Takata recall - gm issued a recall for our vehicle in may, 2016 and to this date, dealers are still reporting no parts available to fix the defective air bags.we contacted cadillac customer service about this and we're told it may be several more months before parts are available or nhtsa closes the recall without repairs.the problem is we've been trying to trade the car in on a new vehicle, however no dealers want the vehicle as they cannot resell them with a pending recall and no parts are available to fix it.what is our recourse in making a claim with gm against the amount they have devalued our vehicle?

Airbag light came on while we took a trip to big bear with friends, technician discovered the connectors under the front passenger seat were melted, got the connectors changed, airbag module replaced, airbag light is still on.i own a rental company and i'm not able to rent the vehicle due to the passenger airbag recall for the past year, and gm won't do anything about it. Takata recall.it's been 2 years since the recall notification and no solution has been obtained.i've exhausted all efforts to resolve this dangerous recall.in 2016 & 2017 i attempted to trade in my vehicle at the cadillac dealers.according to the cadillac sales person, they are not taking any trade in with that recall and if they did it would be at a considerable value reduction.basically giving the vehicle away.i'm forced to keep this dangerous car and it's bad workmanship.

There needs to be a recall on this vehicle!!i received a recall notice for the air bag in september 2016 i have been in contact with the dealer and have no parts to the recall yet almost 2 years

I have the "service traction control" , "stabilitrak", "low oil pressure" lights keep coming on and engine is consuming quite a large amount of oil and is now knocking. After eliminating other areas, the mechanic has came to a conclusion that the knocking is from the result of a faulty push rod. I am a [xxx] driver with 4 juvenile children and use the cadillac primarily for family trips as i have a company vehicle to commute to and from work. Some of the reviews that i have read about the engine say that the engine is designed for high performance and longevity. And even though the miles that are currently getting high, i don't think that this engine has achieved it. The warning lights that i have listed have only came on when the vehicle was in motion.parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *an

Abnormally high oil consumption:even after completing the valve cover replacement as recommended in the gm technical service bulletin 10-06-01-008m, the high oil consumption continues to occur. From full oil level completed at the dealershjp service center to the point that the computer screen indicates "low oil level", the car had only been driven 1,000 miles (verified by gm service center).as an side, the vehicle is driven about 5,000 miles per year and is serviced and cared for religiously.this issue was initially noticed in 2012 as was thought to be a normal characteristic of the make/model.only after further research into similar instances with the same make/model as reported by other owners, did this become a larger issue.it was then reported to gm resulting in a case number being created.the next maintenance step as recommended by gm service center is to replace pistons and rings.

P0011 engine code once the check engine light comes on the truck rides horrible. Gm has no solution to this problem. Its a design flaw lubricating the cam shaft. I change the oil once a month. Its not enough.. Gm knows this problem exist and covers it up.. I hope more escalade owners come forward and complain about this problem. Forcing owners to go to the dealership to clear the code isn't fair.....

Chrome plating on interior door handles has peeled resulting in a razor-blade like effect causing injury to hands when using door handles.senior citizen age 78 injured hand while using door.despite this being a known defect, gm refuses to replace these handles at their cost and has not issued a recall.these handles were replaced approximately two years ago because of the same defect and the new ones installed have suffered the same problem.according to nhtsa action number ea10004, "in july 2010, gm issued a special coverage policy (scp 09239) on the base vehicles to extend the warranty coverage to 10 years/100k miles. Recent data indicate that the base population complaint and injury reporting have subsided since the implementation of the scp campaign. In june 2011, gm added the remaining interim population (sep-oct 2006) to the scp."cadillac has informed me that my vehicle, despite having this defect, and despite being listed in the nhtsa report, is not a part of the scp.why is that?

The contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv.the contact stated that when attempting to open any of the doors, the handles became separated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. We just wanted to alert you of a life threatening situation that occurred with our 2007 cadillac escalade esv,on wednesday, july 17, 2013. I had just picked up my kids from swim practice and was pulling out of the parking lot when my steering wheel was completely disconnected from the wheels and had no ability to steer the car... It just freely spun around and around. Thankfully, i was able to stop the vehicle before hitting a tree and my kids and i were not injured, just very shaken. However, it was and still is very present in my mind what the outcome could have been had we been on the highway or going at a faster speed. Cadillac roadside was very helpful in getting the car towed to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and have had all maintenance done in the past. After review of the vehicle i was told that they are really not sure what went wrong, as they had never seen anything like it. Apparently the whole front steering system is supposed to collapse in a head on collision, but for some reason it collapsed without warning or reason. Consequently, due to the steering wheel continuously spinning, it had ripped out all the power cords to the radio, air conditioning, power steering, stabilitrac, etc. The car was a disaster and at that point i had no trust in the car to ever drive it again. I had enjoyed my vehicle up to this point, but this has made me incredibly concerned about putting my family in another cadillac vehicle.

While traveling on an interstate highway steering became completely unresponsive. I managed to exit highway without incident. Attempted to make left turn but car continued to go straight. The vehicle had to be towed as it was unable to be driven. Informed by dealer the manifold heatshield rusted and fell into the steering mechanism causing the complete lack of steering control. Passenger side front exterior door handle broke loose from the body of the vehicle. I contacted the dealer for repairs and was quoted $300+ for the repair. I looked online and was surprised that this is an issue for numerous owners. So i contacted cadillac, and was initially told it was under warranty, and to take it in to the dealer for repairs at no cost to me. After taking off work, was told by the dealer that this was not true, when actuality the interior handles are the actual handles under warranty for the chrome pealing. At this point the chrome on the interior handles were not a concern of mine. After going back and forth with gm/cadillac and my local dealer for a couple of months, i bought a replacement handle and did the repair myself. About a year later the passenger side rear exterior door handle separated from the body, i contact cadillac to make a complaint, i do get a call back, the rep ask me what do i want them to do, i say " it would be great if they knowing this is a ongoing issue that they pay for the repairs", i was told " this is not a safety issue and doesn't fit the category of having a recall issued", i stated well if i was in an accident, and someone needed to open the door from the outside, is this not a safety issue? i was basically told no. Again they ask what do you want us to do? i said well, this is my second handle that has broken, at least pay some portion of it, i was told that is left up to the dealer to decide. When my first handle broke, i tried to negotiate with the dealer to bring the cost down, with no success. So i let the rep., know just annotate this as a complaint. I again went on the internet and purchased a handle and did the repair myself. The handles can be found for less than $50 (with a warranty) and take about 30 min. To install. My interior handle were never replaced, go figure, no longer under warranty.

The exterior door handles have pulled out from the door three times. When you go to open the door, the door handle pulls out from the door frame. I just had this happen again for the third time at a cost of $232.72. This could be a safety hazard if you were in a crash and had to have some one open the door from the outside to remove you or your family. It is obviously a design flaw.

Exterior door handles keep breaking probably because the are plastic.

The contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. The contact stated that the exterior front and rear left side door handles began to separate from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the door handles needed to be replaced. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
