I was driving east bound on interstate 20 approximately 7 miles west of sweetwater texas on july 11, 2014, when i was struck from behind by another vehicle (that left the scene.) the jarring caused me to lose power so i was unable to steer or to brake, which sent my car crashing into a guardrail; furthermore, the airbags did not deploy at all. I was uninjured, but i have checked the gm website and to date, that car (which was totaled) has not been included on their list of recalled vehicles, though it clearly had the same electrical problem that all the recalled gm vehicles have with the loss of power. I had not been directed to remove anything from my key ring, but all that i had on it was the key fob. Clearly, this vehicle should have been recalled. I was uninjured, but only because the car's chassis held up well and i had my seat belt on. Also, i have many pictures to demonstrate the lack of air bags.

The contact owned a 2010 buick lucerne. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact crashed the vehicle into the preceding vehicle. The frontal and driver side air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Passenger side airbag off even when passenger is in seat; seat buckle defective, not sending signal when buckled.

Initial incident happened while driving on a street. Door locks power cycled lock/unlock and then the car would cut off. No warning, no time to move to out of traffic orturn on hazzard. I use this vehicle to commute to and from work/childcare etc. I also travel of the freeway alot. That was the previous incident. The most recent incident occurred when the car would not turn over and upon doing research we found that it may be related to. Relay issue due to the fuze box being underneath the rear seat. Gm claims that because a bracket used to fasten the seat in place interferes with the fuze box and presses down on the fuze pump relay and causes it to burn out. After switching out the relays with the suggested lower profile relay, the car drove for a few hours and then when we parked we couldn't remove the key from the ignition. Upon lifting the back seat to disconnect the battery we smelled and heard the fuel pump relay burning and sizzling. Since the car was "serviced" by a buick dealer in june i'm assuming that it wasn't actually serviced the relay was just replaced and maybe a few other tweaks here and there but the issue was not resolved. I am very concerned about the reliability of this car. I have children that ride in the back seat. I am fearful that the car will catch fire or spark.

Had car towed to dealership on 12/17/14. Car not starting and stalling. Had battery replaced and next day car would not start again. Stalled and making noise under hood and in rear by battery. Took back to dealership and they stated could not replicate problem therefore no solution to be found. Told car was ready after waiting approx. 4 hrs. For them to try and replicate car shutting down. It just kept turning over.car once again shut off and would not start. Left car and they told me fuel pump module was melted and needed replacement. Also rear fuse block was melted and terminals in fuse block connectors overheated/spread apart. Replaced fuel pump module and rear fuse block and repaired wiring in fuse block connector. This is a rather serious problem on a 2010 with approx. 47,800 miles. Very dangerous for it could have caused a crash or fire in the car.

Fuse box problem with design. The seat latch design together shorts out the fuel pump relay. This gets hot, shorts out and damages the fuel pump and can cause possible fire. This is a costly deadly design flaw and should be recalled. Lucky we fixed it in time. I have babies that sit in my back seat and it's scary to think that it could catch on fire with them sitting there.

The contact owns a 2010 buick lucerne. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective fuel pump relay. After receiving the diagnosis, the contact had the fuel pump relay replaced. Despite the repair, the contact stated that while her husband was driving home from the mechanic at a low rate of speed, the vehicle shutoff again without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed back to the same independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. Upon investigation, the contact linked her failure to nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The contact was offered no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 158,000.

2010 buick lucerne had been driven home and was cooling in driveway.after two hours, starter would turn over but engine would not start.began to smell burning plastic inside vehicle.found symptoms of problem described in gm service bulletin 15-na-051.after removing back passenger seat bottom cushion, checked inside rear fuse box and found that fuel pump relay had shorted and melted the relay and damaged adjacent fuses with burn marks across surface of fuse box. Waiting for vehicle to be towed to mechanic for fuse box replacement and to diagnose other potential damage caused by relay failure.mileage at time of failure was 60,000.according to the bulletin, bracket on bottom of seat cushion pushes against the fuse box lid, which pushes against the fuel pump relay causing damage to the relay and fuse box.why has there been no recall to repair this dangerous design flaw?

"takata recall"the fuse board repeatedly burns up

No warning car would not crank. Turn over but not crank. After about a hour car cranked.1 week later car would not crank. But still would turn over. Found a burned fuel pump relay. Changed it out. 30 miles later. Car killed luckily come to a red light. Check relay , it was extremely hot. Located under the back seat where my kids ride. Only vehicle.is there a recall. As dangerous as ignition problem.

Car would not start. Noticed a burning smell. While researching problems found a thread on common issues with this car. Turns out the is an issue with the fuel relay. Checked the box sure enough the relay melted. This was under my sons car seat!!!! if this is a known issue why was this not reviewed and recalled. Does someone have to be injured or even die? how horrible is it that a known issue is not addressed. After the relay was discovered i also discover the fuse box has some indentations. These are from the seat clamp.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that one of the fuses in the fuse box had burned out. The fuse was replaced, but it was later discovered that the fuse and fuse box had melted. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Braking system came on during dry conditions without applying the brakes. This happened four times within the same month. Car veered to the right twice and the next time the front of the car nose-dived. Suspect that the stability control is causing the problem. No codes show up under diagnostics at the dealership. Dealership cannot do anything else at this time. Afraid to drive this car because of the conditions.

Engine mount had to be replaced twice since i have owned this vehicle, the first is listed above, the second time is sept, 24, 2012 and the mileage on the vehicle is 31,000.this is unusual and make me wonder if the part is deflective.a vehicle less than three year old has two engine mounts replace.this to me is a safety issue, what if more than one breaks or all of the engine mounts break then the engine will fall out of the vehicle which is unsafe.please investigate to see that this is not a common issue with the 2010 buick lucerne.

The contact owns a 2010 buick lucerne. The contact stated that the vehicle did not pass inspection due to engine mount failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the front motor mount and side torque mount were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 61,000.

The contact owns a 2010 buick lucerne. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, oil leaked from underneath the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that 16 different oil seals had failed, which caused oil to leak from the engine. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 13,000.

I recently rented a brand new buick lucerne car from enterprise rentals. The following day i was standing by the rear of the car and i sustained a painful burn on my leg from the chrome tailpipe.second or third degree burn approx 3x3 cm.i am very concerned that a child could grab onto the tailpipe and be severely burned. I have photos.

The contact owns a 2010 buick lucerne. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter and the motor mount needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was unknown.updated 3/13/15updated 9/11207

Car would not start while out of town.had car towed to mechanic i trusted (not a certified buick dealer).replaced fuel pump but after car was running a few minutes fuse box overheated and caused fuel relay to fail.he called buick and was told how to fix.he was also told that in order for fuse box and relay to be reimbursed buick dealer needed to submit claim.submitted claim and got reimbursed for fuse box and relay but not pump.after 3-4 months of fighting buick to get fuel pump reimbursed, the denied appeal.was told by agent of buick that fuel pump was warranted to 120,000 miles but only if taken to buick dealer.i don't trust the buick dealership in the town i was in when the car wouldn't start, which is why i took to mechanic i trusted.communication with buick has been horrible...they don't even bother to respond unless you get contacting them.we have a 2006 buick lucerne with 205,000 miles and it still has original fuel pump.car complaints.com has many instances of this problem in 2009 and 2010 lucerne but buick won't stand behind them!

Car started and was cooling down in a parking lot when it died without warning. It wouldn't restart. We towed it to a shop where they determined that the fuel pump had gone bad. Later discovered a bad sensor and relay. All traced back to the fuse box under the driver's side passenger seat that had melted due to pressure put on it by seat and various occupants/items. Mechanic replaced fuse box, relay, sensor and fuel pump plus warned me not to place anything heavy (or allow a heavy person to sit) on that side of the back seat. Mileage is 116,245

When to start vehicle on the above date and it would not turn over, the day before while i was driving i smell something burning and today it does not start.reading about problem and complaint on the internet i realize that this is a common problem with the vehicle years 2006 until 2011.it seems there needs to be a recall on these vehicle, because a fire hazard could happen and the vehicle can catch fire while driving or stopped.

The car cranks but does not start. I have had the car into the dealer 3 times and purchased spare relays and spare fuse box . Car became very unreliable...never knew when it was going to start. I replaced fuel pump relays 8 times until my third (and hope final) visit to dealer . Total bill so far about us$1700. 1st visit (sep 15 2015)- they replaced fuel pump and relay. Car ran until..... 2nd visit (dec 01 2015) - they replaced fuse box with used because gm did not have any new ones at any warehouse!!! they read bulletin 15-na-051 that referred to fuel pump relay problems due to rear seat clip and modified seat clip so it no longer protruded into fuse box cover. After this visit relay was fried upon starting about 5 times until..... Jun 22 2016 - visited dealer (after phone calls not answered) to discuss repeated problem and possible causes with service manager -found a deep mark in fuse box cover - indicated thatused fuse box i had been in contact with av seat clip ... 3rd visit ( jun 23 2016) - they checked wiring between fuse box and fuel pump carefully at my request and replaced the used fuse box with new one. So far after 10 starts it still works and i am a little bit more confident that we have found the problem (damaged fuse box terminal due to seat clip?), but only time will tell. Gm's lack of interest in this problem is disgusting...i have read over 60 complaints for this car from 2006-2011 models and no doubt this is a small sample. It is the most common complaint for the lucerne on complaint websites. The bulletin re the seat clip (an easy diy fix) is not available publicly . This would save much frustration and dollars. -- despite the fact that this was a common and serious problem with this car, gm did not stock new replacement fuse boxes.

The contact owns a 2010 buick lucerne. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate and there was a sudden increase in rpms. In addition, the vehicle jerked. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to multiple dealers who were unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Purchased 2010 buick lucerne in dec. 2009. Have the gear shift on steering column. When gear shift is in drive the total on star navigation system and 1/3 of radio cannot be seen. This is an accident waiting to happen. You have to takeyour eyes off the road and turn your body towards center of car to see the directions for navigation and also to see dials on radio. Wrote a letter to ceo of gm in jan. 2010.at first, they said it was my stature that i could not see navigation nor radio. (am 4' 9") and that if i wanted to rectify this situation, i would have to pay $800 for a different radio. Since then, i went to the dealer and had the car test driven by the service manager. I have a work order confirming this.results - noone can see the navigation system in the drive position. Called gm - was angry as they lied to me. They now admit that this is a problem but would not do anything until more complaints are registered (i feel accidents to happen). They are keeping an open file. This is wrong. I cannot use the system as i'll have an accident. Even the radio, i am reluctant to change stations until i am stopped because i cannot tell where stations are. Gm advertises the wonderful on star navigation system but i can't use it or i'll get into an accident.have been contacting gm for 3 months and nothing is happening. Can you help?

I have had about 3 incidences of power brake and power steering failure at low speeds (10 mph or less) during rainy weather.when making a turn, either right or left, the power steering and power brakes fail. This does not occur at every turn attempt but does happen occasionally.it is quite disconcerting. I will not let my wife drive during wet weather and i am very cautious.

On september 14th 2015 i was driving my buick lucerne on a very busy street here in the boston area @ approx. 11:18amwhen the steering on my buick failed. I was fortunate enough to be able to direct the car onto a curb. For a moment i feared a total loss of control of the vehicle. Fortunately a police officer arrived and assisted me. The car was towed to mclaughlin chevrolet in whitman, ma. According to that dealer's service dept. Statement, the power line was rotted as was the power steering hose. This is a similar issue that has led to recalls on other gmvehicles in past years. My 2010 buick lucerne has only 39,412 on it. It is very well maintained. It is very alarming that a major steering malfunction happened on my well maintained, low mileage car. I thank god that i was able to steer the car onto the curb. If i was on a major highway then i regrettably feel that it would have been a catastrophic event for me. I have the defective part as well as the invoice from mclaughlin chevrolet. For your possible revue. The repair cost me $498.75. I sincerely feel that this is adangerous defective part issue. I look forward to hearingfrom your agency.

2010 buick lucerne. Consumer writes in regards to the reflection of the dashboard in the windshield *tgw

This car is not safe to drive, alot of blind spots, cannot see to make a turn. Because of the headrest position and upper door panels. Poor design.

Driver's door would not open from either outside or inside after multiple tries of locking and unlocking. Dealer thinks it's the actuater.it happened a few times when i tried to get out of the car forcing me to crawl thru the passengerside. Being 85 yrs. Old this was no easy thing to do !!! if there wasan accident damaging the passenger side iwould be trapped.i consider this a safety concern.

The driver's side, interior door handle is broken. The entire inside door panel must be replaced. There are no replacement parts available.the dealer has tried to order a replacement part but has been unable to get one.i have checked with the local salvage yards and have been unable to find one there either.i am 79 years old with arthritis.i have had several joint replacements as well. It is very difficult for me to roll down the window and open the door using the outside handle.i am unable to crawl over the console to get out the passenger side door. When at home i park in the garage and leave the window down.last week i got in my car and the battery was dead.fortunately ,this happened at home in my garage where i leave the window down.if i had arrived at my destination and then came back and got in my car the outcome could have been disastrous. I would have been stuck in my car on a humid sunny 94 degree day.this could have been fatal.as i mentioned earlier my dealer has been unable to get a replacement part.my son and i have both contacted buick.other than to acknowledge that they have received our complaints they have been slow to respond.this is a potentially life threatening defect as the temperature in this area regularly exceeds 90 degrees in the summer, and below freezing in the winter.i am writing this on behalf of my 79 year old mother [xxx]. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).?

2010 buick lucerne. Consumer states problem with vehicle accelerating rapidly on its own. *tgwthe consumer stated the sudden acceleration happened when the cruise control was on and off.the consumer stated the sudden acceleration has happened at least 15 times; once while pulling into his garage, several times on the interstate and several times in heavy city traffic.the dealer stated the floor mat became trapped under the accelerator. However, the consumer disagreed with that theory.

The contact owns a 2010 buick lucerne. While driving approximately 65 mph with the cruise control engaged, the contact began to drive uphill.
