The passenger airbag telltale intermittently illuminates while driving. The dealer has advised the airbag is disabled at the times the light is displayed. Nhtsa reports from owners indicate that dealer part changes (control, weight sensor, etc.) have not been successful to correct the issue. With that in mind, it's apparent that a design issue must be at the root cause. This issue is just as dangerous if not worse than the ignition key issue because both disable the airbag. This issue unlike the ignition issue which causes the car to shut down can go unnoticed if the driver fails to see the indicator light. This exposes the passenger to a potential danger if involved in a crash at that time. Disconnecting and reconnecting the seat belt and repositioning a passenger's weight eventually will turn off the light provided the light is detected and the passenger is advised. Nhtsa should be more aggressive in correcting this dangerous issue. Note: the date entered is today's date since the condition intermittantly continues to occur.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while having repairs performed for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system), the technician notified the contact that the air bag light was sporadically illuminating. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage of the vehicle was 140,000.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving various speeds, the front passenger air bag sensor warning indicator illuminated although the seat was occupied. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,291.

The car's air bag light by the speedometer has been illuminating intermittently at various speeds whether there is a passenger in the passenger seat or not. The passenger seat air bag on/off light near glove compartment turns to off when the speedometer air bag light illuminates. In june, i took the car into an independent mechanic to get the problem fixed. Unfortunately, the computer doesn't store a code for this problem. The mechanic tried to improve the connection to the passenger seat and "relearned" the computer; however, the problem still occurs. Mechanic said it "might" be a $1,000 fix which involves part of the passenger seat cushion itself!it cost me $100 to find out this much and attempt a correction, but $1,000 is ridiculous; especially for a "maybe" fix. I see others are having this problem, too.i've already had the ignition switch key fix at the dealership. I also already had the problem with the headlights turning off as we were driving down the road; our independent mechanic fixed that and i'm still waiting for the gm reimbursement on that.hoping we can get gm to fix this air bag problem before it causes injuries.

Red airbag light comes on and off while driving when passenger in front seat.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 45 mph, the driver and passenger side air bag lights illuminated continuously. The contact stated that the air bag light indicated the air bags were off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the front passenger side air bag warning light illuminated with a passenger in the front seat. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger presence system module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,018.

2008 buick lacrosse. Air bag light comes on constantly and has been coming on since the vehicle was purchased. *ta

I was involved in a head on collision at roughly 30 miles an hour and the front air bags never deployed.

The vehicle only has 30196 miles on it.the passenger side airbag stays on all the time. I noticed there are a lot of complaints about this model buick lacrosse.why hasn't a recall been issued on these vehicles.

I've had a lacrosse 2008 since february of 2013 and my airbag light for the passengers goes off and on periodically as if there is no passenger sitting there. Also my airbag light comes on periodically as well as my seatbelt light comes on and i always have my seatbelt on. I went to a mechanic and we looked up my car to see if it was recalled and it wasn't. Im scared that if i ever got into an accidentmy airbags won't deploy.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The contact called the dealer (sun buick located in wantagh, ny), but was unable to speak to a representative. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,438.

Airbag sensor in passenger seat failed. That also effected the seat belt warning light. Failure was intermittent and occurred with engine running car in motion.

2008 buick lacrosse - airbag light will come on near the speedometer while driving down the road. It will stay on for a couple minutes then shut off. There are 74,000 miles on the vehicle and i just bought it used from a buick dealership. I'm assuming the problem was there with previous owners as well since it happened for the first time as i was driving the car home after purchasing. This happens even if there isn't anyone in the passenger seat at all. I have read numerous complaints about this online as when that light is on the airbag will not deploy in an accident. There are many stories of modules and other things being replaced but it not fixing the problem. This is clearly a safety issue that concerns me.

My passenger airbag has not been working since 2010.we took it to mceelveen buick in summerville,sc in 2011.they said it was the wiring harness. Need to be replaced. We couldn't afford it. Why is there not a recall on this model, but on the enclave?

Continuation of a previous complaint dated 10-10-14,air bag light on dashboard randomly comes on and goes off.the other day i had a passenger, and i was interested in what the air bag dashboard light, and the passenger "protection" light above the radio, would do.my passenger got in and buckled up.at first everything was fine, no air bag dashboard light, passenger protection light "on", but then it started.the air bag light would come on, and i noticed the passenger "protection" light would display "off".the air bags would not deploy in the event of a front end collision.a moment later, the air bag light on the dash disappeared and my passenger "protection" went "on".we were protected, for the moment.problem is, the game went on the whole trip, "on", then "off", "on", then "off", each time the dashboard light and passenger "protection" light working in tandem.guess to protect my passenger they will have to sit in the back seat.i understand people have taken lacrosses to the dealer and have been told it costs $1200 to fix problem.sounds like the bean counters are hard at work figuring out if it will be cheaper to fix the problem or settle the lawsuits, in which there claim will be the automobile is safe, and quoting comedian [xxx], "safe enough to get you all the way to the grave." information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while the passenger was seated in the front passenger seat, the passenger side air bag indicator light would illuminate intermittently. The contact mentioned that the passenger side air bag indicator light would mainly fail to illuminate when the passenger was seat. The contact was concerned that the passenger side air bag may not deploy while in a crash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and independent mechanic who were both unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000. Updated 8/28/14 updated 9/10/2014 the consumer stated the dealer suggested replacing the passenger seat but, it was not a guaranteed fix. Updated9/10/2014

The contact owns 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while the brakes were depressed the vehicle made a loud friction sound and the air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnose that the front brake hub speed sensor, the wiring harness and the passenger air bag wiring connector terminal were defective and needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact mentioned that the driver side sun visor was defective and caused a blinding spot. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 20,500. Updated 11/9/2012

Seat belt module failure, intermittent. Occurs either while driving or upon start-up. Air bags are inoperable when indicator light is on. Not related to any known incident. This vehicle has only 60,00 miles on it. Problem appeared at about 50,000 miles.

While driving through columbus, ohio on november 13, 2013, the car slowed down when i was driving at about 30 mphto stop. The motor stopped and was able to pull into a muffler repair and the told me about a dealership a short distance away and was able to limp to the dealership. The dealership is located in worthington, ohio.after a multi-point inspection, i was told that a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor was replaced at a cost of $102..61 plus labor of $384.00 and shop charges of $15.00 and tax of $35.11 for a total of $536.72.there is another problem of the airbag light going on and off while no one is in the passenger seat and when a person is seated and buckled up according to the law....

I bought this lovely car and thought i got a great deal-now i wonder what i was thinking!! the car drove home from the dealership beautifully, but after 5 days of owning it i was driving down a major highway at 70mph and the headlights shut off. I now have that problem any time i drive at night. The passenger air bag light goes off and on while the seat is occupied and last night i looked outside, only to discover that my headlights were on. Nothing i did would make them stay off other than disconnecting the battery. The electrical on this car is obviously a nightmare and i will be looking in to trading this car as soon as possible :(

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse.the contact was experiencing extreme difficulty with the front passenger seat air bag system sensor.he has a health condition that has affected his height and uses a seat cushion in the vehicle.while in the driver seat, the cushion is fine but when he rides in the passenger seat, he is unable to use the cushion because it sets off the sensor and deactivates the air bag.this is a safety concern because he is unable to ride in the passenger side of his vehicle with a working air bag.the manufacturer was unable to provide assistance.as of may 16, 2008, the sensor has not been deactivated.the failure and current mileages were 200.updated 06/16/08

I have had two issues involving the need to replace what i understand to be the passenger presence airbag sensor. This item consists of a complete assembly, the actual seat passenger sensor/scale assemble and the associated computer. At about 18,500 while driving, the passenger air bag light would come on and then go off. There was a passenger setting on the seat in excess of 125 pounds wearing a seat belt. After several complaints and tests ,at 24,008 miles the buick dealer replaced an item listed on the work order as the inflatable restraint passenger seat suppression module 19124100 module kit. At about 42,600 miles a similar problem developed in that the airbag readiness icon light, on the instrument panel came on, indicating a complete airbag system malfunction. I soon discovered that pounding on the seat would make the light go out until another malfunction occurred, usually when the passenger got out of the car. Again after repeated complaints and tests at 46,713 miles the buick dealer installed an item listed on the work order as the a pps module 19258127 remanufactured module kit. By whatever name this the second time a complete passenger presence airbag sensor assembly had to be replaced in the passenger seat. I consider this to be a safety issue. In the first instance when the malfunction occurred there was no air bad protection for the passenger. In the latter case there was a complete airbag system failure. The first replacement was covered under warrantee but the second replacement i had to pay for myself. Internet searches have disclosed that there are other 2008 buick lacrosse owners with similar complaints about the airbag module failure and cost of replacement. If buick uses parts subject to repeated failure their replacement should be paid for by buick.

My father and mother had just left church to have sunday lunch with the church members and the vehicle left the road hitting an oak tree on the truck and turning it sideways into my father's side. The airbag between the top of the window and roof failed to deploy resulting in his death. Mom survived but suffered a broken back, pelvis, and collar bone. The law firm hired by my mother is continuing their investigation as to why it did not deploy.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to tallahassee ford lincoln (located at 243 n magnolia dr, tallahassee, fl 32301 850-878-4855), where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The dealer sent the contact to dale earnhardt jr. Buick gmc cadillac (located at 1850 capital circle ne, tallahassee, fl 32308) where it was diagnosed with a defective air bag sensor. The contact stated that he took the diagnostic report back to tallahassee ford since the vehicle was recently purchased there and he wanted them to pay for the repairs. The contact was informed by the sales representative that they would not pay for the air bag sensor repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,000.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated while driving 10 mph, the driver engaged the brakes and the pedal emitted a loud metal noise. The contact mentioned that the brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to and independent mechanic where the brake pads, brake drums and rotors were replaced. The remedy failed to repair the failure. In addition, the contact stated that the air bag warning illuminated intermittently.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 52,000.

The air bag light comes on frequently, but mainly during hot summer days and has came on several times since we purchased the vehicle march of 2019. The light comes on when we are stationary and while driving. When doing research, this seems to be a common problem with other consumers vehicles. I had read it was an electrical issue and in my opinion this is very dangerous and should be a recall. Another issue we have that i also seen was a common issue with lacrosse owners, is the power locks. None of my lock work properly, all of them have to be manually locked and unlocked. Today, december 10, 2019, we noticed that when i tried getting out of the car the door would not open. Door was unlocked and had been unlocked. My boyfriend tried opening the door from the outside and it would not open. I tried to lock it and unlock it again, i tried pushing the door really hard to see if it would pop open and no luck. I think there should be a lot more recalls on this vehicle as i've had this issues as well as many others.

The airbag warning light comes on intermittently. According to my online research this seems to be very common on the 2008 lacrosse.

Air bag passenger seat light shows off even with a passenger seated. Passenger is well above 80lbs. Indicator light on dic shows seat belt not being worn even when a passenger has one on.

The air bag light in the car comes on when i'm driving. I checked with the dealer and they said if i pay $500 they can take care of the problem. I think this is a safety problem because the air bag will not deploy if i am in a accident.

Engine light comes on and car goes real slow, then it wont move. Doors wont lock/unlock with remote and they wont automatically lock/unlock in park or when you start driving. Air bag light for passenger side comes on and off, when someone is sitting there. Back tires wore off on insides had to replace them. I don't feel safe anymore. Dealer said i should be notified of recalls so it can get my buick repaired.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated intermittently while driving. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Module under right front seat defective causing air to turn off while driving.

A few days after purchasing a 2008 buick lacrosse from the local dealer, the dashboard air bag light came on.didn't think much about it until it happened several more times, so i headed to the dealership for help.they instructed me not to put anything in the front passenger seat because the car would sense the weight and think there is a person there.so i didn't, but i did notice the indicator above the radio that senses a person in the passenger seat didn't turn red during this time.then the game began.i would put my lunch box in the seat on the way to work, sometimes the air bag light would come on, sometimes it wouldn't.and, i found there is a delay in the switch, when adding or removing the lunch box.sometimes after removing the lunch box the air bag light would stay on, or just come on when it wanted to.found out how to fix that problem also, albeit temporarily.take your fingers and firmly push 4-5 times along the stitching in the center of the seat.will take a few seconds and the light may, or may not, go out.or, a quick stop to grab a drink will reset the light.the problem is, from what i understand, if you get in a crash while the light is on there is a pretty good chance your airbags will not deploy.as a matter of fact, i owned a 1994 ford aerostar van which i took to the dealer when the air bag light came on.they would not let me drive the van, for fear the air bags would not work in a crash, and gave me a loaner while they fixed the problem.i did notice buick has service bulletins on the air bag problem, stating"problem could be caused by loose, missing, or broken connector position assurance (cpa) retainer. " (sb-08-09-41-002c)can't imagine what would be the hold-up in fixing the problem, just hoping i am not the first statistic.

Passenger presence system malfunction. Diagnosed as a faulty mat/module in right front set cushion. Very expensive to fix. When passenger is in right front seat air mag message on. Malfunction. Very common with this model vehicle. That's what the tech said at the dealership

While driving the air bag symbol came on the dash.stayed on for a bit and went off.every once in a while would come on and then go off after a bit. It done that several times on this trip.it has done it some since also /

While driving at highway speed approx. 55mph the orange passenger side air bag light illuminates and says the air bag is disabled. It will fluctuate between being disabled and not being disabled. The red warning light in the instrument panel illuminates also. This only seems to happen when someone is sitting in the passenger side front seat. The individuals that are sitting in the front seat are all over 125lbs.when it has happened. It continues to occur. The passengers all have their seat belts on.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 20 mph, the front passenger air bag off indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer six times for the similar failure. In 2009, the front passenger seat was replaced and the failure continued to occur. In addition, the air bag sensor was replaced and the technician stated the air bag functioned properly, even though the defect continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the constant problem and provided no further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000. Updated 09/30/11.

Passenger air bag off indicator light comes on at times when seat occupied.

On october 25, 2012, we took our buick lacrosse in to sunrise chevrolet/buick dealership, collierville, tn.the passenger side airbag indicator had been showing "off" when a passenger was seated.it would sometimes come back on, but did this repeatedly.the dealership "fixed" it, saying it was a "passenger presence module" which they replaced in the amount of $855.43, parts and labor (not tax).during the last two months, the same thing has been happening with the indicator showing "off" when a passenger is seated and sometimes coming back on.the mileage on vehicle now is 80,500.this would seem to us to be a safety issue and it would seem that gm should bear responsibility for correcting it at no cost to us. We feel sure that we are not the only ones experiencing this fault.have you had other reports about this issue?please give us your judgment regarding this matter.

The air bag indicator light on the dash keeps going on and off, indicating the air bags are off, then on.it doesn't matter if someone is in the passenger seat or not.when someone is in the passenger seat, more times than not it indicates the air bag is off

Passenger air bag light on the dashboard turned from "on" to"off" with 150 pound passenger seated in the front passenger seat.the red warning indicator light on instrument panel also came on.it stayed on for 2 or 3 miles then the dashboard light turned back to "on" and the red warning indicator light turned off.it occurs intermittently on most trips, "on" then "off" then back to "on".typically, the dashboard indicator light will stay in the "off" position for 4 or 5 miles. Now at 81,737 miles the air bag dashboard indicator light "on/off" still occurs.the first occurrence occurred while car was still in the 12 month gm certified warranty period.the condition was reported to dealership, they did not confirm by their static check procedure.it still occurs, intermittently, after 10,000 from first observance.

Airbag display shows airbag off intermittently with seatbelt on with an adult in passenger seat while moving on highway.

First issue car will shut off driving down the freeway doing 60 70 miles an hour it will just shut off and i have to coast to the side and wait and wait till it starts again very dangerous. Next issue is the airbag light flashes on and off i'm assuming do i do to a pressure sensor in the passenger seat which i have a daughter that sits in the passenger seat and i don't know if the airbag is working or not. Next problem are the door locks they lock they don't lock the left rear does not work i have to manually pull it up and push it down if i want it locked the key fob warning is always on my dash saying key fob battery is low i replaced it i replace the key fob itself it just works when it wants to. Next problem the check engine light comes on goes off comes on goes off and therefore i cannot use my remote start if the check engine light is on it has been checked there's nothing wrong with the car nothing shows up if you check the gauges i don't know what to do i paid a lot of money for my remote start cannot use it and i'm in minnesota. I need my car fixed it's reliable it's a good car it's what i drive it's my car i have a daughter's life at stake in my car i expect it to be trusted in the car that i bought after reading all the complaints on the site regarding the same issues that my car is having i am hoping literally hoping that your company is willing to fix these issues in my car and all the other people that are waiting in line cuz this is ridiculous

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the passenger side air bag light illuminated indicating that the air bags system was off. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose the cause of the problem. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 5,000.

Once in a while when driving this car, the air bag light comes on . It stays on for a while than it will turn off.it has been also coming on when you start the car and staying on for a while than turning off also . I was told when the light comes on, the air bags don't work .could you look into this and let me know about this situation. ......updated 10/05/15thank you

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate over 10 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 31,000.

Red airbag warning light appears intermittently.dealer identified a problem with the sensor in the passenger seat and replaced the part. The same problem has since reappeared. The light will turn off when the passenger slides the seat back and forthor unfastens and refastens the seat belt. This problem can occur at any time and does not require the vehicle to be in motion nor the presence of a passenger. The problem is more likely to occur in warmer weather.

Air bag sensor malfunctions for both driver and passenger. Sometimes it works normally, sometimes it fails for passenger or driver or both. Occasionally it will function normally after driving about 15 minutes.this issue dates back to november 1, 2007.

Our 2008 lacrosse has had a problem with the passenger side air bag for a long time.the light would always stay off.about a year age we had it checked out by a dealer.they said it had a short in the system and would cost $1000 to fix.after they troubleshoot the system, the light started to work properly.however, recently it has become erratic, some times showing it off for a period of time then going to on.as this is apparently the most common problem with this model, is there an investigation ongoing.we believe that there should be a recall on this model.

"takata recall"front passenger seat airbag would stay off whenever passenger is siting in seat with seat belt fastened.. There have been numerous complaints about this same issue nationally and it is a safety issue. I had to replace a pass presence module at a cost of over $900.00. I took out a 3 year warranty to cover all electrical issues when purchasing this car and surprisingly this module was not covered in the warranty. It is a safety issue and it should be covered...not only for buick vehicles but also for chevrolet, etc. Needs to be recalled because many buicks' have this same problem and the replacement costs should be covered by general motors ...not the customer.

Passenger air bag light goes off & on even with passenger in seat.

Airbag light consistently going off and onthe passenger side. Have it at the dealer numerous times but thesame problem still exists.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front passenger side air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.updated 7/16/15

Air bag warning indicator illuminates erratically. Sometimes it is illuminated when starting the engine, sometimes it illuminates when the vehicle is moving down the road at various speeds (no real pattern). Sometimes the warning light goes out while driving and other times it stays on until the car is parked and turned off. It seems to be related to warmer weather because the symptoms went away when it got cold in september 2015 and came back when it got warmer in june 2016

2008 buick lacrosse.consumer writes in regards to dash panel airbag light issues.the consumer stated the air bag light would blink on and off, while driving. A diagnostic check, revealed nothing wrong.updated 09/09/14

I noticed that the passenger side air bag light would toggle between on and off while driving. The buick dealer diagnostic and scan test revealed that the passenger side pressure sensor failed. Cost of repair is $2,000.00 with no safety warranty options available to offset the cost. No obvious damage to pressure sensor or passenger side seat cushion containing the bladder and pressure sensor in the years of owning this car to warrant failure of pressure sensor. Due to absence of reason for the failure of the passenger side pressure sensor, i am concerned about potential faulty safety systems on my vehicle. A failure pressure sensor in the passenger side could mean that in the event of a crash the airbag does not deploy properly even when there is a passenger sitting there. Therefore, it is a safety risk and needs to be replaced, but since it has not been damaged during ownership i am led to suspect that it is a faulty pressure sensor.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated sporadically. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing, but the failure recurred. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

I had a 6 pack of beer sitting on my passenger seat and my "airbag" malfunction indicator light became illuminated. So i removed the 6 pack of beer from my seat however, the airbag light stayed illuminated. This happened after 5pm so i have yet to contact my dealer as their service closes at 5pm.the car was sitting in the parking lot when this occurred. I found from "googling" this issue that this is a common fault in 2008 buick lacrosse models.

Airbag readiness light on instrument panel came on which indicates the airbag's electrical system is malfunctioning.took auto to gm dealer (chevrolet) and was told that the passenger system module needs to be replaced and cost would be $1,000.lacrosse is 2008 model year with only 48,600 miles.over the last year, the airbag readiness light would come on periodically but would go off after auto was restarted.noted on the internet that some other 2008 lacrosse owners have had similar complaints about the airbag module and cost of replacement.believe this is a defective part that should be replaced by gm without charge.i have had cars with airbags for over 20 years without any type of issue such as this.

Air bag registered as off when a person was seated in the front passenger seat. Sensor was replaced and after 18 months the same problem is recurring. The air bag will be on then switch off and on all while a person is sitting in the seat and not doing anything other than sitting. Current mileage for 2nd recurrence is 46,150. Also the low beam headlights are going off for no apparent reason at night while driving down the road. High beams must be used when this occurs. The passenger door lock will not open or lock when the remote is used or the door lock button on the door. The hood will also not stay up as the hydraulic lifters do not hold.

Air bag light will illuminate periodically when the passenger seat is occupied by an adult 125 lbs and more who is wearing a seat belt.it resets with the restart of the car or sometimes will just reset itself during the travel.

The passenger air bag warning light will come on when i'm driving and no one is even sitting in the passenger seat. Anything sitting on the seat weighs much less than the 80 lbs specified in the manual. Sometimes the light will come on when i have a passenger sittingthere, indicating that the air bags are off - when they should be on!!!there is no event that consistently triggers the light coming on. I might be turning or slowing down or just driving down a straight road. Sometimes, the light will stay on for a couple of minutes, and sometimes it will stay on for more than ten minutes.i've taken my car to the dealer five times in the four years i've owned the car, and the first four times, the dealer fixed it at no charge. This time, the dealer says it "has gone all the way down to the passenger detection module and it will cost you $1250 to fix it."a passenger detection modules sounds rather important to me, and very much a safety issue, but the service manager said that if there's no recall, it's customer pay. With the number of complaints made on this site for this identical issue, i'd say it's highly likely that there are many more cars with the same problem, but their owners just don't know about this site.is it necessary for a certain number of complaints before an investigation is made?i guess my husband will just have to trust his luck - he's the one generally sitting in the passenger seat!!

Red air bag light comes on intermittently. Many owners of these cars have complained. It is a poor design and should be recalled. When the air bag light is on, there is no air bags that work. The problem is in the wiring and in the passenger presence system which costs nearly 1k for a new seat bladder which may or maynot fix the problem. Many owners of these models are having issues with the air bag systems in these vehicles. Why hasn't gm been ordered to repair all of these obviously defective systems? never had an air bag problem with any other vehicle.light is on steady now and all air bags are disabled due to this one problem. Not a great design and as a safety issue, it should be a mandatory repair by gm. None of my other brands-ford, nissan, or hondas have ever had an air bag problem. This is another ignition key design type lawsuit waiting to happen. Why hasn't a recall been ordered? over 70 complaints right here for same issues. When is something going to be done before deaths occur due to non deployment?

While driving the car completely shuts off and i've had close calls. I was driving on the highway and side street when this happened.

While driving on a major road in florida, the airbag light came on,the instrument panel of my 2008 buick lacrosse. There was a passenger in the seat at the time & had their seat belt fastened. This occurs even if no one is sitting in the passenger seat. The airbag light will go on and off intermittently at any speed, even when sitting still at a light, whether there is a passenger in the seat or not. I believe this to be a major safety issue.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag off warning indicator illuminated while the seat was being occupied. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The passenger side airbag sensor fails repeatedly (airbag warning light comes on and passenger airbag indicator switches to off)when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat and seat belt is secured.it began happening on rare occasions, but has progressed to every time i have a passenger in the vehicle.it usually persists for about 20 miles or so, and then reverts back to normal.the dealer investigated and said the replacement part was well over $1,000 and that did not include the labor.it seems this is a fairly common issue with this make of vehicle, and with the exorbitant cost of a replacement part, gm need to make some accommodations for the owners of affected vehicles to have the repairs done at a reasonable cost.

The airbag readiness light has been turned on for the last couple of days so i took to the dealership and found out that it was a faulty right front seat mat assembly.they replaced it at a cost of $710.i do not think this should have failed.approximately 6 months ago the passenger airbag status indicator light indicated that it was not working even with a person sitting there and seatbelt on.they cleaned corroded connections.it certainly appears a defect in the construction of these airbag indicators.this should be covered under warranty.

The description that follows is a safety issue which could result in the death or serious injury of a passenger in the front seat.the air bag indicator for the passenger front seat is continuously lit.the local buick dealership scanned and checked the air bag system, repaired connections and cleared the code.at present, nearly 8 months later, the air bag light is now continuously lit when driving the vehicle which indicates that there is no air bag protection for the passenger in the front seat.the dealership indicated that the cost to replace and program the passenger position module is $1540.this is a definite safety issue and should be subject to a recall.gm should not be manufacturing a vehicle in which, at 51097 miles, the air bag system does not function.i note a number of complaints regarding this particular safety issue.

The airbag indicator warning light comes on intermittently while driving my 2008 buick lacrosse.this car has only 23,000 miles on it.the failure happens every time i drive my car with or without someone in the front passenger seat.this exposes the driver and passenger to danger as no airbag protection is afforded to them when the light is on.i brought the car to the dealer for diagnosis, they said a part may be needed that costs about $1,000 to replace.this needs to be recalled because it is a safety issue that many buicks have, and the replacement costs should be covered by general motors, not the customer.apparently, i am not the only one to experience this issue.here is a link to the carcomplaints.com website where many others have shared their experiences with this problem. I have a 2008 buick lacrosse cxl which i purchased 04/29/2008. At about 3,000 miles i noticed the passenger air bag light would come onintermittently showing the bag was off even though my wife was in the seat and buckled up.i took the unit into the local dealer and the service advisor told they couldn't check for a code unless the "off" light was showing when someone was in the seat. Later the indicator lamp started coming on and would stay on (showing the air bag was off) for miles.i returned to the dealer i purchased the car from and they checked all connectors and pins.it did not malfunction when they test drove the vehicle but the malfunction returned on the way home. This dealer has rechecked the vehicle two times to no avail, the light still comes on.i have found if i have my wife move the seat forward and/or backward the light will go of for a while, (the time varies with the road conditions e.g. Rough, smooth, straight, curvy and so forth).i found another instance on line where a 2009 lacrosse had the same problem as mine.a fix was not provided in their investigation of the vehicle. Buick doesn'tlist any technical bulletins pertaining to this malfunction.this is a very dis-concerning issue any time we drive and i suppose it is a safety issue also.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse.the passenger side air bag has an indicator light that is either off or on when a passenger is seated in the seat.the light illuminates when an occupant is seated in the seat.the dealer stated that the passengers are not heavy enough and should weigh at least 80 lbs.the contact stated that his wife weighs more than 80 lbs.the dealer stated that nothing could be done to correct the defect.the failure mileage was 12 and current mileage was 1,500. I have more then one issue.first important issue.while driving down a state road with a peed limit of 50 at 50 mph.my car lost power check engine light came on and the warning light says engine reduced power all acceleration was lost was able to drive at about 30 and was close to a repair shop so got ther they diagnosed a throttle seal.fixed and repaired december 30, 2016.6/14/2017 while driving at 35 mph the same thing happened again.i have returned to the shop and discussed with gm service center they say no special notice about this issue but i see numerous complaints about the same issue in forums on line.issue 2.the lights on the dash speed, warning info, radio light dim for no reason.issue 3 door locks do not work from key fob or inside car have to work manually the passenger side air bag turns off even when some one in the seat.i have had this repaired once but continues to to this

I have spent the entire summer being stuck at different times of the day and night.i can get in my car and it will not start.the starting disabled/theft deterrent feature pops up on the eic.i have taken the vehicle to the dealership for replacement, key-fob, keys, door handles, and transponder module and it still is causing a problem.what is wrong with this car!?

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the pts warning indicator illuminated and the seats overheated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was confirmed that the seat sensor and the pts module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact mentioned that the pts module was replaced on two other occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The air bag indicator light on the dash keeps going on and off, indicating the air bags are off, then on.it doesn't matter if someone is in the passenger seat or not.when someone is in the passenger seat, more times than not it indicates the air bag is off

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

All four door lock latches failed at around 70,000 miles. The local buick dealership stated that all 4 sensors were bad and repair them for $1,600. Buick has a parts quality issue or a design problem.poses a safety issue if in an accident.

The door locks do not work at all, or sometimes they work, and if they work it is only one door, and if you put the car in park and take the keys out, the doors will not unlock. They do not work with the key fob either. Also when driving the dashboard goes black, and so does the radio, can not see anything on the dashboard, and then it will turn on, it goes in and out randomly, not all the time.also when driving the a/c will go real low when it is on high, and then it will return to high again it does this as i am driving and while i am at a stop light.

Three of the four door lock actuators failed at 51000 miles.the local buick dealership removed the door panels and replace the left front, right front and right rear door lock actuators at the cost of $942.it is interesting that buick is unable to manufacture a vehicle in which the door locks can last beyond seven years.my fourteen year old ford taurus has never had a problem with the door locks.general motors and nhtsa need to review the issues posted regarding the 2008 buick lacrosse.

While driving home from store my wife and i smelled something burning three blocks from home. We got home and i checked under the hood and the relay/fuse block on the passenger side was hot and slightly smoldering. I waited a while and the popped off the fuse block cover and saw the hdm module (according to the diagram in the manual) had melted and fused to the block. The melting and burning had also affected the surrounding relays and fuses. I immediately disconnected the battery and scraped away the burnt, fused portion of the hdm relay and visually checked the fuses which were singed or partially melted and replaced the bad ones. I do not have anything to check the relays with. My wife is on oxygen 24-7 and had a tank in the passenger front with her at the time of the incident which, if a fire had spread, could have become a catastrophic incident. After cleaning out the burnt portion of the fuse box of charred remains from the hdm module, i re-connected the battery cables and was able to start the vehicle without incident. The headlights would not work and some gauges appear to be erratic in their readings ( fuel tank and mileage). I then got online and found many 2006 thru 2011 buick's have reported this very same problem but no recall ( to my knowledge) has been issued for this highly dangerous and possibly catastrophic issue inherent in gm and specifically buick products. I purchased this car new and i have never received a notice or recall of any kind. I am in the process of having diagnostics and repairs done by an authorized gm dealer and will know more (hopefully) in the near future.

Door locks somtimes would lock or unlock and other times not work at all. Made it a issue when parking or entering the car. I had to replace the lock mechanism in the doors. The car has 99135 miles on it but should not have a problem especally the back doors since they are not used very often.

Door locks will not operate with fob remote passenger rear door will not lock/ unlock at all , other doors may or may not lock/unlock when put in drive or park. Fob will sound horn flash lights.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the headlights failed to function several times. The dealer (parker buick gmc, 4813 arendell st, morehead city, nc 28557, 252-726-5103) indicated that they replaced the hdm three times, but the headlights and daytime running lamps continued to not function. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). The dealer stated that they had no information on the recall remedy. The manufacturer was notified that the dealer failed to remedy the recall after three repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

Remote, remote starter (rke) fob for car stopped working properly. Replaced batteries even though dic did not show batteries needed changing. This maybe a problem also. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Worked perfectly fine, then problems started. 99% of the time it will not start the car. 50% of the time it will or will not, lock or unlock car. I have tried resetting and/or personalizing keys & fob through dic center. Car will sound horn to show it has been reset properly, but isn't. Still does not work properlyalso when using rke, the door lock knob will not come up all the way and the door is not unlocked. Also, the door lick know will not go down all the way if i use the rke fob. If i use the key to unlock the door, the door knob will come up all the way and the door will unlock. If i use the rke fob to lock the door, the door knob will not go down all the way and the door will not be locked. I have tried using the fob away from all possible interference which i do not think is the problems, it still only works sometimes.

I just purchased this car last week and i noticed when i hit the lock on the fob, my alarm would sound, but my door looks wouldn't close. So i tried it in my car as well with the locks on the door and nothing.the unlock works perfect by the way (fob & door locks). I manually lock my doors at night and in the morning, the locks will work a few times, and then stop again. Also the doors do not lock when you take the care out of park.

Driving alongwhen all of a suddenwarning came on, and car slowed almost to a stop, got message on dash that traction stability was a problem.problem went away and several months later, car slowed down on the garden state parkway, had to leave the road , the problem became more of a problem as the months went by, took to the dealerhad to replace the sensor, it may have been related to the key problem, which was corrected by the dealer so far so good.now the door locks are failing, rear passenger was the first to go, now front locks not working properly, what is wrong with this buicki only have a little over 50,0000 miles on the car.

I submit this complaint on behalf of my senior citizen mother who is 75 years old. My mom had a very scary experience & got locked inside of her buick car for over 1/2 hour & could not unlock any of 4 car doors from inside to escape out of her car. Plus, key would not turn in ignition & car wheel locked up. It was winter season !! car was stationery. All car windows were rolled up so my mom could not get any heat nor fresh air. My mom could have froze to death inside of her car !! more scary -- we have no idea when it can happen again nor how long the next lockout will last !! clearly this is a safety issue !! especially for a senior citizen person. We are amazed that buick did not yet issue a recall for this type of incident. I found buick forums on the internet where hundreds of other people complained of same related problems !! i emailed all 7 websites to bcr. Some people cannot even unlock driver car door to into get into driver's seat !! they have to enter their cars thru passenger & crawl over to passenger car seat or enter from backseat of the car !! obviously buick & gm never did anything yet about this scary & annoying problem !! on march 16 2018 i opened a new case #8-4000469674 with buick customer relations (bcr). They flagged this as a safety issue !! bcr said buick will only work with a buick car dealer on this issue if my mom brings her car to a buick car dealer. So we made an appt for this monday, april 16 8:30am at fox valley buick (fvb) in st. Charles, il to get her buick car diagnosed !! bcr will work with fvb & cem (customer experience manager). Clearly -- this is a very serious safety issue !!in hot heat or winter cold -- a person can literally suffocate or freeze being a trapped prisoner inside of their car !!! 2 bcr reps failed to call me back over 4 days. One bcr rep was supervisor. But i was diligent & i followed up with bcr !!

2008 buick lacrosse. Consumer writes in regards to gm recall# 14299.* ldthe consumer stated while driving, the engine suddenly stopped and there was no power steering or brakes.the vehicle was towed to a local repair shop, where the ignition coil and control module were replaced.

While driving north on alternate 69 highway at 65 mph at 5:00 p.m., my vehicle abruptly loss power even though i tried to accelerate.the engine shut off suddenly and without warning. Vehicle slowed to a complete stop.i was driving in the middle lane and was unable to get in the shoulder lane because i had no pickup (unable to give gas to accelerate) so my husband and i were caught in five 5:00 traffic with cars whipping around us on both sides and many exceeding 65 mph.i put on my emergency lights and immediately called on-star.i was unable to restart the engine. Thank god for on-star because from that point on, i was in terror witnessing cars coming upon us not slowing until they realized i was at a stand still with lights flashing.the cars would swerve to keep from hitting us.it took the highway patrol and police 15 minutes to get to us but during that time, i relived visions of us being killed on the highway.i can't describe the horror, looking out my rear view mirror, witnessing our demise time after time.those 15 minutes seemed like an eternity. When the highway patrol arrived they closed lanes and assisted in pushing car out of the highly traffic lanes.it took my husband and i both to turn the steering while in neutral. The car was towed to conklin fangman kc dealership and i had to replace ignition coil and module that cost me $933.16.they said these parts were not on the recall list, which i have found out since then gm has put dealerships on notice of this problem. It has something to do with supplying enough manufactured parts to take care of recall.if i could afford to purchase another car i would because i don't feel safe any longer in this car. Emotionally i am still suffering from the trauma.

For the third time, this vehicle has died at a standstill for no apparent reason. It will be performing well until parked. After a span of time, it will not restart. When the key is inserted into the ignition, the motor will not catch or turn over, the key will freeze or lock in the ignition in the "on" position, nothing in the vehicle can be operated - gear shift, radio/player, door locks, trunk lid, etc., etc. Etc. The car is completely seized up.inspection will disclose that battery, including brand new battery, is dead ( no voltage whatsoever).only way to restart vehicle is to recharge battery.this has happened three times over span of 9 to 10 months.when battery is recharged, vehicle will operate for months until it is dead again.something is draining the battery, but there no logical explanation; nothing such as radio, lights, etc., is being left on.some auto repair people believe there is a short in the car's wiring harness; others believe the defective ignition system is at fault.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system); however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The dealer stated that the part would not be available until approximately three weeks. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that all four of the doors became inoperable when she attempted to use the key fob. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000. Updated 09/18/15*lj updated 11/22/2017

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the fuse box caught on fire and the flames extinguished independently. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the relay shortage needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The power door locks do not workproperly even when using the interior switches. Most of the time, doors must be locked or unlocked manually ! our 2008 buick lacrosse cxl has less than 51,000 miles and should not have this problem. This is a very serious safety issue because i've read that people were trapped/ unable to get out of their lacrosse when trip was done.

While driving on a side street @ 25mph near the parkway entrance my engine cut out without warning. I was able to coast to the side of the road. The engine cranked but would not restart.there was no check engine lite on or indication of a problem at anytime beforehand. The vehicle was towed to an independent service station where it was diagnosed and found that one of the ignition coils (cyl. 1 & 4) had melted and split and the ignition control module had burned out. (i have retained the old parts for future examination if needed). The cost of repair, parts and towing was $438.it was extremely fortunate that the breakdown occurred where it did because in a few minutes i would have been on a busy expressway and bridge.note: vehicle manufacture date was sept. 2007 by gm of canada

Three of the four doors are refusing to lock or unlock with either the key fob or the switch on the two front doors creating a safety issue in the event of a wreck or fire.there are numerous complaints on a website that addresses this issue. The repair costs are obscene.please give this your immediate consideration. ....updated 12/10/15

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the vehicle's doors were not locking correctly. The contact would have to manually lock the doors and then activate the locks with the key in order to secure the door locks. The dealer diagnosed that the failure was common and the actuator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.

I had driven to the store, when i tried to exit the vehicle the driver'sdoor wouldn't open from the inside or outside. The driver's door lock actuator failed in a way that prevented the door from opening. I tried using the inner and outer handles, i also tried using the door lock switch and the manual lock nob. I had to exit the vehicle by crawling over the center console to use the passenger side door. I was finally able to open the driver's door the next day by rapidly locking and unlocking the door using the manual lock nob a good 30 times. The car is a four door and none of the automatic locks work. The car also has 99500 miles. The fact that all four locks have failed is one thing, it's the fact that they can leave you unable to use your door in case of an accident that is the major safety hazard. Fixing just the driver's door is costing me $525.00 at a local buick dealership. A quick google search revealed that this is a problem across all gm w-body cars from about 2006 to 2009.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure.

While driving at 55mph i ran over a road bump and my 2008 buick lacrosse super shut off(stalled). I coasted to the burm, hit brakes to a stop. The car started on the first try. Continued my trip with no incidences. Took to dealer and no codes showed in their computer. Called gm customer assistance and they gave me a case number. No bulletins. Scary to drive. Traffic was light this time but may not be the next time.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving at 25 mph, the low beam headlights failed without warning. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

The front headlights and running lights just go off for no reason. When driving home on night the headlights went off for no reason. The nest day, they worked. They continue to work, but the night they went out was very disturbing. The vehicle was in motion, on state hgwy, getting ready to turn to the right.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the speedometer failed to work without warning and was displaying an incorrect reading while the vehicle was in operation. The contact also noticed that there was an electrical short on the instrument panel, which impacted the lighting and various gauges as well as the light on the radio. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system), but did not receive a notification. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

We have a problem with our automatic power door locks and the remote start feature.they don't work, either by key fob or the power door lock buttons in the car.the only way we can lock our doors is manually. We took to the dealer believing it to be just the drivers door but they told us all our door lock actuators needed to be replaced, close to $1000.00 repair with no guarantee that the actuators are the true problem.after going on the nhtsa site i see that we are not alone with these problem.i can understand a actuator going bad, but not all of them at one time.i am a former dealership gsm and very aware of "normal wear and tear" and "defects".i've never in my 35 years in the business seen this with door locks. I was insulted by their offer to repair them.

The engine died without warning and would not restart. It happened shortly after i pulled out of a parking area. The mechanic said it was a cracked ignition coil that 'fried' the ignition module and corresponding wires. He also said in thirty years he has never seen anything like it. It was a very expensive repair for a vehicle with so few miles on it. Had it happened on a highway, it would have been very dangerous and the passengers in my vehicle would have been hurt or died.

The engine died without warning and would not restart. Fortunately, i was on a quiet street and so i could stop curbside. Lights etc. Worked but power steering, power brakes, engine were all dead.the cause was a cracked ignition coil that shorted and "fried" the ignition module. This was an original-equipment part, probably a delphi gn10123 (from my internet research; i could be wrong). Had this happened on a high-speed road, the results could have been disastrous.

Experiencing problems with the automatic door locks.sometimes they work & sometimes they don't!sometimes when i hit the unlock button only the driver side unlocks.when i hit the lock button i have to manually lock all passengers doors.also having problems with the instrument panel lights intermittently will fail causing limited visualization of the gauges.also have a clunking noise on the right side.

Our daughter was driving vehicle with a four year old in back seat when vehicle just died with no warning. She had just turned the corner traveling 20 mph or less and had difficulty steering vehicle to curbside. She stated she could smell something burning and when my husband inspected vehicle he found melted ignition coil on cylinders 2 & 5, a blown fuse, and when taken to mechanic because it would not fire a bad ignition control module. Needless to say it was a very expensive fix.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the air bag, abs, and brake warning lights illuminated. The contact mentioned the vehicle failed to turn on unless the keys were jiggle in the ignition. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who confirmed the failure. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000.

Automatic door locks sometimes lock sometimes they do not lock when i put car into drive the doors do not lock have to manually lock them the fob will not lock them either then days weeks later they work! this started with 40k miles i now have 56k miles on the car! car is put into storage each winter never driven in winter months i have read many complaints of this problem on your sight this is very upsetting nothing being done how come? being an electrician for over 30yrs. I am not letting a service man experiment on what could be! can not recall last time auto locks have been this bad! grandchildren ride in a car that does not lock! what is being done? weather stationary or in motion no matter what there is a problem.

The contact owned a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 30 mph and making a left turn, the power steering and brakes seized without warning. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a concrete pole, gas meter, and tree; however, the engine continued to rev. The contact had to make several attempts to turn off the vehicle. The air bags deployed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The driver received facial and hand injuries and the passenger received stomach injuries. Medical attention was required for the passenger. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact's insurance company believed the failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 90,696.

The fuel level sensor located in the gas tank has failed three times in the past three years.each time the dealer has replaced the fuel level sensor.this has occurred first in dec. 2008 (7574 miles), then nov. 2009 (21145 miles), and now dec. 2010 (37344 miles).the service tech at the dealership informed me that this problem is fairly common (in fact, when i took the car in for repair this time, there was a pontiac aztec with the same problem being repaired).the tech also told me that the cause is sulfur in the gas causing the small wires in the sensor to corrode and eventually break.the module error code error is p0463.

Air bag passenger seat light shows off even with a passenger seated. Passenger is well above 80lbs. Indicator light on dic shows seat belt not being worn even when a passenger has one on.

While driving an unknown speed, the contact stated that the lights on the instrument panel suddenly began to dim before they eventually shut off. I turned the key in the ignition to start the car.immediately, a very large roar ( like an airplane) occurred just as the engine started.i turned off the ignition fearful of damage to the engine, not knowing what might happen. It would not restart. It was towed to the dealership to have it repaired. The ignition coil had ruptured, ignition module was knocked out. The cost for repair: $800+.two weeks later, the engine light lit up on the dash board display.i returned to the dealership for investigation.the second repair diagnosis repair required the replacement of the fuel pump, the oil pressure sender pump and the air injector pump ( no charge for this).cost: $1004.81. When i tried to drive it home, the engine light lit up again so i returned to the dealership.this time there was a need to replace a emission valve.( no charge).five days later, the engine light lit up again.diagnosis: code po411, air injector pump malfunction. Will schedule repair next week ( february 14-21)this ignition coil malfunction caused electrical failuresto electronic module, the fuel pump, the air injector pump, the oil pressure pump and theemission valve so far, at great cost to the consumer. More importantly, the fear is that the ignition coil rupture and resulting failure could have caused an engine fire. The sound was deafening and felt like an explosion. I have never experienced this kind of problem with any other of my automobiles.it was a frightening experience.

On dec. 18th my wife and i were driving at night going to a christmas party when the low beam headlights went out without warning.iswitched to the high beams as they were still functioning. We went the last mile to our destination on the high beams. I turned off the car to see if that would re;set the lights, it did not. We went to the party and came back to the car apx. 3 hours later. I started the car and the low beams came on..after about 1/2 mile they went out again..so i pulled over and shut off the car to see if they would come on upon re-start,they did not,so we continued on with high beams. After about 10 minutes the low beams came on for the rest of our trip home. The next day i researched the issue on-line and discovered a recall had been issued for this problem i contacted the local buick dealer and was told they were of the problem but had no direction on how to fix it from g.m. My wife called another area buick dealer and recieved the same reply..she was able to get a hold of g.m. And was told they were aware of the issue and would get back to us.. We never r got any recall notice from g.m. I had to print all the forms from the nhtsa web site.. Seems to me that this a multi million dollar law suit waiting to happen after something really bad happens (it is only a matter of time). This problem is not just with te buick lacrosse there are other models involved.. So what can be done to get g.m. And their dealers to fix this?

Car is stationary.at approximately 50000 mi. (and 6 yrs of age) all four door locks started randomly and intermittently sticking.symptom is that, once inside the car and doors are locked, doors will not unlock and handles do do not open the doors from the inside.solution was to open the window and attempt to open from outside which sometimes worked.this is a safety issue.if there is an accident or passengers are otherwise in distress, cannot exit the car.have seen repeated reports of this issue with this car.should be investigated.safety issue.

Underhood fuse block caught on fire from the headlamp driver module micro-relay #35 melting down. Headlights went off and the battery started draining.pulled over, turned off the car, and opened the hood to discover that the #35 micro-relay was arcing and had melted itself to micro-relays #44 windshield wipers and #38 air conditioning compressor. Both windshield wipers and air conditioner was off at the time.even though the engine was off the relay continued to arc and was melting the underhood fuse block. Grabbed an insulated set of pliers and pulled the #35 micro-relay (the #44 and #38 relay came out at the same time). Arcing stopped with the micro-relays removed.i have filed a previous report on the #35 headlamp driver module micro-relay, because it had turned off the low-beam headlights while i was driving, at night, on the highway. Turning the light switch to manual-on did not turn the low-beam headlights back on.i had the #35 headlamp driver module micro-relay replaced and it too proved to be defective. After just a few months, it started turning on the headlights about 10 minutes after the vehicle was turned-off. Had to have my vehicle jump started, replaced the battery, and replaced the #35 headlamp driver module micro-relay, yet again.the 3rd #35 headlamp driver module micro-relay, caused an electrical fire, costing me over $700 to repair.apparently there is no fuse to prevent the melt-down of the micro-relays.there is no caution, and no warning in the owners manual, to advise the user about what to do in the case of the low-beam headlights suddenly going off.there is no protection against an electrical fire being caused by the #35 headlamp driver module micro-relay, or any other relay from starting an electrical fire.

Electric door locks work intermittently

The ignition control module (not the ignition switch) failed suddenly while driving on the highway, causing the engine to shut off suddenly and without warning. The car was traveling downhill, so the initial indication was loss of power steering. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and then realized that the engine had died and would not restart. While no crash or injury occurred, the potential for a serious crash was quite high.

The power door locks do not work either with door switches or the remote fab. Only way to lock or unlock doors is to manually lock or unlock doors, except one door which will lock and unlock with key. Remote start doesn't work because door can't be locked with fab. Took to dealer and was told that 3 doors needed to have the actuators replaced. Priced over $750.00. Dealer, emerson chevy-buick offered no assistance. It seems to me that there are problems with the control unit that sends signals to actuators, both by door switches and the fab. Based on the complaints filed i am not alone. This very expensive problem, but a severe safety issue as driver's door does not unlock when key removed after stopping.-[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The passenger power door lock fails to un-lock or lock when accessedwith the key fob. The malfunction recurred sporadically. When putting vehicle into drive (or when vehicle is turned off) the door doesn't lock or unlock on the passenger side. Other door locks are starting to have same problem. The mileage of vehicle was 27,000 and door lock problems began march 17, 2014. Have read other reports on internet websites stating this is a common problem on 2005 to 2012 buick lacrosse vehicles and possibly other gm vehicles. This is a potential safety hazard if doors fail to unlock in the event of a wreck, etc.

Wednesday morning, i had an appointment, then stopped at the store, came home pulled into the garage, came in the house, my husband was outside, & smelled rubber burning, he went out front to check, i had left the garage door open, he turned around & looked in the garage, smoke was coming from under the hood of the car. The whole relay switch box was melting & the smoke was very bad, he got the battery cables off. I took an extra warranty on the car when i bought it, but am told it does not cover electrical fires, what a rip off, i traded an 2001 buick limited on this 2008 buick lacrosse, on 07/17/2013. I am really upset about this, & with the dealer ship, & general motors.i am told there are no recalls for this problem, & it is very rare for this to happen, but this is not what see on the web.

My 2008 buick was recalled by buick for safety recall 14291 as instructed i made an appoint at central buick in norwood ma for 08:00 1/11/17on arrival they took my papers and decided they couldn't do this safety recall on the headlights because the car had a "branded title".i bought this car 5 years ago and it does have a reconstructed title in mass due to a prior accident that was fixed and inspected prior to my buying the car.i don't see why buick refused to replace this relay.it's a safety issue when the headlights refuse to work due to this defective relay. I have twice replaced this relay with standard replacement parts only to have them again fail. Please review and adviseupdated 07/13/2017

I have had my vehicle in at least twice at this time, and i am taking it again today for the dash lights dimming.at night it is next to impossible to read them.yesterday, in addition, the cruise control will set itself automatically, without the driver touching a button.this is very dangerous, especially in white for slippery road conditions.i have been told the dash light problem is a "norm".i don't think so, either you fix the problem, or give me a new car.

After having a gm dealer (roberts-robinson buick gmc - excelsior springs, mo.) repair the factory recall key issue. The car still stalls at hiway speeds. Was told it was the "powertrain control module", finally, after 3 visits to the dealer. I've read hundreds and hundreds of complaints on-line with owners of buick products similar or the same having the same issue. This would seem to be a very serious health hazzard. Although my dealer has done all they could and have been very accomodating, it would be beneficial to all that is having or has had this problem to get help from gm since this seems to be a very wide-spread & common problem.

While traveling up a gradual hill on a local street my car stopped running.fortunately no one was behind me and i was able to roll over to the side.the car had to be towed to my mechanic.he found the ignition coil burnt and a fuse blown.he replaced the coil and found that the ignition module was also faulty.in light of the recent ignition recalls, can faulty modules or coils also be a problem?

I was traveling at 35 mph when the vehicle just stopped running.i had all i could do to get the vehicle stopped and off the road because neither the brakes or power steering would work.

While driving approximately 25-30 mph the engine died, steering failed; i was able to come to a safe stop.the vehicle would not start.it had to be towed. Later found out the ignition coil was cracked (part # 10472401) , ignition control module replaced (part # 19245558) & 15a fuse were replaced. I had been experiencing a gasoline smell in the vehicle for months.i had it into a gm dealer 3 times for the issue without resolution.i was told by the repair station that they were amazed the check engine light had not come on before the failure.apparently the vehicle was only firing on 4 cylinders.

I turned right onto a very steeply graded rural road. The road has 3 service ramps to a major highway, rt 28n. It also has 1 road that allows a r/l access to burton and a cross traffic access to 28n. I had just started the descent down burton when i noticed the car began to accelerate. I applied the brake twice to reduce speed; it was non-responsive.the car continue to speed down the hill for approximately 3/4 mile. The car began to slow down about 1/2 mile beyond the access road to 28 n. When i tried to pull over to a gravel/weed "shoulder" i found that the power steering was also out. I could not pull completely off the road, thus creating a danger to any car on burton road. When i tried to restart the car the engine would not start. The car was totally inoperable. It had to be towed 20 miles to the dealership late at night. The car had just passed the 50k mile buick inspection. On three prior occasions, though, there were problems with a window malfunction, and two doors latches on the driver's side. The service report states that the entire ignition coil and module assembly was replaced along with the ignition module.i was told that the same assembly design was used in the buick lesabre, the chevy impala, and one other buick model. Buick apologized for the failure of these components and for putting me and my passengers into what was a life threatening situation. I was told by the service department of baierl chevrolet (a quality dealership and service organization) that this problem has occurred with other owners, but none had been in the situation i was in. I wanted to report this because i found no indications on the buick website that such failures were possible. Having lost total confidence in the car and its design, that i traded it in for another car and took on expenses that i had not budgeted for.

While driving, the engine light came on, followed shortly thereafter by the traction control light.then the engine began to lose power and the accelerator pedal did not work.a notice appeared on the dash control: "engine power reduced" and "service traction control". If i held the accelerator pedal down all the way to the floor, after about 5 seconds the car began to accelerate quickly. I could then maintain speed by alternately stepping on and releasing the accelerator pedal quickly. Accelerating from a stoplight is a very slow and disruptive(to traffic) process. This has happened multiple times and has failed several attempts at repair. On some occasions, the car has begun to accelerate on its own during this period of malfunction, such that i have had to ride the brake pedal. On some occasions this problem has remedied itself after a couple of days, with turning the engine on and off to reboot. The problem can last for days at a time. I have replaced the throttle body sensor to no avail. Interestingly, i also owned (until last week)a 2007 lacrosse which does the exact same thing, and has also had the throttle body sensor replaced with no luck. I have seen multiple descriptions of this by people online, describing exactly the same conditions and warnings. This is a significant safety issue when it happens, as i cannot safely accelerate in busy traffic, and the car slows down to speedsunsafe for the conditions. I find it difficult to believe gm does not know about this, in that i have had the same problem with 2 lacrosses. Thank you.

Ive been complaining about these problems since i purchased car. I have a 2008 buick lacrosse. Shaking ,noises, wheels, turn car on and it tuns off., ive had 3 engine lights come on since ive had car. P0300 code. Paid 495 for this code.very upset to find out its a recall on what they fits. And the call is messing up again.ive only had car back 6 days. Rotors have a recall on them.no one has sent any notice. This need taking care of asap. Turning steering wheel and here all kinds of cracks. Turn heater on and im freezing for 30 mins. Before get any heat. Im scared i might have a wreck. I cant road at night with lights.

I have had two failure incidents with the jack and the lug wrench that came with my vehicle from buick. Approximate 1 year ago i was using the jack for the first time and it came apart with the vehicle raised on it. Buick replaced the jack. I was using the replacement jack for the first time last week and the original lug wrench split at the socket end. This was the second time this wrench was used. I am concerned there is something wrong with the jack/wrench design or metal it is made out of. I have contacted buick about the problem but have not heard back from them.

The power door locks do not work either with door switches or the remote fab.only way to lock or unlock doors is to manually lock or unlock doors, except drivers door which will lock and unlock with key.remote start doesn't work because door can't be locked with fab.took to dealer and was told that all 4 doors needed to have the actuators replaced.priced over $1000.00. They offered to pay $350.00. It seems to me that there are problems with the control unit that sends signals to actuators, both by door switches and the fab.based on the complaints filed i am not alone with, not only, this very expensive problem, but a severe safety issue.

All of a sudden my low beam and daytime runninglights quit working on the driver's side. I noticed this when i started the car in the morning at my home.

Headlights go out.

In january of 2015 we received a recall notice from gm concerning the headlight driver module (gm safety recall 14291).we called the dealer several times to be told they were waiting for parts.we began experiencing a "headlights recommended" signal several times in broad daylight, but lived with it.when i was in the hospital in october recovering from cancer surgery my wife experienced a headlight failure when driving home alone at night.a neighbor took the car to the buick dealer and they installed a relay, part #15016745.we then noticed that the left front headlight and the right rear tailight were not lit.as soon as i was cleared to drive i took it back and they insisted that it could not have been their fault, that it was just a coincidence that it happened at that time.i paid the $68.93 for new bulbs.today i looked at the website, www.mygm.com/recallsand it said that there were no recalls pending for our vehicle.when i called the telephone number given on that webpage, the representative said that was a mistake, but he could not find any information on when they would have parts available or why the website denied there was a recall.this seems to me to be very similar to the ignition switch issue where gm's strategy was to ignore the problem, hoping it would go away.

Head lights on car will intermittently go out while driving. Many times it will just be for a few seconds. However can last for several minutes. I now know that the brights continue to work. Although did not know this at the time i was left stranded in the desert with children and no cell phone service. I also don't feel comfortable driving with brights on all the time due to the brights being so bright and fear i might cause an accident for another driver.

Headlights went off while driving 60 mph in the dark and no nearby light sources were present. Turned headlight control to manual and still no headlights. Stopped vehicle and everything but the headlights were still working. Turned off the air conditioning, the fan, the radio, and still no headlights. Turned car off and back on, still no headlights. Turned car off again and waited 5 minutes and restarted car and headlights came on. This has happened 2 times now, 3 months apart. Dealership denied any knowledge of this problem the 1st time i talked to them, but admits now that several other people have also tried to get this problem fixed but they were unable to duplicate the problem. If i had been driving on a curve, i would most likely be dead now and they would be guessing why i ran off the road (user error), when they know there is a defect in design.

The hdm failed leaving me with only high beams, have bee told they are not under recall. Shamrock service center, spent 1 and 1/2 hrs diagnosing and found no recall. Many other models have been recalled for this dangerous problem.i am retired and cannot afford this repair. What can you do for me. When i turned on the lights to go home last week, there were no lights but high beams. I thought it was just bulbs, so i took it to my local repair shop. They diagnosed the problemand i am waiting for the part to come in. I know this will be expensiveas i think its around $100.00 per hr.it was in a parking lot where i discovered it. Had to drive home with the high beams.

This is the second time in one year that my headlight on the drivers side has went out. I just replaced it about 8 months ago. I know this because i was pulled over by the police. I do not drive my vehicle very much . 82000 miles and it is 10 years old.i know there has been a recall on a part for the very same reason i am notifying you.i need this fixed. These headlamps are expensive and this is unsafe to drive without proper lighting.please advise on this matter .thank you, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving at 25 mph, the low beam headlights failed without warning. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge displayed an incorrect fuel level even though fuel was in the fuel tank. Then, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to an authorized dealer where they advised that the fuel tank was empty. The technician dispensed one gallon of fuel into the fuel tank and was unable to detect a problem. The failure had not yet recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

The transmission faiiled withoutnotice.hope it does not happen while at a stop light.i just backed into a parking space went to pull out and was not able to put the car in any drive gear at all.vehicle milage 79850 miles.

While driving the car completely shuts off and i've had close calls. I was driving on the highway and side street when this happened.

I started my car.i buckled my seat belt the seat belt warning light light and chimes stopped in a few seconds.i then unbuckled my seat belt to pull a piece of paper from my front pocket.when i buckledmy seat belt again, the seat belt warning light and chimes failed to stop blinking and chiming. It has been a week now and the problem still exists.what should i do?please advise.

The air bag indicator light on the dash keeps going on and off, indicating the air bags are off, then on.it doesn't matter if someone is in the passenger seat or not.when someone is in the passenger seat, more times than not it indicates the air bag is off

Air bag passenger seat light shows off even with a passenger seated. Passenger is well above 80lbs. Indicator light on dic shows seat belt not being worn even when a passenger has one on.

Passenger air bag off indicator light comes on at times when seat occupied.

Vehicle was stopped for traffic and rear ended by another vehicle traveling approximately 30 to 35 mph.driver and passenger seats were occupied and failed.front of both seat cushions was raised and seat backs contacted rear seat.power seat mechanisms were inoperative after incident and seats could not be moved.lucky no one was in rear seat as knee/leg injuries may have occurred.pictures of seats available if requested.driver and passenger were uninjured.

The brakes locked up in two different situations where i was traveling at approximately 10 mph. I had the car's braking system checked after the first time. I was told the braking system looked fine. The first incident i was on the freeway in stop and go traffic. The second time i was on a bridge over a highway making a left turn and was traveling about 10 mph. Both times traffic stopped in front of me and i applied the brakes and all four wheels locked up and i slid into the cars in front of mine. I had no abs light on the dashboard and no indication my brakes were in distress.

Sometimes when brakes are applied, the car does not come to a smooth stop, but rather jerks ahead and takes a very long distance to stop. This occurs often on snow covered roads but also occurs on dry roads. My daughter was in a smallaccident because the car did not stop in time. The message to check the abs often shows. I have just had a new brake job with new routers but still get the message to check automatic braking system. This problem has been going on for years and it seems that nothing will fix it. Even though the car is a 2008, it only has a little over 80,000 miles. The problem has occurred both on city streets and highways. (since the problem is on-going, some of the following questions do not apply. However since the fields are required, i will have to put something down.)

I was traveling at 35 mph when the vehicle just stopped running.i had all i could do to get the vehicle stopped and off the road because neither the brakes or power steering would work.

The accident happened yesterday morning.the brake jammed when i tried to stop at the red light. When i pressed the brake second time, it was still jammed so i crashed my car to the car in front. Luckily, nobody was hurt.it was raining but the car was just serviced by a buick dealer less than two weeks ago.this happened a year ago and fortunately, the car stopped just in time that time.

This car is a lacrosse super with a 5.3 liter super charged engine. In the promotional material produced for the car it indicates the car is equipped with larger brakes because of the power of the car. In 2013 i went to replace the front brakes on the car and purchased the pads that were manufactured for this make and model equipped with the 5.3 super charged engine. When i went to install them they were to large for the calipers and noticeably larger than the ones on the car. Upon returning theparts store and lengthy searching it was determined the braking system on the car is that of the 2008 lucerne with 275-hp 4.6-liter v-8. The lacrosse with a5.3-liter, 300-hp super charged v8.gm to date has refused to address the issue which under certain driving conditions could be a danger.

I believe there is a leak in the power steering system in my buick lacrosse 2008. I have read postings on the internet of other buick lacrosse owners from multiple model years reporting the same issue. There appears to be some type of failure in the equipment. Many owners reported having expensive repairs done, only to experience he problem again. I am concerned with failure of the power steering system. I have inquired from buick if there have been problems or internal service notices about a power steering issue and have been told there is not.with so many internet posting showing up i question buicks response.

There is a nhtsa service bulletin id # 10024713 related to a power steering leak caused by a defective part or design. The bulletin recommends a tie down strap to prevent hose wear and resulting leakage of fluid.loss of power steering and/or damage to the power steering unit can result from this leak.i believe buick has been aware of this problem for some time. I question why gm did not recall all vehicles with this problem to replace the worn hose and attach a tie down strap before leakage was found.loss of power steering can be a safety issue, as seen with the current ignition recalls.gm is not providing any extended warranty on this defect.

The vehicle start making a funny noise and it kept getting louder and louder, then all of a sudden it cuts off.i was able to restart the vehicle after i sat for a while but it is still making a funny noise.i have been told by a mechanic today that it is the power steering.that will have to be fixed.i am sure that it will cost a lot of money.

The power steering is making a whining noise.this is a fairly new car and it's not normal to hear this all the time.brought it to a dealership who couldn't find anything wrong other than the sound.it is obviously going but isn't at that point yet, problem being my warranty will expire by the time it does.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 45 mph, the front end of the vehicle shook violently and caused the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The contact crashed into the rear of a second vehicle. The front passenger suffered a broken nose and received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the rack and pinion was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified, but no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.

I was involved in a head on collision at roughly 30 miles an hour and the front air bags never deployed.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the vehicle was not equipped with a manual release mechanism for accessing the trunk. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 500 miles.

Unlocked car with key remote.grabbed driver side door handle and the spring action handle came right out of the door. Lock still in door, however handle is broken and is no longer attached to the lock. Unable to be used.

Could not understand why my 2008 buick lacrosse could not handle low speed snow and ice issues without my rear end swaying. I replaced the all the tires and still had issues withrearswaying on snow and ice over 30 miles per hour.

Struts went bad at 45,000 miles after regular car usage and ruined my two back tires.

While stationary or in motion the driver side front door will not unlock with key fob, unlock button on door panel, or by hand.all three methods have been attempted to unlock the door and they have been unsuccessful.

Car keeps stalling. Loses power steering hard to navigate. Happens quite often. City streetshighway, parking lots. Etc.

The front headlights and running lights just go off for no reason. When driving home on night the headlights went off for no reason. The nest day, they worked. They continue to work, but the night they went out was very disturbing. The vehicle was in motion, on state hgwy, getting ready to turn to the right.

I write to lodge a safety complaint on gm. This public safety issue centers on the detachment of the rear spoiler while operating my 2008 buick lacrosse, my argument is that engineers, both licensed and unlicensed, are employed by vehicle manufacturing corporations. They are engaged in the process of manufacturing vehicles that are place into operation on our nation's highways. Their work directly affects public health and safety as much, if not more than their licensed colleagues in consulting engineering. These engineers and their corporations have a responsibility to public safety and product liability. This has been clearly documented by cases such as macpherson v. Buick.they are responsible to ensure that public safety is a number one concernthis is codified in title 49 usc.vehicle manufactures have the inherent responsibility to provide for vehicle safety and to provide for the notification of defects and noncompliance issues.us federal regulations through the federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) specify design, construction, performance, and durability requirements for motor vehicles and regulated automobile safety-related components, systems, and design features.this includes engineering design and engineering manufacturing defects, shortfalls, and shortcomings. I was commuting to the dealership from work to obtain an annual virginia state safety inspection. While operating my vehicle southbound, at a speed of 60-65 mph, around the 147 mile-marker, the rear spoiler detaches from my vehicle causing at least two trailing vehicles to operate their vehicles erratically in an avoidance maneuver.the rear spoiler detached and skidded to a halt on the left shoulder of the highway.i then signaled to the left shoulder to stop retrieve the detached spoiler. This could have been an egregious outcome.

Doors will not lock with either the fob or the interior lock button on either doors. I'm reading on line of similar issues with this model where doors will not unlock!

The left rear door lock does not lock or unlock unless done so manually.the door lock actuator does not work.

2008 buick lacrosse has a bad odor and consumer states that she is getting sick from the odor in her car.*njthe consumer was advised to run the ac all the time, but the odor was still present.

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 50 mph, the accelerator pedal depressed independently and the vehicle accelerated without warning. The brake pedal had to be depressed with extreme force in order for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body failed and needed to be replaced and the ecu needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Once in a while it acts up where it states that it's got low oil pressure even tho it's got plenty of oil, also it has misfired during when this happens. It's like this: i'm driving. Everything is fine until all of the sudden i notice engine light is on also the t/c light comes on and it also states the low oil pressure and the acceleration pedal it acts up. For example, i'm giving gas and it isn't accelerating as much as it should be and it totally fluctuates. I've also had the car misfire and shut off during one of these episodes as well. These episodes of what i had just described comes and goes and actually it stayed gone for a good while now until just a few minutes ago. The guy who sold me this car told me that there'sa recall on whatever issue i'm having with the accelerator pedal (i plugged in fixd tool which tells me what is wrong with my car and gives me two codes the codes being: p: 2138 and codes p: 1125.

While traveling at approx 20 mph, the cruise control activated automatically while turning into a parking lot.the vehicle speed up in a matter of 2 seconds and was at much higher speed when she veered off into a bush.the quick speed acceleration of the vehicle without out any activation by driver is of great concern.driver was startled by sudden speed up of vehicle.feels the cruise control activated on its own.she did not touch the cruise control buttons on steering wheel at any time.owners do not feel the location of the cruise control buttons are located in good spot.the cruise control has activated on its own several times over the past 4 yrs.owners have had dealerships look at issues.they have been unsuccessful in duplicating or resolving this issue.complaint has also been filed with general motors in 2011 case # [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that when driving uphill with the cruise control activated, the vehicle would begin to accelerate at a fast rate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was told there were no problems with the cruise control. The failure mileage was 25. The current mileage was approximately 20,000. The contact owns a 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly became unresponsive and failed to accelerate when pressing on the accelerator pedal. The contact indicated that after releasing the accelerator pedal the vehicle suddenly accelerated at a very high rate of speed. The contact indicated that the defect had occurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the throttle body was defective. The vehicle was repaired but the defect had reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Thank you.

While driving at 35 mph or 50 mph carslow downto 10 mphstops and won't accelerate(gas pedal is hard won't give gas) . Engine light comes on and chimes saying reduce engine power and traction is off (service traction). When try to steer of the road steeringwheel is hard to turn. I have had the throttle body clean and it's still doing the same thing. Very dangerous when driving at night. Gm needs to fix all problem won't drive to dangerous. Can you please help me purchase car march 2012.

The contact owns 2008 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while the brakes were depressed the vehicle made a loud friction sound and the air bag light illuminated.
