I have a 1999 cadillac deville, d'elegence v8 and my air bag light keeps coming on.i'm asking to see if there has been or will be a recall, i'm not sure if its a sensor problem.?

We were leaving my son's apartment when we hit the speed bump at about 5 miles an hour the air bags deployed and busted out our wind shield and filled the car with smoke.my fianc was driving the car and had his thumb hurt.several of the electrical things in the car do not work now.

As far a i know, the car is still at ed martin's.

Possible side airbags deployed without cause, family believe that one or both side airbags deployed while approaching the intersection and disorientated the driver as well as blocking her view of the intersection causing a fatal accident.

Consumer received recall 00v217, consumer feels the repair should be done as soon as possible, consumer is also upset that he has been told to go ahead and drive the car knowing the air bag could deploy at any time.

I struck a truck tire treadwhich slapped the door on the driver's side.there was slight damage to the sheet metal below the trim on the door. The side airbag deployed, striking me on the arm. Vehicle was involved in a driver side impact collision.upon impact, side air bags failed to deploy.upon inspection of the vehicleby the insurance company they noticed that the side air was disconnected and duck taped.prior to this incident vehicle was taken into a dealership to have the side impact sensor module recall 00v228000 repairs performed. Dealership never performed repairs, but indicated hedid so.

Dt: car has been shutting down intermittently while driving. Just shuts off. Consumer loses all power brakes, andsteering, etc,.consumer said that there aren't any warning lights before vehicle shuts off. Once the consumer stops the vehicle, it has to be restarted and is ok until the next occurrence. *sb

Through online research, my daughter discovered the cadillac deville 1999 northstar model/vehicle has numerous issues due to overheating and head gaskets.

The dealer performed a diagnostic evaluation of the vehicle and located a coolant and water pump leak, as well as engine failure.there was pressure build-up and head gasket failure, which contributed to the failure.the dealer estimated that the repairs would cost over $3,000.although there was a customer safety improvement campaign, the manufacturer denied the contact's claim due to the current mileage on the vehicle and because she was not the original owner.the current and failure mileages were less than 86,629.updated 04/29/30.

1999 cadillac deville.consumer states that the vehicle persistently overheats and the engine shuts off.the consumer stated the vehicle was leaking coolant.the thermostat, upper radiator hose and reservoir were replaced. A diagnostic test revealed exhaust was entering the coolant system and the vehicle would emit smoke of any color.

While sitting in front of my home my 1999 cadillac deville caught on fire and burnt to a total loss.the car was parked, had not been driven for about 48 hours. The fire started in the engine compartment. The fire occurred at about 2:00pm.satruday afternoon. Temp about 82 degrees.something in the cars engine room on the left side ignited. It appears to have been an electrical problem that self ignited. Just prior to the fire, my wife who was at home at the time heard the car alarm go off.she went to the window and it quit sounding. She did not see any fire at that time.about 5 minutes later a neighbor pounded on the door and alerted her to the fact that the car was burning. The fire was so intense that before the fire department got to the seen, one of the hood gas struts blew through the front grill and landed about 20 feet in front of the vehicle. The fire department came and put out the fire.something obviously within this cars engine compartment electrical/computer system started the fire. The car is a total loss. Cadillacs should not burn and should not spontaneously ignite. The car had about 75,000 miles. I own 11 other cars and have a small car collection. I am a car guy and this car like all my cars (including 2 ferrari's) has been well maintained and when i last drove on thursday evening august 28, it ran fine and did not give me any indication of any electrical issues. The police determined that it was not vandalized or caused by any outsiders.

While drivingvehicle reached high temperatures. I n june, 2004 independent shop replaced the radiator. I n july, 2004 they replaced the water pumpand thermostat. In august technician indicated to consumer the need to replacedthe engine at consumer'sexpense of $7.000.

My car was overheating.i had the water pump replaced and the radiator and it continued to over heat.i took it to the dealership where they told me that i my cross over pipes were leaking and i would need a new engine.i found this very hard to believe when i have taken such good care of the my care with scheduled oil changes and the works.i love my car and i don't want to get rid of it,please help me.

Mysterious coolant leak, have had a pressure test on system, passed, head test, passed, and have put in over 9 gallons of antifreeze in car, still no idea where leak is. Talked with cadillac service at bob more cadillac, and was told that it is a very common problem with the northstar engines. They use a almond pill to crush up and put in all cadillac cooling systems.this is required by gm to plug leaks that they know will happen and is a gm part fix, sold by them.

I struck a truck tire treadwhich slapped the door on the driver's side.there was slight damage to the sheet metal below the trim on the door. The side airbag deployed, striking me on the arm. I was surprised that the airbag had deployed with such small damage to the door. I reported the incident to the louisiana state police. Troop "b" out of new orleans filed the incident report. I have a 1999 cadillac deville, there is a problem with the rear suspension knuckle assembly, i have had this car to 2 different dealers, the second dealer, last summer, replaced the rear struts & stabilizer bar which did not rectify the situation when ambient temperatures are above 60 degrees, i hear a "fierce" screech/scrunch sound from the rear suspension, i have gone round & round with cadillac customer service & the dealers, now that the car is no longer under warranty cadillac doesn't want anything to do with it.i had my oil changed & the tires rotated last week & while they were under the car i had them to look at the rear suspension, they said it needed a new knuckle assembly & the dealer knew better than replace rear struts with this type of noise.it seems that nourse cadillac in delaware ran up a big tab & billed it to cadillac (warranty) and as soon as they made their money they wanted nothing more to do with the car so now i am stuck.a car of this magnitude & price should not have rear components wearing like this, i only have 77,000 miles on the car & i do not drive it hard....what do i do?

While driving 25-30 mph rpms went up and vehicle started to accelerate. Consumer applied brake, then shifted to neutral. Rpms then went to 45000. Consumer applied brakes to slow down vehicle. Consumer states when it is raining and dark and headlights are coming from the opposite direction, all she sees is a blur, on one occasion while washing the vehicle, she noticed brown blotches directly in front of the driver side field of vision on the windshield.

This vehicle has not been driven abusively and the tires and wheels have always been properly balanced and aligned.i am very concerned that other vehicles with this type of wheel(s) will also get stress fractures and the wheels will fail with catastrophic results!i will keep the wheels and make them available for inspection for 45 days.
