Airbags light turned on, my seatbelts just stopped working and are tight, my radio screen just went blank. I canā€™t drive the vehicle because of no proper working seatbelts. If i was to wreck there is nothing to prevent me the driving or my front passenger from being ejected. Ive taken my vehicle to my dealership that confirmed the airbag sensor says they have been suddenly deployed the dealer also confirmed my vehicle has never been in a accident and ive only had the vehicle since april 19 2021 the problems occured july 5 2021 and they advised me they have heard of airbags popping out of nowhere. It has not been inspected by police or the manufacturer. The seatbelts locked the radio went blank then my airbag light appeared suddenly. I asked the dealership im financing the vehicle from if they could provide me a safe vehicle until they resolve they issue because i do have toddlers and i was told no it wasnt a option i also asked if they could just exchange the vehicle for another around the same value and was also told no. I was most concerned that they allowed me to drive the vehicle off the lot after explaining to me the dangers that could occur while im on the road.
Head on collision at 40 mph on a city street. Air bags did not deploy and seat moved forward. Resulting in er visit and head laceration and loss of consciousness.
2013 cadiilac srx.consumer writes in regards to vehicle transmission malfunction.on june 14, 2014, the consumer was involved in an accident, in front of his residence.the last time, the consumer was at the dealer, he complained about the transmission acting strange. In particular without warning, it would race, the rpm would surge and it was necessary to brake during those times. When he entered the driveway, the automatic transmission was in gear. He brought the vehicle to a full and complete stop, with his right foot maintaining constant pressure on the brake pedal, he moved the gear indicator from drive to park.immediately upon doing so, the transmission started racing. As the vehicle was in park, he took his right foot of the brake pedal. His hands were not on the steering wheel and his foot was not on the brake or accelerator pedal. With the engine racing, he reached for the key to turn off the engine, but the vehicle suddenly lurched forward, out of park and shot forward. The vehicle moved approximately 15 feet, knocking over a large planter, a four inch statue and finally coming to rest against a brick facade of his home. During the ordeal, the air bag did not deploy. Four days later, the consumer received a recall notice in the mail, regarding the transmission problem.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle failed to stop when the brake pedal was depressed and crashed into the preceding vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy and the contact sustained back injuries.a police report was filed.the vehicle was not diagnosed.the manufacturer was not notified.the approximate failure mileage was 7,800.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While operating the vehicle, the backup camera and navigation system failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (cadillac of knoxville, 10005 parkside dr, knoxville, tn) and the que panel was reprogrammed, but the failures continued. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Since purchased new, this car has been involved in a number of recalls that have/have not been announced. The first incident occured 3 months after purchase--at slow speeds, the vehicle made a noise similar to that of worn brake pads/rotor at slow speeds. Upon my personal inspection, the blue lug nuts were less than hand tight on drivers front and passenger rear--the car was taken to dealership for first oil change and to inspect this defect--they stated that this vehicle was not part of the lug nut recall that was previously issued on other srx models.i stated concern of the integrity of the wheel studs since they were likely stressed while driving with loose nuts, along with potential uneven tire wear, but the dealership did not agree.6 months later, a recall was issued for door handles--the fix was removing and milling down parts and placing back on. 6 months later, the car would nearly stall out/have delayed response to acceleration after stopping at a stop sign--this could have cause serious injury if occured while pulling out into traffic (luckily never the case)-- thought this was due to wife letting gas level reach low level before refilling, but found out was electronic issue in the program (recalled and fixed). 2 months later the car does not shift well between rapid acceleration--recieved notification of another computer issue that controls the transmission. (although a card was sent in the mail notifying of this issue, this did not show up on the nhtsa website when searched). A true concern for the safety of my wife and 2 small children--additionally due to the nature of some of these issues, there is concern with the mechanical integrity of this vehcile in the future--stress on wheel studs, drawn out automatic shifting causing stress on the transmission.although many of these items have been "fixed" these corrections do not take into account other damge
Cadillac cue touchscreen is inoperable. Vehicle has 31,000 miles. I purchased the vehicle new. Vehicle is out of warranty but according to web searches, this is a common problem with the cue.the touchscreen is non-responsive to touch interface for various automotive systems which could be a safety hazard.such as defogging or defrosting the windshield. Systems such as navigation, interior climate control, media controls, bluetooth controls, and other electronic controls.the dealership says it is out of their control. I do not want to pay $2500 (cadillac quote) to repair something that appears to be a common failure item for the year model.
The cue infotainment system is no longer operable.the screen has a webbing effect which is called delamination.this is the second time that this has happened to this vehicle. The dealership replaced the screen before i purchased the car then it happened again months after my warranty ran out. My vehicle was at arnie bauer gmc/buick & cadillac august 2018 when the screen cracked.i was getting my battery looked at.i immediately notified the service department when i got the vehicle back and saw the webbing in the screen.service claimed they where not responsible because they could not verify that the screen was not like that before the vehicle was brought in.in august of 2020 the screen stopped working altogether. My vehicle is no longer hands free.i can not pair my phone via bluetooth and therefore cannot answer or make any calls without touching the phone.additionally i can now only control climate functions that have a dedicated button not on the screen.i'm not able to easily change a radio station or access any of the settings associated with the cue screen.i have no idea if this will affect other functions in this center unit but believe it will or why else would gm insist that the whole unit be replaced.my car is not only my transportation but it is also my livelihood. I will not pay $1500 -2000 to fix gm's faulty equipment. Especially since they know it's faulty.
I have a 2013 cadillac srx. I have had it exactly a year from june 30 2017-june 30th 2018. I have hadproblems with the lights every since i bought it. When you go from bright to dim its like cutting off your headlights completely. It is very unsafe and dangerous. I took off work one day to take the car back to the same dealership i bought it from to see if they could fix the problem. They tried there best not to work on it. They had every excuse. They first wanted me to trade my car in for another and this took 2 hours and they wanted me to pay 10,000 extra to what i already owe on the car i bought from them the first time. Then i tell them i want my car fixed. So they send me to another employee . He trying his best to find any excuse to not be able to work on it. Needless to remind u i purchased a bumper to bumper warranty when i bought the car i paid an extra $2,400. So the employee is telling me it does not cover the bumper it only covers electrical components between the bumper. So i was lied to when i bought the warranty. Besides that he then tells me that it will be $150 just to check my headlights even to he already checked with another srx and said that they where really dim compared to the other used srx. But he want to charge me $150 just to check for electrical problems and charge me $21 a bulb. Needless to say i waited another 2 hours i was there for 4 hours and nobody tried to fix nothing.
Bought a 2013srx ( used)low beams are very dim . Cannot tell they on on at night . High beams great .53000 miles on vehicle . I feel it is dangerous to drive at night.
Two problems, 1) the fuel gauge does not accurately reflect the amount of fuel left in the tank and 2) the range reported on the instrument panel does not reflect the amount of fuel remaining. 1) visually the gauge needle does not graphically align with the tic marks showing full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and low level. This makes it very hard to figure out just how much fuel is left in the tank. 2) the "range remaining" indicator tracks faster fuel use as the fuel level decreases. The last quarter tank (as shown on the visual gauge) is used up in less than 50 miles, which doesn't make sense if the full tank reads a full range of 345 miles. The range indicator does not seem to correspond to the level of fuel in the tank. With a low amount of fuel, less than a 1/4 tank, the "range remaining" indicator drops off very rapidly, within less than ten miles of distance traveled at constant speed, from a range of about 50 miles to 0 miles left. Driving on desert roads without many gas stations around, makes for a real guessing game.
The cue system is not working. Looking at blogs it seems to be an on going issue that cadillac needs to address.
The cadillac cue (information/navigation/air condition system) developed spider web type cracks inside the screen; this makes it hard to see or use control features. I went online and found hundreds of people are having the same issue. One person has only 19,000 miles and has the web like cracks. It was 90 when i got into my car and saw a few of these cracks (these cracks are smooth to touch on screen), but a week later it's gotten bigger. A source says it's a factory defect, and that the cracks are ther glue or adhesive has dissipated, and is detaching the screen from the actual component. I have 44,000 miles on my vehicle ... It stays under the carport, but is still having this issue. With so many people complaining and posting pictures on general motors discussion thread, one would think something would've gotten done. As stated before, it was a small line and it's constantly spreading throughout the cadillac cue screen. It's a simple issue, but should consumers have to pay the dealership for something they have no control over? here is the link with others complaining about ther same thing. The cadillac cue screen cracked, like a spider web. Unable to use screen for navigation, phone, radio, climate, weather, etc.00
Ongoing issues with the vehicle transmission and speedometer since the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was returned to legacy chevrolet (legacy automotive of columbus, llc) reference invoice # [xxx] more that five (5) times for the same issues.issues range from: due to inadvertent acceleration of the engine, the speedometer read that it is traveling at 160 miles an hourwhen traveling at approximately 70 miles and hour. Speedometer gage does not reset and vehicle accelerates causing the transmission to lag in it's acceleration response time. To back up gallery camera error waning codeson june 18th i contacted general motors regarding my vehicle problem and issues with getting assistance from legacy chevrolet (legacy automotive of columbus, llc). I have been working with [xxx]a supervisor at general motors, case # [xxx] who can be reached at 18667905700 ext # [xxx], [xxx] contacted legacy chevrolet (legacy automotive of columbus, llc). About getting help through my current warranty to fix the issues with the car, he was informed by [xxx], that they will not be able to provide me a loaner car per the dma. And service manager advice, with the knowledge that there isclusters are on restriction so we can not get oneissue with the vehicle and that they "are on restriction so we can not get one" ([xxx] , legacy automotivewarranty administrator) see email above.current situation: on july 8th, i contacted gneral motors about the recall on vin: [xxx] and to verify that the cluster display was ordered and that the known issues was fixed. The findings are as follows:there has been more than 10 recalls on this vehicle. Still no resolution to the problem.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The cadillac cue system becomes non responsive which does not allow you to control most things which are electronically controlled from that system which is the radio, air conditioning system, and other systems. You do not have to be in motion to use this system. The system developed small cracks all over which start from the corners and thedealership refuses to fix them.
The touch screen does not work at all. It's a safety hazard as you cannot change the ac/heat/defrost etc. I've tried doing the factory reset and that does not fix the radio problem either.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving approximately 13 mph, the vehicle started to jerk and the electric seats and gps did not work. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (king o'rourke gmc buick, cadillac in smithtown, ny, 631-724-4700) where the failures were repaired under the warranty. The contact also stated that the power liftgate did not work. The same dealer was contacted and an appointment was scheduled for november 3, 2017. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the failure would be investigated. The contact was issued a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. .consumer stated water damage in car due to failed sunroof drains. Front passenger and rear passenger carpet and water in trunk. Updated 8/6/18
My radio doesn't always work.it seems that i can hear the sirius radio stations but the i cannot hear the fm stations.the first time this happened was the week i purchased the car and i thought is was "operator" error since the system was very different than my previous car.i initially thought i may have inadvertently hit mute.overtime i realized mute was not on, and that i could hear the sirius radio stations.will be taking it to the dealership next week.
The vehicle's headlights are very dim to a point where it is not safe to drive atnight without bright or high beams on. We have experienced dangerous conditions when driving on dark or dimly lit roads at night. When taken to the dealership with the problem we were told that was no solution and that gm was aware of the problem. No solution was offered. When the gm customer service line was called, no assistance was given after repeated promises that some one would return our call. We were finally told to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnosis that would cost about $135. My comment was, why would i pay for a diagnosis when i have been told that it cannot be fixed. This is a safety issue and i suppose it is cheaper for gm to settle death claims than issue a recall to fix the problem.
The cadillac cue system is not responding,it is completely frozen. I am not able to control the climate nor hot or cold, not able to defrost my car. The screen defect can cause or could lead to the loss of ventilation control functionality. This is dangerous and most certainly a safety issue. The issue occurred when car was stationary as i was turning my car on to head home from work i noticed the screen was not functioning.
Cue problems. The touchscreen goes black or freezes while the vehicle is moving. Also the middle bottom section does not respond affecting heating/ac functions.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the cadillac user experience (cue) screen was cracked. As a result, the various functions that the cue screen controlled were no longer functional. The failure occurred while at a goodyear repair facility. The goodyear technician informed the contact that the failure was due to extreme temperatures. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
After 52000 miles the cue touch screen does not work
My cue screen has become unresponsive and i can no longer link my cell phone, use the gps for driving and other features. It all started with a small hairline on the corner of the cue screen back 2016/2017. The dealership stated it was $1500 to replace the entire unit which are not covered under the warranty.florida is now a handsfree in the school zone and i drive to pick-up my daughter everyday from school. What if there is an emergency and i can't pick up my cell, since the cue no longer with sync to my bluetooth on my cell. The cue screen is locked in one location and i feel it is unsafe for the driver to no longer have the gps, bluetooth and other features we paid for. Attached, please find the article on the class action lawsuit filed over cracked cadillac cue screens. I pray i don't have to wait years like the headlights lawsuits with general motors.thank you for your time and assistance, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Had to replace my 2013 srx battery then not long after my cue system froze up i took it to cadillac dealer as it controls heat/air/radio/etc. Another mechanic thought an update would work but nope the one guy said center stack needs to be replaced another said hmi module (same dealership) a $1500.00 repair but they can't get the partit's on back -order . Car hesitates when accelerating .
The cue system stoped working with the tough screen and its now impossible to set up hands free driving.
This is a report of a nearly fatal accident on june 29th, 2013 with a new cadillac srx that was leased from gm.the accident involved both me and my daughterwho were belted in the vehicle which caught fire and accelerate to 110 mph. We were traveling on rt 127 n with the cruise control set at 60 mph. I was passing another vehicle and the speed started to dramatically increase.i would break and the speed would come down and then it would continue to rise.black smoke was coming out of the engine.using both feet on the brake, it finally came down to 5mph, but it would not stop.i pulled over at 5 mph and shifted the car into park.i used onstar and shortly thereafter the fire department, the sheriff, and another police officer were on the scene. This was a life threatening event!!the car was towed back to the dealership in adrian.i leased this car on 5-31-13, our second srx and less than a month old. I sent a letter to [xxx] at gm regarding the aforementioned and have had no response.i am going on week two with no car and no resolution with this incident.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Stationary car of only 4.5 months age, was hit in rear on 15 may 14, and was knocked 15 ft into another car. The damage appeared minor though the other car was totaled out. On 9 july14, the battery failed for no apparent reason. Impacts can damage the brittle lead cores of batteries. Warranty replaced the dead battery but it should have been done by the other driver's auto insurance company. Luckily, the battery did not catch fire but; however, when numerous batteries are inter linked, fire is a very real risk and it can occur weeks later while in the garage at home.
I was in the parking lot of a public gym at approximately 6:00am, tuesday, november 20th, 2018. I started my car and turned on my seat warmer as i was leaving the gym. Within 30-45 seconds, i felt a hot spot burning my lower back area. I immediately turned off the seat warmer, and i started to smell burnt rubber. The burned area ofabout the size of a dime was burned into the lower portion of the driver's seat. This caused two cigarette sized holes to burn into my jacket that i was wearing as well. Cadillac was contacted (case #[xxx]) and they were not forthcoming in informing me that they have had previous problems with this issue. This could have been a catastrophic event if i had not been there to turn off the seat warmer. After searching the internet, this has happened to multiple other cadillac srx 2013 owners. There needs to be a recall for this safety issue.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
After coming to a stop sign or traffic light, i will try to push my gas pedal and the srx will move about 2 feet or so and then completely stop.this has happened 4 or 5 times and because the dealership cannot recreate the problem, they say there's nothing they can do.the srx doesn't make any noise while pushing the pedal, it just acts as if the car is turned off.the only way to make it move again is if i change it into reverse or neutral and then back into drive.i've been almost killed at different intersections on several different occasions since i bought the car in july of 2013. The cue system is also having some issues such as the radio will completely stop working for several minutes at a time even though it shows that i'm pushing buttons to change the channel or volume.i owned a 2011 srx before and never had this problem.i'm 8 months pregnant and afraid that i'll end up in a deadly vehicle crash.please help!
Touch screen(cue) stopped working completely. I cannot change heating and cooling listen to radio or any of the other functions that the touchscreen offers. There have been many other complaints from consumers of this make and model concerning the cue being defective. I also understand there is a class action lawsuit filed which i will put put my name on. My dealer that i purchased the vehicle from didn't even attempt to do anything all they said was "it's not working and you need to take it to a dealership that handles cadillacs." i have read the cost can be anywhere from 1200 to 1500 dollars to fix and this was not covered under my extended warranty. I just purchased this vehicle in march of this year. Very disappointing!
After searching and calling around i am hearing that the instrument cluster on the 2013 srx has had numerous issues. This morning upon cranking the car and driving to work i quickly realized that none of my instruments were responding. No speed, no gas gauge, nothing. The two shops that i called said that they have also experienced problems with the cadillac srx instrument panel as well as several other gm products from that same year.
The seat warmer in my vehicle malfunctioned and caused a fire in my driver's seat. I was not driving my vehicle at the time. I used the auto start feature to turn on the car so i could clear the snow from my car. When i got in my vehicle, i sat down and could smell something burning. It took me a minute to realize that it was my seat that was on fire.i was able to put the fire out by patting the flames with my gloved hands before the fire got out of control.i notified my local cadillac dealership as well as the general motors corporate office about this issue. General motors has concluded that they will not accept any responsibility for the damages nor will they issue a recall or warning to other consumers of this defect. Since this happened to me i have found that there are other victims of the same issue. In indiana, another family had the same thing happen to them and like me cadillac general motors is not taking any accountability. I believe that consumers are at risk and someone needs to ensure that they are made aware of this risk and should cadillac accountable for allowing these tragic situations to continue to occur. I was fortunate that i was not injured. Someone else may not be so lucky.
The computer on the dash that controlls the back up cam radio etc. Has been replaced while under warranty began cracking for no apparent reason.cadillac will not replace the part and cannot guarantee the part will not fail a 3rd time.told many people have this problem.
My cadillac que system only responds to touch when it wants to.i have been informed the que screen/system needs replaced at a cost of $1500. I cannot turn my a/c off or use navigation plus any feature on the home screen.very unhappy about this as it seems to be a very commen problem.recall time!!!💩
Can not see with low beams at night. Also, the screen freezes on the "cue" display
No low beam headlight visibility. Cadillac said there is no fix.
Cue system froze. Unable to control radio, navigation system, heater, a/c, hands free phone, etc.went on a cadillac forum and was able to reset it one time and then quit working again after a few.i was unable to reset it a second time.unfortunately, this all happened at 52,000 miles 2,000 miles after the warranty expired.i am not willing to pay close to $2,000 to have it repaired, after doing research, this electrical issue seems to be a frequent problem and should result in a recall.
At all times my headlights are dim and when i first start my vehicle my headlights strobe. I understand this is a common problem so i called my local dealer as well as cadillac and both told me it would not be fixed as a recall/safety concern. When operating my vehicle at night i must drive with high beams, it's as if my low beams aren't on at all. My problem started around 80,000 and now at 91,000 my headlights are useless.
Touch screen became inoperable;first the fan started not working to defrost the window intermittently, then the choice of venting stopped working, then the radio.repair:dealership replaced touch screen (f-control) costing us $1507.72....submitted as i see you are reviewing same issue in teslas.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. Upon starting the vehicle, the defogger failed to operate due to the fact that the touch screen in the vehicle was inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact scheduled an appointment with coleman buick gmc cadillac (100 renaissance blvd, lawrenceville, nj 08648 (609) 482-3473). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the cadillac user experience (cue) touch screen failed to function. When attempting to utilize the touch screen function, it was unavailable due to the internal failure of the cue system. The contact was unable to use specific electrical functions, such as the defroster, which had to be manually selected from the cue touch screen. The dealer (gross chevrolet buick chrysler dodge jeep ram of neillsville, 404 e division st, neillsville, wi 54456, 1-(715) 743-3207) suggested having cue customer care assist with the failure. The contact was referred to the dealer regarding the repair cost. The dealer and the manufacturer refused to cover the repair. The cue manufacturer, dealer, and the vehicle manufacturer advised the contact to replace the cue touch screen. The part was not replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.
The lift gate will not open due to the control module short circuitiing. This was due to water backing up from the sunroof drain hose which seeped into the trunk area and shorted out the liftgate control box.
I purchased my 2013 srx at the end of march 2013.on more than 4 occasions i have been at a stop.when i press the accelerator the car coasts slightly but does not go.i pull off the accelerator and push the accelerator again.after repeating this process, and several seconds later the vehicle will slowly move.i had it in the dealership in january and they could not find anything wrong.it has happened several times again including twice within the last week and i have scheduled another appointment for next week.

My headlights were needing replacement as they were too dim to drive at night. Thereis a class action lawsuit against it so they sent out letters to get replaced and they would reimburse. The lights were on back order and due to covid it complicated things even more. When the headlights finally came in cadillac will not reimburse. There is also an issue with the cue. It doesn't work at all and cadillac will not recall it
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was a delay and hesitation when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that there was a delay in response when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated while driving at higher speeds there was an abnormal sound being emitted from the rear suspension. The contact stated that there was no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jim clark chevrolet-cadillac (911 goldenbelt blvd, junction city, ks 66410) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 14v212000 (power train) and 14v571000 (suspension) however, the repairs failed to remedy the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 8,400.*dt

Cue touchscreen does not respond.this controls your radio, ac, defroster, navigation.at 52,000 cadillac will not warranty this.very common problem in the cadillac forums.the radio control unit has been discontinued yet the cadillac reps say this is the first we have heard of it.completely denying the problem
Cue system froze up, no response from touch screen, vss system warning light on, seat heaters do not work.thus no ability to control heater or defrost system and owners manual indicated that if the vss light is lit the vss system is not operational.it is not possible to operate a vehicle in michigan in the winter with out control of the defroster and since the vss system is tied in to the brakes i am not confident the antilock brake system will function. Vehicle purchased 6-29-13 and has approx 37,000 miles. Dealer offered to repair for $1750.00 but negotiated to $750.00i feel this is a safety defect on a low mileage vehicle and the manufacture should cover the cost of repairs. There have been at least 5 "service update bulletins " with softerware updated for the cue system on this vehicle when i have had it in for service. So clearly there are electronic problems with this system and my latest problem impacts my safety while operating this vehicle in the wintertime. I am requesting that nhtsa investigate thes softerwarecand operational issues to preserve driver safety while using this vehicle. It was parked in the garage in late august 2016 and when started up in early november the cue controlsystem screen was unresponsive.
Unsafe defected headlights. Today, i had a tech at claude nolan cadillac jacksonville, fl check the headlights and the cue-system on my 2013 srx model. The tech-adviser informed me that i need headlamps that cost $1200 each and three downloads to fix the cue technology system issue. What? these issues are well documented as ongoing issues. Why are we...the customers addressing general motors (gm) noted defect/issue surrounding the srx 2013 model? i will use social media to inform folks and potential buyers to beware of this safety issue. Gm is not being accountable nor responsible. The srx 2013 model is an unsafe vehicle due to their headlights: a recall is needed for this defect (that's the right thing to do). Buyers beware of any other gm-cadillac models; not to mention the cadillac-cue system experience that freeze or cycle automatically without touch.as a consumer, i supported gm-american cars (not after this).remember gm, you can measure lost revenue.
1st event on 9/6/14: entering freeway at 45 mph, increased acceleration to merge and the engine suddenly lagged with zero power for 2-3 seconds when the car tried to shift into the next gear. 2nd event 9-11-14: accelerated from a stop. Operated properly through 1st and 2nd gear. When the transmission shifted into 3rd gear, the engine lagged/lost power.accelerator continued to be depressed and 2-3 seconds later, full power came back.additional event aug-2014: a passing maneuver required hard acceleration which resulted in a lag when the transmission tried to shift into a passing gear. Again we had zero power with the engine dropping to idle for at least 3 seconds and then suddenly coming back up to speed.note: we've had the car reprogrammed per nhtsa recall 14132 in june 2014.this is the same symptoms but occurring at much higher speeds and gear selection.car is unsafe as the power loss could've resulted in a rear end collision.
Takata recallabout 2 weeks ago, i notice while driving that i'm loosing the acceleration. The front gausr of rpm is not consistent. We can feel the engine is having trouble going forwrd evry time i punch in the gas pedal. My passanger and i can feel the acceleration bit chocking. So, i brought it some mechanics & they says possible time chain problem. They diagnose the car and here some of the code came out. P0011, p0014, p0016, p0018, p0021. At first, they thought of changing the camshaft sensors and crankshaft sensors maybe it would resolve the problem but it didn't. They suggest to call the cadillac dealer possible for recalls. I drive my car daily to work, from merced to lathrop, that's about 120 miles back and fort. I used to drive my car from merced to frement from the past 4years everyday but i got tranfer to lathrop about 2 years now.
I purchased a 2013 srx used in january of 2017 and on several occasions today being the latest, after coming to a complete stop at 4-way intersections, when i try to press the gas pedal and move into the intersection the car coasts without power and leaves me stranded for a few seconds.with the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor the vehicle all of a sudden bolts forward causing the vehicle "peel out".being stranded in the intersection is scary and i am afraid i will be hit.this is a safety concern, but it does not happen on a consistent basis for the dealership to locate the problem.i see on the internet several other concerns that sound very similar to this.
The engine shut down in the middle of the freeway. I had no power to accelerate the car. There was no light on the dashboard to let me know that the car wasn't running. I had hit the brakes and there was no power brake. Then i tried to accelerate. I was going downhill and was able to coast across two lanes of traffic to the side. Mass airflow sensor was bad.
When entering the street from my driveway, the transmission failed to engage for four to five seconds.this has happened several times.when i took the vehicle in to galles & davis in albuquerque, they said the problem was due to an electronic acceleration system and that nothing culd be done.
The 3 to 4 second lag in acceleration has returned.dealer will do nothing because there is not another recall
I was driving on i94 west in the passing lane at 72 miles per hour when my engine shut down.the dashboard flashed 72, then 62, and 52 miles with an icon showing that the car was shutting down.fortunately, traffic allowed me to coast to exit 112 (a marshall, mi rest stop) where i waited 1.5 hours for a tow.general motors charged me for the tow.it has been two weeks and my car is still with gm for service 45 miles from my home.i am reporting this incident so that you are aware and hopefully it will not happen to others.i was lucky.it was scary and i am still quite shaken.this is an expensive vehicle that is only a year or more in age.it is unacceptable that it has a major defect.i fear for my safety and would prefer a replacement vehicle instead of the one i was driving.
I was driving on a side road, came to a busy road stop sign, stopped, went to turn right and lost acceleration power for approximately 5 seconds. My car just coasted into the direction i was turning my steering wheel. No power! fortunately, at the time, there no cars coming close enough, to make my vehicle a hazard. But, if the conditions were different, i certainly would have been in danger. The power picked back up after a few seconds, and i had acceleration power again. The same scenario has happened 4 times now, always after stopping and then trying to accelerate, and losing power for a few seconds, approx. 5 seconds. It began on 10/13/13, then on: 11/4/13, 1/3/14. And 2/3/14. I bought this 2013 cadillac srx luxury brand new on 4/20/13.
Stopped at a light. Light changed to green and pressed peddle to accelerate. Vehicle started normally into intersection and then would not continue for 5 to 7 seconds. The engine was at idle, not stalled, and would not respond to the peddle no matter what input was rendered. Been to dealer several times and even had a recorder installed, but they could find nothing wrong and returned the vehicle to us. This will eventually cause a fatality.
I had come to a stop to turn left. I was waiting for the traffic to clear, when there was adequate distance between cars, i pushed on the gas pedal and nothing happened. The car just stood still, no lights came on, no warnings, no engine rev, nothing happened for about 3-4 secs. However, by this point the cars were closing in on me and finally after i let off the pedal and slammed down on it again, my srx moved and cleared the road way. It was very scary to be sitting there and expecting the car to move when the gas pedal is depressed and nothing happens.
Acceleration problemstarting from stop light (3)and turning right on ared light after a full stop. (1)in all cases car was accelerated from a fully stopped position. About 10 feet into the acceleration the car stopped accelerating for 2-4 secs then abruptly accelerated as commanded lurching forward. These events were random without any warning lights being illuminated during the event. Being an unknown conditiona driver could expose the vehicle to an accident because of its shut down on acceleration.
My car had been stalling, or "jerking" when a accelerating for a week or so before the following incident, but due to the shelter in place ordinance, lput off taking it to a mechanic.however, my car finally shut off at a stop light, causing a distracted driver to nearly rear end me.a friendly driver assisted me with pushing it (traveling north on mannheim rd in hillside) to an amoco station.i called onstar initially to get it towed, but since my father is a retired mechanic, l called him.he was able to start it and drove it to their home just a couple miles from that location.he checked with a fellow/working mechanic and he thought the problem was a air flow sensor.that part was replaced a couple days later.i drove the car to run several errands and as l was leaving the grocery store on st. Charles rd in berkeley, headed east, the same thing happened.again, my father met me at the location, got it to start and drove it to a working mechanic.after placing it on a machine for review, the mechanic stated that it appeared to be the catalytic converter as he didn't see anything else wrong.i was checking online for pricing before agreeing to repairs only to discover that there was a recall on the same make/model for hesitation in acceleration, due to the catalytic converter.now, i'm wondering if there's a faulty converter issue on my end, and i'd like this to be investigated.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving at any speed, the vehicle lost power without warning and the engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The spark plugs were replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 13v097000 (electrical system, power train). The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
While car was running it started jerking and it would not go faster than 20mph. When car came to a stop it turned off. When starting the car before it starts running it would jerk again and slowing go up to max 30mph.

About a month ago i noticed the low beams on my vehicle are very dim. They are so dim i have gotten out of my vehicle to ensure that they are even on. They are on but i cannot see more than 5ft in front of me while driving at night. It is very scary and dangerous how dim they are. Sometimes i turn on my high beams to see at night but this is also dangerous to other drivers.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving at night, the contact noticed that the headlights failed to illuminate brightly. The contact called orr cadillac of fort smith (located at 6500 autopark dr, fort smith, ar 72903, (479) 310-0948) and was informed to schedule an appointment. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired due to the diagnostic and repair fees. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
I have a 2013 cadillac srx with the same problem. How do i join the class action suit?
At all times my headlights are dim and when i first start my vehicle my headlights strobe. I understand this is a common problem so i called my local dealer as well as cadillac and both told me it would not be fixed as a recall/safety concern. When operating my vehicle at night i must drive with high beams, it's as if my low beams aren't on at all. My problem started around 80,000 and now at 91,000 my headlights are useless.
The headlights on the vehicle are defective and do not work! this is a huge issue and there are recalls in some states but not wa state. Driving at night is dangerous and i am really scared as i have almost gotten in multiple accidents! i have had the headlights replaced at the dealership last year for over $300 and it did nothing. They actually seem dimmer. There is a verified moisture issue and you can see condensation in the headlight. I have kept my vehicle on the factory recommended service schedule in the 4 years i have owned it and it is so dangerous to drive at night. Replacing the bulbs to newer better ones did nothing and the dealership says there is nothing they can do. Based on the number of complaints and letters some owners are getting they are aware of the problem. Am i supposed to sue gm when i get in an accident or worse due to faulty equipment that they are aware of? why is nothing being done to help? this is so dangerous.*dt
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving at night the low-beam headlights failed to provide adequate illumination causing a visibility hazard to the driver. The cause of failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.
The headlights have been dim from the time we bought the car, but have become dimmer over the past months.it is hard to see at night on a well lit street and just about impossible on a dark neighborhood street.i am afraid that this will lead to an accident and injury.the problem is getting worse.i feel the need to drive with the brights on all the time now.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving at night with the low beam head lights activated, the illumination was very dim which created a visibility hazard for the driver. The cause of the failure was not determined. King cadillac located at 1700 w. Evans st, florence, sc 29501, was notified and advised the contact that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Low beam headlights are to dim to safely drive at night.
Low beam headlights are very dim night driving is very dangerous. Replaced bulbs with little or no results. This is a common problem that cadillac will not address. The reflectors in headlight assembly are defective.
I just bought this 2013 cadillac srx luxury used from a car lot in madison wi. On our way home to baraboo wi the headlights turned on cause it was getting dark. I couldn't tell if the lights were on or not. To test to see if the headlights worked properly i waited until it was dark and i drove a half mile. As all the other owners of this model the low beams are not bright enough for night driving. I could not see what seems to be a few feet in front of me. I could not see the sides of the road at all. This is a major safety issue. I had to purchase a car because a deer ran in front of my old one. The insurance company totaled my car. I could not imagine trying to drive the same dark highway on my way home from work with these low beams. There are deer everywhere in wi. There is a class action lawsuit against gm in regards to this problem. I would like to see a recall or a fix to be available that would correct this dangerous issue.
Our low beam headlamps are dim. We bought the car in may 2015, then left the area. We took it in for routine service three months later and complained about them. We were under bumper to bumper warranty for 50,000 miles. We were told that's just the way they are. We took it in to other dealerships as we traveled and were told the same thing. After 9 different times over 2 1/2 years, we finally insisted they be checked, after our warranty had recently expired. Then they confirmed there was an internal fault with the lamps and they need to be replaced, at a cost of $1,100. We contacted gm with our complaint. The best they will do is install them for free, but we have to pay over $800 for new lamps. We have since learned there is a class action suit starting because this is a huge problem for many. We literally cannot see at night or before daylight without using our high beams. We now will replace them ourselves with after market parts but that's not a guarantee that will fix the problem. We saw a number of complaints on your website. What makes us angry is that we were literally blown off with our complaint 9 times at various dealerships (attachment has all these documented) before a dealership said they had just diagnosed this problem with another customer after she insisted the service advisor drive it home one night. It is a safety hazard and a defect. We assure you, cadillac is aware of it. There are a lot of us driving unsafely. We try to avoid driving at night or dusk but that's not always possible.
I had to drive this car at night extensively recently.we noticed that we are unable to see adequately while driving at night with the headlights onthe normal headlight bulb is so dim that it appears that not be working which leaves you with the only option of using high beams even while in the city.the dealer said they get about 3 calls per day complaining about the same issue.he added that there is no fix from cadillac but that they are well aware of it and have just chosen to do nothing. Coincidentally this issue is so bad there is a class action lawsuit.we have literally stopped driving at night to avoid having a crash.
Low beams are very, very dim. I find it hard to drive at night and often drive my wife's outback at night specially if raining!
My headlights are not very bright. The bulb looks cloudy. I asked the dealer service department and they couldn'tsee a problem. I don'tdrive at night if i have a choice since the lights are so dim. The problem started about 2 years ago but i haven't done anything since the service department didn'tsee a problem
The lights on this car have been an issue from the time of purchase! first we thought the lights needed to be adjusted. Dealership told us they are adjusted perfectly. I cannot drive this car at night! i will kill someone or myself! contacted dealership again & was told they could meet us halfway for replacement. Cadillac is very aware of this. I've researched this problem & know other owners have the same problem. I tell everyone not to purchase a cadillac because they do not stand behind their flaws. I want to include my name so that when my husband has to bury me from getting killed in an accident he will have proof that the complaint was made to our government as well as numerous times to the dealership. It is going to take the death of one or more persons and an outrageous negligent lawsuit for gm to get on board with this problem. I've even made a file for my husband to access to give to attorney upon my death. Thank you gm, at least my husband will be able to buy a new ford! sincerely, [xxx] car was purchased from ron taylor cadillac in houston, txinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cw
Purchased a 2013 cadillac srx yesterday from local dealer. Both headlights have virtually no low beam. And car has to be driven with lights on hi-beam when dark. Resulting in a very unsafe condition for on-comming traffic. Internet research shows numerous reports of others with the same "uselesslow beam" headlight problem.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights were extremely dim and the brightness gradually reduced. The failure made it difficult to drive at night. The contact called ritchey cadillac (located at 932 n nova rd 101,daytona beach, fl 32117, 386-675-1019) and informed them of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to have the vehicle diagnosed. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.*ln
I am noticing that my head lights are very dim on my 2013 srx cadillac, feeling very unsafe to drive at night.
Dim headlights are so dim that you can not see to drive this vehicle after ddark. Ive talked to several service shops and all say that cadillac is well aware of the problem but wont fix it. Its a minium $475 fix out of poacket
2013 cadillac srx headlights are so dim that it is too dangerous to use them for night driving. Numerous other identical complaints have been made to the nhtsa.the local dealership stated that they have numerous other customers with the identical complaint. This affects more similar vehicles other than 2013. Class action law suits have been made and acted upon in both california and florida. This issue is applicable in all states and situations where the problem exists. The prescribed fix is a one-for-one replacement which would result in a similar problem down the line. . it appears that the problem is with the internal circular lens in front of the lamp which is so opaque that light from the lamp does not go through properly but is dimmed to a point where it makes the headlamps unsafe. Unsafe is the key word....unsafe..unsafe..unsafe..whenever the headlamps are being depended on for night time drivinga work scheduler at the local dealer stated that they have no alternative correction for this issue and that it would take some people to die due to this issue before a problem resolution would be put in place....pretty sad opinion !!!
Headlights are so dim that i have to drive with brights on continuously at night.when oncoming traffic signals me by blinding me, i switch to dims and have to guess at where the road is.this is unacceptable.the vehicle was brought in while still under basic warranty.problem not resolved.i even purchased an extended warranty.no help there either. I am paying for a vehicle that i cannot safely drive at night.no way i can let my kids use this vehicle at night. I am deeply disappointed.
My headlights are extremely dim. I have had both bulbs replaced but my low beams are still to dim. This makes it extremely hard to see while driving at night. Tonight, i almost hit a deer and another car because of this issue. Often, i have to drive with my high-beams on to be able to adequately see the road. I have researched this issue and there are class action lawsuits in other states regarding this problem. This issue needs to be addressed. Not being able to see adequately puts myself and others in danger.
Bought a 2013 srx and drove it home at night , could not see on dim lights and used bright lights to get home. Called dealer and was told to have it checked out i am having new bulbs put in but after reading this web site i am not thinking they will be any better. These lights are so dangerous and the cars should not be allowed to be resold until fixed.very disappointed in every way,you should do your job and do a recall as gm is not doing theirs.
Service advanced front lighting that deals with adaptive forward lighting for cadillac srx headlights.now this is a known safety issue that cadillac refuses to take care of .there have been class action law suits filed on this topic and cases won in two states florida & california where gm had to replace these faulty headlights at their expense.what about those of us in the 48 states that have these problems and cadillac says youhave to pay $ 1,400 upfront then appeal the repair and they will see if it is warranted for reimbursement.look folks at nhts this is a safety issue when a vehicle's headlights are not working properly and the government needs to go after general motors and have them fix this at their expense.this is just like the takata air bag recall.doesn't nhts care about people driving around with unsafe headlights that do not work properly?
I bought my caddy in 2015 (after defect was made known to repair shops) at carmax. Replaced light bulb 1/2020. The problem is the headlight housing lets water in dimming bulb until night driving is impossible! i recieved the notice from gm about headlight defect late march 2020. The pandemic hit and i didnt have the $ or willingness to expose mysef to covid. Gm gave owners until june 2020 to make the repair out of pocket and file for reimburse ment. 6 months later customers are still waiting on checks for reimbuirsement. Gm refuses to reopen the matter and feels they have done enough to make this right for customers. This will eventually cause a wreck and possible death.
Dim lights are working at about 20 percent.
In 2016 the headlights began to dim. The beams became so bad it was difficult to see at night and was unsafe to drive. The dealer said it was a common problem. The headlamp housing bubbled causing it to obstruct the beam. In our case it was like an upper eyelid closing over the eye. The headlamps had to be replaced.
The low beam headlights are extremely dim.i called a cadillac dealer and they recognized and admitted it is a known problem but they do not have a way to repair it.they said they tried replacing the bulbs and other srx's but it did not fix the problem.this is a serious hazard when driving at night and/or in inclement weather.i constantly have to drive with the high beams on.the car cannot be safely driven at night. Please investigate this problem and recommend a solution.this is a serious problem that affecting the safety drivers and others on the road.i think it is appalling that gm/cadillac cannot provide a fix for this.
Low beam headlights are unreasonably dim and it is unsafe to drive at night. Less than 5 feet of visibility. Car can't be driven at night due to the low output of light. Abstaining from driving at night for fear of having an accident and getting someone gets injured or something more serious. This needs immediate attention. Someone is welcome to come and visit and do a drive with us at night.
I noticed the dim lighting on low neam and took it to my mechanic. I had him replace the bulbs. They were very expensive bulbs and only helped minimally. I the went to cadiilac dealer and they will not replace the lighting harnesses. I have read online many cases and the dealer has many of the cases documented. In fact, the car in front of me at service had the same problem. Case #
My car is unsafe to drive unless i use high beams at all times.this is not a simple change the bulb fix.this is a very well known issue with 2010-2015 cadillac srx models that the headlights are so dim at night that the car can not be driven safely. Gm, instead of doing a national recall has instead settled on a class action lawsuit where the owner has to bring the car in and pay out of pocket roughly 1500 dollars for replacement parts and then they will reimburse the cost. I do not have the extra money to replace their defective headlights. Gm needs to step up and issue a recall as this is an extremely dangerous situation.
I have almost had several wrecks driving at night in this vehicle. The headlights are too dim to safely navigate the roadways. Driving with the high beams on is the only way you can see. Even after applying the suggested fixes from cadillac, you cannot safely drive this car at night. I have included the most recent date of a near wreck due to low visibility.
It doesn't work at all and cadillac will not recall it
Faulty headlights on our 2013 cadillac srx.headlights (on low beam setting) are dangerously dim and do not adequately illuminate the road ahead.
Weather seals appear to erode prematurely, which may allow moisture to enter the headlight casing and cause the bulb to flicker, dim or burn out entirely. The replacement headlights also use the same design which results in out of pocket expense even for faulty replacement lights.
The low beams have a very low output. I have replaced the bulbs with the highest output bulbs the auto parts store has which did not improver the low beam output. This makes it very dangerous driving at night. I have to use my bright lights to see at night. This is a constant problem and it does not mater what type of road or if the vehicle is moving.
My 2013 srx has dim light can hardly see at night unless i put on high beams.cadillac has paid some customers to have this fixed. They are just giving other effected customers the run a round. The in any beam lights are not adequate at any time.
No low beam headlight visibility. Cadillac said there is no fix.
My wife and i own a 2013 cadillac srx and when we use the low beam headlights they don't provide enough illumination to allow us to see the highway, forcing us to use the high beams but we have to switch back to low beams when we approach a vehicle or come within a couple car lengths behind. I have been on the internet reading about how this has been an ongoing problem with this model cadillac. This is my first cadillac and i will have to say will be my last. Supposedly all dealers are forcing the owners to absorb the repair cost themselves ($1500.00 to $1700.00) i have yet to take my vehicle back to the dealer and doubt seriously if my extended warranty with cost gard will do any good. I'm really surprised at the response that gm has taken on this very dangerous problem.we dread driving the car at night, we are constantly having to drive with our high beams on. Would you please investigate this problem
The low beam headlights are ridiculous! i am unable to drive my child to school in the early morning before the sun rises. This is a safety issue yjat cadillac is well aware of, yet they do nothing! i guess they will wait until someone gets killed and ate in court before theybrecall their crappy ' high end' vehicle. They should be ashamed!
The headlights suddenly dimmed while driving at night to a point where it was not safe to drive.i installed new bulbs twice, and it didn't help.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle at night, the low-beam headlights were extremely dim causing a visibility hazard to the driver. The headlight bulbs were replaced but the failure persisted. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.
I have a 2013 cadillac srx the low beams are so dim you can't see five feet in front of the car! there have been tons of other people with the same cadillac and same exact problem. They will not do a recall and this is a serious safety issue driving at night. There has to be somehow to get gm to fix this issue before someone gets seriously injured!
We bought a used 2013 cadillac srx from a florida dealership.we have been experiencing the headlights don't light well unless high beams are on.i brought it to a mechanic and they told me this car will not pass an inspection.i have read on line that this is an on going problem and their are current lawsuits.i am afraid to drive at night because of visibility issues.i was quoted on new headlights but my mechanic cannot guaranty it will cure the problem.i'm not sure what to do.
Driving with the lights on at night is like driving with no lights on, very dim and dangerious at night have to drive with lights on bright tosee, which is bad for oncoming traffic..went to dealer and they told us that the only option is to replace the whole light assembly at 1100$ but would not say that it won't happen again.
Drivers side headlight is extremely dim.i returned the vehicle to the dealer and they replace both low beam bulbs.both sides remained dim , but the drivers side barely shows up against the wall.the dealership refused to do any more investigation and said that the cadillac srx is notorious for dim headlights.my wife refuses to drive her own car at night for fear of running off the road
Can not see with low beams at night. Also, the screen freezes on the "cue" display
Headlights are hazy can not see anything while driving during the night. This could cause a bad accident. Popping noise on front driver side while car is running dealership says it was a loose axel nut. The dealership tried repairing it twice, still the same.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving after dusk, the headlamps illuminated the roadway inadequately. The contact stated that the headlamps were extremely dim. King o'rourke buick gmc (756 smithtown bypass #102, smithtown, ny 11787, (631) 240-0639) was contacted by phone and notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was also informed that california and florida residents were reimbursed for replacing the headlamps in full due to litigation; however, other states did not fare as well. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.
Head lights no longer provide adequate light to drive safely at night without using high beams. Http://www.carproblemzoo.com/cadillac/srx/2013/headlights-problems.phphttp://www.carproblemzoo.com/cadillac/srx/headlights-problems.phphttp://www.carproblemzoo.com/cadillac/srx/headlights-problems2.php
Headlights are very dim resulting in very poor visibility when driving at night and forcing the excessive use of high beams in order to see. *dtvin is not available
O our cadilac in the time we have owned it the headlights have been fixed at the cadilac dealer for which we paid $1400 to bill cramer cadilac in panama city floirda where we bought the car. Supposedly they fixed the issue with the headlights but withen a month of that repair the headlights again were so dim you can not see to drive at night without the high beams on. Not even a month after repair bill cramer was contacted and told about the issue happening again and we were told over the phone that we would again have to pay for the full amount of the repair to replace the entire headlight assembly and would have to take things up with gm. On several occasions i have tried to speak with bill cramer cadilac or gm about this issue and have been given the runaround. Now im finding everyone who purchased one of these vehicles is haveing the exact same issues with the headlights. Someone i work with recently bought a newer srx and it already has the exact same issue. When will something be done about this?????????
Just purchased a 2013 cadillac. It is a beautiful vehicle but almost crashed the first time i drove it at night. Cannot see with headlights on dim. Help please. Vehicle was in motion. I had to drive at an unsafe slow speed quite a distance to get where i could pull over.this is a dangerous safety hazard. I've got to be able to drive at night. Dangerous! when you dim your headlights they barley shine at all. Looks as if they aren't on. Stopping and having to brake is very dangerous.
My low beam headlights have become very very dim.have had to replace the bulbs twice. I have to drive with high beams in order to see safely at night.this is a known defect in these cars, but cadillac has not issued a recall.
Headlights are very dim for low beams! i must run w/ high beams at all times at night for any light. I was advised that the seals for the light assemblies let moisture in and both headlights need to be replaced for over $1200. This is a know issue and needs to be looked into for safety.
The headlights on my 2013 cadillac srx are so dim that i cannot drive it at night.this is an inherent defect with this vehicle(2010-15) that most owners are experiencing.apparently the headlight assemblies are defective causing moisture to enter the headlights.repairs are around $2,500 and cadillac refuses to remedy the situation or recall the cars. This is very dangerous. I cannot drive this car at night without using my brights.
The low beam headlights are dangerously dim. The roadway is not lighted for more than 30 feet. This problem has gradually gotten worse for both the driver and passenger sides.the headlight is dim whether the car is in motion or stationary. The high beam lights work just fine.the cadillac dealership claims the headlight assembly needs to be replaced because moisture has gotten into the assembly unit. That is a cost of $1700, that is not covered by an extended warranty. Cadillac has hundreds of documented complaints for this issue. It will take someone being killed before cadillac will do something about this.
Complaint involving dim headlights - poor lighting. My 2013 cadillac headlights are dim with very low visibility and dangerous to drive at night. We are unable to clearly see any objects in the path of vehicle when driving at night. We took the vehicle in for diagnosis and were told it no longer under warranty and will have to pay $2000 for repair.after researching further, other owners of this same vehicle have complained of the same issue and confessed that repair is only a temporary fix - there is a manufacturer defect of the seal around the light fixture which allows condensation inside the bulb.we called gm and they boldly told us no warranty, no repair.what about safety??!!!!there are apparently several class action lawsuit - this should be illegal and gm should be held accountability for faulty products that is life threatening.congress has to get involved!!!!
The headlights are defective on thousands of cadillac srx models, 2010-2015.the light bulbs are fine but the reflective chrome inside the light peels away and the lights do produce enough light to see at night.this is certainly a safety issue and hope you investigate.
Purchased car 1 year ago and cant drive it when its darkout due to poor headlight visability on low beam, highbeamis really good, low beam is like you dont have head lights on. Drove it at 5 am and almost wrecked twice not being able to see the road where i was driving. Second issue there was a recall for but it came up that i had no recalls at this time. Nhsta 14132 gm 14132. Does not do this all the time but frequently like this am when i was driving it, has done this also since i bought car a year ago.
When using low beam headlights at night they are extremely dim and unsafe.we often need to drive much slower than posted speed limit due to the inadequate headlights. I took the vehicle to a nearby cadillac service center and described the headlight problem.the service advisor quoted approximately $1400 to replace the headlights.
I have a 2013 srx with the external headlight issue of very dangerously dim lighting on low beam. I can barely see a few feet in front of me on low beam. I have taken it to the dealership and they tell me there is no fix. I have called cadillac customer service and they said there is no fix. This is definitely a safety hazard. It looks as if it will take the death of an individual or several before something is done.
My 2013 cadillac srx dim headlights have gotten noticeably dimmer. At first i thought having the dim headlights replaced would solve the problem, but i am hesitant because the dealership quoted us a price well over $1,000 and informed us that it probably would not solve the problem due to a moisture barrier defect in the headlights and the work would not be guaranteedafter that i've researched online and it appears that a lot of cadillac srx owners are reporting the same problem.we are having to use high beam headlights at night due to this safety issue with the cadillac srx flawed headlight design which is very unsafe for the oncoming traffic.this happens while the vehicle is in motion or stopped.this is every night on any road or highway we happen to be on and in any town or city we have traveled to.
In many websites, people are reporting that cadillacs srxis a safety hazard at night because they have a very poor headlight lighting. The lights are so dim; the driver can not see the road. I just spent $70.00 replacing the bulbs for brighter bulbs, and it did not make any difference. It seemed like the car is running on daylight running lights at night. This issue is a safety concern. Please review how many times people have reported this issue on this website; http://www.carproblemzoo.com/cadillac/srx/2010/
Low beams on headlights provide extremelypoor illumination producing barely 10-15' barely lit roadway. Dealer acknowledges problem by visual observation but says 'computer' says acceptable. Checked internet and found numerous complaints on 2013 and 2014 models. Extremely dangerous on dark roads with little or no street lighting. Help
The low beam headlights on our 2013 cadillac srx, which we purchased new in november, 2012, are practically unusable for night time driving.the light output is extremely low even after replacing the bulbs with sylvania zxe bulbs and then, after these were ineffective, led replacements.driving this vehicle in low light conditions is completely unsafe unless the high beams are used, which then causes issues to oncoming traffic.there are numerous similar occurrences readily findable through internet searches.it appears that gm should determine and provide a long term solution to this safety issue that has been a noticeable issue with our vehicle for the past two years.
The headlights onmy 2013 cadillac srx are too dim to drive vehichle at night .this is a know problem and should be fixed by gm. I have replaced bulbs but did not help.
Low beam headlights continue to get dimmer with time rendering the vehicle not driveable in the dark. Problem started a couple of years ago and when i investigated the issue, it appears that over 300,000 vehicles are affected.gm has ackowledged the problem and settled with owners in california and florida but refuse to repair any other vehicle outside those states. The headlight selas are defective allowing moisture to enter the headlight assembly corrding contacts affecting the bulbs.estimated cost to repair ranges between $1600 and $3000, replacing the headlight assemblies with the very same design. Gm will not cover the cost. My wife will no longer drive the vehicle in the dark as she doesn't feel safe any longer because of the difficulty seeing the road.
While driving our car at night we encounter poor visibility to almost no visibility. Bright beams work but we can't drive legally with bright beams on. This has occurred always at night, on the highway, on city streets and traveling through the mountains. On a dark night, the light cast is so poor that the lane lines are not visible. I have had several near hits due to this problem and i wonder if other vehicles aren't seeing our car. This headlight system is dangerous and could be deadly. The most recent episode was while driving through the mountains from tennessee to ohio.
Low beam lighting is almost non-existent.....they know it is an issue and have offered to repair-- reimbursement only--with 3-4 months to reimburse an average repair of $1500.......
We purchased a used 2013 cadillac srx on april 8, 2019.we picked the vehicle up from the dealer at approximately 6pm and proceeded to drive it home.upon turning on the headlamps, we were unsure if they were actually on.the road in front of us was still dark compared to the other vehicles around us.i got out of the vehicle and assessed that the headlamps were on, just not very bright.we drove the vehicle home and researched to try and find a solution.it became obvious from comments by other cadillac srx owners, that this is indeed a problem.we are now forced to drive with our high beams on at night and are constantly having to dim them for oncoming traffic.it seems like replacing the headlamps with the factory replacement is not the answer as those headlamps would be the same as we now have in our vehicle.this problem needs to be resolved by cadillac.love the car, but am afraid to drive at night.we do not want to cause an accident or become a statistic.
Dim headlights are not bright enough to see the road! must use brights at all time
Headlights too dim to drive at night unless high-beams are used. Took to dealer and they wanted $1800 to change both headlight assemblies. Apparently the bulb reflectors had discolored and reduced the light output.
I bought this car used in august, 2017.i am unable to drive the vehicle at night due to the low beams being dim.does gm plan to replace these bulbs?i cannot drive it for fear of accident, hitting a deer or someone not seeing my vehicle.
Low beam headlights to dim.unable to see at night.this is a vehicle safety issue.almost ran a pedestrian over due to not being able to see him crossing the road.
We recently purchased this car.we love it, the only problem is the low beam headlamps. We live in a very rural area, so there are no street lights of any kind in our area. The dealership where we purchased the car from were very nice and replaced the bulbs in the car and it did not make one bit of difference.the low beams are so bad that you can not see at night, at all.my husband almost hit a tree the other night because he could not see it.there is already a lawsuit with gm over the headlamp issues in california and florida for the 2011-2015 srx.while gm is concerned with their customers or so they say, they are not offering any assistance with fixing this issue because there is no active recall.to me that says, "we are not going to spend all that money on recalls, we would rather payout on wrongful death suits".which is clear by the class action suit in california and florida.my question is "how many people have to die before a recall is issued over the low beam headlamps"?
The dim headlights are so dim you canā€™t use them. Looks like water in the headlamp. Have seen that this is an ongoing issue with gm and canā€™t find recall. They say pay for it now (which is more than i can afford) and they will reimburse in couple months. Car was this way when purchased but did not know and canā€™t get money back.
The contact owns a 2013 caddiliac srx. The contact stated that the exterior headlamps had not emitted enough light while driving. The contact stated that it was difficult to view the roads during night time due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the headlights were replaced however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The vin was not provided.
The headlamps are defective and do not provide adequate lighting at night. I replaced the bulbs on 1/3/2020. The issue is not the bulbs it's the lamps. I would like to have the lamps replaced by cadillac.
The low beam lights on the cadillac srx 2013 barely shows up as lit. When driving at night there doesn't appear to be any lights on at all. Makes for a dangerous situation.
During the holidays i started noticing that my head lights were really dim. They are so dim there's actually no light shining directly on the road in front of the vehicle. Most sc roads do not have street lights so i've had to use my bright lights and i actually received a verbal warning from highway patrol for having my brights on. So i took my vehicle to jones chevrolet/cadillac before new years expecting the problem to be a simple bulb change. Mr. John jones told me that he's been seeing more and more of the same vehicle/same problem and that it's the entire assembly that needs to be replaced. He said something about a malfunction with the low beam shutters? he was expecting to find it on recall and said that perhaps gm hasn't gotten to my vin yet and to keep checking or that i could pay the $1500 to repair and get reimbursed once it is recalled. I'm hoping this matter will be investigated as it is a safety issue. I can't drive safely at night and it's my only transportation.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving various speeds, the headlights were dim and failed to produce adequate lighting. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to orr chevrolet of fort smith (6500 autopark dr, fort smith, ar 72903, (479) 310-0948) where it was diagnosed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 9-5389871230. The failure mileage was 85,400.
My low beam headlights are completely dim, orange glow,i have voiced my concern to the dealership which they have said by replacing the bulb wouldn't take care of the problem. I also contacted cadillac and still have not heard back from them.this isdefinetly a safety issue and i can not drive the car at night. I have also seen that this year and model car have had the same issues with headlights. I also have seen lawsuits pertaining to this issue in other states.i feel both cadillac and the dealership are avoiding taking care of the problem.
Lighting assembly is completely out on vehicle. I can only drive with bright lights on. I have went off the road several times, due to lighting.i have had several checks from cadillac and was told i need to replace the entire lighting assembly, but is a waste because it will go out again in a couple of months.
2013 cadillac srx low beams are very dim due to moisture in the projector bowls.i replaced the factory halogen bulbs with aftermarket hid bulbs but the problem still exists.i am forced to use high beams during rain and in low light conditions since you cannot see the road and driving is very dangerous.cadillac dealer said that both headlight assemblies need to be replaced at a cost of $1500.
Ran off the road due to poor visibility with low beam head lights.could not see the curve in the country road...no lines were on the road.it was raining and the low beam lights failed to illuminate the road.tried running with high beams but kept getting flashed by oncoming drivers headlights.was going slow due to poor visibility so no damage....just very unsafe.
Headlights are so dim i refuse to drive at night.it is dangerous.i realize there are lots of complaints already and even a few class action lawsuits against gm.i just wanted to add one more
The low beam headlights are a safety hazard and dangerous for driver and any and all passengers driving around this vehicle. The light do not illuminate well or dim and this problem is going to cause accident, injuries or deaths. Driving vehicle at night you cannot see, it is like driving in the dark.
This car is absolutely unsafe to operate at night. The headlights are way too dim. I have replaced the bulbs multiple times but that is not the issue.
The low lights are so low that you can not see at night. The brights are fine. I replaced the filaments and put in stronger blubs, but the low lights are still not adequate for night driving.this started in june 2016.
Moisture in the headlights.
Low beam headlights are so dim it is not safe to drive at night unless high beams are used which is also not safe.
Headlights are a safety hazard due to how dim they are. Can't see road and other vehicles cant see me
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srs. The contact stated that the headlights of the vehicle were very dim and made it difficult to see the road while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to twin city buick gmc dealer, (3046 alcoa hwy, alcoa, tn 37701, (865) 238-0392) and was diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
Low beam headlights are a safety issue.cadillac is quoting $2,400 to replace.vehicle has 63,000 miles.this issue is systemic with the model.no immediate fix even if they replace parts.consumer is out the expense and problem remains a safety issue.gm needs to recall and fix.high beams are the only safe way to operate the vehicle at night.
Headlights extremely dim cannot drive at night
This car has lighting that is completely faulty.if the car is driven when the headlights are producing low light or no light, they can create a safety hazard and pose a danger to the driver, other drivers, and pedestrians.to hopefully remedy the issue, in feb,2019 we purchased sealight h11/h9 low beam 9005/hb3 high beam led headlight bulbs at the recommendation of the morries cadillac servc tm.they were aware of this issue and said the new lights would correct the problem.after purchasing them we brought them to have them installed.they worked for a couple of months and once again are not working.this did not correct the issue.upon further investigation,we discovered that there is a cadillac srx headlight class action lawsuit alleging the lights have seals that allow moisture to ruin the headlights, causing them to become dim and finally fail.according to the plaintiff, 2010-2015 srx suvs have the headlight problems that are caused not only by the seals but by air vents that interfere with the proper flow of air.customers complain about headlights that suffer from condensation problems from the allegedly defective seals that create moisture that leaves drivers blind at night. General motors allegedly knows about the srx headlight problems that can cause electrical short circuits.according to the class action lawsuit, gm has sent technical service bulletins to cadillac dealers informing technicians what to do if customers complained about the headlights.the automaker also created a customer service program for srx drivers, but the plaintiff claims repairs by dealers are useless because defective parts are replaced by the same defective parts.this is a problem that is extremely unsafe and is costing consumers money to try to remedy, to no avail. Does somebody have to die for this problem to be addressed for all srx owners!!gm should be held responsible for all owners!
Low beams are unusable. Have been dim since i bought the car used, but especially apparent & dangerous three nights ago coming home late at night, raining, no moon. I could hardly see and had to keep high beams on which got a lot of light flashes from oncoming traffic. Had to switch to low beams more than safety warranted. Driving was very dangerous and if not for the reflectors in the middle of the highway i would have had to stop driving.
Low beam head lights are very dim. I have pulled over to look at the head lights to see if they were even working. I cannot drive it at night as i cannot see.if i must drive it, i have to use the high beams and oncoming traffic continually flash their brights at me. This vehicle is super dangerous while driving at night. No help from cadillac dealership.i first noticed this about a year ago.
Lights on dim are so dim you can barely see. Problem with seals in light assembly. Having to replace but understand that it is a common problem and a flaw in the srx.
Low beam headlights are so dim it is unsafe to drive at night. In order to see high beams are required which is also unsafe for other drivers approaching. There must be a solution to this from cadillac. This has been an ongoing issue. I cannot drive this vehicle at night safely.
Headlights too dim unable to see at night!almost hit a car pulling out from a parking spot because lights were too dim.
While driving at night we have noticed the head lights looked dim. Over some time they have become very dim. I talked with the cadillac dealer on april 19,2019 and was advised this is a problem with the srx models because of moisture getting into the area causing the lamp to fail.i was advised that to replace the headlight is very expensive however not a guarantee since the moisture intrusion issue has not been resolved. I purchased the vehicle in march 2014 (used) from the dealer with the extended warranty. Since i have owned the vehicle, i have always had it serviced at the dealer. As part of the service most of the times agm multi point vehicle inspection (gm mpvi)was done on the vehicle with the latest one done on january 14,2019. Looking back at the inspection reports never has there been any indication of the an issue with the lighting.also i have never seen or been advised of a problem with the head lights by the dealer or gm. The dealer told me that there is a law suit in california relative to this issue however a class action suit was dismissed.to me this is a vehicle safety issue which is the responsibility ofgm and should have been a recall.how best should this issue be addressed?
Both headlights are so dim on low beam, it has became impossible to drive this car at night without having them on high beam. I have had problems with condensation developing on the inside of the head lights since the car was purchased. I've tried brighter bulbs with no success.
Head lamps when driving at night seem very dim. Almost to the point that i wonder if my headlights are even on. Have had several other people who have driven my car at night and also came back to me and asked if i was having problems with my headlights due to them not being able to see at night.
The seal around headlights has deteriorated and water is visible inside the headlights and the lights are so dim vehicle can't be driven at night.
Purchased vehicle from local dealer.after purchasing i noticed headlights were very dim. I had them replace the light bulbs. Within 3 months i'm back to not being able to see at all.took to the dealer and was told this was a known problem and that's the way they wereand to call cadillaccustomer service. No results. They want even acknowledge there was a defect.after finding the lawsuit in california and florida. Still no help. At this time i cannot drive the car after dark and cadillac and the dealer refuse to help. There is no fix and this is a defect with cadillac.someone is going to get killed and there to blame.
Front headlights are extremely dim making it dangerous to drive at night.
The normal headlights (not the high beams) are so, so, so dim even with brand new bulbs, the car is incredibly dangerous to drive at night. Almost caused 2 accidents. This is a known problem of the headlight assembly housing which deteriorates on the inside (presumably caused by the moisture getting in and ruining the inside of the housing so that very little light from the bulbs can make it out). Do a google search. There are hundreds of customers experiencing this same exact issue. Spoke to cadillac and they said they are only fixing it for people in ca and fl (they were sued for this issue in both those states) but refuse to help anyone from any other state. Someone is going to die in an accident. This is extremely, extremely dangerous situation.there are also youtube videos showing it and pages and pages of forum posts about it from people who almost died because of it. I hope nhtsa and/or gm does the right thing before lives are lost.
The low beam headlights are extremely dim.while driving at night i have to use the high beams, although cautiously, so as not to blind oncoming drivers.if there is a car behind me, i cannot see the road in front of my car at all; in fact, i see the shadow of my car in front of me.this is extremely unsafe and has not been recalled by cadillac.to replace the headlights is about $1500 and is not guaranteed to improve the dim light situation.i have to drive at night and it's frightening.why is nothing being done about this?there are thousands of complaints logged on the internet.is the government going to intervene on our behalf?what recourse do we have?at this point, i don't believe it should be up to individual owners to pursue restitution.please step in and do something!i bought this car from a cadillac dealer in april of 2017.
Driving at night is a nightmare, especially in the rain.every night i have found myself struggling to see the road. I have to count on the rear lights of the vehicle ahead of me. Rural roads are the worse. I have a cadillac because of the safety and well crafted engineering, but this safety issue is going to kill someone. Why isn't there a recall???
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights on the vehicle were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to dorman cadillac gmc (1000 interstate dr, dunn, nc) where it was diagnosed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Purchased used 2013 cadillac srx in 2016.noticed that night driving was very difficult using low beam headlights.high beams are great.tried headlight adjustments, cleaning, etc. Nothing helped.took vehicle to dealer who informed me that headlight assemblies need to be replaced due to known internal lens defect which switches when lights are switched from low to high beams.dealer wanted $1,350 for repairs. Took car for 2nd opinion.confirmed issue.shop was able to install high intensity bulbs to somewhat compensate for the lumens projected through the lens.this is a serious safety issue!i was struggling to see while driving at night.i live in the country and have limited access to lighted streets.i also noticed a severe inability to see when driving on well lighted highways at night because my headlight beams projected no further than 35 feet in front of my car.how many people have to have accidents and potentially die to ensure a recall?
The headlights on my vehicle at night are terrible...it is almost like there not on, very dim..i am afraid to drive at night with this vehicle....i have to use high beams, but have to lower when a car approches..
The low headlight beams are so dim you can not see to drive at night.it has become very frightening to drive at night. Vehicle was brought to dealer who stated he has seenthis issue but nothing he can do . Cadillac was contacted as well. They stated there was nothing they could do either.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving unknown speeds, the low beam headlights failed to produce adequate lighting. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called a local dealer (ron carter autoland, 3205 fm 528 rd, alvin, tx 77511, (281) 331-3111) and was referred to an unknown cadillac dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 58,000.
Headlights when in standard on, not brights, not daytime running lights, are very dim. Only have about 5 feet of visibility. We have had the dealer twice do a full evaluation, and according to gm/cadillac everything checks, voltages, etc. If everything checks, they why are the lights too dim? the dealer will do nothing since there is nothing in their (gm/cadillac) system for problems. We use thomson macconnell cadillac in cincinnati, oh. They are following their directions and will not do any more in assisting to correct the problemi have searched the internet, and there are no recalls, no anything for correction. There are however, several lawsuits being brought against gm for this problem, and there are others that refuse to drive their srx at night due to the low output of light. We are probably going to park it at night and drive our other car.this has been this way for the two years we have owned this vehicle.if we can't use it when ever we would like to use, then the problem needs fixed before there are accidents and maybe someone gets injured or something more serious. We should not have to wait till that happens. This needs immediate attention. Someone is welcome to come and visit and do a drive with us at night.
Headlights continue to get so much condensation that the bulb and the controller malfunction and the lights will not come on until the units dry out either over time or are manually removed to dry out indoors. The dealer states condensation is normal and the lawsuit that offered redress was only for vehicles sold in two states and my state is not included.the fix is to replace with the same defective designed light assembly.the front passenger seatbelt gets stuck and must be unbuckled in order to adjust.currently the drivers seatbelt functions as designed with no issue.
The headlight casing allow water and condensation to cause the headlights to be extremely dim and makes visibility impossible for night time driving and is a hazard to everyone on the road.
Known problem with headlamps/ headlight assemblies. They are so dim it's like they aren't even on. Brights work fine but the low beams are absolutely awful. We've even changed out the bulbs and it made zero difference. They have gotten progressively worse as time goes on
Ever since we owned this vehicle the headlights have always been dim. I had replaced the bulbs and it did not help. Dealer said it would be over 1500 to fix and it was not covered. I cant afford that so i told my wife we just will not try to drive it at night. On the 3rd of july my wife had to take the car to the store because i was not home. I told her please be careful. When coming into our neighborhood she miscalculated a right turn and ran off the road into the drainage ditch. She was shaken up but not hurt. She was able to get out of the ditch but messed the car up pretty bad. She said she simply could not see the turn because of the headlights being to dim. I have complained to my dealership before about this issue and said it is not covered so the cost would be 1500 plus. This to me is a safety hazard the only way we can see is if we have the brights on. There needs to be a safety recall on this mode of vehicle it is very dangerous to drive at night.
Since purchasing the car used with 36k miles on it the headlights have become progressively dimmer, to the point where the car is no longer safe to drive at night. Upon further research this is a common problem with these cars and is a flaw in the design. Cadillac wants 1200 to fix them, and refuses to acknowledge that this isa major safety issue on their vehicles.
By february2017 we noticed the headlights were dim and malfunction, leaving us in fear they will fail while driving at night, which caused the suv to stay parked at night unless absolutely needed. One night , coming back from airport we pulled off the road and saw the low-beam headlights had completely failed, we hadto drive home with the lamps in "bright" mode.the outside inspection indicated -exterior headlight housing units wear out and deteriorated, causes headlight problems that include failure of the bulbs due to corrosion of the components such as the igniters, in addition to electrical shorts that occur dim light. It is very dangerous to drive at night without having my bright lights on.
Defective headlight seal that allows moisture to corrode electrical components. The moisture causes condensation that leaves the headlights practically useless.i have a 3 yr old and a newborn and this car is no longer safe to drive them in at night. Very dangerous.
The low beam head lights or very dim can not see at night driving , it really bad i live insouth carolina we don't have many street light on our roads.i wish someone would drive these cars that on the bad light list.
We notice our highlights was very dim for months i called the cadillac dealership in fort walton beach florida and spoke to someone in their service department, that service person claimed he knew nothing about a recall on the headlights then when i told him there is a class actions lawsuit on the headlights problem he put me on hold then when he got back on the line he knew about the problem and told me to bring in my cadillac and they would work out something march 7, 2019 we took our cadillac to cadillac dealership in fort walton beachwe spoke with nick in their service department he told us there was a block on the warranty for the headlights issued that monday, march 4, 2019.and they didn't know why.our cadillac is still under the bumper to bumper warranty until april 2019 next month! but nick said there isn't anything they can do and he will try and find out why there was a block placed on the headlights. Monday, march 4, 2019. We was given the report called 'workbench'we spoke with nick march 8, 2019 david a manager at cadillac fort walton beach called us and said he received a letter from gm that they would pay up to sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600) but we would have to pay for the repairs out of our pocket thenwould be reimbursed but because there is a block on it they can't do that either and his regional manager and a district manager are looking into why there is a block on the headlights repairs.on monday, march 11, 2019 david said he would email us a copy of the letter which has the information about the pay upfront sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600) for our records because we never received that letter or any information about the faulty headlights.at this time we have not been given any indication the problem will be fixed!
Headlights are so dim, you can not see at night at all. Its very dangerous to drive at night in this car. There has to be a resolution to this.
Low beam headlights on my 2013 cadillac srx are so dim that the vehicle cannot be operated safely at night.i have been informed that both headlamp assembly's need to be replaced at a cost of 1,250, as they are defective and simply replacing the bulbs will not remedy the low light output. Gm is aware of the issue with the defective headlight components and has settled lawsuits in florida and california.this is a safety issue not only in florida and california but in all 50 states that should be remedied with a recall and replacement of defective components where appropriate. Failure occurred prior to 70,000 miles.
The headlights on this vehicle are so dim at night its dangerous.when on a dark road sometimes i wonder if the headlights are even on.my husband drives on a dark road full of wildlife and the way the head lights are he will never see one if it runs in front of him at night.this needs to be recalled and fixed now! and not at the owners expense, its a cadillac for goodness sakes!
Front headlights so dim cannot see at night without use of high beams. Took to dealer told light housing had oxidized from the inside and would need replaced. Dealership stated changing bulbs will not help nor could lenses be cleaned that it was a manufacturer flaw. $1055 to fix with no guarantee they wont need replaced again in 5 years or less.
2013 cadillac srx headlights are too dim.
For the past few years my wife's cadillac srx headlights have been getting worse and worse.we have had all bulbs replaced by bill cramer chevrolet in panama city florida.the new bulbs were better for a little while but now when using the dim headlights, you cannot even tell they are on.the bright headlights have to be used at all times while driving at night, or you cannot see anything at all.this is a lawsuit and accident waiting to happen.i can definitely see moisture getting into the light housing and i think it is causing all the problems.
Head light are very dim. I changed the light bulb to see if that would help but i can't see at night due to the dimness of the head lights
Dims are so dim you can't see.need to drive on high beams at all times!
My headlight has constant condensation causing the bulb to burn out. Such poor visibility i was forced to lower headlights and drive with brights on just to see the lines on the road. I do everything i can to avoid driving at night. My son will visit me every other week and put a hair dryer on it to remove the moisture.
Headlights failed during night drive on city street. I was alerted by a passing neighbor.i checked the lights at home and found that they were operating but with so little light that took the vehicle to the gm dealerto have them inspected. Dealer confirmed that they were defective and required replacement.
I have a problem with the head lights are not bight enough. I can barely see the road. We had it check at the dealership and they said yes the head lights are defective just like the ones on recall but our vin number is not listed. I have spoke to gm but they say i need to go through the dealership but the dealership says they can't do anything. I told the dealership and gm that i can not see well enough at night to be driving. It is not my eyes because my sister who has a 2013 buick enclave drove our car and did not think the head lights were even on. She could not believe it. They want me to pay $1500.00 to get them fixed. I also told them that i was letting my insurance know so if i have an accident, i want them to go after gm and the dealership. This is a very dangerous problem. There are times i have to drive after dark. I have not had an accident yet. I am trying to get something done to the lights so that won't happen. My life and my husband's life is important to us, it may not be so with gm or the dealership.
Headlights exterior housing units wear out or deteriorate allowing moisture to accumulate and condense from the air that flows through their vents.i cant see at night and its a safety issuefor me and my family.
Low beam headlights are extremely dim.i replaced with led bulbs and nothing changed.
The head lights are very dim.this is an ongoing daily issue. The issue cannot be remedied by changing the bulbs alone. There is very now visibility at night unless the high beams are used which distracts oncoming traffic. This issue is experienced in all driving settings, city, highway, country roads. It is most pronounced when driving in dimly lit country roads.
Headlights are dangerously dim. At night if i don't turn on the high beams i can't see the road. Driving with high beams also endangering the traffic coming towards me.
Headlights are very dim, it is very hard to see the road at night. While turning the steering wheel the car makes noise. While putting car in park shifter does not go all the way in to p mode , can't turn off the engine a lot of times.
The low beam headlights are extremely dim and make night driving difficult if not impossible due to safety. This appears to be a known defect in this model vehicle but cadillac will not acknowledge. The halogen bulbs have been replaced three times but it does not help remedy the problem.the mechanic stated that the issue is with the design of the reflector in the lighting assembly and that the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced to rectify the problem.this is a very expensive solution for the consumer and one which is because of an apparent design flaw according to the cadillac mechanic.
My lights on low beam are so dim i can't drive at night. I can't see they are so dim they are cloudy.cadalliac dealer says it's a defect in light from moisture and i have to replace the whole assembly and with the same defective light. It will happen again.gm should recall these and fix the problems. They know there's a problem but refuse.the power transmission has a hesitate in it sometimes in first gear taking off.
The passenger headlamp in my 2013 cadillac srx is completely out due to condensed moisture build up causing its components to defect. Now my car becomes very unsafe to drive at night and according to prior recents complaints and lawsuits, it seems like that's an issue gm is currently aware of but failed to address and it's costing consumers thousands of dollars. I took my car to the mechanic to have the headlight replaced, but was told the issue isn't with the actual bulb but rather its component. He also sent me a link of other alleged owners facing the same issues and still gm is denying the issue. I called up gm and was told they're nothing they could do about it. Now i'm stuck with the car and so afraid to drive it at night cause it's very dangerous putting my life and others at risk. Please help!!!!!
Cadillac will not stand behind the faulty headlight assembly that has allowed dust into the lens area making it impossible to drive with low beams at night. Both headlight assembly need to be replaced if i am ever going to be able to drive at night. Quoted a price of over $1,000 for parts and labor.i have already upgraded low beam lights and had lenses professionally polished. A search on google shows many complaints about this problem and even class action lawsuits filed but still no help from cadillac.low beams have been getting progressively worse over time. I can actually see dust/dirt on the inside of the lens but since it is a sealed unit no way to clean it.
Quite some time ago i noticed that while driving at night it was difficult to see.the headlights didn't seem to be projecting good light.i had family look at the headlights, but they couldn't figure it out.i shined them on the closed garage door, but i couldn't figure it out.finally i called my mechanic, after him my cadillac dealer only to find out that the head lights had deteriorated and that the repair or replacement would cost quite a hefty price.in researching i see that i am not alone in this problem.in fact i have found that at least two class action suits have been filed, one in ca and the other in fl.why hasn't there been a recall?this is going to prove dangerous for those driving at night.as it is, i will begin using my high beams at all times.do we need to wait for someone to beinjured or worst, killed, before the government requires a recall?
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that for approximately one year, the low beam headlights were very dim. The poor illumination nearly caused a few crashes. The vehicle was taken to renick cadillac (1100 s euclid st, fullerton, ca 92832) where they recommended changing the entire head lamp assemblies. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. The vin was not available.
My cadillac srx model year 2013 is equipped with faulty headlights thatare so dim i can not see the lines on the side of the road.on back roads you can't see nothings to separate the road from the land. I am afraid to drive atnight.i have just missed several accidents.i have a great extended warranty thru 2022,but they will not cover because of gm stance. Warranty solutions gm has failed to properly address this issue with notification to current and prospective cadillac owners. The company has also allegedly failed to offer a fix for the defect under its own bumper-to-bumper warranty.a recall would be too expensive.common to other gm models.there are currently 2 class action law suits florida and california.help![xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I have a 2013 cadillac srx the low beams are so dim you cannot see five feet in front of the car! there have been tons of other people with the same cadillac and same exact problem. They will not do a recall and this is a serious safety issue driving at night. There has to be somehow to get gm to fix this issue before someone gets seriously injured! i am having to try and replace these poorly designed lights that do not provide enough safe road visibility with after market headlamps.i do not believe i should be required to pay for these replacement lights but i do not want any of my family members to die in a crash caused by these oem lights.gm should setup a nationwide recall on all of these vehicles fitted with these lights
Low beam headlights are unreasonably dim. This has been well documented with general motors and on many internet sites. General motors is telling me that they are reviewing a recall. In the meantime i am driving and incredibly unsafe vehicle. It is in the shop currently for other reasons, and i'm driving a 2015 loner and the difference in the low beam brightness is more than significant. This is a very strong safety issue. And general motors can't seriously expect someone to pay 1500 to $2,000 in repairs for something that should never go out. It's their fault and they know it.
Passenger headlight has water inside, headlight dimmed, can't see on one side of car, driving can't see at night
Notice low beam head lights were horrible at night. Check everything and noted there was a problem with reflector. Today took the srx to cadillac dealer as purchased extended warrenty. Dealer noted there was a problem but warrenty would not cover replacing the assembly as needed. Was advised the cost to replace the pair would be 1700.00 needless to say i did not have the work done. It is an extreme night time driving hazard and a very costly repair. Something needs to be done about it.
Drivers side headlight is to dim causing low visibility at night. Unsafe to drive.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlamps on the vehicle failed to illuminate as designed. The failure occurred without warning. The contact received notification to have the headlamps inspected by an authorized dealer. The vehicle was taken to harvey's gm chevrolet cadillac buick located at (1500 tyler ave, radford, va 24141) where the contact was informed that the manufacturer would only cover a partial cost for the headlight repair. The manufacturer was notified and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Recently purchased a used 2013 cadillac srx for my wife. Headlights are so dim that we pulled off the road and checked to make sure they were on. Per local cadillac dealer, repair will be over $1500 with no guarantee of improved visibility.i will not allow her to drive the car at night due to poor visibility.i have since read this is a known problem by cadillac.
The headlights are dangerously dim at night.it's very hard to see the lines on the road and even worse when it's raining. I had to use high beams to make it home in the rain.
My headlights are so dim at night it's dangerous to drive. I have to put my high beams on to see.
Both of my headlights are faulty / are wearing prematurely.my headlights have an extremely lack of adequate illumination making it extremely difficult to see the road at night.the headlight defect is a poor seal that allows moisture to enter the headlight. The moisture is causing corrosion and short-circuiting causing both of my headlights to significantly reduce the headlight's output.my husband has contacted the cadillac dealership on lime street in metairie, la to report the problem and they said they know of the problem.they said they cannot do anything about it but replace them for about a $1,300 fee.they are aware that the headlights are an issue but have not put a recall on the issue.they told we had to take the complaint up with the extended warranty company then they doubt the warranty i purchase with cadillac for $5,000 will not cover it.cadillac did not tell me before or after i purchased this $37,000 vehicle that they know about their low grade faulty headlights and that they plan to do nothing about the issue when it happens.
Headlights too dim.dealer says filament is gone/melted and lights need to be replaced for $1527.53.there is a class action law suit regarding this issue.
The headlights on the 2013 cadillac are seriously dim. It is an extreme hazard to drive this vehicle at night without using the high beam head lights.with low beams headlights, i am at risk of accident or injury. With high beam headlights, i will put other drivers at risk of accident or injury.how has this issue not been handled by nhtsa by now? if nhtsa is truly "people helping people", getting this issue addressed by cadillac should be easy.bulbs have been replaced and made little or no difference. Headlight replacement is well over a $1,000.00 at dealer.new headlights will also start to deteriorate as soon as they are used due to a design flaw in the lights.we bought this car used in 2016 and started to notice how dim the headlights were becoming. Everywhere we turn, there has been no remedy offered.
Headlights do not emit enough light while driving at night.it is very difficult to view the roads during night time driving. It is very dangerous to drive at night. Warranty wont cover to fix issue.there are a lot of complaints about this issue and they have not recalled the car to fix.
A dim headlight issue exists with the srx.a cadillac service technician told me part of the problem is with the lens and an oval part of the lens gets clouded and doesn't project light correctly. The lights are so dim i have to use my high beams when possible to see.using the high beams can impair the vision of oncoming traffic, so i have to use them cautiously.this headlight problem is definitely a safety hazard.this has been a known issue since 2011 and gm has not informed the owners.i have contacted the cadillac customer assistance center to file a complaint and to request help in getting this issue rectified.however, i was told there was nothing they could do.the dealership wants an exorbitant amount of $1600 to fix this known problem.this is very unfair to the consumers.gm should be concerned that this defect increases the chance of an accident which can result in injury or death.due to the seriousness of these faulty headlights, i am requesting intervention and assistance for me and other owners of the srx to get our vehicles repaired either free of charge or at a reasonable price.thank you so much and i look forward to hearing from your agency soon.
Low beam headlamps become so dim that you cannot drive at night. The headlamps put a light beam about 5 ft in front of the vehicle. You can see better using two flashlights onthe hood. Cadillac knows of this defect and even settled a lawsuit to replace them but they do not cover the entire cost and replaces them with indentical units. This vehicle is a extreme high risk when driving at night to the public. This car could not pass state or federal highway laws for working headlamps. If a recall was ever needed this is it. Cadillac will not fairly deal with this issue with its customers. A recall is needed before someone dies.
I own a 2013 cadillac srx. My husband and i were driving home on sunday, october 14, 2018 from an out-of-state trip. We were terrified as we traveled on unfamiliar roads and it became dark. We discovered the headlights were so dim that we had to drive slow and/or keep turning the "bright" lights on to see the road. I actually thought the headlights had "burned" out - then i discovered while on-line looking for replacement parts and cost estimates -this is a national problem with this make and model. I feel as though "fraud" was part of the "sale" of this vehicle! we have worked very hard for 40 plus years to finally purchase a "nice" vehicle only to find that gm fraudulently sold the cars - knowing there was an existing problem with the design of the headlights. I would hope that my complaint, along with the complaints of hundreds of others, will prompt the government to open an investigation concerning this fraudulent act. What i thought was a "reward" for years of hard work and sacrifice-seems now to be the way average americans are treated by large corporations like gm. My greatest fear is no one will take the responsibility for this "fraud" - and we will once again have to pay for their mistakes. Please do something - please.
I bought a used cadillac.within a few weeks i noticed that i could not see at night.i thought it was my eyesight.i later bought a hd light bulb for $200 and had it installed for another $250(you need to remove the bumper to replace the bulbs on this car).yet there is no difference, it has gotten worse and dangerous.i just came back from the dealer and he wanted to change the whole light assembly or go get after market assembly.on a hunch i researched online and saw that this was a rampant problem with srx's all over the country
The headlights on this vehicle are dangerously dim.i have spoken to numerous owners who suggested the same issue.the dealerships want to charge over $2000.00 to correct this and it is not clear that replacing these lights with the same lights will repair the issue.this needs government action or people will get hurt.
The headlights have failed and do not illuminate the road at night making it very unsafe to drive at night.the headlight do do not illuminate the road when the car is moving or stationary and all the bulbs work properly.

Approx 5 second lag in acceleration when departing parking space. Two occasions.
The first incident was on 08/22/2013 i was at a stoplight about to turn right- i depressed the gas pedal and went forward slightly, but then the vehicle stopped and there was absolutely no acceleration.i had to jam the gas pedal to the floor and even then the vehicle only got up to 20 mph in approximately 100 yards.it took the vehicle approx. 3-5 seconds to respond at all.the vehicle had approx. 1150 miles on it.there were no warning lights that came on in the vehicle.the engine did not rev up or do anything.i was almost rear ended on this occasion.08/24/2013 i was at a stop light and attempted to go forward and there was a lack of acceleration--i had to jam the gas pedal hard for it to move.it took approx. 3-5 seconds to respond.09/25/2013 i was at a stop light and attempted to go forward and there was a lack of acceleration--i had to jam the gas pedal hard for it to move.it took approx. 3-5 seconds to respond.10/17/2013sitting at a stoplight and attempted to accelerate went forward a few feet and stopped i had to jam the gas pedal to the floor for it to move.it took 3-5 seconds to respond. Approx 2150 miles on car11/08/2013 i was almost hit in the driver side door.i was crossing an intersection and the car went forward a few feet and stopped in the road.it took 3-5 seconds for the vehicle to respond.approx 3400 miles on car12/7/2013 my boyfriend was driving--we were at a stop sign turning out of my neighborhood and there was no power as he depressed the gas pedal 3/4 of the way.it kicked in finally after 3-5 seconds. Approx 4000 miles on the vehiclethere have been other instances as well but this is a summary of some of the times this has occurred.
When entering the street from my driveway, the transmission failed to engage for four to five seconds.this has happened several times.when i took the vehicle in to galles & davis in albuquerque, they said the problem was due to an electronic acceleration system and that nothing culd be done.
I had a loss of acceleration occur on thanksgiving day. I was driving down a residential road at about 25mph when i came to the stop sign at the end of the road where i was turning right.i coasted up to the stop sign and looked to the left and it was clear and then proceeded to turn right. I pressed on the gas and it very slowly moved me into the lane and then stopped, it would not move at all. I depressed the gas all the way down and nothing happened. I didn't hear the engine rev as if it was in neutral or anything, it was just like it was dead. I didn't see any indicator lights on the dash but i was more concerned with the fact that i had a car behind me that i was concerned was going to rear end me as he was expecting me to continue moving as i turned into the road. Fortunately there wasn't a car coming from the left as i could have been hit since i as sitting there diabled in the road.after about 4 seconds the car finally responded and took off. I had the gas pedal all the way down so when it finally engaged my tires squealed and i took off. So here are the details: time of incident was 4:02pm on 11/28/2013 and the car had 1521 miles on the odo and a full tank of gas. The car had been sitting about 4 hrs and i had been driving the car about 1.5 miles when it occurred. The outside temp was 64 degrees. If the car didn't move me forward into the road and it just didn't respond at the stop sign that wouldn't be nearly as bad but it moves you about 5 feet into traffic and then stops responding for about 4 seconds and if there was an on coming car i would have been hit.there have been several reports of this happening on this forums and it is obvious that there is something wrong somewhere in these cars (particularly the 2013). This is clearly a safety issue and cadillac needs to figure this out before people are hurt or dies due to this malfunction.
Cadillac srx, delivered on 5/31/13 (purchased 5/27/13). Srx serviced on 11/11/13 because of warning messages-service rear axel&awd on 10/30/13-called dealer immediately/arranged service on 11/11/13-mileage 6045). Only did computer updates. On 11/13/13(mileage 6277) came to a complete stop and when turning right the car was in very slow motion & barely moving with my foot on the gas, finally it moved. It happened again on 11/15/13 (mileage 6498)but turning left & another car was approaching on the right, thought i was going to be hit.called dealer & told to bring it back. Dealer quite a distance from me afraid to drive the car there. On 11/19/13 (thought i could getto gm dealer (sat from 11/15/13) & turning right it did it again.i was quite upset and called onstar to tow it. Gm dealer, informed, might not have the diagnostics that the cadillac dealer has to evaluate my srx.they could not tell what my dealership had done from notes on the servicing on the srx.only thing found was to do ev update.on evening of 11/26/13 (mileage 6708)had acceleration problem again turning right from a complete stop.called dealer & arranged to drop it off on 11/29/13 (mileage 7034)& receive a replacement car while mine was checked out.on a highway i went to pass a car and lost acceleration for a few seconds.at least i was going downhill or the cars coming up in the lane i was switching to would have hit me.dealer cannot replicate the problem but did find that there was an update on heating/ac needed. Got srx on 12/4/13.the dealer only drove my car 8 miles to do any testing.again acceleration problem on 12/19/13( mileage 7584)& it was from a complete stop turning right but lasted a much longer time.also when backing out of a parking space the problem arose yet again & called the dealership.12/21/13 having srx looked at again. 7 months old &same problem. Is it a lemon?
Time lag when car is at a hill stop or fwd gearhesitation from coming off hill or rxr crossings, would roll backward from coming out of brake to gas pedal like no pwr response from eng.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving approximately 13 mph, the vehicle started to jerk and the electric seats and gps did not work. There were no warning indicators illuminated. When entering the street from my driveway, the transmission failed to engage for four to five seconds.this has happened several times.when i took the vehicle in to galles & davis in albuquerque, they said the problem was due to an electronic acceleration system and that nothing culd be done.

Once in awhile, while driving the srx, it hesitant shifting causing rpm to rev higher than usual. When slowing down, once in awhile you feel a kick. Also i hear a slight whining noise when driving.steering wheel turned all the way to the left or to the right, steering wheel does not turn back when going forward nor reverse, it stays turned.
When i bought the car in november of 2016 and drove it off the lot i've had nothing but problems. Two vehicles have almost hit me due to the lag in accerlation. I've spoken with my dealership several of times about this issue and they do not resolve the problem. There has been a recall on my suv and i was told it was fixed but i can'tfind any supporting documents stating it was fixed properly. I currently go through 13 miles per gallon which is not normal.

The transmission locked up when going up a hill in the adirondack mountains.the car would not accelerate nor would it shift and we had to immediately pull off the road.it lurched as if trying to shift was unable to do so.if we had been in the passing lane on an interstate when it happened it could have been very serious since we lost control of our speed.the car would not go into reverse or in neutral after it stopped.we were towed to a dealer the the entire transmission had to be replaced. The dealer contacted gm and, after describing the problem, was told immediately what had happened to the transmission.clearly, this was not an unusual problem.
Vehicle has a recall id. Recall 21v473. Advised by dealer for cadillac not to drive or operate vehichle, however gm does not have parts to correct recall and as a consumer and only transportation it is a burden for me . I also have a loan on this vehicle that is current in payments and must make future payments on a vehicle that is unsafe to drive. I feel gm. Needs to get this vehicle repaired asap. Or purchase back atr the cost of my loan. Very upset and angry there is at this time no resolution by gm and no parts available .
Transmission problem leaking plus rear axle noises while driving on 295 hwy lost power from gears started locking up
My lights on low beam are so dim i can't drive at night.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact felt that the transmission failed and took the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer determined there was no transmission failure. Later, the transmission jerked and caused the vehicle to crash into a building. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was unable to be controlled. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who could not determine what caused the failure. The contact found nhtsa campaign number:14v212000 (power train). The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was previously repaired according to the recall and the vehicle was performing as designed. The contact did not recall having the recall repair performed. The failure mileage was 8,000. Updated 6/3/15updated 10/2/2017
Transmission shifts very erratically when accelerating. Vehicle was recalled this year for this problem but the fix failed to solve the problem. The dealer is telling me that this is normal for an electronic transmission. This is insulting as my last vehicles had this and did not shift like the srx. I am concerned that a major failure lies ahead that could strand my family or cause an accident and obviously cost thousands to repair or replace.
Timing chain is damaged and the car has less than 77,000 miles. It started having problem when the car was under warranty at about 66,000 miles. The dealer chose to just monitor and now miraculously once i have no warranty, the timing chain needs to be replaced. The light came on and the car is noisy while running.

The consumer was injured and the vehicle had significant frontal damage. The consumer stated when he attempted to make a left turn, the vehicle hesitated and by that time, another vehicle was coming toward him.the consumer referenced recall # 14v212000.

The manufacturer stated that the seat belt failure was not a recall issue. The dealer (crest cadillac, 2121 rosa l parks blvd, nashville, tn 37228) was contacted and informed the contact of the repair cost. The manufacturer was contacted and agreed to cover half of the repair cost. The seat belt was not repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000.
The heated seat caught on fire and burned a hole through the leather seat and had to put water on it to get it out. It was on the lower right side of the back while i was sitting in it in a parking lot and lucky i was not driving or it may have caused an accident as it was burning a hole through my coat as well.
Head on collision at 40 mph on a city street. Air bags did not deploy and seat moved forward. Resulting in er visit and head laceration and loss of consciousness.
Power driver side seat will stick and will not lower. Memory system for power seats faulty.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. When the seat warmer was activated, the seat caught fire. The contact's husband extinguished the fire. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained a burn on the left side of her back, which did not require medical attention. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,232.

Brakes give out when pressed a hard while in motion to come to a stop. While stopped brake pedal will go all the way to the floor and brakes do not engage.have to pump brake pedal continuously while stopped to regain pressure or while in motion brakes do not engage. Occurs on street, highway. Will occur while braking after hitting a pothole as well.
While driving , if i slide on ice , mudor gravel while driving , the brake pedal pulses then goes almost to the floor then it comes back up to normal pedal position and if you press it to slow down the pedal is spongy and goes almost to the floor with very little stopping power. After car sits parked it seems to repair itself. Repairing itself might take a couple hours or one to two days.i am unable to drive this car when brakes fail. I just keep checking for when my brakes come back, then i drive. This has now happened 4 times in 2 yrs.the cadillac technitions are unable to find problem. No codes showing in diagnostic testing.please help me figure out what's wrong.this car is a big safety hazard. It needs solved and fixed. Thank you
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving 2 mph, the brakes malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
I was driving on i-90 in illinois when i attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle accelerated and struck a vehicle and continued to accelerate until the emergency brake was activated and the vehicle finally stopped. There was a recall on the vehicle transmission and brake system, i went to rizza cadillac and the recall was alleged to be performed on 25 march 2013, but the vehicle did exactly what was suppose to be repaired on the recall and the brakes failed causing the accident. The recall number is 13053.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel made an abnormal sound and then seized on two separate occasions during heavy rainfall. The contact had to forcefully turn the steering wheel while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the wheel bearing was replaced, however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the dealer replaced the driveshaft and the wheel bearing again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that he would receive a callback. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

Headlights are very dim, it is very hard to see the road at night. While turning the steering wheel the car makes noise. While putting car in park shifter does not go all the way in to p mode , can't turn off the engine a lot of times.
Our cadillac srx suddenly veered off the road when driving 55mph on a straight level road.the vehicle left the road hitting a tree and only the driver's airbag deployed even though it was an offset frontal collision.the car had all recalled items already fixed by gm dealers before the crash occurred.the vehicle was a total loss.
This vehicle is equipped with blind spot sensors and the ones located on the passenger side of the vehicle have never worked properly from the time of purchase of the vehicle. We have been working with the dealership for resolution for the past year and a half with no success.the sensor only works 40 percent of the time and the remainder is just false readings or no readings at all creating the potential for an accident that could be life threatening.i filed a complaint with gm and they have come back and said this is normal and they will not address the issue, i find it hard to believe that they consider a safety feature designed to prevent accidents on the highway that only works 40 percent of the time as being normal. If this issue is not addressed at some point in time there will be a fatal accident.it is not a matter of if, but one of when.

It was a very pleasant friday, october 4, 2013 at approximately 4pm.my sister and i were headed to petersburg, va from charlotte, nc.with only 50 miles to go on 85n we both heardwhat sounded like an extremely loud and close gun shot.i was driving and she was sleeping.it woke her up and scarred both of us to death.not knowing what just happened she started looking around.the next thing we heard was glass breaking and falling on to the sunroof liner of the car.luckily we were only a mile from a rest area.i pulled over, got out of the car, opened the back door to stand on the inside to be able to see on top and was in total shock at what i saw.one section of my sunroof had been broken.my car has a panoramic sunroof with two separate panels.the back panel was shattered into millions of tiny fragments.the glass continued to break and fall on to the liner.small pieces managed to get through onto the back seat.i did the best i could in cleaning up the pieces.i called a state trooper and made a report, i called my insurance company and also onstar.i spent the weekend with no sunroof because the cadillac service dept in va is not open on the weekend.it was a horrible experience being that i purchased my car on tuesday and this happened on friday.it's been a week and a half since i dropped my car off to be repaired and i can finally pick it up on tomorrow.i won't complain because it could have been worse, i am truly blessed.
Moon roof drainage system is poorly designed.drainage hose runs alongside moon roof then inside car to the rear tailgate area, directly over lift gate fuse and module.on numerous occasions it has backed up, leaked into left rear (driver's side) floor causing carpet to get wet.it tends to leak in rear tailgate area over the fuse panel and lift gate module shorting out the power or automatic tailgate feature.this has been an issue for the same problem more than once, including replacing the fuses and lift gate module.this problem is the same whether the car is stationary or moving.other methods have been suggested and tried to eliminate wetness and odor from windows open, damp rid, even wet/dry vacuum.now that my car is out of warranty, the repair bill is mine to settle for a known chronic problem and poor design.

This morning i was parked in a lot outside of a store with my trunk open. I was leaning in the trunk moving items around. I can only assume i applied pressure to the trunk button on the key fob unknowingly. The trunk closed down onto my back and felt as if it was intent on closing even though my body was preventing the trunk from closing. I could not pull back as the door literally had me pinned in the trunk. My husband ran around to the back of the car as did another gentleman in the parking lot. My husband began hollering to hit the button which i still had. The door immediately began to lift after hitting the door release button of the fob. The event was shocking enough that i can't imagine what might have happened had my husband and a passerby not hollered for me to push the button bringing me out of the state of shock or if instead of an adult a young child had the door closing on them. The weight and pressure of the door prevented me from doing much more than pushing the button.
Loss of vehicle control due to toe-link adjustment failure.for months before the loss of control incident, the rear of the 2013 cadillac srx would wobble slightly at highway speeds (50+ mph). The service department of the cadillac dealer did a visual inspection but saw no obvious problems and speculated the car was following the road ruts of worn pavement.on a high speed divided highway at 60 mph, the vehicle exited a bridge section for regular pavement and the steering wheel cocked about five degrees to the left but the wheels remained pointed straight. A call was placed to the dealership to have the problem examined. Returning to the same highway an hour later in the opposite direction, acceleration on the entrance ramp (downhill) at about 40 mph caused loss of control of the rear of the vehicle which darted back and forth violently. The vehicle could be slowed to a stop and did not hit another vehicle or the guardrail. The left rear tire was at an extreme angle of camber with the top of the wheel inward to the vehicle.the vehicle was towed to a local cadillac dealer for inspection and the left toe link adjustment part was apparently worn on the threads. Both left and right parts were replaced.

Cue malfunctioning: i purchased my car two months ago and it has been in the shop for the past month after the cue quit responding. The cadillac dealer cannot do anything to help because cadillac does not make the cue any more. Called customer service and told them that i was told to "get in line because there are more than 700 customers ahead of you with the same problem". Really? and that's just one shop! we have called around, no one has the oem parts. The only option is a refurbished unit. We have tried that, the unit was defective. So here i am, stuck paying for a car i cannot fully use because all of the settings are in the cue. To fix the issue will cost $1,500 but that's only if i can get around to fixing it or whenever 700+ other customers' cues are fixed... However long that will take!
Headlights on dim are almost non existent and dangerous.bright lights work great but you can't drive with brights.the dim lights are like driving with a flashlight with almost dead batteries.dangerous!!!
Passenger headlight has water inside, headlight dimmed, can't see on one side of car, driving can't see at night
Very disappointed in this car. Purchased new.we are still working for resolution to the tcm transmission control module recall- the dealer originally reprogrammed the tcm using wrong program which caused a huge delay between shifts. It was reprogramed several months later, but now is experiencing the lag when the car is in "eco"mode..occurs when the car accelerates to 10 mph, breaks are applied, then go to accelerate again--there is a huge lag--nearly hit trying to pull into traffic. In normal mode, this is not as prevalent, but is not shifting as it should.with the rear toe nut recall, the dealer tightened the toe nuts.. That's all their notes state.we took this vehicle in to have them diagnose a multitude of issue--one of which uneven tire wear and chipping. They determined that the rear toe was out of alignment substantially.-- appears that when the recall was completed, all they did was tighten the toe adjusts (even if in alignment or not) if you look at the recall report, gm amended the sop for resolving this issue in early 2015 with additional pictures of how to properly tighten the toe--we asked that gm replace these badly worn tires, but they declined--the car has 28,000 miles, and it already needs new tires... !?on 12/5/15 while cleaning the vehicle, i found some bearings in the drivers floor board--along with some white plastic that houses the bearings--i guess it came from the seat track?--taking in to dealer to examine.the car also has evidence of power steering fluid leaking from the reservoir--and under the driver's side of the vehicle due to power steering fluid residue in each of these locations. A pecking noise if prevalent at slow speeds.the rear cv shaft has the paint worn off where something is in contact.also confirmed during all of this that the car has been painted--prior to us driving off of the lot new in 2013
The cue panel needs to be replaced - $1400 ouch won't allow me to do anything on it nav, phone, weather, etc. In motion or stationary
Takara recall" the cadillac 2013 srx luxury latch gate will not unlock when i had a flat tire to get the spare tire out the back. Also when it did open it slammed on top of my back and would not stop closing.
The cue system stoped working with the tough screen and its now impossible to set up hands free driving.
While car was running it started jerking and it would not go faster than 20mph. When car came to a stop it turned off. When starting the car before it starts running it would jerk again and slowing go up to max 30mph.
The mother board in my cadillac cue controls is going out for the 3rd time.cadillac has admitted to knowing that the board they put in their vehicles are trash.cadillac however did not notify me before or after i purchased the vehicle that these mother boards are trash and will fail about every 1 1/2 years and must be replaced for around $1,100 to $1,850.at times the screen will be black and you cannot do anything with the radio, a/c or onstar functions.at times the screen will start to shimmy as if it is having a seizure.at times it will start to make beeping noises and randomly assign radio stations to multiple setting spots and you have to go back and reset all of your settings.my $5,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty does cover the replacement however once that is expired i must come out of pocket at least every year or two over $1,000 to have it replaced.no recall has been done to replace this with a higher quality, longer lasting mother board
The lift gate will not open due to the control module short circuitiing. This was due to water backing up from the sunroof drain hose which seeped into the trunk area and shorted out the liftgate control box.
While under warranty i had a new cue installed. A little over a year later it went out again; however, this time i was quoted $1500 to repair it. A friend has the same car and hers was recalled and replaced.
I bought my vehicle 6 months ago. I never owned a cadillac and i really love it but there isn't alot of leg room in the back seat and its hard to see the turn signal lights being 6'4 the way the window is shaped i have to hunch to the side and look up. My main problem is the touch screen from the cue applications. It doesn't register my touch so i have to go through the steering wheel buttons to change anything.my vehicle only has 56,000 miles on it i don't think something like that should go out that fast. I have read other owners stating the same thing. There should be a recall on this cause s person shouldn't have to go through the steering wheel buttons when there is a touch screen to do that. I think we should have the newest software available or put a new updated version instead of the one that was first put out. Thanks for your attention in this matter
The computer on the dash that controlls the back up cam radio etc. Has been replaced while under warranty began cracking for no apparent reason.cadillac will not replace the part and cannot guarantee the part will not fail a 3rd time.told many people have this problem.
Headlights are hazy can not see anything while driving during the night. This could cause a bad accident. Popping noise on front driver side while car is running dealership says it was a loose axel nut. The dealership tried repairing it twice, still the same.
This is a problem that is happening because of the stop/start button.because there is no key for this vehicle you are able to push the stop button with the car in gear and if you do not pay attention to the warning lights or chime and get out of the car it will roll away. This has happened on more than one occasion and lucky no injuries so far.because of the interlock between the key and the gear selector on a vehicle with a key you are not able to remove the key till the vehicle is in park.i know a lot of cars now have the stop/start button so am thinking this may cause a lot of accidents if they all work in this manner.
The touch screen does not work at all. It's a safety hazard as you cannot change the ac/heat/defrost etc. I've tried doing the factory reset and that does not fix the radio problem either.
Https://www.cadillacforum.com/forum/cadillac-srx-10/cue-screen-spider-webbing-16740/
Can not see with low beams at night. Also, the screen freezes on the "cue" display
The cue system is locked up and will not respond only has 22,230 miles
I purchase a cadillac srx 2013 and after a 6 hour trip a very loud noise started coming from the left front side of the vehicle. I have had it in the shop 5-6 times. They state that the noise is reproducible but they can seem to nail down where it is coming from. The noise becomes loudest at 35-40 then at 78-80 mph. The vehicle is still under warranty at benny boyds. I took it to aldersonand they said they thought it was in the frame. However gm sent a rep. And he denied there was any sound coming from the front end even with the mechainc in the back seat validating the noise. Ive had two different dealerships and a outside mechanic validate the problem, but they are unable to fix it. It is a rotational noise that is not heard in other srx's. I tried the lemon law but the rep denied the problem and i was advised to just continue taking the car into the shop until they can fix it.
Shift to park error-car not registering when in park. System display says "shift to park" after moving shift control to the park position. Will not allow me to safely shut down/turn off vehicle. Has happened a couple of times now while stationary in parking lot and in my garage. I am not sure if car is actually in park or not and am afraid vehicle will roll. Has happened a few times, the first few times i could jigge the shift control and it would clear the error. Now i have to reboot my system to shut the car down.
The cadillac cue system becomes non responsive which does not allow you to control most things which are electronically controlled from that system which is the radio, air conditioning system, and other systems. You do not have to be in motion to use this system. The system developed small cracks all over which start from the corners and thedealership refuses to fix them.
Touch screen became inoperable;first the fan started not working to defrost the window intermittently, then the choice of venting stopped working, then the radio.repair:dealership replaced touch screen (f-control) costing us $1507.72....submitted as i see you are reviewing same issue in teslas.
2013 cadillac srx front headlamps do not put out light.cant drive it at night. Cadillac suggested after market bulbs, also didn't work.have now installed flood lights to use for driving.have spent over $600.cadillac says they have never heard of this happening.can't guarantee putting new ones in will help and it could happen again.how can cadillac sell cars without effective lights?terrible safety hazard.got no satisfaction from dealer or cadillac.
Touch screen has developed a spider web that makes the touch screen useless.this screen was replaced while under warranty at 50,000 miles.i now have 103,000 miles and was told to replace this would be $1000.after checking online many owners have had the same problem.obviously an issue with this year and model of the caddilac srx.
We have been receiving the card telling us we have active recalls on our vehicle of the following: 13053 driver shift control feature may disengage; 13116 loosening of the wheel nuts; 14132 lag in acceleration & 14457 rear toe link adjuster lock nut torque.we have taken the vehicle to sam swope cadillac in louisville ky & champion chevrolet in lagrange ky & both refuse to perform the recall work because our title is a rebuilt title.why does that make a difference, we still need to have these issues fixed.our vehicle is properly titled, licensed & we have full coverage insurance.(the reason it is a rebuilt title was rear damage on the lot.it only had 35 miles on it when we got it!)i want to get these recalls taken care of, but can't find anyone to perform them thru the recall notice.could you please advise what our next steps ought to be?rebuilt title or not, these recall services need to be performed on our vehicle.thank you
The cue system (controls radio, navigation, weather alerts, climate controls and vehicle settings) is non responsive.i cannot access the systems to make specific adjustments to climate control settings (directing the heat or air to the feet or chest area) program new radio stations, add a new cell phone for hands free operations, input vehicle navigation destinations or make setting changes to the vehicle operation.this is hazardous as i rely on the vehicle navigation to find locations in out of town locations, weather and road alert information and hands free cell phone operation to receive calls.i have reset the system according to the instructions in the owners manual but it does not restore the touch screen functions.this is a defect in the design of the system and gm was aware of it as early as 2014-2015.the dealership wants more than $2000.00 to replace the whole unit with an identical one that has the same defect.there needs to be a recall issued on all of these cadillacs.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While drivingapproximately 65 mph, the vehicle surged forward and stalled. The speedometer reflected 140 mph, when the vehicle was only traveling 65 mph. All the warning indicators flashed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was kept at the dealer for two months before being taken to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 72,341...updated 09/25/17 mechanical issue with the vehicle:transmission lagging, and revving inadvertently. Speedometer continues to show incorrect traveling speeds since the vehicle was purchased. Inadvertent acceleration of the engine, the speedometer reads that it is traveling at 160 miles an hour when traveling at approximately 70 miles and hour on the highway. Speedometer gage does not reset and vehicle accelerates causing the transmission to lag in its acceleration response time. Back up gallery camera error warning codes. Gas gage shows empty almost empty by the gas tank is full. Rmp show 0 rpm while the vehicle is in motion. Updated 9/5/18
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration power without warning. The vehicle regained power independently. The failure recurred a dozen times over a period of seven months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500 and current mileage was 4,349.

Twice i have been stopped at a stop light . . . When it was time to go, i pushed the gas, it went a little ways (a few hundred feet) and then it lost power (for lack of a better term) . . . I had the gas pedal to the floor, but the vehicle wouldn't go. After about 5-8 seconds, it pealed out and went. Again, this happened twice - two days in a row. It hasn't happened since then, though i have experienced a slighter hesitation several times coming off a stop. Along with this, i can also be driving down the road with nothing in front of me, behind me, or anywhere around me, and the collision lights flash and the seats vibrate as if i am approaching another vehicle to quickly. Again, it does this when nothing is around me. This typically happens when i'm going down the interstate at 65-70 mph.
This incident occurred while driving our new srx home from the dealer. We stopped at a stop sign, and when the light turned green, we started accelerating but slammed on the brakes after noticing a car had ranthe red light from our right. Our srx only moved about 3 feet from the time the light turned green to the time we slammed on the brakes. After the car that ran the red light cleared the intersection in front of us, we tried to continue the acceleration but the accelerator would not respond for 3-5 seconds. After that time, accelerator responded and srx ran fine. We have not had this happen again and can not reproduce this issue.
Approx 5 second lag in acceleration when departing parking space. Two occasions.
This incident has occurred 5 times on my vehicle. The most recent today, 4/2/2014.what happens is i push on the gas pedal and their is a delay of 4 seconds before the car engages and moves. First time this occurred was when i was getting on highway. I pushed down on the gas pedal and the car did not move. Two times i had this issue occur when i came to a complete stop at a stop sign. I pushed on the gas after stopping and the car did not move. I had another incident after backing out of a parking spot. I shifted the car into drive and then pushed on the gas pedal and the car did not move. The latest incident today occurred when making a right hand turn. After i completed the turn i pushed on the gas and the car did not move. In each incident, it feels like the car is trying to engage and then it finally kicks in. I have taken the vehicle into lindsay cadillac dealership and they have told me this is normal behavior for this vehicle and nothing is the matter with it. They refer to a january 2014 post on their blog site. When they read it to me i confirm i was not passing a vehicle nor did i do a rolling stop since that is when they say this issue would occur. I did speak with gm customer care after my visit to the dealership when they told me they could not find a problem and they were shocked to hear me say the dealership stated this is normal behavior. They told me it was not. I am now reporting this issue to you hoping you can look into it with gm.
Acceleration takes a few seconds to catch up. This problem was suppossedto have been resolved. However, i continue to have problems with acceleration lagging.

Approx 4000 miles on the vehiclethere have been other instances as well but this is a summary of some of the times this has occurred.

Headlamps (low beam only) are too dim when driving at night. In areas where the roads are not well lit driving with low beams on is extremely dangerous. We have avoided driving at night or with high beams on (which becomes dangerous for other drivers). We reported the problem directly to cadillac via a phone call and was told to see a dealership. The dealership (massey cadillac of north orlando) informed us this was a common problem with the headlamps projector but there is no recall on it. The headlamps cannot be fixed, only replaced. Replacing the headlamps would cost just over $1,000.00. We feel cadillac has a defect in there headlamps and is making no effort to rectify the issue. We can only speculate as to why cadillac will not recall or help customers with out-of-date warranties.the problem is with the low beam getting to hot and creating distortion or a build-up in the projector.we can take photos if needed, but felt it might be hard to tell what's going on via a photo.
Headlights are hazy can not see anything while driving during the night. This could cause a bad accident. Popping noise on front driver side while car is running dealership says it was a loose axel nut. The dealership tried repairing it twice, still the same.
No low beam headlight visibility. Cadillac said there is no fix.
Headlights extremely dim cannot drive at night
Low beam headlights are so dim that visibility at night is very low and dangerous to drive. New replaced parts result in same problem within few months and customer has to pay for replacements. Paying for it since aug 2018 and problem still exists.
Front lights are not strongly lit at times. Especially when it is extremely dark out side. When it is not so dark outside the lights work perfect. In extreme dark nights must use the high beams to be able to see the roads
Headlights are so dim, you can not see at night at all. Its very dangerous to drive at night in this car. There has to be a resolution to this.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact heard a loud noise and observed that the sun roof shattered. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.
The contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the sun roof leaked every time it rained. The incident caused several electrical failures to occur. The vehicle was taken tovince whibbs buick gmc cadillac (5651 pensacola blvd, pensacola, fl 32505, 850-610-1851) where it was diagnosed that the drain hose should be checked twice a year for a water test to prevent the failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 80,000.
