The contact owned a 2014 buick verano. While attempting to place the vehicle in reverse, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. As a result, the vehicle independently accelerated and caused both a front and rear end collision. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact's wife sustained injuries to the neck and arm that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an insurance lot and then later towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 400. Me and my friend was sitting in my buick and all of a sudden the indicator says passenger air bag off and the dic says service airbag and the red airbag light came on in the instrument cluster.

Passenger air bag often displays 'off' when passenger is present and sometimes displays 'on' with seat belt warning displayed with no passenger present. This occurs with vehicle in motion. Dealership stated 'this is a frequent problem. We fixed 2 last week'. Cost for repair is $1148!!!!

Takata recall7/31/2018 t bone accident by driver who ran stop signsustain head injuries and concussion blackout taken to hospital by ambulance from injuries air bags did not deploy under medical care

The contact owned a 2014 buick verano. While driving approximately 30 mph in heavy rain, the vehicle slid and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

The air bag light flashes on and off on the passenger side, both in motion or stationary. It started doing this for no particular reason. It is a known problem with these cars, it is caused by a manufacturer error when putting together the seats. The problem is that they limit the fix to only cars under 72,000 miles. My car does not have an excessive amount of miles and i haven't done anything thing to cause this to suddenly start malfunctioning, yet it is. This is a safety hazard caused by the manufacturer, that has nothing to do with how many miles are on the car, yet they won't fix it.

Everytime i push on the gas no matter what speed i'm driving my airbag icon goes off, then the service airbag warning comes on the dashboard. I hit the menu button to turn it back off but soon after it comes right back on. I took it to the dealership and they said it's a recall.

Electrical problems- vehicle shuts down on its own. At random! when i am able to bring it back up theproblem no longer exist and can't be traced. At random my services lights pops on and off!. Emergency parking breaks locks on their own and i can't drive the car properly. Gears shift on their own which caused damage to the windshield and body.! i was driving when the gears shifted. The vehicle would not wouldn't accurate when my foot was on the gas.i was rolling and because my accelerator pedal wouldn't work i pulled over to the gravel next to me vehicle and the gravel flew up and broke my windshield and did a little body damage. I contacted gm and although there are numerous complaints and special coverages they denied my claim after doing an cdr report and i never reported to be in a crash!

My transmission is slipping. I am having so many problems since i purchased this car. Electrical, lights, the air system.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. The contact stated that while driving, the driver's side air bag warning light illuminated. The warning light would flash on and off. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer just rudely dismissed the contact's concern and told him to call a dealer. The failure mileage was 95,000.

The contact owned a 2014 buick verano. While driving, the contact's two year old child wanted the rear windows rolled down. The contact looked up and noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over, removed the child from the vehicle, and attempted to extinguish the fire. The contact stated that the fire was coming from the rear window. The fire grew too large and was out of control. The fire department was contacted and they extinguished the fire. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was totaled. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist because the contact turned the vehicle over to her insurance company. The dealer was not contacted. The cause of the failure was not determined. The failure mileage was 72,000.

Side detection modules keep burning out making my vehicle undrivable. Location of module is under rear bumper and is not protected by the elements. In snowy wet weather, causes failure.when module is burned out, nothing will work on vehicle. This is the 2nd time this has happened in one year.

Car would shut off when coming to a light slow to go when pulling off stalled had it fix at john miles buick last summer now it started back .car seem to shift gear on it own radio go dim them bright up by itself .john milessay they can't find the issueauto start on key chain do not work all the time even when you change the batteries

Purchased this vehicle january 2015.at this time i now have 73000 miles on it. While driving the wrench and lightening bolt flashes on and off really fast multiple times and the car began to jerk. It only lasts a few seconds but now it keeps doing it and im scared it will cause an accident.i took it to my local buick dealership and they said no codes were found, but my battery test failed so i paid for a battery replacement.however the battery that was replaced was only a year old! even with the battery replaced it still happens and we cannot figure out why.what would cause a battery to fail in a years time? what would cause that specific light to flicker and the car began jerking. No codes are showing up on their system so they cannot figure out why it is happening.and of course it doesn't happen when they drive it for a bit, but it happens when i drive so they cannot see what it is doing.

Radio shuts on an off as i drive. The engine shuts off while driving and i have to pull over to a safe area, it's so scary and unsafe.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. While the vehicle was parked, it would turn on and off by itself. The failure also occurred while driving 45 mph. When the contact was attempting to return home, the vehicle cut off in the middle of the road. The contact had to wait fifteen minutes to restart it and drive home. The dealer (ray laethem buick gmc, 17677 mack ave, detroit, mi 48224, (313) 886-1700) and the manufacturer stated that they could not find any failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Same issue i see multiple gm owners having.service side detection system malfunctions after multiple repairs.have had sensors replaced multiple times.i have had to every year at least if not every six months.initially under warranty, but now no longer under warranty.i understand vehicles have issues, but the same issues over and over again is not okay.i have had where it shorts out my entire electrical system while driving.i literally feared for my life.even the dealer acknowledges this is a known problem with gm service side detection system.it can happen at any time.it has never been longer than a year before the issue come up again.i am not even able to drive the car because of the issues the service side detection system causes.either i lose all electrical in the car or it drains the battery so i cannot start the car.i honestly do not feel safe driving this vehicle.i only see the option once to indicate when it happened, so i will put the most recent occurrence.

Driving on the freeway, i inadvertently lightly brushed across the engine start stop button while reaching to touch something on the navigation screen. The car immediately turned off. Luckily it was not rush hour and i had two of my grandkids with me, from the lane to the right of fast lane i was able to maneuver the car off an exit and coast up to the top of the ramp, pulled over not knowing if i would need a tow of my brand new car or what. There were 4 lanes of traffic and i had no control of cars coming at me from the rear. The steering and brakes did not lock up. You cannot very well put the car in neutral and step on the brake at that speed to restart the car, as i was told that i should have done. There should be some sort od safety cover over the button or more pressure should be needed to start or stop. I reenacted the incident in my neighborhood parking lot and it is very easy to stop the car in motion, you still cannot start it without stepping on the brake. I notified my dealer and they said i should notify you.

This is second incident of same failure; of car stopping running while driving on freeway. ( odi#10606705) the location and ease of turning the car off while in motion is very unsafe. I was going approximately 73 mph when i reached up to redirect the left center air vent away from me. In turning the wheel for control of air speed undoubtedly my knuckle grazed the on/off starter button and the car odometer took an immediate drop to zero. As i stated before you cannot put the car in park or neutral, step on the brake pedal and restart the car at interstate speed. I reenacted this in my neighborhood at slow speed and the same thing happens. The on/off button should not be ina group with all the other buttons, it should be placed off to the side and separated from them by asection of dashboard material. This is a very shocking experience and one that is totally unexpected! i can see what could occur if a person were in heavy traffic and could not get out of the way of semi's etc. Please let buick know about this defect !!!!!

While driving at approx 70 mph my knee bumped the key/ignition and the car turned off.i believe the key actually turned in the ignition.this appears to be the result of the combination of the location of the ignition switch, the design of the key fob and the key chain and tag that the rental car company uses.i was driving on the interstate in moderately heavy traffic.i had the cruise control engaged so my foot was not pressing the accelerator.i had the sole of my shoe flat on the floor and my knee bent. I was approximately 3 hours into a long trip and idly shifted my position.somehow the key chain, fob, 2nd key and tag had aligned in such a way that my knee was able to bump them and apply rotational leverage in such a way as to turn the key from on to off.fortunately, i was in the left lane on a relatively flat/straight section of interstate and there was a wide paved shoulder. I put on my flashers, moved onto the shoulder and was able to steer and brake well enough to stop the car safely.i was then able to restart the car and continue.i have pictures available of the key fob/chain arrangement.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The contact was able to obtain an onstar report with the diagnostic trouble code. The dealer was notified of the failure and the code, but still advised the contact to have further diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the dealer to diagnose and repair the vehicle. It was unclear as to why the dealer had not addressed the dtc information that the contact provided. The contact was waiting on the dealer to provide a repair solution and was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact restarted the vehicle and was able to resume driving; however, the failure recurred a mile down the road. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty and could not be repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.

The side detection monitor kept saying needed to be service, then it progressed to it not turning off, and now all of the gauges on my dashboard states that it needs to be serviced: airbag, theft deterrent system, and the tire monitor system. In addition the heat will turn on and off and so is the radio.

I've only had the vehicle a year some change.parking break light comes when i turn the car off and goes away once i put it drive or reverse.power steering locks on me when turning especially on the highway which is so dangerous.also so many electrical problems with the computer in the vehicle that cause the door to lock and unlock on its own when i try to put on my fog lights the engine may rev up

The side detection system has failed so i no longer have mirror blind spot protection. The problem is also causing problems with the instrument cluster failing. The issue is exactly like the one covered by bulliten 16-na-178 for other gm vehicles of the same model years which use the same system. Gm should recall all the cars that used this system, not just some as it is a serious safety issue as the whole cluster can go dead while the car is being driven.

Car will not start. Battery totally dead. Could not even get the key out of the ignition. Aaa came and jumped battery, found no cause or reason for the problem. Car is used every day; this problem was found in the morning after sitting in the garage all night. No sign of anything left on or anything causing the dead battery. Battery took charge and car perform well during the day (today).. This has been reported by others on this model and also on 2012 and 2013 verano models.

The contact leases a 2014 buick verano. While driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted and was able to drive, but the failure recurred. In addition, all the warning indicators randomly illuminated and all the door locks went up and down. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the leasing mechanic who diagnosed that the wiring underneath the vehicle was loose, which caused all the warning indicators to illuminate. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred two weeks later and the vehicle was taken back to the same leasing mechanic where it was currently being repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 179,000. The vin was not available.

On multiple occasions my cars electrical system will randomly fade in and out and shut down while driving. This is most evident in the power steering, radio controls and air conditioning. I have tested and replaced both the battery in the alternator.i have also brought the car into the dealership so they could run a diagnostics. Nothing can be identified as a central problem, but the issue still continues. It is very dangerous as i loose my power steering while turning. This happens on short trips and long trips and many times while on the freeway at high speeds.

The radio turns off and on, a stabilitrak warning sometimes comes on, the vehicle loses power and the car turns off which then locks the steering and then the car will turn back on by itself.this happens intermittently when driving in town, on the highway, turning, at any speed, regardless of whether the gas tank is full/low, with and without any accessories plugged in, and regardless of the outside temperature.this issue makes the car very unsafe to drive and it is scary when this happens.first occurrence was 8/3/18.

My car stops everytime i stop or when i put it in reverse and my check engine light it on.

2/15/2020 as i was leaving work at 10:08a.m as soon as i pulled out of parking lot and started to go my car shut down. I was going probably 23 mph: the steering wheel locked, pedal went to the floor, everything cut off. Thank god i was able to put it in park. I was blessed to not be in heavy traffic and could coast to the curb as i fought with the steering wheel to get out of the street. I tried several times to start it and it wouldn't, i got nothing, the car was completely dead. The keys wouldn't come out but i figured it out. Husband came, took out battery and took it to get checked out, it was 100%. I called a roadside service to have it towed to chevy, where i bought it in 11/2015, but when my husband was reconnecting the battery the car came to life. I called and cancelled the towi, drove her home no problem; however, something is definitely wrong 😕this care is getting traded soon no more buicks for me🙋

My wife and i were travelling south on i-95 in philadelphia in our 2014 verano t w/keyless ignition. I was driving, and reached up with my right hand to adjust the center left vent. After adjusting the vent, i noticed that the a/c had turned off, and that the tachometer had fallen to zero. I then realized that i must have brushed against the start/off button (located next to the vent) and inadvertently turned the engine off.my wife (who drives the car more than myself) had previously related to me that she had accidentally shut the car off twice before on neighborhood streets, so i quickly asked her how she had managed to start the car again. She said that she had to pull over, put it in park, and push the start button. Well, since we were doing about 60 on i-95 in heavy traffic and in an area without shoulders on either side, this was going to be no mean trick and possibly suicidal. I tried to start the car by putting it into neutral and pressing the start button, but this only resulted in the gauge needles sweeping from left to right and the car did not restart. With no viable alternative, i put the flashers on and managed to maneuver through the traffic to the far right lane.saying a prayer, i then brought the car to a stop in the speeding traffic, put it in park, and restarted it. It was truly a miracle that we weren't rear-ended during this ordeal. When our breathing had returned to normal, i asked my wife to check the owner's manual (which i had read) for any procedure to restart the car under the circumstances that we had just experienced and she reported that there was none.between the two of us we have 92 years of driving experience and i consider myself an enthusiast. Our opinion is that the start/off button is in a bad place, unprotected, too sensitive, and that touching it accidentally causes unwanted engine shut down with inadequate warning to the driver.

I was driving on the highway on january 2 at 218 afternoon goin 70-74 miles an hour.and the car turn off i put my foot to the floor not sure if the cruise turned off car was off i lucky was able too pull over safely i turned the car back on i call the onstar operated and the ran du agonists and found nothing.which i find unbelievable i am going to subordinate buick on monday 1-4-2026 in taylor michigan.

When vehicle is in drive mode and moving, one may want to utilize the "favorite radio station" button.the "start/stop engine" button is located directly above the "# 1 "favorite radio station button".and directly below the "favorite radio station" image on the touch screen.when depressing the "#i favorite radio station" button it is easy to accidentally touch the "start/stop engine button.this same result can occur when trying to utilize the image of the "#1 favorite radio station" image on the touch screen. When the engine stops while the car is in drive and moving, the "driver information center" displays a "put engine in park to start" message. The transmission can only be put in park when the car is stopped. This could present an extremely dangerous situation on the highway!!

I was driving down the road and the vehicle went totally dead with no warning

My transmission is slipping. I am having so many problems since i purchased this car. Electrical, lights, the air system.

My power steering sensor is on as well as the stability trak sensor.

A warning that says "service stabili trak" appears at the same time it feels like someone is grabbing the steering wheel.the control screen where the radio is blacks out completely also.it lasts from a split second to several seconds but it renders the driver helpless to control the vehicle.this happens while driving straight, turning, brightening headlights, using electronic window buttons...or just while driving and using nothing else.i have taken it twice to the dealership where i bought it and they say that they have updated modules and changed the power steering motor but it seems to be worse not than before.

The side detection monitor kept saying needed to be service, then it progressed to it not turning off, and now all of the gauges on my dashboard states that it needs to be serviced: airbag, theft deterrent system, and the tire monitor system. In addition the heat will turn on and off and so is the radio.

Stabilitytrak came one also my air conditioning stopped working and my transmission is vibrating and my back up camera has detection.

Radio shuts on an off as i drive. The engine shuts off while driving and i have to pull over to a safe area, it's so scary and unsafe.

This is my second complaint. My wife forgot to press the stop engine button again because of a distraction.as a result she burned a quarter tank of gas while she was gone from the vehicle. Why is there not a safety shut off like the ten minute shut off in remote start mode? if this was in my integral garage i could be dead from carbon monoxide. Is this another shove it under the rug like the gm key scandal. Since so many vehicles are going to this technology why hasn't this been looked at? my wife is only 61 and in good health. What of the older folks with problems to do?

Actuator has gone out at 28,000 miles which has to do with the timing chain.it sounds like this is a design issue with the verano.it is in the shop and has been for two weeks.

Engine cut off with no warning sign, symbol while driving down the road.coasted off the road, had vehicle towed to mechanic.took three quarts of oil to register on stick.oil and filter was changed about a month and a half ago.again, no low oil pressure, engine service light, etc.no warning just stopped running.was on a rural road, had this happened on the interstate or highway it would have been horrible.the mechanic says the engine has lost compression and recommends a new motor.dealership and manufacturer say no warranty left on the vehicle and no recalls for this vehicle have been issued.

With the new push button start-stop there is no safety shut off. My wife became distracted and forgot to press the button and locked the car. When she returned from her event the car was still running.this has happened to her twice now. The remote start has a run time of only 10 minutes. Why can't the car havethe same safety factor. If it had been parked in my integral garage under my bedroom i could have been dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. How many senior citizens do we have to kill because ofthe automakers lack of foresight by not including this safety feature.

From a stop start to accelerate into right turn right front wheel starts to wobble and tremors is felt in steering wheel. Wobble not felt in quick acceleration only in gradual acceleration.it has become progressively worse over the last 5000 miles. Took it to gm dealer. Say they could not feel problem. Took technician for a ride and duplicated problem several times. Technician s says he feels tremor does not know what is causing problem. The problem is definitely coming from right cv axle when power is initially applied to right wheel. Vehicle has been in shop four days no solution to problem.

When pulling up to park my car the release button on automatic stick shift popped out making it impossible to put in park. Would only stay in drive. Had to turn tires into street curb so car wouldn't roll away.

The shift changer has a component inside that cracked and completely fell off . Now inducing the vehicle to have a safety defect due to not completely going into parking position and a message displaying shift to park.

Stabilitytrak came one also my air conditioning stopped working and my transmission is vibrating and my back up camera has detection.

From a stop, start to accelerate slowly into a right turn the steering wheel (or front right wheel) starts to vibrate or wobble. Vehicle now has 2000 miles and the problem is ongoing.the vibration can be felt in the drivers seat.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. The contact stated that the plastic button to shift gears fractured and became detached. The failure made it impossible to shift gears. The contact called acura of augusta (1760 gordon hwy, augusta, ga 30904, (706) 737-5200) and was informed that the part was not covered under warranty and the entire gear box needed to be replaced. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 59,000.

My car stops everytime i stop or when i put it in reverse and my check engine light it on.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. The contact stated while shifting the gear shifter into park, the gear shifter button fractured and detached in her hand. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Second complaint, sway or wobble from right tire at or between 15 and 20 mph when shifting from 1st yo 2nd.gm was in touch with dealership and it was told to me that all 2014 buick veranos have this.they said this is normal operation of the vehicle. What was told to me just not make sense.

My shift cable disengaged from the transmission shift lever and i am not able to shift gears which means i am not able to drive my car. This is unacceptable, i haven't even had my car for a year and i am not able to drive it now because the lever is broken. Can someone please fix this, my car should have a recall on that.

Radio shuts on an off as i drive. The engine shuts off while driving and i have to pull over to a safe area, it's so scary and unsafe.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. While operating the vehicle, a grinding noise was present when depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to demontrond buick (14101 north freeway, houston, tx) where it was diagnosed that the front passenger side brake mechanism pin failed and caused the front passenger side brake pad to wear excessively and unevenly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 119,000.

I own a 2014 buick verano. I purchased this car in may 2015. I noticed an issue with it's breaking system on 1/20/2016. I was sitting at a stop light, applying the brakes with moderate pressure. Because it had been snowing earlier in the day, i suppose i was pressing down harder than normal. As i was sitting there, i noticed the brake pedal slowly moving to the floor. I pulled off the road and repeated the operation in a parking lot. Indeed, sitting still, with the car in park, the brake pedal continues to slowly move to a completely depressed position, resting on the floor.i scheduled an appointment with the dealership for 2/22/2016. The service manager told me that this was a known issue and was due to either the anti-lock braking system activation (while sitting motionless?), or the brake booster slowly losing vacuum (which would make the pedal rise from the floor instead of going towards it).the dealer said 'they checked out the brake system', (something i don't fully believe), and the braking system was completely normal. I insisted that the dealer bring another vehicle into the shop, and they complied. The newer verano did exactly the same thing.i have not had an accident with this car, but i believe the design of the braking system is flawed. At an earlier point in my life, i did a considerable amount of maintenance to the vehicles i owned. I have never considered the situation with the buick verano brakes to be a normal condition.i ask that your engineers take a look at this situation and determine if it is safe, or not. I certainly do not feel safe.

Noticed car jerking and losing power while goin uphill. Going uphill slowed down to only go about 25mph. Came to not being able to drive forward at all only in reverse. Had car tested at 2 different auto places and was given possible codes of it being the transmission module. Unfortunately up to now haven't been able to afford to repair.

My power steering sensor is on as well as the stability trak sensor.

The contact leased a 2014 buick verano. The contact stated that the hood lid and the front passenger side fender were not properly attached to the body of the vehicle, which caused an opening where the size of a finger could enter. At or around 10 to 15 mph from stop, i get a sway in right front tire. As i get up speed the sway is not felt.

While driving to my destination. The silver lever that you push in to shift the gears completely fell out in my hand and the piece that houses the spring for the lever.i could not put the car in park or cut the car off.

I purchase a buick verano 2014 in august 2014and since date of my purchased i have had the continue ongoing issue with the auto and no solution due to the dealer is unable to pen point the issues . Every 2-3 months the battery is dead in the auto , in 2014 i used all of my triple a having the auto towed into the shop and now i am using towing service attached to my warranty service .on june 19 , i had to have the auto towed in again same issues . This is so overwhelming especially when i am paying for a auto that not functioning and i have a very ill hubby at home that's i care for 24/7 and attends a lot of medical appointment and i need a dependable auto . The dealer i have request to come up with a solutionto get rid of this auto without me having to pay another down payment for another auto this is so unfair this auto is a lemon and its clear to me now its auto had issues and this is why it was traded in

Stabilitytrak came one also my air conditioning stopped working and my transmission is vibrating and my back up camera has detection.

Unsure flappingtype noise under car sounds like its on the front left i have had several mechanics to drive the car listen to the soundno one can seem to find out what it isi do not think its mechanical but not really sure and this has been going on for several years

A metallic knocking or thumping noise seemingly located around right front of car when moving, intermittently.

The gear shift console is coming apart. Unable to drive. When trying to drive the car i noticed the gear shift button/latch fell off. Was unable to put it back, had to tape it back on until it got towed.

The contact owns a 2014 buick verano. After approximately thirty minutes of driving, the vehicle was parked and the rear window suddenly shattered. The contact noticed a roundburned spot in one of the rear window defrost filaments. The vehicle was driven to the dealer (lou fusz buick/gmc in saint louis, missouri) where it was diagnosed that the rear defrost shorted out and the window needed replacement. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Low profile tires: a rock hit my tire-tired destroyed-hit small hole approximately 4 in deep about 6 inches wide tire blew. Today wife backing up hit rounded corner tire blew. Continental tires low profile are unsafe. I do not trust them and dealers. Tell me they are changing tires by multiple times due to low profile. Tires are 235x45x 18 pro h . I believe they are a safety hazard .

The car has continental tires on it .the front driver's side has a big bubble on the sidewall. If you research this problem you will see continental tires have a problem with their side walls
