Purchased this car from chevrolet dealership. 5-21-2016. Noticed a message when i started car following day saying ' service airbags"
While parked and when vehicle is running and either front or rear passenger doors are opened then closed after being seated in the passenger side front seat, an intermittent dic message states"service air bag. The indicator light stays on for a few minutes then goes off. Also received on-star diagnostic alert message. Had vehicle serviced at dealership 4-9-19. No trouble codes came up on obd reader. Car returned to me on 4-10-19. On 4-16-19,problem reoccurred same circumstances, no on-star alert message this time. Light stayed on longer then cleared. When entering garage for my apartment bldg, which is on a slight incline, dic and indicator light came on again and remained. I parked my vehicle and shut it off. I waited a couple of minutes and restarted the vehicle. Both the dic message and air bag warning indicator light came back on. I shut the engine and contacted the dealership. I was told by the dealership that it would be difficult to diagnose the issue unless i arrive there with the condition occurring at the time i was there. The closest dealership is about 35 minutes driving time from my home.
Chevy cruze service side detection module was recalled. Buick verano uses the same part. My buick showed service side detection. The design allows water and salt to interfere with the performance. It shut down my car. Enabled my antilock theft system and all voltage systems shut down. The car proceeded to drive erratically. I was advised online by a buick mechanic to unplug the device. My car is drivable again. This is a safety issue. I paid extra for the blind spot detector. Even if i replace it the design will allow it to happen again. It is not protected where it is located and it sends voltage error codes off(all voltage codes) service airbags, service everything. I have pictures as proof. Proof of the conversation advising me to disconnect it and a read out from a local gm dealer showing every voltage code failure.
Upon starting the car we have no working guages. The temperature and gas level don't work. And the following error messages show up on the dash. Service air bag, tire monitoring system, front camera, parking assist, side detection system, and theft deterrent system.the car it basically undriveable. The blinkers do not work, heated seats (though that is minor) radio stops working. We don't know what the temperature of the engine is, how much fuel we have and how fast we are going. There is only 68,800 miles on it. When i call the dealership (they're the only ones with the technology to look at this and troubleshoot) they tell me it's a few hundred dollars just to run diagnostics. This is ridiculous that the car is this unsafe to drive but i have to pay to diagnose it. Then i find out just to replace the side detection system will cost me like $700. I can't imagine what it would take to fix this bigger issue. I'm forced to pay to have diagnostics run at this point because i can't have my wife and daughter driving around in this vehicle when it's this unsafe. I also have a video i can upload if needed. But for now i took screenshots of the video and will upload them. What can be done on stuff like this? i appreciate your time, jason
The contact owns a 2015 buick verano. The contact noticed that the air bag indicator was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2015 buick verano. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated while driving at any speed. The vehicle was taken to twins buick gmc (614-515-4194, located at 960 morse rd, columbus, oh 43229) where it was determined that there was no failure with the vehicle. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact rented a 2015 buick verano. The contact stated that the keyless ignition failed to turn off until several attempts. On a separate occasion, the engine started independently however, the contact was able to enter the vehicle and turned the engine off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000. The vin was unknown.
I purchased my buick verano on 12/29/2017. During the first while driving myeletricalsystem just shut down about 2-3 times. In the second year it started happening more often while making a turn or just going aroun another vehicle. From july to august the electrical system shut down about 5 times in about a 5 week span which made it very hard to steer the vehicle and all of the radio screen shut down also.this issue has me worried because at high speeds if this happens it will be very hard to control the vehicle. I have noticed that this is a common problem with this vehicle. Has the car dealers acknowledge this issue and what do they recommend to do?
Certain systems of my car while i am driving will shut down.for example i will be taking a turn and the power steering will go out.other things that seem to shut down either at the same time or separately are the radio/ screen, the cruise control, blinker, ect.this has been an issue especially when i am turning and the power steering goes out.i looked online to see what may be the problem and noticed plenty of other people have had these issues as well with no one being able to find a solution.
The service side detection system (ssds) maintenance light appears on my dashboard and remains unless i cancel it out by pressing the menu button on the turning signal.both sides of the vehicle cannot accurately detect when vehicles are approaching and passingā€¦the ssds indicator lights in the side mirrors come on and off randomly.currently, my left mirror indicator light remains lit even when the vehicle is turned off.the problem started with my fanā€¦it stopped blowing air.i made a stop and when i restarted my vehicle the fan started again.this problem started about 6-8 months ago.nowā€¦it is getting worstā€¦i am getting errors on all my systems when i start my car.yesterday, i couldnā€™t turn my car offā€¦finally when i did, i couldnā€™t start it.i was not able to engage the brake pedal and couldnā€™t turn over the vehicle.i remote started the vehicle; however, when i tried to actually start the vehicle by pressing the engine start button it would not turn to greenā€¦now, unable to turn over the car completely and again unable to turn off the car i utilized the remote to shut the engine off.this morning, engine turned on and only the ssds light came on and theft detectionā€¦fan blower going off and on randomly.a recall is needed.
The left side blind side alert failed.when driving home the light on the passenger side mirror stayed on.when i got home it was on.the next day it was off and no longer worked.
It all started with the side detection system. Told me to have it serviced, as i was on the high way the electrical stated going crazy. Gauges going back and fourth constantly, radio turned off, fans turned off, and blind spots kept blinking. The mechanic found a corrosion issue. They were able to unplug it but it also made it so my rear brake light on the right would not work (which is illegal). It would cost me over $1,000 to fix this issue since the corrosion isn't covered by the warranty. This vehicle was made with a faulty item going out of the factory that way. I am appalled in gm for letting a vehicle go out on the street this way.
Car failed to start with remote key. When tried to start with the key the cd ejected, and it wouldn't start. I used a battery pack to jump start the car. I then had a error message displayed saying "service theft deterrent system"
The car stopped, i got a boost and it immediately cut off again, had it towed to shop, they stated it was alternator so i purchased a new one and it died again, purchased a new batery and still dead. The recalls showing electrical problems for 2013 and 2014 but i have a 2015
Right side passenger blind spot detection does not work and "service side detection system" error message now appears on dashboard.upon review this appears to be the same issue that affects the chevy cruze of same year for which campaign #n172097060 was issued in april 2019.the sensor module seems to have failed due to poor design that allows water to get in easily.(the verano is virtually the same car).
The car constantly has the same error stating that the ac is off due to high engine temps. Even when first started in the mornings. Last week i was driving and the car showed an error stating that the stablitrak needed serviced. It then jumped lanes and left the road. I lost steering capability as well and my screen for the radio and such keep blacking out and rebooting over and over.
I own a 2015 buick verano convenience with only 28,000 miles. About a month ago i noticed the right side detection indicator on the mirror acting sporadic. Coming on when there was no vehicle in my blind spot, and not coming on as it should. After noticing that, the service side detection message displayed on the center counsel. I contacted the dealer i bought the car from and they basically told me it's a very common problem because of the placement of the sensor modules in the bumper that collect water, snow, salt and causes corrosion. A very poor design for a safety feature! approximately $1,000 to fix! i did purchase an after market warranty with the vehicle, but i believe it will not cover this because they have a clause about corrosion. I decided to just turn off the feature from the setting panel and just call it a day, seeing i have been driving for 50 years and never had to rely on a side detection system to view my blind spot. Now i get two messages when i start the car'side detection system is off, and service side detection system. Well anyway, yesterday while i was driving, the indicator light on the right-side mirror came on, but the system was off. The light still stayed on even with the car shut off. After a while of driving and turning on and off the system from the settings, the light finally went off. Why would that light come on when i manually turned off the system? do i need to pull the fuse for the side detection system? i am just afraid that this is going to create other issues with the vehicles electrical system and become a safety problem. There was a special program gm initiated in april of 2019 to fix this problem, but only for the chevy cruze. The buick verano and chevy cruze are basically the same car. Is there anyway the buick verano can be added to this gm program? bulletin #n172097060thank you!
Blind side alert failed.water sand and dirt gets inside.
Side view mirror warning system stopped working.

Gear shift release switch cover broken causes car to 1)not go into park mode2)goes into physical park mode but ignition switch is locked and does not release keyplease compare to recall number 16v50200 or buick recall numbers 50490 and 50491 for 2013 - 2014 and 2016 - 2017 buick veranos, why was my model year vehicle skipped?
Electrical system is unstable causing ac operation problems, fan motor problems, engine overheating problems, remote door system problems, all at once while moving or standing still. This happens on city streets, roads, freeways.
The lights on the dashboard work, and nearly every service light and message pops up. None of the gauges on the dashboard work including the speedometer and gas meter. The turn signal works but doesn't show it inside the car. The radio has to be turned on manually when getting in and out of the car. The radio will randomly shut off when driving. I've been sent away from dealerships before with no answer claiming that all modules are giving a reading so they do not know what the problem is. My cruise control has shut itself off a couple of times while driving. This car is a 2015 and is far to new to be dealing with a safety hazard like this.
Service side detection light came on, blind spot warning lights malfunction even when system is turned off. From other reports this is due to a design flaw of the sensor that allows it to corrode quickly/easily. Please issue a recall, many have had this issue.
Gear shift release switch knob broken : causing not going into park or in park position but engine won't turn off due to not being in park.there are not replacement parts available.
The contact owns a 2015 buick verano. The contact stated while her vehicle was parked, the key could not be removed from the ignition. The steering wheel was locked. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to todd wenzel buick gmc of davison (1146 s state rd, davison, mi 48423, (810) 515-8778) where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.
The contact owns a 2015 buick verano. After parking the vehicle, it failed to restart without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire theft device needed to be replaced. The contact mentioned that the dealer was charging $596 for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Blind spot detection sensors become corroded due to being exposed to the environment.this is a faulty design and an expensive repair.gm refuses to acknowledge the problem even though the system can fail at anytime without warning and cause an accident.when the sensors become corroded, they could also cause other problems with the electrical systems in the vehicle, though this has not happened to me yet.i've two[2] sensors fail while the car was under warranty, and now the 3rd one have failed, while the car is out of warranty.big dollar fix the buick is cleaning up on.

Was passing other vehicles and the engine just shut off and would not restartlost steering and decelerating at a high rate, trucks allowed me to get off to the shoulder and car remained non starting. This was a rental from enterprise.

The contact owns a 2015 buick verano. While parking at a restaurant, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle lunged more than five feet across two concrete curbs and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000. The vin was not available.
(please see included picture) both headlights show what appear to be fine cracks on the inside of the lenses kind of like a starburst appearance. This starburst is affecting the headlight beam and making it harder to see while distracting oncoming traffic. General motors has a tsb#02-08-42-001i that identifies the known manufacturer inconsistency. It is obviously a known fault. Even going as far as stating going through an automatic car wash can cause the lenses to create the starburst appearance. This should be a recall by general motors. They should replace the lenses with a stronger more reliable product. The most dangerous part is the issue may not be readily known by the consumer due to the cracks not being easily seen unless the sunlight reflects a certain way through the lenses. As seen in the picture, there are many fine cracks refracting the light. It is a major concern knowing tens of thousands of vehicles are on the road with these kinds of lenses.
2015 buick verano. Consumer writes about safety hazard regarding directional signal in the verano operating silently. *as
Service side detection system light came on out of now where, before it came on a few days prior there was no one infront of me, i was in the freeway ramp getting on and it had the avoid forward crash alarm chime and pop up on the dash. The following was sent to gm in response to their letter of sept 2016we just received a letter from gm that borders on being stupid.the letter tells us the accelerator pedal stalk may break off, rendering the vehicle inoperative.it goes on to tell us not to take the vehicle to the dealer unless we believe the vehicle has this problem.please explainhow this belief process works prior to a disabling failure? surely gm has identified what production dates had the defective part installed. What are supposed to do, wait until we are left stranded by the part breaking. Please rethink and revise the instructions you sent out. I expect more explicit instructions.i will be sharing my concerns with the federal regulatory authorities

While my wife was driving the car, the electronic parking brake came on causing the car to come to an ubrupt stop on a city street.it did not turn off until my wife turned off the engine, restarted it and shifting through the automatic transmission gears.the car has been at henry brown buick in gilbert, az for over a month and they have not been able to figure out the problem. General motors has refused to do anything further about the problem.this is a life-threatening issue with potential grave consequences if the brake came on again on a highway or in traffic.
Steering feels like it wants to lock up on long trips. I traded in a 2012 verano for the same problem. Dealership took over a month to get parts, so i traded it in. While driving on the freeway, it feels like when you try to stay in your lane, you barely move the steering wheel, and it feels as though it wants to lock up. Not a comfortable feeling, cause it can turn toomuch and cause an accident, death.
My 2015 buick verano shakes/shudder between 15-20 mph. The shaking cause the car body and steering wheel to shake. I have went to two dealerships and the defect isn't fixable. After doing some research i've found other verano owners with the same issue. Seem like there is no solution to this very scary defect.

I was driving normally, slowed down to make a left turn and the steering wheel locked up on me. I could not turn at all. I was in a lane of traffic at the time but fortunately on a private street. I called the buick dealer and they suggested gm roadside assistance. I called gm roadside assistance and it took 2 hours for a tow truck to pick up the car. I had the flashers on the whole time and the battery was dead when the tow truck driver tried to start it. He jumped it and the steering wheel was still locked. It was towed to the dealer. The dealer told me the pin fell when it was not supposed to. They are checking out the car now. Thankfully i was not on the freeway or anywhere else as it could have been a disaster.
The car constantly has the same error stating that the ac is off due to high engine temps. Even when first started in the mornings. Last week i was driving and the car showed an error stating that the stablitrak needed serviced. It then jumped lanes and left the road. Vehicle's paint is damaged. Under normal sun exposure, this vehicle has extreme hairline scratches throughout. I have taken my car to the dealership and want to blame this on animals. I do not own animals that climb on my car. On hood, roof, and trunk.the rest of the car is perfectly fine, which is strange. I have encountered more than 10 cars with the same issue. There is no reason that a 4 year old car, within normal sun conditions, should have its paint deteriorate at this rate. It is embarrassing and the dealership refuses to repaint. I still have the note on the car.

Problem with the sidewalls of your low profile contiprocontact tires. These came equipped on my wife's 2015 buick verano as oem ' p235/45 r18.in the past 60 days, she has had 3 of these tires become damaged, go flat and have to be replaced due to damage to the sidewall. Additionally, my mother-in-law has also had to replace one of these tires on her 2015 verano. My wife's tires had between 18,000 and 22,000 miles on them while my mother-in-law's had 7,500 miles.my wife's ' she is 61 ' is driving back and forth on the interstate to work and home about 50 miles per day. Of these 50 miles, 5 is not interstate and secondary surface roads. My mother-in-law is 83 and drives to church, doctor, and store. Neither are speeding, driving recklessly or causing more than normal wear and tear on these tires. Both vehicles are also garaged when not being driven.in each case, the sidewall was damaged at the exact same location and the damage was identical. A cut in the exact same place about an inch long at a 60-degree angle to the tread. With the first and second tires, i though my wife had possibly hit something. However, after the 4th, that is not possible for all four tires to have the same damage in the exact same place. Additionally, i have noticed on several buick forums, a large number of owners with the same problem.i do not know if it is the cold weather or what, but something is wrong.
Both side detection sensors of my 2015 buick verano are both inoperative in under 5 years after purchasing brand new vehicle. "service side detection system" message persists. Gm mechanic said there was water present in mounting brackets for both modules and there is no communication with either one. Car has never been in accidents and service advisor agreed that problem was due to a design flaw. There is no visible damage to indicate a problem, since the sensors are hidden. Sensor module failure seems to be a common occurrence in gm products, since i was told that there was a national shortage on sensor modules and that repair would have to happen in the future. Repair estimated at $1200+. After i expressed my dissatisfaction to the service advisor, i was told that gm was willing to reduce the repair cost by $337. I refused the repair, since i believe this safety equipment failed as a result of the design and should be recalled and repaired by gm.
Left side object detection module malfunction. Indicator in mirror quit working without warning while in traffic.. The right side failed last march under the same conditions>>>while in traffic!!!
Right side object detection module malfunction.indicator in mirror quit working without warning while in traffic.
The gearshift does not always work you have to wiggle it around to get it to work and the thing that you have to push back is very loose and this just happened lately i'm not sure if there's a recall on it but something needs to be done with it so it's easier to put your car in park
Car shakes when shifting into 2nd gear.blind side alert malfunctioning

On jan 11@ 8 am.i got stuck (stationary) in the snow and the 2015 buick verona caught on fire. The entire car was completely burnt.this event happen500 ft off the us 550 mile marker 135.
2015 buick verano.consumer writes in regards to vehicle sudden acceleration accident.the consumer stated when she shifted the vehicle into drive, she removed her foot from the brake and the vehicle took off without her applying the accelerator. She attempted to apply the brake, but it failed to slow or stop the vehicle. Instead, the vehicle picked up speed and the steering became loose and delayed and therefore, she was unable to accurately steer the vehicle, without the ability to stop or control the speed, the vehicle proceeded to go through a stop sign and crossed over a major highway, jumping a curb across the road. She continued trying to stop and steer and finally the vehicle turned left and crossed back over the highway and into her neighbor's front lawn. The vehicle struck a lamp post, drove through a small wooden fence, a bicycle, lawn furniture and hit a tree head-on.when the consumer hit the tree, her head went through the windshield, her right hand was fractured and her left hand was broken.

Upon starting the car we have no working guages. The temperature and gas level don't work. And the following error messages show up on the dash. Service air bag, tire monitoring system, front camera, parking assist, side detection system, and theft deterrent system.the car it basically undriveable.
