Takata recallan airbag service in the dashboard all the time the vehicle is turn on and start.
Service air bag light came on. Took vehicle to dealer. Vehicle air bag module and connector replaced under warranty.service air bag light has come on and off several times over past few months. Currently light is back on and continues to stay on. This recurring situation indicates a problem with the vehicle's air bag system that should qualify for a recall. The integrity of the air bag system is obviously in question and personal safety is being compromised.
No air bag deployment on 40 mile per hour front end collision.
While driving home on rereidental street( 31th near charles street) in rockford il. At 8:00pm,crossing over charles street while the intersection light in my direction; and east bound vehicle dis-regared the light and crossed into my path turning left going south causing damage to the entire vehicle from the tires to the bumper. The empact turning the vehicle ( 2006 buick lucrene 4 dr.) completely around. My main concern is that the air bags ( driver/pass) did not deport....question to you is there any steps i can take to settle this issue for compensation..the vehicle was a total lost.
My parents were involved in a front-end collision. Their car was totaled; the front end was smashed in so that they had to pry open the glove compartment to remove their personal papers and the key could not be removed from the ignition.the side airbags deployed; the front airbags never deployed.my fathers most severe injuries were due to the front airbags not deploying. This model is not part of the gm recall of cars whose front airbags did not deploy in front-end collisions.it's taken gm 10 years; 13 fatalities; and countless other injuries; to finally recall some models; but obviously not all. Shame on the nhtsa for not following through.updated 05/12/14

Both rear passengers doors will not openfrom the inside or outside. This has been an recurring problem for about a year, it is such a shame how many complaints are filled for this particular defect and there is not any recalls.
I am writing in regards to the gm recall #14299. Ignition issue. We received a letter from buick/gm the end of september. I called the local buick gmc dealer to set up an appt to get it fixed, and she said i would have to call back in 2-3 weeks because the parts were backordered. Last week on the national news gm was complaining because people weren't getting this problem taken care of and they wanted to offer gift cards. I called the local dealer again and now the parts are in but they are booked until december 15 of this year because now everyone wants to get their vehicles fixed. So i have to go a little over another month before i can get this fixed? not real happy about how this was handled. If there's a recall, the manufacturer should have the parts in stock before a letter is sent out telling up to get our vehicle fixed right away.
Periodically at cruising speed of 50 to 60 miles an hour, speedometer will fluctuate wildly between 25 and 40 mph. When it does this transmission does not know what gear to be in, and in the event that the speedometer needle goes all the way to zero, it will not engage when you press the gas pedal even if you're in gear, only thing you can do is pull off and shut it down and wait several seconds to a few minutes for it to engage once again when you start it back up. This is an 06 buick lucerne with automatic transmission and 3.8 v6
The left rear door is locked and cannot be unlocked either manually or electronically.this constitues a safety hazard as it is impossible to enter or exit the rear seat from the left side.
My altenator stopped working and after it was replaced my fuse box would not read nor would my car crank. So i had it towed to a buick dealership where i thought all of my problems would be solved. They replace my fuse box with a used one because the box has been discontinued this was in april 2017 it is now may 2017 and i've had a diagnostic tes ran on it because my fans stopped working causing my nothstar motor to overheat. The diagnostic determined that fuse box is what's causing all of my problems. Every code led straight to that same fuse box. My vehichel was on and stationary when all of a sudden my power steering connector cracked and all of my fluids started to leak out from a result ofoverheating and the connectors being made of plastic and basically wearing from the heat.

Engine will not restart until battery has been disconnected to reset system, problem appears to be caused by a grounding problem or high resistance connection some where. No error codes stored. The factory repair kit improved the daytime visibility of the message center but still not as bright as the gauges and needles. The center glass lens reflection of the steering wheel bathed by the sun from the windows still overwhelms the message display and when driver is wearing sunglasses is completely unreadable. Control module failed as i entered the driveway, into my garage. The key couldnot be removed. Directional control was lost and the engine would not turn off. I replaced my sensor and my thermostat because the dashboard said the car was overheating after replacing it the dashboard continues to say the car is overheating. It's doing it while driving on public street and highways
I have filed a prior claim with you on the ignition control module failure.dealer replaced the entire module - gm subsequently issued recall for buicks, altho they are claiming the failure has to do with a slot/hole in a key.i had only the key and the lock fob on the key - i did not have lots of keys and other accessories linked to my key, nor did i hit a pothole or anything jarring.the car just died, no brakes, steering, unable to restart the car and i had to have it towed.i was fortunate that it was at a low speed and not 65 mph on a highway.this repair cost me $939 dollars.and i am not sure that the replacement part isn't a defective duplicate, an inventory shelf item that has the same defect as the part replaced.if gm is claiming it's only a key issue, then the drivers of these larger vehicles are all at risk, as well as other vehicles that might be involved in an accident with a car unable to be controlled.please don't let them get away with sweeping this issue under the rug.i don't want to be injured or cause a death because gm doesn't want to spend the money to replace defective modules. (i had the dealer give me the module they removed and will seek to find a good engineering test lab if gm continues to drag its feet on the lucerne issue) i understand these parts were made in china and there is also a reported history of defects - here is a copy of material reprinted from reuters:http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/6/25/gm-ignition-switchlinkedtorecallmadeinchina.html i am living on limited resources and don't want to have to sue gm to get reimbursed for this issue.thank you for the follow-up.

I lost engine power as i was driving on i75 approximately 16 miles south of venice florida. One of the tires exploded and the whole wiring system was destroyed due to the tire explosion, as well as the back bumper. My vehicle was towed to the buick dealer in venice florida. Cannot determine vehicle speed at times. Buick is aware of this serious safety defect.

Instrument panel (speedometer, gas gauge, temp gaugetach) are not back lighted during daylight driving. When it is cloudy but not dark enough for the light sensor to turn on the night mode, it is difficult to see these instruments and when you have sunglasses on it is impossible. This is a driving hazard because you do not know how fast your are driving or the state of your fuel. This is the 2006 buick lucerne.
Dash board gauges are not visible in the day time.they are properly illuminated at night.consulted darby buick in venice florida and was told there is no correction.safety defect.
I purchased a new 2006 buick lucerne cxl, the dash board data showing the speedometer, odometer, etc., is lighted at night and inclement weather. On sunny days the lights go out, all the items mentioned are not visible. It creates a hazard since it is not possible to tell the speed. My husband got a speeding ticket for traveling at 9 mph above the posted limit. The potential for an accident is exacerbated because reading any of the data while driving is impossible. Also the passenger's view of these items is obscured so that the ability to act as a co- pilot is eliminated. It seems to me that the device that turns these lights off could be modified to keep them lit. I entered a complaint the same week i purchased the car and nothing has been done, nor can i get any information from buick to indicate they are working on a solution.

You can not read the dash board instruments in the day time. You can not see how fast your going, how much fuel you have or if you are over heating. Which makes for unsafe driving. At night the dash board instruments are well lit and you can read every thing. I've reported this to the buick dealer with no results. This defect is on my new 2006 buick lucerne lxs.

Thewarning light came on and stated service stabilitrac and then went off.two weeks later came on again, and went off.the car began to shake and vibrate as brakes were applied when stopping.about a month after that the traction control light came on and the car began applying the brakes at a speed of about 50 miles per hour and making a noise that was loud enough to hear as it sounded like the pressing of the brakes to the wheel hubs.my wife and daughter and i turned aroundwent back home and parked the car and drove my truck to visit other family members that day.two weeks later i took the buick 2006 lucerne to have a gm certified mech put it on the diagnostic machine and the reported that nothing showed up as needing replaced.
Vehicle is a 2006 buick lucerne cx with 40,000 miles.about 2 months ago it started to go dead without any warning.the first occurrence was jan 15, 2014 with my wife driving.the next shutdown on mar 4, 2014, occurred in rush hour traffic. There was an audible signal accompanied by a "service traction control" warning, followed immediately by a throttle control warning and complete engine shutdown.i was able to coast across 2 traffic lanes into a parking area with great difficulty while steering and braking without power assist.tried to restart the engine but got ?throttle disabled? message.after 2-4 minutes was able to restart with no warning light illuminated.the last shutdown was on march 10, 2014, on the interstate at 70 mph.i had disabled traction control earlier in hopes of avoiding another unexpected shutdown.after coasting off the interstate, i was able to restart normally after a few minutes.no warning lights appeared after the restart.two gm dealers checked the car on mar 11, 2014.the first was a chevrolet dealer, and after some diagnostic work they sent me to a buick dealer down the street.both dealers said there were no error messages and they could not repair.they said when it happens again to bring it back in immediately for diagnosis.the 3 shutdowns have been on cold mornings, temps less than 40 degrees.i believe in all three cases the warning ?watch for icy conditions? has appeared prior to failure.this is an extremely dangerous failure mode that leaves no tracks if there is an accident!my wife now refuses to drive the car, and i am very apprehensive about it.
I purchased a new 2006 buick lucerne cxl in 2006.i have numerous times experienced acceleration in my vehicle.i have taken it to a buick dealer and they drove it and say they didn't notice it.i have also talked to a gmc dealer in the last several years and asked it anyone else has had a vehicle that just speeds up on it's own.i am from a very small town in missouri and 3 other people have purchased the same buick lucerne as mine and one of them says he thinks his vehicle may have sped up before, but he thinks he may have let the cruise control on.the first time this vehicle did this to me was on my way to the lake of the ozarks.i come from a small town there is really no where that i can use the cruise control except on larger trips.we have a lot of hills and curves.going to the lake of the ozarks the speed limit is 70.i used the cruise control.i got behind a trailer that was going very slow and traffic was a little busy, so i applied the brakes and when traffic was clear i passed the trailer.i was going to resume the cruise control, but before i even touched the button, my car took off and i was at 93 miles an hour and i hit the brake and it would not stop.i then tapped the brakes several times quickly and it started to slow down.when i got the speed down to 55, i then applied my foot back to the gas pedal and when i did, the gas pedal was not down or stuck, but i could feel a little something in it.this is something you do not feel in it all the time.i tried to figure out what happened and told my husband about it and he said you must has hit something wrong.i said no i'm telling you it did it on it's own.i go to work at 4:00 am in the morning.where i live there is a lot of deer, so i do not drive fast for about 3 miles to work.one morning i was driving on a straight stretch and when i came to about the top of a little hill my car again did the same thing.it just takes off and it catches you off guard.

2006 buick lucerne. Consumer states problem with stabilitrak system *tgwthe consumer stated the stabilitrak problem subsided for almost a year, but has now returned and it is much worse. Previously, there were only erroneous warninglights and beeps. Now, the stabilitrak system is occasionally deciding that there is a dangerous problem and applying the brakes without warning. The light continued to illuminate.
While passing a vehicle, accelerator immediately accelerated the vehicle to over 115 mph quickly, and the speed continued to climb. Could not deaccelerate. Both feet on the brake, no luck, shifted to 1st gear, no luck, pushed many buttons on steering wheel, no luck, accepted the fact that this was going to be a high speed deliberate rollover. Finally at the last possible moment, throttle disengaged.

My 2006 buick lucerneengines stops randomly. As i am traveling down the road the engine suddenly cut off and there is a loss of all power steering and brakes. All electrical components blacks out and when it stops you can not crank it. After waiting different amounts of time you can crank it up and continues until the next mysterious outage . This is my wife car and i do not allow her to drive it. I do not take it on any winding roads. I went to the dealership where i purchased and was told if there is no check engine light then no codes will be set to find the problem. I have carried it to three other shops to no avail. One mechanical was driving it around town and it happen on a roundabout. He said he had to struggle with all his might to get though it before he could stop. I do not know what to do and hopefully nothing dreadful will happen, like gm cares.

Aluminum v8 engine leaking oil profusely. Now getting smoke and odor while driving. My concern is that oil is leaking on to the hot exhaust manifold and could possibly ignite. I suspect engine bolts need to be retorqued which would necessitate engine removal to accomplish. This is a major design flaw which needs correcting. Leaks occur during all phases of operation. The leaks first became evident several years ago and have progressively worsened since.

I am writing a complaint to inform you about my 2006 buick lucerne, vin number [xxx].it has a defect.the car has been accelerating at various times.also, the car has turned off twice while i was driving.the first time was while i was driving in the parking lot at my job and the second time was on may 24, 2017 as i was just starting to pass the blinking lights.i really feel that the car is no longer safe to be driven after the recall in 2015.i honestly would like the problem fixed as soon as possible for my safety and the safety of others.this car is unsafe and i would prefer to have the value of the car instead of the car being repaired.the car was supposedly fixed after the recall and the same problem is still happening.it is my opinion that this car cannot be repaired.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Initially the auto hesitated and then accelerate. Reported to dealer on 09/18/06. Mileage was 7,291.. Then the auto would stall when driving at various speeds, at one time at 60 mph on the garden state parkway.various fixes by the dealer failed to stop the problem. Have all documentation.

Steering wheel is turnt to right and the only the front light come on not the back and my alarm is messing with with the computer and the gas
Since about 60,000 miles, the car it stalls out.it can stall going 70 mph down the interstate, stall at stop signs, stall pulling out of an intersection.last occurrence i was trying to cross a major highway when it stalled.i coasted across the highway and it restarted right away.if a car had been coming from either direction, we would have been hit.i have had 4 sensors replaced and nothing seems to fix this problem.
Took my car into firestone and found out that the motor mounts are sagging.most cars only need the bolts on the mounts replace - the lucerne is the only one where you need to replace all the motor mounts because they don't have bolts in them.another few miles and i will have an engine sitting on the highway. I am extremely upset because my husband is already handicapped and we bought this vehicle to last for more than 150,00 miles before we had to sink that kind of money in it.i have had a second opinion and it is indeed a problem.

I own an '06 buick lucerne cxs with defective motor mounts.these motor mounts are known to be defective and many bulletins have been posted, along with many known customers getting them replaced.i however have had bad luck getting my local buick dealership to replace them.the problem happens while taking off from a stop.the defective mounts cause the engine to vibrate and shake the car.this to me seems like a very dangerous issue to have to deal with and would like to get these mounts replaced as soon as possible.

I own a 2006 buick lucerne. The vehicle slows as if it is going to stalland cut off, it picks up speed on its own ,and whenstoppingthe vehicle cuts off. It presents a safety hazard in that most of my traveling is done via the expressway.when the car slows down i am at the mercy of the driver behind me. If he is going too fast and tail gates theni am sure to be rear-ended. I have taken this car to the dealership five times, andthey could not duplicate the problem.diagnostics showed nothing. Service department manager drove vehicle while in shop for fifth time and experienced the problem. Because diagnostics still doesn't recognize a problem he says they are having to call in an expert to determine the problem. The car has been in and out of shop since april 3, 2007, and each time the engineers from gm supposedly were in consultation with service department. This problem occurs randomly with no warning. Help!
I have a defective gas gauge which willmove up and down while driving. At times when i fill up it will register 3/4 when in fact it is full. Due to this failure i fill up every time i go more than 200 miles. To accomplish this i must keep a sheet and enter every time i fill up and must remember to turn the trip mileage back to zero each time. I have been in contact with gm since november of 2006 and all they say is "its a design change".car was purchased in june 2006but i did not notice it till october2006 because my wife hadgone through major back surgery in may 2006 and i was too busy caring for her and run the house to notice the gas gauge.
This has happened at least 4 times.we asked the buick dealer if there have been any complaints and they said no.it has happened the last 4 years and again today and it is kind of scary as it could be dangerous if we didn't put our foot on the brake firmly when it happens.what happens is if we are pulling into a parking place or our garage slowing to a stop the accelerator goes down on its own and if we did not put our foot on the brake it would take off on its own.it last only a few seconds maybe 5 or so and then it stops.we have checked the floor mat and this is not the problem.
I been paying alot to fix this vehicle every thing keeps going wrong with it and i don't feel safe
2006 lucerne instrument panel lights are hard to see during the day.***nar***the trunk release is hidden in the glove box.the consumer feels that this is very inconvenient.

Dt*: the contact stated during daylight hours, the instrument panel was difficult to see.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined the panel was set at high intensity, however the gauges remained difficult to view during daylight hours.the contact mentioned that the speed and fuel gauges were some examples of gauges that could not be viewed.the manufacturer was contacted, and offered three oil changes due to inconveniences.updated 10/02/06. , updated 11/28/2006.
Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's instrument panel had poor illumination during the day.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the illumination was normal.the vehicle was not repaired.the contact stated that their were other consumers experiencing similar problems via the nhtsa website odi #10150699.updated 10/31/2006 - the consumer feels that the poor illumination is a safety issue.

The dash lights on my buick lucerne will not come on when the light switch is on the automatic setting.this is a safety hazard since the gauges, including the speedometer are not fully visible.i have reported this to the manufacturer. Updated 6/23/2006 -
2006 buick lucerne csx received delivery january 2006 - safety issue - impossible to read speedometer, computer readout or any other gauges on instrument panel on a bright sunny day. Dash lights controlled automatically and light up at night but not in daytime.totally unable to read vehicle speed.
Dt*:the contact stated shortly after purchase it was discovered the dash panel gauges such as the tachometer and the speedometer were poorly lighted and made visibility limited.the vehicle was seen by a dealer.contrary to the manufacturer's design, the dealer rewired the dash panel lighting and bypassed the dash dimmer switch so the lighting illuminated at the brightest possible level.as a result, the dash panel lights could not be dimmed. Updated 03/09/06
Dt*: the contact stated that the instrument panel brightness control would not work during the daylight.as a result of this issue, it has been difficult for the contact to see the panel during the day.the service dealer was not able to determine the cause of the problem. Update 7/18/2006 -

I have experienced an issue that seems to be of concern ( reviewed complaints filed for the sameissue) for safety. My passenger side back door failed to unlock both from the inside and outside.if i were in an accident and had passengers in the back seat, this could be life threatening.i cannot image that there has not been a recall for such a serious issue. After talking to gm,they will not take any action until notified by nhtsa-odl. What does it take for this issue to be addressed?
The back doors on my buick lucerne 2006 have not unlocked for over a month.strangely, one day i leaned on one door from the inside and it unlocked for a few hours and then relocked.i see many other complaints for the same issue online.the dealers were not helpful or sympathetic and charged me one hundred dollars to diagnose this in five minutes, with a two grand estimate.it is unsafe for back seaters who cannot get in or out safely.this should be on a recall from gm right away.
2006 buick lucerne - vehicle rear doors will not open from inside or out. Doors are unlocked but passengers in the back seat can not exit the car without climbing over the front seat to exit the front doors. Car doors will not open with inside door handle or outside door handle. Requires replacement of the rear door lock assembly.
The rear door locks on the 2006 buick lucerne have a fundamental design flaw.if the rear seat passenger pulls the door handle to open the door while the door is locked, and holds it in place when the power lock mechanism attempts to unlock the door, the mechanism binds internally making the door impossible to open.this has occurred 5 times on our lucerne over the past 4 years.the only way to open the door is remove the inner door panel.reach into the lock through the access holes and free up the mechanism.until the door is repaired the backseat passenger sitting next to the frozen door cannot get out.i can't believe that the engineering team at gm has not discovered a fix for this condition.this is very disappointing and dangerous.
I closed the rear driver's side door. I then locked the car. Later after unlocking the vehicle the door would not open; from the outside or inside. It appears to be locking and unlocking. After checking forums i see that there are many buick lucerne owners that have also experienced this issue. This is a major safety issue! i can't believe there isn't a recall on this car. I'm scared to put my children in the back seat by chance we are in a accident and they are injured.

Reported this to dealer on 7/2/13 and was diagnosed as inside door lock assy at 58.97$, and 410$ plus tax to repair. Went home banged on in side of door and was able to open until this week when problem recurred and no amount of banging would open door. Went on google and noted this to be prevalent with many owners. This can be fatal in an accident where the passenger cannot exit the vehicle. Do we have to wait for a fatality before the gm acknowledges either a faulty design or faulty part, and repair without customer cost. Please advise.

Latches locks linkages -- starting at 52000 miles, my buick lucerne 2006's rear passenger door would not open under any circumstances. The door will not open from the inside, from the outside, and although the key fob visibly actuates the latch, it does not assist in opening the door. Now at 53000, the driver's side rear door will not open.i now have no access to half of the inside of the automobile.after investigating numerous complaints on the internet, i discovered that apparently this is due to a latch assembly failure in each door.the buickforums.com provided advice:chisel open the back doors, then pull the door panel off.at that point, apparently the visible linkages are not the issue.instead, it is the internal mechanism of the lock housing.problem not resolved.

When driving and accelerating, vehicle looses power. This is dangerous. This is an intermittent problem and no check engine light comes on. The speed does not play a part in this problem nor does the amount of gas in the fuel tank. The vehicle will loss power and have a big jerk and bang when accelerating out of a parked position. I have had the vehicle stall when turning onto a street and start back up. This morning in pulling out onto a busy street in my neighborhood, the car lost power, but regained power before i got hit. This is dangerous. I went to the dealership where i purchased and was told if there is no check engine light then no codes will be set to find the problem. So what do i do with this car? i know i have passed the lemon law. I have no warranty left. But my main concern is safety, not only myself but for others. Just saying what if this morning my car had not regained power and that family in the car with their babies couldn't stop and hit me. I don't want to think that those babies could have been hurt because i have a car that has a mysterious problem. So morally what do i do, trade and let someone else deal with this problem? keep on paying on a vehicle, that i am concerned about driving? also, i was a service adviser for 12 years in a gm and chrysler dealership. I have an understanding of vehicles. Please if you don't have a resolution, don't blow smoke at me. Thank you for your time.

My car's transmission did not come out of park at a large gas station. The car could not be moved buy any means. After several phone calls to various repair shops i was told that the brake interlock pin would not release. I was told that gm did not build an override into the shifter. After 1 plus hours of trying the pin finally released. By not putting the car in park i got the car to the dealership. They said that the part was superseded twice. The part failed three times before it was repaired. The car could have locked up in a more dangerous situation than mine.
I put my car in park, 5 minutes later i go to take it out of park and it does not shift. It has happened 3 times since i got the car in 2013. The gear shift is giving me a big problem and of course only the first incident was covered under my warranty.
I started the engine and the "low engine power light" came on the dashboard. I pressed the pedal down and had to press the pedal all the way to the floor to get the car to go 5 mph. I had to drive on the shoulder of the road and keep pumping the gas pedal up and down to keep the car going. At traffic lights i had to put the car in neutral and floor it to race the engine in order for the car to move. It is hazard driving on a free way at 5 mph. I was able to make it to tire discounters because they were the only one open on christmas eve as mark sweeney gmc/buick was not open and normally take my car to brocherding gmc/buick. The service person at tire discounters discovered it was the throttle switch which was bad. I ended up being able to get a rental car while my car ws being repaired. I picked up my car on december 29, 2014 to find that another person had brought their 2006 or 07 buick in for the same problem at tire discounter. I will never own another american made car again. This buick lucerne is the demon car and i have spent over 10k in repairs the past 3 years to keep it running.
After driving the car to school my daughter was unable to shift the car into gear.my husband went to the car and was also unable to shift.we had the vehicle towed to our local garage and received a call this morning that the shifter cable broke.the total price for repair is 360.00i noticed there was a recall for a similar gm vehicle for the shift cable breaking and a recall issued in the cadillac vehicle.the recall claimed the vehicle was unable to shift in or out of gear.this is the same problem we experienced with our lucerne.i'm thinking the lucerne should be included in this recall.thank you for checking.
We were slowing to make a left turn when we lost all power we coasted to the curb and when i tried to start it there was a clicking as if it was a low battery. After a few minutes it started but ran rough but was able to get it home a few blocks away. Had it towed to a dealer and they could not find the problem. A week later it happened two more times and was able to get to the dealer who could find no problem. We had no more problems for four months and then it happened again. We took it to the dealer for the fourth time and again they could not find anything. We have contacted g.m. Customer svc. Twice and buick customer svc. Who have opened a case file [xxx]. And suggested we contact a buick dealer in oregon when we get home. We live in oregon and spend winters in calif. So now we must drive a 1000 miles not knowing when or if our car will suddenly die. Freeze plug failed (not due to freezing).dealer indicated not to drive vehicle.was necessary to tear out transmission to make repairs with a new type of replacement plug.dealer had car from wednesday noon to following tuesday evening.new type of seal cost $24.50 and the labor was $1,114.00.gateway buick in dallas, texas. Indicated that if seal was not replaced i could loose all coolant and hot engine could cause steam that would hinder my vision and leave me stranded along the road.the next morning after repairs were completed the check engine light came on and vehicle would not shift out of low.had to return vehicle to dealer for additional repairs.seems to me that the original freeze plug was badly designed and that gm had to develop a new type of seal in order to prevent accidents and damage..
My daughter drove the car to school and when school was out the car would not go into gear.my husband came and tried to get the car into gear but also had no luck.we had to have the car towed to the garage for work.i looked up recalls and noticed the cadillac has a recall for the same part.total cost for dealer parts and towing, installation and labor is $ 360.00.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. The contact was unable to remove the key from the ignition or turn the key to start the vehicle. The failure began to recur intermittently. The contact stated the gear shift lever had to be moved back and forth between various gears before removing the key from the ignition. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technicians stated the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced but the failure continued. The dealer was contacted a second time and the contact was informed the gear shift switch in the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne.while driving the vehicle it pulled to the right continously.the dealer repaired the vehicle on 2/15/07 and the failure recurred. The contact believed the failure was the torque converter.the failure mileage was 200.the current mileage was 7,500.
Dt*:the contact stated that while driving at 60 mph on dry roads, the vehicle pulled to the right, causing increased steering effort.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, where it was determined that the drive axle on the right side was too long for the vehicle base. Updated 07/25/06.
2006 lucerne suddenly left city roadway for no apparent reason.lucerne collided with two telephone poles positioned next to each other.delta v of collision between 22 and 25 mph.pole to driver side frame impact with driver side front wheel pushed into driver floor board so floor pushed against brake pedal post collision.no airbag deployed.pdof was near straight ahead or 12 o'clock.driver belt spooled out allowing driver's head to significantly deform the upper steering wheel rim.driver belt cut a notch in the b-pillar trim exiting the d-ring hole.gm looked at this car in litigation and agreed that the driver was belted.driver suffered jaw fractures, rib fractures and lung injury.driver died of collision related injuries 6 months post collision. General motors may dispute whether the death was related to the airbag non-deployment, but it can not dispute the relationship of the jaw and rib fractures to the non-deployment.download of sdm showed no "events recovered". That appears to be consistent with the 2006 cobalt ignition recall issue.the key in the ignition after the accident has a string of keys and other items hanging down several inches from the key in the ignition, also seemingly consistent with the 2006 cobalt ignition recall issue.driver would have been protected from serious injury be a timely airbag deployment in this collision according to biomechanics retained by the driver's family in litigation against general motors.this complainant suspects that the ignition switch in the 2006 is similar to the 2006 cobalt ignition switch, but does not have definitive confirmation of that. Complainant can send photographs of the damage to the lucerne and the lucerne bosch cdr crash data retrieval report by email or other means at your request.
My 2006 buick lucerne cxs v8 drivers seat is offset to the right of the steering wheel.upon personal investigation it was discovered that the oem supplier of the drivers side airbag had a lot of problems passing deployment specifications so as a last resort buick (gm) decided to move the seat instead.this is very uncomfortable to drive and i really wonder how well the airbag will deploy in a side impact crash.i've contacted gm and the dealer and get the runaround and was even told by one of the dealers service men that all cars are designed like that!
Heated/cooled seats stopped working.button on door lights up like they are on, but the heat/cool does not actually turn on.turns out problem is with connector at control module under passenger seat.connector is partially melted with black burn marks.this issue appears to be common on numerous gm vehicles (buick lucerne, cadillac dts, etc...)fuse does not blow, possible fire issue?
2006 buick lucerne with a list of concerns /problems**ccon the day of purchase the consumer'snoticed wind noise from both front doors and scratches on the windshield.the dealer attempted to buff out the scratches but was unsuccessful. Gm approved a windshield replacement.while driving the automatic driver's seat started moving up on it's own.the seat would not stop until it was as far forward as it could go.the cd player/radio refused to eject a cd, but after two days it finally released.the radio was also not working during this time.the consumer made a service appointment.trunk deck exploded.whenthe trunk release button was pushed there was a loud noise and the trunk flew open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The doors were readjusted to stop the wind noise.the technician indicated he couldn't find anything wrong with the seat.they also couldn't find anything wrong with the cd/radio.when the technician pressed the trunk release button on the key fob, the trunk deck exploded.the vehicle was left at the dealer to be serviced.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the trunk problem.
I been paying alot to fix this vehicle every thing keeps going wrong with it and i don't feel safe
When braking down hill the rotors warp making it almost impossible to stop in an emergency. Dealership paid for the second repair, car was about a year old, saying it was a defect in the design, lightweight rotors, calipers and brake pads. Luckily i live in an area that is flat. Every time i go out of town i have to deal with this fear and a repair job. An independent mechanic said i needed to upgrade to heavy duty rotors and calipers. Said this took care of the problem in a cadillac with the same problems. It's a 2k fix but dealership refuses to fix itbecause i am a woman am heavy on the brakes downhill and that his wife can't drive either. Also said they won't fix the defect due to me taking the car to an independent mechanic. I had to as they kept turning the rotors even though they can only be turned 2 x. This defect will eventually cause an accident but until then i just hope for the best.
The brakes when applying coming down hills make the front end shimmy and shake and it does not want to slow the vehicle down according to the brake pressure being applied. This is a very serious problem and i called the dealer here in butte, mt and they said she thinks this is the way it is. The problem has gotten somewhat worse as time and use of the brakes increase and it is becoming as major issue for us. We love the car but this needs to be looked at as soon as possible. The car has 45800 miles as of now. We purchased it new in 2006.

Steering and brakes fail at low speed turns and when going through puddles of water. Very dangerous. Unable to operate vehicle when raining. Unsafe conditions. Happens continuously.no specific date.
Experienced front end vibration on delivery.dealer did a wheel alignment but a slight vibration continued. Eventually it increased and i took it to a independent for balancing and rotation but the problem persisted. The dealer analyzed it as "defective" tires on the front and replaced them. As i drove home the car pulled to the right.took it back to the dealer and they switched the left front to the right and the right front to the left and claimed that would fix the problem.the car began to shimmy and vibrate badly.returned to the dealer and they found my right front brake defective.as i left the dealer i noticed that there still is a vibration.tried for 10 days to have gm talk with the dealer but they continually told me they had not been able to reach them. Because this car had the defective instrument panel that no one can see during daylight hours, front end and brake problems i deemed this buick lucerne unsafe and have sold it to a dealer.
Recently noticed when brakes are applied that the pedal will slowly sink to the floor causing my foot to be pressing the gas pedal at the same time.at a stop light it causes the anti brakes to come on and to proceed through the stop light.
During braking on any steep decline, the brakes shudder( vibrate) to the point that the steering wheel is hard to handle.the vehicle feels that control could be lost above speeds of 40 mph
Dt*: the contact stated the brakes vibrated going downhill. The braking was normal at all other times.the service dealer changed the rotors, but that did not remedy the problem.

When backing out of the driveway or when making turns a winding noise would occur. Checked the power steering fluid and noted it was low. Added power steering fluid and the winding noise went away. A week later the was difficult to steer and hard to make turns. More power steering fluid was added and upon further investigation it was noted a power steering fluid leak at the hose connector near the clamp and when the steering wheel was turned the fluid would leak out. I recently, gave this car to my son and i would be devastated if anything were to happen to him. He stated that the car started making this loud winding noise and it was hard for him to steer the car. I was made aware of the power steering recall for this make, year and model and had not received a recall. My concern is, is my vin# included in this recall? and if so what should we do?

My vehicle pulls to the right.it has done this since i purchased the car last summer.before i bought it the dealership put new tires and aligned the vehicle.it still slightly pulled to the right and has worsened since. My 2006 lucerne with v-6 engine has 80,000 miles on it. Recently it has developed a pronounced "bump} in the steering when i drive slowly in my driveway or in a parking lot. I have inspected the tie rods and other linkage under the car but see or feel nothing obviously amiss. My local tire store said this is characteristic of several gm cars he services. He said the problem is a worn plastic bushing in the steering column mechanism. Also, the instrument panel gauges are virtually impossible to read in the daytime!
Slow speed steering feels like something is catching, makes noise and does not feel right. Contacted dealer and they said there is a problem with the steering shaft but there is no recall on it so it would cost $300 plus to have it fixed, this is a gm defect from the factory that is common to the 2006 lucerne and needs to have a recall before someone gets in a bad accident.

Defectives airbags. The side airbags didn't go off when i was hit on my driver side door. I dont feel safe in that vehicle.i was making a left turn and a truck was. Stopped at a yield sign where the road came to a t. I had the right of way to make my turn. As soon as i was making the turn the other driver drove foward hitting the driver side of my car totaled my driver door. The airbags on either side of the car never went off.
Intermittent failure of windscreen wipers on a random basis
Attempted to open passenger side rear door and it did not open. Attempts to shake the handle did not work and locking/unlocking did not free up door. Passenger had to exit the car on the other side unable to exit on passenger side. Multiple complaints of the same found online where people cannot exit vehicle. Door latch issue in this model according to repair shop.
Was stopped in a traffic jam on the hwy when a full size van ran into the rear of my car pushing my car into the car in front of me. There was damage to the rear and front of my car. The airbags didn't deploy.
We can be driving down the road and the warning light for the hood comes on and says hood open ,it's not unlatched and we are wondering what would cause this?
Door does not open using either inner or outer door handle.i have seen many people complain about this issue on line.buick has had this problem on multiple cars for multiple years. Safety issue big time when one cannot get out of the car quickly because door won't open.there are only 2 people in my family and thus the rear doors are very seldom used.did not break from overuse, design problem.
Both rear doors do not open.the latches have failed.it is impossible to get out of the backseat, unless you crawl through the front.the latches have latched forever.the door does not open from the inside or outside.it started intermittently with one door then the next.they have been closed now for over year with being unable to open them.we have three children who will be stuck in the back if there is an accident.this needs to be under extended warranty.this is unacceptable and is a safety hazard.
The rear passenger doors of the car do not open.the automatic door locks have failed to work.themechanism design has failed because the manual door lock releases do not work.it is impossible to exit (or enter) the car from the backseat.the rear doors on both sides of the car do not open.there has been no accident and there has never been any prior damage.since more than two people often ride in this vehicle, this is an extreme safety hazard because it is impossible to access the back seat of the car (especially in an emergency) unless reaching over the front seat from inside the car.
Both rear passengers doors will not openfrom the inside or outside. This has been an recurring problem for about a year, it is such a shame how many complaints are filled for this particular defect and there is not any recalls.
Front passenger door latch has come loose multiple times while in the vehicle. It temporarily fixes itself, then randomly occurs again. Door will not open from the inside or outside. This is definitely a hazard in an accident. This isn't the first lucerne that i've driven with this problem and it's quite common. There is no safety lock on the door for this to keep happening.
Http://buickforums.com/forums/threads/25659-2006-lucerne-rear-door-lockmy buick has experienced the same problem experienced by others. The rear passenger door stopsworking. Apparently a mechanism problem that has been around for awhile. This would be a safety issue for passenger's in the rear seat who can not exit the car involved in an accident. With the volumeof people experiencing this problem, this is obviously a manufacturing defect.
The door locks don't operate as it was designed due to a binding lock rod grommet preventing the lock rod from actuating the lock. This was not due to any accident nor was the car traveling to initiate this problem.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. The contact stated that the rear passenger door failed to open without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,000.
The driver's side rear door will not open although it is unlocked.the inside door handle and the outside door handle both seem to function normally, but neither will open the door.the door isn't stuck.the child lock is not engaged. I have seen from online sources that this has been a problem for this vehicle for a long time.it presents a serious safety issue.
Unable to use passenger rear door from inside or out, weather door is locked or unlocked.
Rear door(s) will not open from either the outside handle or the inside. This is definitelynot related to the position of the child lock protection on the doors.it appears sporadically at first until, finally, nothing can be done to open the door(s).this is a extreme safety hazard if someone needs to get out of the car in a hurry (i.e. Fire, accident, etc.)one would have to crawl over the front seats to get out in this situation.this appears to be a common problem/complaint among buick lucerne owners (via the internet) and with various model years.
On may 13, 2016 i went to open the driver's side front door.the car was stationary.to my utter surprise, the handle came completely off!on may 25, i took it to reichard, dealership.since the car has only 54, 589 miles on it i asked the dealer for assistance in paying to fix it.he refused, saying "we get a lot of these.the manufacturer used plastic instead of metal and the plastic breaks."i asked the advisor to call general motors.she did and reported back to me that gm would not do anything. One of the advisors told me that i can expect the other three door handles to break as well.since the car only has 54k miles, how could that happen?i have three other cars and only drive the lucerne a few times a year, mainly on out-of-town trips.therefore, i have driven the car only about 5,500 miles per year.i consider this a defect in the design and manufacturing of this vehicle.this defect will cost me about $1,000. But most importantly, it could be a safety hazard if/when a i need to to enter the car and when someone has to be quickly extracted from the car!also, a few friends and complete strangers who own buick lucernes have told me that i can expect to have transmission problems with this car.have you had complaints with the transmissions?
While driving home on rereidental street( 31th near charles street) in rockford il. At 8:00pm,crossing over charles street while the intersection light in my direction; and east bound vehicle dis-regared the light and crossed into my path turning left going south causing damage to the entire vehicle from the tires to the bumper. The empact turning the vehicle ( 2006 buick lucrene 4 dr.) completely around. My main concern is that the air bags ( driver/pass) did not deport....question to you is there any steps i can take to settle this issue for compensation..the vehicle was a total lost.
Rear passenger door will not open from inside or outside when handles are activated. It will unlock with fob and stem at door but is stuck shut. Appears to be locked all the time. Would be unsafe if one was in a emergency situation. It happen when i stopped and was trying to exit. It happen on a highway during a stop on shoulder.
Driver door handle breaks just like the door handle on the cadillac.why was cadillac recalled but not buick? let's be fair both are gm cars. Clearly a defectaccording to service dept. There are so many.
The rig, even after unlocking all other doors.this is a safety hazard as back seat passengers could be trapped inside the car in the event of an accident or fireht rear door locks and will not open from inside or outside.this is a safety hazard as back seat passengers could be trapped inside after an accident or a fire.
I lost engine power as i was driving on i75 approximately 16 miles south of venice florida. One of the tires exploded and the whole wiring system was destroyed due to the tire explosion, as well as the back bumper. My vehicle was towed to the buick dealer in venice florida. Repair costs including towing and rental car for the period my vehicle was being repaired elevated to approximately $1600.00. This does not include replacement of the back bumper which would cost an additional $1400.00 per buick's quote.i was informed of a recall by buick due to the exact reasons that led to my accident and related costs.general motors is declining responsibility whereas i did experience the problems listed in the reasons for recall number 14299.
Unable to open rear passenger door.tried from both inside and outside, tried manually unlocking and using remote to unlock.door will not open.afraid to use back seat now in case of emergency.
Unable to open rear passenger door. Tried from both inside and outside, tried manually unlocking and using remote to unlock. Door will not open. Afraid to use back seat now in case of emergency.
The rear passenger and/or driver side door(s) will not open from the inside or the outside. It is as though the locking mechanisms are not engaging either door.
Back door will not open inside or out side just stopped working !!!some one could get stuck in the back because door will not open safety issue !!!!!!!! i was told gm was told about this problem and had no recall because im not the only person this has happened too !!!! this is not fair its a safety issue that should of been fixed with a recall !!!!
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. When the vehicle was parked, the rear doors failed to open. The contact stated that it took four people to open the rear doors. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000. Ma 10/5 updated 12/04/2017

My rear doors will not open from the inside or the outside.my 4 door vehicle has been forced to be a 2 door coupe. I have 80,000 miles on the vehicle.
The right rear door is unable to be opened from either inside or outside. It remains that waysince the dealer wants $320 to do the work. The left rear had the same problem but that was covered under warranty when the car was relatively new. This is a safety concern. Obviously there are a lot of people with the same problem. Why is this not covered by a recall? my wife's cousin had a lucerne with the same issues. She got rid of hers. As soon as we can afford another car we will be doing the same thing. And i guarantee it won't be a gm!!!!

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Driving westbound on illinois rt-7 towards lockport, illinois when vehicle went out of control and into oncoming lane nearly causing a head-on collision.upon inspection, it was determined that the front struts rusted through at the mounting flanges whereby the front suspension collapsed falling down on the left front tire destroying the new michelin tire throwing the car out of control and into the oncoming lane. The car is garage kept with little to no rust anywhere but on the struts. General motors refused to cover the repairs as the car was out of warranty!i have owned other cars for thirty years with a lot more miles and never had such a catastrophic failure of a suspension system.even old pick-up trucks last a lot longer.this defect is sure to cause many accidents and possible fatalities across the country.pictures are available showing the defective struts.

Dt*: the contact stated while accelerating at various speeds, the vehicle pulled to the right.the dealership aligned the vehicle 4 times, replaced the tires and installed a 5 mm thick shim to repair the problem.although the repairs were made, the vehicle still pulled to the right. Updated 10/4/2006 -
Dt*:the contact stated while driving 20mph or more, the front of the vehicle continuously pulls to the right side without warning.the vehicle was inspected by a dealer who performed several alignments, rotated the tires, and rebuilt the steering rack and pinion.afterwards, the front suspension problem persisted and the dealer was unable to determine the cause.the manufacturer was alerted.
Vehicle driver complained of squeaking sound from left front of vehicle. Inspected vehicle and discovered left front strut assembly had collapsed. The strut housing failed at the coil spring support allowing the strut housing to contact the tire wearing the tread on the tire below minimum safety specifications. Vehicle is equipped with magnetic ride suspension. Strut assembly had to be replaced.
Driving home after accepting delivery of my vehicle i noticed a front end vibration. I took it to the dealer and was told that all lucernes do this and that i should drive it 500 miles before returning.i insisted that they fix it and when the car was returned to me it no longer vibrated. The paper work revealed that they had performed a wheel alignment and referred to service bulletin nr. 000310007g.
I own a 2006 buick lucerne. I took on 6-11-16 to dealer had my tires replaced. Ever since, all four new tires are losing air. Tire pressure light comes on all the time. The chrome plating is flaking off the rims, losing the seal. Dealer has re-sealed thefour twice since 6-11-16 only 51,000 miles on this car. 2016 is thefirst the tire pressure light has ever come on. Corrosion is aproblem. However, the batch of chrome plating was faulty. Updated 08/08/16
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne.while driving between 20-50 mph, the vehicle pulled to the right.the vehicle was repaired by the dealer five times, which included an alignment, the tires and rims were changed, and a power steering part was replaced.yet, the failure still occurred.the failure mileage was 25 and current mileage was 24,000.updated 02-15-08.the dealer stated installed xm sat radio.updated 02/15/08
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. The contact stated that while traveling 55 mph, the tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact mentioned that the tires would loose air pressure. The failure occurred on eight different occasions. The vehicle was taken for a diagnosis where it was informed that the beads on the rims were deteriorating. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 60,300. Updated 08/12/14*lj
The passenger side rear door does not unlock from the inside or the outside. My daughter was in the back seat and told me she could not get out. I got out of the car and attempted to open the door from the outside with no success. I tried the electric lock button on the driver side and passenger side without success.this is a very dangerous situation and have read numerous complaints from many individuals. It appears gm has a faulty locking mechanism.
Back doors are stuck locked. Neither door will open. Have two kids that have to ride back there and if we get in an accident it could be fatal if they are back there and can't get out!!
Rear passenger side door was opened and closed after entering, once we tried to open that door it no longer opened from the inside or the outside. The same thing happened to the rear driver's side door the next day, now neither of the rear doors open from the inside or the outside. The child safety locks were not on prior to this happening so it couldn't have had an effect on why this happened as we were able to exit the vehicle without having to open them from the inside and outside, now it won't open at all from either side. There are 3 children always sitting in the back and have to jump over the center console from the front and this is also a hazard in case of a fire or accident if trying to exit the car.

Vehicle has numerous issues over the years.80k miles currently, tires leak air because of corrosion on the rims, this is my 2nd set of tires not counting the set the vehicle came with, breaks have been done twice, rotors have been replaced, both front door handles have come off, problems with the leveler, now door locks lock/unlock while driving but not just once (might happen 6-8 times).local dealer & service station have performed repairs/replacements. Already been under 2 recalls.
Suddenly the drivers side front door stopped unlocking. The door will not open because the locking mechanism continues to lock and unlocking quickly preventing you from opening the door. The door will not unlock manually, using inside lock button or by remote. This happens at anytime so you never know if you will be able to get out of the car. This is causing drivers to climb to the passenger side for exit preventing a quick exit in an emergency. Many many complaints have been filed for this safety issue and no recall on the mechanism that operates the doors leaving owners with a huge expense.
The doors, specifically rear doors, in this vehicle get stuck in an open or closed position. It appears to be a defect that causes the door latch to stay in the closed position, trapping children or other passengers in the back seat, or preventing the door from closing. From internet research, this is a common issue with the lucerne (not just 2006) and the lacrosse. First we had the passenger rear door get stuck closed. After a month or so of unlocking and locking the doors, it started working again randomly, but a few months later, became stuck closed again with no trigger. We continued to use the driver's side rear door, but about a year later, it got stuck open. At first the door wouldn't open for my son, but i pulled on the handle from the outside while he pushed from the inside, and we got it open. When i tried to close the door, it bounced back. The latch is stuck in the closed position. The child safety lock is not engaged. The doors will not open from inside or outside the vehicle. The locks function normally manually, with the key fob, and by pressing the driver's button. The vehicle was parked and off during all incidences.
This electrical problem began about the first of the year when the electric door locks started to cycle while driving. It has since migrated to turning off the cruise control and causing the headlights to flash off and on. The remote start will start the car but will shut down the motor after a few seconds. These problems continue during every operation.i have been informed by the dealer that it is a p140 code and will take about 3 to 4 hours to diagnose where the problem at $80.00 per hr. Plus repair.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. While the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was not available.
I pulled up to the back of the building where i work to park.as i took my foot off the accelerator to brake, the car shot forward out of control.putting brakes to the floor did not stop it. The building stopped it.when i backed away, the car shot backward out of control and stopped when it hit a storage unit.the local buick dealer conducted a thorough inspection of the 2006 buick lucerne and could not find out what caused the accident.
2006 buick lucerne.consumer writes in regards to vehicle acceleration issues.the consumer stated the vehicle accelerated at 90 mph, as she was pulling out of a drive-thru. In order to avoid going into traffic, she turned into a vacant lot, went down an embankment and totaled the vehicle. The consumer was in the hospital for five days.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph when coming to a stop, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. On one occasion, when the contact applied the brake and shifted into drive, the vehicle suddenly reverse. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who could provide no diagnostic codes but stated that the engine was causing the problem. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000 and the current mileage was 28,591.
- the contact stated that the 2006 buick lucerne would not accelerate after coming to a stop and trying to go forward. The vehicle didn't stall, but when puttingthefoot on the accelerator the vehicle would not move.this happened intermittently.the contact took the vehicle to the dealership, and they found nothing wrong with the vehicle.they informed the contact that thecheck engine light didn'tcome on ,and they could notduplicate the problem. Driver's mirror does not adjust adequately to view the blind spot to the driver's left rear.the passenger side mirror adjusts correctly. The driver's side "travels" about 1/2 less.i narrowly avoided colliding with another vehicle while changing lanes. The other drivers horn alerted me to the problem.other buick lucernes in the dealers showroom have the same "problem".
I cannot adjust the driver's side exterior mirror to a safe position for viewing passing traffic.i am 6'2", and mirror cannot be raised high enough or far enough to the left to safely cover adjoining lane.dealer checked similar models in inventory; said they all have same limitation.i have never had a car with such an extreme limitation on adjustment of the outside mirror for the driver. This is very unsafe for all driving conditions.failure is continuous.
-the contact stated that his 2006 buick lucerne driver side exterior mirror doesn't adjust outward or high enough for the contact to seetheblind spots.the contact stated that the driver'sside mirror should be able to see three lanes over, and his mirrors on this vehicle didn't do that.the contact tookthe vehicle to the dealership, and they informed him that theywere aware of the problem of other complaints, but theycouldn'tdo anything about the way the vehicle was designed.the contact stated called the manufacturer, and was given case# 71-495201943.the failure mileage was 3,000 and, the current mileage was 6,200. 2006 buick lucerne with a list of concerns /problems**ccon the day of purchase the consumer'snoticed wind noise from both front doors and scratches on the windshield.the dealer attempted to buff out the scratches but was unsuccessful.
When i wash my windshield, the drivers side does not dispense fluid properly.the fluid pools on the lower left side of the windshield rather than in front of the driver.this requires operation much longer than normal.in an ice storm on february 14th i had to refill the system every 25 miles.the dealer has replaced the left wiper assembly.the same condition exists with the new assembly.
My tires keep leaking air. I was informed it was my rims are flaking causing razor cuts in my tires. About 2 weeks ago the front right tire started leaking, then a week ago the left one started leaking and a day or two after that the rear passenger tire is now leaking also.
The contact owns 2006 buick lucerne. The contact stated all fours wheel chrome rims were flaking causing the tires to deflate. The tire pressure warning light continued to illuminate indicating there was a failure with the tires.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer, nor the manufacturer notified. The failure mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the driver's side tire became detached from the vehicle unexpectedly. The vehicle hydro-planed three times, swerved off the road and then crashed into a tree. There were no injuries.a police report was filed of the incident. The air bags failed to deploy with the force of the impact. The vehicle was towed to an independent auto facility temporarily. The vehicle had been previously diagnosed by an independent tire center that the entire frame was corroded. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect.the approximate failure mileage was 168,000.
Manufacture's supplied chrome wheels have defective chrome plating allowing the chrome to flake off breaking the seal with the tire resulting in the tire losing air pressure and subsequent drive-ability problem.
The left-front chrome plated wheel on my 2006 buick lucerne had a stress crack develop over time. At some point in the past there must have been some impact because there was a slight flattening of the rim, but the day the rim failed i hadno impact with any road hazard whatsoever; the low tire pressure indicator came on and i was losing air fast. Once i could get in to have the wheel checked the hairline crack, inside the rim, was discovered. I purchased a new wheel through my buick dealer, and filed a claim with buick for some amount of compensation. In my opinion a wheel of this expense should not fail in this manner. My previous vehicle, another buick, was driven for 14 years and 427,000 miles, and i never had to replace a wheel. The wheels on my lucerne were produced in china ("china" is stamped inside the rim) and are of obvious poor material and quality - are they tested to meet d.o.t. Standards? buick has denied my claim, based on the "age" of the wheel. I am not just concerned with the cost of the wheel, but also with the safety of these wheels. I drive 400-500 miles a week for work monday through thursday; i am concerned of losing a wheel at 65-70 m.p.h. Have there been any other problems reported like this? i strongly feel this need to be checked into, especially now, with taxpayer-based loan money having gone to gm and with more on the way, gm needs to make sure they will stand by their products and more importantly, their loyal customers.
The contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. The contact stated that all four chrome rims were flaking and leaking. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light illuminated and the tires became deflated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was advised that the rims needed to be scraped. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

The tires continue to lose air requiring frequent refills.i am told that the problem is with the wheels and that i will have to buy new ones at over two thousand dollars.causes the car to steer hard and wear on the tires.
2006 buick lucerne chrome wheels failure. I started to experience flat tires constantly. Took the car in to a tire shop, i was told that the chrome wheels are corroded to the point that they will not seal probably. I informed gm about the issue. I was told that the car was not under warranty and gm would not replace the wheels. The last time i drove the car the front passenger tire deflated causing me to loose control which resulted with me going in the medium. The car has not been driven since. The mileage is 80,000. There needs to be a safety recall done on the chrome rims. Gm knows that this a problem and will not solve the issue.
Wheels leaking air while parked and while driving .parked in my driveway and driving on local roads
Chrome wheels corroding in valve stem openings causing tires to leak air pressure. Valve stem opening corroding away and not enough material left to seal valve stem in place!
While entering a curve on the east -west connector in frankfort, ky, my wife lost control of our 2006 buick lucerne. The speed limit was 45 and she was going no more than 35-40. She was unable to steer the car and bring it under control. The right front part of our car hit a guardrail, she thought that she was able to bring it under control momentarily, then lost control again. The car spun around and hit the cement barrier, where the car stopped. Damage was done to the right rear and the right rear wheel wascompletely severed from the vehicle.we had never had problems with the car before, although several days earlier, when i drove the car, i noticed several times that the car did not seem to respond immediately to my controls. The car has been serviced regularly and had approximately 18,000 miles.fortunately, my wife was not injured and no other vehicles were involved. We have approximately $10,000 in damages to the car.our primary concern is that the wheel was completely severed from the car. The tire is not flat, but the wheel separated at the hub (i think that is the correct term). Since this is a new car (2006 was the first model), we wonder whether there may be some type of defect? we can't believe that the wheel would have been completely removed from the vehicle (intact) when she was never going more than 35-40 and, most likely, slower than that when she hit the cement barrier.if necessary, we can provide a copy of the accident report, a list of repairs to be made on the vehicle, and pictures that we took of the vehicle.please let us know if you need additional information. Thank you for your consideration.

2006 buick lucerne wheels, leaking needs to be replaced.
