Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision at 45mph. There was a delay indeployment of airbags, causing minor injuries. Vehicle was hit first onfront left , then in the rear, and finally onfront right.then, vehiclewent into a spin, and after it stopped,airbags deployed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing however, the mechanic was unable to detect a failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,678.the consumer stated on several occasions, he experienced sudden loss of power while in traffic. On each occasion, there was a loss power brakes. In april 2013, there were four instances where the vehicle turned off and the brakes and power steering failed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. A year later, the same issue occurred again. The dealer was unable to find a problem.

I traded in my 95 riviera in april of 2007 after plowing $1500 into and still no satisfactory repair on why it was stalling.the last stall was in a three way intersection in chicago. Each time it stalled i lost power steering.i don't recall if the dealer looked at ignition issues.i do recall that they were at one point focused on the carburetor.it was being serviced by a dealer in schaumberg, ill. Sorry i don't have better recall of details. Once i traded the car, i tossed the documentation. The last stall was scary and the reason i traded the car.

I was told that the intake manifold failed as well as the lower intake(plenum). (3.8l v6) the work was performed by a firestone retail store in myrtle beach, sc. Has anyone else had this problem and what were the repair costs? i sure am curious. As far as paint, i had the car painted for $1000.00.

This is an intermittent issue and has been occurring at different times since purchase in 1999.while driving engine stalls and i lose power steering control.experiencing long cranks before engine will start.however, engine eventually restarts but engine stalls again several times before car will run without incident for a brief period.have had numerous repairs done on this car regarding this issue such as ignition module.had repairs done in october 2013 where crank shaft position sensor, mass air flow sensor, cylinder and key were replaced.in april 2014 began experiencing same issue again.

Plastic radior tank cracks.this seems to be an issue with gm vehicles in general.i have talked with several people that have experienced the same problem.crack seems to start at mounting bolt for radior.i have always owned gm vehicles and currently own 3 however, at the cost of $400.00+ to replace my plastic radior, i may have to reconsider my future purchases.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle was overheating and the warning light indicating the coolant needed to be replaced was illuminated.the coolant was replaced, but the problem continued.an independent repair shop determined there was a leak into upper plenum and upper manifold.the gaskets were replaced and the manifold was cleaned.the problem returned a year later, the mechanic determined the same problem occurred.the same repairs were made as well as valves and adapters were replaced.the problem returned and the vehicle was taken to the same repair shop.

Backing out of driveway heard a loud noise. Had the vehicle towed to dealer, and dealer discovered that turbo charger which sits on top of the motor had failed.

The air conditioning and tranasmission have been checked out a number of times and the dealer says there is nothing wrong , the transmission sometimes does not shift and sticks in first gear , the air conditioning does not blow cool or cold air when it is hot and muggy out. It has been known to blow cool air on one side and hot air on another.

Brake light and traction control switches failed.

Vehicle experienced windshield wiper problems, the wipers would not turn off and would stick on the delay mode, mutlti-function switch replaced in order to correct sticking problem.*mjs

Four years ago i filed a report of what i considered a dangerous part failure on our 1995 buick riviera, in that a fuel line had developed a pin hole and gas was spraying out over the engine.ialso wrote a lette to general motors regarding this problem but i never heard back from anyone. This week we again smelled gas when driving the vehicle and discovered that the fuel line whichwas replaced in 4/02 had again failed and gas was spraying out into into the engine compartment.the cost of repair then was aprx $90 and i would expect it to be more than that now, to repairsomething which considering the safety aspect should have been subject to a factory recall andreplaced with a heavy duty line.

After smelling raw gas for several days with out finding a leak, consumer took vehicle in for inspection.there, they found that the main fuel feed line had cracked and was spraying gasoline to the underside of the hood.*jg

When the vehicle is stopping transmission disengages, and when accelerating from a stopped position thevehicle slams into gear. Dealer has not seen vehicle.

The transmission oil cooling line is leaking but, no problem has been experienced because of this leakage at this time.

The car was shut off and parked with keys out.the car began to roll with no occupant and eventually hit a truck.the keys will come out of the ignition in any gear causing the car to roll if not completely in park, a very dangerous situation.the manufacturer was contacted and they say it is a maintenance issue.in addition the car seems to be loosing 2nd gear, car vibrates and makes noises at lower speeds.

Vehicle is experiencing problems with the driver side seat belt. The seat belt will not support the driver. Owner has contacted the dealer, but the problem still exist.on 5/32004 consumer was hit on the driver's side by a 18 wheeler. They replaced the seat belt with a new one and the same problem still occurred. The consumer believes the design of this gm belt is defective because it does not provide protection during side impact accidents.the consumer believes all buick riviera's need to be recalled and replaced with belts that will work and give protection .

Rear shoulder belt has stopped restraining. You all are showing a recall but the buick motor co. Does not. Mines does have the defect .

Right and left rear seat belt locked/retractor failed.

The consumer took the vehicle to have recall repair oov-057 of the rear seat belt, the consumer requested that the dealer also replace the front seat belt since they failed in the same manner as the rear (not retracting), the consumer paid for the repair of the front seat belts but feels they should have been recalled with the rear ones since they exhibited the same failure.nlm

The rear seat belts failed to retract as well as the right side. The rear seats were rarely used. This failure was due to the defect described in recall 00v057000 rear shoulder belts but the vehicle identification number was notincluded in the recall.

New master cylinder was installed 2 weeks prior to it's failure, while driving forward consumer was unable to stop vehicle the brake went to the floor, consumer applied the emergency brake but the vehicle continue forward into another vehicle.nlm

Steering problems (noise and vibration) not able to be rectified.

1. The steering column support bracket attaching bolts were under torqued during assembly.my vehicle has wiring problems and starting problems that come and go.inadequate torque can cause these bolts to vibrate loosen or fall out resulting in loss of steering control support bracket attaching bolts to the correct specifications.there is a recall for 1995 buicks but not including my buick.

Since vehicle was one year old it has had steering vibration and noise. Buick dealers and head quarters have denied giving me any buletin or advisory info on the problem. They did however give me an extened warranty so i would make no further complaints unless a new problem arose. I only want to know if a solution has been found, if there are advisories on the steering, and how to proceed with them. Buick has been of no help.

The tilt steering mechanism is loose. There is approximately 2" of play in the tilt while in the lock position for driving. The manufacturer seems to think there is a loose bolt/bolts in the steeriny column that connects the tilt wheel.

Attempted to obtain repair under warranty beginning in 1999 (according to owner's manual was six years for paint) on several occasions from two gm dealerships and told that this was not covered - paint was not covered this long period.paint is original paint job.finally was able to gain gm direct consumer number and spoke with amanda in dec 2002 - first was told that vehicle was too old to report damages.when reminding her that peeling started during warranty period she then informed me that if i'd been parking the car out in the sunshine at anytime (regardless of fact that vehicle was garaged at home) that 'exposure to sunshine' would cause this and was therefore not covered under warranty.four years and the paint begins to separate from the primer?i've had twenty year old cars with original paint jobs that looked better than this 'luxury' car did at four years.the incident date shown is the original date i first noticed the peeling. The dealer was first contacted shortly after.

Paint is splitting, then blistering and finally popping clear of the primer.this started along both front fender 'seams' where they meet the hood.problem then began along top and back side of trunk; then rear fenders and finally involved all panels of the vehicle within a one-year period.primer shows first as a green shade that fades to grey.gm tells me this is 'excessive ultraviolet exposure' even though vehicle is garage kept - evidently these cars suffer from sunburn?over 50% of the paint on this vehicle is involved.

Door would not open to remote device or to key.

Rubber fell from completely around the back door.

When making a slow left or right turn the vehicle vibrates in the steering wheel. Vehicle has been in shop (4) times for same problem over the last year. Problem still not corrected.

Vehicle was a lemon law buy back, when purchased it continues to experience front end vibration which was one of the reasons considered to be a lemon.

Dt: contact was going to buy a car from falls chrysler jeep and dodge. It was a 1995 buick riviera. He crawled upunder the car and saw the whole arm that coe out from the sub frame that holdthe wheel on was rusted through paper thin. He did not buy the vehicle but later called to tell them about the rust he noticed ,and they told him they had soldthe vehicle tosomeone, and they had signed three different papers. He did not care if the car brokedown after it lef tthe lot.

Traction control light came on at 35,000 miles in april 1999.i did not take into dealer until december 1999 because i did not know this was associated with the abs system failure.so, instead of taking to dealer and for potential major expense of correcting traction control problem i chose to live without traction control. In december 1999 i took it in to dealership because i was tired of looking at the traction control light on.was informed abs system had failed and replaced valve kit.cost was $870.76!!!vehicle also made a popping noise in front suspension when making a right hand turn.was advised that lower control armwas defective and they replaced same date.total cost $378.25.did not solve popping noise on right turns.

Harmonic stabilizer failed causing sudden violent vibration and complete loss of power.

Factory installed tires cause vehicle to shake while driving, dealer replaced original tires with new ones.tt

Out of four tires purchased from wal-mart i have had the radial belts separate on two of them---of course it made the car very wobblyand i was able to get it replaced but i did not know what was wrong---the tire wasbulging by the time i got it to a repair place---i think someone should know about this and possibly investigate-it frightened me to know that two of four were defective and although wal-mart was very kind and replaced both (under warranty) i am still very concerned that goodrich may have the same problem as firestone---thank you.

The contact owns a 1995 buick riviera. While driving at 25 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The traction control warning light illuminated. Paint has failed along trunk, top of rear window, and other spots on car.is blotchy areas down to bare metal. No contact with any chemical or abrasive. No safety issue listed in summary.

Buick representatives refuse to fix the problem untill they do the official recall.the remedy they gave was for me to pay for the repair and then file for a reimbursment.which i do not want to do.no safety defect mentioned in summary.

I was told that the intake manifold failed as well as the lower intake(plenum). (3.8l v6) the work was performed by a firestone retail store in myrtle beach, sc. Has anyone else had this problem and what were the repair costs? i sure am curious. As far as paint, i had the car painted for $1000.00.

While driving vehicle will start to accelerate, and then decelerate.other timesvehicle will stall out. Contacted dealer ,and the dealer cannot find the cause.

Owner states while driving at 55-60 mph when the throttle is steady the vehiclehas a power surge which causes the vehicle to lunge forward,dealers found no problem when dianostic test was ran.
