The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 87,000.
I was driving along. About 20mph. Started to go over some really bad railroad tracks.all of a sudden my airbag deployed. I didn't hit anything. I didn't run into anything. And nothing hit me. It was just all of a sudden.because of the position my arm was on the steering wheel i had initially thought that it snapped my arm in two. However. It isn't broken. But i do have very minor burns from the chemical from the airbag.i contacted buicks main customer service line but they act like they didn't want to do anything about it.
I was involved in an accident and had front end damage.the air bag sensor and light are on indicating that the air bag deployed; however, it did not.we have also experienced electrical problems as well with the van.the sliding door chime comes on randomly when i we are driving.work had to be done previously on the wiring. Occasionally i hear rattling noises from the front end of the vehicle when i drive.the van also shakes excessively when approaching speeds over 45-50 miles per hour when i put on the brakes.
The rear door on the driver's side starting trying to open on its own the week of march 15.the soonest we could get an appointment at the mechanics was march 19.we transport grandchildren daily to and from school and other activiites and they are always in child safety restraints.it is a good thing because march 18 as we were driving to dinner with the children, the door completely opened as we were turning a corner at a busy intersection. We have not been able to get it repaired because the parts had to be ordered.we are not driving the van with the children as we wait for repairs.the extended warranty and gm dealers do not seem to be too concerned about the safety aspect.we are!!

During cruise on highway (i-95 in florida) while on vacationthe left rear power sliding door became unlatched and warning chimes sounded repeatedlyand interior lights illuminated, this occurred several times again on this trip there was an investigation by the nhtsa in 2008 report #ea07019 which determined no defect was present which would require a recall. I beg to differ with that assessment there most certainly is a problem here, gm issued tsb #07-08-007 and #07-08-007 a-d which tells dealerships how to repair this problem. Please look into this matter again it is very unsettling to have my kids riding in the rear and having a door unlatch at highway speeds thank you for your time and consideration.
Where to start! the horn is very hard to work, the power sliding passenger door opens randomly and has been worked on countless times, there are vibrations in the floor, the brakes have been worked on countless times: front rotors turned twice and replaced once, rear brakes turned twice. Interior and exterior lights randomly and constantly dim and brighten. Tie rods replaced and all this with only 20000 on it! i have had this vehicle in the dealership for all problems and i guess this is as good as it gets with buick!
The ignition switch was disengaged when the van hit a bump while in motion on a highway. I was able to put it in natural and restart it but it was a very frightening ordeal. This has also happened on streets traveling 30 mph.
Power sliding door alarm will sound going down the road saying the door is ajar even when door is locked closed
- the contact complained about a variety of vehicle problems.failures.the heating and cooling system did not consistentlyprovide heat or air conditioning.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer 7 times for the heating and cooling system failure.however, shestated that she has had problems with system working on at least 15 occasions.the last time that the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for heating and cooling failure was december 27, 2006.the contact stated that each time she has taken the vehicle for repair it was reprogrammed. The repair worked for a while and then began failing again.the contact stated that the crank seal was leaking and replaced 01/02/07.the contact stated that the sway bars for the stabilizers were replaced 07/2006.all 4 brake rotors were warped and they were repaired, but not replaced 07/2006.the contact stated that all four tires had to be replaced at 20,000 miles because they were all cupped, and she had to replace all four of them 10/16/2006.the contact also stated that the backup assist didn't work for 3 or 4 weeks.the contact also stated that there is a constant dinging noise such as when you have left a car door open, however,a car door is not open.the contact stated that if she turns the car off and lets it sit for a few minutes the dinging stops, but if she doesn't turn the vehicle off and waitsit keeps dinging. The contact stated this has happened four times to date.the contact believed there was something wrong with the electrical system.
Since october 2006 i have takenthe '05 buick terraza to mossy pontiac buick gmc of new orleans for the following issues: dvd static noise, unusually loud, exhaust noise on take-off, brakes, abs lights come on, onstar, and ignition/starter continues to turnover after releasing the starter key. After 10-15 visits to the dealership for the same issues they say that they replaced the muffler and the catalytic converter, and that any noise i hear is inherent to the vehicle. I was also informed that the dvd noise i heard was inherent to the vehicle up until my last visit on april 10, 2007 at which time i was informed of a bulletin that described the problem i had been having since october 2006. Either way, that issue was still not fixed after leaving my vehicle at the dealership for approximately10 hours. Also, according to the dealership the abs light issue and the ignition/starter issue could not be duplicated. Therefore , they are likely inherent to the vehicle. I placed a complaint with buick customer care onapril 10 after not having any resolution to my problems, and they informed me that there is nothing they can do other than offer me a $1000 rebate for buyer loyalty towards a new gm vehicle. My car current has 38,600 miles, but i purchased it with 23k (certified which supposely exended the warranty to 39k) and have been taking it to the dealship for issues since the day of purchase. Any help that you all can give me to help resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated.

While driving down the road the rear door alarm started sounding and the rear power sliding door began to open.pulled the car over shut the door and locked it.
Buick terraza drivers side rear door faulty. Doot sensor keeps chiming sensing the door is open when it's not, you can't manually shut it since the sensor unlocks it and the door opens. You have to force it shut and deal with the chiming- j=hopefully i can get the sensor disconnected.
We were pulling into walmart parking lot and hit street bump that turn onto walmart's property and the sudden jerk made the keys pop out of the ignition while the van was in motion. The keys were on the floor but the vehicle was steel in motion. As we parked the vehicle i put the key back into the ignition like nothing ever happened. I turn the van of, then waited a few minute and started the vehicle and behold the key would surely come out. I contacted the dealer sierra chevrolet in bartlet, tn and they checked the vehicle out and said it was a bad cut in the key. That means a bump key would start the vehicle. The ignition switch is faulty, and seeing gm recall list, the buick terraza 05 should be on that list. I'm writing buick/gm with this statement and request.
Vibration at 50+ mph. Pulsating, vibrating when braking. Uneven wear on tires (feathering) noticed at 3,000 miles. Horn takes a lot of pressure to make it work. 2 metro buick dealers say all above is normal and can not find anything wrong. One dealer printed 2 service bulletins to show me gm says it is normal. Headlights and interior lights dim and brighten on their own. Have had numerous oncoming cars blink their high beams at me thinking my high beams are on. I was denied in my request for a buick official to get involved. Van is now 9 months old and only 8,000 miles because it is unbearable to drive with all that shaking.
My name is [xxx] owner of 2005 buick terraza.we have always had a problem with the starter getting stuck/frozen , we have also talked to other owners of this vehicle ,an they also have had the same problem . I feel there has to be a recall on this problem but i am sure buick does not make this a recall because they have no fix ( b.s.) to this problem. We feel like getting a lawyer t see if maybe then theycould fix this . The dealer says our warranty no longer covers . We have had this problem since day one. With 10 miles on the new vehicle. Please help us .information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact stated that the passenger side automatic sliding door would not unlock with the keyless sensor or the button. The contact was driving when the sliding door opened independently and was extremely difficult to close.the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,308the dealer traced the problem to a circuit. Updated 11/28/11
All buick terrazas (also pontiac sv6) violate 49cfr571.101 in that the needles for the instrument gauges are not illuminated when the ignition is on.they are illuminated only if the ignition is off.i called this in on 1/19/2005, however, i'm using this form to mail in my complaint more expeditiously. Later a defective light sensor was found.refer to odi# 10108684.cancel this complaint per consumer. *sc

There are several defects that i am experiencing with this van. These issues escalated this weekend, the traction control and system stability indicators came on again and caused the brakes to lock i changed the brakes because i thought that was the cause it was not. Also the rear sliding doors will open while driving on their own. This van has been in the shop at lou fusz saint louis, mo several times and it is still not operating. This is a safety issue i am lucky that i was not on the highway when the brakes locked up, unfortunately that is not the case with the doors. I cancelled a trip to the zoo with my kids because the doors opened on their own while on the interstate, they are now afraid to ride in the back seats.
Well it happened on date specified slide doors will not open nor will they open manually !! this is life or deathordeal since i can't seem get them open !!!
2005 buick terraza while doors are locked and you are driving down the road. The sliding doors decide to open all on their own. You have to stop the van and shut the doors. With the door buttons are turned off they still open just not as often.
Both sets of keyless entry failed on the unlock operation. One set was used and failed in 2 years, the other set was then used and failed in two years. Must have something wrong in the makeup of these keyless transmitter. Everything works except the unlock. Replacement quoted at $345.
Buick terrazajust shuts down while driving (at various speeds) or stopped without warning. Everything shuts down with display stating, "starting disabled, reduced engine power." i must try to get to the side quickly. After about 30 seconds, the van restarts and continues for a while until it does the exact same thing again.
Brakes felt uneasy stopping did not respond right away sometime had to pull a side to prevent accident.alternator don't start at all and abs light stayed on most of time many repairs done same problem at dealer ship.
Dt:the contact stated while driving all of the lights dimmed.the fan motor lost power.this happened eight times on a ten mile drive.the vehicle has been to the dealership , and theyreplaced multiple components, but the problem gotworse.the engineers for the manufacturer sent the service department 40 tests to run on the vehicle to diagnose theproblem, but nothing was found.the zone manager for the manufacturer stated they were aware of the problem, but did not deem it a safety hazard.the service manager at the dealership test drove another vehicle on the lot and found it had the same defect.in addition, upon purchase, the rear door had to be adjusted.the contact was unable to shut the door, it was too loose. Also, the vehiclehad a problem with the leveling system, twice when trying to get into the vehicle it was completely dead.they could not unlock the vehicle, and had to get it towed.the dealership stateda switch that was not deactivating, causing the battery to die.this defect was repaired.
Dt*: the contact stated the headlights flickered when the vehicle was driven 0-60 mph.when the vehicle was taken to the sales/service dealer, the problem could not be recreated.the voltage regulator was replaced, but the problem continued.the lights failed to remain bright enough to see well at night.the computer programming was reflashed.the vehicle also had an ongoing issue with the starter, sliding door opening by itself when the vehicle was parked or while idling in park.on one occasion, the child passenger fell out of the vehicle when the door opened.there were no injuries sustained.there was a problem with the steering which resulted in the contact side swiping a mailbox post on the side of the road.at a later date when the vehicle was parked in the garage, the vehicle caught on fire.there were no reports taken by the police or fire department.the manufacturer was notified and the service dealer towed the vehicle back to the dealership.
Dt: thecontacttried to using the hornbutmost of the timecould not get it to blow.even whenpressing hard on the horn it would not work. One musthit it correctly in order to get it to work properly.he has taken the vehicle to the dealer, whoagreedit took a lot of force for the horn to work. The dealer had a representative look at the horn. The representative was doubtful that gmc would fix the horn. He stateditwas a sensor that failed, it send a message to the steering wheel, and it was sending wrong information. When pressingthe accelerator the brakes would clamp down and slow down the vehicle. This would cause the vehicle to stop while in motion to continue on.the contact statedthe headlights brighten and dim on their own. The dealer replaced the alternator in order to correct the problem. The vehicle washaving the same problem.
Dt:the consumer owns a 2005 buick terraza. The only the way thehorn will work is by taking both of her thumbs and pressing as hard as she can to get the horn to blow in the left hand corner that is the only spot that it will work. The horn has not worked since she purchased the vehicle. She filed a complaint with gm.

Dt: the contact statedhad a technicianfrom gmlook at his car because he was havingmanyproblems with his horn. E noticed problemswith the horn on or around 5-20-05. It was very hard to push. The horn. You almost have to take a hammerto get it to blow. The dash lights are also very dim. He has found several complaints on the nhtsa website about the horn not blowing. Transmission kicks into passing gear too much going up slight grades on the interstate at 65-70 mph.the contact has driven other cars on the same interstas with the same average loads and with less horsepower and they didn't kick into the passing gear as much. The tech that gm sent out, said everything was normal.
Dt*: the contact stated the horn will not sound without applying a lot of pressure.upon recommendation of gm, the dealership installed a redesigned kit to try and correct the problem.the kit did not correct the problem.
I was driving on the highway switching lanes on dry pavement, clear day, and the traction control system or the stability control system engaged causing the vehicle to rapidly decelerateand swerve to the left.it happened to my wife and she called me crying saying she did not want to drive the car.i did not take her seriously, until she went out of town and the vehicle did the same to me on the highway.this traction control or stability control system has a problem and is a major safety concern.i tried to disengage the system before driving it on the highway to take it to the dealer and it happened again.the horn is hard to push and cause the horn to make a sound.without a horn, the car is not safe.
Horn does not sound when pressed. Dealer service department replaced one air bag spring with an updated spring, and said that alot of their customers are experiencing this same problem. The horn is still defective.

Dt:the consumer complained about a horn problem.the consumer to push different spots in order to get horn to blow.it did not blow where the symbols were located on the vehicle.the consumer noticed this a few weeks ago on may 28, 2005.the consumer contacted the dealer, who said that they use the brakes and not the horn.there were continuous problems with the horn.*sc
Buick terraza horn only works when excessive force is applied from the heal of the hand and in the exact center of the steering wheel.***no answer required***the dealer claimed that the problem with the horn could not be corrected.the consumer feels that the location of the temperature and compass gauges makes them impossible to read during too little or too much sunlight.
Dt:caller says the horn did not work. They checked the problem on other vehicles and were waiting to hear from the manufacturer on how to fix it. Manufacturer said they will start a file on the problem. Caller said that he has to apply a great amount of force to get the horn to work and he must push the middle of the steering wheel.the dealer checked other terraza's and found the same problem.

Harness damage causing repeated stability control failure. Failure causes the front brakes to activate without depressing the brake pedal at any time. Taken in 4 times for repair between 4/21/06 to 1/13/07. Harness repaired at least twice along with other component replacement.
I have a 2005 buick terraza with 20,000 miles on it. Recently when the temp has got cold (30 degrees) the service stability and the service traction lights have came on. After i drive the van, the next time i start the van the lights are usually gone but then when i have been driving straight on a dry road at about 45 mph or so and hit a bump the van would pull, decelerate and swerve for a few seconds and the service stability light would come on. This has happened 4 times. I took it to the dealer and they found 5 codes but they say they can't help them figure what is wrong and all they can do is drive my van around until it does it again and hope they get a code that will help them. The codes were c0253/c0870/c0460/c0196/c0187. I found other people on line who had similar problems with these vehicles and printed suggestions for the dealer to check(steering wheel sensor and frayed wires). The dealer then found a green and blue wire from the forward engine harness routed from the ebcm underneath the inlet air box were completely rubbed through. They rubbed against the transmission bolt. Hopefully this will fix the problem. I guess you got to give some dealers help finding the problem with your vehicle.this is could be a problem with these type of gm vans and it could be very dangerous depending on what wires are frayed and when they malfunction the stable trak system could throw the van out of control which could lead to a deadly accident.

While driving at night from a field trip with my daughter andher girl scout brownie troop, the stability track system went on in error and i lost control of the car.it went from 40 mph to 5 mph within a second.the steering would not work, either.very, very scary! i contacted onstar in the car and they could not see a problem, but sent a tow truck.the dealership replaced a short-wire and said it was fixed.but could it happen again? also, my automatic doors never work properly.we bought this car for family trips and field trips, but now i'm too scared to take it on trips or field trips thinking that it will happen again on the express way like it did to other terazza owners.we leased it so i can't get rid of it.instead i make a huge payment every month on a lemon.
In the summer of 2010, i was driving on an on ramp to the interstate when it felt like the brakes grabbed and wouldn't allow me to accelerate (53604 miles). The car pulled to the left, and i had to work overtime to get the car to stop on the side of the road. Several cars were behind me ' expecting me to speed up ' and it could have been a very bad situation. I was towed to a buick dealership, but they could not re-create the issue. The manager then got in the car with me driving so that we could see what would happen. We didn't get far before it happened again. I speculated that the issue was with the abs system, but they couldn't find the issue so my thoughts could not be affirmed. Fast forward to january 2011, my abs symbol and 'service stability system' alert come on, and the car grabs and makes a crunching sound (59287 miles).
The vehicle started to flash stability system active and at any given time, while driving down the road, the vehicle (on it's own) will engage the abs and slam on brakes while pulling to the left.after this happens, it flashes service stability system.this has happened numerous times in the last couple of days and if was raining, would have definitely caused a major accident or head on collision.
I bought a 2005 buick terraza in sept. 2009 39,500 mi. Approximately 31 days after purchase stability control sensor on drivers side front went bad. Making the whole front end lock up. Galpin ford who we bought buick from paid for lamb chevrolet to fix the sensor buick had 42,000. On it when went out. 30 days later same incident happened my front end locked up and on dash said stability control active stabilize stability system took back to lamb chevrolet and at that time they said wiring was faulty making sensor go out again so they rewired the buick this time plus replaced sensor for 2nd time. 7 months later once again front end locksup and same msg. Stability system active take back to lamb chevrolet and same sensor for 3rd time has went bad they cant figure out why. This is a major safety issue and even if i was to pay to get fixed again its quite obvious it will go out again. It just a matter of when will it go out. While im driving down road going 65 with my 4 children thinking vehicle is repaired again and all sudden front end locks this vehicle will eventually end up killing myself or a passenger or innocent bystander.i have receipts for all repairs maintenance done on this vehicle it will end up causing mass damage.
The 2005 buick terraza is equipped with a gm stabilitrack system, which combines anti-lock brake, traction and stability control systems. I was driving this vehicle at 60 mph on a straight road during a dry, sunny day and fully loaded with camping gear, children, their computer games and my wife. The vehicle was pulling a small trailer. In an instant, the van lurched as the brakes engaged on their own.we lost 20 miles per hour in a second. We pitched forward in our seat belts, and the van swerved to the left into the other lane of the interstate. I steered as best i could, but it felt like suggesting a direction more than driving. Everything was mushy and the trailer wanted to keep going. We pitched left and right twice. The panel said that the 'stability control system active.' i managed to steer to the right shoulder and stop. I breathed and pressed on the hazard lights. The kids asked what happened, and i managed to say that we only took a year off of my life, saved theirs, and ended the life of this van.a mile ahead, the interstate was restricted to one lane going each direction.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle began to jerk and the "track system" and "stability" indicators illuminated. The vehicle stalled and was taken to the rogers dabbs chevrolet dealer at 1501 w government st. In brandon, ms where the vehicle was diagnosed. The diagnosis results were undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. While driving at various speeds, the check engine, electronic stability control, and abs warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. While attempting to brake the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal noise and the stopping distance increased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.

I have receipts for all repairs maintenance done on 1st complaint found online:i have had for the past seven months far outweigh the good. Neither buick nor the dealer will do anything to compensate me for my loss of security in this vehicle. It the last and biggest problem was while driving on a major highway on a crowded saturday afternoon, the steering completely locked up, the traction control light and service stability system lights came on, i had no ability to steer, use the gas or brake, the van kept swerving from side to side2nd complaint: is it ok to drive our 2005 buick terraza with the service stability system, abs and traction control light on?we are planning to drive ~ 1600miles on vacation. Is it safe to drive the van with the service stability system, abs brakes and traction control system message on computer?
I recently bought this 2005 buick terraza cx. As per carfax the vehicle has been beautifully maintained. After a week of having my vehicle i will be driving around and the service traction control light comes on and the vehicle will screech on its breaks and pull to the right. I have taken it into the dealership where they replaced the sensor and a week later it continues to randomly brake when excellerating, or even turning. This has happened 3 times now. It is very scary driving down the road and all of a sudden your vehicle screeches to a halt and has the vehicle swerve.
Brakes felt uneasy stopping did not respond right away sometime had to pull a side to prevent accident.alternator don't start at all and abs light stayed on most of time many repairs done same problem at dealer ship.
The traction control, stability, and abs warnings randomly appear and cause the car to slow down and the driver to take corrective action to appropriately steer the car.
At 90,900 mileage on my van, i started experiencing problems with my stability control, abs, and my traction control system.when driving at numerous speeds, the stability control system would kick in, would grab at my drivers side front wheel and make the van swerve to the left.on the instrument panel, it would say to "service stability control".this has happened when i was traveling at 40 mph, at 20 mph, and just starting to drive after taking a turn.this has also happened to me today to where i was pressing the brake and the traction control kicked in on dry pavement while i was going less than 30 mph.i have had my 4 children in the vehicle when this has occurred and has scared them as well as myself and my husband.this vehicle is our main form of transportation.
Randomly, while driving the abs system activates the brakes, pulling the car to one-side.if my memory serves me correctly, it pulls to the right.after this happens, the car's "traction control active" message appears on the instrument panel.parking the car, turning it off, and restarting the car causes the message to go away.this has happened about 4 times in the past 3 weeks at speeds varying from 5-35 miles per hour.i fear that it could be potentially dangerous if this were to happen at higher speeds..the car has been checked, prior to this incident, by an ase certified shop and both front wheel hubs have been replaced within the past 18 months, which have integrated wheel speed sensors.i have read that most shops have been unable to pinpoint any reason for this problem, but i do plan to have my mechanic investigate and see if the computer is reporting any error codes.
I want to report a very unusual incident that my wife and i experienced january 7, 2014 involving our 2005 buick terraza automobile.it was a scary event of which i am still trying to find the exact cause.while descending from the cocoa bridge crown, at around forty five mph, i lightly applied the brakes to adjust to the traffic speed.when bam the left wheel lock up jerking us toward the cement rails on the left side of the bridge, then the car traction control' cut in and slowed the vehicle.other car tires were squealing around us as they were trying to avoid hitting us.i would say the wheel lockup was one second or less and the whole incident lasted from three to five seconds. Then the car returned to normal operation with no further hint of this problem for the next forty miles.i've looked on the internet and found several reports of this same exact incident including many complaints on your system.i took the car to our local garage and they said the abs computer system showed no faults and found no mechanical reason for this wheel to lock up.my next stop was the dealer where i bought the car twenty five miles away.lane buick gmc checked it out and reported the same thing except the mechanic wrote 'corrected by suspension repair' which suggests that he fixed something, what ever it was.yet i understood from the service representative they couldn't find anything to cause this unheard event.i next called buick in detroit, mi they were of little help saying if it didn't leave any code on the computer, it never happened.then ask if i would consider buying a new car and trading this one in.until i know what the mechanism is for this car behavior, i would never unload this problem on someone else.it is like the emperors new clothes story, no one at gmc has ever heard of the problem before.
When driving, usually at highway speeds, one of the front brakes will automatically grip, making the nose dive and making it hats to maintain control of the vehicle. The message displayed says to service the stability control system, which we have done with no resolution. We have nearly gotten in wrecks.
As we were driving home in may of 2014 the left front brake grabbed as if i had applied the brake, since then we have had both wheel bearings replaced lower ball joints and tie rod ends but nothing has changed. It has grabbed several times since then, this is a serious matter that should be dealt with, i refuse to let my wife drive the van especially when we have our five children with us because when this occurs it jerks the to the left towards oncoming traffic.
I managed to steer to the right shoulder and stop. I breathed and pressed on the hazard lights. The kids asked what happened, and i managed to say that we only took a year off of my life, saved theirs, and ended the life of this van.a mile ahead, the interstate was restricted to one lane going each direction.
While driving on a straight road at 30 miles an hour i heard a strange noise andthe left front brake closed for a second which caused the steering wheel to jerk to the left. Since that first time i have had this happen many times while driving anywhere from 15 to 70 miles an hour. I have taken it to two dealers which found various codes.apparently there is a service bulletin concerning the wiring harness because both dealers rerouted the harness several times and put a shield on it each time. I had the steering sensor replaced one time for $200 and the yaw sensor for $400.after the yaw sensor was changed the vehicle did not give me any problem for a full year.it started again so this time i pulled the fuse on the abs brakes which gives you standard brakes and i have not had any more problems. I now have 120,000 miles. This is definitely a safety problem.if i keep both hands on the wheel i can react to the problem but i am afraid to let my wife drive the van. I like everything else about the van so i hate to get rid of it. I have driven cars with out abs brakes all my life so i will continue to drive it this way.i feel it is safer this way than letting the brake engage on its on.
Was driving at highway speed when the abs engaged on one side. The car jerked and lurched. My children & i were fortunate we didn't crash. Once the abs released, the traction control engaged and then tripped out. "service stability system" message was then displayed. This happened repeatedly while awaiting the local dealer to have time work on van, i was told they were too busy to look at it even though this was an urgent problem. When they worked on the van they stated the yaw rate sensor needed replacing. Item was replaced and van returned on 9/21/2010, cost approx. $500on 9/24/2010 same problem presented.
My passenger doors will not lockalso door open why driving andmy t/c come on why driving 55 to 60 miles a hour its feels like u on brakes slow down.
After having my car repaired & returned on 9/21/2010 my van starting repeating the same problem again on 9/24/2010. The problem is while driving at highway speed the abs engages causing the van to jerk & lurch narrowly avoiding a wreck. Returned the van to the dealer for days, was told it was the yaw rate sensor which was replaced less than a week before. Dealer agreed that it couldn't be that but was never able to find the problem. They cleared the code and returned the van on the10/1/2010 without any repair being done. This the third time we have had this problem with gm. There must be a design problem that needs to be fixed before someone is killed in an accident. All removed parts were retained by the dealer.
Hello, i have a 2005 buick terraza cx awd. My abs and traction control lights came on and when it did the vehicle started to apply the brakes itself pulling the vehicle to the left while driving. I couldn't control the vehicle. I started reading up on this, and it appears many other owners of this vehicle been having this same unsafe problem over the years and no recall is been done. This is a very serious issue!!! i'm surprise no one has been involved in an accident and been killed. I also notice this has been reported many times as well to the manufacture and they haven't done anything about it but come up with excuses to the owners like myself. Do someone has to be killed before a recall is done? i myself is going to take my video i had filming on my windshield when this incident ocurred and send it to all the major news media groups in this country and put it on social media as well. Thank you for reviewing my complaint, and hopefully the government make buick the manufacture do a safety recall asap. I can't upload my video because it's over the maximum size allowed to upload on this website.
Yesterday january 8, 2005 we took a trip to a relatives house in pennsylvania.on our way home and luckily for us in the town we live in, our terrazza started make a screeching noise and the brakes locked bringing the car to a grinding stop.it was the scariest thing that has ever happened to us.the car could not be driven even a few feet, the display panel said "stability control active".we were very fortunate that the car behind us was able to swerve out of our way or there would have been a serious accident.i can't help but wonder what would have happened if this incident happened 30 minutes before and we were on the highway traveling at highway speed.i know since i was in the car, i believe we would not be alive to tell you about this incident.we called on-star but they were unable to diagnose anything and called a tow truck to have the car towed to the nearest dealer, freehold pontiac/buick/gmc. The dealer was able to determine that it was a short in a wire under the dashboard and the car was repaired and ready for pick-up.i refused to pick the car up because i am afraid that if this happens again i might not survive nor will my family. The dealer agreed to keep the car another day and to provide us with further details about the wires tomorrow.this is a major safety issue and many gm models either have or will be equipped with this type of system soon. There is no way to disengage this system.
Noticed a grinding or rubbing noise in the rear of my 2005 buick terraza cxl.have noticed twice that the message display indicates service stability system.when taken to dealership they are unable to duplicate problem and the computer has not registered any incidence.what, if anything, can or should be done to rectify this situation?
Dt*: the contact stated the brakes engaged three times while going 60 mph.each time, this happened the asc (automatic stability control) light illuminated on the dash.the first time this occurred, the vehicle was towed to the dealership. Prior to this incident, the vehicle's absengaged only at slow speeds. To repair this problem the dealership installed a new computer in the vehicle. When the problem recurred, the vehicle was taken to thedealership where the sensor will be replaced. The contact was unaware of the type of sensor. Updated 7/5/2006 -
For the second time the stability traction malfunctioned while driving my terraza.the brakes slammed on by themselves and the steering went out.this happened once before with my child in the car.after the first malfunction, buick would not let me terminate my lease and guaranteed me this would never happen again. Reluctantly, i agreed to keep the car.guess what, it happened again.i refuse to ever let my daughter or i to be in the car again.even though i pleaded with buick's customer service that i agreed to take the car back after the first malfunction, although very fearful, with their guarantee it wouldn't happen again, it did.they will not terminate my leasethey told me i was still obligated to pay for the lease until the term was up and if i was too scared to drive it, that was my problem.does someone have to get seriously injured or die from them to recall?
For the second time, my traction control light came on and my "service stability system" light appeared.luckily, this time i was at a red light and not driving and was able to have control of my vehicle, unlike the last time this happened.upon examination at the dealer, found to have a "missing" traction control fuse, which was replaced, and regarding the "service stability system" alert - found the yaw rate sensor had an internal failure, which was replaced.how many times does this have to happen before buick will take responsibility and realize that this vehicle is unsafe to drive?buick tells me to talk to the dealer; the dealer refers me to buick.apparently no one cares that i am driving around in a very unsafe vehicle, unless an accident and personal injury or worse occurs.this time i had a friend and her son in my vehicle.i hate to even think what could have happened if i had been moving when this latest failure occurred.the last time this happened was horrific enough, and i was told the vehicle was fixed, obviously it wasn't.the only thing i would like from buick and the dealer is my money back so that i can purchase a safe vehicle.for now, this will sit in my driveway, as there is no way that i will ever get behind the wheel of this vehicle again. Never again will i put my child, my friends or myself at risk.is safety too much to ask for in a $30,000.00 vehicle?i have had 14 repairs made to this van in 18 months, with only 13,000 miles on it. I bought this vehicle in good faith, why won't buick stand behind their product and do right by me? or as a dealer told me "you should have just wrecked the first time and then buick would have done something."
The ignition switch was disengaged when the van hit a bump while in motion on a highway. I was able to put it in natural and restart it but it was a very frightening ordeal. This has also happened on streets traveling 30 mph.
Buick terrazajust shuts down while driving (at various speeds) or stopped without warning. Everything shuts down with display stating, "starting disabled, reduced engine power." i must try to get to the side quickly. After about 30 seconds, the van restarts and continues for a while until it does the exact same thing again.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza.the contact stated that while driving 25 mph on an icy road, the vehicle stalled without warning causing the contact to crash into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy.a police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 87,000.
2005 buick terraza without warning began to wobble making a grinding noise and rapidly slowed down to a stop.***no answer required*** the dealer replaced numerous parts on the vehicle, but the problem continued.
Dt: the consumer was driving 65 mph on the interstate when the car shut down. No lights came on to warn her. The speedometer and the tachometer went to 0 and the car went dead.she had the car less than 7 days and this was the first time thishappened. The dealer did not know what was wrong. They were putting a new engine in the car due to an oil leak. They could not recreate the problem.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact stated that the headlights burned out, both of the rear wheels had no tread and the rear wiper blade failed to work. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the headlights, rear wheels and rear wiper motor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure was 137,000.updated 9/19/2017

On one occasion the lights failed completely and illuminated againseveral moments later. In addition, the contact stated that the driver's side heated seat overheated and burned one of the contact's legs.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The current mileage was approximately 100,000.

My passenger doors will not lockalso door open why driving andmy t/c come on why driving 55 to 60 miles a hour its feels like u on brakes slow down.
The driver's side power sliding door constantly would lock and unlock while driving.it would also not shut and emit a warning bell even when nothing was obstructing the door.i was told it would cost over $1000 to replace the sensor and that might not even fix it.i finally had the dealer disconnect the automatic door.so we now open and close it manually.this is a safety issue, since the lock/unlock would occur when in drive and due to the number of complaints something needs to be done.
Power sliding doors in the rear fail to close on a repeated basis, often having to try and close them 10 to 12 times.after reading about this known issue and how others vehicle owners have reported the door(s) opening on their own while driving, i felt i needed to report my malfunction with the door sensors.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact was driving 45 mph when both rear passenger doors opened intermittently. The failure occurred on four previous occasions. The doors will only close when they are locked, but the car alarm sounds, while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired, and the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 50,000.
2005 buick terazza rear passenger sliding door will not close or stay closed.when closed, an alarm sounds continuously.have had this issue serviced by buick for over three years.buick has replaced some of the parts, but it continues to happen.the problem still exists today.
2005 buick terraza while doors are locked and you are driving down the road. The sliding doors decide to open all on their own. You have to stop the van and shut the doors. With the door buttons are turned off they still open just not as often.
Door locks will not unlock, they just click.was able to jimmy front doors but then they would not lock.had baby been in back seats there was no way to get them out without someone very small climbing over the front seat into the far back, very dangerous.on star could not remote open vehicle either.drove to dealership and discovered the remote fob thought it was locking the car and started it.dealership says they have never seen this happen before.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza.the contact stated that the automatic sliding door does not close properly, which causes it to sporadically open while driving at any speed.he took the vehicle to the dealer and a technician reprogrammed the door.five to six months later, the failure recurred.the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and they realigned the door.months later, the door failed again.since the first failure, he has taken the vehicle to the dealer seven times regarding the door failure.on each occasion, the engineers have failed to successfully remedy the failure.the manufacturer did not provide any assistance.the failure mileage was 2,500 and current mileage was 81,204.
2005 buick terraza left sliding door would not open either electronically or manually. Door later opened while vehicle was in motion.the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times but they were unable to find the cause of the problem.they did update the sliding door module per service bulletin 05-08-64-013 but that did not correct the problem.

The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza.on three occasions the key fob in the contacts pocket pressed against something and unlocked all of the doors, including the sliding door.the sliding door remains open.the dealer stated that the key fobwas operating normally.the current mileage is 4,268, and failure mileage was 4,258. Update 05/04/07
Dt*:the contact stated the automatic sliding door locked by itself and would not open by the key or power controls.the vehicle was seen by a dealer for replacement of the power door lock motor.although the door lock problem was corrected, the door rattled while driving at various speeds.the vehicle is currently awaiting further inspection by the dealer.updated 5/10/2006 - the vehicle rolled back while on hills.
Sliding driver's side rear door opened while i was fueling the car.my wife pushed the open door button.a very dangerous situation developed as the sliding door slid backwards toward the gasoline hose.i jammed the door with my body and attempted to press the door button but the door kept trying to slide back.i squeezed the handle and yanked the hose out of the gas tank filler.i splashed quite a bit of gas on the side of the car.there should be some safety switch that would prevent the sliding door from operating when the gas tank door is open.my wife was disoriented at the time because of a diabetic sugar low and felt she needed air.i had visions of the sliding door striking the gas hose and starting a fire.the door has a safety switch that prevents it from closing if an object is in the way.but there is nothing to prevent the door from opening even when it is held or strikes something.
I am sending you information on my 2005 buick terraza, i am also the original owner. This information is regarding my rear brake problem that i feel should be included on your defect list. This problem should be already covered under the nhtsa recall id 05v287000. However, general motors buick division feels differently and claims my vehicle id number was not a part of their recall. Consequently they have denied my requested reimbursement claim in the amount of $452.60 to correct my brake problem on the vehicle. Since this dispute has not been settled to my satisfaction; i am requesting that you put this information on file in the nhtsa database as "unintended braking when accelerating and the cause is lever slippage at each rear brake caliper".i have maintained a file folder on this buick, terraza braking defect and would be happy to share all my information with nhtsa. Buick, gm owes me $452.60. This is their safety issue that i had to have corrected.
While trying to shift, the shifting lever disconnected to the transmission. This made it impossible to shift gears.the shifting assembly appeared to come apart.i am not able to use the vehicle due to this .

As we were driving on the highway we had to slammed the brakes and they got locked up. We tried to unlock them and at the time we did. About two days later they got locked up again this time smoked came out of the front wheels. We took it to a mechanic and he tried to unlock them which he did. Then again that same day that it was fixed it got locked up. This happened while on vacation. We brought the vehicle back as it was for about 2000 miles with little to no brakes at time. We know this not normal and we want to know what is causing this problem.
Brakes felt uneasy stopping did not respond right away sometime had to pull a side to prevent accident.alternator don't start at all and abs light stayed on most of time many repairs done same problem at dealer ship.

The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. While driving 5 mph and attempting to make a right turn, the steering wheel and brake pedal seized. Also, the abs and traction control indicators illuminated. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fire hydrant. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (ron smith buick gmc 1900 auto center drive, merced, ca 95340), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
Dt*:the contact stated without warning the brakes activated and the vehicle came to a stop.this occurred on two occasions, but the dealership was unable to determine a problem.
At approx. 15,000 miles the brakes squeal or chirp almost every time the brakes are applied. The consequences of this has left embarrassment as well as worry as to weather the brakes are going to give out. Also have noticed a slight fade and increased braking distance or having to push harder to stop the vehicle. The rotors have been turned twice, stop squeal was applied to the pads as well as sanding the edges of the pads and nothing has fixed the problem.
2005 buick terraza service abs system message appears randomly. Road conditions are good.
Dt: the contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact experienced brake failure while coming to a stop sign.she pressed the brakes and the brake light and the traction control light came on, and the vehicle was beeping . Then itbegan to jump from service traction control system to service stability control system. The brakes went all the way to the floor and it still would not stop the vehicle. The contact pulled the emergency brake to stop the vehiclewhich was already out in the intersection.she contacted onstar ,they done a diagnostic test, and t said everything was fine, but told her to pull the car over. This vehicle was only four days old and already experiencing brake failure which occurred under normal braking conditions.the speed at the time of incident was around 20-30 mph. The vehicle was towed to a dealership, and they said that it was brake failure.the main component for the braking system failed and they did not know why. The repair invoice will be available.
Updated 7/5/2006 -
Since october 2006 i have takenthe '05 buick terraza to mossy pontiac buick gmc of new orleans for the following issues: dvd static noise, unusually loud, exhaust noise on take-off, brakes, abs lights come on, onstar, and ignition/starter continues to turnover after releasing the starter key.
Every time the wheels are removed from my 2005 buick terraza, the rotors go out of round, and need to be replaced. I am wondering if any other owners have this complaint. We have had the rotors replaced three times in less than three years. They need to be replaced now. That makes it four times in less than three years. It is dangerous to have therotors out of round. The mechanics believe it is because the tires are torqued too tight. Why does this keep happening? it is getting pretty expensive.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact stated that while driving between 5 -10 mph, the power steering assist suddenly failed making the steering wheel very difficult to turn. The contact indicated that the failure recurred intermittently and would independently correct within 20 seconds of occurring. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 15,000.
Buick terrazajust shuts down while driving (at various speeds) or stopped without warning. Everything shuts down with display stating, "starting disabled, reduced engine power." i must try to get to the side quickly. After about 30 seconds, the van restarts and continues for a while until it does the exact same thing again.

Steering locked up while driving 50 mph on a very busy four lane highway while i was in the fast lane, heading westbound.van decelerated to about 30 mph instantly, began swerving from right to left without ability to control movement of vehicle.the traction control light came on and the service stability system light also came on.could not turn off the traction control.had no control over the steering, brakes or gas.a very loud grinding noise was coming from the front of the van, sounding and feeling like every wheel was being turned in a different direction.i was able to turn the van a very hard left to steer it into an open lot, although i did have to pull in front of oncoming cars, but i had no other option as there were cars on the side of me and quickly coming up behind me.van was serviced at the dealer who said that the steering wheel sensor was faulty; case file started with buick, but after servicing, they closed the case, saying the problem was resolved.i will never drive this vehicle again and i feel there is still a major safety issue here.other sensors have been replaced, only to have thoseproblems occur again.this van has been in for service repairs for 11 different things in the seven months that i have owned it, and it now only has 6036 miles on it.i feel that this van in particular is very unsafe and possibly other terraza's also have these same safety problems.this is something that the manufacturer should own up to and do the right thing and replace the vehicle before the unthinkable occurs.
The ignition switch was disengaged when the van hit a bump while in motion on a highway. I was able to put it in natural and restart it but it was a very frightening ordeal. This has also happened on streets traveling 30 mph.

The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph when the steering wheel involuntarily steered the vehicle into the right lane. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 43,000.
I own a 2005 buick terraza. Bought the vehicle in july of 2005 at around 8000 miles noticed a vibration in the steering wheel ,took it to the dealer and they said the tires needed to be re-balanced. After i left dealership still noticed the vehicle shaking. Went back to the dealership front tires are now going bald and they state it was my fault for not rotating at 5,000 miles. So they do it for me rebalance tires and say it is okay. After 4 times of going back to dealership for the vibration they say there is nothing they can do about it. So i am supposed to live with this vibration when driving at speeds of 65-70. This is a big safety issue since this will just lead to more problems down the road. The dealer points the finger to buick , buick points the finger back to the dealership and nobody wants to tack responsibility for this.
After making several turns to exit a parking lot i stopped at a stop sign at an exit, proceeded to cross westbound traffic and as i neared the median to turn onto the east bound lanes my steering wheel became locked with the car in motion.i headed straight through the median across one lane of east bound traffic and partially through the second east bound lane.heading straighttoward a construction sitei gave the wheel a turn to the left as hard as i could.key ring flew into the window, regained control ofvehicle. Engine cut out. Coasted to a safe place and pulled aside. Discovered the key was brokeninignition and another car key was bent approximately 40 degrees.noticed the plastic on the steering column around my cruise lever was damaged.realized another key became lodged into steering column behind the cruise leverlocking the steering wheel. When i jerked the wheel, second key bentfreed from the steering column and the ignition key broke in the ignition.started the engine with the broken key lodged in the ignition. I drove to the dealership where key was removed.i was charged $51.50 for new key. I have all keys and key ring.

Consumer stated, whenever the vehicle was started, he was unable to see the needle or the dial on any of the gauges on the dashboard. The dealer was notified. The dealer informed the consumer that was the normal characteristic of that vehicle and nothing else can be done. The consumer has a concern that he is unable to see the proper speed while driving or to determine the amount of fuel in the fuel tank.

Power sliding door alarm will sound going down the road saying the door is ajar even when door is locked closed
Continued problems with 2005 buick terraza minivan automatic doors that open on their own.car had problems in warranty and now at 32000 and out of warranty since february, gm will as a gracious gesture pay for parts but not $500.00 labor.they claim no liability for this safety failure. This is the same problem that scores of other consumers are having with this class of minivan from gm.
For months, almost 8 now, i have been to the dealership numerous times to have my 2005 buick terraza serviced for problems with the sliding doors. I have had the latch system replaced on the passenger side sliding door because the door would not shut and would continue to ding.less than 8 months later i had the entire power door module and door contacts replaced on the passenger side sliding door.i also had the contacts replaced on the drivers side sliding door, and not even 2 weeks after being repaired the drivers side sliding door would not close automatically and when we manually closed the door it would ding constantly, even while driving! so another trip into the dealership to have it looked at and it seems i need to spend another $600 dollars to have the drivers side sliding door latch system completely replaced, apparently it was fine 10 days prior when i brought into the dealership, but the few times we used the door caused major latch issues. This year alone i have spent almost $2200 on the sliding doors (not including the $600 i will be spending once the latch is ordered andreplaced), the dealership loves seeing me walk in because i have yet to spend less than $500 there at a time.my fuels lines had to replaced when the van was less than 3 years old, that is only after the dealership told me it was a the fuel sensor that needed replacing, $375 for that and when i got the van home i had to have it towed back to the dealership because, come to find out, it was never the sensor, but the fuels lines that were corroded and needed to be replaced, not covered under warranty either, because replacing fuel lines is considered wear and tear... Yep after 3 years. I am wondering if it is the dealership i am taking my van to ,or the van itself... I think its a combination of both. I am just completely frustrated.
The driver's side sliding rear door on my 2005 buick terraza becomes loose and opens while driving. The door is locked when i start driving, but then becomes unlockedand i receive a warning that the passenger door is unlocked. If i am not able to pull over immediately to close the door it will come open because of the air load or the g forces while turning. This location happens to be where we have one of our car seats for our four children.
My passenger doors will not lockalso door open why driving andmy t/c come on why driving 55 to 60 miles a hour its feels like u on brakes slow down.
The sliding doors on my buick 2005 terraza do not work right and have came open during driving at 45 mph.the vehicle has been in the shop numerous times to fix the doors and they continue to have problems.
While driving down the road the rear door alarm started sounding and the rear power sliding door began to open.pulled the car over shut the door and locked it.
Consumer states: there was a vibration in the car while driving 45 mph.the consumer could feel the steering wheel vibrate. The severity of the vibrating depended on the condition of the road.on 5-26-05 the vehicle was taken to the dealer when it had about 500 miles on it to have the tires balanced. That did not fix the vibrating.the dealer told the consumer they couldn't do anything else to the car until the vehicle had 5,000 miles on it. He talked to gm on approx. 6-30-05 and they told him they couldn't do anything until the vehicle had 7,500 miles. The consumer is afraid the car may have a bad tire or a bad bearing. The consumer then took the vehicle to goodyear, but they wanted too much money to look at the vehicle.
Premature tire wear @ 18,819 miles.
The contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. The contact stated that there was an abnormal squeaking noise being emitted from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 10v110000 (suspension). The failure mileage was 91,000.
Constant vibration at highway speeds.pulling and severe vibration when braking from speeds over 25 mph.this happens everytime the car is driven.i was told there was no fix.
Vibration in car at speeds of 45-to-70--steering wheelvan has been back to dealer 6 times, has only 5900 milesdealer has replaced 2 tires, forced balanced all four tires several times. The tow has been set at zero and aligned 2 times. Just recently, they put 4 new michelin tires on van at 5700 miles, problem is still there, and it stills goes to right. I have been told again by gm, this is just the way the van is and they can not find a fix, they offered a 10 year 100000 extended warranty on top of the 3 year 36 mile factory warranty. I told them would you drive this van like this forever, the person at gm said no.so i told her that is my answer to the extended warranty.also, they have taken a 2006 on their lot for a ride, and it has the same problem as mine. I have also called other buick service depts. And i have been told that gm has been aware of this problem and still has no fix.my wife and young family no longerfeels safe in this 2005 buick terraza cxl.
This is the worst vehicle that i have ever owned! also, the first new car i have every had and i'm extremely disappointed!!!! i have always driven gm cars and i can't understand why gm doesn't recall and of the 2005 buck terraza's and give people a refund or a new car. This car has been in the shop at least 30 times since feb. 2006-mar 2008. Problems from tires, front end problems, doors, cd/dvd player, heated seats, electrical, brakes, rotors, you name it, it's been done. Now i am having a same problem that i had in march 2007 and is happening again and because i no longer have a warranty i will end up paying for it! i don't think this is right. I wish i could just give the van back and make them give me something else. I have had buick's in the past and have never! had problems. I actually bought a buick because of the higher standard, now i wish i would have bought something else.
During recent preventive maintenance, oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. Technician reported thatthe drivers side rear hub bearing was faulty and needed replacement.further investigation revealed that the rear stabilizer bar was improperly installed.the link was installed through the spring and was resting on the spring instead of being wrapped around the spring.the vehicle was never in an accident, had never been worked on, other that preventive maintenance and manufacturer recalls.wear to both the spring and the stabilizer link were noted. This improper installation must have happened at the factory.
Upper bushings on both rear knuckles are very loose-2005 buick terraza.

Bought a 2005 buick terreza in sept. While im driving down road going 65 with my 4 children thinking vehicle is repaired again and all sudden front end locks this vehicle will eventually end up killing myself or a passenger or innocent bystander.
While driving under normal conditions this vehicle will randomly slam on brakes ,causing the driver to temporally loose control, when this happens thestabilitycontrol light illuminates.
My 2005 buick terraza had developed problems with the traction control warning light coming on warning to have it serviced. The dealer put it on his computer and i was told it was safe to drive after they replaced the traction control module. The light came on again within a week. After the light came on within a few miles the brakes automatically slammed on slowing the van considerably. It happened at least 4 more times before i was able to take it to the dealer for servicing. After several hours i was told it was probably the abs system had failed and they had to replace it. I have never heard of this problem before but wanted to bring it to your attention in case it might happened to someone else.
I was driving my 2005 terraza with about 79,000 miles on dry, smooth city streets when suddenly the car started braking on one side and, i believe, tried to control the steering.this happened three times on three different streetson the same trip across town.each time with the message "stability control active" .i drive these roads regularly and there was no reason for this to happen.i was driving slowly when at the first occurrence and was able to get the car stopped.the second time i was probably around 40 mph and because i was firmly gripping the wheel with little traffic i was able to get the van onto the shoulder and stopped.by the third time i was probably under 20 mph and terrified. I was again able to get the car stopped safely.i parked itand turned it off.it has driven fine for about 150 miles since with no recurrence.the dealer has driven it over 100 miles with their special sensor on and found nothing.there are no codes.they have checked the connectors for tightness and corrosion, again nothing suspicious.they had turned the rotors, put on new brake pads, and done other maintenance work about 50 miles before the occurrence.they do not feel this is related.they are now planning to replace the yaw sensor although they do not have evidence that this is the problem.they don't know if they will ever be able to find the problem.
Abs/traction control problems with 2005 buick terraza.van started applying traction control in inappropriate situations, and applying abs braking when not needed, causing problems with stopping distance.other than being concerning that the van may not stop when you brake causing you to bump another vehicle or worry about stopping distance for pedestrians, no actual damage has been done.
We also are having problems with our 2005 buick terraza. Its been in the shop 3 times now due to the abs/traction/stabilizer issues...and we only had this vehicle for about 2 months. In those 2 months its been a constant headache!! we have stuck alot of money in to this already, they kept telling me the wheel bearings are out, which after 2 sets of 2 new hubs, they should be fine.i didn't even leave the dealership and the light came back on.i am a daycare provider andcannot afford to drive a vehicle that sounds like these problems they are having with this issue are life threatening...something needs to be done asap before innocent people start loosing their lives over something that long ago should have been recalled....if something happens on this end, legal action will be addressed and i suggest all of you having issues do the same!!
Heating and air conditioning system.i was getting very little heat and lots of cold air so i took it to the dealer to have it fixed.they said there was a broken door actuator and the computer module needed to be replaced.very expensive.so they fixed the door so it would stay closed and block cold air.i believe they disconnected the module as well.so, now i have a little heat, but no air conditioning.the car is in very good condition and i have never had anything happen before in any car, even very old ones!i believe the parts must have been defective in order to fail.i live in northern new england and i need heat!
The horn is very difficult to blow.in the upper right side, you can hardly push on the horn to blow, on the bottom right and the top and bottom of the left side of the horn it is a little easier to blow.if you can not blow the horn, the car is not safe
