Purchased 2003 cadillac dhs from coast cadillac,the next month we had to get a new engine from rancho motors.less than ayear after that we had to get a new computer.my husband had a car accident on july 4, 2009 where he hit another vehicle, air bags did not deploy.aaa adjuster came to diamond car collision in hesperia and stated the car was not totaled.i requested a second opinion and they said they could not total the vehicle.the vehicle was in an accident in 2007 where it was rear ended and sustained major damage.now the sensor is not sending a signal to engine cooling fan and the car runs hot.noone has been able to find the problem.in the last 3 months we smell a strong scent of fuel or fumes.the right passenger door lock has problems.the windows have been repaired on numerious occasions.we had to fix the transmission twice and the motor mount is not leveled properly from repairs of july 4, 2009. Gas mileage indicator does not work properly.i will be reporting this to dept of automotive repairs and filing a complait against aaa insurance.they repaired the vehiicle twice and knew of the safety problems with airbags yet were not willing to total car.we have had nothing but ongoing proplems since we purchased vehicvle and accidents that occured.my husband was not at fault but we sustained inuries during the accident.also dept of automotive repair wanted to come inspect but owner talked my husband into dropping the claim i reported and told him he would do extra work if he didnt call.i feel that their has been some fraudulent incidents that have occured during our lifetime with the 2003 dhs vehicle.my husband is disabled and we can not afford a vehicle and all repairs.

My name is anne avis. I am reporting this defect for an elderly friend who purchased the car in question. She has had to replace the battery 8 times. The car was a demo with 6,444 she now has 16,000. She has taken it in numerous times to michael cadillac and each time they send her home saying they can not find anything wrong, yet she is still getting stuck. The first time she took it in was 1 month after she bought it. The warranty is no longer valid of course. But it wasn't when she took it in for the numerous repairs in the past with no satisfaction. Please help her!!!

Consumer states that when key is in the ignition sometimes the vehicle will not start. Consumer has to try turning ignition 3 or 4 times before vehicle will start.
Electrical fire, cause unknown, stopped at a rest stop, came out from the restroom and the vehicle was in flames. Cadillac dealer said that there was too much oil in the engine and this started the fire.

Fire department was called to put out fire. Dealer was not contacted because the consumer bought the vehicle used.

There is a baffle insulation that keeps the noise level down in fuel tank.this clogged fuel lines which caused engine to shut while driving.the gas tank was replaced and the consumer had requested the manufacturer for reimbursement of the expenses.
I own a 1993 cadillac devillei own a 1993 cadillac deville.i know that this vehicle is more than 10 year old, but i still believe a glairing and significant safety issue exists with this model and that issue is: when there is 3 gallons or less of gasoline in the fuel tank, as indicated by the digital fuel meter, any long sweeping turn (especially to the right) will cause the motor to unexpectedly stop due to fuel starvation.when the motor stops, the power steering also stops functioning and the result can be loss of control by the driver or an accident due to panic.now that i know it may occur any time the fuel is low, i look for it.i've experienced it many times but, it's still disconcerting when it occurs.
Had rolled over a piece of capped tire. The capped tire cut fuel lines underneath vehicle. Vehicle acted like out of gas. Fuel was leaking out of vehicle from cut fuel lines. Will be taking vehicle to dealer.

Tank is prone to rust out due to design of tank fuel is allowed to settle below petcock(petcock designed above bottom of tank) allows water to settle and rust tank.tank rusted out while driving at approx 45mph allowing gas to spill out onto the hot engine.had to pull off rd and use fire extingisher as a precaution to a fire.these tanks have also been known to come from the factory (yr1999-2001) already rusting.kawasaki has in some cases replaced tanks under warrantee and done nothing in others that were still under warrrantee.

While driving , the vehicle began to smoke, the consumer pulled over anddiscovered oil was leaking from theengine block and the trans axle coolant hose was also leaking.the vehicle was towed to a dealer who refused to repair it, the dealer stated there were too many leaks in too many places. The consumer repaired the problems himself. The consumer stated the manufacturer should have taken responsibility for the repairs since there was a recall regarding the same year, make and model.

Anti lock brake system completely replaced- a major preblem was, dealership did not make me aware approx 50% had brakes repaired.i was informed they were aware a $500 part had to be replaced and after that was put on there was another part approx$400 that may have to be replaced, of course that was needed after 1st part replaced .making payment of approx $1500 to replace brakes after labor included.i had a big problem that i had to spend over $800 before they could tell me if i had to come up with another $700.they were well aware i was very unhappy.it is good to see the other vehicles of same make and year with same problem.

Pre drill holecaused cracks onfender down to the wheel well. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that they are aware ofproblem. But nothing will be done at this time.the dealers of 92-93 cadillac devilles are aware that this problem is a factory defect.
Suv and pickup trucks should be modified to watch bumpers of all passenger cars.

Was driving in a 25mph zone when both rear engine cradle mounts broke loose causing the engine to drop effecting steering of said car.had this been on a highway, serious injury could have resulted.
I just came off i70 when i was making a right hand turn==the washers holding the cradle mounts on the rear of the cradle pulled thrpugh the cradle itself rendering the engine tranny assembly on the groundthe steering pulled out of its sleeve and had no steering the exhaust pipe also separated due to the drooping of the cradleon the ground.
While driving, engine dropped from the vehicle, damaging the steering column, and causing consumer to lose control.dealer determined engine cradle failure as cause.
