While driving maybe 6 minutes my center console display would no longer function preventing me from being able to control the radio or air, which both remained functioning and the air bag light came on at the same time. The radio no longer plays but the air still blows. At the time this happened i was driving on a paved road at night going approx. 50 mph.

The driver side airbag warning signs display remains on for several days. When the brakes are applied there's a slight vibration and grinding sounds.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts.the contact stated that the passenger side air bag light continuously illuminated.the failure occurred intermittently.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the failure but had no remedy available.the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 58,521.updated 08/11/14*ljthe consumer stated cadillac suggests new sensors be installed at owner's expense. While i was a passenger riding on a major interstate, in the right front passenger seat, the air bag light (on/off) on the dash/console turned from the "on" status to the "off" status. After stopping we followed onstar's directions to turn off ignition and restart the vehicle and sit in the passenger seat once again. The air bag light stayed in the "off" status. We turned the vehicle off and restarted once again. This time when i sat in the passenger seat the air bag light changed to the "on" status.the following week, my mother was a passenger in the front and the air bag light stayed in the "off" position.last week, another passenger was in the front passenger seat and the air bag light remained in the "off" position.i took it to a dealer while out of town, and the mechanic said that the right front passenger presence module has a short and needs to be replaced. I had the front right headlight assembly replaced, but was uncomfortable allowing that dealer to replace the passenger air bag sensor. I am bringing it to my dealer to have it replaced under warranty.

Car w/ 95,000 miles. Problems at 15,000 miles. Airbag sensors faulty."ecm" (engine control module) replaced but no issues with how the car was running. Told by the dealership "alot" of ecm's are replaced. Is ecm failure common in this vehicle or is it the dealership replacing ecm's that do not need repair to make money? ecm was a $1,000.00 repair to fix a gas smell from the car. New ecmand gas smell is still there. Then told now faulty fuel pump and leak in the fuel line as reason forgas smell. Both dealer and gm have refused refund for replacing ecm that did not have to be replaced. Replacingecm did not fix the gas smell! prior to "ecm " all six of the oxygen sensors also replaced.another costly repair. I have pampered this vehicle since i have purchased it from factory. Very suspicious so many issues needing repair have occurred with this car. Now, ignition switch is being recalled and will need repair.i am left driving my family around in a potentially dangerous car.will my family be the next victim of a faulty gm ignition switch? also the door locks in the rear of the car are faulty ever since i have had the car. The rear door locks jam and the doors won't open from the outside.the dealer in the first three months replaced one rear door lock mechanism. Before i realized my warranty expired the other rear door lock also had the same problem. Gm refuses to fix it. Now an expense of > $400. Having an infant who rides in the back this is concerning that rear door lock jams. Repairs on this 2008 cadillac ctsareendless and should not have to be so numerous considering i have been the single owner of this vehicle and have kept the vehicle very well maintained.i would like to know if other owners of this make and model of vehicle have had similar problems?is there a manufacturing issue??

Dealer ran diagnosis found code that said driver side air bag was bad. This is a car with only 24500 miles on it . Hard to believe it only last this lone.

The air bag light stays on, but cadillac has not done a recall

The contact owned a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving approximately 70 mph, a deer jumped in front of the vehicle. As a result, the contact crashed into the deer. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a broken nose, facial laceration, and a chipped tooth that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Takata recall:my service air bag light keeps coming and off. Also my tire gage ,keeps flashing after my air levels has been check. It will not go off on its on.

My car shows to repair my air bag. Reading on the recall for the ignition recall it can effect the air bag. Two weeks ago i had the key taken care of and now all of a sudden the air bag shows up to be repaired. I will be going into the dealer today to see what is happening. I was told on the phone it could be any where from $300.00 to three thousand. How crazy is this. Looking up the vin number i can't find my vin number if it is a recall for the air bag i do notintend to spend that kind of money on my call for an air bag fix. Please help to ease my mind if my airbag is a recall.

Attempted to start the car while it was parked in the garage, but it would not crank and the dashboard display indicated a problem with the stabilizer. Also, the seats could not be moved, could not place the transmission in neutral, the door would automatically lock, and the lights would flicker off and on. I attempted to use brand new booster cables (positive to positive/negative to negative) at the remote terminals but stopped trying to connect from the charged battery due to sparking as though i was reversing my polar connections; at one point, i saw a flicker of flames and i never started the booster vehicle (12 volt). I had a wrecker attendant to try my booster cables and he attempted to charge with the connection directly to the battery and with the booster car started which created smoke and over heated cables. At the dealership, where the car was taken, i was told the positive cable was useless and the battery had a dead cell. This was very costly. I retrieved my car after about 11 days and parked it directly in the garage. The next day, i attempted to start the car and the same issue surfaced. Had it moved by wrecker again, andi am being told that they jumped the battery and started the car, but had not determine the drain on the battery.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v394000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts.the contact stated that the entire center console malfunctioned and all of the electrical components were no longer functional.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer to have the center console replaced.the repair did not remedy the issue. The failure mileage was 19,000.

My sunroof drain is often clogged resulting in the interior being soaked duringslight or heavy rain fall. Maintenance has been done several times to no avail. Also whenever the weather is warm outside, the back doors will not unlock from the outside or when exiting the car. I always have to manually lock the doors upon leaving the vehicle. These problems have been virtually present since the car was purchased and have become a nightmare. The water log inside the vehicle almost always happen when the car is stationary.

After it rains water leaks from sunroof (not sure) down onto floorboard near the petal.and also into trunk.electrical device inside car does not open trunk even afterhaving it repaired.

There is a water leak occurring from the sunroof. The sunroof drains continuously get clogged. In result, the interior of the car gets extremely wet. This occurred on september 21, 2011 then has now happened in the same exact drain on may 05, 2015.when i started the car after discovering the water for the second time the passenger rear window rolled down on its own and will no longer operate. Who knows what other electrical issues will occur? does this put me at harm? also, now with all the moisture inside the car, this is ruining the interior of my car! the worst part is that due to the moisture in the vehicle the inside of the windows fog up while driving. This is definitely putting me and other drivers on the road in harms way because it is interrupting my visibility while driving and i don't feel safe when this occurs. I don't understand how the drains are getting clogged, i don't park under trees and my car is covered almost year round. This is not acceptable and i feel like there needs to be change.

The vehicle will stall while cruising to a stop light, while at idle and sometime while accelerating. I've read a lot of posts online about this issue but no one has a solution. I got stranded on the highway in the middle lane once too. Gm will not do anything about it. The vehicle is in the shop right now and my diagnosis fee its over $750 and there is still no resolution for this issue!!! this issue is an ongoing issue for years now!!!

Total drainage of power battery drained everything comes on but the ignition has no power.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts.the contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v394000 (electrical system). However, the parts needed were unavailable. The dealer was uncertain when the parts would become available.the manufacturer had not been notified of the problem.the contact had not experienced a failure.

Our vehicle was stationary in the driveway of our home. In the middle of the night the vehicle caught on fire and exploded multiple times. Fire report/investigation list cause as unknown.

The problem started with the timing chain, which led to coil issues and catalytic converters issues which led to low head beams constantly burning out.everytime work is done it causes a chain reaction to other parts in the car that requires more and more money. Now the engine light is still on and i am told that since the first catalytic converter was repaired, the second one now needs replacing and the low head beam on the passenger side has wiring issues that will not allow the new bulb to burn,i am told that the wiring appears to be spliced. The catalytic converter was replaced in april and so was the low beam bulb.headlight was replaced in april, 2015 itis not working today and was told by dealership that the wiring had been spliced or burned out.radio speakers do not work and all was centered around issues with coils and catalytic coverters.

6 months ago the contacts 2008 cadilac cts started jumping forward and stopping. 4 weeks ago the vehicle jerked forward again in traffic and hopped a curb. The vehicle investigated by a cadilac dealer that said nothinig was wrong with the vehicle.updated 1/14/10 updated 01/15/10.

Car sometimes doesn't recognize both electronic key-fobs preventing me from unlocking/locking & starting the car because. Problem recurs periodically. Replaced battery but problem keeps happening. Dealer says they cant duplicate problem.

There have been multiple electrical problems with the cts starting with wiring melt down in the front end.recently, both the driver side and passenger side door latch assembly's went bad resulting in situations where the doors could not be opened from the outside or inside.if there had been an accident, the doors would not have opened and the driver or passenger would not have been able to open them from the inside.

The car has had 7 batteries replaced.it has been towed three times to two different dealerships.when the failure occurs the door lock, the engine will not start, lights will not work, the car is completely dead.the last time my wife went one mile and the lights, radio, air conditioning and doors locked and would not open.she could not get the key out of the ignition.the door was opened and the car sat for two hours.when she went back to the car everything worked like nothing happened.she drove home and the next morning the battery was dead.it was towed to the dealership and the odor of burning wiring was obvious.one week later the dealer service department called to inform me that the fuse block was replaced and the radio caused the problem.the car was leased and i just returned it with 17,890 miles.we went out and purchased another car when they said the wiring and fuse block was burnt.we just let it sit in the driveway until the lease run out.

I was driving in a parking garage so my speed was about 5-10mph when the whole system shut down.the car stopped moving and all of the system warnings popped off (abs, stabiltrack, engine).the car would not turn back on.i had it towed to the shop where i was told that it was an electrical problem.the pcm was replaced and i was told that the problem was fixed. Cost was approx $200. After the original system shut down, i was driving on an exit ramp to the interstate when once again the whole system shut down.all of the system warnings popped up and the car would not turn back on.the car was towed once again to the dealership where i was told that it wasn't the pcm and that they would have to charge me $265.00 to investigate the problem. The problem was said to be the electrical wiring on the drivers side from the front of the car to the back of the car.it was fixed for approx $800.00. Each of the system shut downs happened within 6 months of each other while operating the vehicle.this is very dangerous and makes me feel very unsafe about operating the vehicle.this needs to be investigated for the safety of drivers.

The d/s door will not unlock or open from the outside. Read numerous complaints on same issue and no recall issued

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times intermittently. While traveling on a major highway at an unknown speed, all of the instrument panel indicators illuminated each time the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted after several attempts. The key would also not turn into the on position on several occasions. The windows would roll down on their own on the rear driver and rear passenger side. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer more than once, but the dealer was not able to replicate or diagnose the failures. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

For quite some time now i've been experiencing problems with locking/unlocking rear doors. Rear doors will not lock/unlock with keyless entry or front/passenger door pads. I have to manually cling to back to unlock doors. Have purchased several batteries for keyless remote. Due to doors remaining unlocked i cannot auto start vehicle unless i manually lock doors myself.also computer is not recognizing keyless remote. I have purchased several batteries within the past 8 months. Car always tell me keyless remote not detected. To crank car i have to put keyless remote in middle of console to ignite. Both issues are very annoying and unsafe.

Passenger side rear window rolls down on its own in rain, car wash. Sunroof has loud wind noise. Window goes downwhile on and driving.

Intermittently, the door locks do not lock/unlock with the remote.the safety concern is ingress/egress from the vehicle.

My car won't hold a charge. I buy a new battery and the car says battery saver mode activated. The battery will be dead by morning or if i take it down the road the voltage will start dropping before i get home. When i say down the road i mean less then a 2 miles. After i turn my car off it won't start because the battery voltage will be to low. I've had the battery andalternator check both are fine. Checked to see if their might be lights left on, but nope not even the truck light. So i'm at my end with the car, it's a $30,000 car that i can't even drive. That's a lot of money for a yardornament.

Randomly when i go to start my vehicle it won't start but the battery is good, which leaves me stranded ....and also randomly while driving the traction control lights up saying traction control off along with every light in the dash displayed and making the chiming sound.it reduces the engine power suddenly while at a high speed causing me to swerve in freeway traffic.

My car has been in the shop due to engine issues, now that engine is replaced i'm seeing stabilitrak, service ac, and brake assist lights appear. Also when driving the speedometer is not engaged and car won't shift gears. Codes will not appear when hooked up to diagnostic reader and their is moisture that gets inside my car through the sunroof.

I own a 2008 cadillac cts with awd. I bought it in december 2007. At around 7000 miles in mid-february 2009 my car would not start. The antitheft device was activated. A roadside assistance technician came out. He said it was a defective battery which he replaced. Three weeks later i tried to start the car & received a dashboard alert that the battery registered low voltage and could not be started. The car was towed to the dealer who worked on it for two days. They told me that "maybe" the computer was being turned on when the car was shut off. Their "maybe" answer made me feel they were just guessing. They told me they had corrected the glitch, charged the battery, told me the battery was fine & that the car should be fine now.last night, april 15, 2009 at 10:00pm my dashboard alerted me that the battery was too low to start. I called roadside assistance who could not get it started either. On april 16, 2009 at 8:30am i had to have the car towed into the dealership again. The service technician again said my battery must have a defective cell.this is the same battery that they put into the car 6 weeks earlier that they said was "fine".i am now awaiting their "professional" diagnosis. Do you have any other complaints of this type on this vehicle? also do you know if this car can qualify as a lemon under federal & nj lemon laws?

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled intermittently. The dealer recommended that the contact remove all the items from the key ring except for the ignition key and fob. The contact heeded the dealer's advice, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 14v394000 (electrical system: ignition). The contact also notified the dealer several times pertaining to the driver seat fracturing and collapsing. The seat was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that a bolt needed to be replaced and the lower seat track needed to be aligned. The driver seat made a loud noise. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

On the morning of december 27, 2011 the stability trac system light came on indicating that it had failed.the car did not react properly and the steering wheel was uncontrollable leading to an accident.the car did a 360 and hit a guard rail.the stabilitrac was repaired just a month prior at a cadillac dealership, but still operated incorrectly.this incident put my life at danger and has caused me to believe that the stabilitrac system was not fixed properly at all.a certified mechanic has taken a look at the car and confirmed that the stabilitrac system was dysfunctional.at this point, i don't feel comfortable driving the car, even after it's repaired.my business consists of me driving frequently and i fear that if i continue to drive the vehicle there is a possibility that the results could be worse if the system fails again.

I was driving and there was a nice day and the car just began to swerve out of control after the stability track light came on.

My car has been in the shop due to engine issues, now that engine is replaced i'm seeing stabilitrak, service ac, and brake assist lights appear. February 14, 2020 is just the last date it has happened on. It's happened approximately 30 times. For the past two years if you don't just ease on the gas the reduced engine light and traction control light comes on and the car will not go over 5 m.p.h. I have read several hundred articles online on different websites with people describing the exact same thing. It almost got me hit on the ms. River bridge the other day. If u have to go up any type of incline it does it also. I was accelerating slowly as i possibly could going up the small incline on the bridge that connects louisiana and mississippi. All of a sudden the reduced engine power light came on and i could not get out of traffic that was doing approximately 55 m.p.h. And my two year old grandson was in the backseat. The only way to fix it temporarily is to get off the bridge because there is no where to pull to the side of the bridge. You have to kill the car for a few seconds and recrank it. I've had mechanics look at it and i've had it hooked to the computer at o'reillys. No one can tell me anything. But if it weren't a safety recall why would almost 1,000 vehicles that i know of be doing the same thing. You can google it and see that i'm telling the truth. Lots of these cars have the identical problem. I'm currently looking for a newer model between 2014-2018, but i'm afraid of having the same or a similar problem. This is definitely a recall. But it seems to me that you all do not want to do any recalls on these cadillacs. I've been to lots and lots of websites and i have not found anyone who's been able to figure out the problem. Even the ones that have had it put in the dealership have still yet to figure out the problem. It has to be electrical or one or more sensors malfunctioning. Thank you for your time.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving various speeds, the stability system warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle failed to stop immediately when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to cadillac of arlington (located at 2001 n collins st. Arlington, tx 76011, 877-880-5178) where it was diagnosed as needing new tires and brakes. The contact stated that all four tires and brakes were replaced, but the issue persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer four times for the same failures, but they failures could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.

Miss firing of spark plugs

I brought a 2008 cadillac back in sept. 2014.april of 2015 i had a crankshaft sensor went out on me three times all three times i took it in to roth cadillac of erie pa and i also contact cadillac headquarters at the same time. I pay all three times. They fixed the sensor and repaired the wiring harness all three times. It seems like every 3-6 months it would break down. We were told by the mechanic at roth cadillac that they got a memo about this problem. But wasn't going to do a recall on it.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving 50 mph, the contact heard an abnormal clinking noise coming from the engine. The sound usually occurred when the vehicle accelerated. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the technician diagnosed the vehicle and the "timing chain" message displayed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 34,053.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the traction control warning light illuminated. The vehicle started to slow down independently and stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle control sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The car only has 35000 miles on it. The engine misfires constantly when giving gas especially if your going up hill and there is more load on the vehicle. After i had $5000 worth of work to fix the problem at a cadillac dealership. They couldn't fix the issue so they came back and said that we needed a new engine. We told them over and over again that we don't think it's the engine but they guaranteed us the new engine would fix the problem. So another $5000 later and still not fixed. The vehicle idles fine, it only happens while driving. The check engine light eventually comes on indicating misfires in 2 cylinders

Car has failed emission testing for 2 consecutive years since i purchased it. After driving for the better part of a year i took it to a dealer in 2018 and explained that check engine light comes on and off persistently.they tested emissions and said it passed.again in 2019 it failed emissions again and the dealer provided a diagnostic test which indicated that time chains needed to be replaced. Estimate for repair $3900.00. In short problems have existed for approximately 3 years. This complaint is correct from previous filing number:11174923

Cruise control will randomly turn off and will be unavailable for a few days then come back. Engine seized up out of nowhere while driving down the road and nearly caused an accident due to it locking up while moving.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. When the contact attempted to drive the vehicle, it failed to start. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed of the manufacturer's recall number: 10287. The vehicle was later taken to elco cadillac (15110 manchester rd, ballwin, mo 63011, (363) 227-5333) where it was diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced and the vin was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

First incident:when driving, engine would loose power, engine light on, fuel pump replacedsecond incident: two weeks later, driving car and engine shuts down, no power, no brakes, no power steering, gas mileage to empty was at 68 miles.replaced fuel gaugesthird incident:one week after replaced fuel gauge, engine shut down while driving, no brakes, no power steering, and gas mileage read out was 69 miles.fortunately, we were at a standstill in the middle of the road and the car restarted, went to gas station, filled the car with gas, it took 14.7 gallons, the cts gas capacity is 18 gallons.dealer doesn't know what the problem is.just waiting for a solution.this is a major safety concern that needs immediate attention.

Code p0430 cam or crank shaft position censor. Timing chain issue caused by manufacture defection. Rear driver side passenger seat belt not working properly. And leaking moon roof

Error code kept occuring, had to spend $3000 recently and have heard frm mecanics this happen often on 2008 cts cars. Alveitiming chain was stretched causing cam fault, actuator was leakinging oilcode as occred before, but mechanic said to wait

Although i loved the car overall at the time i decided to own, , my dream car cadillac cts has turned into my dream nightmare. Cadillac cts 3.62008when i get on it a little bit acceleration it makes a sound that sounds like all air leaks inside the car. The dealer was reported ever since my first early visit to service center but it's only during my last visit to the dealer they mentioned gm has sanctioned approval ie.at the time the odometer reads 65000km? strange!the door locks are terrible?despite rectifying; time and again by your dealer the problem still persist to date.safety hazard indeed. The computer had error as for tyrelow air pressure very bad on safety standards.on 12th aug2012while i was en-route to the cadillac service centerthe vehicle had a break down. On the display screen near odometer it displayed engine temperature too high ?.due to this i had to pull the car towards safety and got stranded in the middle of the road under the hot sun.how can you justify a car which is regularly maintained by your authorized agency at regular periodic intervals to have such a fate? i felt it was good to have it serviced during my absence in town before the regular km interval; but, only to get stranded on the road in the hot sun. It is indeed, too much to suffer after buying a car of gm flagship brand < cadillac > and suffer agony on the road side.not to mention the dealerships warranty you provide with the purchase of the new car from your authorized agents, probably don't fix anything with the warranty service program. If the job was right then the engine should not have over heated especially when the car is just run 71000 kms. Approx...

Check engine light on. Failed emission testing. Diagnostic testing indicate a trouble code 2008 and recommends replacing timing chains. 74,000 miles

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving 45 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there were cracks in the bearing on the drive train, which needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where it was still being diagnosed. The local dealer (alaska sales and service anchorage, 1300 e 5th avenue, anchorage, ak 99501) was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact filed a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

I had a recall or 'extended parts warranty' for a timing chain on my 2008 cadillac cts and was replaced by the dealer at 115,000 miles in 2015, my car now has 130,000 miles on it and the timing chain is broke again! i put only 15,000 miles on the car since the timing chain was 'fixed'. The dealership refused to work with me or give me a phone number to a gm regional representative to talk about my options. I feel the car was not fixed properly or was fixed with the same defective part. I would like some information on what i can do to fight this there is no reason a recalled part should fail just 15,000 after being fixed.

Check engine light appeared on my 2008 cadillac cts. Vehicle brought to dealership. Issue appears to be acylinder head and cam failure. Still not repaired. Vehicle still in shop since 2/26,vehicle has 2600 miles on it. 4months old.

Shortly after the purchase of the vehicle it started shutting off while in motion. This happens unexpectedly, and mostly when slowing down for a stop light or to reduce speed. This is an on going issue, which have been reported to general motors, who informed us to take it a number of dealerships on several occasions, but all services performed has proven futile. My family has had many close death experiences because of this problem, but general motors refuses to address the matter in depth. I have contacted several law firms for assistance, but all refuse to help because no one has been injured or died as a result problem.as a disabled veteran i'm very worried about this issue because i can't afford to replace this vehicle at this time due to my injuries.

Engine service light came on - dealer diagnosed problem was caused by a stretched / loose timing chain.dealer reported 1,000s of 2008 cadillac ctss with the 3.6l dy engine experienced the same problem.nhtsa should invest problem since how the timing chain fails could cause a serious accident.

I have a cadillac 2008 cts with 24,000 miles on it. The check engine light came on and i took it to my local cadillac dealer. They stated they could not fix the problem and i had to take it to the selling dealer, don massey cadillac. Problem:the check engine light came on and i immediately took the car in. My local dealer, allen cadillac in monroe michigan stated there were two problems. The timing chain was stretched according to then and the cam and crank shaft were defective. The car is currently in service.i was told by the service tech that this is a common problem with the 2008 cadillac cts and that dealer had seen over a dozen cars with the same problem.gm has not issued a recall. When i took the car to don massey cadillac (selling dealer), there were six other cts cars in for service at the same time as mine.although gm is supposed to fix this under warranty, why have they not issues a recall?this is an over $50,000 car with 24,000 miles on it and it will have to have the engine rebuilt.this is the second major repair to this car. This past december, a clip that holds the wiring harness in place snalled and the wiring harness got wound up around the fan and was torn to shreds and had to be replaced.with this many major problem on a car with 24,000 miles (i put on all 24,000 of those miles), what is in store for be when the car has 34,000, 44,000 and beyond miles on it?

My 2008 cadillac cts v6 di awd has a dangerous acceleration lag when you step on the gas to pass or get out of the way of a hazard in road. There is about a 1-2 sec lag between stepping on pedal and rpms moving, and about another second or so before any pick up happens. Doesn't sound like much, but no other car i have had, did this. At the speed of oncoming vehicles, a 1-2 second lag can mean a30 - 60 yards of distance being traveled by an oncoming car or truck. That sight fills up rear view mirror fast. In my opinion, this is a serious design flaw and potentially death causing defect. This happens anytime i need quick acceleration, and is also happening in other cars i tried at dealership to see if it was just mine.

1. Car stalls/hesitates on right turn.dealer service could not replicate.problem started at ownership, and continues at 25k miles. Problem not corrected.2. Check engine light: car vibrates/shakes standing at idle.21 days out of service. 3 dealers; four visits.one dealer could not extinguish check engine light.dealer disassembled engine and made repairs. (exhaust is noticeably louder (not repaired) and the fm radio will not work when the rear defroster is switched on--i suspect a ground wire was broken during the repair (not repaired).

@ 6,000 miles on my 2008 cadilliac the veh.'s engine light came on.we took it directly to the service center & they stated that the cylinder head and cam shaft will need to be replaced. I was told that this is a common problem with the new cts's. I have not heard or read anything about this. Can you advise if there is a recall? thanks...

Car sometimes doesn't recognize electronic keyfob preventing me from locking the ignition prior to exiting the car.leaving the car with the ignition unlock is a violation of many states' motor vehicle laws.other times car will not let me enter the car or start the car because it doesn't recognize the electronic keyfob.problem recurs periodically - sometimes a few times a week other time operates fine for a month or more.

Car sometimes doesn't recognize both electronic key-fobs preventing me from unlocking/locking & starting the car because. Problem recurs periodically. Replaced battery but problem keeps happening. Dealer says they cant duplicate problem.

During the day my right headlightdoes not come on.there was a recall on this but i was told my vin# was not included in the recall.i don't understand, if i have the problem, why would they not include my vin# and repair the problem.

Led brakelights on 2002-current cadillac models are too bright and cause temporary blindness at night.

Low beam headlights periodically will not light when ignition turned on, or they can go dark after working correctly, or only 1 or the other low beam light might go dark then come back on, while driving.

Cruise control will randomly turn off and will be unavailable for a few days then come back. Engine seized up out of nowhere while driving down the road and nearly caused an accident due to it locking up while moving.

While driving my 2008 cts, with no advance notice, the engine just died.it seemed to run out of gas.my fuel gauge read between 1/2 to 3/4 full.this happened 3 different occasions.all 3 times i had to have it towed back to the dealership that i purchased the car from.all 3 times i got different reasons it happened, from bad fuel pump in gas tank, to some type of bad connection, etc.after this happened the 3rd time, i demanded a new car, which i received.i have had no problems with this cts, runs great.

Strong smell of gasoline was coming from rear of vehicle.upon inspection, a crack and leak in the plastic supply line of the fuel pump module was found.this caused fuel to spill and settle on top of the fuel tank which results in a dangerous condition and possible fire hazard.this issimilar to a previous recall (12v459000) on 2007, 2008, 2009 gm vehicles that did not include cadillac.

Driving up a hill in pa.we were on state highway 118 near sweet valley pa.car bucked and jerked violently.car stopped running in middle of roadway with traffic backed up behind me.eventually cars worked their way by me and i was able to drift car back to a place where i could get it off the road and out of the way.very harrowing experience.very unsafe.car was towed in as it would not restart.tow truck driver also tried to restart to move car to optimum place to put car on flatbed.car would not restart.after diagnosis the dealership said that:car only had 3 gallons of gas in tank and this was not enough to get up hill.gas gauge showed between 1/8 to 1/4 of tank.no low fuel light.the dealership said that itmight not happen again, but that it could.after returning to my home in fl i took it to the selling dealer.they called cadillac and cadillac agreed with both dealerships that there was nothing wrong but that due to the design of the gas tank, the car could stall going up a hill at any time unless a significant amount of gas was in the tank.they would not define significant.they said that gas had sloshed to the rear of the gas tank and the gas pickup was sucking air.they say that after car was towed 30 miles on a flatbed gas sloshed to the front of tank and engine could be started.they said that nothing could be done.this is a very, very unsafe condition.the guy behind us almost hit us as we decelerated rapidly. And then a whole line of cars almost collided.cadillac says that nothing can be done.i say that something must be done to protect drivers of all 2008 cadillac cts.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving various speeds, the odor of fuel was present inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that fuel was leaking from the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

While the vehicle was parked, a strong odor of fuel emitted from the exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000.

I took my car to have it service and the technician said the gas tank is leaking from the top. My car is a awd and this will be a costly repair. Why is there not a recall on a dangerous common problem?thanks

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that while park, fuel fumes emitted in and around the vehicle. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician was unable to locate the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact noticed a strong fuel odor in the vehicle without warning. The odor was affecting the contact's breathing. The dealer provided no odor testing and the failure worsened after the timing belt was replaced. The manufacturer provided no solution. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving 35 mph, the contact smelled fuel inside the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ritchey cadillac (located at 932 n nova rd #101, daytona beach, fl 32117, (386) 675-1019) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 73,271. Consumer stated gm models 2006,2007 and 2008 were recalled but cadillac should have been recalled.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact smelled fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that fuel was leaking from the fuel pump on top of the fuel tank. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 115,000.

14v542000 was a recall on 2004-2007 cadillac cts for fuel leak above the tank.this 2008 model has the very same/similar leak and is not included in the recall?why not?same problem, very dangerous.numerous complaints it looks like if you search internet about the 2008 cadillac cts fuel leak.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While the vehicle was parked, there was a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v542000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. Immediately after pulling the vehicle inside the garage, a very strong fuel odor was present. The fuel odor seeped inside the house. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that a line in the fuel tank failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.

Car was towed to dealer.repairs findings included a melted fuel pump harness and fuel pump inoperative as a result. I feel under certain circumstances the results could have been catastrophic resulting in damage, injury, or possible death.

The fuel pump fuel feed line has developed a leak and is spraying fuel creating a fire hazzard. On top of the tank sits the fuel pump. On the fuel pump the feed tube connects to the fuel line which then goes to the engine. This leak created a fuel odor and got progressively worse. I found dampness on top of the tank, which was gasoline. Upon my further investigation i noticed the fuel spraying out of a pin hole sized crack. This is similar to a recall issued on other gm vehicles in the past and i feel the cadillac cts should be included. I've notice other people having the same issues via an online search at cadillac web forums. I performed the repair myself but it is a very labor intensive and expensive repair for a non capable person if done by a dealer or repair shop. We are talking about a 6 hour job because the rear frame, differential, exhaust etc must be removed to access the gas tank. A major issue and safety risk in my view. The leak will occur whenever the car is on as well as off since the fuel system is under pressure. When car was parked - my garage smelled like gas the leak was so bad.** i have photos and video and will upload at a later time.** this car is a perfectly maintained vehicle and still appears brand new - no abuse or other issues caused this defect in the fuel pump module.

Vehicle refused to start multiple times after refueling. Had a diagnosis done and the code was for the evaporator sensor. I had it replaced and the same thing happened again, to include thesame code.

Our vehicle was stationary in the driveway of our home. In the middle of the night the vehicle caught on fire and exploded multiple times. Fire report/investigation list cause as unknown.

The car smells really bad like gas at the rear of car from gas tank underneath car and looks like a leak from top can not see were from exactly.

I was traveling at 25mph when there was a sudden very loud explosive/grinding noise(it brought people running out of adjacent buildings). I hit my brakes immediately, but the noise continued until i put it into park. I exited the car and under the rear axle of my vehicle were multiple large bolts and screws lined up in a row. The vehicle was totally disabled, and subsequently was towed to the dealer. They determined that all the rear axle bolts just fell out at once.there was no other damage found to the vehicle.my concerns remain as to "why did this happen" and "what if i had been going at an accelerated rate of speed"? multiple experienced mechanics and specialist (including cadillac) have no answers to these questions and have never seen this happen before.

Every time i put gasoline in my car, it does not automatically start. I have to try 2 or 3 times.

Car front doors will not unlock with auto or manual unlock, once unlock door will not latch lock at all! had to hold door shut for 20 miles at 1am in the morning after going to a wedding reception in philadelphia, pa.

The passenger side door will "not" unlatch from the outside with or without the keyless remote. All access has to be done by opening the door from the "inside" door handle.

D/s door lock will not open outside with remote control or handle. Must use key. Have research and found numerous complaints regarding this issue and no recall was established.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle slowed down to approximately 30 mph. The traction and "satellite off" indicators illuminated. The failure recurred three times and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic each time. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000. The vin was not provided.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that after shifting into park, the vehicle rolled away independently. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,500.

The cars engine runs away with my car when i am sitting with my foot on the brake or at very slow idle with my foot on the brake.the problem is one that needs to be recalled.the internet is full of the same complaint for the same year and mileage,( 29,000-32,000 miles ).i am reaching out to you because my car is at the dealer, nothing has been done to fix the problem, and i refuse to take my car back at this point.i paid cash for this car and this is the second time it has been in for the same problem.on monday afternoon i pulled into my bank with cars in front of me and beside me. I came to a stop, had my foot on the brake and all hell broke loose. My car lunged forward, my engine was screaming, my speedometer said 80 mph, i had both feet on the brake to not hit the woman in front, my rear wheels were smoking and screaming and my car was jumping side to side because of the spinning wheels and nowhere to go because at this point i am standing on the brake with both feet.someone screamed turn off the ignition and the moment was over.courtesy chevrolet in salisbury md, just called to say the problem didn't throw a code so cadillac won't pay them to look and fix the problem.if they won"t fix what's wrong they can keep the vehicle and i want my money back and as i told them i won't stop until i get someone to listen and warn others of this problem.i have researched the internet and this is a very serious problem widespread and these cars need to be recalled.my husband says it's probably a problem in the computer that when the precise pressure is applied to the brake, the signal to the engine is go not stop.

I brought my vehicle in for service due to an audible "clunking" coming from the driveline. When the service manager shifted the car into gear in the service bay there was an audible "clunk" to which he stated that it sounded like my driveshaft was "coming off." i left the car and went to lunch. 30 minutes later i was told that my vehicle needed a new transmission and transfer case because the transmission output shaft was"stripped" and the car would not move on it's own. The service manager told me that they had taken the vehicle out for a test drive and that pulling back into their parking lot there was a bang and then the car would not move anymore and that they had to push the vehicle back into the garage. In researching this issue i found a technical service bulletin put out by general motors for this exact issue in other 2008-2013 cadillac cts models equipped with all wheel drive. I also found that the root of the problem is that there is no gasket or barrier between the transmission output shaft and the transfer case input shaft. This allows water and/or moisture to get into these components causing corrosion which leads to the "stripping" of the transmission output shaft. Gm has created revised components to allow for a gasket between these components, but this requires a complete tear-down of the transmission and transfer case. I am now forced to pay for a new transmission and transfer case on the vehicle (because i still have a lien on it) and cadillac and/or gm are refusing to recognize this problem or help in covering any of the repairs. There are multiple complaints regarding this problem from other cadillac owners.

For the fourth time a wheel speed sensor malfunctioned. I was turning left across traffic and all of the sudden the stability control light started blinking and my speed was limited to about 5 mph, putting me in danger of being t-boned. After about 15 seconds of this the car finally figured out that something was wrong and lit up the service stabilitrak, service brake assist, and service traction control warnings and allowed me to accelerate again (exactly as it's done three times before when wheel speed sensors have gone out). This is a massive safety issue.

While trying to park, the steering wheel becomes stiff.i took it to the dealer to correct problem and it cost me $2,558.35 to replace steering pump and to get a wheel alignment.a week later i had to take the car back to the dealer for noises after applying the brakes and they had to replace both control arms and stabilizer links to correct problem. That job cost me $1,362.93.in april 2013, my front passenger door handle didn't open from the outside. The dealer had to replace the inside door handle housing split, trim pad and handle housing.this job cost me $1,376.99.not sure why i'm having all of these problems when i get all the required maintenance and all jobs are done at a gm cadillac dealership.

On april 8 2016my wife was on the way to the bank at peach and liberty in erie pa. She was stopped at a red light when the light turn green she had no transmission or brakes. Luckily for her the emergence break worked because she was going backwards. Had it towed to roth cadillac in erie pa. Was told that the transmission and transfer case broke (there was no warning) and they didn't know why the brakes went out when the transmission went. Soagain my wife contacted cadillac headquarters and my wifegot an email from cadillac headquarters saying sorry for your problem but we will give you one hour of diagnostic for free. And from the dealership said this been happening a lot.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving 35 mphwith the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I found a bolt laying in my driveway under the car.when i got in to drive it made a terrible noise as though something was loose.i took it to dealer and they said a bolt fell out of the driveshaft and the driveshaft needs replaced at a cost of approx. $900.i called gm to find out why a bolt would just fall out and why the driveshaft would need replaced with less than 38k miles and they could not answer me.they did agree to work with dealer and get my cost down to $400, however, i don't think i should have to pay anything since this sounds like a design flaw.i have never owned a car where bolts just fall off for no reason and i've had 10 year old cars with more than 100,000 miles on them.gm did not seem too interested in discussing the problem and said i should talk to the dealer.the dealer, of course had no answers since they did not manufacture the vehicle.

On the morning of october 19th, while driving approximately three miles from my home, an incredibly loud banging sound shocked me into stopping the car on the side of the road.it felt as if something was going to come through the floor and into the interior console of the car.panic-stricken, i didn't want to move the car again.when i called my husband, he instructed me to drive extremely slowly to the very short distance of a local mechanic's garage.upon inspection the mechanic found that the bolts on the driveshaft connected to the transmission were never torqued when the car was built at the gm plant.my mechanic informed me that the bolts unscrewed and fell into his hand without using a wrench and several of the bolts were sheared off, causing the driveshaft to come away from the transmission and almost penetrate the floor of the car.needless to say the entire driveshaft had to be replaced with a new driveshaft.when this occurred the mileage was only 70,751 miles. This service was performed by blessing's service llc, 19 west shore trail, sparta, nj 07871 at a cost of $1,024.39.all other service performed on this car prior to this incident was performed by mechanics at my dealership, brogan cadillac located in totowa, new jersey.

The passenger door does not open from the outside of the vehicle. The motor for the door lock failed. The driveshaft bolts broke and make a "flapping" noise when the vehicle is driven. My mechanic cannot find the replacement assembly and was told by cadillac that it is unavailable at this time. Operating the vehicle is dangerous because the vehicle fails to accelerate in traffic. I contacted gm/cadillac about the problems and was told there is nothing they can do because my vehicle is not under warranty and the door lock issue was on recall in 2013 and has expired. My concern is if i am involved in an accident with a passenger, first responders may not be able to safely remove the passenger because the door will not open from the exterior handle.

Vibration in car above 62 miles per hour.steering wheel shakes in your hands.taken to dealer twice they have rotated and balanced tires twice no improvement.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving 25 mph and depressing the clutch pedal, it failed to respond and the pedal traveled to the floorboard. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and waited thirty minutes for the clutch pedal to retract to its normal position. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

Code p0430 cam or crank shaft position censor. Timing chain issue caused by manufacture defection. Rear driver side passenger seat belt not working properly. And leaking moon roof

The front drivers seat frame on my 2008 cadillac cts is broken.this could of caused a serious problem if it dislodged.i am having it fixed today @ cadillac at a cost of over $800.i have asked that the dealer to put the seat frame in my trunk if needed i can send it somewhere.even though there is 60,000 miles on the cars, this is not a part that should break.

This vehicle has been leaking water and nobody knows where the leak is coming from. Whenever it rains, there is a pool of water on both the driver's floor mat and the passenger's floor mat on the driver's side. You can also witness water coming down from the rearview mirror. Also, the driver's seat has sunk in and is no longer operational. I have called cadillac motor company regarding these defects and all that i was told is that the vehicle is out of warranty.i tried to explain to them that this problem is acommon occurrence with cadillac vehicles because i experienced the same issue with my cadillac eldorado. The problem with my cadillac eldorado was so bad that i had to get rid of it. I bought the 2008 cadillac cts and after many years, i started having the same problem.the water leaking issue and malfunction of the driver's seat can pose a deadly risk to the driver. If the issue that i am having now is the same issue that i had with my eldorado, then, there is a problem with the design of these vehicles. Cadillac must be asked to look into these issues and have them corrected before it is too late for the unfortunate drivers like me.

The articulated headrests designed to reduce neck injuries in a crash, move up of their own accord during normal driving. This results in a safety concern. If the headrest moves up during normal operation, will it still function as designed should an accidentoccur. I have contacted cadillac division twice without a response. The selling dealer service department does not know what is causing the problem, but other cases have been reported.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that when shifting into reverse, the brakes became difficult to depress. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,134, and the current mileage was 76,400. Updated 7/14/15the dealer was able to duplicate the problem after letting the vehicle sit overnight. An auxiliary vacuum pump was installed per bulletin 07-05-22-003. Updated 07/21/15

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle would rattle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was informed that the front struts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the check engine, the abs and the traction control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the electric control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, she depressed the brake pedal but the it was hard to engage and the vehicle would not stop. The contact stated that she pumped the brake pedal several times before the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection of the brakes and they stated on the invoice "no bulletin and nothing was wrong with brakes".they did state if you want to bring vehicle in and leave over night we can inspect brakes when cold.the dealer called the contact and stated that vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The vacuum pump was replaced on march 14, however, the failure continued to occur.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

The driver side airbag warning signs display remains on for several days. When the brakes are applied there's a slight vibration and grinding sounds.

I was driving and heading on a curve i didn't see that it was 25 mph and i was going about 45 and i brake and i slid, hit a tree about three fists thick slide on my drivers side which is completely smushed in and rolled over and fell straight into a ditch up side down.

Brake squeal on my 2008 cts almost from the time it left the dealer showroom on september 15, 2008.dealer states that cadillac is aware of the problem but that cadillac has yet to authorize a fix for the problem.dealer indicates that ceramic brakes would correct the situation but once again cadillac does not have replacement ceramic brakes for the car.they have them for other models but not the cts according to the dealer.

Rear brakes grab and squeal. This happens every time brakes are applied. Had vehicle checked by dealer for brake problem. 2008 cts cadillac with 3500 miles, 4 months old. This was on 12/30/08. Was told by dealer on 1/12/09 no parts available from gm.

A few weeks after purchasing the 2008 cadillac cts the brakes began squeaking every time they were applied.service department said to ride the brakes when on the highway to clean off the metal filings on the brake rotors due to brake dust.did not fix problem.brakes have continued to squeak for months despite riding brakes on open highways.

I took the car in and they let me go with the abs light on and the stability track light on. If i knew the that this car was undrivable with these safety fixtures out i would have never picked up the car.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts.while driving 2 mph with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle accelerated.the contact struck the preceding vehicle.the front bumper needs to be replaced.the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.the powertrain was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 1,500.

Brakes screech when coming to a stop. They have done this since shortly after delivery of car which is almost one year ago. First time the dealer was notified about thisthe service writer informed me this was "normal" and nothing could be done.another service writer validated the complaint and replaced rear brake pads. Seemed to be better for a very short time, but it started again and continues. Have continued to inform dealer of this every time the car is serviced without resolution.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While driving approximately 25 mph, the brakes were squeaking; however, they were operating normally. The dealer was been unable to diagnose the failure since january 2009. The current mileage was 13,100 and the failure mileage was 6,000. Updated 12/10/09. *ljupdated 12/10/09

Drove on a street with a 2" snow cover.after about 25 feet received a number of alerts on my driver information center stating: 4 wheel drive was off, anti-lock braking system warning, service stability traction system, service brake assist.immediately called cadillac service who stated snow could have dislodged some wires, bring it in for service.since many all states get some snowfall cadillac needs to redesign the wiring so a small about of snow doesn't disconnect critical vehicle functions.

Brakes squealing.technician says it's defective brake pads and gm is aware.no get well date.right front strut had to be replaced, still makes the same creaking noise.

Power steering sluggish and monitoring message came on on turns around 20 mph & above. Took to dealer and they are needing to replace the whole system. Is this a known , but not communicated issue

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that while pulling out of a parking space, the steering wheel seized as the vehicle accelerated but loosened as the vehicle decelerated. The service power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was driven at a very low speeds to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering actuator failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the steering gear however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.

Purchased 2008 cts upon driving car home i noticed a vibration.took back to dealer next day.had to wait 3 weeks to get service on vehicle and found out at that time there is a service bulletin on this car and the dealer is not to try to fix car.went to gm and they agreed to change tires but this did not fix the problem, the vibration continued.trying to come to some sort of agreement with gm and after 9 months, nothing.took car back to dealer for tire rotation and requested "road force balance" and the problem got worse.the vibration starts at 40mph and the steering wheel is shaking.the problem is either with the wheels or the tires.

I have a 2008 cadillac cts. I have a vibration or shimmy in my steering wheel at about 65 mph, numerous attempts have been made to balance tires. Two new tires were installed and roadforce balanced. Still not resolved. I have seen quite a few complaints about this same problem.

Steering is hard had rack and penuin replaced along with power steering pump now will not start because of repairs been in shop 6 weeks at dealership last two weeks

Steering has become hard to turn been in shop 6 weeksreplaced rack and penion and power steering pump now will not start

While in the process of making a slow speed <10 mph right hand turn the steering wheel locked up. The vehicle engine did not stall nor lose electrical power and no icons appeared on dash display to indicate a problem. The steering wheel unlocked when brakes were slammed on to prevent crashing into building.after this car was operable and able to be driven to parking area without incident.when key was removed from ignition it was bent, apparently from steering wheel trying to go to locked position.vehicle was driven to dealer a distance of approximately ten miles without repeat of problem.dealer kept vehicle approximately one week trying to replicate problem driving it approximately 100 miles without incident.dealer replaced ignition switch but admitted that they could not say the switch was cause of the problem.refused to accept vehicle feeling if problem reoccurred again at higher speed danger possibly existed to any occupants of this or any vehicles near it. Dealer then agreed to buy back vehicle.dealer was very accommodating but agreed that manufacturer did not appear supportive or concerned.

Vibration in car above 62 miles per hour.steering wheel shakes in your hands.taken to dealer twice they have rotated and balanced tires twice no improvement.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. While the vehicle was stationary, the electrical system failed and the control panel became inoperative. In addition, the power steering failed and the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn left or right. Kuni chevrolet cadillac (2449 fulton avenue, sacramento, california 95825, (916) 538-7217) diagnosed that the power steering pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall for the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

Service power steering message comes up on drivers info system and steering gets very hard. Last time it happened i was pulling into a parking space, the steering got very tight and the warning chime went off. I had to hit the brakes or risk hitting a parked car. I took the car to my mechanic who scanned the system and reset it. 2 days later it did the same thing again as i was going around a corner at about 20 mph. I am taking the car to the dealer but when i do take the car in, i'm told that i need to trade it.

2008 cadillac cts..gas pedal is to close too brake pedal. It is very easy to hit both pedals at the same time. No accidents with the vehicle at this time.

The car is leaking water inside and inside the trunk and it is molding, the car is soaked of water ,this is dangerous

2008 cadillac cts blind spot in side mirrors. Consumer states that the side mirrors create a blind spot. He states that the a pillar makes it difficult to see if there is someone in the crosswalk while trying to make a turn.the consumer stated the flaw is a blind spot resulting from the placement and size of the side mirrors and the size of the a pillar.

The brake pedal is too close to the gas pedal.the driver can hit them both at the same time.the defect caused one accident and i have had the same experience without an accident on several other occasions.gm has refused to do anything and has refused to put its refusal in writing.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front and rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Vehicle water leaks that pool on floorboard, causing mold

Purchased vehicle in 2/08;12/10/08 - noticed car was wet in floorboards and ceiling;since 12/08, dealership has attempted to repair vehicle 4 times;car is still leaking;dealership replaced several parts and called a specialists to try to solve the problem;dealership admits they cannot correct the problem;the manufacturer has offered a trade option to me with me paying money out of pocket;at the present time, i am unsure what the amount will be, but any amount is not acceptable.

I was driving and heading on a curve i didn't see that it was 25 mph and i was going about 45 and i brake and i slid, hit a tree about three fists thick slide on my drivers side which is completely smushed in and rolled over and fell straight into a ditch up side down.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated that rear passenger door would unlatch independently while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the door assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000 and current mileage was approximately 105,000.

Finish up on previous complaint concerning front door latches on 2008 cadillac cts4 that will not allow front doors to open from the outer latches setting up a dangerous situation in case of accident or fire. The dealer that diagnosed the problem didn't seem to take it toserious, a mere $1800.00 should fix it. Hope you people realize the possibledanger involved here.thanks

Front doors on 2008 cadillac cts4 , especially r.fhave become harder to open overlast 2 years. The r.f door at times will not open from outside latch, have to enter car from l.s. And open r door fron inside. This is extremely dangerous in case of accident or fire.dealer wants $1800.00 to repair. I have been a gm fan for 60 years and from previous experiences with gm, have

The moon roof leaking water into the cab as well as holding water in the trunk door causing excessive mold build upthe vehicle sits over night in the rain and fills up with water

Trunk lid will not open with remote device or by depressing the drivers door trunk release.you can hear the trunk latch engaging but will not release.attempted to open via the back seat pass thru by pulling on the emergency trunk release handle and this failed as well.

Brakes squealing.technician says it's defective brake pads and gm is aware.no get well date.right front strut had to be replaced, still makes the same creaking noise.

Code p0430 cam or crank shaft position censor. Timing chain issue caused by manufacture defection. Rear driver side passenger seat belt not working properly. And leaking moon roof

The d/s door will not unlock or open from the outside. Read numerous complaints on same issue and no recall issued

My sensors all came up, saying they were bad, i replaced them and the check.engine light is still on. I was told its my timing chain and that the recall just expired. I never received a notice of a recall or i would have had it done before it expired. I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden its bogging down and lagging when pushing the gas and the check engine light came on.

Takata recall:my service air bag light keeps coming and off. Also my tire gage ,keeps flashing after my air levels has been check. It will not go off on its on.

Intermittently, the door locks do not lock/unlock with the remote.the safety concern is ingress/egress from the vehicle.

The moon roof leaking water into the cab as well as holding water in the trunk door causing excessive mold build upthe vehicle sits over night in the rain and fills up with water

Driving in a 45 degree morning on smooth road, no over head items, the sun roof glass panel exploded into pieces, raining glass throughout the car.i was driving straight on a township road, weather was pristine.the sunroof was something i rarely use, and not engaged in months.there was no bumps, nothing was struck, nothing hit the car or roof. There was no explanation for why this occurred, and no antecedent problems with the sunroof or its prior (albeit remote) function.i have pictures but unable to load them onto the file at this time. .

After backing the vehicle in to a parking spot i wanted to straighten it out.when i put the car in drive there was a loud shrilling noise (sounded somewhat like brakes peeling) and the car accelerated forward with my foot on the brake.i pumped the brakes in an attempt to stop the vehicle but every time i pushed the brake the car would buck forward. In a matter of seconds the vehicle crashed in to a wall.this whole incident was less than 10 seconds.i would like to note this was a loaner vehicle.i would also like to note that the floor mats for this vehicle were in the trunk of the car and cardboard with plastic wrap over it was being used in their place.i don't know if that had anything to do with this but wanted to make you aware.the vehicle instantly began leaking fluid and had to be towed to the dealership.the tow truck driver made a comment that there was something wrong with the vehicle. Twice ,while driving my wife's 2008 cadillac cts, my foot has wedged both on the accelerator and the brake pedal causing me to proceed forward while attempting to brake. The first @, 6 mos ago ,caused me to proceed into an intersection narrowly being missed by a vehicle coming from my left. The2nd occurred @ 1 week ago causing me to just miss hitting a car parked in front . My wife had a similar incident @ 6 mos ago while backing out of a driveway. I have reported both incidents to cadillac with no further communication from them. They gave me this site when i requested an agency to report this problem so i might help others avoid being injured.i will not drive my wife's car in the future due to the above incidents and the fear of a more onerous outcome when it happens again.

I was driving my sister-in-law's 2008 cadillac cts home from work one night in december.i came up to the street out of the mall parking lot and put my foot on the brake to slow down.suddenly, the engine took off and revved up to around 4000rpms, so much i could hardly hold it with the brakes.iput in park and reached down to feel the floor mat to see if it was on the accelerator.it was not.i turned off the car.the next day, i took it to the gm dealer.i don't think they believed me because they could not repeat the condition.they had me leave the car and they said they would look at it.the next day i picked ut up.they said that they had re-programmed the throttle body control unit.i left with the car and proceeded to exit the lot.just as i got to the street, it took off again, revving to about 4000 rpms or so.i immediately went back and told the dealer what happened.they stared at each other and shrugged their shoulders.they never fixed the problem.i am convinced that this is a software issue in the throttle control system, just like toyota is dealing with.if my wife had been driving this car, she could have been seriously injured.this is a very serious problem and needs attention immediately,.it is not just toyota.

I was driving my cts cadillac when with no warning i heard a loud noise, i pulled over to see what it was i saw that my rear window had shattered nothing had hit my window i drove straight to the cadillac dealer and they informed me they can not repair it with out having me pay for the cost. I went online and searched and found that this type of incident had happened before on gm models and was listed on the tsb and it should be replaced.i am so upset that i can't get a straight answer.

Drivers rear view mirror will not return to original position when switching back to park or drive.mirror creeps upwards and has to be manually adjusted to proper position.dealer has worked on this problem no less than 5 times and says they cannot do anything else.

The contact owns a 2008 cadillac cts. The contact stated after rainy weather conditions, there was an accumulation of water on the front passenger's side floor board. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer in two different occasions. The technician stated that the sun roof had to be realigned. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 7,990.

I was driving and heading on a curve i didn't see that it was 25 mph and i was going about 45 and i brake and i slid, hit a tree about three fists thick slide on my drivers side which is completely smushed in and rolled over and fell straight into a ditch up side down.
