The contact stated that the gm investigator informedhim that they would come out and remove a black box from the vehicle. The contact stated that they did inform him that the box had been removed and they found no information on the box that indicated anything was wrong with the airbags or the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer informedhim that he could pay to have the airbags repaired, and if they found any fault to due to the manufacturing of the airbags, then they would reimburse him fully.the contact stated that thevehicle has been at jerry cadillac since 12/12/06, and he has been given no answers about the vehicle that he only drovefor 1 month.the failure mileage was 1999.
Recieved notice last year involving takata inflators and was directed to contact my local vehicle manufacturer (johnson motors of augusta) for recall and repair. It has been over a year with no repairs or replacement scheduled ofthe recalled takata inflator.
Just purchased and found out this recall has never been completed.

In august of 2009 i noticed when i had a front seat passenger i would get an instrument panel indicator warning light of "airbag readiness". Also, thepassenger airbag status indicator in the overhead console was registeras being "off". This failure was never intermittently -- it just failed. I went through the procedures of the owner's manual for possible corrections:1. Have front passenger adjust weight while seated, move or position seatin a upright position, then turn vehicle "on and off".2. Check for items under the seat for items and adjust seat belts.the last week of november i took the vehicle into the dealership for recallof nhtsa id#10v2400000. At that time i addressed the problem of the failureof the airbag system to the cadillac representative. He stated " he had checkedthe system for a recall of this nature and there was none".this could be true because, i just lucked upon seeing an article on the internetconcerning the recall of gm vehicles. However, the recall of nhtsa id# 10v644000 is for cadillac/cts2005-2007. My vehicle is a cadillac/ext 2007however, this model vehicle is experiencing the exact safety hazard as thecadillac/cts 2007 model.i do not feel this is a random coincidence rather, something that should be seriously brought to the attention of car manufacturer.*ln
I was driving my 07 ext escalade on jan. 3rd 11;50 at night when i noticed that it was unusually hot in the truck and a block later it smelt like hot plastic or burning hair and then i saw some smoke from inside the cab so i slowed down and then it got worse so i jumped out of the truck will it was still moving it ran into a snow bank i got up and ran over to the truck and shut the door hopping to smother out the flame of its air but the truck was running and the heater was still on called the police not to long after i saw the dash onfire then a window blew out and the whole thing was on fire after 15 min. The fire dept. Shows up and buy 1;00 am they put the fire out.
After driving the truck from work one day, all the lights on the dash starts flickering, there was a loss of power, no acceleration and speed gauge drop completely. I had no idea of the speed that i was driving plus the doors started locking and unlocking. I have looked online and there are many people with the same issue with gm products.
Failure of the wheel hub and bearing assembly.caused loss of vehicle control, loss of abs, wheel detachment and wheel fire.
After driving the truck from work one day, all the lights on the dash starts flickering, there was a loss of power, no acceleration and speed gauge drop completely. I had no idea of the speed that i was driving plus the doors started locking and unlocking. I have looked online and there are many people with the same issue with gm products.

In addition, the front driver side door knob fractured. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (mclaughlin cadillac in east moline, il) and the manufacturer were not notified. Cracked dash- driver's side, completely cracked and separated, from steering wheel side to windshield. The dash cracked in second place a few days ago, along side of the main crack. Very flimsy material and creates a noise when driving. The dash has started to lift and separate at the larger crack and this is causing a glare in the windshield when the sun is out while driving(very dangerous!). This is a safety hazard because of the glare and the potential ofbroken dash fragments that could cause injury or even a fatality if the airbags are deployed. This is a poor design that could cause serious injuries and even death!

All 4 factory rims are deteriorating and are causing the tries to loose air and go flat in traffic.
