My car has been blowing light bulbs very frequently. I noticed that the wire what is chard and burned and naked resulting in the wires touching each other and causing my lights to fail. I replace the wiring harness once and two months later the insulation was burnt off of the wire again. There has been 2 instances where ive been driving and my headlights have went completely out at night time and i live in a rural area where there's not a lot of street lights. It almost caused me to wreck. It's not just my vehicle that has this issue. I have three friends who either drive a regal themselves or have a close family member that has one and all three of them have told me that they're experiencing the same issues. This is definitely a safety concern. And if it were to happen to somebody else who was maybe not so lucky it could have caused a fatal accident.

While stopped at a traffic light, the affected vehicle's throttle body failed, causing sever shaking, revving of the engine to approximately 1500 rpm, and eventually causing the vehicle to drive itself forward while my foot was firmly depressing the brake.it propelled, out of my control, approximately 3 feet forward.had i not put the vehicle immediately into neutral while this was occurring, the vehicle would have travel further, out of my control.had someone been in front of me at the intersection, or if i had not put the car in neutral, preventing the vehicle from entering the intersection, a vehicular collision would have occurred.the exact cause of the failure, per the dealership work order, was "throttle body internal intermittent short."

Well first there are a few complaints , first few months ,car alarm going off at random , then trunk popped at random ,brought in two separate occasions to dealer for service was said to be fixed . Then left signal outage few occasions brought in with the other work , had no idea about the bulbs till this site , then radio on and off intermittent , battery or other car dies charges will drive all day end of day after a battery jump stutters as driving or feels like going to just die . Got home on 7/21/2014 and noticed all the recalls on news had no clue it was this make, model ,year, etc., my 18 has driven on numerous occasions (god forbid) ! also i'm reading where this make takes off at random has happened numerous times in drive thru assumed i hadn't applied enough pressure to brake . I'm furious and honestly with young adult drivers scared to death now! ohhh and never received any recall info on this vehicle ever!oh and my key broke to only thing is it bent and had replaced ! and seat was loose also .

Front headlamp burned out due to moisture in the assembly. There is an issue with the ballast in the headlamp assembly for the turbo model. The seal may be faulty due to the headlamp shorting out except for the daytime running lights. I realized that it had malfunctioned and there was moisture in the assembly itself.my repair shop quoted $1500.00 for the repair/replacement as the whole assebly needs to be replaced.this is definitely a safety hazard and a common one for this make and model.this should be a recall due to the faulty headlamp assembly.

While driving the car, it stalled and cut off while in the midst of making a right hand turn. All power was on temporarily but the engine was unable to turn over after cutting out. The dealership is unable to diagnose the issue, and apparently the issue has occurred before to the previous owner. The car is still under a 5 year 100,000 powertrain warranty. It appears no proper diagnosis has occurred and this issue has been occurring on the car since approx. 52,000 miles current millage is 75,900. I have referenced previous tsb nhtsa id 10037218 to the dealership and have received no response as of yet as to the underlying issue. I have discovered other owners having similar issues on websites such as carcomplaints.com and various buick regal forums.this appears to me as a major safety issue as when the car shuts off it does not power back on, and it cuts seemingly randomly.

This vehicle has a recall for electrical system in seats.parts were unavailable.it died and then caught fire on the side of the road.and was totalled.gm denies all liability and refuses to offer any compensation.

Last nite, 9:30 pm we came out of publix parking lot doing an easy left.the engine shut off, all lights lit up on dash and center console lit up saying "lower driver window.." followed by "lower passenger window"!!we coasted to side of road, put it in park then it started and we got home.this morning, a easy right onto highway and locks opened and closed by themselves at about 30 mph!during the hwy drive, at 75mph car stutters, engine whines then catches itself, all dash lights come on and the engine light blinks 3 times then goes out!what the he**.. Could have died!

When starting the car in the morning, it acts dead, but the battery is okay.after a few tries it does start but then i have the dash light behaving crazy - emergency flashers on and various messages in my center dash.i reset everything to normal and am okay.upon a restart later in the day, things are usually okay.being a senior citizen i don't go very far but yesterday, as i was entering a traffic circle, the engine suddenly quit, a huge trailer truck was bearing down on me and luckily the car started back up just in time.the buick dealer (darby) treated me rudely over a minor problem so now i don't know where to go or what to do for help on this issue.

Of age and when this happens to her or myself when traveling it is a huge safety concern, we are afraid it my cause the loss of our lives as a result. We have contacted gm about this. Their representative did not express concern, and more or less stated if we did not feel comfortable driving we should park it and not drive it. Navigation system has failed three times including not accepting known addresses and sending you to awrong address which in one case was a safety issue sending you into an area which was obviously anarea of criminal activity that was nowhere near the doctors office we were trying to locate. It will noteven accept my home address as a destination location. I have another navigation system in our othervehicle and also a portable system which accepts my address as a destination.i don't feel that thissystem can be counted on in an emergency and should be recalled or replaced.

Called local dealership for a few recalls, they said they had to order the parts for recalls so when they got the parts they called and set me a time to get them fixed well when i got there they said that it only had 1 recall and they had to order the part that was already supposed to have been ordered to began with and they would call when they get the part in "still waiting on that call" the vehicle has 97000 miles and is also burning oil fast and smoking out the exhaust, they said it was out of warranty and there is no recall on the engine oil consumption on this vehicle because its vin specific so the bill would be on me to have the engine tore down to see what is causing it to burn oil but i no it's because of premature wear of the piston rings after the research i have done on these engines so far but what ever the case they have yet to call me back and it's been almost 2 months now not sure what to do at this point.

The throttle body has a defect which shuts off all power to vehicle with no notice.the engine and transmission lock up you lose all steering control and no brakes.also no lights so when it happens at night it is pitch black.gm does know about the problem and when i questioned them about the loss of life like what happend with the chevy cruze all members of gm are told to hang up the phone.it has happend on several occasions and the dealership sent me back on the road knowing the problem.dealer rep said if i was a better customer thay may have done more for me.

The driver side light bulb & connector melted. Bulb can not be replaced because housing is damaged. Contacted the dealer and i was told this is not covered by any recalls. I would be responsible for any parts. This is definitely a factory defect and car is not safe to drive. The only way to fix this per the dealer is to replace complete headlamp assembly.

Headlight keeps burning out. It has been replaced 5 times also driver seat heating works for 1 min and turns off

I bought this 2011 buick regal with about 53000 miles on it from a private seller. From the day i got it the stereo, clock, navigation have been a problem. The clock doesn't hold the time, stereo turns off my itself or sometimes makes a loud pop noise and doesn't work. The navigation is in the state of washington, i live in n.y. The drivers heated seat doesn't work. The bumper to bumper warranty was up 3000 mile ago, at this point. Later, the timing chain needed to be replaced. The motor made a loud knock and would surge, hesitate and stall. With the timing being off, the transmission wouldn't downshift and was hard to stop the car. Two months later the same symptoms re-occurred. The dealer charged me to diagnose and told me it was down 2 quarts of oil. They changed the oil 2 months prior.now, i noticed the rear brakes are dragging and don't release sometimes. Gm, buick and two dealer won't do anything about any of this. An expensive car that is barely years old with all these problems. I've seen the service bulletins on all off these problems. No help from gm, just index card readers from the philippines who apologize every thirty seconds and make excuses!

The vehicle seems to want to cut off while at a traffic light! i simply do not understand why the engine seems to be so loud. I had both shocks and struts replaced after purchasing this vehicle. The entire frame seems to nose dive or "wander" while i am driving on the highway, totally uncomfortable feeling.tires are basically new i just don't know what seems to be going on with this car!

The car stalled today after reversing out of my parking spot and shifting into drive. This is the 3rd time in my 14 months of owning the car that this has happened. It only happens right after turning the car on. The steering goes out and the engine stalls, but the electronics remain on, it's a lot like what happens when you run out of fuel but my tank is full. My daughter drives our 2011 buick regal cxl that we purchased in february 2016.in the last several month the vehicle has stalled, steering locks up, brakes go completely out, it doesn't have an electrical and because it has an electric emergency brake there is no way for her to stop. The first two times she was driving around town and the last time it happened was last week at 70 mph on the highway.she almost hit the car in front of her. Once it coasted to a stop she was able to start it and continue on.this gm vehicle 2011 buick regal is a death trap waiting to happen.don't buy a buick!!! i picked it up from the local buick dealer yesterday and they can't do anything. Once the vehicle is restarted after one of these incidents the computers automatically resets and wiped clean of codes without any trace of a problem or issue.all the errors completely disappear.the service person at the dealership asked me if i had a decoder i could plug in right after it happens. This problem is all over the internet and buick does nothing.you can bet that a gm executive would decline an offer for one of his/her family members to drive it for a while.make no mistake these cars shut down completely without any warning and absolutely nothing works at the moment. No steering, no brakes, stalled engine, and no electrical. Absolutely nothing!!!all buick says base on online comments is sorry.sorry for what?killing people? not giving a [xxx] about my family or yours? if they were sorry they'd step up and do the right thing before its too late and someone dies.insurance companies are probably paying out lots of money to their insured and the people they hit, injure or kill.i bet they would love to hear more about this issue.be carefully what you buy because you might be surprised by your car right before you crash.i've always likes gm and buicks but not anymore.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have the recall on the power seat wiring and my heated seats heat to a level then shut off continuously. I have a friend had the same issue in a camaro and had chafed wires to the heated seat. I refuse to pay for this repair and now in michigan it is very cold and i bought this car to have heated seats for a reason. The copied information is below on the recall. The dealer keeps telling me no parts are available but here i am stuck with a potential fire hazard with no repair.manufacturer: general motors llc summary:general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2011 buick regal vehicles manufactured november 3, 2009, to march 25, 2011, equipped with 8-way power adjustable front seats. The power seat wiring harness may contact the seat frame, causing the wires to chafe. Consequence:chafed harness wires may cause a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. Remedy:gm will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and secure the wiring harness, and repair any chafed wires as necessary, free of charge. Remedy parts are currently unavailable. Interim notices were mailed to owners on august 18, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. Whenever i am driving my vehicle for an hour it starts to stall or sputter in traffic and the engine dies completely. It will restart but still continues to hesitate when accelerating. I've taken it to a mechanic and no error codes pop up when this happens so they do not know the cause or how to fix the issue.

Vehicle had recall 12212"a" performed in oct of 2014 at delarship, this results in sometimes if not every time of a mis-calibrated brake position sensor. The mis-calibration results in my vehicle requiring the brake pedal to be depressed almost to the floor before the park position disengagement sensor is activated. It is at this point when the brake lights are activated. This extra pedal travel results in me being able to come to a rapid stop from 85 miles an hour on the freeway without any rear brake lights activating. The brake lights are not intermittent, they activate every time the pedal is pressed far enough, while driving this is only at the point when abs would be activated under emergency braking. Buick/gmc is aware this is the case and issued recall 12212"b" on oct 11, 2016 which reads: "this bulliten has been revised to include a note before step 4 of the service procedure. Please discard all copies of bulliten 12212a." the note states: "the brake pedal position sensor calibration must be performed after the brake pedal position sensor, bcm, ecm, or hpcm have been serviced."buick/gmc has not informed drivers under the original 12212a recall that their brake lights will not activate because of this recall service and have refused to honor this newly updated procedure on my vehicle and shows as "complete"on nthtsa website.bottom line the original botched 12212a results in brake lights not activating and anyone that had 12212a done should get 12212b notification and recall coverage.

Replaced engine a 2.4l laf and transmission a 6t-50 with bad trans @ 149k miles on 2011 buick regal. Replacement is 2011 2.4l laf engine and 6t-50 trans w/ 17k miles.car now has p0089 and p228d codes and whine from high pressure fuel pump asdescribed in #pip5203a. Turns out original engine is a 2010 engine with all the camchain issues seen in other nhtsa complaints. To add insult to injury my dealer tellsme ecm can not be reprogrammed to 2011 because programming is driven by thevin# only. My only choice is to buy the parts from gm (about $1000) to turn my engine back into a 2010 engine or pay a dealer several thousand dollars to do thework. I`m in a position of paying several thousand dollars more for the car then it is worth. This was to be my retirement gift to myself, guess i will be driving my 1997 pontiac grand am until i drop dead. Thanks gm, my brand loyalty sure pays off.my advice to future car buyers, buy another brand!!p.s. I hope this constitutes some emission violation and the epa hits gm with a multi million dollar fine. P.s.s. It dies on the road to. Where is marry b. When you her?

Vehicle dies in the middle of driving at all speeds and can't steer or brake only pray. The check/service engine light comes on. After a few days it goes away. I have had the codes read and the issue cannot be determined. Sometimes the acceleration from stop does not respond timely. It makes it difficult when merging on freeways. I was almost involved in a car accident when the first incident occurred due to slow response of acceleration. Maf has been clean. The a new maf was installed.nothing has changed. Also i am not sure if this is related but i cannot run my air conditioner until the car has been running for a few miles. If i do the compressor will make an awful noise. An odor has started to come from the vents when the air is not running.

In august 2016, i received an "important safety recall" #30710 from buick. The explanation was "the wiring harness for the power seats may contact the seat frame, chafe, a short circuit could occur, resulting in inoperative power seat adjustments, flickering lights on the instrument panel, sparking or smoke under the seat, and possible fire."having not heard anything, i contacted my agency on 9/22/16 and was told "no parts were available."on 11/23/16, burns buick said, "gm has no solution.i contacted gm and spoke with [xxx] who did not have an answer. When driving or coming to a stop or even making a turning the vehicles shakes and then shuts off, this first happen when i was driving the car on a very busy street, the first time this occurred it happened with no warning just a shake and then the carshut off, reducing speed rapidly , causing the traffic behind me to do the same, thank god that there wasn't an accident, but it sure could have been. And now i see on the forum that i am not the only one with this problem, buick isn't doing anything about it, does this fall under the lemon law, help

When i try to use my seat warmer on both the passenger and driver side it stays on for a few seconds and then turns off. The driver side has been like this for a couple of years. The passenger side just started about a month ago. My seat warmers come on but never get warm and they cut off after only a few seconds.

Then car would not go into gear.would accelerate but would not go into gear or move.had to be towed.first thing dealer service center suggest is $3000 transmission.car only has 60,000 miles, one owner.no way! no prior symptoms or warning lights, in fact onstar diagnostics currently showing no issues found with engine/transmission system.this car is unsafe and should be recalled!!!2011 buick regaldiagnostics report from your 2011 buick regal as of 07/08/2019no issues found

Takata recall - there is an issue with the ballast in the hid headlamp assembly for the cxl turbo model. The seal may be faulty due to the headlamp shorting out except for the daytime running lights. They shorted out right after a heavy downpour and i was stopped by a police officer and told that they (the headlights) were out. I got out of the vehicle and looked at the the lights only to realize that they had malfunctioned and there was moisture in the assembly itself.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the driver side head lamp failed to illuminate. The contact removed the assembly and found that the plug that connects to light bulb was melted. The contact called the dealer ken fowler buick of ukiah california and was advised that they did not sell just the plug; the entire assembly had to be purchased. . the following week the same failure occurred, but on the passenger side and the plug was burned intensively, that even the harness was melted on this occasion. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the approximate failure mileage was 59,000.

During the day the speedometer and gas gauge are not readable during the day. Difficult to view instrument panel cluster (ipc) display when driving toward bright sunshine.

Instrument panel cluster (ipc) display is difficult to see when driving toward bright sunshine. This condition does not affect the ipc operation.this condition could be caused by an insufficient color contrast in the ipc display and by insufficient ambient light reaching the cluster face due to deep tunnels around the ipc gauges.please refer to:gm document id: 2371933 ________________________________________#06-08-49-021f: difficult to view instrument panel cluster (ipc) display when driving toward bright sunshine (install new instrument panel cluster with led back lighting) - (dec 3, 2009)

My instrument panel cluster is so dim during the day i can't tell how fast i'm going... My previous 2009 buick lucerne had a bulletin for instrument panelback light replacement.

We have experienced starter mishaps off and on since we bought this vehicle eg: when we turned the engine off, it would continue to run until key was removed. On 01/17/11, my buick regal 2011 engine warning light was on. I took it to dealer service where i bought it (lake gmc/buick of lake elsinore ca, to investigate. Their findings: gas cap caused engine light warning. The cap was replaced per the service adviser (sandy). On 01/20/11, my wife left work in ontario ca around 5pm and drove onto the frwy i-15 s towards lake elsinore. Suddenly while driving, the engine shut down. My wife coasted to the side. She called on star and they sent for a tow truck. The car was towed to christopher chrysler in ontario ca.on 01/ 21/11,friday pm.christopher service adviser [xxx)]called me on mon 01/24/11 to say that they found a faulty starter switch but he wanted to check out another potential problem eg: an after market device (low-jack) was attached to the starter and he thought that it may also be causing problems. He said that he had to run more checks and verify findings with upper mgt. He said he would keep the vehicle another day. On 01/25/11, at 8:30 am,[xxx] called me and said that the problem (starter switch) was fixed and car is ready to pick up. I asked [xxx] is that the only problem? he said yes, and that they reconnected the load-jack and feel it wasn't part of the problem after driving with it attached. I asked if he was sure that we won't have any more problems and he said we shouldn't have any problems.i told [xxx] that my wife is very anxious and afraid that she will break down on the frwy again.[xxx] didn't comment anymore.i told him that my wife will pick up the car after 5pm this day.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

"stabiliti trak needs to be serviced" light comes on and causes immediate loss of engine power.this has become very dangerous and is no longer a safety feature but a hazard when driving. This has happened several times and been taken to dealerships at least 5 times, with no fix.they cannot duplicate the problem but the car continues to have the issue.this is a huge safety hazard when traveling and i have been forced to pull over and shut off the car in high traffic areas due to continued brake pressure and loss of power. This problem occurs mostly on highway travel but has happened on city streets as well.

Icar only has approx 86,000 miles. Was riding down street car shut off. It turned right back on but it was making a very loud noise. Parked it. Next morning went to start it and it wouldn't. Had timing silenoids and starter changed. Car is read no codes and it still went start. Had taken to another shop for second opinion. They said i needed a motor. Where am i to get $2800

After the car sitting in the sun, driving in slow traffic the car is running rough, the gas millage dropped, the brake making noise when you stop. When accelerate there is grinding noise. I pulled to the side and turn off the car for five minutes, i start the car and it run as normal. This was happening before for 2 month. Take it to the dealer 3 times, they advise there is nothing wrong. Last time they clean the bearings and it did not help. Finally they advise to replace the modular for the brake and the accelerator and it required remove the dash board and lot of labor time. They are not sure 100% it will work as it is not shown on the scan

Purchased car in summer of 2011. During the first cold weather car would give a warning to service stabiliti trac and that the engine power had been reduced. I decided to pull over and restart the vehicle and it would reset the computer and the warning lights would turn off. I took this to the dealer and they could not replicate the issue. I started to let the car warm up in the winter and this seemed to help until recently. Within the last few weeks i have been having similar problems even after letting the car warm up. The car will automatically reduce engine power even while on the highway making it difficult to get out of the way of traffic. After these incidents the check engine light will come on but will go off after turning the car off and restarting. I have contacted onstar and they tell me the same thing that the warning lights do. I have also had issues with the car trying to accelerate on its own while at a stoplight. After going to the dealer and having them not able to diagnose the problem or try to repair it and not fix the issues, i feel at a loss of what to do at this point. I do not have the time or money to keep going to the dealer only to leave with the same problems. I would think that the manufacturer would be more inclined to fix these issue before people are injured or any fatalities occur due to their negligence. I feel that after reading about other people's similar issues that this is something that should call for a recall.

53000 miles. When car is in motion. Car goes to low power more and check stabili-track message comes on. Car shakes bad at idle, idles too high,(almost to a point where brakes won't hold at a stop). Shut down and restart car goes back to normal conditions for short puerile of time. Check engine light comes on and code for throttle body malfunction is detected. Called buick service number and was told it would be under warranty. Made appointment with dealership checked code and determined same code issue and it was not covered under warranty. Did. Not have them fix it yet. Cost is excessive and was told under warranty by manufacturer. Waiting on customer service call back. Car is unsafe to drive. Have seen many similar complaints but have seen nothing done by buick or ntsb.

Takata recall- my regal is 2011.i have not had any problems prior to this. My service stabilitrak ligh began coming on along with abs light. I also explained the check engine light would come on after filling the tank and it reduced to 3/4 of tank. Last week all lights came in on car as i was parking.took the car into to be serviced. The dealer completed a diagnosis advising i had a leak from my fuel pump. Needed new fuel pump, fuel injectors. For the abs problem needed new bearings and sensors. I drove away for second opinion. The next day while driving slowed for a traffic light and pressed gas to take off the car would not accelerate. The engine was running. I had to turn car on and back off to get to move to the center of the road during rush hour.i sat there for a min.was able crack and get to a safe place off the major road. I got a second opinion having the car towed to firestone.they also saw a fuel pump code and mentioned the timing chain. I had car towed to the dealer. They replaced the fuel pump on my way home on the interstate. I slowed for the exit and hit the gas. The car stalled again. I was afraid at that point.the dealer cannot tell me what the exact issue is with the car. It is still there for diagnostic now. They had to escalate and still no answer.they are using trial and error to resolve the issue which is a dangerous and expensive joke.

I was driving down the city road and my car just shut off and lost all power to everything. I almost got hit. I then turned my car back on and the service stability trac light came on and the check engine light was flashing. I could nearly get it to go at all and my car was shaking and sputtering.it was the scariest thing i have ever dealt with. I had it put in the shop on 10/26/2018 and now it just happened to me again and its 03/26/2020.

I have owned my regal since 2011. As i accelerate the car would shudder and shake, then i would get a service stabilli trac message followed by a message stating that the engine power has been reduced. After i have the issue it will reset itself after restarting and then will run fine for a while. I called on star on several occasions and they told me that it has an engine misfire or the stability trac needs to be serviced or the electronic throttle body is malfunctioning. I have taken the car to the dealer and they tried to fix without any luck. I think part of the trouble with fixing it is the fact that the computer resets itself and therefore they can't find a code. The other issue with trying to fix is the fact that the car only has the issue when it is 35-40 degrees outside and below. Other issues i have had, driver's seat heater not working, outside trunk release not working, passenger side seat belt does not connect properly and of course the recalls for the driver's seat bolt and exterior turn signals. Now for the bad news for myself is that the car is out of warranty. Given the fact that i have read many similar complaints and most of them not being resolved, i find it very hard to bring myself to take it to the dealer and have them guess to what the fix may be at my expense.

Driving on highway 95 and car brakes seemed to vibrate ,car dropped intostabil trak/traction mode !i was going about 30-40 miles per hour there was heavy traffici pulled over tried to follow directions to take stability trac off and car locked itself i am currently having it towed

While traveling 55 miles per houron the high way the car shut off causing me to force the wheel on the road. I reported this and was given rental cars for the noises and belts to be examined. The noise subsided a few weeks only to return when driving about 45 miles per hour and the car cut off again. This time in traffic march 2013. The third time was in april 2013 . The last time was june 16, 2013. It has been in the shop over 45 days. Nothing was told to me was wrong. Then why is it shutting off while im driving?

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that there was an abnormally strong odor in the cabin of the vehicle. The contact called john hiester chevrolet located at 3100 n main st, fuquay-varina, nc 27526, (919) 552-4944, to notify the dealer of the failure. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic who was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. None of the 4 recalls were fixed on this 2011 buick regal cxl 2.4l car when i purchased this car at billion auto in iowa city, iowa.the stabilitrak is bad and was never brought up in the process of purchasing the car and i have had to change my brakes, rotors, and calipers in the rear both sides 3 times in the last 2 years. I'm not happy.

In the last year i have had to replace brake pads, calipers and rotors 3 times in 1 year in my 2011 buickregal cxl 2.4l. Now i'm getting ready to do it for a 4th time. I was soldcar that had a hole in the middle of my exhaust that i didn't know was there until winter came and had to run the heat. The stabilitrak system came on out of the blue and shut my car off going down the highway.i have had nothing but problems with this car. I'm just fed up and over it. Its costing me way too much money for only only the car for a little over a year now.

Brake pedal stay down and does not release causing heating and reduce acceleration. It is a safety issue during fast moving and can't predict the car movement. Brake and accelerator pedal assembly not design to work in a wide range of temperatures. It is serious danger in the highway driving.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the stability control warning indicator randomly flashed. In addition, upon making a right turn, the vehicle hesitated, shook, and vibrated as if it would stall. The vehicle was taken to two different dealers several times, but the failure was unable to be replicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired, but it still experienced a slight vibrations.

I was driving on a busy street got to red light everything was fine until the light turned green i pressed the gas peddle and then my car just shut off completly.i had to restart the engine then it drove very slugish im just glade i wasnt in a crash

Tamara recall;my buick regeal is 2011 with 84000 mileage. A frustrating rotting/granding noise comes out from the engine from the car ignition turn on to accelerating fr0-25mph, before the annoying noise stop. Engine also misfire and car dies when it likes;stability control indicate on the screen.when check online, lots of people have complained about the same problem and how difficult for it to be resolve as many things brocken can cause the problems.

Nyb car has less than 69k miles and is burning through oil. I bought it used and the dealer liked warranty ended before problems started. My check engine light came on within the first 2000 miles of me driving and the dealer wanted to charge me another $200 for a diagnostic. So i went to a mechanic and he said the engine was burning through oil faster than it should. At this point the car had turned off while under 10mph twice which is dangerous as the brakes lock up along with steering becoming very stiff. A mechanic did work on the car replacing plugs and other parts that had been damaged fue to the oil being gone, but the same engine is still in the car.now less than a year later along with regular oil changes the car still burns through oil. The engine causes the car to rock when at idle and when moving under 5mph. My fear is that ive car will shut off again. This is a fault of buick for designing an engine that can't hold oil.

Driving my car at around 30mph, the car completely shuts off without warning. There is no shutter or sound. It is just suddenly completely turned off. No brakes. No power steering. No gas. You must pull the car over. Come to a complete stop. Put the car in park. Turn the key completely off, and then the car will restart almost every time. This has happened to me 5 times in the 9 years that i have owned it. But it has happened 3 times in the last 3 days.no mechanic nor the dealer can identify the problem. I have replaced the serpentine belt twice, and the throttle body/throttle position sensor.

While driving down the road yesterday, at around 50 miles per hour, our 2011 buick regal, with only 56,000 miles on it, lost power out of the blue and would not drive over 30 miles per hour. It apparently was in reduced power mode due to a faulty throttle body. Thankfully we were not on the expressway, as this would have been a very dangerous situation given the roads were very icy yesterday. Apparently, many 2010 - 2012 buick regals are covered for this with a special coverage adjustment so it is a known problem. We believe our vehicle should be included in this adjustment as well. As i mentioned earlier, this could be a very dangerous situation and we believe it needs to be addressed.

There have been issues with the engine starting which is apart of a class suit but has not been solidified.i am angered as to why my car keeps not starting when in position.i have to try to start my vehicle several times before actually starting.now i take it in and its still an engine issue which they said it was the camshaft.my local dealership has no loaner vehicle and im now without a vehicle. So upsetting.

The car doesnā€™t stay on park still will move forward or backwardsthe gear shift locks and does not movewhen i turn it makes a huge clack sound

My 2011 buick regal with the 2.4l 4cyl has been excessively consuming oil. The timing chain was replaced around 60k miles, and shortly after the complete engine was replaced (see carfax image attached, confirmed with dealer). Those repairs have happened before i owned this vehicle. My concern is that there is going to be a failure within my engine and the repairs would be costly to me. I believe this issue needs to be looked into as it's been a common issue with these engines. The vehicle is now at 159k miles and i've been adding a quart or more of oil between changes.

On saturday, 4/18/15, i was in the intersection waiting to make a left hand turn; the vehicle was not moving. When it was clear to complete the left hand turn, i placed my foot on the accelerator and the vehicle would not move forward. By this time, the light changed to red, permitting traffic in the opposite direction to move forward. However, i am in the middle of the intersection unable to move. I shut the vehicle off and restarted the vehicle at which time, i was able to maneuver my vehicle out the away and complete my left hand turn. I took it to the buick dealership located at 7400 w cermak road in north riverside, il on 4/20/15 and they found nothing wrong with it. So i picked up my vehicle home 4/20/15 and drove it home. On the ride home, it performed with no issues. Then on tuesday, 4/21/15, i was sitting at a red light. Once the light turned green which permitted me to move forward, i placed my foot on the acceleration. The vehicle jolted forward an inch or so and would not move forward any longer. The van behind me had to swing to the right of my vehicle to avoid rear ending me. This is a very dangerous situation. This could cause accidents and/or injury and fatalities. Ialso had my 13 yr old daughter in the vehicle with me during both incidents. I've seen numerous complaints about this same problem. This needs to be addressed as the could end someone's life or seriously injure someone.

Broken purge valve

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the timing chain was stretched, which caused a knocking and ticking noise from the engine. The contact was informed that there was a service bulletin associated with the issue. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact was advised to file a complaint with nhtsa to see if the vehicle could be repaired per a technical service bulletin. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Vehicle dies in the middle of driving at all speeds and can't steer or brake only pray. Also, i turned vehicle off and won't restart tower to service center they said i need new engine!!!! i was just driving it no smoke no smell just won't start he said no oil in engine even though not scheduled for a oil change yet. Radio won't keep date or time or radio stations!

Timing belt tensioner broke which cause timing chain replacement at 125k

My brake pedal is sticking causing my car to stall and my cruise control not to work, i have to manually pull my break pedal back up after i use my brakes while driving. My car is also just dying with no warning, while driving down the interstate. My lights, and radio will stay on when this happens, but my air conditioner and engine will cut off.it has happened over a handful of times in the last 3 weeks, it's gotten to the point that i am scared to drive it anywhere.

While the vehicle was driving, there was a loss of power, at that moment sparks was seen emanating from under the hood, then the vehicle completely stopped running. Once pulled over smoke was bellowing out from the hood and subsequently ignited into flames. Fire department was dispatched and fire was extinguished. The vehicle was towed away and is still at the tow yard. The tow operator, based on visual inspection stated the fire did start in the engine compartment and spread to the fire wall, totaling the vehicle.

2.4 l 4cyl engine burning excessive oil between oil changes

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving and while stationary, the vehicle shut off unexpectedly. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart successfully. Later, when backing out of a parking space at 2 mph, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated while traveling at any speed the service engine light illuminated intermittently on more than one occasion. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who did not diagnose the failure nor did they repair the vehicle. The code was cleared on the instrument panel by an authorized dealer and the failure recurred. The contact continued to see the service engine light illuminate and the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the crank shaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

While approaching an intersection at approximately 35 mph my 2011 buick regal with less than 48,000 completely stalled out. No warning at all. All the lights were on in the dash including a stabili trac. Light and a message that read engine power reduced. I then blared my horn and cruised thru the intersection on a red light thankful it just turned red and opposing traffic hadn't started across yet. I was finally able to stop the car that had absolutely no power steering and abs was turned off and shut the car off. I waited a few minutes until my nerves calmed down and restarted the car all the lights were off except the engine light. Drove the car home and called the dealership, who then had it towed to them. By that time the computer restarted itself and no check engine light was on, with that no reading as to what the problem was at the dealership and i was left being looked at as if i didn't know what i was talking about. This happened approximately 3 months ago and i have had the same problem a total of 3 times since then. When is buick going to step up to the plate and finally do something about this? are they waiting for someone to be killed first? i've read this same problem with the same car numerous times on numerous sites...where is our help????

Vehicle running rough and stalling; 2nd replacement of timing chain, fuel pump tensioner/belt

Buick regal 2011 is currently at 67k, the vehicle had transmission replaced at 63k.the automobile continues to stall as there seems to be concerns related to the acceleration/power of the car at times, vehicle doesn't display the power it should be driving with.in addition automobile is making a squeaking noise from the water pump or belt when vehicle air conditioning is ran (either in motion or stationary).

We are big fans of our buick's, as of now we've owned three and have had no problems. But now with only 87,000 miles on it the timing chain guide tensioner has to be replaced. It was diagnosed in an emissions test. We've looked on line for a recall and all we see are so many others with the same issue and no help. This is extremely frustrating to us as buick owners . I'm asking that you recall this issue and keep us buick owners. It's a very costly issue to replace and for less than 90,000 miles on our regal that's not normal. I am asking you to contribute/reimburse us for at the very least a portion of the cost. With a baby on the way we had no choice but to take it in for the repairs. We'd love to continue with purchasing buicks in the future but if this will not be looked into we will have to rethink gm products. Please help all your loyal customers. Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated..

113,000 miles, the car said reduced engine power, service stabillitrack and then died.wouldn't start.took to repair shop and they pulled the solenoid from the engine and said it was covered with metal shavings. Car was within oil change range but no oil present.now have to replace the engine and this is an issue with all these 2.4 engines.

I first got my car with 20k miles on it. Drove it for a month and the stability control warning came on. The car stalled and i had to restart it, only for it to do it a couple more times. Very scary!!! this needs to be taken care of, as i bought a lemon! took it to the dealership as it was under warranty and they said they fixed it. Happened again a few months later! apparently they didn't fix it. Gm needs to identify the problem and recall this, as i see more and more complaints of the same thing! class action needs to be filed otherwise.

When at a stop sign my vehicle died. I was able to restart it but at slow speeds it continued to die. On the way home, at highway speeds the car performed fine. At slow speeds the rest of the day and during a test drive the next day, after about 10 minutes, the vehicle died almost continuously, losing power steering etc. To get home i had to keep a foot on the gas while braking/turning and stopped to keep the idle speed up. I was able to get it to the dealer the next day. The diagnostic check revealed a p0010 failure code from which they found the intake camshaft actuator solenoid was shorted. They replaced it and currently it is operating fine. They indicated it was not covered under warranty and not subject to the specific vehicle recall that i received.

Timing chain loosened due to tensioner breaking due to the bolt holding it in place widening the hole it was in over time causing the car to jump time and possibly bending all the valves in the motor. Car was being driven on the highway when it stalled and shut off. We had just made a turn so luckily we were not going fast when this happened. No warning lights came on. No codes came up on the computer either when checked.

The throttle body has a defect which shuts off all power to vehicle with no notice.the engine and transmission lock up you lose all steering control and no brakes.also no lights so when it happens at night it is pitch black.gm does know about the problem and when i questioned them about the loss of life like what happend with the chevy cruze all members of gm are told to hang up the phone.it has happend on several occasions and the dealership sent me back on the road knowing the problem.dealer rep said if i was a better customer thay may have done more for me.

I was driving about 35 mph and was coming into an intersection in which i needed to turn. Stoplight turned red, so i stopped. As soon as i stopped, the car just died. Would not restart. Had to call a tow truck. My daughter was in the car! we could have seriously been hurt. Someone please figure out what is going on. Have had my car at dealer before and mentioned stalling, but nothing has been done. Will be having it towed back in monday.

Vehicle was being driven off of main highway into a shopping center parking lot when the engine shut off causing the vehicle to lose power steering and brakes.vehicle would not restart and needed to be towed to lester glenn buick that night.the next day after sitting in the dealership parking lot, the vehicle was able to start and the dealership stated they were"unable to duplicate the problem" and found nothing wrong with the vehicle.i presently own two(2) 2011 buick regal and both have experienced this same problem with loss of steering and braking.i havecontacted g m numerous times and have received no calls back from their "senior "adviser.have also read about similar complaints on the internet with these vehicles. Hopefully g m will address this serious safety issue before someone gets seriously hurt

The engine shuts off when i slow down to make a left turn, this has happened twice.it does start again. I am afraid to drive it know.

Timing chain damaged engine

Car stalls while driving on the highway, tremendously dangerous to my family and other drivers. This happens without warning and no check engine lights, the car becomes completely unresponsive but all the lights are still on. This scenario is hazardous to the traveling public on all roadways!

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While the vehicle was being inspected by an independent mechanic, it was discovered that the cam shaft position actuator solenoid valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in a manufacturer's recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,775.

The dealer cannot replicate the issue and will not do anything. They claim they've never heard of this issue before.

Vehicle cut off while i was driving.loss all control while turning a corner in town

My car stalled while driving home from work on the freeway, almost causing me to get hit by the car behind me. The car had been running fine, there were no indicator/warning lights flashing on my dash prior to this. I and it towed to a mechanic close by and he told me it looks like the timing chain had broke. I bought this as a certified car and have always had the oil changed as soon as the vehicle information lamp indicated it was due.

Engine keeps stalling., it happens at intersections and randomlly after accelerating.the car dies.i have had this checked by dealers and several mechanics.very loud noise when vehicle starts up.runs rough and does not accelerate correctly.shakes whenever idle and turns off randomlly.possible ecm software update needed based on internet search for the similiar issue with this model and year.dealer was unable to assist or even comment on any updates to software without going in and paying for inspection again. Fuses, air intake, o2 sensors filers, everything has been checked.

Check engine light on. Code p0011 present. Indicating over-advanced camshaft position sensor. While performing a u-turn, the vehicle died/lost engine power and steering locked in place in the middle of the road. The vehicle was spread across three lanes, as i was in the middle of my u-turn, with oncoming traffic approaching. Luckily, i was able to start the car back up and regain control just as traffic neared my position. Almost deadly situation. Also noticing engine hesitation as well as shaking of the vehicle while idling.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled and the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21,200.

Engine consuming oil with no leaks. Tech said that oil is passing through rings and burning during combustion. My car has 174000 miles and has been well cared for. I am very upset that the remedy for this is to overhaul or replace the engine. Also, a/c doesn't work anymore. Tech says compressor has failed. Please remedy. Last american car i buy.

The car was very noisy at start up. Had the oil changed, the noise was better for a while but came back in less than 2 months and now it is constant. The car will stall out in the middle of driving. I will lose everything, electrical and power steering. This would happen whether or not on a highway or during city driving. Engine light came on and i took it to my mechanic. Mechanic told me it was in reduce power mode. Camshaft coralation code.

I received a letter from buick which said my balancing belt (timing chain) could break causing enginedamage. They would not do anything about it until it broke. They extended the warranty in case that happened. If the timing chain breaks and the engine stops, i will lose steering control which is a comforting thought. If i am on interstate doing 70 mph and lose steering, good bye!

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving 10 mph, the contact observed an abnormal sound coming from the engine without warning. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer advised the contact to conduct an oil consumption test over the next two months. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

Engine of my car acts weird and i took it to the mechanic shop and they say theres nothing wrong

I experience intermittent noise from the right/passenger side of the engine compartment.i drove vehicle to suburban buick gmc and was unable to duplicate noise and no action was taken.on while in el paso, tx the noise return and would not stop.drove vehicle to shamaley buick gmc on june 28, 2012 and the belt tensioner was replace (invoice 25754milage 35416).again, the intermittent noise return and again i took vehicle to suburban buick gmc and service center was unable to duplicate noise.advise service of previous repair and since problem could not be duplicated in service area, no action was taken.while in las vegas, nv took vehicle to fairway chevrolet buick gmc on june 17, 2013 for another concern.while in service area service advisor duplicated the noise while moving vehicle.service advisor know what causes the noise, the repair was perform in addition to the other concern.replace belt tensioner and serpentine belt (tag 0059 mileage 71195)the original part fails and was replace then the second part fails.this part should not fail in 35,000 miles.this is something that should be investigated.

Engine stalling in intersection, and in a parking lot.was attempting to cross an intersection and car just died, started it again it moved very roughly and died again.it was hot outside and i had the air running. No dtc codes present.it has now happened several more times while just letting off the gas and pulling into a parking spot.it's very random and i am afraid to have my wife or daughter drive the vehicle and have it die in a cross road or intersection.lots of posts on similar issues, but no recalls from buick.....will someone have to die first?

Timing chain engine failure

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced overheating and stalling. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to wright chevrolet buick where it was diagnosed that the balanced chain was fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and explained that the remedy would be at the contact's expense. If a recall occurred, the contact would be reimbursed. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Vehicle has serious oil consumption issues. Will burn as much as 3 or more quarts in 1000 miles or less. Was notified by chevrolet mechanic that some oil consumption was normal, but that if the consumption was excessive that i would have to pay up to $3500 or more to fix the car. There isn't a recall out on this make and model, but all cars equipped with this 2.4l ecotech engine had the same issues from the research i conducted. The mechanic i talked to said that this was a known issue due to a defect in the piston rings allowing oil to reach the combustion chamber. Sometimes even the fumes come into the car and they are pretty harsh to breathe in.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving at an unknown speed, the engine lost power, stalled, and the steering seized without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the camshaft failed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body failed. The vehicle was repaired and the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000. ..updated 08/23/16

While driving on the highway at 70 miles per hour, car completely shut off. Loss of engine power and car would not restart. Prior to that, entine car shook violently right before the shut down. I was driving on an interstate with light traffic. Car is extremely unsafe.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle seized at a red light and never restarted. The contact stated that the timing chain failed and disrupted the engine, leaving the vehicle inoperable. There were no warning indicators illuminated before or after the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was visually diagnosed. The visual diagnosis determined that the failure part was the timing chain. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 69,926.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and an abnormal noise was heard coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to liberty buick gmc (9028 e independence blvd, matthews, nc 28105, (704) 708-8000) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. On another occasion, while driving, there was an abnormal noise coming from the engine. It was discovered that the engine oil was below the low marker on the dipstick. The contact was informed that there was no oil leak evident; however, there was an excessive amount of oil consumption. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided case number: [xxx]. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000. Consumer stated transmission and engine failed.parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Only 64,000 miles on the car and the engine light came on and the timing chain was bad.i believe it is a defective timing chain

Our cur completely shut off all power lights engine everything doing 80 mph on interstate 84 in idaho. A semi seen it happen jumped in the middle of both lanes to block traffic so we could get to the shoulder.in a no cell phone area 13 we disconnected the battery and had to shift srive it in limp mode. No alert lights came on we took it yo a certified dealer to find the pistons, timing chain and other things are ntoken gm/ buick was notified they decided to decline assistance because we are out of warranty 93k miles on the car and over 5,000$ in repair and possibly another 2100$ to repair the cadilitic converter. We were in a no cell service area and had to drive in the shoulder now the headlights won't turn on at all either.the car never alert us it just shut off the dealer says the oil was very low again no oil light came on with that yhe dealer says therecould be a bcm/ecm communication issue costing 1200.00 to 2500.00 to fix. They can't assess completely until the piston/ timing belt issue is fixed but the car is not communicating the steering is now super tight and the only yhing it says now is service stibilatrac and the mechanic didn't even bring that up

Burning oil on a 2.4l equinox engine

Upon bringing my car in for a p10011 code (the check engine light came on), the dealership stated that the timing chain on my car was stretched and needed to be replaced. It cost over $1900 to fix.

Engine timing failure due to faulty chain tensioner at 81000 miles (2/15/2020) engine consumes excessive amounts of oil between changes

I previously reported an issue in 2016 with engine failure due to timing chain failure where i was driving down the highway in heavy traffic and immediately there was engine failure, loss of power and was put in a very unsafe position. After i coasted my car, with 4 ways on, to the side of the road i called a tow truck which towed me to the nearest gm dealer which was victory chevy in milan michigan. After some diagnosis they informed me of the complete timing chain failure and internal engine damage. At the time i had 111k miles on the odometer. I was informed the car needed a complete rebuild and i voiced my displeasure about the failure so soon after the expiration of the 100k warranty. What gm did agree to was to split the repair 60-40 where i was responsible for approx. $2700 of the rebuild. At that time i complained about the rebuild versus a new motor and was told that was all they would offer me. I again complained that if it's rebuilt i will be back in with the same issue in the future so here i am less than 18 months after a rebuilt motor i take the car to the dealer for a loud noise on startup and smell of an oil leak. The dealer now tells me the timing chain needs replaced again along with a top end rebuild costing approx. $4500 although there is no drivability issue with the car. So i called gm customer center and spoke with the supposed "head service advisor" and was told by him that since the car is out of the 12 month warranty they would offer no assistance. I informed him i have been a gm customer since 2003 and this is the absolute worst vehicle i have ever owned. The timing chain is a known issue in these cars for failure and not just with higher mileage engines. Why is gm not issuing a campaign for these vehicles and their motors? i have replaced so many things on this car i am going to file a complaint with the bbb and pursue lemon law.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced engine failure while reversing out of a parking space. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was then towed to la fontaine buick gmc of ann arbor (500 auto mall dr., ann arbor , mi 48103, (734)7079368) where it was diagnosed that the timing chain fractured and caused the engine to seize. In addition, metal shavings were found in the engine. The vin was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

Unexplained engine stalling; rough idle and noise on start.vehicle sputters

The morning of dec 8 i was pulling into my job parking lot and the engine shut off 3 times. After work on the way home i noted a rough idle. I pulled into a gas station and it shut off again. I was about 100 yards from my gm dealership so i parked it there for service/repair the next day. I was called on the 10th and was told it was the timing chain and this repair would cost approx. $2200. I was then told on the 12th that the timing sprocket and cam shaft would have to be replaced adding cost to this poor material or poor workmanship. I remember a recall on a engine earlier in the year that i thought the dealership repaired which i believe was something involved with the cam shaft but i know they had to go into the engine. This shutting off while the vehicle is in operation really scared me and the cam shaft, cam shaft sprocket and timing chain should have been made of a better material, a stronger material. $2000 spent earlier plus the $2200 estimated no i could have purchased an engine for $4200. My vehicle is currently at burns chevrolet being repaired since dec 8th. This is a real safety issue that should be looked into.

Back on february 9th, 2019 i had an oil change and received whatever premium-ultra synthetic oil they had. This oil was rated up to 9,000 miles i believe. As i was heading in for an oil change on the morning of june 2nd, 2019 the car suddenly locked with brakes and steering becoming extremely stiff. I was driving when this occurred but had been coming to a stop with nobody in front of me luckily. Had this happened 15 seconds before as i was going 55mph around a curve, i would have undoubtedly killed myself or someone else. There was no ability to steer the car or brake.when i took the car to the dealership they told me the engine would require a complete rebuild, costing seven-thousand-dollars. They claim it was caused by a "lack of maintenance (ie. Not keeping up on oil changes)". The lack of oil then caused the timing chain to break, which then further damaged intake valves, head gaskets, balance chain, etc. Now i know february 9th and june 2nd is nearly four months apart, however, in that time i had put less than 2,000 miles on the car. How was i supposed to know that my ultra synthetic oil which is rated for four times longer, in a car that in that time had been reported to burn oil, and doesn't have an oil level sensor, would burn oil? in my mind this isn't a lack of maintenance, it is gm's lack of communication. Gm never informed me of any issues regarding oil burn, yet they supposedly require technicians to roll back the sensor because of this very issue. I should also mention that miraculously the car wasn't giving any outward signs of distress including extra noise, loud idle, handling differences or anything. While my situation ended with no injuries, after reading about this issue i am one of the lucky ones. This issue is not only unjustly draining bank accounts but also costing lives.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving various speeds, the vehicle made a loud whining noise. The vehicle was taken to copple chevrolet gmc in louisville, nebraska where it was diagnosed that the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the timing chain failed and was also replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000. The vin was not available.

Engines started to putter. Then engine power reduced came on. Car died then the service stabilitrak came on

2011 buick regal purchased from show room floor in 2011. Presentative maintenance up to date.no warning lights. Something terribly wrong with transmission, engine.while driving on city street approaching interstate at 25 mph, car starting stalling, puttering, losing power. Pulled over, put in park.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving approximately 25 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated intermittently, which caused the vehicle to go into limp mode. The contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to accelerate more than 1 mph. In addition, the vehicle needed to be restarted in order to operate. The contact called vision buick gmc (800 panorama trail s, rochester, ny 14625, (585) 200-3905) and informed them of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle hesitated and stalled without warning. The dealer diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000. The vin was not available.

The vehicle lost most of its power, the engine light came on and it would not even accelerate to 40 mph. This is a very dangerous situation on the highway where the minimum speed is 45 mph. Apparently, this is not uncommon with that engine. I am now paying $611 to replace the throttle body that apparently is the source of the problem on this essentially new car.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving 40 mph, there was a misfire in the engine and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the timing chain fractured and caused severe damage to the engine. The vehicle was then towed to countryside gm (n8167 kellom rd, beaver dam, wi 53916, (920) 885-3301) to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,351.

Piston ring failurecausing massive oil consumptiontiming chain tensioner failure

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal.while driving approximately 45 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing change failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,000.

The car stalls when shifting gears. At first, it was only when i was stopped then began to drive and the car was shifting into first gear. However, it recently got worse. I was recently on the freeway and when i reached 60 mph, it stalled, began to shake, and decrease in speed. It wouldn't let me accelerate. Once i got off the freeway and reached under 10 mph, it began to work again but still stalled every time it shifted gears. I've taken it to the dealer and they say they can't find anything wrong with it.

Vehicle has 69,579 miles. While turning onto side street off of main road, engine shut off causing loss of power steering and brakes.vehicle was able to be restarted after a minute and driven home.vehicle was taken to lester glenn buick dealership for this problem .the dealership was "unable to duplicate the problem" and there were no codes showing a problem. I was told that the issue was that the vehicle was 100 miles overdue for and oil change and was a little low on oil.when i questioned this i was told it is a "safety feature" to protect the engine from damage because of low oil.i asked if it was a "safety feature" than why was my son able to restart the vehicle within a minute.still have not received an answer. I have made numerous calls to g m about this issue but all i have gotten were two calls to my house phone when i was not home when i specifically left my cell phone number to be called.i have called an additional three times and left a message for a senior adjuster to call me back and still have not received a response.as luck would have it, i own two 2011 buick regals and my daughters car is experiencing the same issues, but that will be listed as another complaint .appears to be multiple issues on the internet with this same concern, but nothing seems to get done

Whenever i am driving my vehicle for an hour it starts to stall or sputter in traffic and the engine dies completely. It will restart but still continues to hesitate when accelerating. I've taken it to a mechanic and no error codes pop up when this happens so they do not know the cause or how to fix the issue.

Timing chain tensioner failed at just less than 75,000 miles. I've been told by 2 different mechanics that it would be easier to replace the entire engine than get the pieces out of the engine.

I have had to turn my vehicle into the shop on multiple occasions regarding my vehicle breaking down in the middle of traffic, the card basically runs like a toy!within months of purchasing this precertified one owner vehicle, the oil light supposedly was recalled and did not function-car had absolutely no oil. I continued to received buick handled maintenance and still experiencing issues. The vehicle still looses oil within range of not needing a change. The card jerks and when approaching stops and will completely cut off. I recently got my car back after two weeks of repairs replacing of engine pistons, belts so on and so forth however today after coming to a stop at a stop light, the car began to jerk and shake and the died. The light turn green and i was in front of a school bus!i cannot be on the road and my car cutting off in traffic after multiple repairs! this was my first car purchase and i am more than disappointed. Once again i have to take my car in to see why the issue continues.

Had to replace engine because of detergent in recommended engine oil.with the yearly oil change and high detergent levels it eats away at seals and gasket.

The oil consumption in the car is horrible, i have to atleat add oil in my car about 5 time in between oil changes, and my oil changes are done regularly, ive also have the issue of my oil and gas mixing, i did take it to the shop once and they fixed a recall that was involved with high pressure fuel pump, but im guessing they didnt fix the issue once that repair was done like they said it would.

I was driving down the highway, 78 mph in rush hour and my engine died/no power, no brakes, no steering.heavy traffic, no control.i made it toshoulder, very difficult to ease the vehicle over. No warning lights. Engine just died.no control.once the car stopped after rolling at a high speed, i tried to start my engine.engine started, and able to proceed.next day, similar incident happenedi was turning a corner.the same thing happened, i was going a lower speed.i hadless control after the engine died,no warning lights etc.very difficult to maneuver. I turned the key and it started.i took it to the dealer. They said needed oil change, and 3 quarts low on oil. And i was 1000 miles over .they weresending me home with oil change,i pleaded to look intofurther asi was in fear of my life driving. The service sheetindicated the car had multiple cam actuator system failure codes. The service manager saidlow on oil, and was safe,he went to get the car.the car stalled on him ...no power, no alarms,no service engine soon lights, etc. Eventually, i convinced them to give me a vehicle to drive after initial denial. 1 week later, they have found nothing wrong. Said exhaust cam shaft actuator was broken. They replaced the timing chains, the actuators, and selenoids.still no explanationwhy my car died driving down the road at 78mph they saidsometimes it takes 3 failures or key cycles before an alarm will be set. Not sure if they truly found the problem so they have asked to drive my car for several days to see if the default continues to show up. I am very concerned that an engine should stop while traveling at high speeds 3 times before an alarm system or warning would ever be given to the driver that there may be a problem. I am still very concerned and am not sure if i should be driving this vehicle or not for fear of my life.

Motor has very high oil consumption. Going through 5 quarts or more before system indicates the vehicle needs a oil change. Engine has a loud rattling noise at start up.

Engine noise at start-up and idle; excessive oil consumption

Engine and brakes seized up on me without warning while driving in a parking lot, low speed. Took it in to my mechanic and found out there was an oil consumption issue, even though i was 2k miles under the next change i was also 2 qts low.

Vehicle still stalling; replaced belt and tensioner 3rd time since aug 2014

2011 buick regal. Consumer states on five separate occasions the engine stalled *tgwthe consumer stated when the vehicle stalled, it was difficult to restart.the last two instances, the vehicle had to be towed.the dealer reprogrammed the ecm and replaced the fuel pump on july 22, 2011. However, the stalling continued well into the next month.

Timing chain and water pump chain and all the other good things that go along with this needed to be replace on my 2011 buick regal 2.4l engine just under 25000 milesthis should not have happened at this mileage. What if this decided to go while i was on the highway..this seems like a problem that needs to be investigated.

When i came to a stop the car stalled.returned to dealer and they could not find any problem.on 5/29/13 i was making a u turn and when the turn was completed the car stalled again this was on a busy highway.car is in shop now and again, they can't duplicate problem.this is extremely dangerous.

I purchased 2011 buick regal 2011 cxl turbo #7.since then, i have experienced serious difficulties with am/fm/xm stereo system with navigation and 40gb hard drive it is problematic, and it was challenging to get adequate directions, because of its poor quality of map data. A trip taken twice a year i felt a build in navigation system would be more secure and accurate.road network attributes are contained in the map database the map database did not include data for old constructed areas or long term point of interest.this is a safety issues for the driver and occupants.i was given wrong directions and directed to far location when a closer location was available since updated information was not included.

Since the 17th of april each time i start the car the navigation screen puts a warning about having the screen on while driving.you must push #6 button to clear the message.before this it did this maybe once in 3 months. I went to the buick garage and they said it doesn't happen when you don't have navigation on. I'm to start the car this way.if you think this is the fix for this let me know[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the driver side headlamp did not function properly. The contact noticed that the headlamp bulb socket was melted. In addition, the driver side low beam headlamp did not function at all. The dealer diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

Faulty headlamp allowing water to accumulate and short out ballast. This is a $1300 part that should not be going out like this.

'takata recall' low beam headlights stopped working. But high beam works just fine.

Police stopped me due to missing passenger headlamp. As i was replacing said headlight, upon closer inspection, i noticed that the bulb wire harness were burnt black. The smell of burning was detected.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the front driver side turn signal, brake, and hazard lighting failed to illuminate sporadically. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician was unable to find a failure. The light bulbs were changed, but the failures persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 95,115.

Passengers side head light and wire connected to it melted there was smoke in the headlight housing

Headlight keeps burning out. It has been replaced 5 times also driver seat heating works for 1 min and turns off

I have had the driver's side hid headlight ballast replaced 3 times in 9 months due to moisture in the headlight assembly.

The headlight assembly seal is allowing moisture to accumulate in the headlights causing dimming & low lighting, the headlights to go on & off periodically without warning and causing the assembly wiring to melt, causing more damage and electrical problems. While my husband driving to work in the early morning on the highway, the headlights suddenly stopped working and had to use his high beam lights and only one headlight working. This happened approximately 6 am on 1/6/2020.gm has been aware of the problem since 2010 on several of their gm vehicles. No recall has been issued.

My cruise control and brake lights stopped working after having a recall fixed on my2011 buick regal.the recalls that were fixed were an oil life monitor control module and a turn signal control module.after having this fixed, my cruise control and brake lights no longer are working. I was pulled over by a policeman, otherwise i did not know they were not working while i was driving.the brakes will come on once i depress the brake pedal all the way to the floor of the car, but not while driving in normal conditions.i could have been rear ended several times, as there was no indication that the lights were not working.

I am seeing multiple complaints online about the headlight assemblies here:http://www.carproblemzoo.com/buick/regal/headlights-problems.phpon my buick, i am having the same exact issues. For some reason, there is condensation/water entering the headlight housing and causing the ballast and bulb to fail. Buick wanted $1,215.00 to repair the headlights. One person in the site above said the following: "this is due to a faulty seal between the outer and inner shell assembly.this is a huge safety issue, as the vehicle may loose all headlights and cause the driver to crash. The assemblies are very costly to replace and the issue is very common on all 2011 though 2017 regal and gs models with hid. This is dangerous and should be fixed by the manufacturer. New assemblies will result in the same safety issue in a short amount of time. This could be a design flaw or a manufacturing flaw. . . Regardless, it is very dangerous!." i am in a major predicament. I can't afford the new headlights, and even if i could, this person is stating that they are likely to fail again. Also, the way this buick is designed, i was able to replace the passenger side headlight with a more inexpensive bulb. I could not easily replace the driver side headlight, or another bulb that is out. The design is a safety risk as i can't afford the dealers's repair costs and cannot do it myself. The washer fluid bottle is in the way and there was no way to easily remove the headlight. This puts me at risk for a crash and also a ticket from police. Buick should fix this for all regals with this issue - especially since their vehicles are so incredibly expensive anyway..

We have lost our instrument lights many times while traveling and at many different speeds, accompanied by the smell of hot electrical wiring, i am 88yrs. Of age and my wife 83yrs. Of age and when this happens to her or myself when traveling it is a huge safety concern, we are afraid it my cause the loss of our lives as a result. We have contacted gm about this. Their representative did not express concern, and more or less stated if we did not feel comfortable driving we should park it and not drive it. We live on fixed income we have nothing else to drive and cannot get gm to fix our vehicle.the car is always in motion when this happens and happens at all different speeds, highways, and city streets. With no way to judge your speed. Gm safety recall #30710- wiring harness. Gms answer is incomplete: remedy not yet available. Please help!!!!!!!this problem happens with regularityand we are concerned the car will catch fire someday.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the driver side tail light failed to illuminate. The vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 12v484000 (exterior lighting), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that the rear driver side turning signal failed soon after the recall repair was performed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear tail light bulb needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of failure. The failure mileage was 50,419.

I have had the headlights replaced twice. Where you plug in the headlight (low beam), it melts and the headlight will not work anymore.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated thatthere was condensation in the headlights and they failed to operate without warning. The vehicle was taken to gilbert chevrolet (3550 us-441, okeechobee, fl 34974, (863) 261-8947) where it was diagnosed that moisture was in the headlights and theheadlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 95303514701. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 46,579.

The passenger headlight keeps melting the harness the light bulb goes into. I've replaced it 2 and this will be the 3rd time.noticed when i was pulled over for a fix it ticket. Second time i noticed the lights were uneven and the 3rd time it was pointed out by a toll booth attendant

The passenger side light bulb melted. Bulb can notbe replaced because housing is damaged.contact the dealer and i was told this is not covered by any recalls.i would be responsible for any parts.this is definitely a factory defect and car is not safe to drive.i have ordered part and i'm still waiting for replacement from dealer.

Both sealed headlight assemblies have failed and now have condensation inside of them. The lights are still functional but i am afraid of a short circuit. The dealer wanted $1,000 per headlight assembly to replace. This vehicle still has under 50,000 miles on it. It happened while it was just sitting there, but i do drive through rain.

Condensation started in driver's side headlight to the point when light bulbs short out and are ruined as soon as they are put in. The water entering the electrical system is dangerous.

I own a 2011 buick regal with the vehicle option "tt6" hid headlamps.both headlamps are currently inoperative. What i have discovered is that the front headlamp assemblies have condensation inside of them.this condensation in turn has caused not only the hid bulbs to fail but also has created corrosion on the connectors which attach to the ballast module inside each lamp.this has rendered each headlamp completely useless because the connectors inside of the them cannot be removed as it is a sealed unit.the ballast and the bulb can be replaced but the wiring/terminals cannot be.additionally, even if those components could be changed and the lights miraculously came back to life, they would fail again in short order due to the condensation issue.simply buying a new headlamp assembly is the obvious fix but each unit costs < $1,250 + tax and installation, which by the way, involves removal of the entire front fascia...another $300.therefore having to spend around $3,000 to get ones headlamps to function is the only recourse owners of these vehicles.i feel that this is a very dangerous situation because the lamps can just blink off without any notification while driving with the only fix being obscenely expensive.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving at various speeds, the low beam head lamps functioned intermittently. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the bulbs, connectors, and wires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My wife's xenon hid headlight assemblies began leaking during moderate to heavy rain.the rain shorted out the ballast and the headlight went black. I replaced it and soon after, the other side did the same. The assemblies got worse and began fogging up during weather changes. Then, more ballasts went out. I went to gm and they said the assemblies are out of production and no longer available! this is not an old car. I found nos units on ebay and others, as well as used units from wrecked cars, but these were from $300 to $1,500 for each side! i checked online and noted that this appears to be a huge issue that has haunted many folks and gm is not addressing it. I had to order another ballast today, so i'm ordering two. I also found so-called aftermarket units in china, but during inspection i found they were actually made at hella specifications for gm in slovinia, but being sold as aftermarket in china for $700 a pair. This seems to be a major issue and if gm no longer supports a newer car, one is forced to by another car. I am out quite a bit of money with no help from gm /buick whatsoever. How can this be allowed? this issue began in 2015!

The headlamps blow out and upon examining thebulb housing the wiring and the casing that the replacement bulbs is suppose to be inserted in is burned off. The wiring and the casing is gone. The recall is 12v484 is not addressing the concern that i have of the headlamps clearly failing to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standards by burning out and not giving any indicators on the information panel that the headlamps are blown. The casing is so hot when attempting to replace the bulb i burned my hand and my vehicle still does not have headlamps. This should not be something that i should have to pay to repair. This should be covered at gm expense.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that after a rainstorm, moisture entered the driverā€™s side headlight housing causing the bulb to blow. The contact discovered nhtsa campaign number: 12v484000 (exterior lighting) which he linked to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the tail lights failed to illuminate. The brake pedal had to be depressed to the floorboard in order for the tail lights to illuminate. The dealer diagnosed that the tail light sensor failed. The tail light sensor and brake pads were replaced; however, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Engines started to putter. Then engine power reduced came on. Car died then the service stabilitrak came on

Vehicle continually stalled and died at red lights, stop signs, or when slowing for turning vehicles.took vehicle to dealership and was told that it was not serious and was scheduled for repair 2 days later.diagnosed as camshaft indicator.current recall outstanding on some 2011 buick regals but not all.however, based on research on buick service website, it appears to be widespread problem and was dangerous considering my vehicle died at an exit ramp leaving the interstate.

When i filled the buick regal with gas and at speeds 45mph and up, you start to smell gas fumes inside the vehicle. It's cold out so the windows are up and on two occasions, after i got to work i was dizzy and light-headed and my heart was pounding. Two co-workers wouldn't leave my side until my head cleared. They thought i was having a heart attack or something, but my heart and head finally cleared. I'm scared to drive it and i work an hour away and may cause an accident.

I noticed that the car was resisting acceleration a little bit, have 48,545 miles on it and took it for oil change with fuel injection cleaner and full tank of good gas. Got on highway and the acceleration died completely and no gas was getting through, like flooring it in neutral. Pulled off the side and it restarted but continued dying along the way if i try to accelerate.

On new 2011 buick regal cxl sd - within 2 days of purchase (70 miles) - while parked, engine on or off, front passenger door could not be opened from the inside.could only be opened from the outside.door handle latch was not properly closing.the other 2 passenger doors were beginning to show the same symptoms.dealer ordered 3 new handle sets to be installed o/a jan 8,2011.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the parking brake independently engaged, which resulted in the vehicle stopping or slowing down while driving at any speed. The parking brake light illuminated. The failure occurred ten times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the electric parking brake was in what the contact believed to be an unsafe position on the console. The contact stated that if the lever was inadvertently hit, it would cause the vehicle to come to a halt while driving at any speed. The contact believed the failure to be a design flaw that needed to be addressed. In addition, the contact stated that when the electric parking brake was engaged, the vehicle would abruptly stop without the illumination of the brake lights. The manufacture was not contacted in regards to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 2,000.updated 07/21/11the consumer stated the vehicle has en electric parking brake which can be engergized by lifting a switch on the middle console. It is used when parking on an incline. There is no normal foot or hand lever for emergency braking. The owners manual stated the vehicle has a brake assist feature designed to assist the driver in an emergency situation and it is not epb. The problem is that the epb can be activated while driving in any gear position.the consumer stated if that were to happen, it would bring the vehicle to an abrupt stop sending everyone in the vehicle toward the windshield.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the gear lever was shifted into the reverse and drive positions, but the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the transmission was rebuilt. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.updated 08/30/16*lj

Transmission failure after 44,820 miles. Required reconditioned transmission and torque converter with total cost of repair of $3,976.63.in motion on city streets and highway- delays reverse. Hard shifting. Slow response driving.

Timing chain and water pump chain and all the other good things that go along with this needed to be replace on my 2011 buick regal 2.4l engine just under 25000 milesthis should not have happened at this mileage. What if this decided to go while i was on the highway..this seems like a problem that needs to be investigated.

When i shift the car from park to drive it does a very hard jerk. And vehicle has no codes on dash or anything

Vehicle had 45000 mile's when i bought it in oct 2017 and now has 47500 miles. Car had no problems and drove and looks like new. Last week (09/07/18) it started bucking going down road at @30mph, then would jump into gears at stop. Then did not want to go into reverse. Would not shift out in forward gears. Manual would not work either. We were stuck in traffic at busy intersection...all in about 10 minutes time. Limped to aamco transmissions and left it...diagnosis was needed to rebuild transmission..cost;3400.00 have read this has happened on other 2011 models. Should have been a recall..45000 miles is still like new and this should have and could have been avoided..i was lucky to have not been in an accident. Was just driving normal in city when happened.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While the vehicle was idling at a red light, it failed to accelerate without warning. The contact had to push the vehicle off the road. The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph when the vehicle became resistant to acceleration attempts. The contact also stated that the vehicle would downshift independently despite the brake pedal not being depressed. The failure was recurring. In addition, the electrical system would intermittently fail. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4000.

Whenever i am driving my vehicle for an hour it starts to stall or sputter in traffic and the engine dies completely. It will restart but still continues to hesitate when accelerating. I've taken it to a mechanic and no error codes pop up when this happens so they do not know the cause or how to fix the issue.

Bought my car from a reputable dealer. The car was a fun toy for me to drive. My 2011 regal apparently had has a transmission problem. The shop says needs a new transmission because everything is sealed and can't be serviced. Anyway multiple times i'm on the road and in town and the car drives okay, but as soon as merge onto the high way the car stalls.heres what happensas soon as i merge onto the high way the rpm's go way up. The trassmission is stalled.the car won't accelerate. Multiple times i've almost had an accident. The instrument cluster has "d" flashing and engine light is off. I pull over the side of the road turn the car off, and then restart the car and then it works again. This sucks. It honestly a 50 50 chance the car transmission will stall when i merge onto the highway. I feel this is a recall issue. Manny people have complained about this recently around the same millage of mine. Around 100,000 miles. Only problem is buick takes blame on the same problem with the enclave, but not the regal. What a shame.

2011 buick regal purchased from show room floor in 2011. Presentative maintenance up to date.no warning lights. Something terribly wrong with transmission, engine.while driving on city street approaching interstate at 25 mph, car starting stalling, puttering, losing power. Pulled over, put in park.

I was sitting in my brothers yard with my car crunk up and when i began to put it in reverse it started making a strange noise. So when i put it back in park the noise stopped. So i put the car back in reverse so i could back out his driveway, but this time the car wound not move. So i put it in drive to see would it go forward and it did for maybe a hundred feet but it would not switch out of second gear.

My vehicle issue is that the exhaust valves were bent due to a valve cover bolt that released and damaged head valves and head on motor. This is a factory issue due to the bolt releasing. I am being held responsible for vehicle and only owned vehicle for less then 2 years. For replacement head cost and or replacing the motor itself is a costly situation.my vehicle was parked in city limits and when attempting to start, would try to turn over but just keep spinning without full crank. I shouldn't be replacing the motor on vehicle that is still well under 100,000 miles and no major issue prior.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the vehicle's shifter was not functional. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle's was towed to a local buick dealer where the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

2011 buick regal has unintended acceleration as the foot is transferred from accelerator to brake when approaching stop light.gm could not fix problem.had to trade vehicle in for new car.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal.the contact stated that while driving at low speeds, the vehicle would jerk violently.the manufacturer was contacted but referred the contact to the dealer.the dealer diagnosed no failure with the vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was unavailable and the current mileage was 2,121.

I'm writing about a concern i have regarding the transmission design for the 2011 buick regal. I purchased my car from a reputable dealer with a clean car fax in 2014. The car had roughly 45,000 miles on it, and every bit of maintenance has been performed at the appropriate intervals since i purchased it 3.5 years ago. During the time that i've owned my car, i have put an additional 30,000 miles on it total. I haven't driven it on the highway since july of 2015, and my trips are shorter than 4 miles one way. On my way to work a couple of weeks ago, my transmission completely failed without warning. I was almost broadsided twice, turning left around a roundabout. I was driving roughly 30mph, and without warning it lost power. The "check engine" light flashed, and the car stalled trying to switch gears as i accelerated. When i went to put it in park, it will slide into reverse but doesn't move in any direction. I was forced to push it uphill in a parking garage, so my tow truck driver could come and tow it to my mechanic.i had it towed to my mechanic, who informed me that this design has a fatal design flaw causing the transmission to fail. The enclave has been recalled as well for exact same failure. I then got a second opinion from his transmission expert, who was dumbfounded i was needing to replace a transmission in a car that has accumulated 30,000 miles total in 4 years time. Both my mechanic and my transmission expert informed me that the enclave had been recalled for the exact same failure, and they personally knew of buick regal owners who had their transmissions fail without warning. If i had been going faster than 30mph, or been on the highway, it could have been fatal! i spoke with my attorney, who advised me to file complaints with buick, the ftc, and the nhtsa.

While merging onto a busy highway, the transmission would not shift into 3rd gear. It lost power and almost caused an accident. There was no previous warning of a transmission problem. The traffic was heavy because of the holiday weekend. With little room to merge, i attempted to speed up with traffic when it failed. I was forced to pull over and limp along the side of the road in second gear until the next exit with cars flying by at 70-80 mph. This was caused by the "wave plate" in the transmission coming apart according to the transmission shop. They also said this is a very common problem with these transmissions. Buick knows about this problem as listed in 2007-2009 recalls but does not do anything for 2011 models. There is also a pia bulletin pi0780a for this exact same problem and model year. Gm refused to take responsibility for it. There are several forums with the same problem. It it going to get someone killed.

When driving to the grocery store one day the car wasn't accelerating properly. When o leave the store the car won't move when in reverse, the engine will rev but no movement. Got the diagnostic done and with less then 59000 miles my transmission failed.

Check engine light illuminated at 82000 miles. Using the scan tool from a local auto parts store, i observed that the obd-ii codes were p0016 and p0017. Around the time that the check engine light came on, i noticed that the shifting done by the automatic transmission seemed jerky, and that the engine was noisier than usual even when idling. Generally the miles on this car accumulate from equal time spent on both city and highway conditions. The engine rough idle and choppy gear shifting were apparent during both types of conditions.the check engine light remained lit for five days before i took it to the dealership for diagnosis. Dealership diagnosis said "jumped timing chain front guide came apart p0011 p0014 p0016 p0017 set in system." the dealership replaced the timing chain using a time chain kit, replaced the intake and exhaust actuators, and replaced the oil and filter. Three days have passed since the repair was made, and the engine seems to be operating normally.

The dealer replaced the computer twice and was also looking at a possible transmission failure, but the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was left with the dealer for more extensive inspection. The failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 17,000.updated 7/12/12 the consumer stated while driving, all of a sudden the vehicle started to slow down. Brake pedal stuck partially depressed and brakes not fully releasing. Started immediately upon vehicle ignition after the vehicle had been parked in the sun on a hot day. Car becomes unsafe to drive as either you accelerate with brakes engaged or have to manually lift the brake pedal to the correct position to release the brakes after every instance of using the brake. Seems to be triggered by hot weather and, therefore, high car temperature. Same issue occurred in 2018 but was not recognized at the time and could not be recreated or diagnosed by a dealer service center.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While decelerating from 60 mph, the brake pedal failed to engage properly. The contact continued to depress the brake pedal with force, but was unable to have the brake pedal released from the floorboard. The vehicle continued to move and the contact had to reach down and release the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The failure was experienced several times. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake system needed to be replaced. The brake pads were repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed by a dealer. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 127,000.

The vehicle exhibited what appeared to be sticking brakes after driving in extreme heat and humidity in southwest florida.i have taken the vehicle to family auto service cenber, 4570 samuel st., sarasota, fl 34233, phone: (941) 925-4889.i was advised by ray, the owner, that the brake pedal assembly was in danger of becoming unttached thereby making braking impossible and an obvious safety hazard.he stated that it was covered in tsb 5692d.total loss of the abilibty to stop the car is possible with this defect.

When driving the vehicle, the brakes become so hot that the rotors will glow red. This would normally be a hung up calliper but it seems to move to different sides of the car and different wheels. Upon letting the vehicle sit for long periods of time, the rotor will cool off. The only problem is that you never know when or where the rotors will get that hot and the cars driving and braking are adversely affected.

The brakes on my 2011 buick regal never felt right. The brake pedal would go down almost to the floor. I complained to the dealer, they tested it and said that was the way the brakes are on all the regals. Then in the very hot summer of 2012 the brake pedal started to stick to floor when i started the vehicle. I had to use my foot to get under the pedal to pop it up. I went back to the dealer and told them, and at first, they told me they never heard of any recall or problems with other regals or other vehicles. I told them this is a serious safety problem and after i started to ask others in the service department, the service manager said he did have other regals with that problem as well as other buick models. They gave me a loaner and ordered a new brake assemble. Following the repair two weeks later i noticed on the receipt "pic#5692a addressing concern, replaced brake pedal and retainers per pic#5692a." this problem should have been a recall.

After my vehicle had been sitting for a few days, and once started back up the brake pedal wouldn't retract back, i would have to pull the brake pedal up with my foot.

Brake pedal stay down and does not release causing heating and reduce acceleration. It is a safety issue during fast moving and can't predict the car movement. Brake and accelerator pedal assembly not design to work in a wide range of temperatures. It is serious danger in the highway driving.

A lot of pressure is needed in order for the brake light to illuminate.the brake light only illuminates when at a complete stop but not when gradually attempting to slow down and stop. I have had my car at a repair shop and during the discussion i was told that i would have to add more pressure to the brakes for the brake light to illuminate. This could cause a serious accident because cars behind me are not allowed enough time to stop in an appropriate time. I have been stopped by the police on several occasions for this issue only to find out that more pressure is needed on the brakes for the light to illuminate.this is not good and makes me fear for my safety.

Engine and brakes seized up on me without warning while driving in a parking lot, low speed. Took it in to my mechanic and found out there was an oil consumption issue, even though i was 2k miles under the next change i was also 2 qts low.

I have been having a problem with the brakes sticking on my 2011 buick regal for a couple of years now.the problem occurs when the weather is hot, in the middle 80's and above and my car has been sitting closed up in the parking lot at work all day.i can recreate the problem by leaving it out of the garage in the sun for several hours.this is extremely dangerous and is getting worse.at first it caused a drag on the brakes and the pedal would not return fully to its proper position.i have to use my left foot to pull the pedal back up.now the pedal refuses to come back up at all when i take my foot off of it after starting the car and the brake warning light on the dash has come on a couple of times.i am extremely uncomfortable driving it like this.i have to pull the pedal back up every time i use the brakes on the way home.the brakes will return to 'normal' after about 15 minutes by which time i am almost home.

Six months after purchasing this used vehicle (with 29,000 miles on it) it completely stalled on the interstate while driving about 65 mph.it started braking by itself making it difficult to get to an emergency pull off area.this could have caused a serious accident considering it was rush hour.i took it to the dealership where they told me that the "throttle body" needed to be replaced.after getting it repaired the car drove fine until this year.at about 55,000 miles my car would start shaking very hard, brake pedal was almost to the floor, and it was almost impossible accelerate.i had to pull over and restart the car.this happened atleast 4 times.eventually my car stalled out on me again while driving on the interstate.once again this february the dealership blamed it on the "throttle body" and a powerline that was "completely corroded".after having them replaced, it drove ok for only a couple of months.then all of a sudden in june my car started shaking very badly while driving on the interstate and i noticed that my brake was stuck i put my foot under the brake pedal to pop it out and the car then drove ok.i took it to the dealership and go figure the "throttle body" needed to be replaced, brake master cylinder had to be replaced, brake vacuum booster needed service, brake fluid system had to be flushed, and the engine air filter needed to be replaced.i walked away with a $300 bill because the warranty only covered some of the problems.one week later while it was pouring rain i was driving on the interstate and my car completely stalled for the 3rd time.a tractor trailor almost lost control trying to prevent hitting me as i slid off the interstate.once i was safe i tried to restart it and the key broke off in the ignition.now the immobilizer module has to be replaced. Please note that i keep the maintenance up on this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal cxl. The contact stated that the front calipers overheated and grabbed, causing the brake not to release and the steering wheel to shake. The failure was experienced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times however, the dealer was unable duplicate the failure.the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,210 and the current mileage was 31,382.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. While driving 30 mph, the contact heard a loud noise in the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear driver side brake pad was completely eroded. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,300.

During periods of high heat (and only high heat) after being parked in the sun, when the vehicle is being driven at highway speeds, the brake pedal will stiffen and slow the car down. The steering wheel column will violently shake, as if the calipers are stuck. Once parked, all four wheels are hot and omits a burning smell. I have replaced two tires, 2 front calipers, front brake pads, all hoses and front rotors to no avail. Brake booster and master cylinder have been checked and are not the issue. All possible issues have been addressed within the last 8 weeks. Friday (05/14/21) the same issue happened again. I am at my wits end trying to resolve this issue.

Vehicle drove fine night before, when attempting to drive away the next morning it felt like the brakes were dragging, partially on, noted brake pedal in depressed position.checked parking brake to ensure it was not engaged, jacked up each tire one at a time and noted drag on all the wheels.left the vehicle as is for a couple hours then it would not start, acted like a dead battery.charged battery and had it checked under load at o'rielly'sauto parts under load..battery tested good.reinstalled battery and car started, no warning lights or messages.brake pedal had returned to upright position, test drove the car and it drove and braked fine.good pedal, no drag.about 2 weeks later on july 2,2014 brake pedal had dropped again on it's own and brakes were again dragging.battery and electrics were no issue this time.let car sit for 4 days while out of town and when returned brakes and pedal ok.drove immediately to buick dealer and provided them with service bulletin 338152 and nhtsa action number 10045319 which appears to cover the exact situation. I am waiting for a response.

The brake pedal does not return when interior temperatures are very high causing brakes to drag and potentially overheat and prematurely wear. It was first noticed when entering vehicle after being parked for a while.

Issue:brake pedal will stiffen and slow the car down. The steering wheel column will violently shake, as if the calipers are stuck. Once parked, wheels are hot and omits a burning smell.narrative: after the car is sitting in the sun, while driving in slow traffic the car is running rough, steering wheel starts shaking back and forth, the brakes start making noise when you stop. When accelerated there is grinding noise and dash light comes on. I pulled to the side of the road and turned off the car for five minutes, i start the car and it runs as normal. This was happening for a few weeks.i had the brakes replaced on 05/19/21 (i paid $737.66 for the brake job).i drove the car for a couple of weeks and brakes seized.i had to have the car towed back to shop (costing me $135.63) and the shop quoted brake pedal replacement.at that point i took the car to the everett, wa, clyde revord buick dealership and they replaced the modular for the brake (part # 22997391) and it was expenive because it required removing the dash board and a lot of labor time (costing me another $1347.31).i feel this is a safety hazaard as my brakes could have seized or a fire could have broke out while i was driving on the freeway.fortunately, the brakes seized in a parking lot.i did some research on this topic and see that it is a common flaw for this make and model and should be covered by the manufacturer as a recall before someone gets killed.

I am having a braking problem with my 2011 regal clx turbo. My brakes do not seem to be releasing when the car has been sitting outside and the temperature is high. Steering wheel shakes when applying the brakes and even when the brakes are released. The brake pedal and or parking brake does not disengaging on the buick regal 2011.

Engine and brakes seized up on me without warning while driving in a parking lot, low speed. Took it in to my mechanic and found out there was an oil consumption issue, even though i was 2k miles under the next change i was also 2 qts low.

Nothing wrong with the car until i had it serviced at mccurry-deck dealership with a noise in the steering.they worked on the steering gears, rack&pinion and just about everything in the steering of the car.all covered under a service contract.they put aftermarket parts on my car that they told the adviser at the service contact that there was warranty on parts and labor.when i picked up the car, it never was fixed.brought it back to the dealer and they looked and advised thatthe parts they put in don't have warranty on labor and i would have to pay labor.they never advised myself or the person who authorized the repair that the part they used didn't have warranty.they told the adviser it has a 24 month parts and labor warranty, which was a lie.now i have a car that i just spent 2072. To fix, broken because they did not honor what they told the service contract people the part had and i can not pay the labor to have it fixed.the dealership yesterday advised that they are going to fix my car.they are saying they told the adviser at the service contract representative that there was no warranty on the part, and the adviser at the service contract office advised that they would never would have authorized for that part to be used with no warranty.they had my car for 3 months and i still have a car that has a defective part.

The car doesnā€™t stay on park still will move forward or backwardsthe gear shift locks and does not movewhen i turn it makes a huge clack sound

The dealer cannot replicate the issue and will not do anything. They claim they've never heard of this issue before.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the instrument panel lights would reflect off of the windshield, obscuring the contacts visibility during night driving. The manufacturer advised that they would investigate further into the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 900. Chrome peeling off interior door handles resulting in sharp edges that cause deep cuts on my passengers fingers as well as mine.

Broken left side rear lateral toe link causing severe vehicle stability issue. Subsequent inspection of right side shows initial crack in same area.

The contact owns a 2011 buick regal. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light illuminated but indicated that the wrong tire was deflated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,030.

Brake pedal stay down and does not release causing heating and reduce acceleration. It is a safety issue during fast moving and can't predict the car movement. Brake and accelerator pedal assembly not design to work in a wide range of temperatures. It is serious danger in the highway driving.

I am having a braking problem with my 2011 regal clx turbo. My brakes do not seem to be releasing when the car has been sitting outside and the temperature is high. Driver's side floor mat does not stay in place when stepped on during exit/entry or during the course of driving. Mat can become lodged under brake pedal resulting in reduced braking ability in emergency situations. Contacted dealership, demonstrated problem, was told that no fix exists. Contacted corporate and explained danger, was told that mats are functioning as they should, no repair exists.i am a forensic accident reconstructionist and have seen the results of floormats becoming dislodged and hampering emergency braking attempts.

On 10/17/2018, i was leaving out of my workplace parking lot, while pulling on to the roadway. My sunroof exploded sending glass all over myself and inside of my vehicleand i immediately pulled over to see a gaping hole in my sunroof.

I was driving down the highway with my grandchildren.i was going 50 miles an hour and all of a sudden no warning the car like stalled and reduced engine power light came on . Car stalled and i started it but wouldn't let me go anywhere!it was dangerous and could have gotten us killed! i called gm to report it for a safety recall. I had to pay $120 for a tow. Took to buick dealer it was a screw that wasn't torque right on the timing chain. I had to pay $500 . I shouldn't had to pay anything. Now i no longer have the confidence in the name or my car. It runs rough and it starts terrible shaky. Only 50,000 miles on it.can you imagine being on a highway and your car stalls. Thank god no one was behind me.i have receiptsfrom tow company and the buick dealer but they would not give me the papers to my vehicle. That had exactly what they did. So on my receipt it says miscellaneous!they refused to give me anything else. My car has 54,000 some miles. My warranty expired in february 2016 only had the car a little over a year.for some reason i could not put the mileage below.

When i shift the car from park to drive it does a very hard jerk. And vehicle has no codes on dash or anything

The car doesnā€™t stay on park still will move forward or backwardsthe gear shift locks and does not movewhen i turn it makes a huge clack sound

I received a letter dated november 2015 that there could be a defect in my throttle position sensor.the symptoms were that the car ran rough, reduced power, engine light, etc.as soon as i received this letter, and while my car was still under factory warranty, i took the car in to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. There was but i continued to drive.i then made several other calls to gm until finally the car began to really show sings of a malfunction.it is stalling while driving down the road. It lunges forward with great force nearly sending my daughter and i through a store front window. Then it just started stalling every couple feet. All of the symptoms pointed to the throttle position sensor. I went to auto zone and o'reilleys and they both came up with the same codes p0420 and p0301 which leads to the throttle position sensor but the dealership said if a specific code didn't come up, then it wouldn't be covered. Of course they said the code didn't come up and that i would owe them for the diagnostic plus they told me it was lunging forward because of the oil level. Now i'm not a mechanic nor a brain surgeon but i certainly do know that low oil levels will not cause a car to lunge forward.i asked the manager at ballas if he was "just going to let me walk out of there with a dangerous vehicle" and he said "there is nothing i can do". I've seen other complaints on line with the same problem.i paid $144 for them to do absolutely nothing to my car.if it were low on oil, why didn't they just add oil. No, they performed a whole oil change which i just had done less than a month ago. They kept saying "well, you didn't bring it here, you went somewhere else" so? gm needs to recall this part and make their dealerships replace it no questions asked before someone gets killed.

Hi, i'm writing to file a safety complaint. The buick dealership will not perform the manufacturer safety recall free of charge.gm recall number: 2030710 nhtsa recall number: 16v517inoperative power seats, seat fires and seatheating module connector melting the dealership stated we would need to pay $700 to repair the passenger seat's inoperative motor before they could perform the recall.the other recall on this vehicle was not performed. Buick recall number: n120212nhtsa recall number: 12v484 turn signal lamp outage indicator not working how should i proceed? thank you!

There was a recall of the key and "fob" for 2010-2014 chevy camaros because the key could be bumped by someone's knee or some similar issue.the key of my 2011 buick regal broke, and i believe it has the same construction as the camaro.by broke i mean that the metal part the flips the key in and out the fob (when you press a button) actually broke, luckily while my wife was turning off the ignition.i therefore suspect that since the camaro and buick are built by gm and probably share the same key/fob design, i'm experiencing the same problem as the drivers of the recalled camaros, and the key/fob of the 2011 buick regals should also be recalled.

Traveling on freeway approx. 5:45am, about 72 degrees, sunroof ajar (tilted approx 1") but not fully opened.sudden loud explosion of sunroof glass.first thought projectile, possibly bullet.upon stopping and inspecting, no foreign object in car and very little glass.appears most of the glass exploded outward.in addition to shattered glass, stress cracks appear in remaining glass.
