Takata airbag inflators recall were received by me since may 2016. I have been checking with the dealership since then and am told they do not have the parts or are unaware of what to fix as nothing is on their bulletin advising them what to do. I am unable to get the recall scheduled due to this, and am concerned that by being unable to have the recall taken care of, presents a life threatening situation and daily danger to me with driving on the road with defective airbags.
We have been receiving letters about the takata airbag recall & i also have the carfax app that states the recall & also the airbag light came on.we took the car to the local dealer after they took our appointment to repair the airbag then they kept the car all day to get a call that there is no fix for the airbag therefore they can't turn the airbag light off either.we really need to sell this car as we have a high payment & we need to reduce our monthly payments.this is hard to do when the airbag light is on.my husband had been dealing with many many people, supervisors, gm etc & nobody seems to want to help.(interesting that my brother has the same recall on his lincoln & he's in a rental car).we are taking a life threatening risk every time we drive this car as there is someone always in the passenger seat whether it's one of our kids, ourselves or another friend etc.

On general motors cars that light the backup lights while parked and remote lock and unlock are activated. Pedestrians and drivers stop as if the vehicle may back up which should be a proper reaction. I have even taught my children this, people now have a tendency to ignore the backup lamps on vehicles in parking lots as well as creating inconvenient situations as cars and pedestrians stop for unoccupied vehicles. I have found myself driving past these vehicles when they are attempting to backup creating a close call. I know this seems trivial but i see potential problems and it seems to me a simple computer reflash could solve this disturbing trend. In the vehicle description i chose cadillac escalade though it seems to be most gm products.
While driving the blind spot indicator fails intermittently.
Rear passenger lock does not unlock from key or button must be done manually.
My wife was going to a doctor's appointment with our 1 year old child. When she arrives she noticed the power-assisted step did not unfold when she opened her door, as it normally does. When she returned from her appointment and got in the car it the power-assisted step opened normally. After making her first turn out of the street she had parked on, the navigation cd started ejecting and inserting itself automatically, all of doors were locking and unlocking, the lights on the instrument panel and center console were flickering, power steering was lost, and the car stalled. She managed to veer over, turn the key off, and called me. I told her to put the car in park and try to restart. It started fine and she carefully drove back home. I dropped the car off at my local mechanic and they stated there were multiple well-documented bulletins on this electrical failure happening and that the dealership would be best suited to repair the issue. I then took it to the dealership and they stated they had to replace the positive and negative terminal cables to the battery. This could have been a much worse situation in which my wife or child was permanently injured or killed. Imagine if this had occurred on a highway - car stalling and losing power steering. This matter needs to be addressed as it seems to be a common theme for this make and model. Do not wait for a fatality to occur.
While driving the vehicle it stalled and would not go. I had to turn it off and start it again i was about to pull out in major traffic and this could have been bad. Then again it happened while driving i was able to turn off and start again. It also had electrical issues that gave error codes. I brought it in the cadillac dealership with 30000 miles on it but was told it was not covered under warranty or under a recall. While looking up the issues online there is a recall for this exact same problem but did not include my vin # i think the recall needs to be expanded before someone is killed in an accident.

Pulse width modulated l.e.d. Automotive lights such as are currently being used on a few upscale luxury cars, need to have their minimum pulsewidth increased or standardized. They produce a distracting and often irritating strobing effect when viewed.
Headlight installed height on taller vehicles such as category 1 and 2 trucks (commonly called suv, crossover, van, pickup truck, etc.) is of such a design that it commonly (perhaps unavoidably) ends up blinding drivers in passenger cars at lower heights by directing the 'hot spot' of headlight low beams directly into the eyes of passenger car drivers.in addition, bumper height on these same vehicles is not designed to meet bumpers on other vehicles, resulting in higher than necessary injury and fatality rates.please have someone contact me to discuss ways to develop safer vehicle designs and regulations.

The heated seat had stopped working.the heated/cooled seat module located under the passenger seat had a burnt connector.it looked like it could have easily started a fire.this seems to be a common problem as the technician at the dealer said he has seen this same problem many times.
I was informed by a gm dealer that there was a "bulletin" affecting these vehicles that have the issue of the seat warmers and cooling system to malfunction. I was told that the module needs to be replaced and the harness was "fryed", leading me to believe that there was an electrical problem which to me sounds as though a fire or some burning event occurred. The repair cost was $990 and i called gm for assistance. I was told that yes, in fact there was a bulletin on these vehicles however mine was not included.sounds to me as though there is a potential serious issue here that could cause a fire or other problem for other owners who are not part of the "bulletin". In terms of describing the problem, the seat heating and cooling just stopped working although the lights indicating they were working were still illuminated.

Lost all power steering while driving without any warning from the error code system.could have been a fatality or caused one.i was driving on a two lane road at approximately 35 mph. This vehicle has electronic power steering. I have the repair invoice and that unit was corroded.
The contact owns a 2009 cadillac escalade. While driving approximately 40 mph on an off ramp, the power steering suddenly failed and the steering wheel seized momentarily. The driver lost control of the vehicle and drove down an embankment. Moments later, the failure was corrected and the steering wheel operated normally. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 160,000.
The contact owns a 2009 cadillac escalade. While driving at an unknown speed and also while in park, the steering wheel became difficult to turn.
