This concerns the airbag warning sencer light

The contact owns 2008 cadillac srx. The contact stated that after her daughter arrived home and parked the vehicle inside the garage, several warning lights started flashing on and of. Her daughter attempted to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle would not restart. The contact had the vehicle towed to the local dealer delaware cadillac (1606 pennsylvania ave, wilmington, de 19806) to be diagnosed. The failure was diagnosed as an issue with the air bag system. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts not being available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 153,000.

Service airbag sensor light came and stays on while driving, vehicle stalls and stops. Vehicle still running but will not drive or reverse. I was on a major street at a light intersection and almost rear ended by other vehicles. Towed to a cadillac dealer and they cannot figure out what the problem was. Still at the dealership.three weeks prior, the same vehicle had replaced rear differential bushings, and i started experiencing accelerating problems as soon as i left the dealership. I called to complaint and was told to return the vehicle back which i did not until now. Any correlation?

For the past few months our cadillac srx model year 2008 has experienced the passenger side airbag system being automatically turned off by the car itself when driving and a passenger is in the seat. Then it will come on of it's own accord. This happens repeatedly. My spouse weighs 120 lbs, sits normally in the seat. We have had the vehicle in the shop at galles and davis cadillac in albuquerque, nm and they can't find the issue with it. When the try to retrieve the codes, they say there aren't any. They have replaced everything in terms of seat covers, pressure plate, etc. But the one item i don't believe has been replaced has been the module containing the software program. They have found no shorts, etc in the wiring. I noticed that the 2009 cts cadillac (nhtsa campaign #08v582000, gm recall #08373) was experiencing the same problem we are and they were recalled for software upgrade to remedy the issue. Gm even brought in an engineer who stated there were no codes. He stated "off the record" that they were having the same complaint from many "asian" customers on the west coast (not my words, his) having the same issue with the same model as ours. He stated it was operating normally and it must be from the way my wife sits in the vehicle. We have video and pictures of the problem, the problem has even happened with the dealer technicians twice, yet the engineer and gm are telling us it is operating normally. The dealer is reluctant to give us the car back because they know it has not been corrected, but are being forced to by gm because of the engineer's determination of the vehicle operating properly. I believe our vehicle is experiencing the same issues as the 2009 cts and would like your help in determining that. We also believe based on the engineer's statement that we are not the only ones with the issue. We are getting no help from gm customer service center and request you investigate further. We were stopped at a traffic light, when the engine made a very loud, harsh noise and began racing at a high rev.even with brakes fully applied, we were propelled into the intersection; tried to jam the gear shift into neutral, but could not in time.we were struck from the left front and the vehicle was knocked onto the right side.minor injuries, treated and released at the emergency room.vehicle was totaled.

While exiting the i94 expressway at approximately 45 mph i ran over a bump and the side airbags both deployed with a loud noise and blocked my vision from both side windows.this could have caused an accident but i kept the car on the road and was only able to pull over by lifting up the curtains to see through the side windows.the vehicle suffered no damage whatsoever - confirmed by the dealer (tires and rims are fine) so the impact was not excessive.i believe that this is a very unsafe condition cause by a sensor that is much too sensitive.i also wonder why the side curtains were deployed when the jolt from the tire came from the front of the vehicle.cadillac is disputing whether this is under warranty and told me that i should make an insurance claim.the insurance company tells me that since there is no damage to the car other than that caused by the air bag deployment, the fault is with the manufacturer.the vehicle is still at the dealer - don gooley cadillac in st clair shores.

Leased vehicle from cadillac dealer in mobile al in oct 2007. Had problems right away gauges would quit working. Dealer said couldn't repeat problems. May 2008 moving to tx, while attempting to enter i-10 from rest stop, engine quit running, no power steering, or brakes. Managed to get off road. After 5 minutes started again. Dealers in la and tx couldn't duplicate problem. Car continued to quit running off and on. Batteries burned up on two occasions, technicians suspected bad harness but couldn't locate problem. Returned to al in 2009, took car to dealer told them to fix, replace or take back. They said couldn't duplicate so i left the car with them as an unsafe vehicle.the consumer stated he experienced problems with the vehicle rattling and the gauges not working.the dealer found the source of the rattle, which was an exhaust bracket that was not installed correctly, but could not locate the problem with the gauges, or why the engine stalling. Several days later, the vehicle would not start. It was determined the battery was dead.a new battery was installed, and as the consumer was driving, the gauges stopped working again.

While on trip to texas, we were starting to enter freeway from rest stop near slidell la, as we were accelerating engine died leaving us with no power brakes or power steering. Managed to pull car off road. After 5-10 minutes tried starting car, engine fired uo ok so commenced trip. Shortly after that all instrument gauges quit, pulled off highway to check engine, all ok so started on. Stopped at cadillac dealer in baton rouge, they could not find problem. Gauges stopped working several more times but no engine problems. Arrived in texas no further problems, however next morning car would not start, battery dead, called cadillac dealer (car was lease) they came out and replaced battery . Next day car stopped running while in traffic, again after 5 minutes was able to startup again. Took car in to dealer in grapevine texas they were unable to duplicate problem. Several weeks later, battery died again, plano cadillac dealer sent out technician and replaced battery again. These problems continued until we came back to our home in alabama. Same problems on that trip. Took car into dealer in mobile alabama were we had leased car and told them to fix it, replace it or keep it under state lemon law.

It was when i got acquainted with my cadillac cue and its blocky, glitched, slow,yet precisice directions; it has totally failed me while driving.one moment its telling me to make a left and the next intersection,then it told me that the map dvd, wasnt the map dvd and still has yet to read it's own map disc.

One sunday, i drove the vehicle to the grocery store, parked and couldn't get the keys out of the ignition and the vehicle would not go all the way into park. I took the car to the dealer and it was fixed but the key will still get stuck from time to time and i have to put the car in neutral and then slam it into park in order to get the key out of ignition.

The parking assist feature turns itself off, after starting the car and putting the car into drive. This occurs about 25% of the time. To re-energize this feature, the entire system must be put into factory default, and then re-entered.

Bought used..in idol will vibrate steering colum ..always signals to check tires and oil..

When driving home from a 2 hour trip in snowy conditions, the car started making a noise from the engine just as we pulled onto our road but no warning lights came on.we did not drive the vehicle and had it towed to the mechanic. The mechanic changed oil and filter and says he doesn't know what is wrong without going through the entire engine to find the problem.took it to another mechanic who said it is not keeping oil pressure, the camshafts are misfiring and he thinks the timing chain is an issue.they both said it needs a new engine and it has just under 85,000 miles.

When driving the acceleration is slow to pick up. The engine light came on and when i took it to get check the code p0008 came up. That's when you have an issue with the engine module detecting a problem with the timing between the crankshaft and bank 1 crankshaft.

At night i can't see out my window it's very dark and my headlights are very dim making it very hard to see at night. I have to put my high beams on to see. Also my strong is hard to turn when i'm trying to reverse or park but sometimes it's fine like their isn't anything wrong and when i'm when i'm driving it's fine. My horn and everything on my steering wheel stopped working all of a sudden. I went to my car in the morning to turn it on and my heated steering wouldn't work the cruise control no buttons worked plus my horn. On top of that i had my car re alligned because it kept feeling wobbly and it didn't work.

The failure mileage was 15 and the current mileage was 5400. Updated 04/16/08 the consumer stated the lights are factory set and sealed and can't be adjusted. The consumer stated fluid still leaking from rear differential. Updated 04/16/08

Leaving work i started the vehicle and drove approximately 1/2 mile when the engine light came on and the vehicle started pulling and shaking. I pulled over and turned the vehicle off for a few minutes. I started the vehicle again and it continued to do this so i took it to the dealer and the dealer told me it was the exhaust system and would cost 2300 to fix.

Event: while driving south on us 231 s (memorial pky) in huntsville al, transmission disengaged with engine still running. No prior warning symptoms-no sound-no vibration-no lock up-either some part became uncoupled or transmission "shifted" into neutral or some part failed such as input shaft. Was able to coast onto an exit ramp, but unable to move to far right shoulder for safety due to traffic volume. Came to stop about 50 yards south of intersection with martin road on a steep incline in 3rd lane of 4 lane exit ramp. Shut off engine and applied emergency brakes to prevent rolling backwards into on coming vehicles. Requested tow vehicle and police assistance to prevent rear end collision.vehicle currently in storage. Sliding metal sound when engine is started, then no noise. Faint grinding when transmission shifter in drive or reverse. None in neutral. Intend to have transmission-torque converter-ring gear-input shaft replaced as required or install used or factory rebuilt transmission and keep original transmission for forensic disassembly.quick inspection under vehicle revealed no obvious damage. No fluid leaks at scene or failure or at storage location. Transmission case appears free of fluid leaks. Drive shaft couplings appear undamaged.have owned vehicle only for about 8000 miles. Purchased from carmax july 2017. No known previous transmission repairs. Transmission designed without "dip stick" for transmission fluid level check. What is statistical data for 2008-2009 gm vehicles in general or other gm vehicles with same transmission.shifter on console. Parking pall still engages when in park position.sudden failure presents a definite safety risk. Had this happened about 3 miles sooner, it would have been even worse on i-565 5-6 lanes wide in "rush" hour traffic.77000 miles seems statistically very low miles for transmission failure.

This complaint is a continuation of complaint bin23-53927 and describes the findings of the transmission disassembly. Disassembly was delayed due to medical treatment unrelated to this incident. Transmission failed suddenly in high volume "rush" hour traffic. Torque was lost just before an exit allowing the vehicle to exit without power however the vehicle stopped in middle lane of a service road. On coming vehicles had to brake behind the vehicle. Sudden transmission failure in heavy high speed traffic presents a high risk of rear collision with multiple vehicles and injury. Furthermore, if the transmission fluid pump had not failed, the transmission could have lock-up or exhibited high speed down shifting, due to failure of other parts. This incident should not be dismissed because there was no accident or personal injury. Some mother with children could easily have a different out come on a crowded large city highway. No computer codes were displayed. 5lte-40 5-speed automatic transmission. Disassembly of the transmission revealed excessive metal particles and debris. The transmission fluid pump failed which caused loss of torque due to inadequate fluid levels in the torque converter. Clogging of the fluid "pick-up" filter also probably contributed to reduced fluid flow and failure of the fluid pump. A non-metallic washer was found to have disintegrated, allowing fragments to circulate in the transmission. The washer separated 2 splined drums. Disintegration of the washer allowed excessive movement and contact of the drums. Recommend gmc be contacted to obtain their comment on failure of these transmissions, as well as statistical review of incident reports to determine if failures are statistically greater than in the automotive industry, in general. The 5lte-40 and other transmissions have no traditional "dip stick" to measure transmission fluid level and contam

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac srx. The contact received notification of a customer service satisfaction campaign regarding a throttle positioning sensor. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated with the engine reduced power error message on the vehicles instrument panel. The vehicle taken to the dealer for a diagnoses, however the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal-positioning sensor had failed and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. ....updated 07/05/16

Differential leak.this is a recurring problem.oil leaks from the vent.it was repaired under warranty once and it has to be repaired again. The vent is a defective design and we now have not only our vehicle but many vehicles spewing differential oil all over. Gm could easily provide a better design vent but unless the nhtsa makes them nothing will happen.the tsb for this item obviously does not work as many owners are having this problem over and over again. Recall these vehicles so we stop leaking oil into the environment and possible cause expensive damage to our vehicles.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac srx.while shifting from drive into park at 5 mph, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward.the vehicle crashed into another parked vehicle, and eventually stopped 30 feet away.there were no injuries.through online research, the contact discovered nhtsa campaign id number 08v527000 (power train:automatic transmission) for the 2004 srx, which was identical to the failure with his vehicle.the vehicle is currently at the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 11,000.

Brakes failed completely. Fluid leaked from severely corroded brake lines. Luckily, i was on a 25mph rd near home. Barely stopped with full pressure on pedal. I was headed for highway and am very lucky it didn't happen there. Gm brake line corrosion is a scandal. 30 years in car business and i never saw this on any other car.

Brake line burst due to corrosion, line from master cylinder to abs modulator, during panic braking situation while driving in the rain.vehicle came within inches from rear ending a small car full of people.as a previous owner of a 2000 chevrolet silverado, of which i had a similar experience, and subsequently replaced all the brake lines with stainless steel, i have no faith in the nhtsa as a result of the "gm brake line investigation" which in my opinion caved to politics in order not to bankrupt gm.how many lives will be negatively impacted by injuries and death as a result of not having gm address the issue of using garbage materials for hydraulic lines?shame on everyone involved in the decision to chalk this up to salt corrosion. At the time of my 2000 silverado complaint, gm assured me that this would not happen to my 2008 cadillac srx.....silly me for believing them.i beg you to reopen the investigation.this issue is not impacting just pickups.

The brake lines on my 2008 cadillac have rusted through causing the brakes to fail, and cause other damage to the bottom line of the car.

He took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed him that both front calipers were worn. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where he was informed that the vehicle was outside the bumper to bumper warranty and the repair costs would not be covered. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 51,300. The current mileage was approximately 51,350.

The contact stated that his wife checked the rear passenger's side window to see if the window was rolled down. The window was not down. Several seconds later, there was a loud noise and the driver loss control of the steering wheel and the vehicle started spinning out of control. The driver attempted to regain control of the steering wheel while the vehicle was heading towards the guardrail. The vehicle crashed into the guardrail and spun out into the roadway. The contact stated that the air bags deployed. Another driver that witnessed the crash removed the driver from the crashed vehicle. The driver was placed in the vehicle of the other driver. There was smoke coming from the crashed vehicle. The driver sustained a dislocated vertebrae, hip and neck injuries which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to dutton cadillac of riverside located at 8201 auto dr #101, riverside, ca 92504, (951)842-2566 to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the passenger's side rear tie rod bolt fractured, causing the wheel to turn inwards at a 90 degree angle. The vehicle was released to the insurance company. The insurnce company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The insurance investigator stated that the failure was not caused by a mechanic failure. The contact was informed that his wife was at fault for the crash. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000. The vehicle was destroyed.

While in a locked garage overnight the middle glass panel of the sunroof shattered and tossed glass pieces all over the top of the car and the garage floor on both sides of the car.nothing had dropped or hit the roof panels that would have caused it to shatter.

Roll over and roof crushed causing severe spinal cord injury.

That did not remedy the issue and water continued accumulating in the vehicle.this has occurred three times and the dealerships has not been able to remedy the issue.the contact tried to return the vehicle and the dealerships refuses to take the vehicle back. The current mileage was 11,000 and the failure mileage was 54.

We were stopped at a traffic light, when the engine made a very loud, harsh noise and began racing at a high rev.even with brakes fully applied, we were propelled into the intersection; tried to jam the gear shift into neutral, but could not in time.we were struck from the left front and the vehicle was knocked onto the right side.minor injuries, treated and released at the emergency room.vehicle was totaled.

Car was parked in garage and the moonroof was opened earlier in the day with no issues.there were no cracks at all in the moonroof and no rocks had hit the vehicle.as the car was parked in our garage with our 1 year old daughter still in her car seat and my husband and i were at the front of the garage, the moonroof shattered and the glass got all over the interior of the car.again, there were no signs of glass and or wear on the actual moonroof during the day.cadillac's moonroof department stated that it may have been due to a temperature change.this is ridiculous since we live in new hampshire and the weather was a perfect 64 degrees and our garage was around 75. You assume that the glass in your car could withstand most situations. Srx was driven earlier in the day without incident.parked at home, then 6 hours later car door opened and panoramic sunroof main panel exploded, the shattered glass was caught by the retractable headliner.

So just bought this crossover, which is more like a short suv, or a really sturdy and stout station wagon; with 98,000miles 9n it. So there must've been an issue with the air bags because i was cleaning under the front seats and while doing so, k i locked a resistor wrapped in electrical tape off of some wires and even since my service airbag light has been on, not to mention there are wires cut that i need relieve go to the air bags as well. All that i was fine with. It was when i got acquainted with my cadillac cue and its blocky, glitched, slow,yet precisice directions; it has totally failed me while driving.one moment its telling me to make a left and the next intersection,then it told me that the map dvd, wasnt the map dvd and still has yet to read it's own map disc.

This complaint is a continuation of complaint bin23-53927 and describes the findings of the transmission disassembly. Disassembly was delayed due to medical treatment unrelated to this incident. Transmission failed suddenly in high volume "rush" hour traffic. No computer codes were displayed. 5lte-40 5-speed automatic transmission. Disassembly of the transmission revealed excessive metal particles and debris. The transmission fluid pump failed which caused loss of torque due to inadequate fluid levels in the torque converter. Clogging of the fluid "pick-up" filter also probably contributed to reduced fluid flow and failure of the fluid pump. A non-metallic washer was found to have disintegrated, allowing fragments to circulate in the transmission. The washer separated 2 splined drums. Disintegration of the washer allowed excessive movement and contact of the drums. Recommend gmc be contacted to obtain their comment on failure of these transmissions, as well as statistical review of incident reports to determine if failures are statistically greater than in the automotive industry, in general. The 5lte-40 and other transmissions have no traditional "dip stick" to measure transmission fluid level and contam

When driving home from a 2 hour trip in snowy conditions, the car started making a noise from the engine just as we pulled onto our road but no warning lights came on.we did not drive the vehicle and had it towed to the mechanic. The mechanic changed oil and filter and says he doesn't know what is wrong without going through the entire engine to find the problem.took it to another mechanic who said it is not keeping oil pressure, the camshafts are misfiring and he thinks the timing chain is an issue.they both said it needs a new engine and it has just under 85,000 miles.

Driving home slowly, 25 mph, the moonroof shattered.fortunately,the glass was caught by the sun fabric screen, however, it was extremely distracting and frightful.there were no prior cracks, wear marks, nor signs of wear, nor fallen objects.this could have caused a terrible accident.

While driving north on i75 going roughly 70mph around 5:30pm est and when the sunroof shattered on my 2008 cadillac srx. There was no one ahead of me close enough that would have cause degree to debris to fly up and break it.

I was at dick russell's in the restaurant waiting for my daughter and son-in-law, so we could have supper.we had been there about 5 - 10 minutes, 2 waitress came in and asked if we owned the cadillac, i said yes, waitress said your moon roof just exploded.i am so glad we were not in the car when it exploded.

While driving on our driveway, (no trees, rocks, debris, etc)the center portion of the moonroof imploded into the car.the shade was pulled trapping most of the glass shards from entering the vehicle. Nothing could havepossibly hit the glass and i was traveling 5 mph or less, coming to a stop at the end of our driveway.i have read many complaints online of this occurring and think it is a manufacturer defect as this portion of the glass covers the motors/mechanism that controls the moonroof. The temperatures were not extreme and the car had not been driven prior to the incident. We have owned the vehicle for almost 3 years and are now concerned about the other 2 glass roof panels being defective as well. A very unnerving experience and we are just thankful no one was injured, but could see the potential for injury.

At night i can't see out my window it's very dark and my headlights are very dim making it very hard to see at night. I have to put my high beams on to see. Also my strong is hard to turn when i'm trying to reverse or park but sometimes it's fine like their isn't anything wrong and when i'm when i'm driving it's fine. My horn and everything on my steering wheel stopped working all of a sudden. I went to my car in the morning to turn it on and my heated steering wouldn't work the cruise control no buttons worked plus my horn. On top of that i had my car re alligned because it kept feeling wobbly and it didn't work.

I was driving my srx back to work on airport rd in waterford michigan at 40mph.there was no traffic within view of me when all of the sudden my sunroof exploded dropping glass all over my interior and myself.i was unharmed other than a few very small pieces scratching my arm.i looked on the internet to find that this has happened to other owners however when i and other have called gm to discuss the problem we all get the same answer."i have never heard of that happening"i believe that this is yet another manufacturer problem with gm and they are dodging it.
