Nature of problem: i purchased a lemon!!i purchased a 1993 buick park avenue on 2/21/98 for $12,800.00 (along with my husbands 1991 jeep wrangler) from stephens buick/jeep.at that same time i purchased an extended warranty for 48 month or 40,000 miles, classic jcx for $1,466.00.since the date of purchase, i have had nothing but problems with this car.here is a list of problems in date order:1) 2/23/98replaced brake rotors and brake pads (i dont think this was on all 4 wheels)3) 3/11/98repair tire leaking align front end (i had to persist on getting tired checked out)4) 7/06/98a/c inop replaced a/c core & evaporator (a/c didnt work at all)5) 6/24/99seal front exhaust pipe / replace (continued to complain about some leak in front of car)6) 10/8/99due to extreme rust on rocker panels and low mileage on car replace r/l rocker panels7) 10/28/99the antenna was inop after the replacement of rocker panels.replaced new power antenna8) 12/14/99replaced generator assembly / <dismount tire (leaky since 3/98), clean bead, install new valve stem/remount/balance>check charging system and replaced battery replaced fuel filter/fuel injected.9) 7/18/200complained about some clunking noise on right front end when especially turning sharp turns.*left from wheel brg replaced/noisy/cleaned and adjusted rear breaks.breaks still continue to squeak10) 3/12/2001 many problems brought to the attention of this dealer ship1. I have been the owner of this vehicle for three years . I purchased this vehicle from a dealership in richmond at that time it had 34k miles. I am not a person that drive fast or ride my brakes, so i find it very disturbing that something as major as the abs braking system should have to be replaced this soon. The problem i incurred was that the abs light would not go out even after following the instructions in the manuel. I then took it to be checked out as the book stated. Ihad to have the abs value assemble replaced and i feel that this shouldbe invistigated. The cost of the part alone was $578.95 this is a major part and i think they might should have had a recall on said part.

While exiting highway rear cradle bolts broke, and steering shaft separated fromgear.please describe details.
While driving 10 mphcradle boltsrusted. As a resultbolts broke, and the steering failed. No impact reported. All four back bolts failed and cradle droppedand steering failed.*tc
The washers for the cradle bolts rusted and broke off. The sub frame(cradle) then dropped and disconnected steering shaft. Luckily this happened leaving a parking lot @ 5mph.

Leaky transmission cooler lines warranty company denied to repair/replace5. Fan control module warranty company denied to repair/replace *due to the fact the transmission cooler lines and fan control module were not replaced, the car is totally inop.the engine over heats badly.
Brake pads and rotors replaced, rear brakes adjusted, however brakes still squeak, master cylinder has leaked twice.oil pan leaks, engine overheated, fan control module failure.air conditioner inoperable due to faulty core and evaporator.consumer states tires were bad, one tire experienced a leak, faulty valve stem, no specific tire information given.exhaust pipe failure, replaced fuel filter, intake manifold leaked and was replaced.battery and generator assembly replaced.steering gear failure.transmission cooling lines leaked.rocker panels rusted and were replaced.

Nature of problem: i purchased a lemon!!i purchased a 1993 buick park avenue on 2/21/98 for $12,800.00 (along with my husbands 1991 jeep wrangler) from stephens buick/jeep.at that same time i purchased an extended warranty for 48 month or 40,000 miles, classic jcx for $1,466.00.since the date of purchase, i have had nothing but problems with this car.here is a list of problems in date order:1) 2/23/98replaced brake rotors and brake pads (i dont think this was on all 4 wheels)3) 3/11/98repair tire leaking align front end (i had to persist on getting tired checked out)4) 7/06/98a/c inop replaced a/c core & evaporator (a/c didnt work at all)5) 6/24/99seal front exhaust pipe / replace (continued to complain about some leak in front of car)6) 10/8/99due to extreme rust on rocker panels and low mileage on car replace r/l rocker panels7) 10/28/99the antenna was inop after the replacement of rocker panels.replaced new power antenna8) 12/14/99replaced generator assembly / <dismount tire (leaky since 3/98), clean bead, install new valve stem/remount/balance>check charging system and replaced battery replaced fuel filter/fuel injected.9) 7/18/200complained about some clunking noise on right front end when especially turning sharp turns.*left from wheel brg replaced/noisy/cleaned and adjusted rear breaks.breaks still continue to squeak10) 3/12/2001 many problems brought to the attention of this dealer ship1. While drivingthrottle got stuck, causing the vehicle to suddenly/ unexpectedly accelerate. Brakes barely stoppedvehicle.while inspecting the vehicle, they unplugged the cruise control module and the engine returned to its idle. But when plugging in the cruise control module, the engine started to idle very high.took vehicle to dealer, found defective engine control module.repairs made at owner's cost.*ml
When using speed control, the vehicle coasts to a much higher speed downhill.got as high as 85 before i noticed the speed.the trans shifts down to a lower gear from aotomatic speed control but gets hung up and suffers severe shuddering . Also happened while in third gear,starting from a signal.possibly a torque conerter of computer chip failure.
Power windows/doors failed.
Rear window leaks.
Windshield mounting corroded body opening pinchweld, leaks and stress cracks may occur when mfg or replaced ie no paint or protection was ever put on ie quality safety ie there is no way rust can get t the mounting of the glass. In other words other may be driving and put brakes on only to find the windshield will go forward or backwards.dt
