Takata recall. As i was driving on the highway my vehicle slowed down on its own in the midst of 70 mph traffic and as i pushed on brakes my vehicle jerked. When i tried to speed back up my car slowly accelerated. I was terrified when it slowed down because the car behind me almost hit me. My car is now give me a warning sign 'stabilize track assist' but i had my breaks check and they were fine. Now i start to smell a burning smell sometimes when i'm driving

My 2012 buick lacrosses newest problem is one that actually scares me. I can be driving along at 65 miles an hour and it will kinda jerk a couple of times, then usually it will flash 'service the stability track' then i lose power steering and it dies. I'm lucky if i can make it to the side of the road.i live in a rural area and the highways around here are two lane with minimum shoulders. So when the car does this it is dangerous. It has happened 5 times now. It will restart after about 15-30 minutes and drive just fine. I've taken it to a mechanic and nothing shows up on the computer, everything looks good. But its not, this is by far the worst of the problems i've experienced with this car and there have been quite a few.

Vehicle shuts down while in motion on highway, streets, etc . Cannot break , steer , etc. Check engine light comes on. Sometimes will start right back up with a jump but will shut down again as driving. Brand new battery . Very unsafe !!! taken to gmc dealership but still not fixed.

The manufacturer was notified and a complaint was filed but they offered no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 900 and the current mileage was 8,000.updated

I recently purchased a 2012 buick lacrosse with easiest. I had it less than 48 hours and had to take it to the dealer due to check engine light coming on. They stated the generator was faulty and needed replaced and there were 7 codes that showed up. After about a week they were finally able to have one shipped from the assembly plant. It was installed on 10/21/11 at which time i went to pick it up. After starting the vehicle i noticed the check engine light on again. They tested it and 5 codes came up which they said are related to the generator or easiest system. The car is still there so they will be trying again to find out the issue. There are several tsb's out there for this issue. Hopefully this can be resolved before i go the lemon law route.

First i kept getting warnings to check had no speedometer, no heat , radio went out. Couldn't tell how much gas was in the vehicle. Screen read lost communication with telecommatics control module.

Vehicle instrument cluster reported traction control service needed, tire pressure monitor service needed and key not detected.i pulled over immediately to look at the tires and all were good.drove car to dealer as i assumed it would not identify the key fob and restart.dealer confirmed warning lights at time of drop off but could not find any stored fault codes.returned car with no corrective action.this is the second time the tpms has indicated a flat tire, usually drivers side rear.tpms false indicators are a serious safety concern.

A message popped up on my dash that said service charging system right before it died and i haven't been able to get it running since cause the 12v battery keeps draining and when i charge the battery separately then reinstall it and start the vehicle i can smell something burning from an unknown place

My battery has needed to be replaced 3 times already with no explanation as to why. Also, service stabilitylink keeps coming on after driving for a while it disappears and come right back. When i am taking off getting on the highway or speeding upmy cat stalls before taking off.

The car stops runningit shuts off. While driving in a parking lot.

2012 buick lacrosse. Consumer received recall for vehicle and is requesting repairs. *tathe engine light illuminated.

Car runs for 10 - 15 minutes then just turns of , wait a couple of minutesand it turns back on like as nothing happenedthen it turns off againdoes same thing engine light turns on for a minute or two then turns off.

2012 buick lacrosse with less than 45k, the car hasnot started for 3 days and car will finally start after the key is left in the ignition for about a minute then the interior lights and screen come on (appearing as though the car was just charged) the car has had limited steering control the "power steering service soon" light appears a long with another warning light that says '' roll drivers window up, then down" the windows will not roll down neither do the locks work in the car.i was driving down the road and had to pull off to the side while all this was taking place. I have contacted gm for 2 days now,a gm rep named "rupert" took the initial call and said " don't worry, it's all covered gm will take care of it" ( these calls are recorded.) i made it to a friends house enough to get gm to call roadside assistance and take my car to the dealer, [xxx] said that it would be best to take my car to the dealer i bought it from. 22 miles away. 8:30 am was when the call was initiated and a call from gm roadside assist was made to me at 9:30am with a 2h eta. The first tow truck broke down and i had to call roadside assistance back once the first tow truck did not show up 30 min past the given eta. Finally the second tow truck arrives at 1310 and takes my car to the dealership. I call the dealership to discuss the rental car promised by gm, the dealership says that gm only covers a rental for 3 days, but it will be at the minimum 7 days before my car is even looked at, so i have to pay out of pocket for a rental car for 4 days until my car is even looked at, that's not including the time to fix the problem if it can be fixed right away. After speaking to 6 tier 2 reps specialist and managers i have no answers with a broken car, a rental that is half the size as my lacrosse and i still have to pay for the rental. Lucky i did not die driving! this needs to be addressed!

All power features shut down while driving on street. Loss partial control of steering, braking power was reduced significantly and engine shut off completely.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary, cranks up when the key is in the ignition and there is a swishing noise around the steering wheel. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to j m jackson chevrolet buick (18996 us-84, andalusia, al 36421) to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The generator control module and **several** other components of the hybrid assist system failed while driving, and subsequently resulted in a loss of power throughout the vehicle. The main battery (in front) also exploded. The vehicle lost power steering, braking, etc. Loss of power steering hampered the driver's ability to coast out of traffic to safety. Had we not been in the left turn lane and had the arrow not turned green as it failed, the car would have died in the middle of a four lane, 45mph road during rush hour, and we probably would have too. Had the driver not been physically fit, it would have been impossible to turn the steering wheel. Not even the hazard lights worked.

Vehicle was excessively rough in transition between hybrid and engine power and would jerk as if someone had placed the vehicle into park while moving.vehicle lost electrical power to ac, radio and other accessories.vehicle shutoff and had to be stopped and placed into park before it would restart.vehicle lost power steering and the steering would stay locked in position until the vehicle rolled about 10-15 feet or until the vehicle transitioned to engine power.these condition repeated multiple times in a two day span, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for service.the dealer replaced a solenoid and an engine mount stating they had excessive wear.the vehicle now stays running, but i continue to have issues with the rough transition between modes.my concern is that this is the root cause of the excessive wear on the other parts and that the vehicle shutdown and steering loss will occur again.if it does, the damage to property, injury, or loss of life could easily occur given the lack of drivability and loss of control of the vehicle when the condition occurs.

We have a 2012 buick lacrosse with eassist.when driving at around 65 mph on the highway without the cruise control engaged the vehicle door locks suddenly unlock and lock, the car downshifts and the rpms go way up and a light comes on that says "service power steering".we have taken it to the dealership at least 3 times for this issue and they say that because there is no code dropped in the computer when it does it and they don't have it happen when they test drive it, they don't know what to do.the car has 53k miles on it and this has probably happened about 2 dozen times.the entire event lasts for about 10 seconds but it is vary scary when you are crusing along at 65+ mph and all of these these events just happen, especially the high rpms, because it's like engine braking as the transmission downshifts.

Since i've owned the car it's been very hard to drive on the hwy once i hit a certain speed it losescontrol very easy also the engine control module keeps failing loss of battery all the time i smell a burning plastic smell coming from the back of the car every so often and the front seat locks up all the time also seems to have a failure to it as welland the 2012 buick lacrosse i own says there no recall when i run the vin but has the same symptoms as the 2012 buick lacrosse that is on recall

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle decreased in speed without warning. In addition, the vehicle stalled on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 13v173000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Driving my car was just great on my 81st day of ownership it all changed i was leaving a red light in vicksburg off the interstate onto warrenton rd i experienced loss of all power to everything in the vehicle and if anyone is familiar with that road the are hardly any room to pull over so bad that if i had a passenger hey would have to climb over to the driver side to get out or else slide right into the mississippi river, talk about bad timing with theexception for the radio the vehicle would only click once no abnormal smells smoke or anything that would cause me to think of any engine damage. After hours of waiting the tow truck came checked the car tried to boost it and couldn't get a charge after getting it home i took the battery to the advance auto parts to charge it and they said it was a dead cell so j brought another battery got it home just for it to click still no crank, it's push to start so it was just one single click and the engine light is the only light on the dash that would illuminate. So i called onstar they told me it needed to be taken to a dealer immediately due to a charging issue after taking it back to the dealership they said it's the motor locked up which is obserd due to the fact there was no indication of it doing anything abnormal before it shut down and with it being new i was told it would shut down before it ran hot and mess up the engine and also makes me wonder why it would even be considered because of the fact of the engine protection mechanism. Now the vehicle is at the dealership just sitting there and i have no way to work and still have to pay car note and insurance on a vehicle i don't even have access to anymore. The dealership is dixon auto and body sales and i'm stuck waiting with nothing to look forward to as far as a ride.

While driving on a city street at 20 mph the engine started knocking and the service charging system light came on. A few minutes later as i was backing into a parking spot in a parking lot at work the car shut off and would not restart. I had the car towed home and a mechanic looked at it and seen that the engine was hydro-locked which he was able to unlock. After checking the spark plugs, coils, valve cover, timing, oil, coolant, alternator, starter, battery, fuse block and wiring harness, the plugs needed replaced, there was metal shavings in the oil and some type of fluid in some of the sensor plugs on the motor. After replacing the plugs and oil and oil filter and cleaning other components i was driving the car to the store and the malfunction light came on along with service charging system and service stability trak i stopped at autozone to have them scan the engine and the code came back with malfunction with spark plug #3 so i bought a new plug and on the way home about 10 mins after leaving autozone the car completely shut down in the middle of the road. My mechanic came and we were able to get it to restart and get it back home which was only a few blocks. After doing another tuneup and getting it to drive again 2 blocks from my place a rod went right through the front bottom of the engine block which then required for a new engine. I called gm, buick, the car lot i got the car from and everyone said there was no longer a warranty on the vehicle so the only choice i would have was to pay $10,000 for a new engine not including labor price. My car insurance didn't cover mechanical failures either so i was stuck with a $30,000 car that wasn't drivable. Cause is unknown. I bought this car in jan. 2015 with 31,000 miles on it and this happened in nov 2015 with 40 some thousand miles on it. Routine maintenance was kept up to date also.

My vehicle stalled out while i was on the express way. Then it would not start without a jump. Check engine light came on along with traction control light. Computer put out a code p062f. Now i have to get a jump almost every other day.

The contact's niece owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the battery warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel as the vehicle would stall. The "service battery charging system" warning message would also appear on the instrument panel as the vehicle would fail to restart. The contact was able to assist his niece by towing the vehicle to his home and replacing the battery; however, the same failure occurred soon after replacement. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 13v173000 (electrical system) however, upon contacting the manufacturer, he discovered that the vin was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

I was driving my car to my house an my car started acting funny. While driving randomly 2 lights came on saying service brake assist and service stabili track. It became extremely hard to steer, the automatic brakes stopped working and it cut off on the highway. I put it in neutral and got to the side of the road. When i cut it back on it had the following warning lights; service brake assist, service stabili track. I almost died and my girl had to pay for a tow truck for me to get home and i was right up the street. I feel like it dangerous and when i told gmc they said its nothing they could do. It is several recalls with vehicles just like mine that are the same year with the same problems but they said they would not help me. My car is not drivable and i can not afford to get all the things fixed that were recalls. I am immobile and it is causing harm to me financially. I trusted gmc and i feel like they should do right by consumers.

Trunk pops open while driving or parked intermittently.

Car was parked in garage for 10 hours. Found with all lights inside and out flashing. Remote entry didn't work. Car wouldn't start. Key stuck in ignition. Overhead light and wipers turned on and off on their own and were making a clicking sound. Trunk popped open on its own, then when shut wouldn't open again with the latch over license holder. Onstar didn't work and when called they couldn't "find" my vehicle for diagnostics. Called for a jump start- jumped with battery pack, started easily and ran 5 minutes then went completely dead as soon as unplugged from power supply. Would not restart. Towed to dealer who is telling me they cannot find anything wrong with my vehicle. I will not be taking this car back until it is fixed. Huge safety concern. Couldn't set parking brake or get onstar or even get key out of ignition while all lights flashed and clicked around me- seemed like an electric or wiring problem to me which can be a fire hazard and what if i'm driving down the road at 70mph and all electric goes dead- steering and all. I have e-assist and second battery doesn't help when don't have power to transfer power. I have had car only for one year brand new.

Un smooth shifting around 30 mph ,causing the car to jerk or brake feels like the assist is not sensing ,causing thehad to dealershipnothing they can do all check outbut the problem is still there.

My car would not start and the malfunction indicator light was illuminated. The battery was charged and i took it for a ride then turned the car off. It would not start again. Waited until the next day and it started it again but there is hesitation in starting. It seems like this is the same thing that is listed as a recall but my vin is not included.

While going around curves the engine lost power several time. Check engine light came on, power steering failed, power brakes failed and engine restarted on its own after a few seconds.

At around 70 mph the doors unlock and lock and the transmission shifts to neutral causing the engine to over rev.

Since i purchased the car in june, 2012, there have been three (3) incidents where there was a gradual loss of battery charge, the vehicle would not start, and the illumination of the malfunction indicator light comes on. The most recent incident was this past saturday, on november 16, 2013.my caris also equipped with e-assist.i do not know if there is a problem with the generator control module, or similar device.each time a certified buick repair service claim they cannot find anything wrong with the vehicle.thanks god i have always been in a safe place when this has occurred, and so far there has been no fire in the trunk of my car, which i understand might occur.thanks for all of your assistance in regards to this urgent matter.updated 12/16/13

2012 buick lacrosse.consumer writes in regards to wiring conduit issues.the consumer stated the wiring conduit failed to meet the firewall at approximately two inches. Which left the taped wires loose. As he looked through the cowl screen, the wires were taped to where the wires entered the body. The tapes wires appeared to have been taped 8-12 inches, which could have caused engine failure., if the wires failed or rubbed together.

We purchase a eassist 2012 buick lacrosse in feb.2017 with 46845 miles.we recently started having several issue either when in slow motion backing up out of a parking space or turning on a city street with the car doing a hard jerk, surging forward then loosing complete power! , not being able to see in the dark as all the light shut off, can'tsteer the car with no power steering, all the while in the line of traffic is definitely a safety issue that has been reported by other people years ago by my research and still no recall?!?! just the other night the same thing happened and we were about 20 minutes from home at night having to travel through the mountains, feeling the car not wanting to accelerate and feeling the surges was quite scary! we have had the car looked at but they couldn't find what was wrong with it. The check engine light came on a few timesover the last month but shut off automatically within the same day. One morning before work i noticed a message on the dic to service stabilitrak. We have had the car in the shop several times but they were unable to detect the issue to fix it or to get the car to do what we are telling them it's doing and the check engine light is no longer on. Again the safety issue with theloss of power while in the line of moving traffic is unacceptable and must be made right with the cars owner!

Bought my 2012 buick lacrosse used last june. Fishtailing presented in the first month. Have brought the car back to dealership multiple times (including within 30 days of purchase) to have it diagnosed and fixed. They say nothing is wrong with it.fishtailing occurs in all conditions and on city streets and highways. Most terrifying is at 60 mph on the highway-the sway can be very violent..and it happens a lot.brought car in again in the fall (5th or 6th visit for this issue). I asked specifically if esc sensor is malfunctioning because what is happening is not normal. They said computer doesn't show a problem. They told me that is the way that this car is supposed to handle. That is when i searched for a recall and found the one below-a very accurate description of what is going on with my car ("consequence") but my vin is not in the recall.gm is trying to decide if they will fix it but they don't have to because my car is not part of the recall.help!nhtsa campaign # 11v404000."summary:gm is recalling certain model year 2012 buick lacrosse passenger vehicles manufactured from june 9, 2011, through july 2, 2011, for failing to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 126, "electronic stability control systems (esc)." the stabilitrak system has an incorrect calibration that may cause the system to not properly detect if a sensor were to malfunction, and the warning light indicating that the system is not operating would not illuminate, as required in the safety standard. Consequence:the improper diagnosing may cause the esc to falsely activate, resulting in sudden changes in vehicle handling and deceleration, particularly at higher speeds, which may cause the driver difficulty in maintaining the vehicle's desired path of travel and desired vehicle speed, and could result in a crash without warning"-------------

I was driving down a highway when out of no where my 2012 buick lacrosse had an engine reduced speed signal come on and i checked the menu to see what it was about and it said the stability track needed to be serviced and i googled what this meant and on google, google read that other buick lacrosse of the same year had a recall when i called about the recall for my car i was told that my car hasn't had any recalls when i just read on google that the same car and year had a recall for the same problem.

My battery has needed to be replaced 3 times already with no explanation as to why. Also, service stabilitylink keeps coming on after driving for a while it disappears and come right back. When i am taking off getting on the highway or speeding upmy cat stalls before taking off.

I was driving my car down a interstate highway when all of a sudden the stability track can on my dash and the car freaked out and breaked really hard ! i stated to spin out and then a loud crack the lower control arm broke on the rear right side . We almost really lost our lives! this is the 12 time this has happen and the mechanics tell me nothing is wrong they can see!! i'm taking it to buick to see what they say this should be recalled asap! somebody will get severely hurt soon omg

The car started stalling and it smell like something was burning. The car would shut off and restart on its own. I replaced the engine out of my pockets and now i am having the exact same problems. First before replacing the engine the serpentine belt broke and i had the repaired, about six month later a bolt broke inside the engine and that is when i replaced the engine. I just got the car back three weeks ago and now it is doing the same thing.

Vehicle cuts off after driving for about an hour and a half or two after it gets hot from driving. Then have to wait a while like 10 15 minutes for everything to cool down and it will start back up again no problem. Drive 5 minutes more shuts down repeatedly. When it shuts down the dashboard displays service stabilitrak control and service anti theft deterrent system. Note. I've put a new starter on. A new throttle body. Mass airflow sensor. Upstream oxygen sensor. Changed the oil, checked wires. Changed the cabin air filter. Still not fixed. No service engine lights what so ever. Service stabilitrak and anti theft is all it's showing.

My car was moving and cut off on me and then automatically restarted while driving. The power steering locked up. This is been a going on fora few days now. Sometimes i restart it myself sometimes it automatically restarts. Engine light is on for a day and then goes off and comes back on again.

Whenever i put fuel in the car it has a hard time starting and will also stall occasionally. It's been happening since june 2018 and i have had a mechanic try to fix it and they can't figure out what's causing it to do this. Are there any recalls for this.

Vehicle stalls and is stopping after the stabilitrak light comes on on the free way and streets. Have taken to dealership several of times to be fixed but the problem comes right back within days. The problem has been persistent since 11/2018 and still has not been able to be fixed as if 5/2019.

My vehicle stalled out while i was on the express way. Then it would not start without a jump. Check engine light came on along with traction control light. Computer put out a code p062f. Now i have to get a jump almost every other day.

Stability tracking light comes on randomly causes transmission to kick and jurk comes to a stop in traffic . Electronic brake light comes on , telling to have serviced. Told dealer about problem .told they couldn't find problem reset computer. Dealer code was. Programed in and continues to act up over and over. Was told it was a short problem. Told me they resolved the problem with a used pump in transmission! sorry to say didn't fix the problem.

While going around curves the engine lost power several time. Check engine light came on, power steering failed, power brakes failed and engine restarted on its own after a few seconds.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. Upon stopping the vehicle, it stalled and hesitated to restart. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called don brown chevrolet (2244 s kings highway blvd, saint louis, mo 63110, (314) 450-7161) where a diagnostic appointment was scheduled. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

I filed a compliant jan. 25, 2021 (#11389775) in reference to my car stalling.which has been continuously happening the majority of the time i have owned the vehicle.i was contacted by my mechanic that my problem fits the issues on recall #13v173000 which my vin # does not pull as a recall.i called gm last year in reference to the same issue which they stated because my vin was not included in the recall that there was nothing they can do.i have noticed that there are quite a few buick lacrosse owners that have the cars that are equipped with this e-assist are having the same problems and are being told that their vin # are not included. It seems that gm has overlooked a lot of cars that should have been included in this recall.i have had my car for a little over 5 years and my car has not operated correctly due to this issue.i have attached the text message i have received from my licensed mechanic.

The approximate failure mileage was 27,000. Updated 02/18/15*lj updated 9/12/2017

The contact owned a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of power and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. Shortly after purchasing this vehicle i found that while rounding a cornerthe power dies and i lost control of the vehicle since i had not power steering or brakes. I was able to steer the car to the berm and waited until power was restored.this has occurred many times. Upon checking with the dealer i was told buick is aware of the problem, but there is no recall.then i began having alot of problems with the stabilitrak - the car loses power and surges. Again the dealer told me they are aware of the issues with the lacrosse, but there was no recall and the cost of repairs was over $2000.

My car was moving and cut off on me and then automatically restarted while driving. The power steering locked up. This is been a going on fora few days now. Sometimes i restart it myself sometimes it automatically restarts. Engine light is on for a day and then goes off and comes back on again.

While driving my car on the highway the car would completely power down. After sitting in the emergency lane for an hour the car would start and operate as if nothing was wrong.i have had the car for almost 5 years and this has been happening the majority of the time.i have spent over $6000 in repairs with no success.

2012 buick lacrosse. Consumer states mechanical breakdown *tgwthe consumer stated while driving, he could smell a burning odor and a very low knocking sound coming from the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. The consumer was informed there was no oil on the dip stick, the rear main seal was leaking and there was oil leaking between the engine and transmission. The consumer also stated a warning light never appeared on the dashboard to warn him of a problem.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. While the vehicle was stationary, the malfunction indicator illuminated without warning. In addition, the vehicle stalled without warning on more than one occasion. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,293.

Just over 70,000 miles on the car. Engine light came on and car was running rough and stalling at idle. Engine light code indicated a cam shaft misalignment. Dealer tore engine apart to find the problem and reported that a few of the valves were either bent or had broken off. Repair would be a complete engine rebuild/replacement.

This incident has occurred 4 times in the 17,000 miles now on the vehicle.each time i was driving on or off a ramp.speed estimate 30 to a max of 40 mph.the car starts to die and i have to struggle to get off to the edge of the road so vehicles do not hit me from behind.it just loses all power but doesn't quite stall.once i pull over, take my foot off the gas, the engine recovers and has ran fine.i do believe i caught a glimpse of the "red light" that came on 4/11 as i was going up a ramp to my doctors office.the light doesn't come on all the way because the car and never totally dies.........it appears to be a car with swerve marks behind.i took this car in the same week on 4/07 and they said the car is operating "as designed" and couldn't locate any problems.it seems to run great except for the 4 mishaps and it really scares me that someday i wouldn't be able to get off the road or a car will hit me from behind.there has to be a problem.i don't drive fast and i am definitely not skidding around the ramp.at age 61 i might not be doing the speed limit even.help me?

I noticed a few wet spots under the vehicle, but i couldn't establish where it was coming from. On 25/nov/2015 while i was driving, the vehicle's temperature gauge suddenly went up, followed by "engine overheat" message and alarm. I was on a long bridge in a construction area, and i was forced to stop on the side in a very dangerous location. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop where it was discovered that there was absolutely no coolant remaining. The shop mechanic added more coolant with a dye and let it run in order to find out where it was leaking from. There was no leak at all. I was told to drive home and come back the next day for a check. I went back the next day, and there was no sign of leakage. After about 1 week i started noticing the wet spots on the the ground again. This time i took it to the buick dealer, and they couldn't find any sign of leaking coolant. I checked on the web and realized that this is a common problem with buicks. Many owners have expressed their frustration with coolant leaks whose course could not be established. I am now stuck with a vehicle that could literally go up in flames any momment. I believe that this is a potential design issue that should be established.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 65 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated, stating that the engine power was reduced. The vehicle began to slow down and failed to accelerate. When the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, the engine began to run properly. The vehicle was not taken to a certified mechanic or dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 152,000.

Seal in front timing cover failed and was leaking oil.

In 3500 miles my car consumed 4 qts of oil. In returned that caused stalling vehicle shut off while in traffic on a highway and engine damage. Gm knows that it's a problem but will only fix the problem if you are under warranty.

Car stalled out twice, lost power steering. I was backing out of a parking lot space; restarted and then stalled while pulling onto street. Fear is it stalling in traffic and getting rear-ended. I took to garner buick where had purchased new. When car was relatively new and still on warranty had had similar issue, but dealer never found problem. Now occurs again. They found two sensors that failed but ok now so told me to drive over weekend and see what happens. I see this as a big safety problem and an accident waiting to happen. Buick should be responsible if this happens, but in the meantime i am the one injured.

The contact owns a 2012 buck lacrosse. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. Additionally, there was an abnormal burning plastic odor inside the vehicle from an unknown source. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact called two local dealers:jim causley buick gmc (38111 s gratiot ave, charter township of clinton, mi 48036, (586) 307-5895) and vyletel buck gmc (40755 van dyke, sterling heights, mi 48313, (586) 698-7530). The contact was informed that there were no hybrid mechanics employed at either dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to other dealers in the area. The failure mileage was 104,800.

As driving at 50 miles/hr on suburban main street, engine lost complete power. All warning lights came on at same time along with check engine icon. My buick lacrosse had no acceleration, no power steering, and no power brakes. The car had no previous warning. No previous reduced performance with engine. No problems with gas economy. Absolutely no warning this would happen. Car still had electricity since speedometer still reading and radio on. After turning off car and restarting no further problems. Gm states no error message in computer. However, this is our second gm car to experience a reduced engine scenario. This time however, it was not reduced just completely off. This is a major safety concern! what if it occurs on the expressway with fast traffic. Luckily it was a local, but busy street, and a sunday. I cannot believe a government agency has not held gm accountable for this problem. A car with sudden power loss is a major public safety concern. Luckily again i'm an experienced driver with a similar incidence in another gm vehicle and knew if i hit the brakes i was a sitting duck. How can a car lose power and multiple posts on internet and no recall ? our buick only has 30,000 miles.

While driving in traffic on city street during rush hour traffic my vehicle completed shut down no warning, engine light poppedon, the wheel became stiff the brakes became stiff. I put it in park, turned the ignition offend started it up again, it started right up and i continued driving for another 4 miles engine light remained on. Pulled into parking shut if off and started it back up but engine light remained on, drove 4 miles home, as turning onto street shut off again wheel locked, brakes stiff, repeat first steps, drove 50 ft, shut off, drove another 50 ft shut off, but then didn't start back up right away. Wait a minute started up but was hesitating. Never had this happen, 130k miles on it.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while traveling 65 mph, the engine and check service warning light illuminated. The vehicle then lost power as the engine stalled. The contact was able to merge to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed the dealer where it was confirmed that the serpentine belt had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the issue. The failure mileage was 8,750 and the current mileage was 13,805.....updated 12/20/12the consumer stated during the second occurrence the engine light and service light illuminated while driving at 65mph. The steering wheel locked. The belt failed again and was replaced. Gm assured the engine wasn't the issue it was the vehicle. Updated 1/2/2013

My 2012 buick lacrosses newest problem is one that actually scares me. But its not, this is by far the worst of the problems i've experienced with this car and there have been quite a few.

The issue i'm reporting has already happened approximately 8 times. First time i'm driving on the highway at 65 mph, and engine on car completely shuts down, driving wheel locks or power steering gets lost and brake pedal stops working gets very stiff and all this happened on a state highway. All that can be done is let the car come to a complete stop in its own all while using all my force to try my best to steer car away from traffic, because it locks and that time i could barely make it turn slightly due to the stiffness. After that, the car's engine wont start but lights and radio work. After constantly turning it in and off engine finally starts up after approximately an hour, but when placed on drive only moves very slow even when stepping on gas it will move at about 1 mph. I turn it off and on several time and then when i finally step on the gas it jerks me forward finally when on drive....

The car was 5 months old. We were going downhill in the mountains of wv. The car seemed to lose power of propulsion and acceleration, so we coasted to a stop on the side of the interstate highway. The car would not go forward or accelerate at all, although the tachometer would move when we accelerated. This was a frightening experience because of the traffic on the highway. We could have easily been hit by a truck. The service people found no defects. For the past two years we have not lost power, but the car's transmission lurches when we stop accelerating and slow to 32 mph. This gives us a ride that is not smooth, and at times is uncomfortable. Others have reported the same issues online, and we are concerned about safety while driving our car, especially at high speeds and on highways. The gm dealership service department denies there is a defect that can be fixed.

I have had multiple issues with my 2012 buick lacrosse, it started sooner than this with my air deflector falling off at 75 mph and almost flipping my car.this time on july 30th my vehicle went completely out from the memory loss, the transmission just stopped working and i was stalled in one of the busiest intersections in my city.as i was trying to get my vehicle to move again the light turned red and an 18 wheeler almost broadsided me.i found out that back in may a safety recall was sent down on my vehicle.the ones with easiest the battery in the back can catch fire and cause problems.i did not even get my notice until i had picked my vehicle up and gm said they weren't going to send notices until they "had a problem" well parts on national back order due to the problem seems like a huge problem. Gm keeps giving me excuse after excuse and does not want to help me in all the problems i have had.my air deflector falling off they said could not happen, i said it did and it is gone, can't reproduce something with nothing there. In front of my neighborhood a cadillac escalade dropped his air deflector too, same side dropped, same side twisted off, nothing in the road to cause the problem and i have the proof yet gm doesn't care and still says it doesn't happen. My mechanic said if it is not installed properly they will just fall off, the air deflectors on gm products are held on by only 2 bolts, the other spots have never been bolted on, now i have a damaged vehicle and gm says it doesn't happen.i have almost been killed three times and my daughter once in this vehicle, how normal is that? please help!!

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the stability track and anti-theft warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted after 15 seconds as per the owners manual instructions and would reprogram itself. The vehicle was taken to heritage auto group (965 veterans memorial hwy ne, rome, ga 30161) three times for repairs and the keys were reprogrammed, the loosened throttle body was tightened, and the water pump was replaced however, the failure recurred. The dealer informed the contact to take the vehicle to another buick dealer for service. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,399.

Ac system went out, compressor and clutch stopped working.

Diesel fuel was accidentally fueled into the car at a gas station having a "hybrid" pump--one having two nozzles.while this was a mistake on the drivers part, a diesel fuel nozzle is designed not to fit into a car with a gasoline engine. This error should have been impossible.on this buick, this is not the case.a diesel hose can be fitted into the filler pipe and left there unattended and will fill the tank.the safety danger in this is that the car will stall when the unleaded fuel already in the fuel lines runs out and the engine receives contaminated fuel.we were lucky and the car reached home first and then could not be restarted.otherwise, the car would have stalled on the road, the power steering would have failed, and the car could easily have been in an accident.this condition cost $1145 to repair. Hi there coming home the other day on highway lost everything ,luckily i was in the right lane no steering very hard to stop !had to get it towed !serpentine belt off !replace belt three times belt keeps coming off ! need help !

We were on i 35 traveling about 70 mph when the motor suddenly lost all power. After about 30 to 45 seconds some power seemed to come back and i was able to drive the car to the service road. External temp. Was 93 and but there was no working air con inside the car. I called onstar. They ran a diagnosis and said my car was not working properly and should be taken to the dealer. I started to drive to the dealership but the car motor stopped completely. No power of any kind. Could not restart. Could not move. The car had to be towed.the dealership diagnosed the problem as a broken serpentine belt. They said a recall was issued 12 days after i bought the car.i never received the notice.i have written to buick and to general motors and requested an explanation.neither have replied.

2012 buick lacrosse. Consumer received recall for vehicle and is requesting repairs. *tathe engine light illuminated.

The contact owns 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact was driving 25 mph when the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning. The contact shifted into neutral and was able to restart the vehicle.the failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who attempted to inspect the failure for over ten days, as well as perform several test drives but was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified who advised the contact that they would send a representative to further inspect the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 1,300 the consumer sold the vehicle back to the dealer, because they were unable to determine the problem. Updated 06/01/12

For about 6 months i have been having problems with stalling after slowing and then accelerating. The first 3 times were not as frightening as the one that occurred on 7-7-2014.returning from a trip to new orleans,as i exited the interstate and began to ramp off, the car stalled to the point of no control of the steering. It lurched to regain speed and finally recovered. We took it to the dealer on 7-10-2014 and they did diagnostic check and found no obvious problem which is difficult to do when the problem is intermittent. I am afraid of driving the vehicle until it is repaired. The dealer said to bring it back if the problem occurs again. My question--what if the next time it causes a crash? can you please help me get resolution as my warranty expires in feb. 2015.

The air conditioning system is defective and requires replacement of the cabin air filter every 5,000 miles.if the air filter is not changed on a regular basis a fowl order smelling like mold/mildew comes through the vents.i've reported this problem to various dealerships and it has not been resolved.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the radio/navigation console screen became black. The on star button and the emergency buttons were also disabled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis where the radio was replaced twice. The failure recurred and the contact was told on subsequent visits that the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified and a complaint was filed but they offered no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 900 and the current mileage was 8,000.updated

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the headlights became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlight bulbs failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred randomly every six months. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I have lost my brake light located in my rear window and now my led brake lights are failing...

When driving radio and dash lights go off for a second and come back on this occurs 5 and 10 minutes apart.

Updated 1/16/15

Purge solenoid valve had to be replaced the defective device caused the vehicle to loose power while driving and caused long engine cranking after re-fueling the vehicle.

Sometimes car is dead in the morning, unable to jumpstart, 1 hour later car starts right up, drives fine for a while then dies, has died while waiting at a stop sign. I have taken it to two auto shops including the dealer. The first auto shop could find nothing wrong, the dealer told me it was my battery (which was only 1 year old). He replaced the battery but my car continues to randomly die.

Affecting all 2.4l gm motors- the exhaust manifold will crack just before the catalytic converter and leak deadly exhaust fumes into the cabin. You may experience a smell at first but then it goes away and symptoms will typically include headache, nausea and vomiting. Seek medical attention immediate as carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless and deadly.this has been seen on multiple vehicles a week in the shop.

My vehicle is stalling and takes a long time to crank after re-fueling.i took the vehicle to a local dealership and they are suggesting that the purge valve selonoid needs to be replaced, how may other complaints have been reported?please advise if there will be any action taken regarding this. As soon as possible.

While driving downhill,in mountains, i was turning right on a curve at 60 mph when i lost all acceleration. The vehicleslowed to approximately 30 mph in about 10 seconds. The motor was still running but at an idle speed.after about 15 seconds, the accelerator started working again.cars were behind me honking,it scared the --- out of me.the next time it happened (4.23.2015), i was changing freeways, turning to the right at about 30 mph, the accelerator again stopped working with 4 cars behind me, one almost hit me in the rear, there was no place to pull off to. Then after about 15 seconds the accelerator started to respond again, so i could drive again,i took it to the dealer and informed them what had happened, they told me that they had not heard of any problem as i reported. They did an inspection of the vehicle, checked connections of wiring. I informed them of the same problems reported on the internet that i found, they said you can't believe everything you read on the internet? they could not duplicate the problem.

Whenever i put fuel in the car it has a hard time starting and will also stall occasionally. It's been happening since june 2018 and i have had a mechanic try to fix it and they can't figure out what's causing it to do this. Are there any recalls for this.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that when she stopped the vehicle, the driver's side door independently locked and could not be unlocked. The contact became trapped in the vehicle for quite some time. The failure was recurring.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 1,000 and the current mileage was 6,000.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the tailgate inadvertently unlatched and opened without warning. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. While driving 31 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle violently jerked forward without warning. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 350.

My vehicle stalled out while i was on the express way. Then it would not start without a jump. Check engine light came on along with traction control light. Computer put out a code p062f. Now i have to get a jump almost every other day.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle rolled away and hit the wall of a house. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 9,000. Updated 8/27/14 updated 08/29/2014

The engine light had come on and i went to a repair shop to have it repaired. I was told to bring it back the next day and on my way back the charging light came on. I was on the highwaydoing 70 miles an hour in a curve when all systems went down the instrument panel lit up and i lost braking, steering and all other functions. And i was very lucky to not have wrecked the car.this is a very dangerous situation that needs to be corrected.

Just recently got my car fully service and within 2 weeks later i was driving my vehicle and it started decelerating and shifting abnormal. All my fluids was visible in my car and its not shifting properly, wont let me catch speed past 33mph, wont go in reverse and also sometimes it stall to go forward. I believe this vehicle should be on recall due to safety driving issues. I have 2 family members that own the same kind of vehicle like me and they are experiencing the same issues with they car. Got it towed to dealership and i was told that my transmission would need repair or get a new one. Havent heard anything back to why so many people having the same issues so figure i would give this a shot so these vehicles can get inspected. During the time of my issues, my vehicle was in motion on a busy street and it seem like as i make a turn it wouldnt get no better. Wont let me catch speed once it decelerate and wont reverse at all(i can put it in reverse gear but its not backing up at all).

My car was moving and cut off on me and then automatically restarted while driving. The power steering locked up. This is been a going on fora few days now. Sometimes i restart it myself sometimes it automatically restarts. Engine light is on for a day and then goes off and comes back on again.

Aprox. 1130 pm on august 27th, 2015,i was driving (60 mph) home from work and lost all power stearing, i almost had a accident and cashed my 2012 buick lacrosse due to the loss of power steering. I made it about a half of a mile down the street and called 911 for assistance since it was dark. I had to call a tow trcuk to come get my car and take it to the local repair shop. On friday august 28th the dealership said they had to order my part it was the surpintine belt and it wouldnt be there until monday august 31st. On monday 8/31/2015 the dealship tech says it may be a motor issue but wont know until he tried the belt first. Monday 8/31/15 the auto tech said the dealership did not have the tool. On tuesday 9/1 the dealership said they have the tool but now my car needs not only a belt but the tensioner as well. The dealership is quoting me a price of over $650 plus the cost of my rental car. After some research i found a bulletin in march 2012 for buick lacrosse and regals with faulty surpintine belts made of tensil or copper that needed to be replaced by spetember 2012, i did not purchase my car untl november 2012. Now gm is refusing to fix the part enven though i still have a 100k mile powertrain warranty and they have the broadcast notification of a faulty part. Now gm refuses to pay for the part and/or my rental car. I almost had a injury due to the malfunction. I need assistance. Please advise.

I parked the vehicle in parking bay at a gas station and went inside. I was in there approximately 3 minutes and a gentleman game into the building and asked did anyone in there own a buick lacrosse. I said it was mine, he told me it had rolled out of the parking bay towards his mercedes, he had stopped my vehicle.i subsequently found i had turned the engine off while the vehicle was in drive so there was no braking effect. Where i had parked the pavement was a very gentle slope so i did not notice any movement of the vehicle when i alighted from it.this model has remote wireless key so you do not insert any key to either start or stop the engine. To start you have to have the key within the vehicle be in either park or neutral and depress the foot brake and then press the start button.what i have found is when turning off the engine the vehicle can be in any of the following, drive, reverse, neutral or park. So if you happen to be in anything but park and then turn off the motor then the vehicle is free to roll away with the possibility of it hitting something or worse still hitting a person.with all automatic vehicles i have previously owned you needed to put the vehicle in park before you could remove your key and after exiting the vehicle you knew it was effectively braked and was not going to roll away.i believe this matter needs addressing before it does result in a possible fatality.to alleviate the possibility of the vehicle moving either the engine/transmission management system needs to be altered so that you must put the vehicle in park before turning off the engine or at the very least there should be either an audible alarm or visual alarm to alert the driver that the driver has not left the vehicle in a safe condition. After contacting the dealer it was determined this anomaly applied to all of these vehicles.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. After parking and attempting to exit the vehicle, the vehicle independently rolled back and crashed into the vehicle in its rear. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 25,000.

This is a 4cyl car with easiest.unintended acceleration - the car while going downhill or sometimes uphill, accelerates on its own after releasing the gas pedal. I almost hit another car once because of this.jerking - the car while decelerating from 50-40 mph to 30-20 mph jerks after releasing the gas pedal (with an intention of decelerating) or while applying brakes.this has been happening regularly since i bought the car in oct 2012.

At around 70 mph the doors unlock and lock and the transmission shifts to neutral causing the engine to over rev.

2012 buick lacrosse.consumer writes in regards to all wheel drive light illuminated.the consumer was informed the entire rear end needed to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the driver side seat belt failed to retract properly and that the seat belt was not properly securing the driver. The vehicle was taken to more than one dealer several times and they were unable to repair the seat belt. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The failure mileage was not available.

2012- buick lacrosse- 7,000 miles--while driving last week and stopped at a rest area, the anchor bolt on my drivers seatbelt came off from the bracket at the bottom of the seat- i hand tightened the bolt- and plan to take to the dealer this week.

Driver side seat belt buckle would not lock, which renders airbags inoperable. Involved my safety; i considered equipment defect. Dealer said seat belt kit was necessary to repair and charged me $235.60.

Headrests are angled too dramatically and impair visibility, driver comfort and also seem to be a safety risk. The angle is not adjustable, and the discomfort provided renders them unusable, forcing the driver to lean forward perpetually. They are not removable, and can only go up/down, which actually makes it even more uncomfortable.

My vehicle is stalling and takes a long time to crank after re-fueling.i took the vehicle to a local dealership and they are suggesting that the purge valve selonoid needs to be replaced, how may other complaints have been reported?please advise if there will be any action taken regarding this. As soon as possible.

Head rest is angled too far forward - there is no way to adjust the angle (only up and down height). This creates neck pain, back pain, etc. There is no way to adjust where my head is not forced into my chin if i fully rest my shoulders on the seat. I fear a severe neck injury if ever in a crash in this vehicle.

The "blind spots" on this vehicle are outrageous. The front seat head restraint are so big it is not possible to look out the drivers side rear window when backing up. I would remove the headrests to make the car safer for others ( the ones you can't see), but they cannot be removed.the deck lid is so high that the rear view mirror shows only one half ofthe outside - the rest of the mirror shows the interior of the car. The pillar between the rear side windows and the back window is so wide this also obscures the view when backing up. The vehicle is great when going forward, it is a marvel of technology. This is all spoilt when designers take preference over common sense.

I purchased this car from another car dealer in early july 2014 with 19,000 miles. I noticed that the vehicle seemed to be sluggish on acceleration. I first thought it was the electronic parking brake not releasing. After doing some research i found another case where some else had their car in for the same issue. They said it was the brake pedal bushing not allowing the pedal to disengage the brakes once they were applied. I was told to drive to the dealer even though i told them it was unsafe. By the time my wife drove the car in the brakes were about to caught fire because they were not releasing. They replaced the bushing and turned the rotors that should have been replaced. I am taking it back into the dealership for warred rotor would be my best guess; this is a fire hazard waiting to happen. There was no fire but if she would have driven another 10 miles the brakes would have been on fire. I arrived at the dealership twenty minutes after my wife and the brakes were very hot and smelled the same. I checked yes on fire because there would have been one shortly.

When driving my car on declining grades the "traction control" light will appear and the car's front brakes will automatically slow the vehicle down. This happened on 1/21/2018 most recently and almost caused an accident as the person behind me wasn't ready for my car to come to a complete stop.

The engine light had come on and i went to a repair shop to have it repaired. I was told to bring it back the next day and on my way back the charging light came on. And i was very lucky to not have wrecked the car.this is a very dangerous situation that needs to be corrected.

All power features shut down while driving on street. Loss partial control of steering, braking power was reduced significantly and engine shut off completely.

After pressing the brake pedal down, the pedal does not return to the home position. It remains depressed and the brakes will only disengage after i manually lift the brake pedal. This occurs when the weather is warm out and occurs in all stages of driving when this happens (stationary, in motion, etc).

The contact stated that the brake assist warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure but replaced the brake pads and brake sensor. They also replaced and reprogrammed the electronic brake control module and electronic control module. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 15,019 and the current mileage was 23,200.

The contact owns a 2012 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 60 mph and attempting to make a turn, the steering lost power without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (coachella valley buick/gmc, indu, california) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle operated as programmed bythe manufacturer. The failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

The contact stated that while reversing, the vehicle stalled and all lights on the instrumental panel flickered and the battery warning light illuminated. The contact also advised that the steering wheel lost power steering ability while driving. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed.the vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 45,000.

While going around curves the engine lost power several time. Check engine light came on, power steering failed, power brakes failed and engine restarted on its own after a few seconds.

On april 23, 2014, my wife and i were running errands in our hometown in our 2012 buick lacrosse with easiest. I noticed the car wasn't going into auto-stop and the steering became ?tight?. When we got home, i started to drive the car to the in-town dealership where we bought the car. When i backed the car to the bottom of the driveway, i could not turn the steering wheel. I put the car back up into the driveway and called a tow truck to deliver the car for service. The diagnosis was that the camshaft intake position sensor had failed. This apparently interacted with the electric power steering in such a way as to disable it. While the circumstances of this failure were not serious, it could have been a different story had we been on the highway traveling at 70+ mph.

All power features shut down while driving on street. Loss partial control of steering, braking power was reduced significantly and engine shut off completely.

New car..had continued issues of tilt wheel unlocking in locked position. Dealer had told us..we were the only ones with the problem."did service..no records..drove new car again..same problem..steering wheel unlocked..caused new car to go off into the ditch due to loss of sudden control. Called dealer..they sent up a tow truck..i refused to drive new car till corrected. I searched internet..found others with same problems.. The dealership supplied us with a free rental..4 weeks..and finally replaced the entire steering column assembly..no charge under new car warranty. The problem never occurred again...car is still driven...and no problems..have 18000 miles now. The steering issue was reported to nhtsa..but never was followed up by anyone..no reply..nothing..

The a-pillar of the vehicle is extremely wide and obstructs visibility. The vehicle is dangerous to drive, and the width of the pillar has caused us to pop 3-tires (one left, two right) (three separate times/three different drivers) due to an inability to adequately gauge turns as a result of the pillar's width. It is an extreme design flaw and action should be taken against gm for such a negligent design. No matter the seat position, you simply do not have adequate frontward visibility to the left or right (it's just one giant frontward blind spot). Additionally, the c/d pillars are also extremely wide and obstructive, and the rear deck is too high. This design has not changed for even the 2014 models and provides an inherent safety risk.

On tow occasions, while moving ahead at approx. 10 mph, in front of the grocery store, an individual was crossing in front of my vehicle and the post between the driver's side and the windshield being so wide, obstructed the view of him/her crossing the drive lane. My wife was riding in the passenger seat and she was able to him/her and alerted me, because i could not due to the post being so wide. It blocked my view of him. Another incident occurred with a car pulling out from the right side being partially blocked by the post on the right. It is a hazardous design blocking approx. 20% of forward view across the front of the vehicle.. Updated 08-27-12

After starting engine and placing gear in drive, the caraccelerated on its own so fast that it left tire marks on the pavement from where the acceleration started.the car passedthrough the parking lot lane, over two curbs, slightly scraping a small post in the parking lot causing the damage to the right side of the car.after trying to stop the car by applying the brakes and shifting to neutral and the car running over two curbs and steered into bales of hay which helped bring the car to a stop, shut the engine off and got out of the car. The car was towed to the buick dealer and buick div. Was informed and the following is the number assigned to the case by buick:[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

With no impacts, the car was parked, and when placed in r to back up, the entire front bumper, grill, lights wheel wells and fog light wires dropped off the vehicle. All "rubber connectors to the chassis were fatigued. 30189 miles on the car. A clearly defined defective design to hold the entire front of the car by six flimsy, thin and plastic or rubber connectors. Cost $1300, to me, $500. A flimsy attachment for the front end. A disaster if car was moving at any speed.

Driver was on a large freeway in traffic, when the accelerator pedal broke off. Driver obtained control of the vehicle but not before the car surged into the vehicle in front of it. The pedal completely broke off and was laying in the floorboard. Car was purchased brand new and had only been driven for 6 months. Car was towed to dealership where purchased and is being investigated to determine the case of the pedal failure. No answer yet.

2012 buick lacrosse.consumer writes in regards to vehicle doors issue.the consumer stated the lower corner of the door was square, forming a point. If the door was not fully opened, as the case may be in a narrow parking space, a person entering the vehicle can be injured by the pointed surface.

The hood began to open while the car was being driven. The car has been in the shop 7 times and general motors sent out an engineer to look at the problem. I think g, m, should have notified your agency after the car had been in the shop that many times. My mother is 77 , my father is 83 ( us army re-tired e-9 ) and i am looking for help from your agency on their behalf.

Whenever i put fuel in the car it has a hard time starting and will also stall occasionally. It's been happening since june 2018 and i have had a mechanic try to fix it and they can't figure out what's causing it to do this. Are there any recalls for this.

Letter from congressman murphy on behalf of constituent re 2012 buick lacrosse malfunction.

Letter from congressman kirk on behalf of constituent re 2012 buick lacrosse car repairs.repair bill is illegible.

Sometimes while cornering, almost always a right corner, my car will act like anti skid is enabled...i lose power and slow way down,, then my car speeds back up on its own, it does it while engaged to anti skid or not. When i put brand new tires on, it quit doing it, but it's doing it again. I have had this car into the dealer with this complaint about 3 years ago...no issues or recalls were on file at that time. This rear toe link recall is what my car is mimicking, but my vin # is not listed.

When driving my car on declining grades the "traction control" light will appear and the car's front brakes will automatically slow the vehicle down. This happened on 1/21/2018 most recently and almost caused an accident as the person behind me wasn't ready for my car to come to a complete stop.

Car stalled out twice, lost power steering. I was backing out of a parking lot space; restarted and then stalled while pulling onto street. Fear is it stalling in traffic and getting rear-ended. While driving my car on the highway the car would completely power down. After sitting in the emergency lane for an hour the car would start and operate as if nothing was wrong.i have had the car for almost 5 years and this has been happening the majority of the time.i have spent over $6000 in repairs with no success.
