Vehicle completely dead after all types of electrical messages displayed when trying to start.car was stationary both times. This first happened early feb 2016;then repeated similar scenario 20 days later.car was towed both times.low mileage 52,278 miles.messages generic, dealer could not determine problem and contacted the gm customer center also.nothing done first time.second time dealer started updating all the electronic modules-although again no specific cause and effect could be identified. Modules updated (ebcm, bcm ecm, etc.about 27 modules.thus far car has not been dead again with exception of battery issue (already another warranty replacement for original). My concern:if these electronic modules (couple thousand of dollars) arethe problem, how come it was not a recall vs repair.owner should not be a hostage to a software update for a repair to make the car start?of note;my car has had 21warranty fixes with my low mileage.gm prior to this electronic failureextended my warranty out due to the many issues after i was forceful.basically, gm engineers are producing a car where they cannot definitively state the problem, but start trying everything.these module updates would cost couple thousand dollars and lots of time in shop.note:my auto is a 4 wd larger engine buick; fob vs key so somewhat fewer on the road.my auto was one of the first 2011 that rolled off assembly line probably but very similar to the 2010 (first year out with the current body style).the other 21 warranty jobs (driver seat, passenger side traffic warning message, oil leaks, transmission leak at same time as engine oil leak, problems with doors opening, radio nav system, right rear hub bearing pad, and a couple driven by the actual repair visit.

This vehicle stalls/cuts off while driving. It can occur while driving or taking off from a stand still.it maintains a stored history code p0014 and after service will reappear. Especially dangerous while driving in the national capital area. Buick has a notice about the engine control module and that has to be reprogramed for that vehicle model and my vin number falls within that bulletin. The problem is that it doesn't work and the vehicle shuts off at a moments notice. Right now i'm afraid that my life or someone else is ir real danger. Unfortunately i'm not the only one. While searching for a solution i found numerous owners with the same problem/ same complaint. I hope it doesn't take the loss of life to address this issue.

Defroster,heat,a/c,fan speed, recirc, heat/cool seats functions failed (stopped working completly) while driving in a snow storm on january 12, 2016 on highway us 131 to traverse city, mi. Found recall information nhtsa # 11v149000. Brought to dealer. Dealer said not coverred under recal due to vin #, and owner cost of $400 + to repair. Contacted buick customer care. Spoke with asia and leslie on 1/15/16, who said gm could not help. I described language of the recall as being identical to the safety hazard described in the nhtsa language: "windshield defrosting and defogging systems" on these vehicles, the software in the electronic climate control module may disable the ability to adjust the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system settings. If this happens, the driver willnot be able to control the cooling and ventilation for the vehicle. Consequence: if this condition affects the defrost system when it is required, it may decrease the driver's visibility and could result in a crash."

This vehicle has the push button keyless start. Page 10-89 of the owner manual describes the method to move the transmission lever from park to neutral without starting the engine, for the purpose of towing the vehicle or moving it without starting the engine (if the car battery is dead or the engine will not start for any other reason), such as onto a tow truck for transport to a service center.the manual says to set the parking brake (this cannot be done if the car battery is dead because the parking brake is electrically operated), select the accessory mode (by pushing the start button to show an amber light as described on page 9-20), then squeeze the small lever on the front of the transmission lever, and move it from park to neutral.this does not work.the lever cannot be moved out of park.applying the foot brake does not help.i took the car to liberty buick in peoria, az, and described the problem to salesmen and service advisors.none of them could make it work or explain why.this procedure was tried with another lacrosse with the keyless start feature and it also did not work, verifying that this is a problem with all lacrosse keyless start vehicles.this procedure works with a "keyed start" vehicle if the key is turned to the 'on' position (not the 'accessory' position as stated in the manual). Apparently, insufficient testing was done on this feature and it was not correctly programmed into the electronic system of the vehicle.the interlock between the engine, brake, and transmission lever is not released in the accessory mode and there is no 'on' position for the keyless ignition without starting the engine.this means that if my car is in my garage or on a road and the battery is dead or the engine will not start, i will be unable to move it out of the garage or out of traffic or onto a tow truck.

While driving uphill in the winter, went to turn into neighborhood at top of hill, just as turning the vehicle, vehicle died. Everything stopped working. Engine shut off, brakes wouldn't work, steering wheel locked, lights went off, then wouldn't start. Then the vehicle instructed to roll driver window down then up, roll right window down then up. Almost like it was trying to reboot. But this happened in the middle of driving. After trying a third time to start, it started. All information was gone, no mileage, oil life gone, tripometer gone. Drove vehicle home, just a block away and been too scared to drive the vehicle since.

2011 buick lacrosse.consumer writes in regards to vehicle integrated flip key system.the consumer stated he noticed a problem while driving his mother's vehicle.in order to activate the ignition, the driver must extend the buick integrated flip key. After the flip key was inserted into the ignition, the driver must turn the buick integrated flip key device to start the vehicle. During the process, the driver often inadvertently placed pressure with his or her thumb or index finger on the trunk latch disengagement switch. The switch disengaged the trunk security latch. However, the trunk did not open, to the point where it was noticeable to the driver or passengers. However, while stopping, the un-latched trunk inevitably opened.

The contact owns a 2011 buick lacrosse. While driving at various speeds, the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be diagnosed. The contact stated that the error codes were removed from the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to dealer where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that the battery of the vehicle had to be replaced on several occasions, but the dealer could not diagnose why the batteries were failing. While driving to have routine maintenance performed on the vehicle, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to move. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was unknown.

Potential fatal safety hazard with door lock pull toggles when an accident disables the battery.in normal operation, the electrical system always retracts the door pull toggles completely into the top of the door during any shift of the vehicle out of park. The pull toggle disappears completely into the door with no portion exposed. If the vehicle battery is disabled, as in minor crash, the electric windows cannot be operated and the door cannot be open manually. The occurpant is locked within the vehicle until a window is broken out. There is simply no way to override the electric system to exit the vechile. Pulling the door handle does not override the electric door locks.a simple fix would merely be to make the plastic pull toggles 3/4 in. Longer so that somone can grab the toggle and pull it to the unlocked position even though the vehicle had been electrically locked.

Driving 60 mph on the highway. Suddenly the information panel flashed stabilitrak service required (or similar) then low power mode. Car went from 60 to 30 mph on the highway.unable to speed up.needed to pull over to the side of the road.turned car off. Tried to restart and it wouldn't restart for several tries.restarted and still said low power and was idling low.tried again and was normal. This has happened several more times and always is similar. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all in a 30 mile trip, sometimes it happens 3 times. Very dangerous! could be rear ended! i have read many other accounts of this happening in the 2011 buick lacrosse. After this the check engine light stayed on. When i had the auto parts store run diagnostics it flagged multiple misfires, throttle position sensor 3 times, power control module indicator, traction control. It seems this is a flaw in this car. I attempted to get a picture of the satbilitrak sensor indicator light, but it flashes on and off pretty quickly and you never know when it will happen.

The contact owns a 2011 buick lacrosse. While driving 35 mph, the trunk opened independently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure continuously recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Every time i will drive for so long i'd lose all power radio dash lights headlights everything and start blinking and going out and finally the car was just die. Come to find out it is electrical issues and it's costing me more than the car is worth to even get it back from the shop.

The contact owned a2011 buick lacrosse. The contact stated the vehicle had a push button start engine and when he pushed the button to turn the vehicle off, the engine would start while he was walking away. The vehicle remained on for ten minutes during the last two times the failure occurred; however, the dealer stated it was computerized and offered no assistance. The manufacturer was notified and also stated it was all computerized and offered no assistance. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 435.

Vehicle has been operating normally. It just came off warranty a few weeks back. Wife came home and parked the vehicle in the driveway. Went out several hours later to go somewhere and it would not start. There were no warnings of a problem. When we turned the ignition key we heard a few clicks and then nothing. Lights we noticeably dim. We were able to get it started with a jumper and let it run for a while. It will be serviced in the morning. It appears the problem is with the battery or there is an electrical problem in the system. While we were running, we checked to see if there were any codes and could not find any. The car was parked on about a 5% incline facing down. We used the incline to move the car to a flat area where we were able to jump start.

Car was parked in our garage at 2:30 pm. I went into the garage at 7:45 pm and found it extremely hot (115f), opened the garage doors and tried to start the car to get it out of the garage. Would not start and called aaa for a tow. Aaa suggested calling police & fire. Police came and they called fire dept. Temp under hood registered 150f and co alarm in basement started to go off. Firefighters put on protective gear, entered house and their co monitors went off immediately. Gas line shut off, house vented. Car eventually towed to dealership nearby. Gas company came that evening to restart and inspect dryer, water heater, stove and found no co problem. Have yet to hear from the dealer (flemington buick) as to cause, issues, resolution. Update 9/15/15*cwthe consumer has since traded the vehicle. Updated 10/15/15

While driving, using the navigation system for directions, the display changed from day mode to night mode rendering it unreadable.the time of day was at least two hours after dawn and was was overcast.the display remained dark for nearly an hour.this also affected the backup display as well, rendering it useless. The radio was also useless as stations could not be selected.

When turning left at a traffic light, my car lost power and i wasn't sure i was going to make it around the corner.after a few seconds my car regained power.45 minutes later, i made a right turn into heavy traffic and then felt a sudden lurch.i looked in the rear view mirror and saw that my trunk had popped open.i managed to get off the highway, parked the car and turned off the ignition.i got out, closed the trunk, got back in the car, and fastened my seatbelt.before i could close the door, the trunk popped open again.this occurred three times before the trunk finally stayed closed.a few minutes later, i parked the car, opened the door, started to get out and the warning chime sounded.i got back in and saw that the on the console shift lever that indicates your car is in park was lit up even though the car was turned off.in order to get the light to go off, i had to restart my car and then turn it off again.next i pushed the onstar phone button and asked to call my home.i got a busy signal.i called a second time and my husband at the number i was calling, heard me telling onstar call my home' but i couldn't hear him trying to talk to me.all of these things happened within 1 1/2 hours. The next day, i found that i could not lock the door by touching the lock spot on the outside door handle.then i could not unlock the car door by pulling on the door handle when the key was in my pocket.i have had the car for 1 year and eight months and the driver's memory seat has often lost its memory.sometimes just one button but most of the time both buttons.prior to this i had been having trouble with my trunk.i'd leave my car parked in a public parking lot and come out to find my trunk wide open. On may 3rd the gm dealer replaced a part hoping to fix this problem.

On more than 10-15 occasions i've experienced intermittent failure of the keyless ignition, whereby there is only one click and then no ability to start my vehicle unless i continue to press the button while turning off any and all ac, radio, power etc. I purchased the car used 1 year ago in excellent condition but noticed that it already had a new battery that was installed earlier in 2013.the vehicle is a 2011 and that seemed very odd. What i've noticed is that the battery terminals continually corrode mostly on the "positive" terminal and i've removed and brushed them several times and tighten, and that seems to work when it just absolutely won't start. Big inconvenience when i'm usually dressed in a suit...unfortunately, i've taken it to three different gm buick dealerships over the past month and a half and it never will reproduce the defect when i'm there, so they've not been able to evaluate and remedy. Noticed service bulletin pi-0412 for parasitic drain/discharge so now i'll take it to another dealership to see if they can determine the cause based on this.very frustrating to not be able to have this diagnosed and corrected before i potentially find myself totally stranded away from home.

Federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 103 windshield defrosting and defogging system and i don't know if its effecting my a/c to i have taken it everywhere to get fix and no one fixes it completely stills blow cool not cold like it is supposed to.

Our family's 2011 buick lacrosse only has 57k miles on it, and the engine already has permanent irreversible damage from a manufacturer oversight in which the timing chain "skips time."while driving on the highway, the car unpredictably lost all power, including power brakes and power steering. I quickly muscled the car to the shoulder and came to a complete stop, but this created a very dangerous situation for our family as we were forced to cross traffic, at speed, to reach the road shoulder.a day prior to this incident the vehicle went into "reduced power" mode while traveling uphill, cutting speed from 55mph to 35mph, backing up traffic. Cars were passing and honking in a double yellow-lined stretch of road. We subsequently shouldered the car, shut off its power and it seemed to be operating properly until our destination, but we only had 3 miles left to travel.the timing gear is pressed-on instead of keyed-on. This can cause the timing chain to "skip time," damaging the engine and causing erratic engine behavior. Our mechanic has seen our exact engine issue with the 3.6l 6-cyl engines in various other gm vehicles. The problem is widespread enough to cause engine rebuild companies to key-on the timing gear, instead of gm's typical press-on process. Our mechanic advises that keying-on the timing gear is known to fix the original issue of the timing chain dangerously "skipping time." one such company, recommended by our mechanic, is jasperengines.com.i hope that the nhtsa can investigate this issue and hold gm accountable for this dangerous oversight for which gm fails to acknowledge or address. My complaint is on record at gm's corp service center with phone number 866-790-5600 - ticket #[xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Excessive oil consumption, piston and piston rings. Burning 3-4 quarts of oil every 2000 or less miles. After checking i find out this is not covered under warranty because it was not make at a specific plant. I have approximately 95,550 miles. I thought buicks were good cars and stood behind their product. This is quiet expensive, can you help? the oil light doesn't even come on when it got that low. It started acting funny and when checked, low oil, no . I have kept my vehicle very well maintained. The first time it happened around 10/16/17 and after looked at again 1/8/18drips or leaks

The car was just purchased on 112619 and the day i bought i got warning light on dash next day car is in reduced power mode, took back to carmax to have this issue resolved they cleaned tps adv it was dirty poor contact. Two days later the light is back on this time the car is sent to buick dealership in gilbert they replaced the throttle position sensor and i was told issue is fixed 24 hours later car is back in reduced power mode

I was going 50 miles an hour down the road when i approached an intersection and stabilitrak came on and then stated reduced engine power. At which time i lost all power to get through intersection. Almost got hit by 3 directions trying to get my car out of the road. I finally coasted to the side of the road turned car off and back on drove for another mile before it did it again. This is not safe. I do not know what is wrong with it. I am now stuck at work i do not dare to drive it.

My vehicle a 2011 buick lacrosse cxl 2.4l engine rpo laf.i have a problem with the engine making noise due to balance shaft chain special coverage recall 12313 where back then they included in the recall the balance shaft chain, tensioner, and also the engine mount high pressure fuel pump, then to say this bulletin has been revised to remove special coverage adjustment for the fuel pump that is now included in voluntary emissions recall 43180. Updates have been made to the part information, service procedure, and warranty transaction information sections. Please discard all copies of bulletin 12313b. Came the revised 12313b and now as of september 2016revised again to 12313c. When you look at the 43180 it does not include the 2011 buick lacrosse with the same engine rpo laf. I've called gm various times and spoke even to the gm dealer, my car was even at the dealer sitting there for weeks to only say it's not covered that i have to wait for it to get recalled. My vehicle has the same exact symptoms, the oil smells like gas, and i can't shut off the vehicle, it stays running and the only way to shut it off is putting it on drive then shutting it off.all this due to on some 2010-2011 model year buick lacrosse, chevrolet equinox, and gmc terrain; and 2011 model year buick regal vehicles, equipped with a 2.4l engine (laf), the chrome layer on the balance chain pins may wear, allowing the chain to stretch. This would cause an engine noise, and if left untreated, could cause the chain to break, leading to engine damage.this is causing the engine to not run right and a hard time to accelerategm case #8-2573359821

Loss of engine power while driving on highway, sudden warning stabilitrak needs service, engine power reduced.speed dropped to 30 mph on highway from 70mph traffic flow.could not accelerate at all to keep up w/traffic, had to pull onto shoulder to avoid getting rear ended. Could not accelerate enough speed to merge back onto highway light turned off.dangerous!!!

My car stated that my trakstabilty system needed to be serviced then reduced engine power lite up. Car would not shift and would not increase in speed over twenty miles per hour. I had to pull over and turn my car off leave it parked until i could get it to the dealership. The throttle body was defective. This has happened on other 2011 lacrosses and their is a special service bulletin with free repair but for some reason not in mine. I had to pay 500 dollar to replace this. My car only has 74000 miles on it and i could have been injured if i wasn't in a place where i could turn my vehicle off safely.

Electronic climate control system allows windshield to become fogged over and i cannot see to drive or control hvac system. I cannot control the heating, cooling and ventilation. Example: the system seems to blow or allow warm air in cabin when the a/c is on set at 68-72 degrees. This is when car is in motion and at idle on any road i travel. I just found out about this important safety recall.safety recall is listed for 2011 buick lacrosse on march 4, 2011 nhtsa campaign number: 11v149000 software in electronic climate control affects defrost system reducing drivers visibility and could result in crash. Unable to control hvac system.second problem is engine/ emissions, catalytic converter, sensor errors. All have caused check-engine light to come on.

Twice after filling up with gas, my car was oils not start at the pump. Each time i had to wait several minutes before it would actually start. The second time it happened, i waited, it started then immediately quit again. There is a very hard start when it attempts to start as well. The engine light came on then immediately went off. I took the car directly to the dealership where it had to remain running until they could get it in. This was 540p on friday, may 25th before a holiday.

2011 buick lacrosse (60,000 miles - properly maintained by 73 year old man) broke down on interstate hwy. While vacationing in knoxville, tn - buick begins to stall and the engine light came on (was flickering and no acceleration).we stopped immediately at a gas station and called aaa - who towed us to a certified aaa repair/tow company. We initially suspected it would be the fuel pump or filter . Mechanic in knoxville who is a ase certified mechanic for 40 years said it wasn't the fuel pump so he put his diagnostic testerand determined there were more problems and started to take apart the engine....and found the main valves were broken and fell into the pistons.engine failure and he said in his 40 years this had happened only 3 times but not on a 2011 car with only 60,000 miles.he said if we would have continued driving, the whole engine would have blown up.called the local buick dealership and found out no recall, nor did we have the extended warranty (a big mistake - and we loved the lacrosse thinking it would last a long time).looked up blue book value - worth $11,000 (with running engine) and a new engine would be approx. $8,000 and would take a week to replace. Sold the car to the mechanic in knoxville, tn)and purchased a new toyota avalon in knoxville.very very disappointed in g.m.

I noticed today as i was stopped at a red light with my foot on brake the vehicle was kinda jumping like it was trying to go while foot was on brake. I drove a little further and the service stabilitrak light came on followed by the reduced engine power. The car proceeded to die in the middle of a busy street. After a few minutes it did restart and i was able to get it home. This seems to be a common problem with 2011 buick lacrosse. Ihave seen several complaints about this same issue.

Engine suddenly stopped while beginning to exit from an eight lane highway (680). Couldn't restart. Had car towed to dealership. They replaced my battery for $361.77, in order to start the car and diagnose the problem. They called the next day to inform me that i needed a new engine...for $9000.00!!! on a car that was well maintained, with 60,000 miles???? towed the car to my mechanic who told me that the a faulty seal caused a rod to break, and that caused the engine damage. Had a new engine installed for about $6000.00. I believe that gm is responsible for the faulty seal, and the potential damage to property and life which would cause a vehicle to suddenly stop running...causing the brakes and the power steering to stop.

Whenever we fuel our 2011 buick lacrosse cxs it would not fully start and after several attempts, it would run the battery down. After the second incident, it was observed that if we rapidly pump the accelerator while the vehicle was trying to start it would pick up and fully start. This is what we have been doing and is still doing, regardless of the fuel station (exxon-mobile, shell, murphy/walmart, citgo, chevon, valero, fuel depot, ect.). Here is a list of things we have attempted: 1) with the gas tank at about half, open the gas tank put the gas pump into the tank, don't pump any gas, close the tank, start the vehicle (maybe opening the tank was the culprit): all is fine.2) with the tank at about half, full the tank (different station), start the vehicle: all is bad.3) with the tank at about empty, full the tank (different station), start the vehicle: all is bad.4) with the tank at about quarter, full to half tank (different station), start the vehicle: all is bad.my conclusion is that the vehicle is creating the problem and needs to be corrected. Before reaching this point, i had to call for road service twice. In the first case the vehicle was towed to a dealership and they found nothing and the second we jumped the vehicle.

With this notification your ability to accelerate becomes hindered, and having consulted with on-star, a diagnostic test resulted with a code of p-0335, and the problem listed as an ignition system engine misfire. Such diagnosis comes with a warning of speed precautions, and highway driving is not recommended.

The transmission, with approx 89,000 miles burned up while i was on a road trip. I was 9 hours from my home and alone with a full car of vacation equipment. I was on interstate 24 in nashville tennessee. I pulled off and a service station checked why the engine light was on. They said the codes showed transmission problems. I should try to get to the nearest buick dealer, in clarksville tennessee. They said it would make it. I was alone.thank goodness for onstar. I had to spend the night in clarksville because the dealership was closed and it was getting dark. The car was barely moving by now. It was frightening. I stayed the night at a baymont in clarksville and was at the dealership at 6 30 am. Was praying it could be fixed and i could continue on my was to milwaukee with my beautiful car, which i had put so much effort in keeping in good running condition. Just before my trip, i had replaced my tires with beautiful michelins, and sick my car had gone into limp mode twice, replaced the throttle body. Everything ready for a road trip to amelia island from milwaukee. Wyatt johnson dealership said the transmission was shot. 4500.00 to fix, and would take a week. I was stuck. I had to get home 9 hours away. I would need a rental to drive home, then drive back then drive home if i would have the new transmission. I gave my beautiful car to them for 1500.00. I bought another 2015 lacrosse. I had tounload a full car into the new one. Extremely frightening situation. I now have a 2015 buick lacrosse which i bought for 19,800. Just so shocking that an american made transmission would burn up at 89,000 miles. The car was in motion, but in slow traffic on the expressway in nashville when the problem began. I will send copies of all documents.

Currently, my car has 62k miles on it. 2011 buick lacross cxl awd 3.6 engine. The car is jerking forward during the low speeds between 2000-2500 rpm , when i move my foot off the accelerator, tranny shifts from 1st gear to 2nd or 3rd to 4th and this makes a very noticeable forward jerk. I have noticed this 6 months ago when it was not very noticeable but now it is getting worse. Specially in the city, during the stop and go traffic it is really very annoying and dangerous. If i drive longer it gets worse and sometimes i have to slam on the breaks to stop or slow down the car specially if i am going downhill. This happens when i start accelerating slowly from stop, up to 2000-2500 rpm and then move my foot off the accelerator. Basically tranny shifts to the 2nd gear (or 3rd) and jerks very noticeably forward. If i keep on pressing the gas pedal , it keeps acceleration without any problem. In slow stop and go city traffic if i want to slow down or stop, i basically take my foot off the gas pedal, this causes car to shift to upper gear and jerk forward, sometimes in the traffic i need to slam on the brakes to stop or slow down. Happens only during the low speeds (10-20 mph) , and stop and go traffic.

I noticed this problem not long after getting car when stopped in drive going from brake to gas car seems to act like its on oil slick then catches on with a sudden jerk. It will also when going from gas to brake even on incline will lunge forward it also will just suddenly speed up with out any accelerationits like the car is in cruise control. I have had car in several times and always they cant tell me anything i'm not the only person who notices this anyone who is in car asks what was that or what just happened.

This would cause an engine noise, and if left untreated, could cause the chain to break, leading to engine damage.this is causing the engine to not run right and a hard time to accelerategm case #8-2573359821

Sudden and unexpected acceleration during a low speed (<5 mph) tight left hand turn.first incident resulted in crash against house wall, damage to vehicle.vehicle repaired below insurance deductible, no damage to structure.second incident in a parking lot, on or about may 16, 2012, able to stop vehicle with no crash.third incident occurred at neighbors house june 26, 2012, causing crash.damage to vehicle and garage door.all incidents occurred when lifting from accelerator prior to stepping on the brake to shift into reverse (vehicle still in drive, no braking).after 3rd incident vehicle was drivable but was towed to the selling/servicing buick dealer.vehicle is still being investigated by dealer. Condition does not occur every time in the same tight left hand turn.type of turn is 90 degrees in driveways to side loading garages and into parking spaces.

The contact owns a 2011 buick lacrosse. While driving 35 mph, the gear would not shift and prevented the vehicle from accelerating. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.

The cem on these cars go out very fast without no notice

The car was just purchased on 112619 and the day i bought i got warning light on dash next day car is in reduced power mode, took back to carmax to have this issue resolved they cleaned tps adv it was dirty poor contact. Two days later the light is back on this time the car is sent to buick dealership in gilbert they replaced the throttle position sensor and i was told issue is fixed 24 hours later car is back in reduced power mode

Upon leaving dealership after purchase of new car, turned right to exit and transmission jumped into neutral, almost rear-ended. Thought i may have hit shifter. Another turn from stop and trans jumped into neutral during turn while entering traffic. Just missed being hit and perhaps killed. Manually returned to "d". Life threatening defect. Ret to dealer and demonstrated. Next day dealer advised that a "module" on the transmission was installed backwards by gm mfg. Advised gm day after occurrence. Later gm called and told me car had been repaired and get it or "they" would charge me storage. Obviously, after exposing wife and myself to great risk, we did not want that vehicle. Now gm will not speak to me as i try to ensure that the autos produced prior and post to mine were verified to ensure they did not have the same life threatening defect and react accordingly. Gm seems not to care. Pls note: the car "dropped" from drive in neutral everytime i accelerated from a turn into traffic. This problem was demonstrated to the dealer; dealer said park it now. Question is how many buicks were manufactured with this very dangerous defect. The 2 times this happened, prior to knowledge of the/a problem, if i had not been able to return to "drive" and proceed with maximum acceleration, we would have been unquestionably hit by approaching cars. Had my wife been driving, her reaction would have been slower and she could have easily been killed. This is life threatening. I delayed contacting the ntsb in that i believed gm would take action. I do not believe that to be the situation. Help - lives are definitely at risk if any cars prior to or after mine have this defect. Suspect poorly trained individual on the line that day "filling" in. Poor engineering as dealer stated the part was so designed as it could be installed backwards. Please confirm you are taking action as this is a critical defect that could very easily result in death or serious injury as i cannot confirm gm action.

While driving the airbags deployed.no accident of any sort. My car has never been in an accident! gm does not want to be liable.im a single mom.im $2000 away from paying the car off,to be car note free as i have a daughter in college.i have the car serviced regularly . Their data is incorrect.

Driver seat has collapsed. I first noticed this when i got in to drive after my husband had driven the car and i had to adjust the rear view mirror...something i had never had to do in the past and it keeps getting worse.i can no longer safely see above or around the side mirrors unless i sit on a pillow.

I recently bought a used 2011 buick lacrosse cxl.i like the car a lot but after a few trips i noticed that my neck and head position was constantly being pushed forward making me more and more uncomfortable.i also noticed that the headrest is so large that it is difficult to see behind me especially to the left for oncoming traffic or obstacles.i understand that the manufacturers were required by nhtsa to make the headrests too far forward and too large for "safety" reasons.if so, you have succeeded in making my time behind the wheel both uncomfortable and less safe because my neck is constantly being pushed forward and i can't see behind me very well.i doubt that you will respond or, more unlikely, make changes to improve this problem but i have to do something to express my outrage at what you have done.

Memory seat recall does not operate as described.

While accelerating from a stop at anintersection and intitating a trn on a city street, the engine stopped and lost power steering and power brakes. The engine had to be jumped and a rod knock sound occurred. The engine later siezed up permanently at the service center.

Brake pedal does not raise after apply, remains applied and brake lights remain on unwanted when car is in motion and stationary on streets, highways and while turning.gm issued an internal bulletin on 05/11/2018 (see pic5692d) recognizing that this problem exists among 5 of its models (buick lacrosse, buick regal, cadillac srx, cadillac xts and chevrolet malibu) with the lacrosse problem beginning 2010 through 2015.brustolon, a gm dealer in mystic, ct charged me $70.63 to replace the pedal and retainer clips.given how widespread this problem has been among several gm models for up to 6 years, this repair should be the responsibility of gm as a recall at no cost to the vehicle owner.this situation is a significant safety issue because the brake pedal when depressed remains applied wearing the brakes out prematurely.

Brake pedal does not raise after applying brakes. Brakes remain engaged causing drag and brake lights stay on. Intermittent problem. Must pull pedal back up to stop braking action and get brake lights to turn off.dangerous situation that can cause damage to brake rotors and pads to wear out quickly.

Backing into parking space when brakes failed. No prior warning or failure lights ever came on.

While attempting to stop at stop sign by applying brakes vehicle failed to stop then accelerated. While applying brakes as much as possible brakes still failed with vehicle plying through field and coming to rest only when plowing into an embankment,

The brake pedal gets 'stuck' during normal breaking. I have to put my foot under the pedal and pull it back up or the brakes will not disengage.

Have had continued problems with adjustable steering wheel locking mechanismthe dealer has advised that it "is the way it is"returned multiple times .i was to find a major service repair on line about the problem and called the dealership.it was then supposed to berepaired...but within 5 miles of our home on a twisting road the steering wheel became disconnected from the locking devise!!!!i was to loose control of the car due to the way it happened...without any warning and lost control went off the road.i will not drive the car..($40,000 +) due to the way it is now. The dealership..gm..will be sending a tow truck tore service the problem today...(if the safety problem is correctable )this has been a on going problem and dealership says 'this is the first time we have seen such a problem"(if so..why a service bulletin has been issued ..nhtsa 10038705..reff pi-0462..?the dealership and or gm did not stress the safety concerns of this problem.everything else on this car has worked 100%...with exception of the loss of steering control after servicing after the service was performedfor this condition.

Blind spot warning system (bsws) inoperative que on vehicle multi function information display (mfid), located behind the steering wheel in a 3"x4" area is inadequate.the bsws on this vehicle is very sustainable to road spray during rain events that renders this system inoperative.the issue is in the warning that is displayed to the driver when this occurs.the message displayed is only shown for approximately 5 secs, then is removed without any driver action acknowledgement .no icon is shown to remind drivers of active messages.if this message is missed, the driver is not aware that this system is inoperative. Also, there is no message telling the driver when this system becomes operational again. Two possible outcomes.1. The driver does not believe in the system, losing the benefit of this valuable system, especially in this vehicle model with its large blind spots, or2. The driver believing in the system and turns into traffic, not realizing that the system has become inop and unaware because of the missed message on the mfid.these are basic human factors issues that have been dealt with in the aviation industries for years.the industry needs to address these types of issues as we continue to increase our reliance on automation in these vehicles. The lack of a standard and standards between manufacturers will become a significant player in coming years.

Trunk randomly opens. It has happened many times and my key fob is not in my pocket.i keep it on a clip on my purse when not in use. Once i noticed the alert in my car popped up on my display while driving @ 55 mph and i did stop and closed the trunk. Most of the time car has been stationary. Once it must have been opened during the night and it rained.whole trunk was very wet.several time while at work and my car was parked in the parking lot--had someone tell my my trunk was open.

I purchased this vehicle a few months ago and have had two near misses. Both involving a person as i was turning a corner. The driver has a huge blind spot (14") between the windshield and side window glass which intefers with seeing. In addition, this blind spot is close to the driver, making it much worse.

The posts on the front right and left side restrict visibility to a serious degree. Because of the post on the front right side of the car blocking visibility i have had near misses, and actually caused me to hit a curb and get a flat tire. Other times i haven't seen people on the right side of my car.the post and mirrors size and location makes it a very dangerous.

We bought a new 2011 buick lacrosse cxs 11-15-10, drove it 200 miles and the front suspension failed in costco parking lot at 10 mph and no impact. The rim popped open at the center seam creating a big oval opening that locked up on the brake caliper, stopping the wheel which snapped the tie rod end, letting the tire wedge into the inner fender then the a-arm bent and caused some damage to the engine cradle. My wife cracked her head on the side window it went down so fast.the general motors engineer came to investigate the incident, found no impact damage, but refused to discuss the structural failure of the left front suspension. The tire shows no impact bruises and the rim has no damage except for a small chunk on the inside of the rim where the steering ram popped the rim when it locked into the inter fender.my point: if this happened at highway speed it would have caused a major accident. The rim started this chain reaction, but at such a minor speed the suspension should not have failed. I was told that this is a new suspension for the 2011 cxs sport model. Please look into this. I do not want to risk my families safety when i feel uncomfortable with the structural integrity of thisnew suspension and have ask for a refund. Gm has denied my request, and now it goes to my attorney.please look into this for consumer safety.

I was driving our buick lacrosse with 3036 miles on it, at 58 mph, when the wheel began to jerk back & forth violently. I was skidding down the road unable to steer. I was able to get to the side of the road and eventually have the car towed in. The right rear tie rod bolt had broken. When this happened the suspension control arm was bent. Both parts have been replaced.. We were told they had not seen this happen before and no explanation as to what would have made it happen.

Front left tire and rim came off.spoke of the wheel remained. Left rear tire blew. Fragments from left front wheel pierced tire. Police report 31-798-12... Updated 11/07/12

I have issues with the a/c it does it's own thing at times. The a/c fan never hasblown strong. It's like the duck work is obstructed some how. Sitting still at times the a/c does not blow cold at all until you move then it starts to blow cool. At times a small part of the cool at times small amounts of air seeps through the defroster and fogs up the windshield especially at nights.

While turning left at a major intersection, car lurched forward and gained speed/momentum while at same time steering wheel became stiff and very difficult to turn & driver could not control the car. Car did not complete the left turn but rather continued driving as if all on its own and crashed into a high curb on right side of car. Air bags did not deploy; front car parts simply crumbled and fell off; suspension was ruined; car tire was punctured along with the tire rim being cracked clear through in a couple of areas. Driver was injured with head injury, cracked rib, and broken rt. Forearm.car was totaled out by the insurance company.

The vehicle started to voluntarily come to a stop, and cut itself off without notice. Then, subsequently, the battery light/icon started to appear onto the dash screen, followed by a deceleration while driving with an information notice stating that the battery power had been reduced. With this notification your ability to accelerate becomes hindered, and having consulted with on-star, a diagnostic test resulted with a code of p-0335, and the problem listed as an ignition system engine misfire. Such diagnosis comes with a warning of speed precautions, and highway driving is not recommended.

Moonroof front glass of my 2011 buick lacrosse exploded outward while traveling 60 mph on interstate.sounded like a gun going off.climate control was on "auto".

The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.

Climate control system. On three occasions the climate control system has switched to heat and high fan, locking the driver out of the controls and causing the passenger compartment to become extremely hot and uncomfortable.i was able to pull over to the side of the road on one occasion, turn the engine off and let the car sit for a few minutes before restarting the car.the system returned to normal.on two of the three occasions, the car was in motion.on one occasion it happened in the garage.dash lights - while driving at night, all passenger compartment lights went off for about 30 seconds, and then came back on. I took the car to the local dealer and they checked the system, including the battery.they found no computer codes to explain the malfunction.

Windows will not defog ac barely runs took it in to a shop to get a recharge but still nothing. My seat rocks back and forth like a rocking chair on driver side. I also have pictures and videos but don't know how send copy paste the link to you...

I reported problem to rice buick-gmc, inc.8330 kingston pikeknoxville, tn 37919-5449(865) 693-0610on 9/16/2014, 9/25/2014 and the problem persisted & getting worse to date 01/07/2019.

Sunroof exploded outward going 70mph on interstate. No cars around me no birds or other things. Road perfectly smooth straight direction of travel. No bad weather and all windows raised at the time. Scared me to death. Everything was normal up until the time it exploded. I thought it was a bullet at first.

Driver cannotsee road which windshieldstaysfogged up when driving and will not defog this is a danger for it could cause it led to crashes windshieldand backwindowremains fogged up which is very dangerouswhen driving in traffic i was just made awarethatthere is a recall on this and need this taken care of asap thanks

Ii cannot control the defroster or fan control. The vin. No. Says this was on recall . But the buick dealer in my area said it no a recall on 2011 buick lacrosse. They want a hundred dollars to correct this problem . Sometimes this work and other with no luck. Isome times have to wait up to 20 to 30 minute before i can the defrostthe windshieldso i drive !!!!!!!!

Defrost system not working properly, front windshield defrost system fails to clear window, and visibility is an issue. Hvac system doesn't cool properly, compressor comes on, however temperature only lowers to a certain temperature. Temperature cools better while vehicle is in motion on highway.

I have issues with my defrost system in my 2011 buick lacrosse which is causing visibility issues (safety) when i drive. Several times i had to pull off the road, roll down my windows and try to get my windshield to defrost so i could see to drive. I looked up recalls on cars.com and noticed that there was a recall issued in march 2011 for 2011 buick lacrosse models for the ecc module describing the exact systems my car is having. I called the buick 1-800 number to inquire about the recall and the representative stated that my particular vin# was not on that recall list but i could take it to a dealership for a diagnosis and for repairs at my expense. I explained to her that i could not understand why if my car is having the exact same issues as the recall is stating why would my car not be under the recall notice. She stated that it was probably manufactured at a different plant and not at the plant which recalls were issued. My question is "if i am having the same exact issues as described in the recall for the 2011 buick lacrosse models than why do i have to pay to have the problem diagnosed and fixed?" i believe that buick should take responsibility and contact a dealership to have my car diagnosed and then if it is determined that this is the same problem as the recall they should pay for those repairs as well.this has been an on-going issue since i purchased the car (used) in october 2014
