Consumer just returned home turnedvehicle off, went into his home, returned to vehicle, put key back into ignition to park in garage. As soon as he turned the ignition key over both air bags deployed at once, causing neck and and chincuts and bruises. Dealership---schooly cadillac w. Palm beach fl.--561-845-5500.dealer has three cadillacs with same problem. He also says that when it rains the vehicle gets wet underneath,causing the airbags to deploy. There was a computer chip installed last week under a recall by cadillac.

The contact owns a 1995 cadillac concours.he stated that the service air bag light illuminated and remained on.the dealer stated that they would repair the service air bag light but there would be a charge.the current mileage was 102,081 and the failure mileage was unavailable.
Electrical system malfunctioned, causing remote control/security system/lights to fail.
While driving up an incline on hot day with ac on i got message no charge, and "engine hot shutdown soon", & ac compressor off! (a no brainer with belt shredded!!) as well as steering going numb. When i looked under the hood the serpentine belt had slipped off the pulleys & shredded.upon closer inspection it was determined that the power steering pump "adapter" has a leak that drips oil directly onto the belt & pulleys which are smooth with nothing to stop belt from sliding off should a leak occurs. I have been unable to find "power steering pump adapter" in salvage yard & its out of production at gm & not in stock at my local dealer.
Severevibration between 50 to 80 mi. Per hour. Have spent over $1000.00 to try to remedy problem. Dealership said they can't do anymore and it must be a manufacturing defect. There is also a very loud popping noise when the steering wheel is turned in either direction. It comes from either side and possibly chassis. At first thought it was struts or bearings. Complete front end repair did not fix the noise. Car has never been in an accident either. There is also a problem with changing gear shift from parking to reverse or drive on an incline. Sometimes it jams and has to be jerked very had to go into gear. Other times it slips from gear to another. Have replaced brakes 2 times. Still has shudder upon pressing brakes regardless of speed. An offensive odor like rotten eggs, especially when using air conditioner. Dealership said they found this a lot in this certain vehicle. They do not know how to fix. It is a manufacturing defect. Owner before me has already replace the ignition module. A dealership said another manufacturing defect. Fuel pump wires were burned and replaced by previous owner. Battery cables also shorted out and were replaced on 8/29/03. Battery continues to be drained if vehicle has not been started within a 3 day period.

Car stalled at highway speeds intermittantly.
Computer failure.
Insulation covering wiring in the electric fuel tank burned off, exposing wires, causing a possible fire hazard.
Consumer had to replace the fuel pump.the wiring harness had caught on fire and melted the insulation on some of the wires destroying the electrical connector under the fuel outlet lines inside of the tank.the vehicle prior to the fire used to stall until it quit entirely.after consumer replaced the fuel pump, he noticed the old fuel pump was not the cause of failure.the wiring harness had failed because of an electrical fire.*jg
Removal of fuel pump revealed bare wiring inside fuel tank which shorted circuit.
Fuel pump failed, causing vehicle not to start. The insulation around fuel pump wires, that provided power to the electronic fuel pump, partially melted.since the wire are located inside the fuel tank this failure could have resulted in an explosion. *nlm

Wife starts driving home and engine stops running, pulls off of road ,car won't start,she calls her husband and thinks the car is out of gas. He puts 2 gls in and car won't start, adds another 2gls,car won't start, calls tow truck, truck lifts front of car and there is a large spot of gas on the ground, thinkingthere is a hole in the tank ,car is towed to garage, new tank is ordered, 4days later we find the problem is the wiring harness burned and melted,outside of fuel pump burned and melted,top part of fuel tank burned and melted, this is a very serious hazard and warrants an investigation,contacted general motors and they ignorethe problem. The contact pulled the vehicle over, opened the hood, and noticed flames. The contact extinguished the fire and the vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was diagnosed that there was a fuel rail leakage. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 04v110000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.

All pullies attached to motor had to be replaced due to motor mounts broken
Oil pan failed resulting in leaking.
The failure of motor mounts are not identified under " engine" for failed components as i am sure this is a generic design problem with this engine.
Car loses detonation and won't always restart right away.has happened numerous times even at highway speeds.engine completely stops.other electrical systems are still working. Car stalls.this is very much a safety issue and has happened once going 65 mph on the freeway.

1. I noticed the car jumping when i pulled away from a stopped position.and this continued until my appointment with dealer in july. The problem with the a/c started with a terrible odor whenever a/c was on. So i then was unable to use it until i had it fixed.

I went to start my car (1995 cadillac concourse) and before the engine turned-over, i heard a very loud pop, similar to a back fire, except that this noise came from underneath the hood.i then, simultaneously, noticed smoke coming from under neath the closed hood.i jumped out of the car and opened the hood to find that the engine was on fire.i ran back inside the house to get water and wet towels to try and put out the fire, which, after about 5 to 6 minutes, i was able to extinguish the fire.the engine had never caught on fire before this incident.damaged to the engine from the fire appeared to be substantial in terms of wires, hoses, various plastic covers associated with the engine.because i am not a mechanic, i can't say what kind of structural damage occurred during the fire.as a result of this fire, i have been without my vehicle since 5/7/09.the only way i have been getting to and from work is with the generosity of my family and friends.i called general motors on 8 may 09, to inform them of the fire, but, as of 6/13/09, general motors has refused to repair my vehicle, even though it is one of their vehicles that was under a recall for potential engine fires.the recall item is called a fuel rail.

I observed a liquid puddle about midway between the front and rear doors, on the driver side of the car.upon further examination i concluded the liquid was gasoline.i felt where i thought the leak was coming from and felt tubing.i felt the a tube line and it crumbled in my hand. Upon further visual inspection, i observed other areas (along the drivers door) that were also leaking gasoline.much of the gas line is crumbling plastic, causing gasoline to leak under the car.

The car wont always start and when it dose start it wont stay running unless you have your foot on the gas the car will stall out while driving down the road at any speed the car stalls out all the time and doesn't start right away.

In-tank fuel pump unit motor failure caused a high-current draw.prior to fuse blowing, in-tank wiring became hot enough to melt the wire insulation.this is a serious safety condition.had the wire come off the terminal and created a spark, the resulting explosion could have killed the driver and any passengers.

Original fuel pump was replaced 09/99 at approximately 37,000 miles. Second fuel pump replaced 11/01 at 48,343 miles.both failures occurred after the hot wire inside the tank and attached to the fuel pump motor over heated, melted the wiring insulation and scorched the assembly housing and connectors.on the first failure the wire burned completely in to and the pump stopped suddenly.the present failure began intermittently and then failed permanently. It initially failed in heavy traffic on the freeway.

Door locks failed 3 times.
Vehicle when put in gear should lock all door locks. Once while driving the passenger door swung open when it suppose to have been locked.dealer contacted, and stated the door was not closed completely, and accused the owner of not closing the door. The problem still exists, problem cannot be duplicated.
Improperly adjusted hood latch resulted in severe damage to hood, windshield and roof of vehicle.

The dealer was made aware of the failure and diagnosed that the vehicle needed an idle control motor replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 45 mph, the driver's seat started moving backward.eventually the entire seat was lying down and the contact could not reach the pedals.the contact pulled off of the road.the seat was pulled back up in an upright position.the contact thought the reset button could have accidentally been pressed.however, while pulling back into traffic, the seat started moving backward again.the contact drove home by sitting on the edge of the seat.the seat is the reclining position and will not move forward.the passenger seat is working properly. The dealership has been informed.

While in reverse coming out of the driveway brakesfailed.the front brakes were already bad. Upon depressing the brake pedal it went completely to the floor. Contacted the dealer. The problem still remained open.
When applying the abs brakes on dry pavement the pedal traveled to the floor, causing exteneded stopping distance which caused a collision. Dealer cannot identify any problem. Please give any further details.

Fuel tank vapor locks due to faulty fuel cap, rotors rusted, headlight dimmer switch failed.
Consumer complained of brakes pulsating and not braking smoothly, the rotors were turned and the brakes were placed, but this still did not solve the problem, the dealer finally found that the vehicle needed new rotors, the rotors were rusty and pitted and the brake pads had no surface to brake against which put more pressure on the rotors.
The brake tubing is rubbing the stabilizer bar causing wear which will eventually result in instant loss of brake fluid and immediate malfunction of all braking ability.
Master cylinder failed two times, one incident caused collision within garage.
Power steering failure.
While driving up an incline on hot day with ac on i got message no charge, and "engine hot shutdown soon", & ac compressor off! (a no brainer with belt shredded!!) as well as steering going numb. When i looked under the hood the serpentine belt had slipped off the pulleys & shredded.upon closer inspection it was determined that the power steering pump "adapter" has a leak that drips oil directly onto the belt & pulleys which are smooth with nothing to stop belt from sliding off should a leak occurs. I have been unable to find "power steering pump adapter" in salvage yard & its out of production at gm & not in stock at my local dealer.
Multi-function turn signalswitch does not work properly. Also,has an alarm system that goes on when signal is still on. When on left/rightwill not shut off after turning corners. Will be taking vehicle to dealer.

The contact owns a 1995 cadillac deville.the contact stated that the frame was rusted andwhile driving 20 mph , it broke in half. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and they offered no assistance. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who advised him that this was a frequent problem with this vehicle. The failure and current miles were 105000.

Rattle over rough road surfaces due to failed front stabilizer bar.
Severevibration between 50 to 80 mi. Per hour. Have spent over $1000.00 to try to remedy problem. Dealership said they can't do anymore and it must be a manufacturing defect. There is also a very loud popping noise when the steering wheel is turned in either direction. It comes from either side and possibly chassis. At first thought it was struts or bearings. Complete front end repair did not fix the noise. Car has never been in an accident either. There is also a problem with changing gear shift from parking to reverse or drive on an incline. Sometimes it jams and has to be jerked very had to go into gear. Other times it slips from gear to another. Have replaced brakes 2 times. Still has shudder upon pressing brakes regardless of speed. An offensive odor like rotten eggs, especially when using air conditioner. Dealership said they found this a lot in this certain vehicle. They do not know how to fix. It is a manufacturing defect. Owner before me has already replace the ignition module. A dealership said another manufacturing defect. Fuel pump wires were burned and replaced by previous owner. Battery cables also shorted out and were replaced on 8/29/03. Battery continues to be drained if vehicle has not been started within a 3 day period.

Consumer wastraveling 65mph onhighwayand heard a noise. He kept going until he saw the flaps of tire tread separated from tire. Right rear tire was still inflated with air. Michelin, 215/70/15 .he replaced all four tires.the tread on other three tires is still good.

Windshield wipers failed. They will shut off during rain storm and not come back on,have had the same problem with my 1994 cadillac and have not gotten any satisfaction from anyone concerning the problem , guess i'm not suppose to drive when its raining.

Every three to four months i have to take my car in to have the tires removed the aluminum wheels cleaned and buffed and a bead sealer put on because the wheels get dirt inside and it causes the tires to lose there seal. This last time i almost had an accident beacuse of loss of pressure. I have been told this is common with aluminum wheels if so it is a safety hazard.
