My dashboard started to separate from the drivers side and is going over to passengers side airbag. Half way there now.i'm worried about the airbag going off when i'm driving. The dealer says it cannot be fixed that it needs to have a whole new dashboard put in. I think this is happening to alot of the buick lesabres. It just keeps going little by little everyday over to the passenger side and i'm worried. I don't think i should have to be the one to pay for this product that was faulty in the first place.

Dashboard is buckled all the way across. Keeps getting worse and i'm afraid the airbag on the passenger side will deploy causing me to have an accident. Iam afraid to drive it but it is my only means of transportation. I would appreciate any help with this matter. Buick really should consider a recall for this before someone gets hurt or worse yet killed. Thanks

While driving at highway speeds a vehicle started to back out of a driveway. When i attempted to honk my horn, it would not work. This created a very hazardous condition for me and the occupants of the car! i have checked both the fuse and the horn relay and find no defects. The horn works only intermittently at best and is not reliable in a dangerous situation.

There is water coming into the back floor board behind drivers seat of my 2000 bucik lesabre. Unable to find where leak is and now i have smell i cannot get rid of. The water is even there when no rainfall present.

On two occasions so far in 2018, my buick engine would start itself.once when i closed the glove box and another time when i closed the passenger door.both times the ignition key was absent and the car was stationary.my guess is ignition switch.[xxx] - mechanical engineer & college auto instructor.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle lost power and would not restart. In addition, the low fuel indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact was unaware of the mechanic's diagnosis. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 98,000. Consumer stated it would happen at any speed and had nothing to do with fuel gauge. Car was fixed replaced the engine harness connector. Updated 11/20/18

There was a clicking sound on the right passenger side for about 30 seconds coming down my driveway and then it stopped. I thought maybe a small tree branch got stuck in my wheel well, so i continued onto the highway and drove about 6 miles and stopped at an animal shelter. White smoke started to come from under the car so i popped the hood and got out just as black smoke started and as was going to open the hood the flames were coming out from under the hoodand someone used two fire extinguishers and then two water hoses to put out the fire. The car is a total loss and i don't understand what happened, because it was in excellent condition. Someone at the scene thought it was an electrical problem. The car had been in excellent condition and very clean under the hood. And i had it serviced regularly.

Starting early june my son called me to inform me that the buick was stalling out on him all the time. He said that he could be driving at any speed and the car would just shut off, causing all electrical, steering, and brakes to not work. He attends school in western pennsylvania in the mountains and this worried me. I had the vehicle serviced and each time was diagnosed with different things and nothing fixed the problem. I have since switched vehicles with him for his safety and have contacted my local buick dealership to find that the ignition cylinder is the cause of the failure that the ignition cylinder is periodically loosing connection to the key which has a chip in it (quits talking to), and shuts the vehicle off. Like an alarm feature. The dealership informed me that this has been an on going problem with the lesabre and other vehicles for quite a while. In order to fix it i will have to purchase a new ignition cylinder, possibly a couple of keys, have them sent to a locksmith, get them keyed to the cylinder, then install the new ignition cylinder. Yet it is not one of the vehicles listed on the gm ignition recall list. How can such a safety issue go overlooked and also unreported. The vehicle is an excellent vehicle while running but i feel that gm should face the fact and take ownership for all of these ignition failures not just a few makes and models but all gm manufactured vehicles. This is an extreme safety issue, my son said he was nearly rearended when the vehicle shut off on him a number of times at different speeds while trying to pull off the road for safety. Or he was stuck holding up the flow of traffic with people beeping at him while he had to wait in the middle of the road till the car would start again. Pretty scary!!!thank you,! and please look out for the little guy and hold gm responsible.

Consumer feels that vehicle's main computer module is defective.if vehicle is driven over50 mile distance, all the various warning chimes will sound. The air bag light will illuminate and all doors will lock.dealer unable to determine exact cause of problem.ph

I have a 2000 buick lesabre that dies at random driving down road, sitting at traffic light, basically when ever it feels like.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lasabre. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to merge to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle as it resumed normal function. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection and they stated that there was a dead cell in the battery and the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was 139,386.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. While driving 50 mph, the engine lost power during acceleration and the battery and security warning lights illuminated. The vehicle restarted and the gears had to be changed before the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the battery and alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the key needed to be reprogrammed. The remedy failed to repair the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000. The vin was not available.

I turn the ignition over didn'tit did not even start yet a loud went boom and up under the hood was blazing with fire than my doors locked i could not get out i had to kick the opposite side and then i got out i had to call sleep fire rescue squad the fire was so bad it was going up under my carport and almost caught my roof on fire and almost did and did a little bit

So please help is there in defects or recalls for this vehicle buick 2000 lesabre??????????

Electrical system isn't working, causing all the components on the dashboard to malfunction.also, brake light comes on/ horn keeps blowing, and the computer system isn't working.

We own a 2000 buick lesabre. It was given to us by my father in-law who purchased it brand new in 2000.both of us have always had the car serviced at buick dealerships for all maintenance including oil changes.we have had several electrical failures, fuel injector problems and now the transmission went out with only 45,000 miles. My husband was driving to the office and the car all of a sudden slowed down and then came to a stop. He described it as someone shifting the car to first gear from fourth.however, the car is an automatic.luckily, there was no one immediately behind him so he didn't get hit.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. While parked, smoke appeared from the rear passenger side where the battery was located. The contact exited the vehicle and had the battery removed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the battery was tested, but the cause of the failure could not be found. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were unknown.

Consumer stateswhile the car was running a fire started under the hood.tsprior to fire vehicle lost electric power and warning lights on dash flashed on.air temp sensor, air intake duct, inner and outer air cleaner assembly replaced. Washer reservoir replaced.pcm repgorammed.

Two window motors failed.the first one occurred two months after the 36 month warranty and the second three months later.*sc

As i was driving my buick lesabre 2000 my windows lock up on me it was a very hot summer so the electrical windows with no go up and down. The engine is bad. 1490000 miles. Electrical system is problems. The car wiring is loose and can be a dangerous. I tried to pull window down and repair its manually frozen with no power. My seat are uncomfortable with hard iron wire.

Two complaints. One-coolant leaking on hot engine parts from defective intake manifold plenum. Two- car stalls on occasion while driving resulting in no power steering or brakes.

I had problem with windows not rolling up and down. After i took my buick to pep boys 3325 124th ave nw coon rapids mn electric mechanic found out that my window power switch is damaged after rain storm. Later i experienced the following problems with vehicle: 1 strange engine noise while running 2 pushing forward once release foot from brake. Pep boys mechanic looked at all these problems and told me everything looks ok but i need to get engine diagnostic done with pep boys. I got schedule for that. Meanwhile i ended up in car traffic problem because of fire of my vehicle.

The driver's side window intermittantly stopped working and the motor was replaced while the vehicle was still under warranty.now the rear right side passenger window stopped working one day after it had been rolled down.it was looked at by the buick dealer, and i was told it would cost well over $500.00 to fix the window regulator and motor.i asked them at the time if there was a recall on the window motors, since i had already had to have one motor replaced, i was told no.i have since had to pull the window up manually, and tape it so it does not fall down.(not a pretty site). I feel this is a problem and am afraid it will happen to another window and will be forced also to fix that one at a hefty price.i believe there should be a recall on the window motor mechanisms.

Transmission no longer shifts into 3rd or overdrive. With shifter in overdrive and in stopped position once you take your foot off the brake to begin acceleration the torque converter slams to a stop and the engine shuts off. Transmission fluid full at all times, engine warmed up. Repeated stalling, repeated tachometer quits. Repeated engine quits when you place in overdrive from neutral. Must start movement by placing in lower gears 1 2 or 3. This transmission never shifts out of second gear. Put it on code analyzer and got 2 codes that indicated pc solenoid torque converter solenoid issues. Seems like these 2000 buicks have recurring defects and gm won't standby their product. Why on earth would a company that designs cars ever put a battery under a car seat. One spark with hydrogen gas under that seat could kill an infant in a car seat if it exploded.. Come on!!!

I have replaced all 4 window regulators twice. I have done research, and it appears many have the same issue. Buick claims to sell "luxury" this is far from luxury and is unsafe! driving 65mph and the windows just go down....then won't go back up! my car had to sit outside with both back windows down!

When left passenger side power window was let down consumer heard a crackingnoise. The plastic window regulator broke.dealership replaced the part.also, dealer informed consumer that this was a common problem with this part, but they were still replacing it with the same part. The same defect also occurred on the right passenger's window.the outside temp sensor failed and as a result the indicator read the incorrect temperature. *nlm

Pressed power window switch to lower window and glass fell into door cavity. Switch became inactive. Glass would not move.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. After several attempts, the vehicle was able to start. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000. Updated 1/12/16

I am on my 6th window assembly replacement.why would they want to keep putting the same defective parts back into your car?the last one i had to pay for at $400.the other 4 were under warranty, the first at 17,000.now, i am going to not have this one repaired as i cannot afford it.guess when it's 125 degrees in my car in the summer i'll just have to open all the doors to cool it off! can't put the windows down!

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. The contact stated that the electrical system in the vehicle became inoperable. The contact stated that the security and engine warning indicators illuminated. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the bracket module and coals were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 137,000.

Car windows and gas gauge haven't worked in a long time however now the car will not start consistently even with a brand new battery. You have to charge the battery every time to start it. Ready to get rid of this worry.

Gas gauge dose not work.

The key comes out of the ignition cylinder lock. I have had my key replaced twice. The security light comes on and the car dash says unknown driver. Even though i have had the keys replaced which, when aaa had a locksmith come out to make me a key, the technician says that the cylinder lock had been filed down. With this possibly being the issue it is very dangerous for me and 8 year old daughter. The key should never come out of the cylinder lock and now my mechanic is talking like this has likely caused problems for the bcm. I am needing some assistance in this matter. The car starts when it wants to and if it doesn't start it takes a couple of days then resets. This is a big headache when this is the only transportation i have to get to work and take my daughter to school.

The power windows failed 6 times.

2000 buick lesabre positive battery terminal became corroded resulting in battery failure. *mrthe battery terminal broke and caused battery acid to leak onto the floor under the rear seat.

Vehicle experiencing problem with positive connector to the battery causing shortages and loss of power. Dealer notified, and repairs were being made. Feel free to prvide further.

Dt: the contact stated the battery leaked fumes and fluid inside the car while driving.there was an odd smell that lingered in the vehicle.she took the vehicle to a service shop and reported the odor.the mechanic suggested it may be the catalytic converter.she had no repairs performed at that time.afterwards, the engine would not start.further investigation led to the discovery of battery leakage in the back seat area.a new battery was purchased from a dealer and replaced.there have been no further problems at this time. Updated 12/07/05.

Auto battery acid leak which has eaten a hole in floor of car in passenger compartment. Battery is located in passenger compartment under rear seat. Acid leaked from damaged battery post over period of time. Due to location of battery it is only checked when car fails to start due to battery failure. Dt: the battery connection broke out of the battery where the battery connections weremounted .this battery was located rear right side of the back seat passenger compartment.this was discovered after attempting to restart the vehicle, itwould not restart.consumer pulled rear seat out, and could visibly see the battery connections which were loose from the battery and had evidently broken loose form the battery itself.consumer believed this happened over a period of time because battery fluidleaked on the floor and pierced through the metal floorboard of the vehicle. There was a visible hole about one and a half inches in diameter.took car to a buick dealer to buy another battery , and dealer noted this was a problem with particular battery which was thought to be manufactured in asia, and this was a common failure.dealer would not offer any cost assistance or free remedy for this problem.consumer bought another battery and paid out of pocket forit. Has not contactedmanufacturer.

Car died, got a jump from aaa, after numerous tries car started, car was not acting right, driving out of the parking lot car died, called to have aaa come back, while waiting fumes were coming out of the back seat where the battery is located, mechanic arrived and removed the rear seat to find the battery was leaking from the positive terminal the main positive lead had corroded off the battery, and fumes were coming out, he immediately disconnected the battery there was substantial acid inside the car the body structure was damaged from the acid.this was an ac delco battery.i called gm and ac delco this was an original battery.they didn't want to correct the problem. So i went to a buick dealer and bought a new battery and put it in .i own two buicks 97 and 2000 this is the third timeac delco battery has failed my 97 has substantial damage in the engine compartment from acid that leaked.and i had to replace the main positiveterminal end twice because it rotted off.ac delco needs to address this problem with their batteries they told me that its due to heat and vibration that their batteries fail . That to me is admission and that they know they have a problem and they are not fixing the problem.

Battery failure.

Batteryis mounted under the rearpassenger seat without a protective cover to prevent the leakage of gas. In the event of a broken vent tube or cracked battery case, there is no protection for passengers from explosive gases or leaking acid. The battery should be enclosed in a protective box. There is a current recall on other vehicles for leaking batteries. *ml

The battery went dead while the vehicle was parked.the consumer called aaa to jump start the vehicle.the consumer drove the vehicle to a service station and turned the vehicle off.the doors would not open manually.the consumer had to slide the key through the window to the service mechanic to open the door.once the battery was replaced, the door opened.*sc

Dealership informed the consumer that the hole in the rear floor board was due to battery acid leaking into the vehicle. Theproblem was not resolved.

The vehicle's battery was installed under the rear seat inside the cabin.the battery was leaking sulfuric acid which caused the consumer to become very sick.the sulfuric acid had burned through thefloorboard.the consumer was unsure of what caused theillness, but discovered the leaking battery on 10/02/02.the manufacturer claimed no responsibility, stating that the battery was properly vented.*mrthere was a clicking noise when the vehicle was started, the battery vents were flimsy and not securely fastened to the battery vent openings.the vibrations wouldeasily shake the vent tubes from the battery.the consumer requested reimbursement for the monies spent on the repair of the faulty battery venting system.*scc

Loss of power in 2000 buick lesabre.*mrthe battery is installed under the rear passenger seat, therefore the consumer was unable to see the corrosion the ultimately led to the vehicle losing power.

Vehicle was parkedin drivewaywhen engine compartment burst into flames, burning consumer's house down. Defect possibly related to battery cable.

At the first filling of gas tank, fuel came out of bad gasket and spilled fuel causing wicked bad fuel smell through out interior of car. Heater has never operated properly. The only way that you can be comfortable in cold weather is to operate manually. The alternator has always had a very noticeable and annoying hum at slow speeds. The alternator has been replaced twice, with no improvements in the noises. Power assist failed and as a result i lost all braking and a strong odor developed inside the car. This is ok now and along with the gas tank is the only things that have been repaired.

The horn button have to be pushed in the direct center to actuate the horn.if a person is not aware of this they may not activate the horn when desired. Also, all power windows are sluggish/motors sounds rough and noisy during operation.

Consumer cannot blowhorn,it takes too much pressure to make the horn blow.also,it is not necessary alwaysto look in the same place tomakehornblow.

Driver unable to sound the horn due to location of the horn and hard to depress it. Yh

Experiencing ongoing problem with horn; unable to activate horn when needed unless extreme pressure is applied. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that nothing could be found.

It takes to much effort to blow horn, you have to pound on it.

The design of the horn makes it difficult to the driver to use the horn for emergency. Yh

Consumer attempted to blow horn in a potentially dangerous situation, but the horn did not blow, consumer states there is one small area which will activate the horn, it is hard enough to blow if the car is stationary and the horn is receiving full attention.

When consumer applies her hand on the steering wheelhorn itdoesn't work.she would have to ball up her fist, and apply heavy pressure in order to hear the horn.

Horn will blow intermittenly,or not blow at all. Contacted dealer ,cannot duplicate problem.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.the contact stated that the vehicle vibrated and made a clunking noise when the gears were shifted.he suspected transmission failure and planned to take the vehicle to a dealer.he also stated that the fuel system gauge displayed the incorrect amount of fuel in the tank and the horn failed to sound when pressed.the vehicle has not been repaired.the speed was unknown.the failure mileage was 85,600 and current mileage was 98,145.

Horn is very difficult to activate, an abnormal amount of pressure is required.*mjs

It is very difficult to get the horn to work. An extraordinary amount of pressure has to be applied in the right spot.this is a dangerous situation as ihad to honk the horn suddenly and i had difficulty doing so, barely avoiding an accident.

Consumer indicated the horn was very difficult to press.the horn was replaced 3 times, and the problem recurred.consumer believed that in an emergency the horn would not blow.

The horn of the buick lesabre i drive kept going off in the middle of the night and i took it for repair.they told me that a computer module was bad and if it was not repaired that the airbag could go off while i was driving and possibly cause an accident.they told me the price would be over $900 for the repair and i protested that if it was a safety and computerized module defect it should be repaired free of charge.marcie ochoa with buick customer assistance, 1-800-521-7300 file # c02428638, was contacted by gary ruffner uwua sec-treasurer, and said she talked with service manager bob and was not due to a defect on the vehicle.it is something that just went out.she also said because this vehicle was less than a year old it had 42,678 miles on it and would not be covered by warranty and they would not provide any assistance.i feel that this is a safety issue and is a defect that any consumer should not have to pay for and there should be a recall if what they said is true that "the module defect can cause the air bag to deploy while someone is driving and cause an accident..

Whileapplying the horn intermittently the horn will stay on until disconnectedthe fuse.please fill in additional information. Dealer is aware of problem.

Horn sensor is difficult to locateonsteering wheel inan emergency situation.the horn becomes much more difficult to locate during night travel.

When trying to makehorn work it will not work.had pressed real hard oversteering wheel cover, but will hardly work. Had taken vehicle to dealer.dealerreplacedcover twice, butproblem still exixts.please provide more information.

Dt: the horn button in the center of steering wheel required excessive effort to activate the horn.the consumer had to bear down with both hands in order to get the horn to work. Noticed this on april 15, 2005.

While trying to sound horndriver noticed it was very difficult to operate horn assembly. Problem wasrepaired by dealer, but problem still exists.the new horn assembly that was installed to ease the horn sounding did not solve the problem. The problem is a vey serious safety problem that requires attention.

Weather was below zero (-20 to -30) for several days before and including january 30, 2004.my 2000 buick lesabre custom refused to start two days previous, so on the evening of january 29, i poured a bottle of iso-heet into the gas tank and then plugged the headbolt heater in overnight. The next morning (jan. 30), i got into the lesabre to start it to go to work.when i turned the key, i heard a click and then boom! it sounded like something had exploded under the hood on the driver's side.smoke began rolling out from under the hood.i grabbed my belongings and got out of the car quickly.i was shocked, but not hurt. I heard a noise under the hood like the draft from a fire.i called 911 and stood back about 40 feet from the vehicle.by the time the fire department arrived, there were flames leaping out 5 feet high from the space between the hood and the fender on the driver's side.the fire marshall inspected the damage afterwards.he said that it appeared that a fuel line had ruptured.that is all he said.that does not explain to me what exploded.the battery on a 2000 lesabre is under the back seat, and it was intact after the fire. The fire fighters had removed the back seat and cut the battery cables, so i saw that it was okay.the whole engine was burned up.the car was a total loss.i lost two days of work making arrangements to buy another car. The insurance company only paid me $10,998.00 for the loss. I had to pay $2839.56 out of my own pocket to pay off the car loan.(worst of all, i had to go to my brother, a car salesman, and buy a [xxx] ford!i want my beautiful lesabre back!)p.s.: although the engine compartment was totally burned up, the firewall performed beautifully.after the fire, i was able to enter the car and remove papers from the glove box that were untouched by the fire or the heat.except for the soot from the fire fighters' boots and a smoky smell, the passenger compartment was otherwise unharmed.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information

Come on!!!

Engine shuts off while driving, so far, only at lower speeds.sometimes, by putting in neutral and turning key, engine starts again.other times, it has to set for a while.put new battery in 11/7/2013. Problem persisted.three auto repair shops, including a buick dealership, have checked it out, but it does not die on them in the amount of time its in their possession so i was told there was nothing they could do. Typically, it happens after it is driven at least 20 miles. Came very close to being rear-ended as i was unable to pull off the road enough to be out of the way on a road with hills and blind spots.

Leaking oil onto exhaust manifold causing burning smell and smoke which permeates passenger compartment.this car has the 3.8 series ll engine which has a recall for this problem on the regal but not the lesabre.this is definitely a problem on the lesabre too.why is it not included in the recall?often happens while driving but the last time was when i had just pulled into my driveway and smoke poured out from the hood.using the recirculating air setting seems to help smoke from entering the cabin.why is this not included in the factory recall!!

While driving this vehicle the bolts on my rear brake pad broke in half and the car was unable to move forward, had to drive my car backwards home luckily i was only a block away from home. The 2 front windows will not roll up or down, keep having to replace the hose that leads to my radiator, when i make right turns the car vibrates, two front seat belts have stop locking all together and this vehicle has never been in any sort of crash or accident, front dash is starting to lift considerably. I adore my vehicle and i'm not looking forward to getting rid of it, but there are too many problems to deal with on this car.

Brake lines rusting even though i replaced the rusty brake lines before. The first time they rotted through and i could not stop but fortunately i was going slow and used emergency brake.

I need to report my 2000 buick lesabre, apparently has and oil leak. While driving, you can smell oil leaking on the exhaust pipes/manifold system. I read where some engines with the 3.8l engines: chevy's, pontiac's, buick regal's are being recalled for oil leaking from valve cover gaskets (when hard braking is applied) on to the exhaust system parts and could cause a fire, in the engine compartment.. I am experiencing the same problem on my 2000 buick lesabre. With the 3.8l engine. I would like for this to be investigated on these model buick's 2000 - 2005, for oil leaking onto exhaust system. They should be included as well.

While driving the vehicle at 35 mph,the dashboard check engine light illuminated. The engine idle speed became erratic and the vehicle stalled. Upon scanning the computer for fault codes, a p0102 code was found. The mass airflow sensor and the idle control valve were both replaced, however the p0102 fault and check engine light re-appeared the next day. I have found hundreds of complaints online for the identical problem that buick lesabre owners are experiencing with no solid "cure" for the problem. This condition is un-safe and renders the vehicle unreliable for driving.

On june 25, 2010 approx 8:30 pm our 2000 buick lesabre was sitting by our house, not running, no keys in it.we heard a huge bang/backfire.the car hadbeen parked since 4:00 pm.we saw a huge amount of smoke and fire as high as the porch deck roof.immediately called 911.the hood was blown apart, the windshield blown in, rear view mirror & visors blown off.the car was completely totaled; everything on the engine melted, radiator gone, tires melted & tire rims look like they were blown outward.it was a very huge explosion&we did find the odi report ea 02-030 for recalls #03034 & #03054for explosions/fires in this buick.the recalls for our vehicle were completed and done in 2005 for the above items of "fuel regulator causing defective/leaking fuel reg asm etc. Or coolant causing improperly seal throttle body" this vehicle was always a good running car with few problems and a car should not blow up just sitting still, so obviously the problems were not sufficiently corrected.the only event before this was that when the ignition was turned off at 4:00pm the passenger door lock was clicked at the same time and we heard a big clunk kind of sound.our mechanics who viewed the vehicle and all who saw it never saw something that bad and all said that we would most likely have been killed if we had been in the car when it blew up.the vehicle is presently still sitting in the exact spot where it blew up as requested by gmc, but it will need to be moved before snow plowing as it is 6'6" from our house steps and is a hazard to our residence.we told gmac that we would be removing it before aug. 30th, however, they have not inspected it as of yet.other property damage includes melted vinyl siding on our home, damage to deck paint, much needing power washed & damage to tar driveway, plus soot damage. Have many pictures, if you have e-mail address.

I had at least 6 different times that i would go to start the engine and it would only hum, not start. I took it to the dealer while under warranty and they said they could not duplicate the problem. I asked if they checked the battery cables and they said yes. I asked this as i thought that was the problem, a loose battery connection. I knew they did not check, as the battery is under the rear seat and i placed a kleenex box in a marked position and it was exactly the same when they returned the car. It finally just wouldn't start at all, so i had it towed to a repair station (not the dealer) to be fixed. They said the battery cable was loose and arking and they were surprised that i didn't have a fire under the back seat. The reason for my complaint, i don't want anyone injured or killed from a fire under the rear seat in any 2000 buick lesabre. Hope you will make gm check all battery connections on any model with the battery under the back seat. Thank you.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre and the rear window regulators were made poorly and the plastic that holds the cable in broke, so far on both back doors. This should be a recall item since so many people have this problem. The dealer wants over 400.00 to repair that would be over 800.00 and they will break again in time due to poor construction. I have a part ordered for one, and will have to repair the other when i can afford it. One broke on the 4th of sept and the other went the next day. After going online i found that this is a big problem for buick owners. I am the 2nd owner and it looks like the left side is newer by the looks of the plastic gear that the cable rolls around in the motor, so this could be the 2nd time it is replaced.

When the fuel tank is full, fuel leaks from the top of the fuel tank.the problem was reported to the dealership. The dealer has not corrected this problem. Please provide any further information.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre with 52000 miles on it. When the fuel gauge drops below 1/2 tank it starts moving erratically. It will move up to full and then drop down to 1/4 tank, just moves back and forth so below 1/2 tank i don't know how much fuel i have. It also confuses the fuel system computer in the driver information center so that is not reliable either. I just have to keep track of my mileage and based on fuel economy i determine when i need to buy gas. I can't find any recall information for the 2000 model but read some where that a later year model had this same problem and the only fix is to replace the fuel tank where the sensor is located. This is not only faulty engineering it is incompetent engineering.

While driving dash lights illuminated intermittently.the air bag light illuminated more than any other light.also, the driver's side back of seat laid automatically on its own.this incident happened while the consumer was driving.upon having a full tank of gas, the meter would read empty.the vehicle was taken to the dealer.the consumer was told that there was an electrical problem.there was a noise in the dash, the fuel gauge would jump to empty, the speedometer would go to zero, the headlight would go dim when the weather was rainy, there was a rumble in the left front end, a shimmy when the brakes were applied and when raining, the dash light would go from bright to dim the air bag light was intermittent, the radio would cut out, the driver's seat was inoperative, the transmission would slip into overdrive on slight acceleration, the automatic doors were inoperative, the cruise control was inoperative, there were intermittent loss of heat would start blowing cold air, the oil pressure light would come on while the fuel gauge mileage would not stay on, the electrical remote was inoperative, and there was a leak in the engine. *sc

While driving vehicle caught on fire in the engine due to recall campaign 04v090000concerning fuel pressure regulator.

The fuel gauge indicates properly until it reaches the halfway mark. It then fluctuates and is not reliable. This could lead to running out of fuel in traffic, in-climate conditions or in isolated areas without indication. This is a safety hazard that seems to be prevalent on these vehicles and needs to be addressed!

Brake lines rusting even though i replaced the rusty brake lines before. The first time they rotted through and i could not stop but fortunately i was going slow and used emergency brake.

The fuel gauge does not read correctly.it will bounce from 1/4 a tank to 1/2 a tank to full.it is always all over the place.this is a sign of a bad fuel sending unit (its a sensor).there needs to be a recall for this, so i know how much gas i have in the car, i can't keep dumping $10/$20 a week.

Gas lines are rusty and look like they are about to leak gas and also i got stuck on highway because gas gauge did not work because ground wire to sender was broken

I was having problems with the interior lights going dim and then brigthen back up.the controls would also get hot.i call mr. Carl chipman at the go automotive and informed him that i felt that there was a shortage of some kind.they had a sunroof put in and i wasn't sure it the problem had been cause by this top.mr. Chipman did ride the car down the road and it did not do it with him.he stated that the controls being hot was just because it was that time of year and the weather.i told him that they would be hot to the touch.i was also have problems with the seat belt not hooking and they ordered a piece and i took the car in on 6/23/99.mr. Chipman told me to just keep an eye on things.things did not get worse until the whole control panel stopped working on 7/1/01.my car was never put on the machine and buick is telling me that since i did not have my car service with a dealer that they won't cover any of thr bill.they are talking about $700.00 to replace the control panel because it has shorted out.

Dt: the dash light in the consumer's 2000 buick lasabre work intermittently. Sometimes the light are bright, low, or completely out. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who installed a sensor which did not correct the problem. The consumer called the manufacturer who informed himthat they couldn't do anything to the problem.*sb

Power window regulator on driver's side failed in december 2004. This failure was proceeded by similar failures of both rear power window regulators in july 2004.dealer admitted to numerous occurrences of this same failure in other makes of same vehicle (2000 buick lesabre) however, in none of previous cases (nor mine) did the dealer offer reimbursement of costs ($500/window).

Faulty plastic assembly in all door window regulators causing windows to drop, or unable to raise them, also faulty assembly of electric motors in doors causes brushes to burn up by arcing.carsurvey.com has thousands of complaints listed of buick lesabre windows failing from 3,000 miles up or one year up, cost to repair average $400.00 each. Distraction caused when window falls down could cause a crash or collision.

I have a 2000 buick llesabre and i have had to replace the regulator in the rf door and am in the process of have one replaced in the lf door.neither was covered; the warranty had expired.this indicates poor quality control and or design.

The drivers side and rear passenger door regulator went out.consumer is not able to roll window up or down. Took to buick and they replaced the regulators. Ts

Automatic trunk whenpushing the button it flies up and then it comes back down hard onconsumer's head. Cosnumer says that the trunk is dangerous for someone that does not know it's going to do that.dealer says that's just the way they are made this year.

Shortly after taking delivery of vehicle which had 60 miles on it,i noticed when accelerating from a stop or accelerating when turning the car lost power.i would press the gas and it wouldn't go.took to paul batt buick & skill buick many, many times, never found problem.at 30k miles, buick said i should change fluid & check the pan fluid, which showed nothing.problem still occurs.this could be a hazard if vehicle behind me thinks i'm moving and car slows to a near stop w/o brake lights going on. I have 55k miles on it now & problem still occurs.neither buick or the dealer has attempted to resolve this problem.skill buick and paul batt buick were less than helpful.

Service engine light came on. Dealer said code was an 0741 and 0743 showing electrical or possible tourque converter. Dealer said they were unable to duplicate. However it shuddered upon hard acceleration during merges onto freeway or turnpike ramps. The original estimate was about 3000.00. The garage finally had to take apart the transaxle to for a diagnostic.

Come on!!!

The speedometer randomly changes or converts from miles per hour to kilometers, still experiencing problems after serviced.*mjs

Transmission failure, causing hard shifts and shuddering when driving. Gm has a tsb out for this sympton but denies any problem with the transmission. Dealership tech confirmed with diagnostic test and refered to bullitin #00-07-30-002b pressure control solenoid valve assembly. Gm refuses to pay for even a portion of the repairs inspite of their tsb indicating a problem with this perticular make and model. The vehicle was purchased used from my father inlaw with 81k miles on it.12/26/04 and was very well maintained. Iif they issue a tsb for this specific problem, they should take some responsibility iin corrective repairs as laid out in their own tsb. Gm refuses to own up to this problem.

Transmission had to be replaced on two separate occasions, first at 20,000 miles, and other at 36,000 miles. Dealer notified.. The consumer has also experienced the engine skipping due to defective wires, a failure with the head gasket and valve cover.the engine became non-repairable and consumer had to have it replaced.*jg

There is resistance and a momentary delay when shifting. The vehicle has been taken to dealer several times. The vehicle has been at the dealer since january and the dealer can not duplicate the problem.consumer states that a mount was replaced, however there is still a bang when shifting from park to drive, drive to reverse and park to reverse.

Suspected transmission problems began before the 36,000 warranty ran out, but, since it couldn't be replicated, i couldn't take it to a dealer for diagnosis.no problems were ever recognized by computer.the first time was when backing from the garage, the car lurched to a near stop as if the brakes had been applied.i pulled forward and when i backed up, no problems were encountered.the next time, probably months later, happened when making a left turn out of our driveway under very little acceleration.it felt as if something had bound up, then, freed up 2 times.nothing was noted again for months.since new, the car has not shifted into overdrive until the car reaches an enginetemperature of approximately 160 degrees.the next time i noticed a problem was when turning right into a parking place.the car made a single lurch, as if applying the brakes quite hard, then proceeded into the parking place.that was probably a month ago.during the last 2 weeks i think i've noticed a slight vibration when the transmission shifted into overdrive when completely warmed up.two days ago when leaving a stop light with traffic, the car felt like i hit a slick spot for a fraction of a second and continued on as normal.i got out onto a u.s. Hwy and when i got up to about 55 mph, i think when the car shifted into overdrive it downshifted once and then again, rather like the brakes were being applied.i pulled to the side of the road then slowly picked up speed again.it happened for a second time.i slowly drove to the next exit and after stopping, had trouble getting started up.finally it moved as if it were in about 3rd gear.after that time, it is in a forward (3rd gear) even when starting the vehicle up in park and when in neutral.it has no reverse.the vehicle is a 2000 lesabre with only 53,000 miles on it.it's sunday and i haven't taken it to see what's wrong with it yet.i'm very upset about it.

While driving 65 mph engine started to make a loud rapping noise. Dealer notifed and informed consumer that engine needed to be replaced. The transmission failed twice and was replaced by the dealer. The engine skips due to defective wires and all wires were replaced. The head gasket and valve cover gasket were defective and were replaced. The engine was defective and was replaced. The consumer was requesting refund.

Consumer stated the gear support failed in the transmission, causing the transmission to lock.

Safety belt on driver side sometimes fails to latch because the latch mechanism fails to return to its proper location inside the latch housing.i have to press and hold the latch and then use a butter knife to pop the latch back out so that it will latch properly.the driver's side rear power window just started sliding down the track one day and now will not go up or down using the switch.i've had to slide it up into place and the tape it shut with package sealing tape.the front driver side power window sometimes fails to go up or down when i press the window down button.then later it will respond appropriately. Johnson motors replacedthe passenger side front window motor last year when i took the car in to have it serviced and have some scratches buffed out that had been there when i originally purchased the vehicle.the windows are a very real problem but the seat belt latch failure is a real life-threatening situation.

I was involved in a chain reaction accident.i was the 3rd car and barely hit the car in front of me.i was going so slowly that there was no impact damage at all, not even the smallest dent of the bumper.the air bags deployed, however, and caused $3,800 damage to my car interior.the dash buckled and put a hole in my windshield.the reporting policeman said the air bags should not have deployed..the

This car began to show signs of front end wobble a few months ago. This means it feels like the wheels shake from side to side mostly when accelerating from 30 to 45 mph. I took it to the dealer about a month ago but he said he only felt it one time while driving it several blocks around the dealership neighborhood. I took it to firestone immediately after i left the dealership and they balanced the bridgestone tires and the wobble seemed to be lessened. I then took it home and replaced the rear rotors and brake pads as they seems to vibrate when we put the parking brake on while driving. This seemed to help smooth it out at the time. This is my wife's car so she drives it and in less than a month she said it is wobbling again. I drove it again tonight and it is much worse than before so i believe there is something seriously wrong with this suspension. This car has been under a warranty from warranty warehouse for the past seven years and we have had some repairs made at the dealer and each time we ask them to check the front end as it made grinding noises and never seemed to handle as it should. Each time the dealer said it was ok. This appears to be a problem with many reports on the internet regarding front end issues with buick lesabres. We also had the drivers side seat repaired under warranty and it has not worked properly since it was repaired. We have had it back for this issue at least three times.updated 10/4/11updated 10/31/11

Fuel tank and sending linesneed to be replaced due to o-rings improperly fitted onfuel pump. In july 2000,vehicle was making a knocking noise when turning or going over a bump.front/rear transmission mounts weredefective components.dealership put a sealer on this, but it failed to correctdefect.the dealer had replaced motor, transmission mounts, power steering lines, gasket to catalytic convertor and switch for heated seat.

Brake lines rusting even though i replaced the rusty brake lines before. The first time they rotted through and i could not stop but fortunately i was going slow and used emergency brake.

Front suspension noise due to broken sway bar links rusted front right and front left. Front brake lines and fuel line badly rusted but not leaking yet. If front fuel line leaks it will leak onto engine rear to cause fire. If front brake line leaks i will not be able to stop car. I had reported to nhtsa whenmy rear brake lines leaked preventing me from stopping in 2011 but luckily i was going very slow. My driver side window failed preventing me from opening window, needing replacement in may 2014.

When backing out of my garage, the brake system lost all pressure. Upon inspection, the rear brake crossover line was found to be leaking as a result of corrosion over it's entire length.

While driving the vehicle on dry pavement at approximately 30 mph i heard a chime and the abs light illuminated on the dash board. The light went out the next time i drove the car and then returned. This light signifies that i have "lost" the benefit of abs braking on this vehicle. This condition could jeopardize the safety of the driver and occupants as braking efficiency could be dramatically reduced.

My wife was driving our 2000 buick lesabre ltd home from work and her brakes went to the floor when she tried to stop at a traffic light. She was able to stop, but the brakes were barely there. She was able to get the car home without incident, and i checked it out when she got home. I found that there was almost no brake fluid left in the reservoir. I took my other vehicle to the store and bought some brake fluid and refilled the reservoir and checked under the vehicle for leaks. I found that the brake lines had rotted out in the center of the vehicle between the rear wheels, directly behind the compressor motor for the load leveling shocks that are on this vehicle. I took it to the local buick dealership the next day, and they confirmed what i had found, that the rear brake lines were rusted and rotted out. I asked about a safety recall or service bulletin on this issue but they said there was none. I found it very odd that there was no signs of corrosion anywhere else on the underside of the vehicle or on the brake lines other than directly behind the compressor motor for the shocks. They replaced both rear brake lines at a cost to me of $568.31.

When the driver applied the brake the pedal went all the way down to the floor and the brake light appeared on the dashboard.*nlm

I was driving and came to a red light. Upon pressing my brakes, it made a loud crunching/grinding noise and the car started skidding as if i was driving on ice, but there was no ice on the ground. My abs light came on. I assumed it was the brakes that needed changing. Took the car to the mechanic and put new brakes on the car. Abs light still comes on and it is not stopping correctly. I have tried resetting the battery, as suggested on the buick website. That didn't help the situation. Light still is on, and car is not stopping correctly.

Owner noted unusual sound when applying brake pedal in a hard, but not panic, stop.investigation revealed that the power brake booster was extending out 1 inch from firewall when hard brake pedal pressure was applied.brakes functioned normally.further investigation revealed that the four studs which secure the brake booster to the firewall were not tightened properly.the four nuts which secure the four booster studs to the firewall were only engaged the length of the nut, leaving about 1 inch of the stud thread exposed.owner fastened three of the four nuts, since the fourth stud was obscured by the steering column.the fourth nut will be referred to the dealer for repair during the next scheduled maintenance.brakes now function ok without noise or booster movement, but this failure to properly assemble the booster to the firewall could have caused loss of brakes if the four nuts had totally disengaged from the booster studs.

This car began to show signs of front end wobble a few months ago. This means it feels like the wheels shake from side to side mostly when accelerating from 30 to 45 mph. Rear air-shock compressor malfunction. Out of nowhere the rear of my car was higher than normal and after finally getting the dealership to check it they told me that the compressor was jammed and needed to be replaced. This car has been experiencing random malfunctions and breakdowns in various systems since it was purchased and i'm forced to pay out-of-pocket due to the poor design and quality of this car.the individuals at the dealership just shrug it off and say that it happens but regular breakdowns in random parts of a car do not "just happen".

There is water coming into the back floor board behind drivers seat of my 2000 bucik lesabre. Unable to find where leak is and now i have smell i cannot get rid of. The water is even there when no rainfall present.

The dash-pad has separated... And curled! the entire top dash-pad has lifted 2 inches, directly in front of the driver's steering wheel.....this is causing a severe safety hazard! visibility has been blocked! i am afraid for my safety!please investigate!

Dash is separating causing it to pull apart at passenger airbag and glove compartment. Worried air bag will deploy and harm someone or not work at all. Can't open glove compartment anymore.

Slope of windshield and color of dash, causes severe reflections, which at times causes blindness.

Thanks

The rear driver side power window failed.there was a loud pop and the window slid half way down and would not go back up.i talked to my mechanic, and he said that it was a cable that broke. He knew instantly because he had replaced many of them in similar buick lesabres.we know of two friends personally who have had the same problem.for one friend, it happened on more than one window in her car. To get it fixed at the dealership cost nearly $500. It appears to us that this is a faulty part and that the auto maker should recall and repair it at their cost.

Back power windows - something on the cable breaks and the window falls down.now there is no way to keep the window up other than to block it up on the inside door panel with a block of wood.the first window fell a couple of years ago.this week the second window fell.we hardly ever use these windows as there is just the two of us.it costs $600 each to repair.our extended warranty is over.what is our recourse?is there any recall so the manufacturer would fix this?(having to block up windows is really a good way to advertise how great our car is!we had thought about buying another buick, but now i wonder.)

The dashboard on our buick lesabre custom is separating from the windshield causing a safety hazard that could expose the air bag on the passenger side. It is also separating from the ac vents. It is also causing a hazard for the driver's vision.

Dashboard is wrinkled above instrument panel and is pulling away from front next to windshield. Is continuing to get worse. Concerned of safety that airbag may deploy while driving.

July 2007 my rear window stopped working. I opened the door panel and one of the parts was completely off and broken in half. 3 months later, the same thing happened to my front passenger window. Then 1 week ago, my rear passenger window did the same exact thing. I've owned a buick lesabre before and it was over 10 years old before the motor went out on only one window. I've spoken with other owners of the same make and model and the same thing happened to their windows. I'd understand if it were one window, but three windows and the same exact problem isn't right. Is there something you can do to fix it?

At the first filling of gas tank, fuel came out of bad gasket and spilled fuel causing wicked bad fuel smell through out interior of car. Heater has never operated properly. The only way that you can be comfortable in cold weather is to operate manually. The alternator has always had a very noticeable and annoying hum at slow speeds. This is ok now and along with the gas tank is the only things that have been repaired.

Is then replaced by the dealer, since they don't or can't replace just one piece of the mechanism.i can understand how this defect could cause an accident, due to the shock factor, by a window dropping open suddenly by itself at highway speeds.

Power windows will not operate. This is the forth power window regulator replacement in three separate windows that i have had to have fixed. Two of these regulators broke in one weekend. I believe general motors is aware of a problem with the number of complaints and with the service bulletin 9908110008 issued on sep. 1,1999 stating that the upper reg. Attaching bolt may be too far foward and needs bolt hole elongated so window glass does not bind when rolling up window. This failure record is costing me and other consumers costly.

Replaced rear window regulator. Now the front passenger has broken it whichis made of plastic gears.2000 buick le sabre custom.

-the contact stated that the windows onthe 2000 buick lesabre would not work when he depressed the window switch. The contact stated there was no particular time of the day when this occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, and the contact was informed that the window motor assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic to have the window motor assembly replaced on the driver's side rear window. The passenger's side front window motor assembly was also replaced approximately a year later. In addition, the driver side front window motor assembly had to be replaced. The contact stated that once the window motor assembly was replaced he never had a problem with that window again. The vehicle currently has 55000 miles. Updated 04/05/07.

2000 buick lesabre 38000 miles.window rolled down and heard a pop.window will not roll up anymore. Looked it up online.i looked up this problem online and it is a very common very known problem.it costs about $400 dollars to repair.for many different people who have had this problem please see this web page.http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_52823.htmlneeds a recall very badly.

3 out of 4 car window motors have been replaced on my 2000 buick lesabre - the fourth window is going also as it doesn't work sometimes.it cost over $400.00 a window to replace them. 2

Basically the same issue as the 71 other complaints. A few weeks ago the rear passenger window make a grinding noise, then fell halfway down. Now it doesn't work at all. Then last night the front passenger window did the same. Obviously a defect in the automatic window assembly.almost no point in paying to get it fixed as it seems anyone that has had it fixed just have the same problems again.

Rear passenger window regulator failure.replaced 2 times.now failed again.unable to control window.won't roll up.

All 4 window controller cables disconnected. When this occurred the windows came off the track. This resulted in the windowsmalfunctioning. The entire window control unit for each window was temporarily fixed and the problem recurred within 20,000 miles.*sc

During normal operation, my electric windows have stopped working due to faulty cords in the window regulator motors. The windows slide down into the car door and will not come back up. I 've had to drive to dealership with the windows down to get the part replaced. I have had to replace all four window regulators in my car at my expense. The latest incident occurring on april 18, approximately one month after the third of four to fail on march 27. The dealer acknowledges that there is a problem with the window design but gm has not recalled the part.

2000 buick lasabre window fail to work. I bought my car in 2004. Within 6 months all 4 windows failed to work. I have been unable to repair them and i have to keep pulling them back up. I cannot drive my car in the rain because the windows slide back down as i drive. I have three children and i cannot afford the cost of repair. My repair shop said they see this with 2000 buicks all the time. Is there going to be a recall?

Back window inoperable in 2000 buick lesabre .

Bought 2000 lesabre in 2000.have had to replace all four power window components within the past 2 two years (2005/2007 time frame).

I am writing you because i do not know where to turn to.i purchased a 2000 buick lasabre from brown pontiac in amarillo texas at the end of 2000. All4 windows have stopped working, because of one little plastic part that has broken on the window regulator, rendering them useless, and poses a problem in case of carbon monoxide poisoning, or other emergency situation where the windows needed to be operable.it is clearly a defect in material used, which is a little plastic ball, which holds the electric wire in place through a tension system.the only way to fix the problem as it is, is to purchase and replace the entire window regulator and motor, which is about $300 each, and still the same potential problem exists.according to used parts places around the country, that have told me this is a frequent problem withthis vehicle.when my two rear windows stopped, i took it back to the dealer, and because i had not purchased an extended warrant on the vehicle, they essentially laughed at me. I just had my mechanic in pampa texas fix them so they would at least stay up, and so my children would not get hurt on them, or anyone else for that matter.now my front two windows have done the exact same thing, and no longer work, and the only way to fix them is to replace the window regulators and motors in all four windows which is about $1200.this to me is absurd when the problem is one little plastic ball which holds the tension spring in place so the electric windows can go up and down.i am hopeful you can help me to get buick and gm to fix this problem, before some little child is injured or falls out a window because it no longer works, or someone dies of carbon monoxide poisoning because the windows no longer go up and down.i appreciate any help you may be able to give me in getting this unfortunate dangerous situation resolved, and my windows repaired.i am very appreciative of your time and concern for dealing with this matter.*nlm

All four windows have failed since august 2002. The drivers failed most recently when approaching a toll booth and the distraction nearly caused a collision with another vehicle.dt

Defective window regulator in buick lesabre (yr. 2000).2 replaced and 3rd is popping.gm will not reimburse for defective parts.

The back window of my 2000 buick lesabre stopped working ...couple weeks later the other back window stopped working. I then did research on the internet and many many individuals had the same problem. One month later the passenger window stopped working and a month after that the driver side stopped working.all of the faulty windows stopped working this year 2008. How can they all fail at the same time. To repair each window costs around $500 each or a total of $2000...10% of the original cost of the lesabre. From your web site "federal motor vehicle safety standards set minimum performance requirements for those parts of the vehicle that most affect its safe operation (brakes, tires, lighting) or that protect drivers and passengers from death or serious injury in the event of a crash (air bags, safety belts, child restraints, energy absorbing steering columns, motorcycle helmets)". Now if one needs to escape from the auto, especially a child, do to failure of the door opening the windows have now created a safety problem. Once again there have been many many individuals with this problem...many that have not submitted a complaint...even the auto technicians indicate this has accrued more then it should. Finally, i believe the faulty power windows are a safety problem and buick should take responsibility for this faulty equipment.

Intermittently front/rear power windows fell down into the window tracks.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.the contact stated that the power windows began to fail in 2007.he is unable to roll the windows down or up.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the estimated cost for repair would be $2,960.96.the manufacturer stated that there were no recalls for the failure and advised the contact to call nhtsa to have a recall issued.the vehicle was out of warranty.the failure mileage was 48,000 and current mileage was 87,000.

All four of the window regulators in our 2000 buick lesabre limited have failed within the last 3 years.the cost is $400+ per window for repair.

Windows fall down. Regulator breaks at about $200 a piece.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.on august 1, 2007, the passenger side rear window failed.the window was half way down and would not roll up when the button was pressed.on september 10, 2007, the driver side rear window experienced the same failure.the contact was aware of the failures, repaired them, and stated that others were experiencing the same failures.the contact plans to call the manufacturer and send them the repair receipts.the current and failure mileages were 42,000.updated 12/12/07 updated 12/12/07

During 2004-2005 three electric window regulators failed.this2000 buick le saber custom at that time had 38,000 to 45,000 miles ( currently 79,000).in may, 2007 the rear windshield fell apart.the dealers refused to offer any help so i paid approx 400 to 600 per incident for the regulators. There seems to be a distinct pattern with these units and i believe are defective when you look at the numbers herev,s. Some other issues the mfg covers.

Power window failures.

Purchased new 2000 buick lesabre. On oct 4, 2001 the frontright and left windows got stuck. Both window regulators were replaced under factory warranty. On mar 03, 2003 the right front window regulator and locking rod had to be replaced again. After warranty expiration, both rear windows got stuck on same day and both window regulators had to be replaced, this time at my expense. Currently the right front window is again getting stuck intermittently.this window has not been repaired again at this time.

Purchased a used buick lesabre limited 2000.found that the front right power windowwas failing. The window regulator doesn't work, and the window repeatedly falls down, must be pulled up with bothhands.looked in http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_52823.html,and found therewere dozens of repeating window regulators failures reported in this model , buick lesabre limited 2000-2005. This wasa consistent andpersistent problem that cost about $400 per repair, and may be it wasabout time this be dealt with seriously by the nhtsa.

Dt: last year while drivingthere wasa problem with the window. There was a popping sound first ,and then the window fell down. The consumer called the dealership, who indicated that they could replace the whole window mechanism. There was a web made of plastic that holds the end of the cable and keeps window up. This piece of plastic failed. Theconsumercontacted the manufacturer, who advisedthe consumertofilea complaint. The consumer was concerned about children who could be in the back of the car and get cold when the window was down. The problem happened to theconsumer again this weekend while drivingat a shopping center, and hit a bump. Then heard a popping and then the window came down again. The consumer wasgoing to repair it himself.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre limited that has constant failures in the power window system. I have personally replaced all 4 mechanisms due to windows that either drop down unexpectedly or fail to roll up or down. I continue to suffer from the same problem even with the new mechanisms. This has caused among other things, water damage to the interior of the car as the window would not close.

3 of the 4 windows in my buick lesabre (2000) stopped working.i have come to find out this is a normal problem and i believe buick should fix it.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.over the past year, all four vehicle windows would not roll back up because the mechanisms failed.the windows failed in the following order:rear driver side, rear passenger side, front passenger side, and most recently, the front driver side.the contact took the first window to the dealer to be repaired at her expense.she believed the regulators in the windows were causing the failures.the purchase date was unknown.the current mileage was 100,000 and failure mileage was approximately 90,000.updated 02-14-08.updated 02/14/08

I have had to replace two window regulators within one year.both incidents happened while driving in the rain, the window dropped down and i could not get the window back up.i see there have been many complaints filed regarding this.

For the 7th time since i have owned this vehicle, a window has fallen down into the door.this has been a recurring problem since i purchased the vehicle new in 2000.up until now i have not had to pay for the repairs, but this one is going to cost $400.the dealer states the guarantee is only good for one year, so i may have to pay $1,600 a year to keep my windows in working order.i feel this is unreasonable and there should be a recall to permanently fix the problem.

Left rear door window fell down and would not roll back up.*mrthe dealer replaced the left rear window regulator assembly.over the last three years and 7 months all the vehicle regulator were replaced (left front, left rear and right front, right rear)

We have had to replace all four power window motors.the first one, we made the mistake of taking it to a dealer and it cost around $400-$500.the others we ordered the part and replaced it ourselves which cost around $100-$150 depending on the window.now, the one we replaced two years ago is broke again.this needs to be recalled.if a child just happened to be in the car on the side the window broke on, there could be serious injury.gm needs to recall this unless they want a lawsuit on their hands!

Could not close right rear window.dealer notified, and replacedpower regulator. Feel free to provide any further information.

Power window mechanisms will fail causing the window to drop and shatter. Type of car is 2000 buick lesabre. This has happened 3 times on different windows in the same vehicle. The car currently has less than 12,000 miles on it. The third occurrence was the most serious and occurred while driving on the highway when the drivers side window dropped on its own and shattered. It seemed like the window was shot out. Buick said it was normal ware and charged $450 to repair.

I have replaced all 4 window regulators twice. I have done research, and it appears many have the same issue. Buick claims to sell "luxury" this is far from luxury and is unsafe! driving 65mph and the windows just go down....then won't go back up! my car had to sit outside with both back windows down!

2000 buick lesabre, automatic window regulator/motor failed on two windows and was replaced for cost of 400. Per window.understand that this defect is known by buick but was never recalled.it's a shame that an otherwise good vehicle has this fault which is quite costly and widespread. We got vehicle from relatives estate, when we got the car we found out that a window motor had been previously replaced.could be hazardous if children are in back seat and window drops down unexpectedly, which is what happens.

Dt*: the contact stated, there have been four failures to the exterior turn signals as well as the brake lights. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for a recall notice where the exterior lights were replaced, but the problem continued. While driving at 35 mph, the left turn signal was engaged before making a left hand turn but the exterior light would not illuminate. The failure of the exterior lights resulted in the contact's vehicle being struck on the drivers side doors causing minor damage. No police report was filed. The consumer stated he was not having any problems with lights and there was no accidents. His problem was with the window regulators which had to be three times.updated 07/17/06.

Complaint received via e-mail. We purchased a new 2000, buick, lesabre.before the warranty was up two power motor windows failed. We could not operate thewindows in any manner. Currently, we have had two more window failures, and the costto replace themwas almost $400.00 per window. Because we could not get a response from general motors wedid not getthe windows fixed. We could not operate them up or down. Thiswas certainly a safety hazard because in an emergency the windows could not be opened.three members of our immediate family experienced the same problem with late model gm vehicles, such as, grand am/grand prix, and acadillac, deville.wewere told by our local rapco automobile mechanics that this was acommon problem with general motors vehicles. Generalmotorsrefused to acknowledge the problem, and we wanted to file a complaint.

My driver's side rear window refused to roll up after rolling down.upon examination by our mechanic, it was discovered that the window motor had ceased to function.the window itself had on another occasion failed but this time the motor needed replacing.

I purchased my 2000 buick-lesabre in 2002. Shortly after i had to replace the back left window motor, then i had to replace the front right window motor, then a short time later i had to replace the right back window motor and just last week i had to replace the front driver side window motor. I feel that with only one person driving this car and not using the windows that much i have had an unusual break down of windows. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have own three buicks before and never had any problems with the windows. This has happened over a three year period.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre with faulty power window motor.this will be the 2nd replacement for the passenger side window.based on other website chat rooms this is not uncommon for this vehicle.buick needs to recall the motor so that this can be fixed.my vehicle only has 42,000 miles on it and its in great condition however, as a safety issue the windows must be operational and function correctly.

Power window controls: all 4 windows failed between aug 2004 and may 2006. There are already 104 registered complaints in this database for this issue on this car model. Dt:all four power windows will not work.from march through september of 2005 i they each quit working.the problems did not occur all at the same time.the consumer stated that the rear windows were rarely used; probably not more than six times.when the windows were inspected the mechanic told the consumer that the problem was with the regulators in the window motors.after taking the doors apart he found that the cables in each of the regulatorssnapped. Also, told the consumer that he had never seen a power window system set up like these were.they were unable to replace just the cables, but, had to replace the entire regulator in each window. The parts for the rear windows were only available through gm directly. The consumer felt that the cables in the regulators were defective.

It is not safe to have windows that will not operate.cost to repair is $400plus per window. Buick should do a recall.

All four (4) window regulators in my 2000 buick lesabre custom have failed, driver's side first, then front passenger, then left rear, then right rear, and now the front passenger has failed again.i bought the car new in 2000, and have been very satisfied with everything else.all of these have been outside of the warranty period.

The consumer heard a loud popping noise and discovered the rear driver's side window had fell down inside the door panel. The mechanic stated the window regulator was made of plastic.

Window gaskets replaced, window electric motor replaced.

I have owned my 2000 buick lesabre limited for about 6 months and i have had 3 window regulators go out and i don't hardly use the power windows. It's a cheap plastic part in the assembly that causes the problem. An estimated price of 500.00 to fix i've decided to let them stay up as to getting them fixed with the same faulty parts does not guarantee they will not break or fail again.

Failure of power windows.

Dt:the contact stated that the back driver's side window was faulty. She tried to roll the window up when she heard a clicking noise and the window would not go up or down. Dealer said the regulator needed to be replaced. Part was replaced at owners expense. Manufacturer filed a complaint for the contact, and told her to call nhtsa.

The complaint received via e-mail.we purchased a new 2000 buick, lesabre, and before the warranty was up, two power motor windows failed.we could not operate the windows in any manner. Wehad two more failures, and the cost to replace the power motor windows was almost $400.00 per window.as a result, we could not get a response from general motors, wehad to have the windows fixed so that we could operate them up or down. This was certainly a safety hazard because in an emergency the windows could not be opened.we had three members of our immediate family who experienced the same problem with late model gm vehicles.one was a grand am, one a grand prix, and the other was acadillac deville. We were told by our local rapco automobile mechanics that this was a very common problem with general motors vehicles.however, could not get general motors to acknowledge this, and we want to file a complaint.the power window motor failed. *sc

Power window regulators failed in both rear windows within days of each other on a 2000 buick lesabre.in each instance the window glass dropped into the door and could not be raised.very distracting to the driver when this happens unexpectedly.apparently a very common problem with gm vehicles and very expensive to repair.

The regulators on all windows had to be replaced.several months later, the same problem persisted.when the consumer called buick, the consumer was told that it was due to the lack of use.*sc

2000 buick lesabre. Power window regulators have failed on all doors, and now drivers door regulator has failed for the second time. Windows either dropped, or when rolled down would not go back up. Nearly $400/incident to repair. Did not save old parts, will save this one. My research indicates that there have been lots of these failures.

Dt*:the contact stated without warning the rear passenger and both driver side windows fall down on their own due to power control failure.the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop where the window regulators were replaced.

Left front and right front window rollers went bad.consumer was told when you buy a car it is yours by the buick representative. *tc

I am on my 3rd power window being replaced in my car.the dealership claims they haven't seem this happen before - but as you can see from all the complaints this is a common occurrence with this year model.i called the gm customer service and they are to call me back - but they also acted like this was so unusual to have 3 power windows go out within a years time.the most important question i have is whether it will continue to happen at $400 a window or are they replacing it with improved parts?who knows...*la

Car was bought brand new by my wife's parents who shortly thereafter died and we inherited car. Garage kept and hardly used. After we had it 1 year when my wife tried to put her passenger side window downit wouldn't go down. I thought the motor had gone bad and prepared to take it to the dealer. Before appointment i avoided using that window and one day tried to open the back driver's side window. It went down but made a noise and never was able to come up. I thought again it was just bad luck. The following sunday i was at a store with another car and notice a car that looked exactly like our buick with tape on it's rear window. I thought my wife had driven our buick to the store. It wasn't our car so i waited for owner and questioned him about having problems with his windows. It was the second window that had broken on him. Further investigating on internet and with others aware of the car found that there are many with problem. I call buick who said car was out of warranty but when i told them i had been to your website to file a complaint buick said if i took it to dealer, andwas willing to pay for a diagnosis they would determine whether they could help me. Turns out the car needs a regulator and motor cable and guide:l cost $400.00. Doesn't this seem like a manufacturer defect especially when they fix the problem with the same part and it goes bad too. Go to www.autobytel.com and looked at all the complaints on that website over this same issue.we opened the rear windows maybe a handful of times because the car had air conditioning and we usually used the air. Now 2 of the windows have problem.it is definitely a safety hazard if you can't open the window or can't close it. What if a childlocks the doors while in the car with the keys and can't open car withhandle. Buick's actions indicates that they know they have a problem.i called them with the diagnosis but buick has not called back and impression is that they don't want to deal with it.

Buick lesabre 2000, problem with the electric windows. The rear driver and front passenger side window motors had to be replaced.

For the 7th time one of my power windows fell down and would not go back up, allowing anyone access to the inside of my car. Took it to the dealer again, and had to pay another $566.89 to have the window regulator fixed.

Defective power window regulatorsthird failure in less than nine months!.

Rear passenger driver's side window failed in down position.it seems that i'm not the only one.

Why hasn't there been a recall on the way the power window regulators have to be replaced, there is a defect in the mold that allows the cable to slip. It is very costly 450.00 to repair and they go out often on all 4 windows,i experienced this today in a heavy rain storm, i went to the drive thru at the bank, could not get window up, had to drive in heavy stormy weather, this has to be a money maker for gmthe part has defects.

The electric windows of the vehicle would slide down, but would not slide up.the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop who informed the consumer that the electrical cable wound itself around the motor, burning the motor out.all of the windows are affected.the manufacturer nor the dealer is aware of the problem. *phvehicle experienced four failures with power window equipment. One occurrence was while vehicle was parked the other three was when the vehicle was traveling between 35-40 mph.vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop where the consumer was informed that the electrical cable wound itself around the motor thus burning the motor out.*mr

I have had to replace the power window mechanism in all 4 windows of my 2000 buick lesabre, and now starting again.

The electric motor for all 4 windows malfunctioned, completely died. The window will not come down. The motor burned out at different times. Consumer contacted the dealer, and was told these particular motors were a problem.

The driver's side window was stuck and would not come back up, it was fixed and two years later broke again, and the rear window on the driver's side did the same thing.this happened in the middle of winter, in the midwest, with temperatures in the teens.we had to duct-tape the window closed to be able to drive the car in freezing temperatures.i cannot believe the same car has had 3 issues in 2 years with the window mechanisms!something is terribly wrong, and it has cost over $600 to fix the car!the repairs do not last. Apparently the manufacturer uses cheap plastic parts which break.are we never supposed to use an atm or a drive-through?it is very dangerous not to have windows go back up, especially in rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.

- the contact stated that while driving her 2000 buick lesabre, the power window was opened and could not be closed.the contact has had this problem happen to all four (4) of her windows.first, the front two (2) windows were repaired.then the two rear windows failed, but had not been repaired.the mechanic had stated that the window actuator was damaged. The failure mileage was 4000 and the current mileage was 98000.

Owner of a 2000 buick lesabre. All four electric windows has been replaced several times and continues to stop working. Is nhtsa doing anything about it ?

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.the contact stated that three power windows have failed in the past year and have become stuck.the dealer stated that the failure was due to a weak plastic piece that was a part of the single unit window assembly.the passenger side front window is the only window that operates normally.she called the manufacturer, but they were unable to provide assistance.the current and failure mileages were 48,681.updated 01/11/08.*ljthe consumer stated the rear window is now stuck opened and she was unable to close it. Updated

Power windows have broken 6 times. The drivers window account for 3 of the times. The drivers window is currently stuck in the up position. *nlm

Right rear window no longer operates.dealer says that the window regulator has failed.this is the 3rd regulator to fail.research also indicates that this is a common problem with this car.

The major problem with this 2000 lesabre car has been defective electric windows. Twoout of the four windows have failed and required dealer service costing about $400 per window. It is obvious that there is a manufacturing defect in the operating mechanism, as i have owned five previous buick's and never had a problem with the windows. Buick should initiate a recall and admit that a defect exists and replace these windows, whether in warranty or not.

The electric windows mechanism fails resulting in replacement at $500 per window each time.all four window mechanisms have had to be replaced in a 2 yr. Period.now the driver's side window works at times, and will not work at times.this will be the 5th window replacement.ridiculous that there is no recall on these mechanisms.a friend has the same vehicle and he has had to replace his also.

The front/rear power windows failed to open/close.please provide more information.

Despite extreme low mileage and use, 3 out of 4 power windows have stopped working and have needed costly repairs.i see other complaints about windows on this site and agree that depending on the circumstances, this could cause a dangerous situation.it's just plain poor quality too.

Bought the car one month ago with right rear electric window failed. The left rear window failed last week and i had to have it repaired. Now the driver's window is starting to act up.

2000 buick lesabre all four window regulators on my parents car have failed beginning with the first one in 2002 (repaired by the dealer under the warranty).two others failed in after the warranty expired in february 2004 and october 2004 respectively (repaired by a reputable repair shop but not a buick dealer).the fourth window failed recently but has not been repaired.my mother complained to buick several times and after being promised full reimbursement for the two failures in 2004, was sent a check for only half the promised amount and advised nothing else would be covered.because the car was purchased in new jersey but had been relocated to florida - neither state would cover anything under their respective lemon laws.gm insists this is not a wide spread problem although in a quick 15 minute search of the web i found over 175 complaints (all of who said gm stated the same thing).

Bought 2000 lesabre new in oct 1999. Wife's car and only has 69000 mi on it now. No children using the car. No children at home, rarely anypassengers in the car. Now..to date all four window regulators have been replaced at a total cost of over $1,600.00. The driver's side window went first in 2003, in 2006 all three remaining window went out within months of each other, these windows almost never were used! it is hard for me to believe that there aren't more incidents of these regulator failures. I can't be the one that got all the bad regulators.

Right front passenger's side window stopped operating, will not open or close. Dealer notified, and replacedcable andpower regulator. Feel free to provide any further infromnation.

Dt:the contacthad the window regulator replaced three times.the first time was the right front window, thesecond time was the right rearwindow, and third time was the left rear window.the first two times they were replaced under warranty, the third time it was at theconsumers expense. Also, was having a problem with windshield wiper blade post onboth sides.while driving during a rain storm on the interstate, thewindshield wiper on the driver's side stopped working and on the passenger'ssideit worked intermittently.the windshield wipers were repaired under warranty. Updated 11/16/05.

I drive a gm 2000 buick lasabre and have had 3 out of the 4 electric windows go down and not go back up again. I have only been able to afford to get 1 fixed so far because it is the entire actuator and motor system that needs to be replaced and it costs $500 for each window. Please recall these windows and replace them with windows that work.

Failure of 3 windows on 2000 buick lesabre within 3 months.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving at various speeds and on various occasions all four power windows failed without warning.when the automatic window controls were applied the windows would not move.upon inspection the dealership determined all four power window regulators needed to be replaced.updated 6/19/2006 - the consumer had the four broken regulators in his possession.

The window regulators on my 2000 buick lesabre failed today.now my window will not go up or down and is down all the way.normally for child safety it is still partially up. Even though i keep my back windows "locked" causing them to be used infrequently it failed.today is the second time in the last year+ the same regulator has failed.buick needs to stand behind this as i see countless complaints online and the fact that the window now goes all the way down is a child safety hazard.the cost to repair is said to be $400+ per window.

Dt:the contact's vehiclehad five different electrical window failures. The windows could not be rolled up or down becausethe belt inside the window broke. The dealerrepaired the windows. The manufacturer advised the contact to take vehicleto the dealer for repairs. They offered no free remedy.

- the contactownsa 2000 buick lesabre.the contact complained that the power windows failed. Whiledriving at 55 mph he heard a snap in the doors and the windows came down, he tried to power them back up but it did not work . The contact stated that this happened to all four windows at different times.the serpentine belt was replaced due it squealing. Updated 01/31/07.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.the contact stated that the window regulators stopped working in february.the windows went down and would not come back up.she placed plastic over them.the regulators were replaced on may 8th by the dealer.the purchase date, # of cylinders, and engine size were unknown.the current mileage is 28,350 and failure mileage was 28,148. Updated 02-01-08 updated 02/01/08

1) first time driving, 2nd time car was parked. Neither time were the windows being used.2) both times power regulator had to be replaced. There were no consequences, but could have been if children were in the back seat while driving or on a cold night.3) old part is not available.

Bought a 2000 buick lesabre as a student vehicle.within two months the driver side window mechanism failed.fixed the driver's side window mechanism at a cost of about $500.subsequently all three other windows failed.

Have a 2000 buick lesabre (custom) both regulators (passenger and driver side) on the rear windows have failed.the first was in november of 2005 and the second was august of 2006.both regulators were replaced by the dealer under the extended warranty.in both cases, the windows were down and would not go up.

Three of the power windows have failed.this appears to be a major problem with the car. Gm does nothing to address the problem.

Dt: the contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. The contacthad to replace three of the four power windows, and now the fourth window needed to be replaced . The windowshad to be replaced within the last four years. The vehicle has been taking to the dealership while it was under warranty, but they could never duplicate the problem with the power windows and the regulator. Therefore, they would not correct the problem.this was on the driver's side window. The three window regulators had to be replaced out of pocket by the consumer the dealership would not help with the cost of repairs.thiswas an intermittent problem. When the problems first startedthe window would go up slowly and then it would go out.

The horn button have to be pushed in the direct center to actuate the horn.if a person is not aware of this they may not activate the horn when desired. Also, all power windows are sluggish/motors sounds rough and noisy during operation.

Window operator failed.

The rear driver side power window failed.there was a loud pop and the window slid down and would not go back up.i talked to a mechanic and he said that this has happened quite often recently.he said the cable broke.it just takes a little tension and pop, it happens!i called the dealer and they said a new part costs $315!i called to see if there is an after market on this part and they said that you can get it for the front but not the rear door!it seems to me that buick knows that this power window part is faulty and cannot let out the rights to other manufacturers to produce this!this should be recalled on all 2000 to 2005 buick lesabres.

Window regulators fail in the power window mechanism. It has occurred in all four windows over the past year and a half. I had the driver's window repaired, the other 3 are non-functional. One of them (rear driver-side) is stuck in a position that is 1/4" from closed. The dealer service department told me thatwas the best they could do (besides duct taping it closed!). The repair costs $450 - $500 per window, which is ridiculously out of my budget.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre. The contact stated that the front passenger side window could not be closed or opened. The other three windows failed in the past and had been repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 78,000. The vin was unavailable. Updated 12/5/12updated 12/12/2012

Last friday when i was trying to roll up my rear passenger side window i heard a pop and it stopped working.i tried pulling the window up by hand for safety reasons and it will not stay up.after doing some research on the internet it seems to be a common problem with buick lesabre's.it's a very expensive problem...about $600 to replace!!if you do a search on the internet for "buick lesabre window problems"you can read how common this is and i think this is definitely a recall issue.

Dt*: the contact stated the rear passenger power window motor regulator failed to operate while the window was half open. The window would not close. This was the 3rd time, the power window regulator motor had failed.the service dealer and manufacturer were notified.updated 9/13/2006 - the driver's side window regulator failed twice and the rear driver's side window regulator failed once.

The vehicle is experiencing problems with the power windows on the front driver's side and the front passenger's side intermittently shorting out.consumer is unable to wind the side windows up or down when needed. Also consumer smelled electrical wiring burning when using the window switches. Dealer was notified, andinformed consumer that the vehicle was not covered under a recall.

I own a 2000 buick lesabre. I continue to have problems with the windows. I am now in the process of replacing another window motor, this is the second one. I am unable to drive my car until repairs are made. Don't you think a recall should be made for these repairs as i have a relative that has the same vehicle and she has had the same problem. From reading other complaints, it appears that this is a problem with a lot of consumers. What can we do?i just replaced one, 400.00 charge now another one. As consumers we are requesting a recall for defective windows for all buicks. I did not keep the last old part, but will keep the next one, where do i send it?

The window assemblies in my vehicle are defective.the service dept (who have been so nice to me as has the dealer -- bought my car there) admits that the plastic pulleys inside the window are defective and cause repeated break down of the window.i have had 6 window assemblies/regulators put on my car, 4 in front and 2 in back since i bought it new in 2000.at $400 a pop now that my car is out of warranty, this is getting ridiculous! the first one was put in at only 17,000 miles!

Passenger front and rear window regulator was bad and the windows didn't work.*ph

I have now experienced 3 seperate power window regulator failures,( 2 rear, 1 front passenger) all in down position. As a result car can not be driven in cold/ rainy weather or parked in public area.all falures occuredin 3 month period.dealer cost to repair in all 3 instances is over $400.00 parts and labor. I did not ask for part back but based on past track record i am expecting 4th failure any day and will ask for part to be returned.

*nlm

Power window failure.back driver's side window would not close after being opened.this is the fourth window regulator which had to be replaced on this vehicle.every window regulator has been replaced at the buick dealership.the cost for each incident is over $300.asked service technician if a redesigned part or the same parts were being used.they stated the same parts were being used and this is biggest problem with these vehicles.what upsets me the most is the regulators over time will have to be replaced again.the same defective parts are being used.buick knows this is an issue but has done nothing about it.

2000 lesabre rear window regulator malfunctioned.

Consumer is having problems with the electric windows.the rear driver side window was down a crack so consumer attempted to raise it.it wouldn't so consumer started to lower it and it dropped half way and would not go up or down.teh entire mechanism had to be replaced.a week after the first repair, consumer was in motion when the rear passenger side window dropped halfway with no action on the driver or passengers part.several weeks after having the rear passenger window repaired, consumer attempted to lower the front drivers window.the window would not move at all.*jg

Power window assemblies have to be replaced because the cables become entangled and cause the power motor to fail.this has happened to the drivers front and back doors; and to the passenger's side front door.the window drops down and allows the outdoor elements (rain and snow) to ruin the interior of the vehicle.to my knowledge, the manufacturer has not come up with a solution for the problem.

Left passenger window dropped down, regulator needs to be replaced; this is a pretty obvious malfunction of the regulators since what it holds the glass is a very delicate plastic part. I have done so much research about the same problems with this type of issues from model's years ranging 2000-2004. Nothing seems to be done to solve or better improve the part that causes the window glass to drop down.

Car has less than 21,000 miles and the right rear window regulator failed with the window in the down position. Gm wants $300.00 for the part. After reading all the complaints regarding this same problem, why doesn't gm issue a rebuilding kit to repair the defect instead of having to replace the entire motor and regulator?

Driver side window and back passenger side window stopped working.part can not be bought separate from motor.you have to buy motor and all to fix it.dealer service department stated that they have multiple complaints with this problem.

Window regulator on the rear driver window is broken.it keeps the window down.the regulators on the other windows are now starting to see a problem.the window not being able to be up or down causes major issues for driver safety during in inclement weather conditions.

Buick lesabre cars all have faulty window regulators and they break soon after the warranty is out and the cost to repair is out of site, after you replace one the next window breaks and then the next, buick needs to do a recall on these and fix everyone that breaks, the regulators are cheap made.

We have a 2000 buick lesabre and a 2001 buick lesabre and with both of them we have had to replace several window regulators. They simply stopped working and the windows were stuck in the down position. We had to purchase new regulators and replace them. We have had several other cars in the past and have never experienced this problem with any other brands, makes or models.

The rear window fell off the track.consumer was unable to roll up/down the windows.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

Since purchased new, a 2000 buick lesabre has had all four power window regulator assemblies fail without warning, i.e., the windows stopped working,(not all at one time, but over the intervening years) creating a safety problem in the event of a need to evacuate the car, to conduct business at a toll lane, for example, or to respond to a police traffic stop.and the driver's window has failed a second time, after having been repaired by buick, for a total of five failures of the same electrical/mechanical system. Buick replaced the first assembly under warranty.the next three repairs cost approximately $435 each at buick.the fifth repair was done at an independent repair facility at a cost of $333.the independent shop and several other sources have anecdotally related many other incidents of an obviously defective electrical/mechanical system. Buick has acknowledged some liability and has agreed to reimburse about 50% of the repair costs.however, i believe that this problem is a safety issue and/or a significant product defect that should be subject to recall.

Electric windows on passenger's sideslid down and would not come back up.on the driver's side it was the opposite. Vehicle was taken to dealer, who informed the consumer that the electrical cable winded itself around the motor. The consumer checked nhtsa recalls and foundmany similar complaints.

The contact owns a 2000 buick lesabre.while driving at various speeds, the rear driver side window became off track, fell all the way down, and could not be raised.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and paid for the repairs.almost three months later, the failure recurred to the rear passenger side window.the window is still not repaired, but she believes it is a manufacturer defect.the current mileage was 78,245 and the failure mileage was unknown.updated 4/16/08

My 2000 buick lesabre has had two automatic window motors go out.both the drivers window & the drivers side back window.i feel the car is too new to have this problem.the dealer i bought the car at says it will cost $450 per window to fix.i can't afford to have them fixed.

Consumer reportedthat all window regulators were defective, which caused the windows to operate while either in the up/down mode during operation.dealer was aware of this issue.

Both front and rear driver's side power window motors have failed 3 days apart from one another, and needed replacement.repairs to both windows have totaled $1000 combined. Old parts are available.repairs were performed at a cadillac dealership.based on other performance reviews, i have seen a trend that this is occurring commonly on this vehicle, and repeated failure of this part is occurring with many owners.

I own a 2000 buick lesabre and within the past year and a half i've had to replace 3 window regulators and 1 window motor.buick did pay for one regulator part (i paid for the labor) and is offering me $300 towards the others.i have spent out of my own pocket $1,186.24 to have the windows repaired.i'm finding out this is a common problem in buick lesabres.

We purchased our 2000 lesabre as a program car with 12,000 miles.beginning shortly thereafter threepower widows went out.they were replaced at no charge.now with 85,000 mile the fourth went out and it cost us $400 plus dollars.of course they said it was out of warranty because of the mileage.we had over nine cars with power windows and never had to replace one, and now one vehicle all four had to be replaced.to me that tells me that there was a problem with the window motors.i could understand one going out, but all four?

I am complaining about my 2000 buick lesabre.in april 20, 2003 i rolled down my drivers side window and it would not go back up.i took it to a buick dealer.they wanted nearly $400 to repair the window.i called the buick customer service department who called the buick dealer and talked to the manager.it was agreed to split the price 50-50.on may 24th the rear window on the passenger side failed.i tested the other back window and it failed.again i called the customer service department.they refused to do anything this time.a few days later i called again and spoke with a different representative.he refused to do anything and backed up the first persons decision without any consideration to my problem.he also refused to give me the zone office phone number for buick.when asked to speak to someone higher up i was told no.i said i was going to write a letter and was toldit wouldnt matter what i did it was settled.i did send a letter to buick and he was right, it didn't matter.they still refused to do anything about the problem.the case number is 1-93076844.this is the worst experience i have ever had with customer service.both of these representatives had no interest in dealing with me.this is a prime example of customer no service.i did some checking into the power window problem on your web site and found that on september 1, 1999 a service bulletin #9908110008 was issued dealing with concerns about the door glass binding in the run channel.i also found other complaints listed about the same type of problem.they also complained about more than one window going bad within a short period of time.i would think that this problem should be taken up with the factory since i consider this to be defective window regulators on the buick lesabre 2000 models.

My driver's side rear window just decided to quit working one day while my window was down.i was finally able to get my window back in the closed position only to be driving down the road one day and my window fell down by itself and won't stay up.now i am having to replace my electirc motor in this window.i have already had to replace the electric motor and regulator in my front driver's side window.it seems to me, judging by all the complaints, that there should be a recall on this year model electric window motors.when is buick going to step up and fix this problem?

All four of the power window regulators failed. The cable on all four parts became worn and broken. The windows did not function properly afterwards. New parts were purchased and installed, but the replacement parts are identical to the ones that failed.

The motor and cablesdo not operate, preventing the windows from rolling up. This could cause the passengers not to have an emergency exit in an accident. Manufacturer has been contacted by consumer, and is aware of the problem.

Continuing failure of power windows regulators in 2000 buick lesabres. I have replaced four regulators since purchasing a 2000 buick lesabre in 2003. The design of the parts is faulty and they can fail at any time. When a window suddenly drops down in traffic, the resulting distraction is a safety issue.this is shoddy design and irresponsible manufacture and design.

Without warning the back passenger window on 2000 buick lesabre has stuck about 4" open. After researching on-line there are numerous postings of the same problem detailing the plastic part that moves the window fails and a stamped 'void' at the breaking point of the plastic. These postings list multiple failures in the same car and differing ages of the parts including during warranty and after.i expect to pay $400 for the replacement of the defective part. Please research.

Window regulator failure on all four windows, and again for each front window, resulting in inoperable window, the latest failure was today. All other failures were within the last two years.

My 2000 buick lesabre custom sedan.the drivers and right rear windows suddenly drop open fully without warning due to failure of electric motor of each window cannot power them back up because of a failure of the lift mechanism.this repair costs 400.00 per window and is a known common failure of the 2000 to 2005 models.recently occurred to driver;s window on may 7, during a rainstorm and had to pull over and stop;luckily on low traffic street at time.rear window drop occurs more often and each time, i stop and with both hands raise the window and place paper shims to hold the window up. This presents a dangerous situation if it occurs on a busy highway/street asthe driversuddenly loses focus temporarily. And is placed in a dangerous position as it is known that crashes occur in mere seconds during highway speeds when drivers take their attention away from driving.this is a common failure on the early 2000=2005 lesabres and buick should be required to correct this common failure.

I have a 2000 buick le sabre custom that i have had to replace window regulators 6 times. I bought the car new and the windows are very seldom used. I am afraid to use them because it cost over $400.00 to repair each one. I think there should be a recall on these parts.

All four power windows have failed one by one.won't stay up.seats are being ruined by rain / snow.no security while driving or parked.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre and have three window regulators replaced. There seems to be some type defect if one auto has three replaced. Please advise.

I have a 2000 buick lesabre that has had window regulators failures on the drivers side window and right-hand rear window in the past two months.the car has 65,000 miles on it.i have had to have them replaced.

Power window problems.noise was heard when lowering and one knew something was wrong.window would not raise back up.one window would jerk when lowering; it would not lower smoothly (rear passenger window). Driver and passenger front window regulators and rear passenger regulator had to be replaced out of original manufacturer warranty.in both front window incidents on repair order it was stated that the regulator cable was broken not allowing window to move up.incidents did not all happen at the same time.

The drivers power window was inoperable.*jg

The front and rear passenger side automatic windows malfunctioned. When the button was depressed the window went down but failed to come back up. Motor had to be replaced to correct the failure. The cause of the motor going bad was not determined.*sc

Since i bought the buick lesabre in 2002 all 4 windows have had defective motors in them.i feel this is a manufactures defect and they should reimburse me for all the time and money it has cost me to have these windows fixed.they have all failed with in a years time during the summer months.i have had to take the vehicle in on 4 separate occasions because they would not fix the motor unless they actually saw it when the motor was stuck and not working.i live over 50 miles away from the dealer and i had to rush over there so they could see the windows when they wouldnt operate.i had 3 of the 4 window motors replaced but they refused to fix the last window because it wasnt sticking at the time i brought it in.now the 4th window is broken and it will not go up or down yet my warranty has run out.i paid 100.00 every time they took my vehicle in for repair.i had to get a rental vehicle each time i took it in because it took them over 24 hours to replace the motor in the window.i feel this is a defect from the manufacture and i have heard that my buick is not the only one with those same problems.i feel i should be reimbursed for the money i have had to spend to fix the windows and they should fix my 4th window because the warranty ran out.i did complain and told the dealer ship to note that i said all 4 windows were defective but i havent been reimbursed yet, and they refuse to fix my 4th window under the warranty because it was not showing signs of the defect at the time.

The lack of quality outlined in my 2000 buick lesabre's window regulators, my vehicle currently has 74k miles and both right side windows have left my family exposed to the outside environments.i have researched this issue on-line and it appears to be a huge problem buick & gm have overlooked, i will expect a response from the manufacture to insure this is not a problem designed to help improve sales through the dealers.thanks for your investigation into this issue!

Power window regulators are failing and the dealerships are ripping off our elderly citizens a $400/incident! these engineers must have got their degrees out of a cracker jack box! these regulators/motors are made as one unit, and repair is needed and would be easy.of course this is how gm resorts to making money now. Last gm product i will ever buy!!! oh on my second in 2 months, christ!*la

My 2000 buick lasabre has had three widow regulators fail.one under warranty, one i talked them into paying for the part, and now the third that they refuse obsorb any of the $400 cost.my wife has been stranded without an automobile for four days waiting on the part.i finally had to get an autobody shop to repair it (tomorrow 6/29/2005).someone is now making an after market part that is half the cost, because they know the extent of the problem.i will never purchase another gm product.

Dt*:the contact stated the electronic control modules for three of the power windowsfailed.the rear driver's side and passenger's side were replaced twice.the front passenger side has also been replaced once.the dealership claimed if the window is seldom used it will break when used because the wire is thin and jumps off the track, causing it to snap.

I have a 2000 buick lasabre.3 of 4 electric windowmotors broke.i have replaced only one of the motors, due to they are $300 each.i feel these motors have a defect or this many would not have failed.

I bought a 200 lesabre in november of 2004. I rarely use the windows - maybe a few times up and down a week. Doing the math, there have been a few hundred ups and downs for each window. During the last six months i have replaced all four window regulators/motors on this car. Internet sites has clearly shown that there is a defect with buick's window regulators and they will not do anything about it. See http://groups.google.com/group/buick-lesabre-window-regulator/browse_frm/thread/2a1899cf89253771?hl=en#30bf330dab8abef9.i also purchased a 2002 lesabre in september of '06. This morning the second window on that car went as well. This is utterly ridiculous and criminal. These window regulators must be recalled and replaced.

Power windows dropped into the door well. Both a rear passenger and drivers window unexpectedly fell into the door well, and would not roll up. The rear window dropped in november, the driver's window in january 2008. Its cold in michigan in january, i was unable to drive home.

Buick lesabre custom (2000).the driver's side rear window stopped working. Mechanic said it is the window regulator. Part cost about $250.00. Assembly includes motor. Found out that this is a common and widespread problem with that this car. The years 2000 to 2005 on these models all have the same type of assembly. Found out a lot of others have the same problems at http://www.carsurvey.org/viewmorecomments_review_38504_2.htmlthere are no doubt many others we haven't heard about that have the same problem.

The contact owns a 2000 buik lasabre.while driving 20 mph a noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle.she noticed that the rear window was down. The window would not close.the dealer replaced the regulator.after the repair all 4 windows had malfunctioned.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who advised that the regulator needed to be replaced.the current mileage was 53,000.the failure mileage was 20,000.

When using side mirrors to back up they would continually drop down.driver's side mirror will not come back to original position. A problem whennot able to useside mirrors.the mirror problem was a serious hazard.

Consumer stated while driving with the windshield wipers in use, they all of a sudden sped up suddenly to maximum speed, however they did not clear enough water away, after running at high speed for about 10 seconds, the drivers side wiper arm moved up and became tangled with the other arm near the middle, in which both arms were then inoperative, the drivers side arm was loose and it could move easily up and down the windshield, after the repair was made consumer found the nut which holds the drivers side wiper arm to the drive shaft had nothing to lock it in place, consumer believes that the nut could become loose again, which would cause the wiper arm to be inoperative.

Consumer states that while driving at highway speed in a down poor of rain, the drivers side wiper quit, twenty minutes later the passenger side wiper stopped. Consumer states he was almost killed, could not see.took to buick, buick stated that bolts that hold windshield wiper arms came loose.
