While driving at 35 mph consumer lost the abilityto steer the vehicle. Then, consumer lost control of the vehicle and collided with a median divider.consumer was wearing a seat belt, but the air bags did not deploy.consumer sustained minor injuries.

Bought my rendezvous a few months ago and have had problems. My side air bags deployed with the previous owner for unknown reasons causing him injury to his ribs. They were never replaced by manufacturer. When i first got my car i filled up the tank. Bad idea! i came out the next morning and smelled a strong odor of gas and was missing a quarter tank. My boyfriend looked underneath and said it was leaking between the fill tube and the actual tank. My mechanic said there is no way to patch this and the only way to fix it would be to replace the whole thing. Approximately costing $1000. He also said changes are this will be recurring because it's a common problem with this make/model. So now i only put a half tank in my gas tank but i've noticed a smell of gas inside and outside of the vehicle. When i first bought my car the next day my car wouldn't start. I had a dead battery. My interior lights never turned off. Again, to repair this electrical problem would have been expensive. I ended up taking the sensor out, so now i have no inside lights at all.

Buick rendevous. 1st was a 2002 cxl - problems: rear differential slipped, passenger side window regulator broke, ac condenser broken, rear view mirror fell off, back up sensors shut down vehicle - because of this fried entire electrical system, brakes and rotors replaced at 30k.2nd is a 2003 cxl - problems - rear differential slipping, passenger side window regulator broken, driver 1 & 2 memory broken, engine running hot because of leak in radiator - again 30k

I am having trouble out of my vehicle. I have replace several parts and still have not solved the problem. For instance, when i drive my car and cut it off i have to wait 30-45 mins. Before it will start again. I have changed the fuel pump 3 times and other parts of the car and i have not yet found a solution to my problem. I have had the truck for a year and eight months. The vehicle is motion but it cuts off and i have to wait 30-45 mins. Before my truck can restart. It's been going on for some months and i have changed many parts and it still does the same thing.

I have had so many problems with my rendezvous i feel like the dealership has had my car more than i have.for starters, the front and rear hub failed four times, with the fourth one still needing to be repaired and gm refusing to address the problem because of the number of miles on the car, the check engine light stays on intermittently, the rear wiper stays on and i had to remove the fuse, i have replaced the tires three times with no explaination on the uneven excessive wear, the power steering pump makes loud whining noise and leaks power steering fluid with no explaination, windshield wipers catch on each other and i have on numerous occassions had to stop the car, get out and untangle them, however, the dealer cannot duplicate the problem, the rear air compressor still does not work after being repaired twice, fuses blow for no reason.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.the contact stated that the electrical system in the vehicle causes the interior and exterior lighting to fail.as a result, the speedometer fails.also, the power source outlets do not work and several attempts must be made in order to start the vehicle.general motors could not assist her because the vehicle exceeded 100,000 miles and did not qualify for repair service.the buick dealer where she purchased the vehicle is no longer in business, therefore she is unable to obtain copies of the paperwork.the vehicle has not been repaired due to the cost.the failure mileage was 100,000 and current mileage was 110,000. When driving on the highway, white/terrible smelling smoke came rolling out of the vents inside my vehicle.it was so bad that i had to pull over, as it was burning my throat/nose/eyes and made me dizzy-this was in a matter of just a few short minutes.no dashboard lights or other signs of vehicle malfunction occurred at that time; however, this was a very alarming safety situation for my children, who were also in the vehicle...!the fire department was called, along with the police and a tow truck; as i obviously was not willing to drive the vehicle any further!disturbingly, my insurance company (ge*co) has been very unwilling to assist me through this dangerous occurrence; needless to say, i will no longer be a customer of ge*co's ever again-and i will never stop warning my family/friends/the community about the dangers of this type of situation, along with highly advising them to not put their lives at risk by having ge*co as an insurance company!!!!!!

Smoke began to billow into vehicle shortly after our babysitter pulled out from parking lot.she pulled off the road immediately and turned off the ignition.after vehicle was towed in for repair, it was determined that the insulation on the main wiring harness had worn through where the wires rubbed against the front passenger airbag.deemed by mechanic to have been a design flaw that nearly resulted in a fire.i have the remains of the wiring harness available for your inspection if necessary.

The car would buck while i was on the road. During these times the wipers might come on and be intermittent. I took the cat in to a gm dealer. The problem was diagnosed as a faulty ignition switch, and so stated on my invoice. I called gm on this for a refund and was told that there were not enough complaints on this model. Its interesting that the 2003 saturn, which was a recall, had the same ignition switch.

There was a recall on this vehicle in 2004 for the rear hatch. I bought my vehicle 2006. Just wanted to know if i am responsible for out of pocket expenses as i was told by suttle motor corporation?

2003 buick rendezvous.i bought this car for $8200 one month ago.the car had only 78,000 but now has 81,000.in one month's time and 3000 miles we have had to replace the brakes, the muffler, the plugs and wires, as well as the coil pack.now we have a big problem!antifreeze smell, knocking in the engine... Like all other complaints, it looks like this is going to be another 2003 rendezvous with a blown head gasket.i have been researching this online and have found over 300 different complaints for the exact gasket problem.what can we do?the failure info: the car is jumping at idle and at low speeds every time it's driven.it's now making a knocking noise that knocks quicker the more you speed up.the knock is so loud now that the only place it is being driven is to a repair shop for what we are sure is another head gaskets, like so many others have had replaced with this particular model.

I have problems trying to get the dash lights increase in brightness using the variiable control on the interior during a normal daytime especially when i try to see the speedometer (due to the poor design of the dash which can block exterior light from illuminating the dial especially around 10:45 and 11:15 ammst.) esp. When i'm driving

The hornis very hard to operate during an emergency.the horn has to be pressed forcibly in the center in order to operate properly. Dealer has examined the vehicle twice for this problem.

2003 buick rendezvous stalling intermittently and fails to start since may 2005. Once car's engine stops and i remove the key, i am unable to re-start car. I have brought the car in twice for problem.each time it has been mis-diagnosed and i am charged for un-necessary service. Lou sobh has suggested that it was a bad cell in the battery and transmission and brakes needed serious attention - i requested the emergncey items to be fixed the replacement of the battery and transmission and paid $537;however, the car was still stalling.i returned the car to lou sobh, then i was told i now require a new fuel pump all for $900. A recall is posted for the 2004 buick rendevous.i beleive this also pertains to my car model and the recall must be expanded to include the 2003 buick with the same problem.

While operating the vehicle on snow-covered roads, the abs and awd systems abruptly stopped working with the warning lights coming on. This happened several times that day before arriving home, causing the car to slide through an intersection at one point. Dealer found a corroded wiring harness due to water. The location of this harness is exposed on the undercarriage of the car and is still exposed to normal wet weather driving. The failure of this harness caused the abs and awd sensor to overheat and disable the systems. In the process, the wheel bearings also overheated requiring replacement and repair. Total cost: $890.

The vehicle started blowing fuse and the headlights came on and offwithout prior warning.

Dt:consumer stated that while driving on the roadvehicle stalled. The service engine light did not turn off, causing itto failstate of georgia inspection.dealership stated that there was a drain hose that is draining water into the wiring harness, and that was why the light will not go off.when the part was replaced that the diagnostic code states needed replacing, it continued to fail. The vehicle had not been in accident.the vehiclestalledbecausethe wiring harness wasdamaged.

Dashboard lights can't be visible during the day.consumer can't see the speedometeror gas gauge.continuous complaints to the manufacturer have been made with no resolution.

I have had ongoing electrical problems with my vehicle for about a year now. It keeps blowing the number 40 fuse which causes the vehicle to lose its turn signals, break lights, and emergency flashers. The dealer has attempted to fix the problem 3 times since june of 2005. The fourth time this happened a wiring harness under the dashboard caught fire while my wife and a friend of hers were traveling 350 miles from home. It was at night, in the rain, and on i-77 in the mountains of west virginia. A local gm dealer looked at the vehicle. They stated a serious fire could have resulted from this, particularly since a 30 amp fuse was place in the #40 position which is made to take a 15 amp fuse. I have also replaced both front wheel bearings on this vehicle one with under 36,000 miles and the other with less than 50,000 miles. The vehicle has been very hard on front tires.i am guessing due to the defective bearings.

I was not able to start my vehicle. Had to get it to the dealer, where by they found wires that had shorted out to the body via vibration in different places. I was also charged close to $500 for repairs on what is an engineering defect in the vehicle. Its only 2 years old with 56,000 miles at the time. Never been in an accident.

1st time: driving into portland, or. When engine started to make a awful noiseby the time i found a dealer the sound was awful. The dealer said that i had 1 push rod jammed and locked up. It was replaced. 2nd.time 1 year to the month it happened again. Took to dealer and #4 locked up and bent.the dealer said this is becoming a common item with this car. It seems that because of the aluminum block expands and retracks when it is hot that the bolt used to push the rod comes loose and causes the rod the finelly bend.i check with another repair shop and they had, had 2 in the last year. I was told this will continue to happen until i replace all rods. At which time they will put in new bolts with lock tight so they will not come loose.so far i have been lucky that only one at a time has good. If two had gone out they said i probably wouldhave lost control of the car. As it would lock up.

Takata recalltraction control, abs i have replaced both front hubs barings with abs sensorstwice in 1 year. Still the traction control comes on when iam about to stop or turn

In jan 2011, front right wheel hub assembly and speed sensor was replaced with oem part. In june 2011, the part had failed again. Per mechanic, fault is due to speed sensor not returning correct speed when speed is < 8 mph. Per mechanic, this wiill increase stopping distance when it occurs.

The car has a noise and it lags at 4k rpm. We had it diagnosed and there where no codes. The noise has gotten worse. We were driving down the road and it staled out on us and then again when we were pulling in our driveway. I need it fixed and i refuses to pay for something that wont even show up on a shops computer.

I was looking up info on my car found there was recalls on my specific problem.the transmission shifts very hard withpoor engine performance. It idles high and at times it sputters taking off from a stop. I am afraid one of these times it will stall and will end up in an accident. We had it hooked up for adiagnosticit came up trouble code p0742.this is our main transportation and the car used to transport our son. I would really like toget this fixed before it becomes a major issue or a problem resulting in a new car or accident.

When first accelerating, the car stalled out and the battery died. After braking to shift back into park and restarting, i was able to move again. Besides the acceleration issue, when driving and then braking when coming to a stop, it feels as if something is preventing the car from braking creating a grinding sensation. After the initial "grinding", awd is disabled along with the anti-lock braking system. This happens just about every time the rendezvous is driven.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking antifreeze.the dealer replaced the head gasket, but the failure recurred.the vehicle was repaired a second time.the manufacturer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repair to the vehicle.the failure mileage was 46,000 and the current mileage was 60,000. The vin was unavailable.

The first indication of the problem was that the when the heater was turned on, it would not get warm or hot. I took the car to the dealership, they stated that it was the intake manifold gasket, which is a $900 repair. What they did not tell me was that, when this gasket leaks coolant, it will mix with the engine oil and cause the engine to blow or seize. In researching on-line, i have discovered that this is a well-known problem that both general motors and buick are well aware of. In fact, gm sent out an internal service bulletin in july 2001 stating that the intake manifold gasket was defective and that when brought in to the service dept., it should be fixed. Only they will not recall the defective part or pay for or reimburse consumers for the repair. This is outrageous! there are thousands upon thousands of people out there stating this same exact problem, yet gm refuses to recall it! there is a class-action lawsuit in canada for this exact problem and a petition for gm to recall this defective part in the u.s. Gm should be forced to recall this defective part that they have been deceiving consumers about all along. There is no excuse for continuing to sell vehicles with this problem and not so much as do a recall. I want to gm to pay for the repair as well as recall the part. I have already spent over $700 in repairs to the car, including wheel bearing sensors, brakes, and a gas-line leak. These are also well-known issues with the buick rendezvous.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that they have had three of the four cylinder's replaced on the vehicle. The carmax dealership were the vehicle was purchased honored the extended warranty on the first two cylinders, but the vehicle was no longer covered by the warranty. The contact took the vehicle to a buick dealer who stated that the cylinder failure was a known issue and that the contact would need to replace the engine. The contact stated that the all wheel drive and anti-lock brake lights have been going on/off since the vehicle was purchased. The failure mileage was 70311 and the current mileage was 105000.

While driving on highway, car bucks, service engine light comes on....either flashing or solid.1) cylinder bolt on rocker #3 pulled out 01/29/2009; 2) lifters for cylinder #1 collapsed 02/25/2009. Today (04/28/2010) car is back in shop. Driving on highway last night, same symptom.dealer offered tentative diagnosis of pulled rocker arm in rear of engine.

In 11/05, at approximately 43k miles, my 2003 buick rendezvous cxl required a new intake gasket & thermostat after the vehicle rapidly lost all of its engine coolant and i was forced to make an emergency stop.this was a certified used gm vehicle, but the warranty expired at 39k miles so i incurred at $700+ repair bill.now, at 59k miles, i am having a similar problem; the engine coolant overheated, also leading to an emergency stop and towing, and the repair shop says that the same intake gasket has failed again.

Crank seals, oil pan seal, head gasket corrosion and potential failure. Mechanic found these leaks which will lead to engine failure. Reported to buick, examined by dealership. Buick said essentially, "too bad, you're on your own." the car is well-maintained, low miles, male senior driver. This should not occur on a vehicle in this condition. Gm should take care of significant problems such as these.

Owner purchased 2003 buick rendezvous in july, 2007.at the beginning of august, 2007, with approximately 80k miles on it, the vehicle's abs, traction control, and check engine lights came on and the gas gauge began fluctuating erratically.upon inspection at the local gm service center, the service technician diagnosed that the problem had been caused by a manufacturer design flaw related to the air conditioning system in which the condensation drain was made forward facing, which while driving at moderate to high speeds, would prevent the condensation to drain properly while running the air conditioning due to wind resistance.this caused the condensation (water) to pool inside the vehicle, causing multiple valves to rust, various electrical functions to malfunction, and resulted in a musty mildew smell inside the vehicle because the carpet was becoming saturated.the service technician stated he had seen this problem several times before and informed the consumer that buick remedied the problem for the 2005 and newer models.therefore, the remedy provided was that the original a/c condensation drain was replaced to match that of the 2005 and newer rendezvous.this remedy alone would have been relatively inexpensive had buick issued a recall for this design flaw (which they clearly recognized as evidenced by the design modification on the 2005 and newer models), however since the problem was not observable until significant damage had been done (including multiple rusted valves that had to be replaced and several hours of labor), the repair ended up costing the consumer over $1,000.

Had to replace leaking intake gasket @ 56,000 miles on 2003 buick rendezvous. Buick customer services said this failure was to be expected on a vehicle with 50,000 miles. Traded rdv one year later when head gasket failed.

The car over heated while i was driving. I took it to be seen by a mechanic and he said my antifreeze mixed with engine oil. My head gasket blew, the engine had to be replaced.

Engine completely dies making it impossible to steer. It willl turn on right away, go a few miles and then dies again. It has been serviced, the trottle has been clean, fuel filter replaced, spark plug wires and spark plugs have been replaced to no avail. We've even changed tramission fluid and filtered.

2003 buick rendezvous @ 59000 miles needs rear head gasket replaced. First noticed an overheated condition. Took it to a monroe shop and was told radiator cap was bad.then it happened again and took it to gm dealership 2-02-07.told that it held pressure and no leaks.found orange snow under car 2-14-07.took it back to dealer and told it is leaking at rear head gasket.cost for replacement is $1500.called buick customer service.they are helping.found that canadians are suing gm for this problem. The gasket material breaks down when dex-cool is used. This problem causes coolant leak. Engine seizure, gelled oil and possible replacement of engine can be possible results. I would hate to be driving down the road when the engine seized up.could be an accident waiting to happen.gm called the dealership and will cover some of the cost of the repair and i will pay a deductible amount. I am taking it in to be fixed 2-16-07.

Cooling system continues to get very hot after thermostat was replaced.if ac is on temperature gauge stays 3/4 quarters of the way.gm tested cooling fan operation and both fans are running.pressure tested system for leak. Found rear head gasket leaking fluid.per gm head gaskets would need to be replaced.heads would need to be sent out and milled.parts and labor would be around $1849.22.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.the contact stated that the vehicle began to leak antifreeze, which caused it not to produce a lot of heat.the vehicle had to have antifreeze added every month, but the contact never actually saw it leaking.the vehicle was taken to a local repair shop and they stated that antifreeze and oil were leaking into the intake manifold.the repair would cost $700.the vehicle has not been repaired.the manufacturer stated that there was no current recall; therefore, they were not liable for any expenses.the failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 105,000.

Intake manifold gaskets corroded by gm coolant after a couple years.specific to combination of factory coolant and factory gasket.mechanic replaced gasket with one that doesn't corrode when in contact with the factory coolant. This required 6.5 hours of labor plus parts totaling $600.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact started the vehicle and the heater was activated with a burning odor. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The failure was contributed to a melted cable connected to the heater and the air conditioner. The technician replaced the heater module and cable. The manufacturer was notified and stated that there were no recalls and was unable to provide further assistance. The current mileage was 65,500. The failure mileage was 65,373.

Intake gaskets on 2001-2003 (maybe more) leaks premature. Buick has known about this problem for yearsand has not done anything about this problem. Class action suit in canada about this now. This problem gasket will leak without any indication and cause engine to over heat. Have to put the rendezvous in the shop to have fixed( approx. $600.00) buick will not help in the cost. Rendezvous has approx. 52,000 miles.

Dt*: the contact stated the engine intake gasket was consistently leaking. During the time of the leakage, the engine did not stall. When the engine coolant became low the engine would get hot. The vehicle was only at 50000 miles and the contact expressed that the vehicle should not be having these problems at this point. The vehicle was repaired at an independent repair shop.the manufacturer was alerted and determined there would be no reimbursements for the repairs because the repairs were performed by an independent repair shops; repairs would be eligible for reimbursement if performed by the manufacturer's dealer. I have had to replace the front and back brakes and rotors in my 2003 buick rendezvous twice now - one at 36,000 miles and again just recently at 73,000 miles.i had to have $1200 worth of work on the transmission at 62,000 miles because a gasket was leaking and causing transmission fluid to leak into the anti-freeze.buick knew of this problem and had changed the design in 2003, but after i had purchased my vehicle.now, i have been told the transmission cooling lines are leaking.didn't they notice that when i had the transmission work done or did they cause it?mechanic says it has been leaking a long time.

October 21, 2010, williamstown, nj- engine and engine cooling systemat 51,000 miles had to constantly add coolant every week; never saw any leaks in the cooling system. Suv now has 87,000 miles, cooling system continues to get very hot, had the thermostat replaced oct. 8, 2010, engines continues to get very hot in just a 8 mile drive.also, motor oil continues to show up in the overflow/coolant adding container.checked cooling fan operation and both fans are working.

03' buick rederzvous (with 65000 miles) being told leaking of lower intake manifold while being serviced at dealership for brakes. Given estimates of $1200 for the repair job. To its credit buick is helping with the tab (ended up of paying 400 out of pocket). While dealer was doing the intake job, he came back to say the water pump is also leaking which costs about additional 350 for the fix.

At 38,000 miles , was told by my service man that i had small head gasket and intake manifold leaks resulting in coolant loss. Was told repair would be about $700, and if the leaks got worse it could jump the bill up to 3,200 dollars. Contacted the dealer about this problem, they kind of chuckled and were very aware of the problem but as of 4/19/09 there is no recall. From internet research this is a very common problem with this car. Looking at all the complaints on this site, it shows it is a very common problem. Gm is neglecting their responsibilities by not doing a recall. Something needs to be done about this.

Mechanic stated that intake manifold gasket had failed. This caused engine oil to flood coolant system and coolant to flood engine. Engine needed to be replaced, costing ~$3600. Mechanic stated this is a well-known-problem with this make/model/year. After researching and seeing no remediation by gm, this complaint was filed based on the volume of complaints reported for the same issue.

I am writing to complain about the premature failure of the intake gaskets on the general motors 3.4 liter engine. The failure most common with 2002 and 2003 buick rendezvous. My rendezvous had 40,000 miles on it when the gaskets failed and was out of the 36,00 mile warranty.the first indication of the failure was that my heater was not blowing hot air. I took it into a local shop and the mechanic suspected gasket failure before even looking at the car stating that "this is a common problem with this engine and we repair 2 or 3 a month in our shop. The problem is you think you are just loosing (dexcool) antifreeze from evaporation during the summer but in the winter when you try to use your heater it does not heat properly. The engine does not leak antifreeze on the ground, it goes into your engine oil andcan cause catastrophic engine failure if not caught quickly enough."i called my local buick dealer to see if gm could help me out since my car was only 4.000 miles out of warranty. They said bring it in and they will look at it. They called me back and said it was the intake gaskets that failed and it would cost me $900 to repair. I called gm customer service and after a week of negotiations, i finally got my car repaired at a reduced price($360).now i am worried about the damage that has been done to my engine after having engine coolant contaminating my engine oil. I was told by the buick service tech. That "no coolant got into the oil. It goes outside the engine." that is very strange, because part of the repair is to change the engine oil.i want to make it clear that at no time was there ever any indication of any type of fluid leaking from the engine.if you google "gm engine coolant leak" more than 100,000 items come up on this.

I have an 03 buick rendezvous and the intake manifold gasket ($875) was identify by the dealership as the source of the problem at the same time my front hub bearings were fixed at just over $400 by the buick dealership in new jersey. The dealership took my money gladly and later that day i find out in this forum my vehicle should have been repaired at no cost to me. I find it hard to believe the service manager/dealership were not aware of this problem and the notice posted by gm. I feel used and abuse at this point and my vehicle is still have problems with leaking coolant/overheating even after getting the problem fixed. All i want from gm is justice for all us who work hard each day and have continue to support their company and products. I would like to be added to class action lawsuit, can anyone give me information on getting on that train.i found other consumers across the country and in canada on this website with the same problemshttp://www.topix.net/forum/autos/buick-rendezvous/t1tik6gq01p6ghp7d/p3.

Our vehicle broke down in north carolina friday november 21st without any warning.the battery light came on and we are shut down. After towing to a local garage we were told there was no oil in the vehicle at all. We knew that the oil change had been done very recentlyand was coming due at 3000 miles but the oil life was still 38% meaning we still had oil and it was in good condition until the life was 0%. So the oil leak was a mystery.they recommended we leave the vehicle and replace the engine. We chose to drive on to virginia since we were able to get it started and new oil put in.checked all the way-no overheating etc.called gm customer service and they told us to take it to the dealer for assessment. They finally gave us the bad news on tuesday.engine needs replacement.we were stranded in dc for 6 days waiting on gm to tell us if they would assist with engine replacement and they will not. Had to leave our vehicle there and come home. Now they want us to pay $6000 for a new engine on a vehicle worth $8000, buick rendezvous 2003 with 55k miles. We have complete maintenance records showing we took very good care of the vehicle. We found out there was a class action suit that involves our vehicle and relates to engine failure. Action ended oct 2008 so we have no chance of participating-plus there is a canadian class action for the same issues-we knew nothing from gm about defects that would cause our engine to fail. Now i am stranded at home (luckily i work from home but many others would be unable to work with out a rental).can someone help with exposing this issue before many others suffer from this terrible lack of knowledge and failure by gm to face the problem?according to all research this has been an issue since at least 2004 and there have been tbs issued to dealerships.

We have a 2003 buick rendezvous with 60,000 miles. The car has been maintained according to the manual. We have twice experienced lower intake gasket failure which resulted in two expensive repair bills. Luckily the leaks were noticed before they could cause engine failure. During the last failure, we had lost most of the coolant, which was not indicated by the "low coolant" alarm. Luckily we had the vehicle in for window service at a gm dealer and they noticed the problem during routine inspection. We were told by the dealer that the previous repair, which was done at another dealer, did not correct the problem because they had failed to notice the head gasket seals which were leaking and led to the intake gasket failure. They did replace the head gaskets and seals at "gm goodwill" with no costs for the parts. We have now spent over $3000 in repairs to this engine on something that should not have happened. I have seen other complaints along this line on other forums and i feel this should be addressed .

I just found this link today.i have been having several problems out of my 03 rendezvous.i had my brakes changed, and everything has went to hell.the brakes rattle, my awd disabled, and my anti-lock system light is on.i had this problem previously looked at in august 2010.once the rotors were turned it seemed to have solved the problems.since the warm weather has returned, the problems has started back.in addition to the brake system problems, i am looking into possible intake manifold being replaced or repaired due to antifreeze leakage.any help will be useful.thanks!

Bought the car aprox. 3 years ago,a 2003 buick rendezvous with 30,000 miles on it,it now has aprox.60,000 miles on it. Within the last year [ 2008 ] it has started loosing coolant, not externally, having to refill overflow tank every 1,500 to 2,000 miles,we have the vehicle serviced every 3,000 miles, using pure synthetic, with the amount of upper engine gasket failures ,apparently caused by antifreeze deterating head and intake manifold gaskets, ending in catastrophic gasket failure, and most of the coolant in oil,and the only repair is replacing defective gasket, where as the proper repair would be for the whole engine to be replaced, has there been a recall or class action taken here in the u.s. I know canada has, i am concerned because my engine now has a bottom end rattle,ie the crankshaft and or connecting rod bearings worn, i have done auto mechanic work for 30 years and i know this is a sign of premature ware, then engine failure, and i feel g.m. Should be 100% responsible for engine replacement, please advise.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the failure occurred several times. The dealer stated that the engine would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000 and current mileage 110,000.

2003 buick rendezvous - engine gaskets, wheel bearings, awd, rear differential, a/c condenser and on and on. Car is a lemon.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.the contact stated that her vehicle stalls and shuts off at all times.the vehicle also smokes a lot and the gasket overheated.in addition, the driver's side window dropped down into the door.the buick dealer has had the vehicle for over a week making repairs.the dealer stated that different failures keep arising, such as the air mast flow sensor had to be changed twice, along with the water pump, timing belt, and new thermostats were installed.the repair could possibly cost more than $2,000.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 140,000.

Within the last seven months we have had to replace the window motor on the drivers sie, blower motor, load leveler. Now the power steering is going and the 02 sensor has to be replaced.

For the second time, the bolt that holds down the dohc rod backed out, and resulted in severe engine failure. Apparently this is a known problem that results from heat over time. Buick has failed to ever issue a recall for this very expensive preventive repair issue. How can a manufacturer not issue a recall for this widely known issue with this vehicle. ??

2003 buick rendezvous with 87,000 miles. I started smelling a sweet burning smell through the vent. I am being told that my intake valve is leaking and the water pump needs replacing. This will apparently cost approximately $2,650.00. My father owns the exact same car and had this exact same problem arise in his 2001 buick rendezvous. It cost him significantly less. The dealers all know about this problem but is has not been issued as a recall therefore they can charge for it. My father's dealership in dayton, ohio knew about it and when i brought mine into the dealership in alexandria, va the servicemen laughed because they were aware of the problem.

I purchased a gm manufactured buick rendezvous in august of 2003. Beginning june of 2005 the "abs" and "brake" warning lights started to activate simultaneously on numerous occasions while driving the vehicle. When this occurs the owner's manual instructs you to stop the vehicle and try to reset the alarms, if they do not reset you are to have the vehicle towed to the dealer to be serviced. When i did this the vehicle would not restart, this happened on at least 6 occasions, 4 times after a period of time the vehicle would restart. The other two times i had to have the vehicle towed. I have had the vehicle in the shop four times for over 30 days since the first incident. The ignition switch has been replaced and the bcm has been replaced twice, this has not corrected the problem. On the fourth visit to the dealer they did nothing and said that they had exhausted all known fixes.in my opinion there are very serious consequences to not having the problem fixed. I use this vehicle to transport my family which includes 3 children. We currently live in ak where gas stations or services are over 100 miles apart. It is unacceptable to have a vehicle that the brakes may go out or that the engine may not start.i have filed a complaint with gm, bbb, and nhtsa, and i am requesting that gm purchase my vehicle or allow me to trade it in for the amount currently owed.

Fuel tank inlet check valve fracture. Fuel leak .gm is refusing to pay for repairs.this is a known issue.nhtsa recall notice: 07v349009gm recall number: 06230gm still refusing to pay 100% of repairs & forcing gm vehicle owners to pay for repairs on known recall issue.

On june 4th,2008 our 2003 buick rendevous#began leaking fuel from the vicinity of the fuel filler neck. We were on vacation with our three grandchildren and took it to the nearest dealer. They said i had to have the whole fuel tank replaced. I had it replaced and learnt later that there was a recall for this problem. I had my dealer look at the car and they advised me to send in a customer reimbursement for the cost. Buick has advised me that my car was not covered , by serial number even though it was in the same place every other one was failing at. I had brought the car to specifically carry my grandchildren with the third seat. Their ages are 4,3 and 1 1/2. Lucky we did not have a fire. The thrust of my complaint is that regardless of the serial # issue, they have a bigger problem with a lot more fuel tanks then they are willing to admit to. In my 45 years of driving i have never had a fuel tank problem .and the dealers i have talked to agree with me. I think i should be reimbursed and you should look into this continuing fuel tank issue before some innocent children get burnt alive. Awaiting your reply. Jim ryan

While driving vehicle i get a strong odor of gasoline, inside the cabin, with kids in the vehicular it is dangerous for them with arsenic smell....gm needs to do something to fix this known issue on hand.

Noticed a strange smell and the check engine light had come on. Took the vehicle to my certified mechanic (non dealer) and was informed the fuel tank inlet check valve was the reason for both, and that it had been the cause of a recall. Mechanic printed out the recall info and sent me to the buick dealer, where i had purchased the vehicle brand new in 2003. I had never received a recall notice. Dealer claims even though my vin falls within the recall vehicles involved, my particular vehicle isn't involved, and the recall expired earlier this year. I was then quoted repair costs of over $3000, or 80% of the blue book value of the vehicle. This is my only vehicle and now i'm afraid to drive it. I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford this repair. My gut tells me the buick dealership isn't being completely truthful. The symptoms my rendezvous is displaying are an exact match to what i've read about the recall, and my vin is definitely within the range of numbers listed as involved.

2003 buick rendezvous is leaking fuel around where the fuel inlet joins the gas tank.there was a recall in 2007 but gm claims that this vehicle is not included in the recall.

There is a recall - investigation # ea 07-006 that describes a gas leak near the inlet of the gas tank.i smell gas fumes in my garage every day after filling up the tank and there is residue under the tank inlet on the floor of the garage.i took the vehicle to the buick dealer on 10/4/08 and they indicated there was no evidence of cracks and this vehicle was not part of the recall.i am still having the problem and the dealer has provided no remedy.there is gas residue along the side of the tank.what can i do?so far the dealer has done nothing but inspect.

I own a 2003 buick rendezvous that just "cuts out" while driving.it has 74,756 miles on it and i bought it new.it has dies 4 times (and of course nothing "power" works - my 3 yr old was in the truck every time - it's dangerous!) i took it to my mechanic 3 times and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.he suggested i take it to the dealer.it took them 5 days to figure out what was wrong with it.they said first it was a module shutting everything off, now they're saying i also need a new fuel pump.at 75,000 miles it's ridiculous!i've been reading lots of stories on the web with rendezvous' having the same problems!gm needs to look into this!someone could die having their truck cut out on a major highway and being hit by another vehicle!

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.the contact stated that the fuel tank was leaking.he first became aware of the failure when he smelled gas in the garage from the filler hose.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they tightened the hose.the dealer stated that there was nothing they could do because the recall does not apply to the year of the vehicle.the current and failure mileages were 57,000.

The gas tank fill hose enters tank in a poorly situated location. The hose enters the tank on the side, bottom through a flexible boot. The boot/hose in this location is susceptible to damage from road debris. The boot was torn open by a stone the size of a golf ball hitting the vehicle while moving at 60mph. The tear was significant (3/4" tear in boot where connected to tank). The filler hose should have been located either higher on side or on top of tank. Potential of fire or explosion severe.

Spouse was driving to work at a speed of about 55-65 mph. She hit a large skunk on the drivers side. The impact of the skunk with the fuel tank fill hose snapped the goose neck 3/4 of the way off of the plastic tank. She was low on gas, so the problem was discovered when she filled up two days later. Most of a tank of gas was spilled at the gas station, or along the road to get it home until i could get it fixed. When i called the dealer to inquire if there was a protective plate missing, i was told there was none shown in their system. The fill hose is completely exposed, with no barrier between the fill hose by the back wheel, and the front wheel. Just going over a road with big ruts could potentially damage the hose.

Service engine soon light came on.dealer covert buick claimed water intrusion into fuel pump/gauge harness caused corrosion and circuit failure.replaced harness and claimed repairs to prevent further water intrusion.four days after completion of repair "service engine soon" light came on again.dealer now claims water intrusion from passenger compartment and is searching for source of water.dealer was advised of possible problems with filler pipe/fuel tank interface but discounted this as cause.dealer ignored request by customer to examine damaged parts to determine if metal corroded by water or insulation destroyed by hydrocarbon exposure.

I own a 2003 buick rendezvous awd. Service engine light came on saturday. Sunday gas was dripping from my car. I was told by my mechanic that the failure was between the fuel intake valve and the fuel tank. He suggested that i check to see if there were any recalls for that particular problem and there was for the exact same problem on 2004 models. I can only get parts through the dealership and i am trying to resolve this with them right now. In the meantime i have to be afraid to drive my car with my children, and my car smells like gasoline.

Fuel tank inlet connection to fuel tank has fractured, allowing vapors and fuel to escape from the fuel tank. The area around the joint is moist with fuel, and leaking droplets make a spot on the driveway underneath fuel tank. Gas tank was leaking gas tank cracked. Also the wheel covers have plastic bolts and they break off easily and when you rotate tires they break off. People at the shop usually do not tell you when it breaks off because they will have to pay/or the employee there will be in trouble then you lose those wheel covers while driving without noticing it. I have lost 2 of them and could be hazard on the road for other vehicles.

Filled up tank, put car in garage. Next day entered garage and smelled gas. Found large puddle under back of car. My son came over and crawled under car, found leak where filler neck enters tank. Did not appear to be damaged, just a bad seal. Took car to dealership early monday morning, after much arguing dealership agreed to replace tank under warranty.

Dt:2003 buick rendezvous.the vehicle was taken to dealerfor 30,000 miles service. When the vehicle left the service department consumer drove the vehicle 8 miles andthere was fuel all over the road. Also, there werefumes in the vehicle.the vehicle was then towed back to the dealership.the dealership replaced the parts when they did the maintenance.they statedit was not a recalled item for the vehicle.the manager of the service department statedit was a faulty fuel filter.this occurred august 8, 2005, the fuel filter was replaced and the problem has not occurred again.the fire and police departments responded.

Filled tank and parked in garage. Next morning garage had extremely strong gasoline fumes. Backed car into driveway. Found fuel on garage floor. It was running out of the tank at the junction of the fuel line to the gas tank. It appeared to be the seal between the fuel line (where the gas runs down into the tank when you fill it) and the tank, the intake valve. The leak was severe and dangerous, too dangerous to drive to the dealer 30 minutes away. Choose to drive it to a local garage for repair. The fuel tank and fuel pump seal were replace at a cost of $936. There is an nhtsa campaign id # 09v349000 on this issue. On the gm recall site, there are no recalls listed. We called the buick number listed and were told that there was no recall, but the issue is being escalated for review. This is a potentially disastrous situation, potential file or explosion hazard.

Dashboard lights can't be visible during the day.consumer can't see the speedometeror gas gauge.continuous complaints to the manufacturer have been made with no resolution.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. While the vehicle was parked the contact smelled a fuel odor. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed a leak in the fuel tank inlet. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. I own a 2003 buick rendzvous.i am experiencing a fuel leak from the gas tank filler pipe, as described in nhtsa action #rq06009.

Our rendevouz plastic fuel tank started seeping fuel at the filler neck yesterday. After doing some reading, i saw there was a recall and then a special coverage adjustment. The one listed on july 21, 2008 said the tank would be replaced regardless of age and mileage. Then, gm changed their mind on august 8, 2008 and limited mileage and age to 150,000 miles and 10 years. I am very disturbed about this and think that this tank needs replaced for safety reasons at minimum. The fuel tank is not available from any aftermarket source and purchasing it from gm is $1590. I cannot believe that purchasing a used tank would be safe due to the issue gm has mentioned.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the fuel tank leaked and there was an abnormal odor. Strong smell of gas outside the rendezous at first after filling car which seem to occur only when newly filled. Now the strong smell outside of car is continuous and fuel is leaking.this is a subject of recall but date of recall is too old for gm to honor the recall. Have been told that the fuel tank has to be replaced.

The suv was parked. Thefuel tank inlet check valve: the area where the fuel tank and fuel tank inlet check valve connect is seeping fuel.at first i could smell the gasoline fumes and it continued that i had to look under the suv.i saw indications of gasoline dripping from the fuel tank.i looked for internet information.i found other owners were having the same problem.i searched for recalls using the make, model, and year.i did find information that indicated that i and others had the same problem.recall is the name of the situation.i have printed out the information. If it looks like a recall then i should go after this as a recall issue.i will most likely get pushed back from the manufacture.i will make calls to buick and nhtsa to get some help.

As i pulled up to my home and got out of the vehicle; i smelled a strong gasoline smell. I noticed drippin under my vehicle. I took it to the shop this weekend. Gasoline leaking through the neck of the tank.

There is an open safety recall on this make and model #06230a due to crack/leak that develops in the fuel tank.i purchased this vehicle in april 2015 and in june it developed a strong odor of fuel vapors.my mechanic confirmed that there is a crack/leak in the fuel tank.i called buick for assistance to replace the tank and they opened case #71-1490527942.they instructed me to take it to the dealership for verification of the crack.that was completed on 7/16/15.now buick is refusing to provide assistance for the replacement of the tank.my vehicle only has 79,688 miles.the special coverage was extended for 150,000 miles or 10 years. They informed me that the special coverage expired in 2013 and that the recall doesn't cover my vin, although this is clearly the same make and model with the same issue.i can't help but wonder how many other owners of this vehicle are in the same hazardous situation?buick admits it may be a life-threatening hazard and advises that the tank should be replaced immediately, but they refuse to accept responsibility for this manufacturing defect.once again, gm exhibits depraved indifference to their customers' lives.i would appreciate a follow up from nhtsa.

Fuel system, gasoline:storagefuel tank leakage on the side of the fuel tank, when tank is filled up to 3/4 of tank or is filled to full tank.

Gas leaking out of fuel tank. A recall ( nhtsa 0tv349000) had been issued which the owner never received due to recent moves from one state to another state. Repair was completed at a cost of $988.65 which the owner had to pay. Approximately 1 year out of the 10 year recall warranty.

The fuel inlet pipe containing the inlet check valve is fractured and fuel vapors and fuel is leaking out. Gm data previously revealed that elevated ambient temperatures, higher carbon content in the icv and variation in the manufacturing process were contributing factors for cracks in the icv. The car was located in southern florida for an extended period of time which has caused the fracture in the icv.

Takata recalltraction control, abs i have replaced both front hubs barings with abs sensorstwice in 1 year. Still the traction control comes on when iam about to stop or turn

Have been told by several different mechanics that fuel is leaking where the fuel filler neck connects to the plastic gas tank at the check inlet valve. I've seen many, many complaints of this same issue from other rendezvous owners, as well as the same problem of gm and/or buick refusing to repair the vehicle, even though it is a safety issue, (possible fuel ignition outside of the engine usually is). I live off a very modest disability check and a new tank is over $1,000, not including another 4-5 hours of labor. That's more than i get in a month. Gm needs to step up and honor the recall and fix these vehicles. It's complete bs that they are limiting it to vehicles with less than 150,000 miles on them. And my vehicle had less than that the first time i contacted gm about this, but that was before they so graciously extended the warranty to all rendezvous' with this issue, but adding the mileage restriction effectively eliminating any other vehicles actually qualifying to be repaired. I bought this vehicle in 2013, and it has always been legally registered, but i never received any communications from gm about this recall. That, and the refusal to repair a recall safety issue, is, or should be criminally negligent.i really feel like a class action lawsuit is what will have to happen. Maybe since i have so much time on my hands, that is something i should look into.

I have gotten the fuel tank two or three times, but when i fill the car up it just leaks out.

My gas tank is leaking exactly like in the description of recall # 07v349000 but im not sure if it is covered under the same recall. I contacted the dealer and they are being uncooperative in trying to resolve this issue it leaks right where the fuel goes into the gas tank from the filler tube around the check valve assembly.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. While the vehicle was parked, a strong odor of fuel was noticed. The failure occurred constantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a crack on the fuel tank caused the failure and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.

Noticed a very strong smell of gasoline in my garage. Inspection showed a small stain on the garage floor and a slow drip. Further inspection revealed a leak in the vicinity of the connection between the gas filler hose and the gas tank. The drip will cease when the tank is below half full

Fuel dripping from tank due to crack around inlet

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that there were strong fumes of fuel emitting from the vehicle for several months. The dealer diagnosed that the tube connected to the filler fractured and had a progressing leak associated with the fuel tank assembly. The dealer stated that the filler tube and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 30 mph, all the interior lights went out intermittently.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, where the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the problem.the consumer stated the service engine light stayed on for days. The alrm didn't work, the key would get stuck in the ignition, the ac did not cool properly, the abs would engage when it was not needed, the battery was replaced, the turn signals wouldn't cancel, the doors wouldn't unlock when the vehicle was placed in park.updated 12/29/06.

A very small amount of wind pushed the drivers side door(while in the open position) and screwed up the dor hinge.now (after closing the door) the door will not open. I went to the dealership where i purchased the vehicle.when i told them my problem the asked if i had a rendezvous or an aztec(they did not see my vehicle but it was obvious that this problem was happening alot with these models)quoted $1000.00 to repair.

Lower hatchback latch loosened, and it would be hard for the consumer to close/open the hatchback.dealer was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

Nhtsa campaign 04v150000; dodge issued a rear liftgate recall. The vehicle was included in the recall, but the problem still existed.

The rear hatch does not stay open.it is a big danger to kids, adults, etc.we can not use the rear of the vehicle at all because we are worried about it crashing down on someone - you need someone to hold it open while the other loads or unload items (eg groceries) in or out of it.very dangerous.

The consumer was driving on the freeway at highway speed, whenthe vehicle was hit buy another vehicle on the passenger side rear quarter panel.the rear liftgate latch tore from the fiber glass liftgate.the liftgate opened and an 8 year old occupant was ejected from the vehicle.build date may 2003 attorney for client. *ph *scc

While driving the brakes will start to lock up and cause it hard to stop this will continue until the message comes up that the traction is off. Once the traction system disables itself the brake will work properly. If a bump is hit the brake light comes on and continually dings until you turn off the engine and restart it.

Engine completely dies making it impossible to steer. It willl turn on right away, go a few miles and then dies again. It has been serviced, the trottle has been clean, fuel filter replaced, spark plug wires and spark plugs have been replaced to no avail. We've even changed tramission fluid and filtered.

Awd disabled itself and the antilock came on and have started to stay on then when i make turns the car starts screaching really loud so i just recentlylearned of a recall for this so what can i do

Had to replace front left wheel bearing on 2003 buick rendezvous cz (awd) at about 65,000 miles.now the right front wheel bearing is being replaced at 70,000 miles.this is a common defect in this buick product and a recall should be issued.

2003buick rendezvous...making humming noise when turning wheel.very bad.i took it to a garage and they tell me it is the differential, that it will take 9 pints of fluid to flush it out at 29 dollars a pint! if i don't get this done, it will freeze up and will not move.i came home and looked it up on the internet and cannot believe what i am reading.every person that has had a buick rendezvous , this hashappened to.iam not talking a few, there was about 300 of them , just posted on the internet.why would there not be a recall on this?i would really consider that all of them doing this is definitely a defect somewhere.one woman even stated that she had to do this every year that she had it!!!these are not cheap cars to own.i have only had mine 1 year and have put 2000 miles on it.it now only has 55, 000 miles on it.i would like to know what qualifies a recall?i am sure i will be letting it sit while i am still making another 4 years payments on it.no way can anyone afford to keep fixing the same thing every year.it is going to cost between 450 and 625 to fix it...the mechanic told me and then couldn't promise that it would stay fixed.i think something should really be investigated on this one.i hope you check out the complaints online concerning this....thank you!

Driving down the road all of a sudden no matter what speed you are driving and the temparture of car it slips while in drive out of gear and starts in gear when it wants to which is bad on highway going 55-70 mph on the interstate highway when cars are behind you and you can not go any speed but coast and is getting worse

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.while making a right or left turn, the vehicle made a grinding noise.the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.the contact had to replace the front driver side tire.when the spare was placed on the vehicle, the all wheel drive system had to be disabled.ironically, the noise stopped immediately afterwards.once the repairs were made, the all wheel drive was reactivated and the noise returned.when attempting to stop the vehicle, she heard a dinging noise and the all wheel drive indicator light illuminated.the brakes failed and the contact drove off the road in order to stop the vehicle.the brakes locked, which caused the all wheel drive to engage.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that this was impossible.they stated that the two front all wheel drive sensors needed to be replaced and a code was received for the abs light.the contact stated that the abs light never illuminated.the current and failure mileages were 90,000.

My husband and i purchased a vehicle from little apple toyota in manhattan, ks on june 2, 2006.the vehicle we purchased was a 2003 buick rendezvous and this was done through toyota motor credit corporation.we explained to the gentlemen named tim that we would be making a few trips back and forth from kansas to texas.also, my husband wanted peace of mind with him deploying to iraq that we would be safe.we were informed by him that this vehicle would be accepted even under the miles progam and that our vehicle would meet and exceed those.we took it for a test drive and heard some grinding and he said that they would put on new brakes that this was probably the cause.so anyway we have it a year to date and i am making a trip to kansas when it goes haywire.i take it to little apple who will not help me and they send it to stagg hill transmission who tells me it's going to be $4,000 for a new transmission and that all my wheel bearings needed replaced, but they won't be able to fix that.i guess bottom line is that no one wants to make good on a vehicle that we have only had for 1 year.the transmission shouldn't just go out at 24,000 miles.i went to a site and found others complaining of similar problems with their buick rendezvous.i think they need to be looked into more carefully.i wouldn't recommend anyone buy one.now i am stranded, car less, and my husband is deployed and can't help take care of the issues.i would like the buick rendezvous 2003 investigated.

Undetected safety hazard with 2003 buick rendezvous..spent over 11,000 with repairs & maintenance on this suv and now over 5000 dollars trying to find the reason for the vehicle to keep shutting down after appx. 40 miles of stop and go traffic..have had many close calls of being hit when this happens and have had the vehicle in 5 times to the dealer to diagnose the problem to no avail..can not afford to trade and should not have too..it loses power too when this problem happens..they say they can not duplicate it when they drive it..i have had 2 other people experience this problem..i believe this is a very big concern for my safety and others too.

Check engine light came on and took into transmission shop to have looked at told it might be sensor so took it to electronic shop who fixed wiring that had rubbed in half. Started to not go when gas pushed took back to transmission shop and transmission out.

While the vehicle was park in front of the house and without prior warning vehicle jumped out of gear and hit another vehicle.

When snow builds up in wheel wells the awd became disabled and spun out in road, have failed with mud, build up as well had replaced 3 times since owning vehicle. Also feel that the sideview mirrors have dangerous blind spot that could be a problem.

Consumer called complaining aboutgear arm indicatorproblem. When changing gearit would not always indicate in which gear it was on. Manufacturer was not contacted at the time of this call. Dealer was contacted, and stated that they would get back to her.

03' buick rendezvous. Axle assembly (front) failed at 60,000/4 years. Repaired at buick dealership that costs ~600 parts plus labor. Was told it would be a severe safety risk if not fixed.

I just purchase a 2003 buick rendezvous with 41,532 miles on it. Within 700additional miles a front wheel bearing has failed. Any auto should be able to last twice that mileage. Is this a one of a kind failure or has buick's quality control people asleep?

2003 buick rendezvous - engine gaskets, wheel bearings, awd, rear differential, a/c condenser and on and on. Car is a lemon.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that when the passenger and the driver side seat belts were latched, it was discovered that there was a fracture in the webbing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.while driving approximately 10 mph, the contact noticed smoke from the driver's side front seat.upon further inspection, she noticed flames coming from the vehicle.she took her vehicle to a dealer and they concluded that when she adjusted her seat, the track ran over a cord in the wiring harness that created a fire.the vehicle does not have optional heat/cooler integrated seats.the technician stated that the seat would have to be replaced and the wiring in the electrical system needed to be repaired.the contact is in the process of having the vehicle repaired.the failure and current mileages were 66,000.

While drivingdriver's seat overheated. The driver sustained injuries to both legs.driver went to the hospital the next day. Driver took vehicle to the dealer, andmechanic informed the driver that a coil sensor needed to be replaced.

Rear brake line broke because of rust.pedal went to the floor then lost all brake fluid for rear brakes after a couple stops.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.while driving 35 mph, the brakes failed to respond when the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard.the dealer stated that the brake and fuel lines were severely rusted and needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred.the manufacturer was not notified.the failure mileage was 180,000.

The service traction system light is on, and the traction off light is on, and the anti-lock brake light is also on. I was backing up in a parking lot when this occurred, and now the lights all come on as soon as i start the car.

The brakes on this vehicle just stopped working after taking it in for analysis the master cylinder and the brake booster have ceased to work. Pulling into gas station i rammed parking column in front of store.

The service traction system light is on, and the traction off light is on, and the anti-lock brake light is also on. I was backing up when this first happened, and now the lights all come on everytime i am in the car.

On 3/13/2015 my car had gone to a firestone location in indiana due to a check gauges light on.they replaced my alternator and battery. My vehicle was only kicking out 300 cca. I took my car home and parked it. The following day i put approximately 350 miles of interstate driving on my truck. When arriving home, i parked my truck. On 3/15/15 i took a short 2 mile drive and lost my brakes.i have a severe back problem, which makes quick and sudden moves painful. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I was on a winding road and it made it difficult to control the truck at 40 mph. There was no warning to my brakes going out. I had to have my car towed in to the shop as i was not going to attempt to drive it any further with no brakes. I have own many different makers of cars and never encountered this type of problem. If there was any kind of hint it was going , you would think they would have caught it 2 days earlier when it was in the shop. I am currently unemployed and expenses like this are very hard to accommodate.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that while at a complete stop with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle rolled away. The brake warning light was illuminated and smoke emitted from the engine compartment. Upon inspection, it was found that brake fluid was leaking and making contact with the exhaust manifold. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 127,000.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the brakes failed when engaged and the brake pedal became stuck to the floorboard. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle.in addition, the engine rpms increased excessively. The contact was able to stop the failure by shifting into park while the vehicle was still in motion. The contact sustained injuries to the hip, shoulder, knee and ankle from the impact.a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed a local body repair center fo further inspection. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 100,000.

I purchased a used 2003 buick rendezvous several years ago for my daughter.since the purchase, she has had issues with traction warning light coming on, accompanied by a loud grinding noise, difficulty with braking and steering, especially when applying the brakes.she has had the car repaired several times, each time the issue recurs.on 9/28 she was in an accident, she could not get the car to brake effectively, hitting car in front of her.the traction light had recently come on again, and the grinding noise resurfaced.

When driiving 2003 rendezvous when trying to stop there is a loud crunching sound and thumping pulsating from brake as if it is forcing it back up. I have to stump brakes all the way to floor to stop.mechanic can not tell whats wrong with it.almost drove into 4 lanes of cross traffic.car would not stop.had brakes changed and it continues to happen.this is very scary and heart pounds.my only source of transportation so i have no choice but to drive.there needs to be a recall.also when making a turn and using brakes it is worst.very frightening at any speed.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the brakes failed and the emergency brake was used to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who noticed that the warning indicator low brake fluids warning light was illuminated. The mechanic diagnosed that the brake lines that crossed over from the drivers side to the passenger side were fractured due to rust on the inside. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000. Updated 09/05/14*ljthe consumer stated the brake line was rusted which caused the leak. The rust was hidden under the shield.updated12/4/2014

My 2003 buick rendezvous has a abs problem where it engages completely on its own whenever the outside temp is more than 50 degrees. While driving, i hear a humming noise at various time during my drive and when i push the brakes the abs system is activated and the petal pulses and a grinding noise is heard. Although, the abs light does not light up on my instrument panel. This is constant throughout the months of may through october since the temp is above 50 degrees during the day. I have had both front hub assemblies and wire harness replaced with no avail. Then, during the winter months, the awd system disables anytime i have tire(s) spinning. I have talked to several mechanics and not one seem to have any idea what can be wrong. I have researched online finding an alarming amount of people with the same problem concerning their rendezvous, but no solution.

This has occurred on and off since purchasing my 2003 buick rendezvous in january 2005.usually occurs when outside temps are warmer, spring thru fall, not in the winter.at slow speeds ( 10 to 20 miles/hour) when braking and/or turning steering wheel while applying the brakes, a grinding/crunching noise is heard and depressing the brakes feels like you are crushing something with your feet.brakes do not work immediately.anti-lock brake light, service traction system light, and anti-lock brake off indicator lights all come on and stay on after the braking and noise stops.warning lights sometimes stay on for several minutes afterwards.just backing out of the garage can even cause this to occur.recently i had an instance when driving at 10 to 15 miles/hour and could not stop at an intersection.car finally came to a stop in the middle of the four-way stop after i slammed brakes to the floor.dealership repair shop cannot never find anything wrong. Have had in for service for this three times and only error showing up was right front speed sensor malfunction but unable to duplicate problem while in for service.i left dealership and within a mile it started again.i keep driving the car but am frustratedbecause they cannot fix it, and pray i don't have an accident or hit a pedestrian because i cannot stop. Brakes do not have a problem at driving speeds above 40 mph.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.while driving downhill at 15 mph, the vehicle failed to stop when the brakes were depressed.once the vehicle began traveling uphill, it slowed down and the contact applied the emergency brake.the road conditions were normal.the dealer stated that the brake power booster box burned up and needed to be replaced.the brakes have been replaced three times and the rotors once within the past year.the engine size was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 42,000.

Brake failure due to corroded brake line on firewall above exhaust pipe. Those 2 brake lines are shielded together by a heat shielded insulation which in return keeps in moisture and corrodes brake lines, very poor design. Called gm to see if there is a recall and see if they can do anything about this problem financially ,waiting for answer. This is going to be a common problem and expensive one,on top of being a dangerous one. Have to replace front and rear passenger brake lines,if one corroded the other one will follow.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous.two weeks after the vehicle was purchased in december of 2007, the contact noticed a loud noise when making left turns.the dealer stated that the power steering pump was defective and was repaired for free.two months after the repair, the windshield wipers stopped working and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer.the mechanic informed her that the windshield wiper box failed and was repaired.while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stopped accelerating.the contact smelled a burning odor coming from the front driver's side wheel well.she pulled the vehicle to the side of the road.the vehicle would shift gears, but it would not move forward or backwards.the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the brake oil was contaminated and the master cylinder was defective.the vehicle has not been repaired since the last incident.the current mileage was 70,874 and failure mileage was 60,300.

2003 buick rendezvous experiencing problems with the battery, steering and the automatic brake system.***no answer required***. *mrthe consumer felt vibrations in the steering wheel and vehicle which lasted anywhere from 10-30 seconds.the noise of vibration happened intermittently when the key was turned off.the dealer was notified but was unable to rectify the problem.the brake pedal went to the floor once.the battery went dead.the consumer believes this may be the result of other problems.

I was parked on a hill facing up wards. I made a u turn in the street to go down the hill as i always do.as i approached the stop sign i lost all pressure to the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I went through the stop sign but no accident occurred. I was able to come to a very slow stop. While i continued driving to the nearest mechanic i noticed smoke coming from under the hood and now the "low brake fluid" warning light came on and warning chimes were ringing constantly. I pulled over and noticed brake fluid hitting hot engine components causing the smoke. I could see brake fluid dripping under the vehicle too but under the engine. The mechanic inspected the line and said that the line runs up to the fire wall behind the top of the engine and that he didn't want to work on it. "real nice". I have to find a shop who is competent to do this job. I would have no doubt been in a very serious accident had i been on the freeway while this happened. From reading some other similar issues online this should be a recall issue. Apparently all these brake lines run up to the fire wall where installation holds moisture and causes failure. This is not a normal wear and tear issue. If the line wasn't in or close to insulation this wouldn't be happening.

I was driving home from work, i tried to stop my car and the brakes went to the floor, the car started smoking, and i had to put the car in low so it would slow down. And when it slowed i finally got it to stop. The mechanic said the car was put together funny and that the brake line corroded cause its over the exhaust. I didn't get hurt but i could have, but if it were someone who didn't know how to slow down a car, or a new driver it could have been bad.

Over the past two years i have had three front hubs replaced and the saddle for the traction system. All done at the advise of a buick dealer.this past year i telephoned buick and requested their help, as i felt buick should know how to correct this recurring problem, but to no avail. Both the antilock brakes and the traction systems are off, and the car sounds as if it is raw metal on metal. I am again occasionallyhearing the grinding noise, which usually indicates another problem (with substantial cost) is on the way.

I called 911, prior to fd arrival the flames were put out by someone from the restaurant.the brake line had rusted out and the brake fluid leaked out onto the exhaust system catching the electrical system on fire.the response from buick via claims admisinstrator bryan schwartz they claim no liability due to braach of warranty.i claim this brake line should not have rusted out after only 60,000 miles.at 59,411 miles this vehicle was serviced @ vyletel buick included in this service was a multi-point vehicle inspection including the brake system (also including lines, hoses and parking brake) no issues were noted.

Brake failure due to corroded brake line on firewall above exhaust pipe. I was able to bring car to full stop using emergency brake. Because of light traffic and low speed major accident was avoid. Brake line fixed by shelton buick dealer in rochester hills and price was $429.70. I'm finding out that this is common problem with this type of gm vehicles.

Transmission failure- replaced 12/04, wheel hub bearing failure-replaced 06/05, heating/ac problems since new 09/03, brake problems since new, window regulators replaced 2x's, hatch latch failure-multiple, parking brake failure 07/04-present, overheating 07/04-present

Losing oil and water everyday temp. Gauge showing hot. Now trac and anti brake light comes on. Brake pedal is got a jumping movement. We got our 2003 buick rendezvous a couple years ago.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that the abs system was engaging independently and as a result, the brakes would not function properly. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the wheel bearings and tires were replaced and the wiring harness was inspected. The failure persisted and as a last resort, the contact completely disconnected the abs system. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 76,000 and the current mileage was 104,000.

2. A.heater does not work with only 40,000 miles on the vehicle2. B. Abs stopped working after 38,000 miles. Abs light is on2. C. Traction control does not work. 2003 buick rendezvous.sporadic brake noise and braking problems with accompanying warning messages required service assessment.diagnosis was defective hub and bearing assembly on right rear.repaired at cost of $340.00.six hundred miles later, same problem, same repair required. Now, three weeks later, i have the same problem.each time, it seems a different wheel is involved. 2003 buick rendezvous with a failed braking system. Consumer had the braking system repaired. Prior to getting it fixed two company's told her there was nothing wrong with the brakes.the consumer stated just about every time she applied the brakes when going down a slight grade, she would experience backward pressure. The vehicle felt as if it was still moving after the brakes were applied.finally, the abs light illuminated. Soon after, the problem was discovered to be the power brake system. The insulation from the right front speed sensor and surrounding wiring contained an open circuit.

Brake failure on a 2003 buick rendezvous, 36,440 miles due to rusted through brake line at firewall above exhaust. My wife was barely able to get the car safely off the road.car was towed to the dealer; not warranty; very expensive; towed to transmission shop for repair. The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous which was purchased new in 2003. She stated that the power steering failed on the vehicle and over time it developed a slow leak. There were repairs made to the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. It became extremely hard to utilize the steering wheel and when attempting to put power steering fluid in the vehicle, it would leak back out. The hub bearings also failed causing the brakes to function improperly when attempting to stop and early wear and tear on her tires. No additional repairs made to the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were under 90,000.

Engine completely dies making it impossible to steer. It willl turn on right away, go a few miles and then dies again. It has been serviced, the trottle has been clean, fuel filter replaced, spark plug wires and spark plugs have been replaced to no avail. We've even changed tramission fluid and filtered.

The power steering is going-makes a loud noise.

I just purchase a 2003 buick rendezvous with 41,532 miles on it. Within 700additional miles a front wheel bearing has failed. Any auto should be able to last twice that mileage. Is this a one of a kind failure or has buick's quality control people asleep?

All 4 of my wheel bearings went bad before 60,000 miles, i received a letter from buick stating they are offering an extended warranty for the front wheel bearings up to 60,000 miles. This problem was not diagnosed until i had 63,000 miles, though 4 months ago when i asked my mechanic about the load noise coming from my vehicle i was told it was from my new tires and i just needed to wear the tread and the noise would stop. It got worse and i brought the vehicle to 3 mechanics. The first 2 both said it is almost impossible for even 1 wheel bearing to go bad with this little of miles and they could not explain how all my wheel bearings could be shot. They stated when i asked about the noise 4 months ago it is most likely this would not have been diagnosed because no one would have even considered wheel bearings problems in a vehicle this new. One of the mechanics shook my tire in front of me a half an inch, stating "this is a huge safety issue". The letter i received from buick claimed this was not recalled because it did not pose a safety concern. I did have the front 2 recently replaced and the dealer/buick paid for half the cost, but refused to pay for the rear wheel bearings because that was not an issue on the letter i received. I researched online and found this was reported on a news station and over 272,000 people are affected by this.

Received a letter from buick that my 2003 rendezvous has had problems with premature wear of the wheel bearings.i took my car in to be checked by the place i purchased it (quality auto of warsaw in) a week before receiving the letter because i heard a loud humm.was told to bring it in on 9-8-06 for wheel bearing replacements by service manger matt dilley, but on 9-5-06 my front passenger tire sheared the studs off and the tire flew over the car at 50 mph, and crashed into a farmers field.now buick states it is not their fault and will not pay me or my insurance for repairs.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. The contact was driving approximately 50 mph and applied the brakes however, the vehicle emitted an abnormal grinding noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician advised the contact that the front driver's side wheel bearings would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

I have begun investigating and it appears buick has had a significant problem with their hub and bearing assemblies.it seems a recall is in order.

While driving vehicle swayed all over the road, making it hard tocontrol the vehicle. Swaying occurred because the tie rod was loose, and the right rear tire almost fell off. Dealership indicated that the tie rod cameloose from the factory.

The service traction system light is on, and the traction off light is on, and the anti-lock brake light is also on. I was backing up in a parking lot when this occurred, and now the lights all come on as soon as i start the car.

Car caught fire for unknown reasons the dealer said. Started the car heard noise before pulling off open the hood and the car was on fire.

Gas tank started leaking from connection where filler tube meets the gas tank. Other models were included in a recall but not the rendezvous model i have.

To new to be having this many problems

2003 buick rendezvous license platecolor grey. Vehicle parked illegally at gale place and vancortland park south at pedestrian crossway.

Takata recalltraction control, abs i have replaced both front hubs barings with abs sensorstwice in 1 year. Still the traction control comes on when iam about to stop or turn

Dt*:the contact stated while driving at no particular speed the back ground color on the instrument panel made the instrument gauges impossible to see.the primary problem with this is in daylight.the sun beams into the window and there is direct contact with the instrument panel making it unable to be seen.the manufacturer wascontacted and offered no alternative to the problem. The contact stated he could not read the speedometerduring daylight hours. It was so bad that the contact's wife could not and would notdrive in daylight hours.

Nar 05/28/2003*mr serious defect speedometer.

Dashboard lights can't be visible during the day.consumer can't see the speedometeror gas gauge.continuous complaints to the manufacturer have been made with no resolution.

Speedometer numbers are difficult to see during day light.dealerinformedconsumer that theyhad several complaints about this problem, but there was no remedy for this problem.

Plastic window clips broke on all 4 windows. Windows will not go up. Dealer wants $500.00 each window to fix that's 2,000.00 .debris flew in window on freeway hit eyebrow and glasses resulting in cut and blood into eye.

When snow builds up in wheel wells the awd became disabled and spun out in road, have failed with mud, build up as well had replaced 3 times since owning vehicle. Also feel that the sideview mirrors have dangerous blind spot that could be a problem.

When set to heat on vent, heat does not flow like it does when it is blowing cold air.when the heater is put in bi-level position it becomes extremely loud and sounds like the air cant get out when put in heat setting.when it is extremely cold the car does not heat properly.have had this problem looked at 3 separate times, 1st incident told that this was normal, second said they "fixed" it after a meltdown (smelled plastic burning) in the heater controls, now saying there was a tsb related to this problem that they were not aware of and will follow it accordingly.if not, we are seeking help via lemon laws.

I am not happy with the heater in my 2003 rendezvous. I have been to my dealer, talked tobuick and also a field rep.(david brie?) i am not happy with answers i have been given. I am not the only one that feels there is a problem. When the heater is put in bi-level position it becomes extremely loud and sounds like the air cant get out when put in heat setting. When put to cold setting the air flows freely. All my other past vehicles never had this problem and when it is extremely cold the car does not heat properly.

Driver's window "fell" and had to be closed manually; it will not stay in place.

Both the driver and passenger windows on our 2003 buick rendezvous have stopped working.we've been told it could cost up to $400 per window. We've come across several other people with the same problem with this type of gm product.

I bought a 2003 buick rendezvous in july 2006. I had to have the driverside window fix immediately thank god the dealer fixed it for me and now here we are in september 2007 and now the passenger side wont go down and i live on disability and i have seen alot of people that have had the same problem. Also heat or air stops when you are sitting at a light.

Front and rear windows fail to properly move or up down.one window falls while driving.issue is identified as broken window regulators. Problem apparently widespread as parts are hard to find (out of stock).unable to leave vehicle in public areas as you can't keep the windows closed.

Within the last seven months we have had to replace the window motor on the drivers sie, blower motor, load leveler. Now the power steering is going and the 02 sensor has to be replaced.

Transmission failure- replaced 12/04, wheel hub bearing failure-replaced 06/05, heating/ac problems since new 09/03, brake problems since new, window regulators replaced 2x's, hatch latch failure-multiple, parking brake failure 07/04-present, overheating 07/04-present

The driver and passenger window motors on my buick rendezvous (2003) have both stopped working. I understand that there are several parts that are made of cheap plastic and to repair will cost over $500 per window.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. While driving atapproximately 35 mph and attempting to engage the front, driver side power window, the window would not respond. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the front drivers side window guides were replaced. The failure recurred a few years later. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the window guides were replaced again. Three months later, the front passenger window exhibited the exact failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 45,000. Updated 10/01/2010. *ljupdated 10/04/10

Every since i purchases this car it has a defect with the windows they come off track and parts falls down inside the window panels.it wont allow you to roll the window neither up nor down.in some cases the window has fallen and had to be replace, this is a manufacturer defect.

The side view mirrors were grossly oversized and made the vision obscure at the intersection.the driver was unable to view vehicles traveling in either direction.the consumer almost had several accidents due to the problem.the consumer turned his body in order to make right/left turns at intersections.the mirror was very close tothe side window. *scc

My windshield wipers locked at the tips during a downpour on the freeway. This happened previously while under warranty 10 months ago, a part was repaired and now it happened again.this will kill someone less fortunate or me the next time.it is in the shop being repaired again.

Dt: consumer states that during the middle of a storm windshield wipersstopped.they remained in the middle of the windshield.she took vehicle to a service dealer ,and they stated that because windshield wipers were made out of aluminum they rusted.then, dealertold her that it would be approximately $600 to repair and lubricate them.she was told that it needed to be done every few weeks.

While using windshield wipers on high control consumer noticed wipers moving slowly and causing poor visibility. Dealership serviced vehicle.

The contact owns a 2003 buick rendezvous. While driving in reverse less than 10 mph, the traction control warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact heard a noise emitting from the front end of the vehicle and suddenly the front passenger 's side tire began to spin. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where they were unable to duplicate the problem. The failure recurred numerous times whenever turning the steering wheel. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.kmj

Awd disabled itself and the antilock came on and have started to stay on then when i make turns the car starts screaching really loud so i just recentlylearned of a recall for this so what can i do

When snow builds up in wheel wells the awd became disabled and spun out in road, have failed with mud, build up as well had replaced 3 times since owning vehicle. Also feel that the sideview mirrors have dangerous blind spot that could be a problem.

I have a 03 buick rendezvous. In 4/05 one of the front tire hubs was defective causing a loud noise. Now on 11/10/05 i had to take the buick in for a variety of reasons. Again i was hearing a noise because both front tire hubs needed to be replaced. Due to the fact that one was replaced in 4/05, it would be covered under the parts warranty therefore, i would only incur the cost of one hub.when i asked the service man. Why tire hubs would be failing on a 2 yr. Old car with only 44,500 miles, he didn't have any explanation except wear and tear.i contacted other local general motor dealers to find out if they had seen similar repairs with this vehicle.i was told yes!there have been a lot of buick rendezvous and pontiac aztec's coming in for repair and needing front and rear tire hubs replaced.they are seeing at least one to two vehicles per week needing these same repairs.this source said he was told by his district manager that there was a recurring problem with the tire hubs that general motors was getting from a specific manufacturer and that they were now changing manufacturers. I contacted the service manager at my dealer andasked him to initiate calls to his dist. Mangers. Andlook into the parts and what manufacturer they were coming from.i didn't want the same manufacturers parts used on my vehicle again. He said he would try to get some answers but couldn't imagine there would be any change in part numbers (which would indicate a change in manufacturer)he called me back, he found out that general motors had a new part number coming out for the tire hubs and that they had changed suppliers.he felt that this confirmed my info. & agreed tothe repair at no cost to me. However i am still concerned about the remaining 2 rear tire hubs on my vehicle that still have the old manufacturer hubs on.not to mention all the other owners of buick rendezvous and pontiac aztecs that could be going down the road and have a tire hub break.

Problems with losing hubcap equipment. *mr the vehicle has lost five hubcaps off of the two front wheels.these include two originals and three replacements all installed at the dealers.it was evident that all five of the plastic nuts have failed either singly or all at once. *sc
