The contact spun out of control until the vehicle crashed into a guard rail. The air bags failed to deploy and the vehicle was destroyed. The contact sustained injuries to the left eye, and bruising to the breast and shoulders. The contact later suffered many complications from the crash. A police report was not filed. The contact owns a 2009 buick lucerne.while parking the vehicle with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle surged forward and damaged the front end when it crashed.the air bags failed to deploy, but there were no injuries.the contact refuses to drive the vehicle in this condition.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they will test drive it the next few days.the failure mileage was 4,500.

Red light warning indicated that airbag needed servicing.took it to the dealership where car was purchased.dealer stated that it was an electrical problem.there is no warranty for this. Seems strange that a 5 yr. Old automobile with low mileage should need a whole new system or have this problem.it is very expensive to repair.

The car impacted the other car by turning left into the path of the oncoming car.the front end of the buick was seriously damaged and car subsequently "totaled" by the insurance company.the airbags did not deploy which resulted in broken bones and bruises tothe driver.

Vehicle was stationary in driveway. Vehicle would not start. It had worked fine the day prior. The vehicle was cranking and clearly had power but would not turn over. I noticed that i could not hear the fuel pump prime when the key was turned. Like many others, i found the fuel pump relay to be charred like it had been burning. The fuse block was also melted at pin 30. This is such a fire hazard being under the back seat, dealing with the fuel pump, and overheating like it does. It seems to be a commonly reported problem and i cannot believe there has not been a recall. Currently waiting on parts to replace the melted fuse block and the relay.

My 2009 buick lucerne that i use in my daily commute to work did not give me any issues until that friday,10/23/2015. I tried to start my vehicle that morning and it seem as if it was not getting any fuel. Had the vehicle tolled after contacting my extended warranty company. Monday i received a call from the dealership that the problem was diagnosis as the fuel pump relay has not only overheated but has melted the fuse box. My concerns are that this could have occurred while i was driving, also this seems to be a known but not publicized issue by both the manufacturer and the insurance company. Too many identical incidents have occurred and has been reported, yet no one has received any reported action to correct this dangerous problem. It does not take a mechanical expert to know that a device that can cause fire to something associated with the fuel system is a matter of great concern. Hopefully this problem will be taken seriously before something fatal happens.

Submission from constituent re 2009 buick lucerne recall notice.according to the recall notice, the parts were not available. Recall # 14v355000.

Fuel pump relay burns out and is so hot to the touch it will burn your hand. Was found when the car would not start. Has happened twice now, a week apart, and on the second occurrence the fuel pump was replaced by the mechanic to rule out a possible short causing the issue. The relay is still getting hot so much so that the seat gets hot and i fear it will catch on fire. The mechanic is going to look at the fuse block to see if there is corrosion or damaged wiring causing the issue. The relay was hot when the car was running, and just hadn't cooled by the time it was found. This speaks for how hot it was getting as it burned the mechanic when it had been sitting a few minutes. It does cool down after a while so it is not heating up while stationary.

6/2/15vehicle would not start, full power and crank but would not engage. Car towed to buick dealer where i purchased car. Ck ecm codes - none ck ign and fuel system -no fuel pressure - ck fuel deliver system found fuel pump failure. Replaced fuel module assembly. $624.00.6/08/15 vehicle wouldn't start. Pulled relay for fuel pump and put it back in and it started. I drove it back to the dealership. They checked fuel pump relay, found rear fuse panel damaged due to poor connection at fuel pump relay. Replaced rear fuse block.cost $291.00. After doing some research problem seems common and stems from an obvious problem with these fuse boxes. Read there was a national backorder on these fuse boxes at one point. Sounds like this should of been a recall and replaced for free.

The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.

Fuse box under rear seat burned leaving car unable to run, leaving us stranded in humid 90 degree temperature.car towed, repaired costing nearly $800.

Fuel pump relay burned out 3 times in less than a month, and the car would not start, causing the fuse block to burn. The first time, the vehicle was parked in the garage, and wouldnt start one morning, causing me to have to call off work. The next time, vehicle was in motion, on a city street, on my way to work one morning, and the power steering and acceleration died, causing me to have no control of the vehicle.

Driving down the road the car quits and cranks but no start. Found fuse box at fuel pump relay melted together.cleaned terminals and replaced relay drove car 20 miles to have it do it again.fuse box get hot and it is located under rear passenger seat next to battery.i have read where other people with same year, make and model having the same problem and around the 70,000-80,000 mileage.i feel that it is a safety problem in both accidents and fire.

Fuel pump relay heated up and burned up fuse block witch is located under rear seat.fire hazard. Sits above gas tank. Car will not start or will lose power while driving.lost steering and brakes. There has been numerous complaints about this. Also ignition switch not working.

The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.updated 7/7/15

Going down highway 70 mph straightaway car stalled able to get to side of highway pulled off seat found fuse box temp hot when cooled down noticed fuel relay switch burnt out. Common problem with car due to engineering of seat brackets hitting fuse box and damaging it. This is the second time in 5 years fuse box has been replaced by certified dealership. Obviously problem is with the engineering of seat bracket but apparently dealer does not take me seriously and did not trim seat clips per my specific request bc there is only a bulletin from gm 15-na-051 not a recall. Several complaints have been madeand must be common enough for a bulletin luckily no one was tailgating or this could have been a very serious accident.

Crank, but no start. Fuel pump relay pin melted into fuse block(under rear seat). Replaced fuel pump relay, with same result: no start melted the 4th pinin relay and plastic on fuel block creating an obvious fire hazard, that close to the fuel tank, under rear seat.

Came out from work and car would not start but would try to turn over. Got car towed to mechanic shop to get fixed. They found that the fuse box under the back seat was melted. They stated that this has been common in buick lucerne models but that there hasn't been a recall. I don't understand why no recall when many people have experienced same exact problem.

The contact owns a 2009 buick lucerne. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.updated 01/20/15*lj updated 10/5/2015

The buick was in my garage which is attached to the house, before going to bed i always open the door to the garage to be sure the garage door is down and the flag is inside. Did so that night and all was normal.the next morning when i opened the door to the garage to put the big door up and the flag out the garage was very warm. No other indication of a problem, assumed he furnace had acted up. We took the car to have breakfast did notice the hood was very warm as if the car had been running (i do not have a sense of smell so did not smell an exhaust) fuel was very low ( i wondered if there was enough to get to a service station) filled he carhad breakfast then came home not apparent problems. Later that morning my wife use the car to go to an appointment when it started to miss, she pulled off the road and called aaa who towed the car to the nearest buick dealer. The car is there now, they had no yet determined the problem.

I own a2009 buick lucerne that i attempted to start the vehicle on random occassions. On another occasion the vehicle stalled on highway 49 in the middle of traffic. It fails to start, some relays are hot even when the car is off, fuel relay has been replace 4 times and it gets extra hot and will almost burn your hand, the fuse boxis melted partly and has a burning smell. The fuel pump voltage was checked and is good. On the last try to crack now the driver door windo and door lock is not working. There is no corrison under the fuse box. Buick does not have a recall out on the fuse box or relay. The vehicle had to be towed 25 miles.this is a safety hazard. I have a disabled daughter who is transported in my car and i worry about the safety of this vehicle. Buick is aware of this issue with this particular car. The bucik forum and nhtsa websites both have complaints about this issue. The manufacture has been notified. It will take accidents, injury, or deaths for this issue to be resovled it seems. As buick and dealers continue to sell these cars many peoples lives are i jeopardy. I have reviewed pages on complaints and again buick is aware of these issues.

Car cranked but would not start, checked every thing out found fuel pump fuse burnt removed fuse found fuse block burnt, fuse looked like it had been on fire at one time. I live in the country with nothing but curvey roads if that fuse would have gone out when i was driving i would had run off road and hit a tree killing me or my passengers. The fuel pump relay overheated and melted in the fuse box. I smelled the burning in the car.i had to have the fuel pump, relay and fuse box replaced. The mechanic told me that the fuse box could have started a fire and he has never seen this happen, let alone in a vehicle with such low mileage. He told me to google the problem with my car because hundreds of other car owners have had the same problem. Sure enough i did just that and i saw hundreds of people with the same complaint about this model car. Gm needs to be held accountable. Are they waiting until somebody dies first before they acknowledge the problem of the fuel pump relay and the fuse box?

The vehicle was towed to empire chevrolet buick (1931 us-421, wilkesboro, nc 28697, (336) 838-2191) where it was diagnosed that the relay and fuse panel underneath the rear seat had melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000. The vin was invalid.

Fuse block and relay burned up under rear seat.car wouldn't start several times.after car became warm, it wouldn't start anymore.it actually burned the foam around the seats.

I was driving down the highway when my car just stopped running. Luck had it i wasn't on an interstate, thirty minutes later i would have been. (i'm a retired mechanic of 48 years.) up on checking the car i found that there was no fuel pressure. Had the car towed to gm auto center in laramie, wy. I told the service writer that i presumed that the fuel pump had went out. When the tec. Ran diagnostics and a visual check they found that the fuel pump control module and fuse box were burnt. The tec. Told me that he had seen this before and showed me another fuse box with the exact damage. After returning home i was told by another mechanic that one of his customers had the same problem. This is a serious problem as all these items get melting hot and are located under the back seat just in front of the gas tank which is plastic and the seat is nothing but foam creating a serious fire hazard. I had the recall on the ignition switch done. After my experience with my car i think it was a smoke screen for the real problem the fuse box, fuel pump control module or fuel pump. No one wants to take this seriously. This all started on 09/25/2015 car millage 61855. I have the items in question.

After being driven normally all day, the car all of a sudden wouldn't crank properly after being parked for a few hours.the car needed to be towed to a car shop.according to a local mechanic, the back seat pressed on the wiring that, in turn, burned up the electric panel and the fuel pump.due to this, the electric panel and the fuel pump need to be replaced.

Vehicle stalls out without warning. Unable to start. Burning smell under rear seat (driver side). Service bulletin issued by gm #15-na-051 (july 26, 2016). Design defect causing no start/stalling condition because rear seat bottom bracket pressing on fuel pump relay causing fuel pump relay to short out (burn out). This is a safety issue which could cause serious injury or death by causing an accident when car stalls out without warning. Gm refuses to issue recall. Gm says to take vehicle to local dealer and have repair/modification done at owners expense.

When driving the car died and would not start. The fuel pump relay had burned up and so we changed the relay, but that did not fix the problem so we went ahead and changed the fuel pump; this did not fix the problem. The fuel pump relay switch is still getting red hot and not sure at this time what is causing the issue. Having it looked into further. I am not sure if there is a recall on this issue or not but have seen quite a few people having this same issue,

Rec- battery drain no start condition or a stall may melt or overheat. I reveived letter on 1/2019 however experienced this issue in july 2018 had to have car towed mechanic rep;aced bettery. Tk to dealershipthey experienced the same and draining battery. Sent invoice to buick for reimbursement of battery that was still in warranty and towing refused to reimburse this should be a recall several complaints and a safety issue. Vehicle was stationary in parking lot could have been worse

Seems strange that a 5 yr. Old automobile with low mileage should need a whole new system or have this problem.it is very expensive to repair.

Engine fails to start. After research online, checked fuel pump relay fuse and sure enough relay blown and had melted to fuse block at one pin on relay. Replaced fuse and car started and ran like nothing was ever wrong. Within a week the same thing happened only this time the car would not start after replacing the fuel pump relay. Had car towed to buick dealer. They replaced the complete fuse block that contains the fuel pump relay which is located under the rear car seat. Cost about $840.00 total ( $40.00 for the 2 fuel pump relays; $75.00 for the towing and therest was dealer charge to replacefuse block). Asked them if they found what was causing this and they said everything checked ok after replacing fuse block. Have not had any more issues so far although it has only been a couple weeks but would think something has to be causing too much amperage to be drawn to have caused this. Don't know if fuel pump can cause too much amperage draw. Again, dealer said nothing showed up after replacing fuse block

A piece to the fuse box under back seat has melted inside of the fuse box, which has caused the car not to start. The vehicle is now in front of my home, sitting. Buick has no recall but yet this keeps happening.

The contact owns a 2009 buick lucerne. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after the ignition was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but failed to remedy the vehicle. Furthermore, the contact stated that the rear seat on the driver's side would get extremely hot. The contact was concerned that the failure could cause a fire. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 99,600.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.

Fuel pump relay being burned or melted by shortage in fuse box.

My 2009 buick lucerne would not start in my driveway on the morning of june 8, 2019. The mileage of the vehicle is 109466. The engine would crack but not start. I found that the relay for the fuel pump was burnt which is located under the rear seat in a fuse box. This was replaced and the vehicle started again and ran. That evening after driving approximately 160 miies, the vehicle shut off while traveling at a speed of 45 miles per hour. I lost all power functions of the vehicle but was able to avoid having an accident while pulling off the road. At the time my wife was in the front passenger seat and my mother was in the rear seat behind my wife. The fuse box is located under the rear seat behind the driver. As long as we owned this vehicle nobody has sat behind the driver as i'm 6'3" tall. The vehicle was towed to countryside auto group located at n8167 kellom rd. Beaver dam, wi 53916. The service department there replaced the fuse box, replaced the relay with a low profile relay, and trimmed the metal seat brackets so it would not push down on the fuse box. The technician stated that from the weight of people sitting on the seat put pressure on the box which caused the relay to short out and fail. The repair cost $647.79 after researching this problem i found out this is an issue with the 2009 buick lucerne as there is a service bulletin #15-na-051. It clearly shows how to correct this problem. My concern is the safety issue related to this problem is you lose complete power function of the vehicle which could happen at anytime. There should be a safety recall for this problem no matter what the mileage of the vehicle is at time of failure. I will include a pic of the burnt relay. I was not returned the melted fuse box.

Vehicle would not start in the garage. Had it towed to a local garage where the diagnosis was failed fuel pump relay. Fuel pump relay overheated and melted the fuse block. The 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump relay did not fail. A visual inspection of the relay shows an internal burn mark between pins 85 & 86. Since this block is under the rear seat, on which my grandchildren our strapped in i am concerned about the chances of fire. As far as i can tell their is no recall, but a quick search of the internet indicates an ongoing problem.

My fused box melted and stopped the fuel the from going to my engine. The fused box was heated to the point of burning and melting.

The contact owns a 2009 buick lucerne. The contact stated that while his girlfriend was driving at an unknown rate of speed upon exiting a highway, the vehicle had shut off without warning. She was able to pull the vehicle over and restart the vehicle. As the contact's girlfriend proceeded to drive, she initially smelled smoke coming from the vehicle; she then saw a flame ignite from the bottom rear passenger seat. She stated that she was initially unable to unlock the doors or roll down the driver side window; after a second attempt, she was able toroll down the driver side window and exited the vehicle. A fellow motorist saw the situation and called the fire department. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The vehicle was destroyed at the scene and was towed to an independent junk yard.the contact called penske buick gmc(100 s museum rd, shillington, pa 19607) where he was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Car was fine 1 day next day would not start. Had it towed mechanic replaced fuel pump and relay.next day i'm driving going down hill and it looses all power and won't start. Had it towed again. Mechanic replaced relay.picked car up and drove it for about 2 hours and relay burned out in middle of intersection. Walked to parts store and bought relay. Replaced and drove home. Next day going to work and relay burns out again. It is super hot and melts plastic around the hole in fuse box where the prong goes in.have replaced it several more times and i am now taking it back to mechanic before it catches on fire or gets me killed driving down the road.this is a major problem with the buick lucerne.i once trusted this vehicle.please please please recall and fix this problem. Stranded every time i leave the house.

Corrosion of fuse box located under back seat.

After returning from a two hour trip i parked my car at home. The next day i tried to start my car and it would only turn over.a mechanic found the fuel pump defective, fuel pump relay burnt and the power panel burnt as well.

While driving in petoskey the car started to miss an backfiring then the motor stop running. I couldn't stop or steer the car.after i got the car finely stopped the car wouldn't start up an i could smell like wire burning. I had the car delivered to an auto shop brown motors in harbor springs mi. After the diagnosis they found that the fuse block under the rear seat was burned up at the fuel pump fuse, an was on fire at one time.. The fuse block was beyond fixing an neededa new oneinstalled.there was a recall on the ignition switch, but this isn't what is wrong with these cars,i don' believe that the ignition switch on there recall are what is wrong, i believe that the fuse blockis whatwrong with there recalls when the fuse shorts out the fuelpump stops an so does the car motor. Strange that the car dealers for some reason has them in stock, there should be a recall on all car with this type of fuse box, this is whatcausing these car to stop running an get in a accidents.to day i got lucky.

Power distribution/fuse block under back seat shorted and got hot enough to melt wires.visible signs of heat and smoke on the unit and plugs.pictures attachedi can fwd my letter to buick if needed.

Car would turn over will not start. Mechanic said that fuse under seat over heated. Purchased with 95k7 days ago. After researching this is aknow issue for this model. I have it towed to a dealer i see fuel pump may need to be replaced as well. Will it take a fire or a highway accident before buick has to uwn up to this dangerous problem. I am sure you are aware of the problems with this model. Car was staitionary but what can prevent this happening to the owners drivng in motion.

While driving in pouring rain, engine stopped running. No power steering or brakes. I was just beginning to park my car in a parking stall between two other cars. Thank god i wasn't traveling fast and was able to avoid hitting another vehicle. I come to find out that my fuse block melted. Buick/gm technical service bulletin tsb title: 15-na-051 no start condition- seat bracket contacting rear electrical center (rec) - (nov 5, 2015) cost me $477.39 to repair. Unbelievable that there was not a recall done on this problem

I had just driven the car on a 2 hour trip with no issue. I drove that trip in the morning and that afternoon i went to start the car and the starter was going but the engine wouldn't start. I lifted the back seat to find an awful smell coming from the fuse box. I pulled the fuel pump fuse to find it singed. The vehicle will be needing a new fuse box and i'm still waiting to find the part.

My 2009 buick lucerne wouldn't start..thought it was the fuel pump had it checked out..the fuel pump was good so we check the relay fuse and it was burnt out. I put a new relay fuse in and drove around the block my check engine light went on..so we rechecked the relay fuse and it was burnt out again..there should be a recall on the relay and fuse box.this could start a fire..i have 3 small children i need my car but at the same time i need it safe..i looked online and about 10 or more people are having this same problem..please recall these parts..

Power steering failure when driving through water. Was turning off main highway into shopping area and the power steering failed to work for a few minutes. Very scary feeling. Had to stop car and back-up to make my turn.

I am a widow living alone on a fixed income.i have less than 80,000 miles on my vehicle.long story short.vehicle wouldn't start - had it towed to shop - they put it on machine - showed fuel pump was out - put in a new relay, fuel pump, etc.did not solve problem.found later that fuel box, relay fried, partially melted area on fuse box .fire hazard.ending up paying over $1000 for repairs.have been told repeatedly that this has been an issue with this type car and there have been no recalls. Also told that probably will happen again.i cannot afford this.please help.there are hundreds of similar complaints.why doesn't someone do something about this dangerous and expensive issue.

On april 27 while we were driving on i-94 e in our 2009 buick lucerne with 6,127 miles on it. While pulling back on i-94 the car began to accelerate out of control and we held the brakes down to the floor but it would not stop it. I was able to put it in neutral and get over to the side of the road but the car was still wide open. I have notified gm and they sent us on several different people until it finally was sent to the gm executive office. They are still refusing to do anything about if. We are asking that they prove to us that the car is safe to drive but they still refuse they tried at first to tell us that it was the winter mats that we had in our car but when the dealer tried to duplicate the problem they finally told me that it was not the matt now gm still has not got back with me. My wife will not drive the car since it was her that was driving when the car ran away. If i-94 was backed up they would have been a huge crash because we would not have been able to stop the car please look into this matter we took it straight to the dealer and they saw that the brakes were smoked and need work to correct them.

My fused box melted and stopped the fuel the from going to my engine. The fused box was heated to the point of burning and melting.

The vehicle is leaking fuel down the sides of the gas tank and there is pooling of fuel around the fuel pump on the tank , also on this vehicle the exhaust pipe runs in the middle of the gas tank. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and diagnosed with a leaking gas tank, after hearing that the vehicle was taken to the gm dealership and diagnosed. The gm dealership is stating that the gas tank is cracked. The vehicle has never been in a wreck! this is a serious safety issue and there should be an investigation on this matter, and i also think that it is the fuel lines going to the fuel pump that sits inside of the gas tank that are leaking, not a crack tank. Leaking or cracking fuel tanks on vehicle should be an automatic recall.thank you for your time:

Car would turn over will not start. Mechanic said that fuse under seat over heated. Purchased with 95k7 days ago. After researching this is aknow issue for this model.

Car is stationary and stinks like plastic is burning, turns over but won't start. Checked fuse box and found fuel pump relay and fuse box blackened and burnt. This is wife,s car she uses to take my daughter and friends to soccer so ii want to know if i replace relay and fuse box is it fixed or am i putting my family and others at risk. Gm says nothing about issue so i do not know.60,000 miles.

Car cranked but would not start. Diognostic indicated fuel pump was unable to get pressure. Recommended by technician to replace fuel module. Car started following installation of fuel module. Following a complimentary wash car would not start. Technician determined that fuel pump relay and block had been burned. Because i was concerned that i had paid for parts and labor that were not necessary, i did research on line and found that the fuel pump relay burn out had been a problems since 2006. Online i noted that many complaints have been made concerning this fuel pump relay. According to several people who have had this problem, it is very dangerous as the fuel pump relay and block actually creates enough heat to cause gas tank and battery to ignite. Since this apparently has been a problem since lucerne 2006,why has this problem not been addressed as it is life threatening?

Fuel pump relay heated up and burned up fuse block witch is located under rear seat.fire hazard. Sits above gas tank. Car will not start or will lose power while driving.lost steering and brakes. There has been numerous complaints about this. Also ignition switch not working.

The contact owns a 2009 buick lucerne. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact pulled out the rear seat to reach the fuse box and noticed that the fuse box was partially burnt and fuel pump relay also burnt on august 17, 2018. New fuel pump relay purchased and temporarily repaired by contact. In january 2019, the vehicle was taken to phillips buick gmc (2160 us why 441, fraudulent park, fl 34731) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and fuse block (box) needed replacement and the rear seat needed to be modified. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Tcontact says there has been numerous reported fuel pump relay, fuse block and fuel pump reported failures on buick lagrange. The major safety problem are the failures that occurred while the cars were being driven and the engine stopped running. Enclosed is a copy of the bill from phillips buick/gmc.

After returning from a two hour trip i parked my car at home. The next day i tried to start my car and it would only turn over.a mechanic found the fuel pump defective, fuel pump relay burnt and the power panel burnt as well.

Fuel pump relay and control circuits .engine would turn over but wouldn't start. No fuel could get to the engine.

My wife was stopped waiting for a car to leave a parking spot. She had her foot on the brake ready to put it in park. She was headed for another part of the building when she stopped. The air bags did not deploy.there was less than 600 miles on the car. Fortunately no was injured badly. My wife has driven 31 years without an accident. This was not her fault. Someone could have easily have been killed if it happened on the street.

Bought car with rain sensitive windshield wipers 7/09. Replaced windshield with rain sensitive glass 7/10 due to large crack in windshield from a stone or rock.sept. 2010 i noted that the automatic wipers didn't always come on when it started raining but i could make them work manually in the high speed setting only.when car in for service at gm dealership, they could not replicate the problem, therefore could not fix it.in march 2011, service tech noted that windshield glass was not stamped as gm glass.said they could not call gm tech support or check the switch until windshield is replaced with oem glass. I elected not to purchase as new windshield at this time.the intermittent wiper problem continued and became increasingly dangerous in ice and snow driving.in march 2012 i had a new windshield installed at the gm dealership.that did not correct the wiper problem.took car back to dealership and this time they called gm tech support and were advised to replace the motor, which they did.the automatic wipers worked correctly until oct. 2012 when i took the car in for an oil change.i was advised that my windshield wipers needed replaced and i told them to go ahead and do it.two days later while driving in the rain, the wipers again didn't come on automatically.again, i could manually swipe the windshield on high speed only.in nov. 2012 i took car back to service dept at dealership and they could not replicate the problem as the wipers were working correctly on that day.they said they could not call gm tech support for advice.which leads me to feeling like i'm driving an unsafe vehicle---never knowing if the wipers are going to work correctly..
