feel that this is a safety.
On or about september11, 2017, i encountered a life threatening situation due tothe defective headlamps on my 2015 cadillac srx.i had to evacuate to virginia from florida due to hurricane irma.as i was driving up a steep mountainside at nightto get to my destination, i noticed i could barely see the road in front of me.i was put in a very dangerous situation, as i could not use my bright lights because that would "blind" the cars coming down the mountain in the opposite direction.this was a life threatening situation as one wrong maneuver could send you off the side of the mountain or head-on into another vehicle or pedestian.upon my return to florida, i immediately took my car into the dealership and they acknowledged the problem as fog and haze covering the lens due to "weather" and replaced both headlamps.on may 13, 2018, i noticed the same head lamp dimness while driving at night making it difficult to see the road or pedestrians or anything.i returned to the dealership and they said the same thing happened again to the driver's side headlamp and replaced it.this has been less than a year since the initial replacement.clearly there is a defect with the design and/or integrity of these headlamps and a newer version must be manufactured.i live in florida and if moisture is causing this, this will be an ongoing problem.this is very costly to fix, not to mention, life threatening as you are unable to see the road or pedestrians oranything else while driving at night with barely any light illuminating the path in front of your vehicle.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights failed to operate correctly and were too dim to see the roadway. The vehicle was taken to waldorf cadillac (2298 crain hwy, waldorf, md 20601, (301) 645-7000) where it was diagnosed that the headlights bulb connectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
My certified 2015 cadillac srx left the dealership as an unsafe vehicle!the headlights (or lack thereof) are barely visible at night or in the rain.while using the headlights, there is not much difference when the switch is off or when it is on.this has led to several "close calls' while driving.in researching this problem, it appears there are tens of thousands of 2010-15 srx's that have unsafe headlights.but yet, no recall.i am wondering how many more complaints it will take?then to add the two lawsuits, and still nothing except for a half-hearted letter from cadillac "offering" to reimburse the out-of-pocket expense to fix the problem.in review, i purchased my first cadillac, expecting a top of the line vehicle.in return, i now have a vehicle that i can only drive during daylight hours and sunny weather.
The dim lights do not give off enough light at nighti have had to pull over several times thinking i was going off the road.i avoid driving at night and avoid having my grandbaby in the car at night for fear of a deadly crash.when i have to drive at night i have to use brights.this is going to get me a ticket someday unless someone gets mad enough they shoot me on the highway. Something needs to be done please.
I've had nothing but problems with this vehicle!the battery went out a week after i had it, the entire dash had to be replaced after a year, then the freaking headlights were so dim that i could not see at night.i had the bulbs changed twice and still could not see.took vehicle to dealership and they said the only way to fix it is to replace the entire headlight system, which cost me $1600!this is supposed to be a cadillac '.the best of the best!!!i will never buy one again!! the frank kent dealership in fort worth tx said that if i submit my request to cadillac, they may reimburse me, because they have done so with some customers in the past.here i am and i am submitting it to you!please help me!i am a single mother and need to get my money back!!contact me at [xxx].my address is [xxx].thank you! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Just bought a 2015 srx cadillac on feb 16, 2019. Test drove during the day, but by the time all was done it was night. Driving home and 1/10 of a mile out, i pulled over to see if the lights were on. They were, so i continued to drive. All along convincing myself it must be because i went from a car to suv and it was my perception of sitting up higher. I believe i was so hoping since i had just signed a 'no waiting time' and ' as is' contract plus purchasing gap and extended warranty for over $3000 more! well, it is not my perception from a different level! i drove again and not only are the bulbs projecting different level of brightness( if u call it 'bright') but neither makes it where the road is safely visible. I had it in the dealership shop three days after purchase to fix the cue problem (dealership taking care of that) and asked to check headlights. I thought they changed bulbs and all was well since ivwas told they checked them and all was good to go. Not.i have written cadillac via email and i have notified the buick dealer where i bought the vehicle. After purchasing (big mistake i've learned the hard way) and this problem emerged, i searched internet and this is a common problem. I'm hoping cadillac or the buick dealership will help resolve this unsafe issue. If not, not sure what i will do without having to trade it in and probably lose $$ go with a different brand of car!! headlights (low beams) are too dim to see the road!
Headlight low beam continuous failure.headlights on low beam fail to illuminate the road, even after having headlights replaced.unable to see road dividing line in many instances while driving.visibility on the driver side limited to 20 feet maximum.almost had a pedestrian incident in a cross walk where i was unable to see the pedestrian crossing.please fix the problem as soon as possible, as visibility continues to worsen
We purchased a 2015 srx cadillac monday dec 14 2020. We had not driven it after dark until we purchased. The headlights are so dim we could barely see the road in a well lit highway. We were concerned we would not make it home. These lights are a hazard and it's very dangerous to drive after dark. Something needs to be done before someone gets killed.
I was driving down a city street at night at approximately 10 mph and my friend informed me that my head lights did not look like they were on at all. Since this incident, i asked another friend to drive ahead of me on a dark city street and tell me if my lights were on.his response was, "yes they are, but very dim.i am very worried about you driving at night"!!
I purchased a used 2015 srx cadillac in 2017 with 26,000 miles on it. Progressively the headlamps (low beam) have gotten dimmer and dimmer to the point that i am now having to drive my car with the high beams on because i cannot see the road in front of my vehicle. The car is 4 yrs old now and has 70,000 miles. I travel frequently at night and i do not feel safe in this car now. If a person were walking along the road or a deer were to run in front of my vehicle even at an adequate distance for any other car i have ever driven, i would not see it in time to avoid an accident. I also fear running off the road because i can barely see the lines. I have contacted my dealer, and am waiting for a response. I have done a lot of research on this issue and many people are reporting this same issue with the srx models 2010-2016. They report issues on forums and some have even experienced rollovers and ending up in ditches due to limited visibility at night. Many older people drive cadillacs and they have even had their dealership question their eyesight. There has been a class action suit about this issue, but apparently it has been dropped in all states but fl and ca. I work for a major truck manufacturer and i know that you are the government agency to involve on such serious safety issues as this. I hope that you will look into this issue as many forums have reports of people saying gm is up for a suit if they end up having a fatal crash from the dim lighting. I have also read that gm refuses to acknowledge the issue. Even when the headlamps are replaced by the dealer, the issue is reported to return. I doubt the headlamp quality issue has ever been addressed with any kind of modification to resolve the issue by gm.read this forum for more reports of this issue http://gmauthority.com/blog/forum/cadillac-forum/. I trust your agency will seriously examine this issue.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving at night, the low beam headlights did not provide adequate lighting and created a visibility hazard. Silver star cadillac (3601 auto mall dr, thousand oaks, ca) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 44,000.
Dim headlights have become increasingly dim to the point i can hardly see the road at night.i don't have the moisture that others have reported.i have researched more about this online and found that the dimming is caused by the heat of the halogen bulbs deteriorating the reflective material in the head light housing. Specifically the hella projection capsule used for the low beam. This deterioration is a slow process and goes unnoticed until finally it becomes to obvious to ignore. This is an ongoing issue reported by thousands of people.this is a defective part that gm refuses to acknowledge. When i talked the my local cadillac dealer they pretend to be oblivious about this problem.
While driving the vehicle it stumps in the rear and also jolts in the fronts.
Received a letter that the headlights are defective and we have to make payment on the repair and then we will receive a refund.the lights are dim and obstruct our view at night, if they know about the problem, why aren't they officially recalling the lights and replacing without any cost to the consumer.
2015 srx with headlight issues. Dim low beams restrict visibility at night. Read about numerous complaints. Cannot see while driving at night.
Vehicle's low beams are extremely dim making operation difficult.illumination at the 115 ft distance is questionable.vehicle is a hazard to operate for self & others after dusk and before dawn.
Headlamps have become very dim which causes an unsafe condition when driving at night. In order to see the road i must use high beams. I am constantly switching off the high beams when an oncoming car approaches. Dealer has stated the problem is not the bulb but the projected lense in front of the bulb. The problem has gotten steadily worse.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights produced low illumination and she was unable to drive at night. There were no warning indicators illuminated.the vehicle was taken to brogan cadillac (112 us-46, totowa, nj 07512, (973) 200-6342) where it was diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
Aug 2018 i noticed my low beam lights were barely visible, like i was driving in the dark with no lights on. I switched to high beams and could see very good, but then switched back to low beam and it was still the same....very poor lighting. I had the bulbs changed out in oct 2018 for $200, but this did not fix the problem. I had the relay switch replaced, but this did not fix the problem. I have had situations where objects or people were on the side of the road, but i did not see them until the last second when i was right there at them because of the poor lighting. I cannot continuously drive with my high beams on at night just to see where i am going. This is a bad safety issue on one of the top of the line vehicles....low beams could cause me to wreck, hitting someone or something because of poor lighting and high beams makes me blind the oncoming traffic causing them to wreck hitting someone or something. I am told that the headlight assembly needs replacing because of the poor seal quality letting moisture in causing the faulty low lighting. There should be a recall on this because this is a manufacturer problem/error. I should not have to pay $1500 to fix this when i did nothing to cause it. Cadillac/gm needs to step up to the plate and recall this defect they created and correct the problem before someone is accidentally hurt or killed.
Headlights are very dim and you can hardly see using the dim lights.upon looking on line there are many lawsuits for this problem.gm wants over $1,500 to fix this issue with the lights going very dim when not on bright.it appears the light assembly lets moisture accumulate because of poor seals that burns the led bulb out.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that moisture entered the headlamp which caused the headlights to shine dim while driving at night or in low light conditions. The contact received a letter from the manufacturer where they have acknowledged a defect with the headlamps. The contact was provided a timeline in which to have the headlamps replaced out of pocket and would later be reimbursed by the manufacturer for the replacement of the headlamps. The contact took the vehicle to service chevrolet cadillac (1212 ambassador caffery pkwy, lafayette, la 70506) where the vehicle was inspected and it was confirmed that the headlamps were defective. The vehicle was not repaired due to the replacement headlamps not being available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.*dt
Passenger side exterior headlamp went out suddenly while traveling. It was raining and when my husband checked the lights noticed that there was a lot of moisture inside the headlights. We assumed the bulb just went out but we changed the bulb and it still didn't work. We had to travel 5 hours home hoping we could get there before dark and nervous the whole time thinking the other light would go out in the dark and possibly cause an accident. We were lucky we made it home right at dark. We still cannot get the light to work and i am afraid to drive it at night. It only has 21,000 miles on it. I started doing research and seen several issues with the exterior headlamps and i don't understand why gm or cadillac has done a recall to have these issues fixed since it is a severe safety issue.
The headlights on my srx became very dim very quickly. After doing some research of my own, it appears this is a manufacturers defect. I took it to my local cadillac dealership on 10/1. They stated they didn't know exactly what the problem was, but somehow the lens was bad. Was going to cost $1600+ to repair. I had to wait to do that, but in the meantime, started doing my own research. I found a few class action lawsuits have been filed for this very problem. I have contacted my dealership again. My warranty for that ran out at 50,275 miles. The problem was there prior to that mileage. I honestly thought my eyes were starting to go bad at night, but my family noticed it too when we were all driving together one evening, so i made an appointment to have it checked out. I am very upset that cadillac isn't doing something about this. The car is unsafe to drive at night. At this point, if i get it fixed, they will replace it with the same headlights, as they haven't made any changes to the design of the piece from what i can tell. So, the problem will occur again. This is a major safety issue. Cadillac/gm really needs to step up and take care of this.the car can not be driven at night under these conditions.
The headlights are extremely dim, i have almost wrecked because i was unable to see. I have replaced the bulbs with the xd1 extra bright and did not even make a difference. This is a dangerous car to drive at night and i can't believe cadillac refuses to make this right.
While driving my 2015 cadillac srx at night with my headlights on low beam the visibility is so bad that you might as well be driving with no headlights on at all. Most of the time while driving at night i have to drive with my headlights on high beams all the time because if not i cannot see anything. We have replaced the bulb in our headlights several time and this did not fix the issue. We researched and did not find a recall about this, which was surprising because this is a huge safety hazard. This happens anytime the headlights are on, whether you are driving down the road, sitting in the vehicle in the driveway or parking lot at anytime when you turn the low beams on for the headlights the remain dim and does not project light enough range of light to be able to drive safely while the low beams are in use. Very frustrating and nerve rattling.
The low beam headlights are so dim that they do not provide sufficient light for night driving.
While driving after dark, headlights were very low brightness.i could barely see the road lines and driving in the rain , i had to use my high beamsto see the highway road markings.
The headlight is so dimmed now that i can hardly see if it is on at night. So dangerous when i driving at the night time.
I noticed that the headlights on my 2015 cadillac srx became extremely dim around july of 2018.it is very hard to see well when driving at night, and it is a hazard!!i mentioned the problem with the lights being dim when i went in for an oil change at the dealership, but iwas told there was nothing they could do to fix the problem.at the next oil change, i again complained about the dim light problem.the dealership replaced the headlights with new cadillac bulbs (under warranty), but that did not fix the problem.then, ater more complaining to the dealership, i contacted cadillac.cadillac suggested that the dealership change the cadillac bulbs (no longer under warranty) with after market bulbs.those bulbs also did not fix the problem!!!i am very unhappy, and am still driving around with dangerously dim lights!!!
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle at night, the front head light illumination was inadequate causing a visibility hazard to the driver. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer baierl cadillac(10430 perry hwy, wexford pa.)who replaced the light bulbs but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.
When i am driving in the dark both of my headlights are extremely dim especially on the interstate. I am unable to see short distances in front of me and it has become a safety issue. I have had the bulbs replaced twice with different types of bulbs and it did not help at all.
Headlights are not working on dim setting, ok on bright but dim is so dim you can't see. I've have tried to have it repaired but no one has been able to fix it. Very dangerous can't drive the vehicle at night.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While operating the vehicle at night, the low beam headlights illuminated extremely low. The cause of the failure was not determined. Quantrell cadillac (1490 e. New circle rd, lexington, ky) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 83,000.
Headlights are so dim i cannot see the road at night. I tried to replace the original bulbs with led lights and while it helped a little i still cannot see.
The low beam headlights have condensation and are so dim i can't drive at night. I took my car to the dealership and they told me it's about a $2000.00 repair for a car that is 4 years old. That seemed ridiculous so my husband and i began searching and found that many srx drivers are having this same issue. I can see when the lights are on high beam but others flash me because they are too bright, when i drive on low beam at night people pull out in front of me and i can barely see the road.
I have notice several cadillac srx, theheadlights on the passenger side are very dim. Have talk to several peoplethat owns cadillacs srx and they are having the same problem. Very unsafe to drive at night. Have had the bulbs changes it didn't correct the problem. I'm very dissatisfied. Will you please help.
While operating the 2015 srx4 last night on an interstate then two lane state road in a light rain, the low beam headlights barely illuminated the roadway.the brights were fine but when meeting oncoming traffic and switching to low beam, it was if the lights were not working at all.there were several times that i could not even see the painted lines on the side of the road.it was extremely dangerous and unsettling.today i find online that there are numerous complaints about the low beams being unacceptable and dangerous.i concur.the poor quality of lighting will end up causing an accident or getting someone killed.this appears to be a known problem to cadillac and gm.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated while driving at night, the headlights failed to adequately provide illumination for safe driving. The vehicle was taken to cadillac of lake lanier (2355 browns bridge rd, gainesville, ga 30504) where it was diagnosed and determined that the headlights need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vin was not subjected to a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. The vin was not available.
Low beam headlights are not safe to drive with at night. Even after replaced by dealership upon being recalled. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
My headlights are so dim i no longer feel safe driving at night and when i need to i drive with my brights on, which seems to upset a lot of other drivers.i have broughtmy vehicle to the dealership in regards to this issue and they said "yeah, we've had a lot of complaints about this but there is nothing we can do about it".why not?this is a huge safety issue!will it take a major car accident or two to get gm to fix this issue that a lot of other consumers are having?this is my first cadillac and if this is not resolved, it will certainly be my last.i have two teenage daughters that occasionally drive my vehicle and now they cannot at night time.for the price i paid for this vehicle i expect to be driving a cadillac that is safe and i do not think that is too much to ask to be fixed, at their cost.
The low beam headlights are so dim it makes the car undriveable at night. The dealership stated its a know problem and would cost about 1500.00 to fix. This car is unsafe to drive at night. I have found its been going on for years on the srx. Please help. Should be a recall on this unsafe car.
The headlights are extremely dim and are a hazard for night driving.
Exterior front lights are dangerously dim when driving after dusk and into the night time. It is very hard to see while driving. While stopped i checked the lights to see if they were on and they were but while driving i have to ride with my bright lights on to see.i took it to the dealership and they said that nothing like this has ever been reported but it is not true. They adjusted my front lights thinking it was the beam but it did not helpthis should be a recall since this is very dangerous and someone is going to get killed.
My headlights gradually became more darkened where i didn't realize they weren't working properly.i eventually started running off the road on curves.my son thought they weren't even turned on when he drove it. I did receive a letter about moisture causing some problemsin illumination but they never exhibited moisture that i could tell.i finally took it in and the dealer said all the reflective material had fallen off.it cost $1700 to replace with basically the same configuration of headlights.i have sent in my letter with the bill but haven't heard anything back since sending in late october.
Headlights are dangerously dim.they don't light up the road unless you have the high beams on. I've seen 100's of complaints about this. Quoted $1,400 to repair. This needs to be recalled as a major safety hazard.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the dimmer failed to function properly and the daytime running lamps did not illuminate brightly enough. The contact had to apply the high beam headlights in order to see the road. Andrews cadillac (1 cadillac dr, brentwood, tn 37027, (615) 200-9076) was contacted and were aware of the failure, but stated there was no remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
I have a 2015 srx cadillac with the front passenger head light very dim. It became dimmer over a period of time, causing you to not be able to see while driving at night and almost impossible to see at night during a rain storm.this is in my opinion is a major safety hazard/ issue
The low beam headlights make it extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle at night.purchased this car one week ago.first trip out at night and was frightened beyond belief.it is like driving with no headlights.cadillac or gm has got to face this problem before someone is killed.we paid well for this vehicle and buyers should not have to foot the bill for a defect!!i will be happy to enter into a class action suit against either cadillac or gm to force this hazard to be dealt with.
Headlights unsafe. I bought my 2015 srx new, and from the outset the low beam headlights were very dim. Visibility is so poor that i can't safely drive my srx at night; my 4-year-old $50,000 srx has only 13,000 miles on it. The dealer quoted me ~$300 to replace with non-gm bulbs but can't guaranty that the problem will be fixed and won't give me any sort of warranty on the repair--even though my srx is still under factory warranty. In fact, every online review states that replacing the bulbs will not correct this issue. Obviously, the defect goes beyond the bulb itself. This is a major safety issue and is a known issue with the srx. A simple google search returns thousands of customers complaining of this safety problem which gm fails or refuses to remedy. Nhtsa, please intervene here and make gm permanently fix this defect, whether that means replacing the entire headlamp assembly, or new seals, or new bulbs with some sort of warranty. My safety, and that of my children and others on the road, is at great risk until this defect is corrected. [note, i had to select a date of occurrence, so i chose today's date; but this is an ongoing problem that started shortly after i purchased the vehicle in dec. 2015 and has gotten progressively worse over time.]
The passenger side low beam headlight is extremely dim.i am having trouble seeing to drive at night unless lights are on high beam.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving various speeds, the headlights were so dim that the contact could not see the road. Shaheen cadillac (5901 s pennsylvania ave, lansing, mi 48911, (517) 393-5600) was contacted and stated that the failure was well known and informed the contact to bring the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The low beam headlights continue to get less effective. When purchased two years ago they were fine. They have continuously lost brightness to the point they are barely brighter than parking lamps. This makes it very difficult to see anything more than 15' in front of the car when the bright lights cannot be used.it also reduces the visibility of the car at night causing other drivers to change lanes immediately in front on highways and pulling out in front on other roads. This is extremely dangerous!why has this not been recalled???the manufacturer has produced a defective product that endangers the driver and their passengers but wants them to spend over $600 to replace the assemblies.this is a common problem, not a fair occurance.it is more dangerous than items that have already been addressed by the nhtsa!why are families being left in danger?
Cadillac sent me a letter advising that my car may have an issue with moisture in the headlights.their proposed solution is to have me pay my dealer just to inspect the car, then pay the dealer to replace the headlights if necessary, then file a claim for reimbursement from cadillac, which they may or may not approve.my dealer confirmed that process and told me that my out of pocket cost would be about $1,700.00.shouldn'tthis be safety recall that cadillac would fix without me having to pay first and then wait for months to possibly be reimbursed? thanks for your assistance.
Headlights are dangerously dim. Vehicle is not safe to drive at night.
The low beam head lights are dim making the car a safety issue to drive at night.there has been a class action lawsuit filed against gm and gm lost.gm indicates there is a problem but will not fix the issue.the dealership want $2200 to fix the problem with the same parts that that are causing the problem.
Moisture collects in the headlight assembly which causes the low beam headlight effectiveness to seriously reduced.the lumens projected onto the road are so low that it is almost like driving without your headlights on.this presents a serious night driving safety situation.the dealer and gm admit there is a problem with the headlight design but will do nothing to correct it.

The haptic warning for the left lane departure worked intermittently 2019-2020 and then stopped working completely in 2020. I was informed in january 2020 that there is an electrical short (bare wires) in the wiring under the driver seat, which cadillac is refusing to repair at their expense.
While at a dead stop and then trying to accelerate, vehicle will have a lag before any acceleration occurs.lag can be from 5-10 seconds.has happened several times over past 12 months.extreme safety issue.been to dealership each time, but they cannot reproduce and no diagnostic codes appear.3.6l engine.i see that a recall for a very similar issues was performed on 2013 model year srxs.that recall required reprogramming of transmission control system.same issue????
When accelerating, car lunges forward and kicks back when transmission is changing gears at relatively low speed. Car has been brought to dealer (vera cadillac in pembroke pines) numerous times but dealer claims it is a normal condition. When pressed the service manger admitted it is normal but on the extreme side but refuses to remedy the situation. I believe the car is unsafe and should be repaired. Gm corporate has been has been contacted on numerous occasions and is uncooperative and refuses to return phones. They havealso refused to remedy the situation.
On several occasions over the past 3 months the car would "jolt" while accelerating in the 20 to 30 mph range so bad it felt like i was hit from behind. Felt like the transmission got caught between gears. Took the car to the dealer and had to pay over $275 for diagnostics and reprogramming even though car was still under the power train warranty. The dealer did not know if this was the fix. Very disappointed this wasn't covered under the warranty.
Car was making whistling/howling sound between 30mph-45mph. Thought possibly a breaking in issue, but continued after 1200 miles and was most prevalent at stated mph above. Shop stated bearing issue in drive shaft and entire drive shaft must be replaced. Concern over effect to other power train parts connected to defective drive shaft. Could not be driven until parts replaced. Definitively, a safety issue.
Engine light appeared on and off. Vehicle was taken to the mechanoc for diagnostic.codes appeared for timing chains and camshaft. Also z
I've been having the same problem as another driver with the exact same situation. It seems like we're both having the same problem, and we're both being ignored. When accelerating, car lunges forward and kicks back when transmission is changing gears at relatively low speed. We stopped at light or stop sign, when taking off here a loud boom or kick.
While driving the vehicle it stumps in the rear and also jolts in the fronts.
On inclined or hilly terrain the car rolls back even if in drive.after a complete stop due to traffic or stop sign or signals, when foot is taken off the brake pedal, the car begins to be rollback instantly. Such sudden shift of gear is scary. Reminds you of all the accidents caused by automatic shift of gear. It is a major safety issue. Never had experienced such roll back in the gm cars we previously owned. And they were less expensive cars. The car was bought in novi michgan and was taken to virginia. It was driven around washington dc metro area for almost one year. The issue was reported to a dealer in virginia and michigan. Not much attention or importance was given. In novi, when asked for documentation of our report, was told it is placed in the system the gps system in the car at occasions have given wrong directions, which it attempted to correct at the last moment requiring immediate and quick maneuvers. That itself causes grave safety problems in multi lane roadways. The gps system i'm the i phone is actually better and more uptodate. The spoken instructions are not as clear as other systems. The dealer said they were not equipped or trained to correct this problem
While rolling in bumper to bumper traffic transmission shifts very hard from 1st to 2nd gear

While i'm driving my driver seat moves forward and my brake and gas pedal do as well. It happens no matter if i'm on a highway or street and when i'm driving straight not sure if it happens while turning. Doesn't matter what speed i'm going either. Haven't crashed. Nothing indicating something wrong on dash
On nov 1st 2015 returning from north carolina to florida my heated seatoverheated causing 2nd degree burns.the dealership denies any problemseven after i showed them photo of the injury.

To my knowledge recall for seats out board correction not performed before taking delivery on 12/26/2014. I'm making an appt. As of today 1/2/2015.i'm hearing a whistling / howling like noise when driving between 25 to 35 mph. Gets loader when accelerating and seems to be more prevalent when starting and cold. The sound causes me to wonderif its related to something more serious (that could) fail causing lost of control. It appears to be coming from beneath the rear of vehicle.

Breaking system seems delayed, applying foot on the pedal to break takes more pressure then usual. Also wheels are constantly squeaking. For over a year i've brought this attention to the dealerships mechanic where i purchased the vehicleand their only imply is that the breaks are ceramicand will do this regardless. This does not seem safe. Every time i use my breaks i have to adjust the timing and pay closer attention to driving when using the break system. The vehicles break system does not feel safe especially while driving.
While driving on the interstate, 8/6/15, my 2 week old 2015 cadillac srx (650 mileage) suddenly accelerated and continued to do so while i was stepping on the brakes, repeatedly. My wife and i could smell the brake pads as if they were "burning" from the pressure i applied but the srx would not stop.whenever i lifted my foot off the brakes slightly, the vehicle surged forward.i pulled over into the left shoulder and shut off the engine to get the vehicle to stop. We were traumatized as our grandchild was inthe vehicle .the srx has been in the cadillac service department the past two weeks as they try to find the problem. The vehicle computer did not report any problem and test drives would not duplicate the occurrence for the serviceman.
For months now i have been having problems with my brakes. They all of a sudden go hard and don't brake as easy as they should also take a lot longer to break and have to push down further and all of a sudden a day or two later it's gone. It comes and goes randomly. I told the dealership they said they don't see a problem and have no recalls.
I'm writing to you about an incident that took place on may 18, 2019. My husband and i were traveling home in our cadillac srx at about 6:00 pm our car suddenly spun out of control as we heard a bang, throwing us across three lanes listening to cars screeching all around us on the nj turnpike, we then hit into the side of a tractor trailer, pushing us back again across the three lanes until we finally stopped in the far left lane. Our insurance company has come to the conclusion that this was a faulty issue with the vehicle. To be exact it was the rear toe link adjuster lock nut torque. The next day i called my family to tell them what had happened. About two hours later my sister called me back and said 'there is a recall on your vehicle model. It involves the rear suspension.' (bulletin no: 14457c; rear toe link adjuster lock nut torque) she gave me the website where you can enter your vin # and check to see if the vehicle was part of the recall. Our vehicle was not on the recall list. I checked again and again. I checked my paperwork from when i purchased the vehicle (used but certified, off of a lease) and the carfax. No recall.after having the insurance company inspect the vehicle, they, in fact, stated that the accident was caused by the rear suspension (rear toe link adjuster)
I received a recall # n212340980.the dealership said there is no solution until gm gets parts.my son was driving car and almost had an accident on interstate.i want public knowledge that gm has not come up with the parts and almost killed my son by car going out of control.

Takata recall rear toe link adjuster.i was traveling in the vehicle with my daughter on the feeder of beltway8 south coming down off a bridge. The vehicle begin to move across the road in a jerking matter. I did not have control of the car. I took my foot off the gas to help reduce speed of the car. One the car stop moving. I pulled over to a company driveway and called onstar to come tow the vehicle. The vehicle did not wreck or hit any othervehicle.

(bulletin no: 14457c; rear toe link adjuster lock nut torque) she gave me the website where you can enter your vin # and check to see if the vehicle was part of the recall.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 21v473000 (suspension) however, the dealer informed the contact that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and advised the contact they would provide a vehicle rental. A case was opened, and the contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

I received a recall # n212340980.the dealership said there is no solution until gm gets parts.my son was driving car and almost had an accident on interstate.i want public knowledge that gm has not come up with the parts and almost killed my son by car going out of control.
While traveling on 295 s in ri .. I felt what i thought was a blow-out of my right rear tire. I lost control of the vehicle swaying all over the road losing control of the vehicle. Luckly i went off the road onto the grassy area but was heading toward trees, i managed to turn slightly to only side swipe all the trees before coming to a stop. All the air bags side curtains deployed. When first responders arrived on the scene let got me out of the car. Explaining about the blow-out they examined the tire to find no flat... They towed the vehicle, the mechanic called in the morning to report the issue was the suspension.... He stated the inner tire rod end was not touqed properly. My 2015 srx was totaled.
Recall has been a month already with no fix. I am without a vehicle, when is this recall going to be fixed?
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving, the rear end of the vehicle started to sway. The contact stated that while his wife was driving the vehicle, the steering sensor became inoperable. The traction control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the arnie bauer buick gmc cadillac located at 5525 miller cir dr, matteson, il 60443, (708)720-7350, where it was diagnosed that the tow link adjuster separated and caused the steering sensor failure. The technician stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v571000 (suspension). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,926.
This is the 3rd time my screen has cracked since i bough the car brand new in 2015. The cadillac cue/navigation/radio/siriusxm's screen is cracking again. Cadillac has replaced the screen 2 times (once in 2017 and 2018). The screen has once again cracked. This is extremely danger as it make the screen unusable including the camera system. The car is always parked when this happens.
My 2015 cadillac srx has a headlight problem.useing low beams you can not see very well at night.i replaced them it did not help.i think it is a safety issue. I think gmc needs to recall and fix the problem.
While driving during the last month, the cue system that controls the heating/cooling controls (among other options) turned itself off. Hence, the air conditioning shut off. This may not seem to be a safety issue, but we were driving back from topsail island, nc, to our home in winchester, va and it was 97 degrees outside. After several tries, we were able to get it going again, but it continues to shut itself off unpredictably. I am 70 years old and my husband is 75. We also have a dog who can't tolerate heat. This could be a life-threatening issue for us. We are in the process of getting this replaced, for about $800! my research on the web and info from the dealer indicates that this is a widespread issue. It is deserving of a recall.
Headlights when i drive at night on low beam i can not see very well.i replace bulbs it did not help. You can not go very fast at night because you cannot see very well .you have to put lights on high beam. I think this should be recall and fix.
Delaminating of cadillac cue, controls backup camera, gps, radio, bluetooth. Factory default.
Cue screen spider web cracks, now not functioning at all, can not use radio, blue tooth, or temperature controls. It constantly changes the language of my entire controls to different languages on its own and the screen jumps back and forth between controls but none of the controls work. I am now on my second cracked screen
The built-in backup camera sometimes fails to work correctly. Normally, the backup camera image and guide appears on the center screen a few seconds after shifting into reverse. However, occasionally the video feed from the backup camera does not show when in reverse. Instead, the display is a solid bright green color. The backup angle guides are still overlaid on top of the green image. When the vehicle is turned off and restarted, the backup camera will usually work properly again. The issue is intermittent. The lack of a working backup camera severely compromises visibility when reversing.
Drive a 2015 cadillac srx and the display screen has completely went out. Cannot listen to the stereo, use the back up camera, or anything. Luckily, we were able to figure out where to push to control the temperature. We have been told by several cadillac owners and mechanics that this is a common issue with cadillac vehicles. Did our research and was not able to locate where there was a recall for this. Fortunately, we carry the extended warranty, unfortunately, we are limited as to where we can take it to get the work done. Very frustrated and disappointed.

2015 cadillac front lights very poor, dim. Took to dealership, charged us $188 to "diagnose" when the problem was obvious, they were cloudy. Then charged us $1774 we had no choice, lights were disassembled, we needed to see at night! note there were several others getting same repair right there at same time. I was angry, dealership had a "button" built in on computer to get financial credit from gm, obviously this happens often. The credit was $800 automatically,(we then paid net $974. )i want all to be replaced and credited. I called gm, they allegedly contacted cadillac and they said would not help us. Gm senior rep admitted this is a problem, happens often 2015 model. This was obviously is a recall issue!. They were going to charge us $188 (diagnose) and not fix it, or $1774 to replace/put back together. Gm senior rep said we shouldn't have paid, it would have been easier to get it solved if we didnt pay. What? we had to see! the lights were in pieces, we had to pay $188 if we didnt replace it and pay for it. We had no choice. Please help us get full reimbursement this is very obviously a problem with many of these 2015 srx.this treatment and charges to replace was outrageous. Our car just got out of warranty btw, and only has 47,600 miles on it. We have another car 11 years old, lights are fine, we had another car for 20 years never replaced front lights. They are defective pure and simple, very unsafe. We had to use brights before replace.
Cue system and screen fading out.bottom half of screen does not work.warning message on constantly.unable to clear it out.
The cue gps screen is starting to crack. My car has less that 28000 miles. In online searching i see that this is a common. According to the threads i have read this has not been declared a recall. Why not?
According to court documents, general motors won't recall the faulty cadillac cue screens, nor has it offered customers reimbursement for repairs. The lawsuit alleges some owners have paid upwards of $1,500 to fix the issue, sometimes even when their vehicles was still under warranty.
The cue system is totally unresponsive.i have around 57,000 miles and bought this car as a certified used vehicle with around 30k miles.the cue system worked when i bought the car but certain icons later stopped responding while the mileage was under 50k. And now nothing responds. I called customer service they told me to open the door while the car was running then turn off the car and count to 30 and that should unfreeze the cue.this did not work.i am told it will cost anywhere from $1200 to $2500 to fix the cue and other cadillac owners reported in forums that the fix will eventually stop working.according to the forums and what i could search this issue has impacted 2013 - 2016 models.gm should pay for this fix and the fix should be permanent.i love the srx but will never buy another gm product.this cue screen freeze is while in park and drive.i try sending navigation from the cadillac app and it does recognize receiving the map but won't load or go to navigation.when i touch the home button it will go back to the main screen but the freeze prevents any changes.i cannot use the navigation, sync the temp or modify any settings.it is totally frozen.
On the afternoon of 4/11/2018, i was driving approximately 65-70 mph on i-4 in tampa (eastbound).at approximately 2:05 pm my moonroof literally spontaneous exploded into a trillion pieces!no external force influenced this.by the grace of god i had just closed my sun shade 20 minutes prior to this.i have photos of the glass breakage after i was able to safely exit the highway a few miles away.the glass shows that it blew up and out, not in from an impact.
We stopped at light or stop sign, when taking off here a loud boom or kick.
While driving on the highway, the stabilitrak and check engine warning indicator lights come on. Next a warning reads, "engine running at reduced power" and the car slows down. When i cut the car off and restart, the warning indicator lights reset and the car will drive normal.
Vehicle's rear lift gate suddenly closed while in the open position and strikingmy sister while she loaded bags in the cargo area. This happened twice on 5/29/17.i returned home and have not driven the car since. I will take it in for service on 5/31/17. My sister was not injured, but she was shaken up, as the vehicle continued to press down on her body. A young child may have been seriously injured. The car was stopped in the park gear, with the motor on. In a shopping center.
Cue system faulty and inoperable and affects your peripheral vision and distracts from driving because the system flashes.they are insisting that i have to send the core back to the manufacturer when i have to pay $1200 to replace it, they will send it back and resell it for a higher price and i want to keep the unit for evidence.
While driving the vehicle it stumps in the rear and also jolts in the fronts.
Spider cracks all on my cue screen.
Section of touch screen no longer working
Michelin premier ltx tire tread is separating from the tire at 21000 miles. Part #31741, gm part #22996332
Low beam headlights make it hard to see at night. The infotainment system works intermittently.
I parked my car outside a friend's house in troy, michigan. After about 5 hours or so, i went to leave and the entire screen looks like it had shattered on the inside. It is a circular pattern and is not cracked from the outside. I looked this issue up and it appears there is a class action lawsuit for this issue. My dealer told me it would cost approximately $1300 to fix, which i am extremely unhappy about as a vehicle should never do this.
The complaint is about my tires. I bought my car in nov 2017/took my cat about tires/they stat i need 4 new tires/but because i just brought the car, they would give me 4 tires/and that car should have when out with them tires. I just took my car back again for tires/ now they state i need 4 new tires/my air keep going out of my tires
I had my cruise control set to 70 miles per hour and when it was time to exit the highway, the cruise control would not turn off. I entered a one-lane elevated exit. I applied the brakes, and while going 50 mph,was trying to turn the cruise control off at its switch. I shifted the car into neutral and when i put it back into drive the car started to accelerate again. I tried this more than once. I had difficulty maintaining control of my vehicle. After getting off the exit, i brought the car to a stop by placing it in neutral. I was now at the entryway to dfw airport and had my vehicle on the shoulder. After turning the car off and back on i hoped that maybe i could drive it to a parking spot, as to call a wrecker at that moment would cause me to lose my expensive ticket for an overseas flight. After i turned the car back on, i tried to take off to merge with traffic and found that my car would not get up to speed so i pulled back onto the shoulder. I tried this again and realized that my foot did not reach the accelerator as it normally does. Not only had the cruise control failed to turn off but the accelerator was now stuck down. I hit the accelerator with the heel of my foot and it dislodged. I was able to drive the car to the closest parking lot. Upon my return i had the car towed as i was fearful of driving it.
A warning light on the cue system has locked and will not work.this is a safety hazard while driving. The vehiclewas moving.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlight assemblies looked cloudy inside, which made it difficult to see while driving at night. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
You can not drive the car with low beams at night.can't see at all. Must drive with high beams and blind oncoming traffic.please make cadillac fix this problem.
Today, i paid $1789.01 at ron carter cadillac dealership, friendswood, tx, to replace two headlamps on my 2015 cadillac srx.several months ago, i notified the dealership that lights were so dim on car that i could barely see at night.it pained me to pay for this, especially when i found out it has been an ongong problem and no recall has been issued.i expected better quality from cadillac.
The contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. While driving 45 mph, the sun roof shattered. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to de la fuente cadillac (1385 e main st, el cajon, ca 92021, (619) 333-8167) where it was determined that the sun roof shattered from the inside, pushing the roof of the vehicle upward. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
Low beam headlights make it hard to see at night. The infotainment system works intermittently.
The lights on my cadillac srx is almostnonexistent. I am not able to drive my car at night because i have no low beams!! the dealership told me it would be 1800.00 to replace them but they will be replacing them with the same kind i have in there so in 4 years i will be paying another 1800.00.gm knows of the problem but will do nothing about it

The sunroof exploded while driving on interstate 67 (san diego county) on the morning of december 31, 2018. Approximate speed was 55 mph. It sounded like a large blast when it blew. Glass flew everywhere, mostly outward. It left a hole in the sunroof approximately 14 inches long and 10 inches wide.
The chrome wheels on this vehicle, which are an expensive option, are pitting and rusting.neither cadillac dealers or cadillac service are willing to honor the corrosion warranty for this problem.
My 2015 cadillac srx wheel cladding, hub caps, are coming off.took to dealer, hendrick cadillac norfolk va., because the cladding was rattaling and starting to come of the wheel.they said that the wheels were not covered by the manufactures warranty.when the cladding, hub caps, were manufactured the adhisive was not applied right and are seperating from the alloy wheels. They could possibly seperate from the wheel and cause an accident or hurt sombody.
