My service stability system & abs light came on about two months ago. I have noticed when sometimes i press on the brake, it feel like it's slipping. Now, the lights stay on and i had a diagnostic test run on it and the code is c0223, also about 7 months ago my truck just stopped on the road. I was told that my problem was my fuel filter system. I just found out that both of these items were recalls. Please let me know what i need to do. I tried calling federal-mogul and honeywell international inc (fram) but i can't get through.

When i got the my suv from the dealership 8years ago 1 year later the lightstayability services system came on and no one can find the problem at all traction control not working suspension power not working

The vehicle would exhibit an abnormal humming. In addition, the contact stated that there was an unusual increase in braking distance and time. The vehicle would sporadically slide to a stop when applying the brakes. (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock)

Dt*:the contact stated the service stability system light illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealership and the sensor was replaced the first time.the problem returned, but the dealership could not repair unless the light was illuminated while at the dealership.also, the front passenger seat belt locked up without braking.the seatbelt has been replaced 3-4 times, but the problem persist.the dealership suggested a seatbelt extension be installed, but the problem occurred no matter the size of the passenger.

Inquiry about the stabilitrak system installed in the 2002 cadillac escalade suv. *ph as the right wheels touched a short patch of slush, there was a quick clockwise pivot that felt perpendicular to the highway facing to the right.possibly the stabilitrak system had reacted in a way that would spin the vehicle. *sc

The stabilizer track came on while driving on dry pavement.the vehicle has been to two different dealers on two separate occasions. The first dealer could not locate a problem and the second dealer replaced the sensors and the problem continued.

I owned 2002 cadillac escalade, i bought brand new, we do not know how many times we sent this car back to dealer to fix something, i change tires every one & half year, right now we have big problem, when i drive on freeway entrance with turns, the stability light comes on, meaning time the car suddenly slows down, looks like you step on brake. I brought to dealer to check it, they still have the car, can not find what could cause that. They took it for a test drive, they know this is dangerous when you are on the road.

On 08/27/2007 my stability control system light was on in the dash board of my veicle, approached traffic light tried to stop and the brakes would not work, then the vehicle accelarated on its own.for the grace of god i was able to avoid an accident due to the traffic being light.i had my 2002 cadillac escalade towed to the nearest cadillac service shop(ken dixon, waldorf md) in the area at the time.dealer advised an issue with the abs and the stability control uni adv cost of repair $2600 or more, advised by dealer no recall on either of these issues.to date nothing has been done, the dealer still has the vehicle and has yet to return any of my calls in reference to my claim.items of issue service brakes, hydraulic: antilock- control unit/module-components-sensorsvehicle speed control -linkagesuspension which involves the stability control(asc)

Upon the recent development of a loud "ticking" noise when starting my 2002 escalade 6.0 awd, i immediately brought the truck into my local shop for diagnostics. A quick inspection found missing and rusted exhaust manifold bolts on the driver side of my engine, causing an exhaust leak. This leak creates not only a dangerous co2 leak within the engine compartment (which also can be drawn into the cabin's hvac system), but it also raises environmental concerns, as the leaking exhaust is not being properly treated via the vehicle's catalytic converter. My passenger side manifold also has rusted bolts and is very close to having the same issue as the driver side. My truck is impeccably maintained, with all the applicable service records. This issue is well documented across the internet, with owners of 1999-2006 escalades, tahoes, suburbans, yukon/xls, silverados and sierras.i strongly urge the nhtsa to launch an investigation into the issues surrounding the massive failure of manifolds and manifold bolts on 1999-2006 gm full size suv and pickup trucks. A quick search online should provide more than enough compelling evidence to begin an investigation. I'll be happy to personally provide whatever assistance i can to help encourage your decision.

Daytime running lamps have never worked. Replaced bulbs 6 times. Keep burning out.seems every escalade i see has only one working.

Headlights on suvs are too high and low beams are effectively high beams for drivers of regular cars. This means that at night, the suv lights shine directly into the eyes of drivers in front via the rear view and side mirrors. This will lead to accidents, distracting drivers' attention from traffic in front and severely reducing visibility.*la

I own an auto repair shop and have seen the recall # 05v161000 regarding the parking brake defect with gmc and chevrolet pickups. The same problem also exists on the suvs of the same basic design, 2000 and newer tahoes, suburban, escalade, etc.every one of these i see in my shop with over 35,000 miles has a worn parking brake, usually ruining the rotors when they scrape metal to metal. I always hesitate to park near one of the vehicles in a hilly area, since i know the parking brake is usually non-existent.

The car's emergency brake while fully engaged will not stop the car from rolling down a 5% grade driveway.i took the car to the dealership and they said this isn't the first time these have come back forthis problem. However they don't have a protocal or recall notice so they can't fix the problem.if this suv were parked on a hill with the emergency brake applied and the car was shifted into neutral by a child. Their could be a grave accident that could result in fatalities to pedestrians and people in the vehicle.by the dealership refusing to fix this problem, i am concerned with the safety of the people.dt

Parking brake does not hold car when parked on a grade.dealer said it was a common problem with escalades.no recall/warranty.

The contact owns a 2002 cadillac escalade. The contact stated that when taking the vehicle in for state inspection, she was advised that the emergency brake was inoperable. The brake pedal became stuck.the power steering was defective, the brake booster pump was defective as well, which also cracked and leaked fluid.the pump was replaced by the dealer.there was a strong vibration felt from all four wheels, in which the all wheel drive system had malfunctioned and caused the front differential to seize and explode.scc

My 2002 cadilliac escalade has had a serious problem with the throttle body and power train for two years i have been taking it to the dealer and they have been negligent in informing me of this recall and i have asked them about this problem on several occasions what can i do about this.

While stopping at a red light another vehicle traveling at approximately 50 mphrear ended consumers vehicle, upon impact none of the airbags deployed also drivers side seat belt did not hold.

Front passenger seat belt locks due to a safety catch for a child seat or child. The slightest movement or bump in the road causes belt to tighten to the point of discomfort. It may have been designed as a safety feature, but it has become a safety hazard since my wife will not use the belt. I have complained to cadillac to no avail. They claim it works to specs, but they have not tried to ride with it on for any time.

I was driving with my children in my 2002 cadillac escalade and there was a real bad burning smell and smoke coming from my back seat. I looked in the back seat and there was smoke coming from the rear drivers side seat. The heated seats had gotten turned on by accident or turned on by themselves. We pulled over and got the two kids out of there carseats turned the heated seat switch off, waited for the seat to cool off. Thankfully we caught it in time as my children could have been injured. I put in a complaint to cadillac to file arbitration as my heated seats have been reapired 3 times prior to them melting. Cadillac denied arbitration and told me the dealer will repair it yet again.

Seat heater spontaneously burst into flame, catching entire seat on fire.

The passenger side back seat heater gets so hot you can see the coil imprint in the leather. This concerns me.will this start a fire?

This escalade should be included in your action number pe05020. The vehicle activated abs on slow braking as described in the above action number.this occurred multiple times until i figured out what was happening.gmc garage discovered trouble code and repaired wheel speed censors as per protocol and problem has resolved.gm takes no responsibility for this issue.this is a known issue and all vehicles with the same identical parts should be covered.

Driving low speed and brake pedal went to the floor. No warning lights.difficult to stop car. Selected lower gear and managed to stop car with what braking power remained.had just gotten off freeway, could have been a serious accident.brake fluid visible at rear of vehicle.took car to gm dealer and they advised a rear steel brake line had corroded and had a hole.stated all brake lines needed replacing along with brake calipers due to corrosion. They would have to raise body from chassis for access. Bill would be $3000 to $4000. They would gladly take this car in trade for a new gm vehicle. This car had all new brakes installed at gm dealer in 2013 and there was no mention of corroded brake lines.

While traveling 35 mph in traffic i incurred a loss of braking power.upon closer inspection i noticed a brake line leak due to rust.brake lines had rusted through causing a loss of brake fluid.

The contact owns a 2002 cadillac escalade. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact had to apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. An independent mechanic stated that the brake lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000.

Ongoing problem with brakes.have had them replaced twice in the past year even though only 15,000 miles between replacements.brakes continue to make loud and strange noise, like the abs is activated, when braking at low speeds (under 10 mph).vehicle appears not to stop very quickly when braking at low speeds.this happens consistently.

This complaint is related to the recent opening of investigation of low speed abs activation in gm c/k models.i have a 2002 cadillac escalade with 117k miles.i had been experiencing wheel cylinder activation for a period of time. (one wheel) on two recent occasions, both while on a downgrade, rolling at approximately 3 mph, i experienced full blown 4 wheel abs activation, nearly colliding with the vehicles in front of me.i went to the dealer and had to have hubs and rotors replaced.not sure if they replaced or just cleaned the sensors.issue should be a recall, cost me $1000.00+.

Problem with the abs system activating when stopping at a low speed.

When braking at a low speed <10mph the abs system kicks in and pushes the vehicle forward when trying to brake.it started occuring randomly and very few times, but now is constant and everytime when slowing down.after taking it to the dealer, i had 4 new tires put on, by suggestion of the shop, and it failed to fix the problem.ihad numerous close callsand eventually hit a meter when trying to park.the abs triggers a kicking feeling that allows the truck to continue moving forward at least 3-5 feet after the brake is applied, even at very low speeds <5mph.

While traveling on the freeway approachingan intersection. He apply his brakes the pedal went all the way down to the floor there were no brakes.the dealership is aware of the problem. Ts

I have a 2002 cadillac escalade and have read that there was a recall only in certain states for the abs traction control module malfunction. I have almost been in two accidents since i got the car two months ago. The dealer won't work with me and i called cadillac and they said there was no recall. There are alot of complaints online and the part is on back order for atleast 3 months everywhere. We have checked over 35 different places. The abs kicks in when you are going under 5 mph and then the truck won't stop. It happens every time i go to stop the truck.

My 2002 cadillac escalade has braking issues under 5 mph.it appears the abs system is activated which takes the vehicle longer to stop.the brakes get very spongy and do not respond immediately.this has caused me to get into some very close calls when trying to stop.

Noticed the vehicle was not stopping well , started hearing aloud noise from under the vehicle even when the engine was off. This ran my battery down. Had to replace my antilock control unit module.

My brakes are starting to go out. And the back air vents don't work so it takes a while for my daughter to get warm when it's cold out.

The contact owns a 2002 cadillac escalade.immediately after purchasing the vehicle on december 12, 2003, the contact felt a vibration while attempting to brake.the dealer stated that the brakes were the cause of the failure, but no repair was made.in june of 2004, the vehicle was returned to the dealer and they rotated, mounted, and balanced four new tires.after the repair, the contact noticed that the vehicle would not slow down when the brake pedal was depressed.the vehicle was taken to the dealer again and they stated that the rear brake pads needed to be replaced and repaired.the dealer repaired the rear brake pads, rotors, and rear brake shoes.this specific failure has been ongoing for the past three years.recently, the contact experienced failure with the abs, which caused the brake pedal to extend to the floor.the vehicle would also accelerate and vibrate while braking.she returned the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the hub bearings needed to be replaced and repaired.the vehicle is no longer being driven due to the constant failures with the brakes and abs.the current mileage was 110,000 and failure mileage was 50,000.

Dt*:the contact stated while backing out of the garage, at 3 mph, the brakes and steering failed.the ignition was turned off and the vehicle stopped.the vehicle was towed to the dealership, where it was determined the fluid in the power unit for the brakes and power steering was contaminated because of a broken seal, causing the failure.the power unit was replaced, and the other units connected to this were drained and refilled.updated 3/28/2006 -

Abs brakes/brake system: bought a pre-owned cadillac escalade 2002, after it reached about 75000 miles, abs system makes a loud grinding noise when u press the brakes, extremely loud, brought the truck to a cadillac dealership claimed they didn't find anything wrong.....something needs to be recalled with these trucks in regards to the abs systems.....never made that sound before when i had owned it for about a year, after a year started to make a horrible unsafe loud noise when u press the brakes....feel very unsafe in the vehicle..... Also the truck accelerated once without my foot on the gas......truck was in park so the truck didn't move--just accelerated like it wanted to race.noticed an electrical problem that started in the truck at around 80,000 miles---not all sensored areas are lit, 1/2 are, 1/2 are not, drivers heated seat stopped working also.

Braking system on our 2002 cadillac escalade reverts to anti-lock mode at low speed 5 mph or less. This has caused a very dangerous situation with the vehicle failing to stop and rolling through stop signs and red lights. The only way to avoid this, is to begin stopping well in advance of desired stopping point and hoping it stops. I will be bringing in to be repaired however i would believe there should be a recall as this situation will if it hasn't already led to a death.

At slow speeds (<5 mph) the abs system engages during the course of normal braking.this results in the car being unable to stop within expected stopping distance and led me to bump into a car stopped at an intersection.the problem cannot be linked to worn brake pads as these were replacaed only 4 months previously. Dealer has been notified.

I purchased a 2002 cadillac escalade that has experienced slow-speed braking problems from the first date of purchase.initially i thought that it may be the brake shoes or rotors, however, i have had the brake shoes and rotors replaced on the front and back of the vehicle.the problems with the braking have persisted.the abs is triggered when driven at low speeds usually under 15 miles per hour when the conditions do not warrant it.consequently, i have almost wrecked due to the defective operation of the brakes and i am afraid to drive the vehicle and concerned with the safety of my wife and three small children. I have been told by a dealership that potentially the problem with the braking system involves the front, wheel speed sensor mounting surface on the bearing.supposedly rust or corrosion could detrimentally affect the peak-to-peak output voltage.the wheel bearing hub assembly sensor problem causes false wheel speed readings which sends erroneous wheel speed readings to the vehicle''s computer.the computer interprets this reading as a need for the computer to continue activating the abs to prevent wheel lockup.however, if abs is still triggering at very low speeds, it prevents the wheels from coming to a complete stop because it continually releases and applies the brakes at very low speeds (under 15 miles an hour).this type of defect could have near fatal outcomes especially in a hilly and mountainous terrain like that of west virginia.due to this pre-existing material defect in the vehicle which affects an extremely integral part of the operation, rendering it undriveable; i expect general motors/cadillac to fix this problem at no cost to me, the consumer.it would be extremely negligent to have notice about a manufacturing defect and ignore your duty of care to remedy this problem, especially in light of the low cost remedy available to recall and fix it.sincerely, nelson r. Staples iv.

Brakes are squealing and grinding. Stopping distance has not increased. Currently no light have illuminated as showing a problem. Dealer was notified of problem. Please provide more information.

Rear brakes wore out with over 50% of front pads remaining. Ive owned over 30 cars and trucks in my life and this is a first. Dealer tells me its normal. Since historically 99.99% of all vehicles perform 80% of braking with the front brakes it seems that there is something wrong with the brake balancing system on my car. Asked for cadillac to put in writing that this is how these brakes were designed. They told me they dont do that. When i put my 3year old& 2 year old little girls in this car i want to know that it is safe and cadillac is willing to say so in writing. I dont believe the brake system is right.

During a u-turn, on a 4-lane street the power steering and brakes stopped working.i wasn't able to steer or stop.the steering became very hard as well as the brake pedal.the cadillac dealer suggested it was the power steering pump and changed it under my warranty.i picked the car up 1 week later after being told that my car was fixed.after leaving the dealer, i stopped at a traffic light and my break pedal began vibrating and again i was not able to steer the car.i took the car back to the dealer and allowed him to talk me into keeping the car for the weekend (it was a friday and no mechanics worked the weekend).again i left the dealer and carefully attempted to drive the car home.i was stopped behind a car making a left turn and as i attempted to remove myself from behind the car by changing lanes, i realized that the car will not turn unless moving.i went back to the dealer and demanded that they keep the car until fixed.one week later (the following friday) i was called to pick up my car again.i was told that the new power steering pump was bad and they had replaced it with another new one. The next friday i picked up my car and was able to drive it for about a week and a half all the while knowing that it still wasn't right.this time the steering was less jerky (but jerky nevertheless) while applying the brake, the front end was clumping when i went over bumps, there was way too much play in the steering wheel, and the car is whistling while driving and idling.i took the car back on thursday, july 6, 2006, the service writer drove it and instructed me to bring it back on monday.at this time, my car is not fixed. The condition of my car has become substantially worse each time i picked up the car.
