My service air bag and moisture in my right headlight the assembly is out due to the moisture in the headlight assembly. Causing me not able to see at night the cost is $1600+ tax. Who has that type of money like that. Cadillac need to have a recall on that and the seat belt.

On 03-01-2019 i was traveling south on dixieland road in rogers, arkansas. As i approached the intersection of persimmon st. I saw that i was about to run a red light. I hit the brakes hard and swerved left to try and avoid hitting an suv. I was unable to avoid the vehicle and the front and right side of the 2011 cadillac srx i was driving hit the suv. I was thrown into the passenger floorboard and none of the takata inflator equipped air bags deployed.

While driving down the street just after exiting the freeway both side and driver airbags deployed and abruptly shut car off impacting my ability to steer and brake. No crash no accident no exterior damage

I was turning south with a green arrow when the second driver ran a red light traveling east and we collided.he was traveling at approximately 40-45 miles per hour and i was traveling at approximately 30 miles an hour.our impact was somewhat of a t-incident with the front end of my car damaged and his car on the driver's side damaged.my air bags did not inflate, even though we believe the impact was at the angle and the required speed of vehicles to inflate them.the air bags in the second driver's car (ford focus) did inflate.

I was involved in an accident, i ran into a vehicle the damage was to the front of the car . The airbags didnt deploy or the sensors of the front of my car did not go off either.

The contact's aunt owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while her aunt was driving at 25 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning and hit a tree. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's aunt was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries to her left hand, head and chest. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed by her insurance to an independent mechanic for an investigation. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. Upon her own investigation, the contact linked her aunt's failure to nhtsa campaign number: 14v571000 (suspension); however, the manufacturer informed her that the recall had been serviced at labadie buick gmc(711 s euclid ave, bay city, mi 48706) in 2014. The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. When the contact entered the vehicle at a fuel station and attempted to start the vehicle, the vehicle did not detect the presence of the fobik key and would not start. The vehicle's anti-theft system engaged and locked the contact in the vehicle. The contact's spouse used his fobik key to unlock the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

The headlights - low beam - are the worst. I've been driving for over 40 years. When i complained to the dealership (crestview cadillac - west covina, ca) that they were so bad i believed it is dangerous to drive at night, they said they didn't get any complaints from other drivers!i have to use my high beams all the time to be safe.i have had passengers tell me i don't have my headlamps on!!it's a very real problem. I have found several complaint pages on line. I believe they shoulddo a recall on these cars and fix the problem.if i go to after market, i'm afraid ill nullify my warranty. Please help!

On 8-13-18 we had heavy rain and next day the lift gate would not operate. Car under extended warranty, but dealer said not covered because drain tube to panoramic roof is the problem, and they crack causing leak. Only front drains were recalled, not rear, and the leaking tubes allowed water into lift gate module and shorted it out. Called insurance company for covergage under comprehensive, and after inspection the adjuster said its a warranty claim. Without lift gate module the rear lift gate cannot be opened either electronically or manually. Must be repaired for safety, but cost is $2000.dealer says they see 12 cars a month with this problem, and adjuster says it is so frequent that they see at least 3 a month just for their company (geico).

Driver's side headlight failed. Determined igniter failure due to moisture intrusioninto headlight assembly. Repair cost $1900. This is a known defect by cadillac. Though replacement assembly was gm oem, the illumination pattern on the driver's side is 24"-36" shorter than passenger side that has original assembly from november, 2010 build date. Manual and computer adjustment did not correct the problem and no problems reported when diagnostics run.

There is water all over the floor of my 2011 cadillac srx luxury edition and its from the sunroof. The water got into my electrical and now my trunk won't open and the floors won't dry. The vehicle was parked.

My wife was going to leave the house yesterday (7/29/2016) morning to start her day. She called to notify me that the cadillac would not start. The car was parked in the driveway. Only the interior lights would come on. By the time i got home that afternoon the car would start but anything electronic was going crazy. The dash lights, radio, warning systems were all flickering on and off. I eventually disconnected the battery because the car would not stop powering up the dash and radio.being in the business that i am in,iknew there was most likely a moisture problem. So today after doing a little searching on the internet and found that this vehiclehas a problem with sunroof leakage. I then go to check under my floor mats for water. Carpet waswet. I then proceeded to pull back the carpet and foam. I found water everywhere. I sucked up about 2 gallons from the front and back seat areas. Withoutpulling up the carpet you would have never know there was water in the car. I would assume this is also the reason my lift gate went out about 6 months ago. Possibly the cause of my windows being very slow to rise. Because it looks like much of the wiringruns along the sides of the car under the carpet. I am very disappointed with the performance of the this car. My wife and i made it toplace in life where we finally decided to splurge a little on a luxury car and this is what we got. I understand things breaking down and making repair,s but this is apparently a flaw in their sunroof design and gm has to know about it . This car has 48000 miles.

Thecontact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that when driving at any speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for repairs. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 11v595000 (power train: automatic transmission) but did not receive confirmation that the vehicle was included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage is 28,000.updated 09/19/12*ljupdated 09/27/12

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving at an unknown speed, the headlights failed to illuminate. There were no warning indicators illuminated before or during the failure. The dealer was not contacted about the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 98,000.

Both front (l & r) windows operate very slowly when going up. So slowly, in fact, often "manual assistance" (the use of the driver's hand grasping the window-helping it up-as it s-l-o-w-l-y rises) is required.naturally, the 4 year bumper to bumper warrantee just expired 2 months ago.this is a disgrace!a 4 year old cadillac(28k miles) with "$2.00" (cheap!!) window motors. And gm wonders why mercedes, lexus and bmw trump them every year.no mystery!

On the 2011 cadillac srx there is no warning sounded if you leave your keyless ignition running and leave the vehicle.yesterday, i inadvertently left the vehicle running and the car did not beep or give me any indication that i had done so.these keyless ignition systems are very dangerous because if you accidentally leave the car running in the garage you could inadvertently cause a carbon monoxide poisoning situation.it is a very unsafe feature that could be corrected with a simple warning signal.there needs to be some type of warning, a car horn beep or something to let the driver know that the vehicle is running when the driver leaves the vehicle.

The headlamps are dim due to condensation in the headlight housings. There should be a recall issued.

The passenger side headlight has moisture in it and does not work. This appears to be a common problem with some owners reportedly losing both head lamps do to this problem. Extremely dangerous. One person on the cadillac forum reported that there were 30,000 post regarding this problem. Going back several years. This appears to be an ongoing design problem that gm refuses to acknowledge. The cost to fix is about $1500 per lamp.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While raining, the well in the rear of the vehicle filled with water, which flooded the rear electrical system in the rear of the vehicle. The failure resulted in the liftgate not functioning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic modules in the rear of the vehicle failed and needed to be repaired. The manufacturer informed the contact that thevehicle was previously serviced per a manufacturer's communication (g-208314) and further assistance would not be provided. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

I have complained to cadillac about my headlights having condensation which leads to them intermittently turning off. It's illegal to drive without headlights at night in wa state and it's dangerous. On 2/28/20, cadillac sent me a letter acknowledging that's the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 srx may experience issues that could cause moisture to accumulate in their headlamps capsule and cause halogen headlights to become dimmer over time. They state in the letter that they will only reimburse up to $1,600 for the repair. The repair is $2,600. Then they said the claim form has to be submitted by may 28, 2020. None of the dealerships have the headlights because they are on back orders. They told me they may not get the headlights by that time. In other states lawsuits have been filed where cadillac did not win. In those lawsuits it was noted that cadillac was aware of this defect and ignored it. I'm asking that you please order cadillac to issue a recall. It's the right thing to do and it's a safety concern.

This is the 2nd time for this repair... The back hatch won't lift, the sunroof won't open, the backup camera is foggy, and the door locks won't engage when the vehicle is put in gear.once again, the "motor" that runs all of these things has gotten water in it and has burnt up. First time repair....$2300. This time, i don't have the final total yet, but i think they saw me coming.considering that my car is always parked under cover, my opinion is that this is a flaw with the way the car is made. If you pay this much money for a nice vehicle, you expect it to deliver on all fronts--not leak and fry when it rains.again, same repair within 2 years.

Mosture/condensation in passenger headlamp assembly, caused reduced illumination and failure of the lamp and supporting electrical assembly

7/24/15 had sunroof serviced for recall.interior wet moldy, even hat in seat web. 7/26/15 could not open rear lift gate..dealer could repair for half rhe $1,200 cost, since the mileage was over 4 year warranty but had less than 48,000 mi. Could hear water after any rain.dealer admitted problem with sunroof was cause, but not covered.other fuses also located in rear block, fuel pump, wiper, rear windows..cannot open lift gate even manually.so no access to spare, etc.called cadillac customer care many times ,but they will not admit an obvious safety and design defect.nor has ther been any advice not to operate or park during rain,or how to prevent further damage.

On several occasions, the hatchback liftgate opened by itself. Then it would not open at all which doesn't allow any access to the rear cargo area where flat tire repair gear is located. I then determined that the expensive electrical liftgate mechanism became submerged in water from sunroof drain tubes that fail to drain rain to the ground. A further look revealed that the front seat and rear seat floor mats were saturated where electrical cables are routed. Can you provide me with a copy of nhtsa reference # 10078604 or tsb reference # pic-5260-a or any other information why general motors hasn't recalled cadillacs with this unsafe condition.

Moisture in headlight burns out the light. Dangerous cause can't see at night

I received a recall notice for a safety issue with my cadillac srx 2011. Recall #n212340980 regarding the real toe link. My vehicle is already showing signs of this issue and has been for over 2 years. Cadillac is not prepared to handle this issue. I called to make an appointment and was told they do not have the parts yet to fix the issue. Not to drive my car for safety reasons. I do not have access to another car, they cannot offer a loaner vehicle or a rental, so they so. I have doctors appointments, i need to use my vehicle. I am awaiting a reply from the dealership as to when the parts will be available, in the meantime i have to pray my car does not fall apart.

I was parked in my driveway and opened the door and found about 3 inches of water on both the drivers and passenger side. I felt the side panels, under dash, top of dash, headliner, windows and all were dry. The seats and the middle column compartment felt damp. I looked online and found there were complaints of the drain tubes leaking. As the week went on i noticed the car was starting to get mold. It got so bad i couldn't drive the car because it was making me ill with breathing issues. I took it to the dealership and told him it was leaking and that i researched a bit and found that they had issues with the tubes and he said they would need to keep it overnight and would check it and let me know. He calls the next day and says it looks like its coming from the roofthey would need to take off the headliner and perform a leak check to verify if that was the cause. He gave me another estimate that was to include the verifying and leak test and replacing the seatbelts and front rug for $6000 and suggests i start an insurance claim.i tell him to not take the headliner off and i would check into the insurance . When i pick it up he hands me an estimate that ends up almost $8000.00! they had my car overnight and did nothing and charged me $300 for labor! i try to turn it in to insurance and they reject it because he tells them he didn't actually verify the leak even though he charged me. So i am stuck with! thats a big safety issue! my car is actually killing me sitting in it. I could never replace the vehicle at the price i originally paid nor can i sell it or hope to get any value from it to get another car. It has only 71,000 miles on it. A $45000 car that is basically worthless now!

Low beam headlights are very dim and dangerous to drive at night.sunroof leaks water, third brake light out and back up camera stop working.

From a complete stop, attempting to pull out into traffic, vehicle exhibits lag or hesitation when accelerating, even with accelerator pushed to the floor.this situation has the potential to become a safety issue in the event a driver is unable to accelerate adequately with oncoming traffic.vehicle has the 3.0l vvt dohc v6 sidi engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, all wheel drive (awd).thank you.

Low beam headlights dimmed. High beam headlights failed completely. Moisture build up in headlight housings apparently impacted electronic headlight controllers.auto dealership estimates approximately $2000.00 to repair.. Replacement of both headlight bulbs produced no difference in light output.bulbs that were replaced appear to be fully functional. Mechanic at firestone auto care facility states that 'headlight housing unit appears to have defective seals allowing moisture in and remaining inside the housing damaging controllers'.

Lift gate failed to open.according to warranty company water leaked from the sunroof from the drains onto the liftgate motor and shorted it out.it was not covered by the warranty because it was considered water damaged.

My sunroof has had leaky drains on both sides and caused over $3,000 in repairs. I believe the 2012 was recalled but not the 2011. It stopped my car from driving appropriately, the trunk would no longer open, and the car alarm to alert for robbery of the vehicle while driving. This caused me to have to replace my pumps on the driver side of the car and the computer / electrical system. This repair cost close to $2,000.then about 14 months later; the passenger side sunroof leak occurred and caused flooding on the passenger side of my car. This led to mold and a clean of the car to allow me to breath in my car. This repair cost over $1,000.

This winter it was freezing, my 2011 srx cadillacdisplayed a "reduced engine power" message, and i couldn't go over about 5 miles per hour.i had to pull over and stop the car. After a short time, i restarted the engine and had power back.i took the car to the cadillac dealership with the check engine light on. They said it was mythrottle body sensor. The cost came to $603. I was the second car out of four within a one week time frame that had to get this problem fixed. Cadillac did a recall for this same problem on its other vehicles but not the srx.

Abs stability code (c0045) left rear wheel speed sensor encoder ring broken. Mileage 96,020.replaced speed sensor ($28.71) and rear hub assembly ($188.54). Labor ($420).the broken sensor and hub created a noticeable and significant reduction in acceleration. Vehicle would nearly stall.mileage 96,360 began receiving service rear axle code. No noticeable performance problem, but a slight whining noise at lower speed.

Stability control light and reduced engine power happened at a stop light.vehicle was in stop and go traffic approaching traffic light on highway exit ramp.car throttle body issues already noted for other cadillac srx models of same year but gm said our vin was not covered.it is the same exact problem listed in the gm serice bullitin # 14582a from october 2015.

My stabilizer track/abs light came on but before it did my car was driving about 20 miles even though i had my foot down on the gas. Then it jumps into moving fast.the light goes on and off, so when it's off the car won't move it drags then it jumps but when the stabilizer track/abs light comes back on it doesn't do this. I checked recalls and it says my vehicle doesn't have any but who knows if this has been fixed improperly before.i was driving and cars were beeping then when it jumped i almost hit a car in front of me.

The first occurrence was in september 2011. I was headed to italy and had to drive my vehicle to atlanta so it could be inspected and shipped.the day before i received a total service from the dealership. That morning i pulled into the gas station to get gas. As i tried to pull off, the stabili trak light and check engine light came on and the car would not accelerate.i immediately turned the car off and waited a few minutes before turning it back on. After turning the car on i was able to put the car in drive and continue on my trip. The stabili trak light turned off however the check engine light remained on.i later called the dealership however, they could not state what the problem was and instructed me to reset the vehicle by turning it off and turning it back on after a couple of minutes.it happened one other time while in italy and i did what the dealership suggested and reset the vehicle. It seemed to be a temporary fix. Since returning back to the states, and being in my current residence for over a year, i began to receive safety recalls that were dated in the summer of 2014.i started to do research on all recalls for this particular make and model and found one relating to the transmission cable. My car has all the issues relating to the recall however my car was not placed on the list.i brought the matter up to a dealership close to my location and was told i would be held liable for the defects as the transmission cable recall did not relate to my vehicle.

As i approached an intersectionwith a green traffic light a vehicledriving on thecrossing street failed to stop at red light and i had to accelerate to avoid beinghit and my vehicle failed to accelerate and almost got hit . As i tried to resume my travel and enter a freewaymy car would not go over 35 miles per houruntil i had to stop and shut off the engine and restart , it then functioned as it should . This is the second time this has happened upon acceleration . Ithen reported this to general motors customer support and was told to take the vehicle to a dealer. I did and was told they found nothing wrong , and failed to repair. Upon researching i have foundthat this is a common problem with this 2011 cadillac srx.there are reports on a cadillac user forumthat have had the transmission computer module reflashed as a solution . I have mentioned this to cavender cadillac of san antoniobut they refused to attemptthis solution .

I have had an issue with the timing chain twice on this vehicle. The first instance was in sept. 2017 when the vehicle had 84k miles. Gm assisted with the cost of the repair. Less than 20k miles later and a year later, the same problem has occurred. The dealership let me know this was a 'known factory issue'. Gm is notaccepting responsibility. This is absurd the gm aid not recognizing this as an issue and issuing a recall.

This problem has been happening since i bought car with 9000 miles on it the dealer claims it is the transmission learning your driving habits, i do not agree. What happens is at any given time when the accelerator is pushed the engine/transmission will hesitate. This is happening with more frequency and more lag time. It does not matter if you are merging at 50 mph or turning right on red. The dealer also claims this is a common complaint. As a ase certified master advance level technician with 35 years experience i believe this is a software or programing problem and can only be repaired by gm ,but doubt that will happen till people die. These cars are losing a lot of resale value as this problem continues to grow and is more well known, this i learned first hand when i tried to trade-in for new.

Air conditioner makes a loud noise and can be heard from a far distance. We have tried 3x to have repaired and no one will fix problem. While standing at the rear of auto with power lift hatch open.. I was moving some objects around and noticed that the hatch was closing , being startled a was getting pinched into the opening by the hatch door.. I pushed real hard with my back and did escape serious harm, now i'm watchful when in the back and hatch is open and i'm under the door.. It does start coming down slowly after being open for a couple of minutes.. Very dangerous.. Please advise.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the navigation system failed to work and indicated that the route calculated was incorrect. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer in canada who updated the software and installed a new antenna; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer in the united states who provided a software update and the ecm controls were replaced, but the repairs did not remedy the failure. The contact received a customer satisfaction notice from the manufacturer, which was unable to be honored since the vehicle had a salvaged title. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.

Extreme moisture buildup in both headlight assemblies causing decreased nighttime visibility and additionally causing bulbs to blow out. Purchased 2011 srx used in 2017 with 63,000 miles, not aware of the defect at that time. A limited warranty was also purchased for an additional $2700 but was informed after asking the dealership to investigate that defective headlights are not covered. Quoted almost $5,000 to replace both. This is highly unsafe as well as unfair to the public, not only the risk of failure potentially causing bodily harm but i do not believe that i should be required to pay an additional $5,000, not including the warranty purchased, to repair a manufacturer's defect.

Suddenly, the regular headlamps got dim'as if someone installed a dimmer switch and brought the light down to 30%. Brights work fine. This was true whether the car was stationary or in motion. While trying to get this covered by cadillac and/or my extended warranty (both denied to cover the repair), i had to drive at night with my brights on. Either way, with brights on, or with dim lights, this is a serious safety hazard. Cadillac has known about this for many years, and in addition to not doing a recall or honoring case-by-case repairs, they continued to put the same faulty headllamp assemblies in these vehicles, up to 2015.

My passenger side headlight always goes out when it rains due to the moisture getting trapped inside

There is moisture in the headlamps which has caused the lights to dim to the point that it is unsafe to drive at night.i can see when i turn on the high beams but i can only do that when there is no oncoming traffic.

The headlights on the car don't work properly. They are too dim to see at night. You can't see the roadway at all. Light replacement doesn't fix problem. Is a problem that the car was built with. Others i know are having the same issue. There needs to be a national recall on this to help safe people from traffic accidents that are the manufacturers fault.

I noticed that only my drivers side headlight was not working. After investigating i learned that there has been 2 class action lawsuits filed and won against the manufacturer in florida and california. This is due to condensation causing the low beam light to fail. I took the headlights out and put the bulb from the drivers side into the passenger side and it works. This is consistent with the complaints from the lawsuits. There are way too many complaints about this causing headlights to fail in rainy conditions. That is the worst time for headlights to fail. There are enough complaints that a recall should be done.

Improper seal allows moisture and cobdensatuon in which causes the headlights burn out.i have owned this vehicle for 2.5 years and havereplaced the headlight bulb 3 times.

Lights dimalmost cause me to crash. Now one not working seems like a lot of issues with this vehicle. Is it to get the nearly $500 repair cost? fix the problem thousands complaining, it's an obvious flaw.not fair .this is very dangerous will this only be fixed after a tragedy?

When the headlights are on the normal setting, they barely light up the road ahead. The brights must be turned on in order to see anything.

Water collects on the inside of the sealed headlights

Headlites don't light up road at night need to use high beams

Moister completely filled both headlight assemblies and the left headlight doesn'taluminate now.this is a safty hazard.

Both headlights have moisture and right headlight failed while driving.gm is well aware of this defect.the light failing while driving is a safety issue.gm will replace light for 1400.00 dollars, but the replacement has the same defect.they need to be recalled and fixed.

Takata recall the high and low beam headlights are so dim at night driving. It's very dangerous because you can hardly to half car length in from of you

Problem with moisture inside the headlight assembly. Dealer and gm refuse to replace because of prohibited cost.

Headlight assembly has moisture problem causing headlights to fail. Driving at night with dim or failed headlights is extremely dangerous and will cause accidents and likely deaths. Cannot see roadway, oncoming cars or pedestriansdealership indicated that replacement parts have the same problem.

Headlamps have become so dim they are very dangerous and the only way to drive at night is with high beams which is also not safe for other motorist. I do not see any moisture in either headlamp as others have stated. In reading the other numerous complaints this is a situation that needs to be addressed and repaired by the manufacturer for a faulty and dangerous product.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlamps failed to operate intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (bill black chevrolet, cadillac at 601 e. Bessemer avenue, greensboro, nc 27405) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was condensation in the headlamps. The contact was informed that the headlamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights were extremely dim, which made it difficult for the contact to see the road at night. The vehicle was taken to sheehan cadillac (5101 n federal hwy, pompano beach, fl 33064) where it was diagnosed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced and the vehicle was no longer included under warranty. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 67,058.

Driving an just dim on it on

Visibility at night is very dangerous my left headlight had condensation /moisture water in it and it creates a dangerous driving conditions.i have to refrain from driving at night because the light is so dim.i tried to have the dealership replace and they stated that although there have been many complaints it has not been recalled therefore they will not replace at no cost.the cost to replace one headlight is $800.00

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving various speeds, the headlights dimmed and failed to illuminate. In addition, the headlight assembly retained water. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

The headlights collect moisture and they only work intermittently, this has been going on for over two years and i was never notified of a recall,

11-21-17 after driving in the darkness of winter now i have noticed my headlights both right and left are very dim and har to see the road ahead. My bright lights work well and i use them when no other cars are coming head on. I thought is was my eyesight but started to investigate and saw hundreds of complaints on line. Have not seen any recall notices for this dangerous headlight fault. Auto headlights are dim when driving.

My headlights are dim. I cant drive it after dark. Very dangerous.

Moister completely filled passenger headlight assembly so it failed state inspection.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving approximately 65 mph, both front headlights were dimly lit, which made it difficult to see the road and traffic ahead. The vehicle was taken to chevrolet of turnersville (3400 nj-42, turnersville, nj 08012, (856) 516-6100) where it was diagnosed that the parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.

I have several recalls that were not done to my vehicle. I moved around alot and when i asked the dealer, they said no. I found out that i paid for some of my recalls including the latest one with my headlights/ headlamps.they have been an issue for many years with water, moisture, the dealership said wear and tear , not so, faulty from all the complaints world-wide. I had purchased my vehicle straight up from the dealership in 2011. I have been the only driver and owner of my vehicle. Can you please help me recover all the recalls for my vehicle so my car can get fixed. Thanks again in advanced.

My headlights randomly build up condensation which causes the headlights to go out unexpectedly. This causes a safety issue especially when driving in the dark. It's also illegal to drive without headlights. There was a class action lawsuit in california regarding this very issue.

The driver side head light is significantly dimmer than the passenger side making night time driving almost impossible.we replaced the bulb with top of the line one, and when that did fix the problem, we returned it to the dealership to have them service it. We picked the car up after they also replaced the bulb but they said for us to call a cadillac dealership to further help us. The cadillac dealership confirmed there was a recall on my exact model and infor.ed us that we should be receiving a letter in the mail with further instructions, but we as of today, have not received.

Right headlight fogging and condensation within sealed beam infog, rain and snow conditions.

The headlights are very dim causing dangerous driving conditions

Headlight assembly developed condesation and light failed

Low beam headlights dimmed. High beam headlights failed completely. Moisture build up in headlight housings apparently impacted electronic headlight controllers.auto dealership estimates approximately $2000.00 to repair.. Replacement of both headlight bulbs produced no difference in light output.bulbs that were replaced appear to be fully functional. Mechanic at firestone auto care facility states that 'headlight housing unit appears to have defective seals allowing moisture in and remaining inside the housing damaging controllers'.

Having issues with the headlight getting condensarion inside, it usally take a few days for this ro dry out.

Bought the 2011 srx in 2018. Immediately had to have the entire passenger side headlight assembly replaced because of moisture intrusion. Now 6 months later the same problem has appeared in the drivers side headlight. Visibility at night is badly compromised. Repair is very costly.

Hid headlights keep filling with condensation and burning out. Dealer wants over $1800 to fix...for headlights!

The headlights quit working when i was driving during the evening rush hour.lights worked when i turned the engine off through the lighting safety delay so i know the headlights are okay. There is so much moisture inside the headlight lens that i'm sure this is a moisture problem.this car is a piece of junk and gm should be ashamed for not providing owners relief especially when these cars cost so much.can't believe there isn't a recall on this problem.this is just one of many issues with this car.

There is water getting into the lights in making them [xxx] and not work very hard to see at nightparts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My headlights have developed a film making it difficult to see at night

Moisture accumulation in headlamps and causing them to go very dim, have to drive with them on high beams because i can't afford to pay out of my pocket by may 28, 2020, and wait on refund, and it cost more than the settlement letter will allow! that is simply not right!!!why should we have to pay out of our pockets and loose money on a problem that gm has known about since 2010 and done nothing about until they are sued and then they are still not truly rectifying the problem for those who cannot afford to have it fixed nor pay out of their pocket for the difference it will cost them to have it repaired?this has affected approximately 300,000 cadillac srxs nation wide and gm is not willing to do a recall on their own!therefore some people are having to ride around i safely with their high beams on, in which could potentially cause an accident and injure or possibly cause death to themselves or others!!!gm should be made to do a recall to rectify this problem!!!!

The headlights when on dim are so dim you cannot see to drive.have replaced bulbs but doesn't help.dangerous to drive at night.

The headlight is defective and has water in the headlamp unit cause extremely low visibility which is very dangerous as it appears that one is driving with no lights at all.

Water is getting into the head lights on both sides of my car

My 2011 srx needs to have the front passengerheadlights replaced due to water in itcompletely out and nowthe driver side as well is having condensation and water leaking. So i now have to have two headlights replaced. Headlight outage was noticed driving home on highway and noticed car is not lighting up the highway properly.

My cadillac 2011 headlights when dim.first i changed the light bulbs thinking that that would solve the problem but it did not.i then took my car into the dealer to check to see why the light bulbs did not fix the problem.they in turn told me that i would have to replace the entire headlight in order fix the dim lights.i was also told that the lights going dim on the cadillac srx is a flaw in the system.this is an unsafe condition whereas you will need to drive with your high beams until the light unit is replaced as you can barely see in front of you.

Constant moisture in the headlamps cause serious vision issues when lights are on dim.lighting is obstructed and visual of the road is seriously impaired.the dim lights are not functional with consistent moisture. There is a current lawsuit involving other gm vehicles for this very reason.a recall needs to be issued.

Vehicle headlights dim

The factory low beam headlights on this car pose a safety risk for everyone on the road. You can barely see anything on the road with the low beam headlights on this car. The high beam headlights work perfect, but the low beam headlights are dangerous. I've seen many people that drive this vehicle have the same problem. I believe a recall should be put into place due to this problem originating from the factory.

Mosture/condensation in passenger headlamp assembly, caused reduced illumination and failure of the lamp and supporting electrical assembly

Visibility is dangerous when headlights are on low beams.it appears as if you are driving with your lights off- major safety hazard- very dangerous!!was almost hit head on because driver did not see my vehicle.

Headlights go dim to almost all the way off have changed bulbs twice, after a couple of weeks lights go dim again

My headlight assemblies would get condensation and cause the bulb to become dim or burn out. Had to replace bulbs several times but still difficult to see 20 ft in front of me when driving the dark roads in north west new jersey. Was told it was a known issue and to drill holes in the back of the headlight, which i did not do since i didn't want to damage the assemblies. The cost to replace both assemblies would have cost me at least $2000.00 or more which i did not have. I replaced the assemblies with aftermarket ones and had them installed by my mechanic. I than received the letter from cadillac that they would reimburse us. I filled the paperwork and sent all the documentation.never hear back for months so i followed up and was told i was missing the vin # on the receipts. I resubmitted the documents with the vin # and again waited. Made 2 more calls one said it was bring processed and should get a check in 90 days the second told me it was still being processed.waited again for my check and still nothing 2 more phone calls and the second one has now said it was declined. When i ask to speak to a supervisor i was told there was no one there. I asked for a phone # to call someone and again was told there was no # to be given. I kept trying to speak to someone and finally the women told me she was done with our phone call and hung up on me. I don't know what or who to speak with to get this resolved. I am out $1000.00 for a know safety issue.if i hadn't replaced my headlight assemblies i would not be able to drive my car at night. Please contact me and assist in any way possible.thank you for your time and consideration in helping me

Headlights went out at 70mph i -95 curblost controlalmost kill entire family.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that moisture was accumulating in the front passenger's side headlight lens. As a result, the light became so dim that it looked as if only one headlight was activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage on the vehicle was 67,511.

Head lights are dim at night while driving you can't see very far ahead which makes it dangerous to drive at night. You have to use high beam to be able to see. We have replaced the lights and it's not any different. It's scary driving at night. Something needs to be done. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents.

Low beam headlights have dimmed to the point of not feeling safe to drive at night.

The headlight assembly seal is very weak and shorts out the entire headlight. Its $1500+ to replace and it appears that gm is just going to ignore this problem. My car that i am still paying for has to stay parked because i cant afford to fix this headlight.

Suv low beam lights don't illuminate the roadway.driving from florida to maryland, i was unable to see the roadway markings unless they had reflective strips.rainy weather makes it impossible to see at all.oncoming headlights make staying on the roadway nearly impossible.this defect causes the driver to use high beams making it dangerous for oncoming traffic.

Vehicle headlamps went out totally within 2 days after moisture and condensation appeared behind protective clear sealed covers.left side went out while vehicle was in motion, right side was out when i arrived for service the next day.i was charged $1354.47 by cadillac to replace all components on each side, including new clear covers and seals.i checked online and this is a known issue.when i picked my vehicle up from cadillac dealership, there were several cadillacs lined up, all with moisture behind the clear lens covers.i could not drive my vehicle at night until this repair was completed.

Headlights on 2011 cadillac srx are constantly filling up with condensation. This causes uneven headlights and reduces visibility put driver and passenger at risk of undue injury including death.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving at various speeds, the headlights failed without warning. The contact stated that condensation entered the headlight unit and caused them to fail. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000. The vin was not available.

I have a 2011 srx that has 78,000 miles on it. The headlights are not sealed properly and water leaks into the headlamp assembly. The water has caused the headlights to be so dim that i can barely see at night. It's like driving with flashlights. I took it to the dealer and they wanted $1400 for new lights. I called gm to see if they would assist with this outrageous amount of money for new headlights and they refused any assistance. The said this was a normal maintenance item. I have been driving for 40 years and have never had my headlights leak and have moisture in them, so i disagree that it is a normal maintenance item.when i balked at the $1400 quote, the service department at the dealer suggested that they could drill holes in the outer cover and do a restoration cleanup of the light assembly. I paid $418 for them to do that. Just picked it up and there is still water in both lights.

Headlights very low. Can't see road at night . On coming vechicleshonk their horn at you cause they think your lights are off. Have to drive on high beams. Keep having to replace bulbs.

I purchased my 2011 cadillac srx on feb. 3, 2018 and since have had to replaced the entire headlamps assembly 3 yes 3 times within one month of having this car. Also had to replace back drivers side hub because the stability light came on after having it only 2 weeks. Can not seeing driving at night and gm needs to do a recall on these lights before someone gets killed because of it!!!!

The low beam headlights are to dim for night driving.i don't feel safe driving at night, it's difficult to see the road.

When driving at night my low beamsshinevery very very dim very dangerous to drive at night i looked online and other people are having the same problem with the same year make and model

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving various speeds, the low beam headlights illuminated at dangerously low levels. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact had to drive with the high beams activated. The vehicle was taken to sterling mccall cadillac (10422 southwest fwy, bldg b, houston, tx 77074, (713) 777-7151) where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The headlight bulbs were repaired several times, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact to call nhtsa to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

I am writing regarding my service airbag light.the light can on about 2 weeks ago. I had it check out by autozone and o'rellies auto storm. I was informed the it was the passenger seat pressure sensor and it have a recall on it.so when i call the cadillac place they tell me that i have no recalls at this time.so how do two places tell me i have a recall but cadillac says i don't. I really need this situation cleared. I drives my elderly parents around and i needs my car to be safe for me as well as for my parents. Please help. I'm having to many issues with cadillac. My headlight assembly for my car caused by condense in my passenger side headlight assembly. That's been out for about a year. So yes i'm having a bad time with my car. Don't get me wrong i love my carthis is why i'm trying to find help as well as answer regarding my vehicle.if you can contact me at [xxx]. I would really really appreciate it. Thank you so much have a blessed dayinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact heard a thumping noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to jba chevrolet dealer where it was diagnosed that the suspension failed and the head lamps were leaking. The suspension and head lamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number: 8/29942455009. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The passenger side headlight has a lot of condensation in it and restricts the amount of light being put out.the driver side also has moisture but not as much as the passenger.the passenger tail light does not work when the lights are on. No accidents that i am aware of.

The low beam headlights no longer work, making visibility poor while driving at night, so low it makes seeing anything in front of the vehicle difficult and may cause an accident. They were working and one day while driving home from my office i noticed they were no longer working, it was dark in front of the car.i checked the lights, they were on, however, the low beams were no longer operating.

The headlights on this vehicle provides no illumination when set on dim. We have to drive with our brights all the time. Absolutely can not see when using the dim setting. It is frightening.. It does not matter if vehicle is moving or sitting still...using the dim headlights provide the same illumination as not using any lights at all.

Headlight on low beams are almost worthless. Both headlights have filled with moisture over the last year compounding the problem. This is a "premium" automobile then they should treat them as such and repair the problem.

Low beam headlights, illuminate at dangerously low levels. It makes it very hard to drive at night making very dangerous driving conditions. To see at night, i often have to drive with my high beams on, which is very dangerous for oncoming traffic.

Gm headlight complaint:my headlights started clouding a couple years ago, followed by visible condensation inside the headlamp housing.i have noticed significant dimming to the point i need to drive with my bright lights illuminated to safely see - they are so dim that nobody can tell the brights are on! i was told by local cadillac dealer that the entire headlight housing must be replaced because not only is there condensation, it has caused the "reflective silver" inside the housing to dull which does not allow proper or safe reflection of the headlamp. I was advised "sorry, this is not under warranty" and because the entire thing needs to be replaced as it is one who piece, it will cost approximately $1400 for parts - not including labor.how can a 7 year old vehicle have headlight casing failure and "dulling of reflective silver unless the headlamp and headlamp housing is clearly defective from the manufacturer?i cannot afford to replace headlamps that certainly should not require replacement on a 7 year old vehicle.there should be a recall!

The headlights when on dim are very bad and visibility is next to impossible when driving at night or in bad weather. Also to add to the headlight issue the moisture that collect in the lamps are due to a faulty seal by gm and this needs to be fixed

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving 50 mph at night, the low beam headlamps failed to effectively illuminate the road. Upon engaging the high beam headlamps, the contact noticed a significant difference in the quality of lighting without the high beam headlamps. In addition, the contact stated that the visibility of the driver was impaired when the low beam headlights were engaged. A dealer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,000.

Low beam headlights are so dim you can't see at night. Already put in new bulbs. We just bought the car on 5/5/2020.

Low beams suck

The headlights - low beam - are the worst. I've been driving for over 40 years. When i complained to the dealership (crestview cadillac - west covina, ca) that they were so bad i believed it is dangerous to drive at night, they said they didn't get any complaints from other drivers!i have to use my high beams all the time to be safe.i have had passengers tell me i don't have my headlamps on!!it's a very real problem. I have found several complaint pages on line. I believe they shoulddo a recall on these cars and fix the problem.if i go to after market, i'm afraid ill nullify my warranty. Please help!

My 2011 cadillac srx has had very poor headlights since i purchased it. I have replaced the bulbs with the brightest halogen bulbs available with minable improvement. I tried led lights, they were terrible. What recourse do we have on this issue. I see on the internet that this is a ongoing complaint with this model of car. Please help!

Am now constantly driving with the high beam lights on as i almost stuck a small child crossing the street while trick or treating. These headlights on low beam are a hazard!

Extreme condensation and water intrusion of driver's side headlight assembly resulted in headlamp failure. Minor condensation and water intrusion of passenger side headlight assembly, but functioning. No warning of headlight bulb failure on interior instrument panel. Discovered while vehicle was in motion on interstate highway after dark. Very poor road illumination with only one functioning headlight. Needed to avoid nighttime travel until repaired. After reading complaints on nhtsa website and other cadillac forums, i purchased a oem headlight assembly at out of town cadillac dealership for the drivers side assembly, and had it installed at local gmc dealership. Mileage at failure 89,650. Repaired at 89,802. Purchased as a used vehicle at local auto dealership in march 2018 with 80,512 miles.

Very bad lighting of low beam head lights..cannot see lights on road

The low beam headlights are very dim. They do not reach out like they should. Dealer tells me that's the way they are,i do not feel they are safe!!!

The headlights never have worked right. From day one, they never put out enough light to see to drive at night. They come on, but you cannot see unless you turn on the brights.

Major driving impact diagnostic report 2 issues found fuel pump control p025a fuel pump control module qeuested mil ilumination p069e

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the front headlight assemblies were filled with moisture from the rain. As a result, the lenses were fogged, which made the headlight illumination very dim while driving at night. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 79,000.

My headlights are full of condensation. The lights are now so dim that i can only drive at night using the brights. So incredibly dangerous..estimate to repair is $1500.00

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the front driver side headlamp failed to illuminate due to water and condensation present inside the headlamp assembly housing. The cause of the water intrusion into the headlamp was not determined. The local dealer everette gmc/cadillac(19236 i-30 benton ar) was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Low beam headlights are very dim and dangerous to drive at night.sunroof leaks water, third brake light out and back up camera stop working.

] leaking headlights! (water, condensation, moisture, etc)

Drivers side headlight contains moisture which shorts out the ballast and ignitor and blows the hid headlight. There is not a proper seal on headlight and cadillac knows this.they have been recalled in florida, california! in wisconsin the same issue with moisture. I have replaced both sides 7 times. The car dealer refused to fix. The cadillac dealer also will not acknowledge the problem either. At any moment they just stop working when driving on highway at night. This can cause an accident because oncoming traffic can't see you. A safety issue. Let alone rain, fog and snow driving are issues if they just can go out because they are faulty.

I've had my car for a little over a month and honestly cannot see anything with the headlights. When i flip them over to brights, they illuminate the roadway perfectly.once i go back to normal lighting, nothing is lit.i've pulled over a couple of times to make sure the lights were actually on and nothing was covering the headlights.i am very afraid that an accident will occur because i can't see the roadway in front of me.please advise if this is being looked into.

Both headlights are dim even after putting new headlight bulbs in. One headlight has also accumulated moisture from the weather which has caused a yellow tint which also dims the lighting. I have to use my high beams to see turns which is dangerous for me and other drivers. The fact that i put new bulbs in and still can't see when i'm driving is a huge problem and i fear an accident could happen because of this fault.

Moisture in headlight assemblies due to seal failure

Headlights very dim, not safe at night, scared to drive.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the low beam headlights were very dim and he could barely see the road when driving at night. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Headlights are full of moisture and are very dim.

Low beam headlights are useless.they only light up one car length.i see others have complained also.we have the "luxury" model with the halogen lights.i see this as a safety factor. There was no accident, i just don't feel comfortable driving this car at night due the poor lighting.

The low beam light visibility has progressively deteriorated to the point where passengers have commented that i'd forgotten to turn on my headlights. There is moisture in the light housing. We've tried to replace the bulbs with led bulbs but visibility didn't improve. We've observed moisture accumulating over several years but were not aware it would effect visibility.i'm entering an exact date only because it's required to progress but i do not have an exact date.

Headlights constantly foggy on inside. Bulb brightness inadequate for night time driving. Dangerous!

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving approximately 45 mph with the headlights activated, the amber illumination became extremely dim which obstructed the visibility of the contact. The failure recurred whenever the contact would drive with headlights activated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to provide assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. Takata recall- my drivers side headlight went out.i went to have it fixed and the mechanic replaced the baullist.after approximately 10 days the light went out again.upon returning to the mechanic and some investigation i found that this is an unresolved problem with this make and model of cadillacs.the manufacturer is automatically wanting the consumer to replace the entire headlight assembly at a cost of approximately 1,300 dollars.most people don't have that lying around! it becomes a safety issue because the expense is keeping owners from immediately replacing the defective partconsequently causing people to drive without the proper lighting.please investigate this.i am happy to provide any necessary documentation as well as speak to anyone regarding this.this is an unfair practice from cadillac and will ultimately cost them business.it could even cost people their lives.

The low beam headlights are very inadequate for night time driving.it appears that the intensity of the low beams are the same as when they are used for daytime driving lights.the high beams function normally.i have tried to use the low beams in both the automatic and manual mode, still very low light.replaced both low beam bulbs to no avail.

I bought this car used about 2.5 years ago.since then i have had to replace the low beam bulb 7 times on both sides.even when i replace it within a week it is so dim i can hardly see to drive at night.the other morning i was heading to work and i had my high beams on but a car was flashing me so i thought ok i will be alright for just a second with that dim light but when i clicked it to low beam they were non existent and i almost ran off the road.this would have been bad as i was on a country road not heavily traveled.i did not know that they had completely burned out again.i love my caddy but this issue is dangerous and going to force me to get rid of it.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights retained rain water and failed to illuminate while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to dutton cadillac of riverside (located at 8201 auto dr, #101, riverside, ca 92504), (951) 842-2566), but was not diagnosed or repaired due to the fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

I noticed all of a sudden i could not see the road, switched to the high beam that's fine now back to low beam it's like i turned off the lights,my lights are on but not bright at all, driving with high beam much as possible hwy & city.

At night the headlights are so dim that it's very hard to see anything. The headlight assembly has moisture inside of it and it makes it hard to see.

After a rainy day, i got into my 2011 cadillac srx to head home from work. I was driving down the road when both headlights went out. Ii was lucky that i did not wreck or someone didn't hit me!!! i had this diagnosed at a certified cadillac dealership and the problem is faulty seals on the light assembly housing. It will cost 2959.90 to get this problem fixed, however in reading on line, the replacements aren't any better than what i have on it right now.

The low beams on my suv went completely out as i was driving early one morning out of my neighborhood! i noticed that it was unusually dark and thought that a street light was out, but i soon discovered that it was my headlights that were not working.i am unable to drive my car at night or before the sun comes up because i have no lights.i can only use the high beams. I need to be able to drive my car when it's dark. This is a serious problem and the gm should do a recall to repair this defect at cost to the consumer because they are totally aware of this issue and have been for years.there is an issue with the sealant and it's allowing moisture to get inside of the headlights causing the lights to go out.

Low beam headlights are very dim, to the point of hardly being able to see the road. I've replaced the bulbs with no help.

While driving my vehicle on the highway i had a hard time to see the highway & the panel on my dash came on saying my right low beam lamp needed to be checked. I drove home very carefully & parked my car. The next day j brought my car to see about getting the lamp fixed & they told me i needed a whole new light assembly. I've read in the internet that hundreds if not thousands of people are having this same problem in their cadillac srx 2011. I think if that many people are having these problems there should be a recall in this make & model car. It will cost over $1400 to fix it. They said there is condensation/water which caused it to go out its. It sealed correctly

Low beam does not produce enough light to safely drive at night.high beams are fine.have replaced bulb but does not work.very dangerous driving at night

Head lights full of water

Headlights fill up with condensation and prevent driving at night or weather with decreased visibility because they don't work.

My headlights are dim and have moisture in them. The vehicle is unsafe to drive at nighti cannot see at all using my vehicle when it's dark.

I bought the used car about one month ago. I was extremely happy with the car until i had to drive it one night.it was like driving a car at night using one 6 volt battery operated flash light forr the low bea m head lights.. After reviewing the massive on line complains, i call cadillac direct and ask for help. They suggested i take it to a gmc dealership in mckinney texas. I was told they could repair 100 percentfor $,890. I agreed and paid and left the car for an entire day.the car was returned that evening and i drove it that night with no improvement what soever. They is no way this car could pass a texas safety inspection. I am a heart and lung andkidney patientand my wife drives me and its raining some days and dark early evening now and this is a dangerous vehicle! you can't see a thing and no onecansee you at all!! what makes our vehiclemore dangerous , its black and no one can see us at night or bad weather!! we need your help terribly before there's a tragicaccident!!! d

The left and right headlight assemblies retain moisture or condensation thenthe lights fail to come on for night time operation causing local law enforcementto pull me over.

When driving at night with lights on dim you can barely see anything. In order to be able to see anything lights must be on bright, if meeting another driver this makes for a possible hostile interaction as the approaching driver is blinded by the brightness of lights. I took my car to shop only to be informed it is a defect with this model vehicle starting with 2010 models. I was told the price starts at around $1000.00 for a replacement clipwith the probability that lights will do same thing😯. Lights are not blown but instead it is a defect of manufacturer. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Night driving is a must for some of us and the feeling of not being able to see very well with lights on dim or making other drivers mad and possibly resulting in an act ofroad rage makes us feel very unsafe. I have been a cadillac driver all my life and feel this should be addressed as soon as possible . We should not be held responsible for trying to fix something that in all honesty is not our fault and will only result in spending money that is only going toward a temporary fix still. Please make this right.

The low beam headlights are extremely dim, unable to drive safely at night at all. I have replaced the bulbs, but there is not enough power going to the headlights. I think this is due to faulty headlights that allow moisture to get in and have damaged the lighting housing.

My headlight assembly holds condensation and my lights are dim. Occurred driving at night.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights failed to project enough distance light. A certified mechanic replaced the bulbs; however, the failure occurred. The certified mechanic was unable to remedy the failure. The contact called the dealer who informed the contact that the entire headlight assembly, including the high beams, needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

Headlight failure - replaced one side for 1400.00 now have to replace other side contacted cadilac and was told it was not covered. I own a 2010 srx bought in florida and it is covered. This is a safety issue that gm should be accountable before innocent lives ars lost due to failure of headlamps

Moisture buidup in both of my headlights and made it hard to see at night and iran off road .

Headlights are dim on low beam with condensation present inside housing. Very dangerous nighttime driving. Must use high beams in order to see to drive which also creates very dangerous driving conditions in the face of oncoming traffic. Have also had rear axle repaired which appears to be a very common problem with cadillac srx models

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger side headlights did not illuminate brightly due to moisture within the headlight assembly. The contact took the vehicle to the original unknown local dealer where they removed the headlights and added a protective coating; however, the remedy failed. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer (thompson buick gmc cadillac, 2600 wake forest rd, raleigh, nc, 27609) to be serviced for a separate recall and the contact informed them of the moisture in the headlight. The dealer stated that the moisture caused a film and the diagnosis would be to remove and replace the headlight structure reseal. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 83169952152. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to be diagnosed. There were no open recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

Dim lighting due to burned out coating. These headlamps were replaced and the problem persists. This noticed when driving at night.

The oem headlights are a driving hazard, extremely dangerous and unsafe.there are several posts on-line, describing the same problem.the seals of the headlights allow moisture into the headlight assemblies.this causes bulbs, harnesses, and diodes to burn up.i described the incident to cadillac, they really don't have a responsible response.

The headlight seal is leaking allowing water to enter.i've replaced 1 and now the other 1 is leaking

Moisture continues to enter the headlights causing the bulb to short out and creating dangerous driving condidtions. Dealers want $1000 to replace the headlamp assembly

Low beams have been noticeably dimmer over time.high beams a bright. Low beams seem dangerous.

Front headlight assemblies are defective and allow condensation to build up behind lens causing headlights to be less effective and eventually short out electrical system.this condition has occurred twice (on both front passenger and drivers side) since i purchased this vehicle in 2014, most recently while driving home on the highway at night nearly causing an accident.these defective headlight assemblies are very dangerous and should be addressed, via a recall, by cadillac asap.an internet search on this issue revealed hundred of similar complaints and i suspect cadillac is well aware of this defective part.

The seal allows moisture. The headlights burn out.

I was driving on east bound on m50 at night and i came to the lights of christmas display athidden lake gardens a part of michigan state university. As i approached hidden lake gardens iturned left into the driveway to discover that i had driven into the exit instead of the entrance a fewfeet down the road.there was no accident, just a few words from those exiting as to my stupidity, whichwas really a fault of the poor illumination of my headlights on my cadillac.this car has the poorest quality low beams of any car i have ever owned in the last 40 yearsi could notuse my high beams as i had traffic coming at me.cadillac maintains that the headlights are good, but the fact is they are inferior, they know it and willnot spend the money to correct it. I understand that you have to remove the front of the car to replace the headlights. In addition as you look at the car, you would think that it has the "hid" lamps in it as they made it appear that it has.the fact is it has a filament light bulb that has very little power.i would like you to address this problem from experts in the lighting industry and force cadillacto correct the problem.only two models are affected the "base"and the "luxury"the "performance"and "premium" model of the same car have the xenon "hid" headlights which are very powerful..

The headlights are both full of moisture and they keep shorting out and don't work allo the time.i called cadillazc dealer and they want $4500.00 to replace them.i can n ot get after market headlights.they have motors in them which move when car turns.i heard that there is a defect in in them an d gm has not said anything about it .not sure if this is gtrue or not but i can't see the price to replace them and im disabled ,retirfed and soun ds like the price is out of this world and feel like they are price gouging!!!! took them apart an d dried them out but moisture came right back in both headlights again.can not see any defects in lights but moisture is still getting in and causing lights not to work.been driving around with fog lights but i no this is not safe and something is wrong for both lights to fill up with moisture.cadillac dealer (hill cadillac in newtown square pa said they are not covered under extended warranty and car only has 50,000 plus miles on it and headlights fill up with moisture and short out.the price to replace them is outragious and heard that still might not correct it????

Low beams are too dim. When i'm on roads that do not have reflective stripes i can't see the sides of the road. This is particularly dangerous when approaching oncoming traffic.

I own a 2011 cadillac srx 66,000 miles, it has been in our family since it was purchased new at camargo cadillac. I took it in today for simple oil change and tire rotation.i was informed by phone that my headlight was out on the driver side, news to me.this car has a catastrophic defect in the headlamps and i am not the only one to experience it. There are numerousreports of this issue online, where condensation builds in headlamp and causes failure. Am i not suppose to drive my luxury vehicle in the rain or take it to the car wash?i first experienced this on my passenger side light in late 2015, light failed while driving and the whole headlamp had to be replaced. Now a year later we are going through the same issue with the driver side. I assume this will fall on deaf ears as no one wants to do anything to assist with this issue from dealers to gm customer service. 1300.00 fora new headlight assembly for second time on a car 6 years old, unheard of ! i have owned several vehicles at the age of 46, and have never had to have 1 let alone 2 headlight assembly's replaced. Gm has an issue and should own up to it ! .what was even more aggravating was the non-chalant attitude at thejeff wyler cadillac dealership and with gmcustomer service, as if this was normal and i was crazy.honestly take a pole of gm employees how many of them /or theirfamily members have had / and would be okay withpaying for 2 headlight assembly's replacements on their 6 year old luxury vehicle ?????

Headlights are so bad drive can not see unless high beams are on. Oncoming drivers can not see the auto at night. This is an accident waiting to happen. Was told by cadillac it would be $200 or more to replace the low beam lights. Almost collided head on into another car on the taconic parkway could not see where the road was at night

The headlight on this car will not work properly. Have had bulbs replaced twice. Dealership state seals are bad and need replaced. Charging over 2000.00 for this.there is water inside both headlights. The bright lights will work, but not the regular lights. What recourse do we have?

When using low beams it's like driving blind! you can barely see a foot in front of you at night. Must use high beams at night or risk your life due to lack of visibility due to discoloration/problem with lens covers!

Problem with moisture inside the headlight assembly. Dealer and gm refuse to replace because of prohibited cost.

Have had dangerous lighting level from low beam for long time. Have replaced the bulbs with led but no significant improvement. Remove the covers to keep the moisture from building up and then replace on a regular basis. Someone will have a serious accident with these lights. We dare not use the vehicle at night.

Head light fixture has moister in it. Not sure why. Covers almost half of the fixture. The only way to clean the inside is to take the entire frontbumper off of the car. Not an easy task and i'mdefinitely not a mechanic. Also low beams are very very dim. Can't see much at night without high beams on. Could be caused by the moister. Not in motion. Just over time. Hard to believe it would have went bad. I have saw multiple threads about this same problem. A vehicle flaw is what i would call it.

Water intrusion into headlamp caused ballast and bulb to short out.

The headlights are so soon they are unsafe, it's like driving without lights. I took the car to the dealer and was told they don't know what the problem is. I escalated theissue to cadillac customer service and have been getting no answer about what to do for over two weeks. It's scary and unsafe to drive at night so i don't.

In august 2018, i purchasedthis 2011 cadillac srx.after diving the vehicle at night i noticed how dim the low beam headlights are.it is extremely difficult to see on unlit roads and very dangerous as other drivers have a difficult time seeing me as well.i resorted to using my hi-beams.after these incidents i inspected the headlights and found that both lights have accumulated condensation in the interior.i consulted the owners manual which honestly didn't help much.i have since research this problem on line to find this has been an on going problem since 2010.as a maker of luxury vehicles cadillac should correct this dangerous problem.

My 2011 cadillac srx with defective headlights on dim setting. The visibility is very very poor and unsafe to the point of where i can't drive at nite. I replaced the bulbs with the most expensive bulbs that i could buy and did not help at all. I feel that this is unsafe for my family and i to be driving at night. I can't drive at night with my high beams on at night blinding people or getting pulled over by police. The only option at the dealer is to replace the headlight assembly with the exact same headlights that i have now and having to pay for another defective headlight is ridiculous. The vehicle has projection headlight for low beams. Projection type is way out dated and why would cadillac use that kind of headlight. I found out the the first nite i drove it i came within inches of hitting a person on a bicycle. If my son hadn't been with me i would have never seen the person.this is definitely a gm screw-up and they should make it right for the consumers and before someone gets hurt or killed which i almost experience with person on bicycle. I should not be limited to only driving my car in the daylight hrs. This is very stressful when you have school activities in the evening hours and trying to hurry to get home before it gets dark.it takes me almost 2 hrs to get to my mother's and now i can't even drive and spend time with her because of thesedefectiveheadlights. I hope gm fixes this problem and i hope they understand the severity of this.god forbid if something were to happen to me or my family i hope that my family or i would make sure gm was held accountable for the defective headlights. It really disgust me bout cadillac now. Cadillac was suppose to a luxury car but now i am limited on when i can drive it.

Headlight assembly on driver side is faulty, replacements from gm are not guaranteed. After replacing numerous bulbs at owner expense, bulb will dim, or burn out leaving driver in a dangerous situation at night.

Driving lights went dull.the lense and reflectorturned yellow.we had to replace both lights.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that the headlights were extremely dim, which made it difficult to see the road while driving. As a result, the contact was unable to see a cinder block when attempting to make a turn at approximately 5 mph. The contact crashed into the cinder block. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was not towed and a police report was not filed. The contact sustained injuries to the back and head, but medical attention was not needed. Faulkner cadillac trevose (located at 4447 e street rd, trevose, pa 19053, 866-722-7910) stated that the passenger side corner panel and front bumper of the vehicle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer regarding the headlights. The dealer diagnosed that the headlights were too dim due to condensation build-up and the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 9/569386975. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000. The vin was unknown.

I have moisture in my headlight. The ballast and ignitor have friend from the moisture. Apparently this is a common fault and gm refuses to do anything. A class action suit needs to be refilled against them for their shoddy workmanship of their headlights.

Headlights will turn off sporadically while driving. If manually turning lights off then back on, headlight will work again.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While driving at various speeds, the low beam head lamps failed to fully illuminate and diminished the contact's visibility. General motors have agreed they have problems with issues of moisture accumulating in their headlight capsules on 2010-2015 srx's. Gm has agreed only to reimburse customers in ca and fl due to suits brought against them by these 2 states. I called gm and was advised my vin # was not on the reimbursement list because it was made in ca or fl.i have paid a total of $2030.22 to have my headlights repaired from moisture. The first one was covered under warranty, so only had to pay $473.22 on 10/07/15. The second one was replace 8/4/2017 for $1,557.00.

This has happened 5 times within 1year when i put on the breaks it goes to the floor. Have suv inspected and they bleed the brakes. Last time brakes go to the floor after i shut down suv breaks resetthem selfand are tight again.

2011 cadillac srx has extensive banging noise in rear of vehicle. Dealer saysnoise is due to gas tank "slosh" and gm engineers are at work on the problem.is this "sloshing" of the fuel dangerous?

Major driving impact diagnostic report 2 issues found fuel pump control p025a fuel pump control module qeuested mil ilumination p069e

The car takes a unexpected hesitation during acceleration on road or highway at any given time which is very scary

Driving down the road at 45 mph and engine dies.complete lose of engine power, steering and braking.has happened twice.can only imagine what would happened if i had been driving on highway at 70 mph. Did manage to manhandle the car to the side of the road.

I parked my 2011 cadillac model srx in the garage and walked away from it and closed my garage door.one hour later i opened the garage door and the vehicle rolled down my driveway and over a curb and hit a tree.the car was in drive.on a normal automobile there the driver needs to put the car in park in order to remove the key.this feature is pretty universal in every car i have operated.this feature is not incorporated in my new cadillac.it uses an electronic key that does that can remain in your pocket.there was no indication that i was leaving the car in drive vice park.if a child had been in my driveway this accident could have been much worse.the damages to my car were $2132.89 and the loss on 10 days use of the car.

I have a turbocharged srx. I was attempting to make a turn onto a road, as i hit the accelerator, the vehicle hesitated for a significant time, as if the transmission was disengaged. After a second or two, it suddenly engaged. Additionally, there have been times when i attempted to quickly increase speed, and felt significant hesitation. This is especially dangerous when pulling on to a road with high speed traffic on it, the vehicle is unresponsive to fast acceleration. Sometimes there is even a revving, and a sudden "bang" as the transmission engages. I spoke to the dealer on several occasions. I was told this dealership did not sell the turbocharged version of this vehicle because of this issue, and nothing could be done, but they were aware of it. The service manager indicated he had one other vehicle like mine serviced at his facility which had the exact same problems, but they could do nothing. Not sure of the percentage of 2011 srx's with the turbocharger, but i expect it is low, and was discontinued in 2012. Not having the ability to accelerate especially in front of oncoming traffic behind you is inherently dangerous.

Hesitation when excellarating. This is fery scary and dangerous, as when i pull out in traffic, hit the gas, and nothing happens forabout 3 seconds. I have taken my car to the dealership, and they claim nothing is wrong. But i know it s. My husband is a mechanic with the army, and he says that car is a death trap waiting to happen

Front struts making bouncing noise. On instrument panel it states service rear axle.i took my car into elco cadillac they told me i should replace struts every 60-70,000 miles ??????????aslo the service rear axle they claimed was the sensor shorting out.so they replaced rear differential clutch control module and solenoid. They said solenoid valve stuck.my cost $1400 the day i picked it up the same [xxx] message appeared (service rear axle) ??????????????????? i brought it right back ?they have lost all of my trust !my car has only 77,000 miles on it.also they told me that nobody had the part. They checked all of cadillac throughout the usa and said they will try to locate one. Next thing i know they received the part but it came in broken?so they reordered from gm i don't believe much of what they say now. My car is over there probably so they can figure out how to remove the service rear axle code!parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

As i approached an intersectionwith a green traffic light a vehicledriving on thecrossing street failed to stop at red light and i had to accelerate to avoid beinghit and my vehicle failed to accelerate and almost got hit .

I noticed when car is on incline the transmission disengages and rolls back. This occurs when foot is taken off brake. The dealership noticed the same problem on other srx"s. Service manger claimed he informed gm headquarters and no solution is available. Updated 09/15/15*lj

2011 cadillac srx parked and turned off.however due to fact no alarm sounds to notify driver the car is not in park , car remained in drive and started to roll backwards while on a hill endangering the individuals exiting the vehicles.

I have been having issues with the acceleration of my srx, this problem mostly occurs when i am almost at a complete stop then i accelerate and nothing, it almost makes me think the vehicle has died. I can also feel a mild clunk when letting my foot off the accelerator. I have had the car in the shop and was told i needed to have the tcm reprogrammed, so i agreed to the repair. I can honestly say that repair did nothing to help the issue. I bought the car preowned and didnt notice the issue for about a month or so after the purchase. The issue seems intermittent, but when it does happen it is scary. Especially when pulling out into traffic and the car doesn't accelerate.

The vehicle hesitates when accelerating on highway at about 40 to 50 mph. Vehicle just stalls out when driving.

My 2011 cadillac on feb 8 @016 went put in park and went to get out of it jump in reverse i fell got try put in park in steal it went in to drive pull with car in car wash and i got pen between the door and car frame. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Pulled into get gas and could not put car in park or any other gear.car had to be towed to dealer.the exact problem was identified in 2011 and gm is stating that my vehicle is not a part of the recall when it is the exact issue.

The rear differential has failed. The warning light came on, so i took my car in to be checked. The part has been on back order for 3 weeks and i am now being told it will be 2+ more weeks before i will hear anything, along withall other gm customers in the country that are waiting for this part. I have been told by cadillac there is no specific date on its arrival. Should this not be a recall item if the part is not available for this long? i am not sure how many people are waiting for it as of yet. I am trying to find out with little help from cadillac.

The 2011 cadillac srx stalls when trying to pull off from being a stop sign.it does not accelerate appropriately.it stalls.it could be a major issue when driving on the interstate or pulling out into traffic from being at a standstill.it is like the transmission stalls and does not change gears.this has happened on several occasions.

I have noticed slow shifting to higher gear almost from day one. It is most noticeable when driving down hill and approaching red traffic light and decelerating, then light turn green and i want to accelerate and i notice hesitation ( disengagement ) to a degree that my upper body actually moves forward. That hesitation or delay is dangerous when i am entering expressway and i need to accelerate quickly, to escape fast approachingsemi-truck. I mentioned that issue to the dealer i purchased srx from and my regular servicing dealer but each time i am told that is the way this transmission is. With re-call involving 2013 srx for this problem, i believe previous models 2-11 and 2012 should be included because it is dangerous at times.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. While the vehicle was engaged in park, it rolled backwards on its own and struck another vehicle. The contact was seated in the front passenger seat at the time of the failure. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained injuries to the shoulder that required medical attention. The vehicle was taken to doug richert cadillac (1900 sw topeka blvd, topeka, ks 66612, (785) 233-1361) for repairs. The contact was not provided any specifics regarding the diagnostic or repairs. The contact was not sure if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

Transmission shifting delay is a issue, continuously, from day one . I complainedto the dealer many times, nothing could be done. On a few occasions this delay made me pretty scary and dangerous. I know that there was a recall for 2012 and newer models for similar problem.

Transmission shift cable

The service rear axle comes up on the display after driving 5-6 miles. I took it into the dealer to look at and they said there were leaks of the axle fluid and a pump in the rear axle needed to be replaced. Total bill is $2100.

The contact owns a 2011 cadillac srx. The contact stated that while making a left or right turn the vehicle changed gears. The vehicle shifted from third to sixth gear when the contacts foot was taken off of the accelerator and also the vehicle would lose power while down shifting. The vehicle was responding as if it had no connection between the transmission and the engine.when the brakes were applied the vehicle also lunged forward because the gear shifted out of position. The dealer said that the failure was dangerous, but that was how the vehicle was designed. The contact was given a loaner vehicle while the dealer speaks to the manufacturer to see what could be done to correct the problem. The failure and current mileages were 700.

While driving my 2011 cadillac srx, awd premium edition with less than 1000 miles on the odometer i experienced this problem. Driving at interstate speed with the cruise control set at 74 mph. The transmission suddenly felt like it shifted itself into neutral, tachometer red lined at 6950 rpm, and i lost all forward drive. While still in auto mode with drive gear selected the vehicle had no response to throttle input. The vehicle began to slow leaving me in a very dangerous position of trying to get to the shoulder without getting ran over by oncoming traffic upon safely exiting the interstate i contacted onstar for an instant vehicle diagnostic. The tech instructed me that he was viewing 3 separate problem codes 1-motor, 2-transmission. After the tech advised me that i could drive the vehicle i choose to stay on two lane less traveled roadway to attempt to get to the dealer for a diagnostic. After two days the dealer contacted me to advise they could not duplicate the problem, they were in contact with gm powertrain division through out the repair attempt. The vehicle was returned to me after two days. After driving the vehicle for an additional two weeks with the same problem still occurring i again returned the vehicle to the dealer with the same complaint. After several days the dealer called to inform me that gm powertrain instructed them to remove the transmission, and transaxle assembly and return it to them, and that they would be replacing it with a brand new assembly.

While driving down the street just after exiting the freeway both side and driver airbags deployed and abruptly shut car off impacting my ability to steer and brake. No crash no accident no exterior damage

While driving my passenger's seatbelt came unlatched and flew open.it was not able to be latched again in the buckle.i feel this is a safety issue.if i were to get into an accident and that happened my passenger would have been injured.

Passanger airbag defective. Service airbag light comes on.also a knock in front wheels at take off or backing up.

2011 cadillac srx with 20,000 miles on it had the entire wheel hub come apart.bolts fell out and the remaining bolts were all loosened.this problem ruined the caliper and brakes.i was lucky that i was not driving on the highway very often as i could have had a very serious crash.

Failing brake pedal . Brake pedal may not raise or seen struck down, hard to press. Took to repair shop replace brake pedal cost $1176. That corrected problem. Call cadillac to explained problem they explained my cadillac wasn't cover. But after reviewingthe ones show up with tsb number 2008,2009,2010,2012,2013,2014,2015 srx model had the same problem with brake pedal. I was driving about 65mph on highway when my cadillac drop down 40 speed due brake pedal problem almost causing accident. Lucky i was able pull on side of road

Brake pedal randomly goes to floor when trying to stop and vehicle loses brake pressure. The pads, rotors, and fluid levels are good. From my research online thousands of other people have had the same problem and some have been in accidents because of it. Gm has not issued a recall or give credit for repair despite being a huge safety concern. I hope this is finally recalled before more people get hurt.

When i hit a small bump in the road my brakes will go directly to the floor and i not able to stop. This has happened on numerous occasions. After having it checked by a certified mechanic they seem to be unable to find the problem.

Once you brake it stays applied , brake light stays on, the brake pedal does notraise once you brake but it stays applied, that way car does not get appropriate speed but it brakes itself.

This has happened 5 times within 1year when i put on the breaks it goes to the floor. Have suv inspected and they bleed the brakes. Last time brakes go to the floor after i shut down suv breaks resetthem selfand are tight again.

Brakes goes to the floor when driving. Could not stop.had to pump brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of me. Has happened more than once when driving on the street. Hit a bump in the road, brakes went to the floor.this concern has been reported to cadillac gm. Researched issue and other owners have the same safety issue.

When ever the anti lock brakes or traction control are activated the brake pedal goes to the floor with no or very little braking. This happens when stopping in the rain or snow and when the front wheels loose traction. After a few minutes of pumping the brakes the pedal returns to normal and the brakes work perfectly.no codes are displayed. I took it into my mechanic and he could find nothing wrong.i researched the problem on the internet and found 30 other complaints of the same problem.i went to john bear cadillac in hamilton ont. And they looked up my car and couldn't recommend a fix for it as the parts wen't produced any more.this is a 2011 year car and the srx used the same componets until 2016. The car is swaying back and forth at speeds above 50 mph on good roads. Had mechanic look at it and he said shocks were good and everything looked fine. After researching on internet i found that others had a problem with the rear toe link adjuster. So i looked at mine and found it loose but the nut has not backed off. I think it has rusted and is slipping in the threads. I can send a video showing how loose it is when i push it up and down. When you go through a puddle the steering locks up and you can't move for about 15 20 seconds this causes you to panic and is dangerous cause you can't straight out the wheel.

Driving down the road at 45 mph and engine dies.complete lose of engine power, steering and braking.has happened twice.can only imagine what would happened if i had been driving on highway at 70 mph. Did manage to manhandle the car to the side of the road.

I pulled out of a parking spot and then suddenly my car jolted to a stop. I had heard a snapping noise and the car wouldn't move forward or backwards. I looked at my tire only to find it was bowed in towards my car instead of away from it since the wheel should have been turned away from the car. Upon further review the tire rod had snapped. If the tire rod could easily snap as i was simply pulling out of a parking spot then it could have easily snapped while on the highway which would have resulted in injuries to myself and my child.

A few months ago i started noticing a loud noise coming from the rear of my vehicle.then my service traction control light, service stabilitrak light, service rear axle light, the stabilitrak malfunction indicator lamp all come on my display screen.i took my tires to have them rotated and the rear tires were unevenly worn i was told.the other thing that is happening is that my steering wheel does not stay going straight, it veers off to the right.

I was parked in a residential driveway and opened the rear liftgate to remove my son's hockey bag from the back.i was leaning in pretty far because the bag had slid toward the backseat, when the liftgate closed on its own.i had not pressed any buttons, no one else was in the vehicle or around.the liftgate hit me in the back and pushed me forward as it continued to close.i was pinned (with half of my body in the car and half out of the car) and the door was continuing to close.my left arm was stuck under me.i was eventually able to turn slightly and used my right arm and right hip to try to opn the hatch.it did eventually start to open.i was relieved and took a deep breath and then started to retrieve the hockey back when i realized it had closed again.this time was even worse as i was completely pinned.i tried to rotate and use my right hip again. I honestly though my car was going to kill me.the door did eventually open again and that time i immediately got out of the car.i watched as the hatch opened and then immediately closed again.(thankfully, without me in it this time.)i immediately called my dealership.they made an appointment for me in one week, so i did not use the hatch again.i also called gm customer service as i was very concerned that this could kill someone.the agent said she had never heard of this happening.i later found out that this has happened frequently and that the right strut in my liftgate would be the problem.sure enough the dealer confirmed the problem and repaired it at my expense.now, gm has passed me from agent to agent and has done nothing for me.they said that i "have an obligation and responsibility to ensure that the subject vehicle and its related components are maintained and preserved in their immediate post-incident condition.." i had it fixed becasue it would be irresponsible not to.

Automatic rear door opened after i closed it; consequently i unknowingly rammed in to the garage door as i backed out of my garage and afterward it continued to open as i tried to close it.this is not the first time this has happened.a few months ago on vacation the bell hop was helping to pack my luggage and the door kept trying to shut on him (3x), it nearly crushed him.this recent incident did serious damage to the vehicle and minimal damage to the garage door.

The headlights collect moisture and they only work intermittently, this has been going on for over two years and i was never notified of a recall,

This car has a failure in the orings around the headlights causing them to fill with water and make visibility low. There is also a failure in the backup camera it seems almost all owners have to replace it after only a few years. There is also a failure in the stability sensor from the wheel bearing having a faulty bearing causing you to lose power while driving and very dangerous, only have issued a service bulletin #pic5428g

Last year , just after my warrantywas over, i noticed a pant bubbling(rust ) on the edge of the hood. Dealer wanted$200 to fix it. My car is 6 years old (60000 miles ) now and is spotless otherwise. I am very disappointed with rust showing up.

The tail gate will open when the button is pressed but unexpectedly falls striking anyone in the head when putting something in the back end or taking out of the backend. Because the struts fail that hold the gate open.this is the same type of recall as 15v415000 that was issued 6/30/2015 for the gmc acadia, chevy traverse, saturn outlook, buick enclave that was manufactured during the same period as the srx. This started last year but the dealer said i would have to take care of it even though it failed fairly early in the cars life.

2 problems continue to persist. One is the location of the hood release handle near the floor inside left side, where the driver puts his left foot on the floor while driving. Moving the foot back, the leftsole edge will catch the handle and release it causing the hood to pop up to the safety catch.at high speeds i'm afraid of the safety catch failingallowing the hood to pop open causing an accident. Secondly; this vehicle has too many blind spots that can easily cause a serious accident. The roof post between the drivers door and rear passenger is a good example of what i mean. A vehicle can be almost along side of you, out of site and you wont see it unless you turn your head around almost looking backwards.the mirror does not pick up the vehicle until it's nose is by my door. That move creates anotherproblem of hitting some one up ahead. I have not notified the dealer because i don't expect they will do any thing; from past experience i know. Car was purchased at otto cadillac albany, ny.

Lift gate failed to open.according to warranty company water leaked from the sunroof from the drains onto the liftgate motor and shorted it out.it was not covered by the warranty because it was considered water damaged.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Rear suspension over the smallest drop in pavement smoothness causes heavy noise which feels like it's bottoming out, the noise is extremely loud and disconcerting. All passengers so far have commented on it.cadillac says this is normal (the bottoming out sound)this is definitely not acceptable for a car of this cost.it's driving me up the wall waiting for the next bang !!!

If you want to see what a part looks like "before the accident" please contact me tomorrow, april 12, before i get it replaced. We are afraid to drive it. You need to see it as is because this is exactly what you are investigating.

The service stabilitrak light comes on frequently, the transmission will feel like it is not engaging & @ times the car will have pre-ignition when attempting to turn off the engine.

Problems with completion/documentation of two recalls:my dealer (hendrix cadillac, durham nc) claimed today, 14 nov 2014, that they had already resolved nhtsa recall 14v571000 (gm 14457) on the rear suspension of my car on 02 oct 2014.however, i only got the recall notice in early november, when gm's letter said that parts wouldn't be available until at least 10 nov 2014.(report date is late sept 2014.)on 02 oct 2014, the dealer had told me they had that day resolved nhtsa 14v447000 (gm 14271) on the front seat adjusters of my car.today the dealer tells me thatrecall is still pending for lack of solution, even though the report date wasjuly 2014.have they mixed up the two recalls?i am concerned that my car is not safe.

Passanger airbag defective. Service airbag light comes on.also a knock in front wheels at take off or backing up.

The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

I had a blow out on the ohio turnpike. It was at that time i first came to know cadillac no longer provided spare tires as standard equipment. There is a pump included which is useless in the case of a blow out. The issue is how can cadillac be allowed to sell cars with out spare tires. It is obviously a safety device that should be mandatory.

I was involved in an accident, i ran into a vehicle the damage was to the front of the car . The airbags didnt deploy or the sensors of the front of my car did not go off either.

My 2011 cadillac on feb 8 @016 went put in park and went to get out of it jump in reverse i fell got try put in park in steal it went in to drive pull with car in car wash and i got pen between the door and car frame. Plus in car wash it crush me went the arm of car wash pen me between the arm on car wash and my door an frame of the car. I contact gm motor about this and they said pay medical and to have car fix. Now they said no. Itnot there fault.why did i go to all trouble to get medical number tell me the going pay.

I did this in my last car (gm-yukon) so i re-enacted to see if it would happen in my new car (srx): i use my key fob to open only the hatch-back when walking up to locked car.i lay my purse (with key-fob and cell phone in it) in the back while unloading groceries, etc., and then close the hatch. I am locked out of the car.the car doesn't chirp to let me know the key-fob is the car after closing as it does when i close the doors up front while unlocked. I think this is a safety complaint because i could be locked out at night in a parking lot without a phone or money for a pay phone to call for help. I also think that key-fobs should have a hole in the car to plug it into. Women tend to keep keys in purse, not on their body.

The trunk of my car is not accessible. One day the key fob stopped working. The button on the door gives no access as well. I've heard there was once a recall on this issue but it has expired. I have no access to my spare tire!! how can a recall expire!

Head lights get moister in housing and fill balast up with water sorts out head light safty hazard

My drains for my sun roof are not working, water all on passenger floor, mechanic said there was a recall on this some years ago and was wondering if the recall was still active

Air conditioning system is not cooling properly.passenger side is somewhat blowing cool air and driver's sideisblowing hot air.this is the exact situation that resulted in a recall of 2011 cadillac srx.however, this cadillac srx was not initially included in the recall and has not been to-date.the safety recall notice is 11057; federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 103.this could potentially cause a serious problem in the winter months when the defrost may not work properly.it is obvious from our research that this vehicle should have been included in the recall as it is the exact same situation as those affected by the recall.we have contacted gmc only to be told that the recalls are very specific.we have tried to explain this situation but have been told that we will have to deal with the selling dealership.however, this is a gmc situation, not a dealership problem.we are very concerned that a car manufacturer only recalls certain vehicles in a given year with a situation and leaves the other vehicles of the same year, make, and model on the road that they arbitrarily decide not to recall that are experiencing the same problems.

This vehicle has a design flaw with sunroof which leaks water into the car from floor board passenger side. Sunroof drain lines undersized even for a standard sized sunroof. As of result of this, the drain lines, at best are barely adequate for light rain and intense rain cloggs and rain enters the car. I have taken to dealer twice paid $651.00 repair and not fixed.dealer should have correct information to repair the drain issue. Cadillac of novi, service manager will not return phone calls. Very poorservice for a luxury product.

The hatch back door will open when you exit or enter thevechile on its on, sitting still

While putting groceries in the back of the srx the power lift gate came down without warning and hit me in the back. I was able to hit the button and open the gate back up. After about 10 seconds or so it came back down. It will not stay open.

My liftgate became inoperable. It was working fine since i've had the vehicle. Then we had a bad storm and for some reason water got thru the liftgate somehow and now has standing water in the well under the storage ara, as well as, in the storage compartment on the side. This water has now caused my liftgate to stop working because it flooded my liftgate control module. This is causing a big inconvenience because i can't use my liftgate, and have to spend money on something that is a known and running issue with this local vehicle.

Drainage tubes in cars with sunroofs are clogging and shorting out the lift gate module which could cause other electrical problems or possible a meltdown or fire..i bought one module and the dealership bought the second one this week. Since this occurred within the first 30 days i owned the car, luckily the dealership covered it. Cadillac refuses to admit the design is poor and will not help consumers with the costs associated with repairs (per the conversation i had with them today)if you look on youtube or other sites for cadillac owners, you will see how many srx's it involves.it's well over $500 to have this repaired depending upon the dealership/price of module/labor costs.please consider a recall.thank you.

The vehicle's sunroof drain hose material shrinks due to changing environmental conditions.this results in the drain hoses detaching from the dash or sunroof module.water leaks into the vehicle damaging interior components including wiring, electronic modules, the sound deadener and carpet.this happens every time it rains or through car washes.

While driving down the street just after exiting the freeway both side and driver airbags deployed and abruptly shut car off impacting my ability to steer and brake. No crash no accident no exterior damage

Cannot hear sounds when use turn signal level i.e. Should click...cannot hear radio, again sound issue,... Belt unfastened sound indicator does not work...door ajar sound indicator does not work.you cannot hear anything.typically stationary and in motion the sound indicators do not work turning any direction and driving on highway or city streets same issue occurs.since this is summer no idea if weather is a factor.occurs whether car is on, stationary, or moving.

Water is getting into the head lights on both sides of my car

Left gate will open from any tke key ot inside or the latch with touch

Rain water drains in car after every rain and water drains into the car after going through a car wash.i went to dealer about this problem while car was under warranty. They said there was a recall for this problem and when i picked up the car they said they fixed it.soon after thatthe problem was back and has only gotten worse.my car smells moldy, the backup camera has quit working, the bluetooth module stopped working and i'm constantly vacuuming water out of this piece of junk car.this is a serious moisture problem.i've gone back to the dealer and they want $400.00 to fix the leak and $1000 to replace the electronics. These problems are not of my making and after all the money i paid for this car you would think gm would take ownership of this problem.i shouldn't have to pay for a fix that i don't even know would be permanent based on previous repair.this problem has been ongoing for more than a year and is getting progressively worse. This is a hazardous vehicle to drive.

My service air bag and moisture in my right headlight the assembly is out due to the moisture in the headlight assembly. Causing me not able to see at night the cost is $1600+ tax. Who has that type of money like that. Cadillac need to have a recall on that and the seat belt.

There is water all over the floor of my 2011 cadillac srx luxury edition and its from the sunroof. The water got into my electrical and now my trunk won't open and the floors won't dry. The vehicle was parked.

This is a problem on all srx 2011 models.when raining, water drains into the spare tire compartment and shorts the motor that opens the lift gate.this happens on a brand new car, in other words, this is not a result of poor maintenance or a repair that is needed.so, if one gets a flat tire, in the rain, one cannot access the spare tire or the tire inflation kit, because the lift gate cannot be opened to access them.the power motor is the only way to open the lift gate - it cannot be opened manually by design.so, one can be stranded in a very dangerous situation, with the potential of serious injury or death.a stranded car, on the side of the road, potentially at night with poor lighting or road conditions, and other vehicles may crash into the car.i realize all flat tire situations have this potential problem, however, in this case, the danger of the situation is prolonged significantly, thereby significantly increasing the risk of injury or death.this is obviously a design defect which gm did not intend, and they must fix it immediately before someone dies, if someone hasn't died already.i am a recent owner of this vehicle, and this is my first flat tire with it, which is why i didn't know about this problem until now.

Experienced several instances of vehicle being very hesitant to accelerate which is dangerous when trying to enter interstate traffic.being told that this is just a characteristic of the type of engine is not a good or professional response.needs to be addressed by cadillac.

Sometimes when accelerating it bogs down. Dangerous when you need pull out in traffic. Took it to dealership at least 5 times. They checked codes. Never could get it to repeat at dealerships.

The car takes a unexpected hesitation during acceleration on road or highway at any given time which is very scary

On highway going 75mph suddenly reduced power mode & service stabillitrak messages. Car immediately downshifted to 45mph which could've caused a major accident.tsb 14582a ' throttle body ' reduced power mode which states 'this special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership' exists, yet my dealer will not honor the extension on the warranty because my vin is not part of the tsb.

Defrost system when it is required it may decrease the drivers visibility and results in a crash.more or less it works when it wants to not when it is needed too

Low beam headlights, illuminate at dangerously low levels. It makes it very hard to drive at night making very dangerous driving conditions. To see at night, i often have to drive with my high beams on, which is very dangerous for oncoming traffic.

When using low beams it's like driving blind! you can barely see a foot in front of you at night. Must use high beams at night or risk your life due to lack of visibility due to discoloration/problem with lens covers!

Headlight moisture problems, when water gets into the headlight the headlight will no longer work until the water evaporate or dries out completely.

Windshield wipers stopped working while in rain storm. Motor was still running but the wiper transmission was disconnected from motor. My 2 year old grandson was in the car at time of failure. They were able to safely return home. This incident could have caused a serious accident.

3 of the 4 wheel bearing/hubs are bad.need to replace three.thought it was tires, but it is the wheel bearings.i have 114,000 miles on the vehicle and no power train warranty now.has been like this for 50,000 miles and thought it was the tires i bought because it started right after new tires install.

My srx has whining noise in the front drivers side front wheel when driving.

2011 cadillac srx with 20,000 miles on it had the entire wheel hub come apart.bolts fell out and the remaining bolts were all loosened.this problem ruined the caliper and brakes.i was lucky that i was not driving on the highway very often as i could have had a very serious crash.
