A lawyer is my next step

No specific events leading up to failure, the airbag warning light came on when i started the car and has not gone off.have not repaired. Unknown consequences but suspect it could deploy while driving or not deploy when in an accident.

Airbag readiness light flashes on and off while driving. Happens evertime i drive the vehicle.

For years, going back to when it had a warranty and the dealership even worked on it for this problem and has had one or two calls in the years since for same problem, ses light comes on, it used to go off and on occasionally, but now has been on for a year or so constantly. It is for diagnostic code p2440 (secondary air injection valve stuck open).dealership replaced valve and/or air pump years ago and said it would fix it, but it didn't. Within a few weeks, ses light came on again for same thing. I called them and they said i could bring it back, but it would be on my dime because they barely got it covered the first time under warranty.we put up with it for a bit, then i purchased a new valve and installed it myself, light did not go out and it still to this day says the valve (new one even) is stuck open. Problem is, when the ses light is on, the remote starter won't work, which is very upsetting for me and my wife.for years, just like the first problem listed, it was initially ?fixed? while under warranty, which only worked for a short time. The passenger front seat air bag sensor has a mind of it's own! sometimes it registers a person, sometimes not. It doesn't even matter what time of year it is, or the temperature in the car. Sometimes it thinks that my wife (160 lbs) is a child and doesn't turn the air bag on and then if we hit a bump (sometimes works) then it might turn it on. It also has times that it also turns on the red air bag light on the dash while it says off for the passenger seat air bag. Years ago when we took it to the dealership for this problem, they said they ?fixed it? initially, but it was just a short time later it did it again. When i called the dealership to let them know, they said just like the problem listed above, that it was out of warranty now and that i'd have to pay out of pocket, so i didn't take it in.

All ok at this time." dealership informed my spouse that if the light is on, that the airbag may not deploy.drove car on 7/7/16 light is back on.

Trapped inside of 2006 lacrosse with a door lock that would not open.dealer could not replicate the problem nor fix it.gm executive offices claim the door lock is a wear item.it is unacceptable for a door lock to trap a person inside a car that has 83,000 miles and 9 years old.enough such occurrences are discussed on various sites on the internet.this combined with a faulty passenger seat airbag sensor and executive managament's lack of concern is enough to stay away from all gm products.

Air bag will sometimes register when my children are in the front seat and sometimes it does not. It is suppose to automatically detect their weight and come on or not depending on how much they weigh. The fact that it registers sometimes and does not at others has me concerned. I saw a recall on this model and was wondering if my car is affected in the recall. It is a 2006 buick lacrosse.

Air bag light comes on at different times.was worked on by dealership for probably a year in ? 2013 and 2014.

My airbag light would not go off after i started the car, it would go off then it would come on randomly while i was driving the car. I had it checked at a buick dealer. I was told that the intermittent module inside the passenger seat was what came up on the computer. Then i noticed that the on/off control on the passenger side quit reading "on" when i had a passenger. I was told that as long as light on the instrument cluster is "off"all my airbags are working. Sounds like a safety issue to me. I was also told that if i did not fix it at a cost of $1300.00 the airbags may deploy for no reason. I read the other complaints and have not had this issue due to any low cabin temperatures. It is august and 80 f. I was not using a/c when this first happened but it has occurred while the a/c was on as well. It happens at least twice during my commute to work (25 mins) and the same on my way home.

The contact owns a 2006 buick lacrosse.the contact's wife was involved in a head on crash.the air bags failed to deploy.both passengers sustained minor injuries.a police report was filed.the purchase date, failure speed, and mileage information were unknown.

The passenger airbag sensor works intermittently when a person is sitting in the passenger seat.sometimesthe sensor will not turn on with my wife or i sitting in the passenger seat.took the car in to the garage and they said that they could not find anything wrong with it.this has happened several times.this is a serious safety hazard and the manufacturer should be informed of this so i can get my auto repaired properly.

Traveling to florida i noticed the airbag light was off when the passenger was buckled up. This light would go on and off the whole trip to and from florida. When i got home i took the car in the buick dealership to have checked. They ran a test on it and said they could not find a problem. The light continues going on and off when the passenger is buckled in. I looked on the internet and found that this was a recall on my 2006buick lacrosse. I cannot believe the dealership would allow me to transport a passenger knowing that they recalled this car for the same issues i described above.

2006 buick lacrosse passenger side airbag sensor not working. I purchased the vehicle used with 60,000 miles on it and was told at the time that the indicator light for the passenger side airbag was periodically displaying, but it was simply a problem with the indicator light. Now at 98,000 miles, i took the car in with a problem on the driver's side seat belt assembly. They pointed out to me that in addition to the seat belt retractor malfunctioning, the sensor for the passenger side airbag isn't working, which is what the light has been indicating all along. So when someone is in the seat, it doesn't relay that info to the airbag. So i've been driving over 30,000 miles with no working passenger side airbag.fixing the problem will cost nearly $1000. Was there any recall relating to this problem with this vehicle, or were there enough similar complaints to initiate one?

The contact owns a 2006 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that while driving apprximately 30 mph, the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. We have a serious defect with the 2006 buick lacrosse. At cool/cold temperatures (below 57 of) the passenger air bag sensor does not work! the passenger airbag is off. Having the passenger jump up and down in the seat does not activate the sensor/airbag. The dealer so far has refused to repair the device.

We have a serious safety issue with the 2006 buick lacrosse. This model has a passenger side seat sensor which detects whether a passenger is seated in the seat or not. If it detects no passenger, the passenger air-bag is turned "off." at temperatures below 55.this passenger side seat sensor does not work! my wife first noticed it on a cold morning, i had her bounce up and down on the seat - no response. The air-bag remained "off." this happened everytime the temperature as indicated on the dash was 55 of or lower. Only after the heater was on and the cabin temperature came closer to room temperature did we hear a "click!" and the indicator then said the air-bag was "on." if this is a design or manufacturing flaw in these seat sensors, then i can see thousands of passengers being possibly thrown through the front windshield because "the computer" "knows" that no one is sitting in the front seat and has therefore turned the air-bag "off." this occurred at least 5 times in january when we were in virginia the first week of january. Have referred this to the dealer and wrote a two page letter to the owner; the service manager says that "that's the way they're supposed to work." my wife and i are skeptical.

No incident as of now, but is a serious safety concern.the passenger sensing device is not working properly. At times the passenger front airbag will not turn on with my wife in passenger seat. It may work for two weeks and then not enableat random for two or three days.sensor was replaced with no improvement.

2006 buick lacrosse with defective passenger airbag sensor. Consumer states that the light will go from off to on at any time while someone who weighs more then 125 pounds is in the front passenger seat.the consumer stated when the drivers seat belt was buckled, the red light on the dash would display the seat belt was unbuckled. Low beam headlights do not work.lights worked fine, parked the car in the garage, lights stayed on delay mode and both were fine.driving home the next night, several oncoming vehicles flashed lights, i pulled into a parking lot to check my lights... No low beam lights.switched from auto to manual mode, still no low beam lights, high beam lights work fine.i have read that several others have this same problem.nobody seems to have a solution. I do not feel i should need to pay the dealer to 'analyze the problem' and charge an outrageous price to fix this. This is a definite safety issue! updated 09/10/13*lj

Steering knuckle- was replaced once years ago under warranty but is now starting to make noise again consistently worse for the last 1-2 years.for months now, we've noticed that occasionally the car will act weird. The throttle will be less responsive and it will almost act like it's missing on a couple cylinders or so, but it has never set a code for it.the shift points are raised and you have to drastically give it more throttle to get the car to accelerate, but when it does, it kinda like surges and then it shifts harder. Once it is in road gear and cruising, the car surges while at a constant speed, it can be felt that the car surges and doesn't remain totally smooth and consistent like it should. An engine restart usually stops it for that time. We have the same sporadic problem and have had for years on our '98 olds eighty-eight with a 3800 engine also. Both cars are now doing the exact same thing occasionally, are 8 model years apart, both have the 3800 engine but one is a series ii engine and the other is a series iii. We just noticed the past few months that the car is starting to make front end noises like the front stabilizer bar is broke, so i looked at it recently and noticed that the left side of it where it connects to the lower control arm is stress fractured in half.

I have had problems with my abs and traction control,i contacted gm on the matter and they told me they dont cover the braking system,i do consider this to be a safety hasserd,as my brake pedal jumps when i apply the brakes,id like to get satisfaction on this issue.

The contact owns a 2006 buick lacrosse. The contact stated that the headlights shorted intermittently for the low beams and the contact had to apply the high beams as an interim repair. Coming home from the hospital on i-65, with my mother the low beam headlights suddenly went out we managed to pull over safely but shaken up. After a few minutes the lowbeams came back on. We have had recurring problems with this but never knew when to expect it to happen. We replaced the relay and solved the problem temporarily. The car now has 96000 miles and no low beams. If general motors don't think this issue is severe enough to do a recall maybe they might respond to a class action lawsuit. Once i decide to sell this car it will be the last buick i ever own.

2006 buick lacrosse. The consumer stated the recall letter was dated august 2014. However, she received the letter on october 7, 2014. *ta

Low-beam headlamps turned off while vehicle was running. High-beam lights still functional. While driving, my headlights would suddenly turn off without warning, and i'd have to use my high-beams. After a few seconds, they would come back on. This happened a few times, but now the low-beams don't come on at all. There is a recall for this issue, but my vin isn't included for some reason.

I noticed one day when i was driving my lights would not come on just the high beam works but not the low beam so i have to be home before dark because i can not use my lights i know it should be recalled and i should not have to pay for it.

The hdm module failed leaving no low beams while driving in a rural area at night. Vin was not covered by the recall allowing buick to ignore the problem and leave the owner to pay.

I had to be to work by 6:00 am on the date of the incident. I entered my vehicle at 5:30 to leave and discovered upon ignition that the low beam headlamps were out of service. After checking the fuses under the hood and finding no issues, i was forced to make my 20 minute/9 mile drive using the high beams for visibility (with no daylight). The low beam headlamps remain out of service. (note: low beam bulbs were replaced approximately two months ago).

Dash lights will not come on when starting the car. This happens on occasion (about 2 times per month). It is impossible to determine when this happens. The dash lights may come on from five minutes to an hour after the car is started. This mostly happens when the car is first started. On several occasions it has done out while driving. Gm has offered a diagnoses of the problem but this would only be beneficial if they were off and stayed off when i would go to a dealer. I have tried this any the lights always come back on before i arrive. My neighbor has a buick the same year as mine and his does the same thing. The dealer refuses to find the problem and says it is suppose to work that way. They are wrong on this problem. When the lights go out you can not see anything in the dash lighted area.

For years, the car has had "electrical gremlins". There might be times we drive it and nothing happens out of the ordinary except the ses light is on because of the top listed problem, but then there are times (more times than not) that just the car moving, sometimes when hitting a bump, sometimes worse when raining/wet roads that the dinger will go off and the dash will reset and will say ?service brake system? along with a few of the dash lights lighting up for a few seconds with the message. Sometimes when it happens then it will also say ?traction control off? which might say it for just a few seconds and there have been times it said it until i shut the car off and restarted it. There have also been times that the red abs light has stayed illuminated on the dash after this happens. Sometimes this might happen ?service brake system? only like once on an outing, but then there's times that it can occur 5 times in 20 seconds . It has no set schedule. The problem with it also, is that if you have the brakes applied when it does this, then the brake pedal starts pulsing and goes further to the floor and the braking capability of the car is lessened. My wife and i have had a few close accidents because of this! and like usual, the dealership has told us everytime we've called them that if we bring it in, they can diagnose it on our dime because of no warranty even though it was doing it while under the warranty period, we just didn't get them called in time because i thought the warranty was already over but it wasn't yet.

The headlamps on the vehicle began to dim occasionally when i would come to a complete stop then when my vehicle hit 140000 miles the front headlights stopped working even after i changed the bulbs. Now only my high beams work, this is not safe.

Low beam headlights on both sides stopped functioning. High beams still work. Verified that bulbs and/or fuses were not the problem. Same issue as nhtsa recall 15v519000 gm recall 14291. Contacted gm who claimed my particular car was not included in recall. As mentioned in previous comments, that makes no sense. If its the same problem as other recalled cars had why isn't my car also recalled? in my opinion gm needs to recall all cars with this problem or supply a valid reason why some cars are excluded from the recall.

Low beam headlights go out, sometimes they will not come back on until car ignition is turned off and back on sometimes they don't come back on at all, very dangerous, gm has a recall but they say my vin number is not covered, i have talked to local dealer as well as general motors concerning this issue with no positive response. It appears this issue will be just like the key switch issue, people will have to die before anything is done.

I am an owner of a 2006 buick lacrosse cx, with approx. 47,000 miles.as i entered the underground parking garage, at work, tuesday morning, i discovered i had no low beams.the high beams and parking lights both worked.i took the car to a very reputable dealer to diagnose.i was told that it was a good thing i got the car there when i did.(i could've had a fire under the hood)...the technician said that the fuse box, against the firewall, under the hood, had melted.this could have been a very dangerous situation, a.e., driving at 65 mph at night, a fire, etc...

I went to the parking garage after work, and had difficult getting into my vehicle.the remote did not work.when i put the key in the lock, it would turn but not unlock the door.after about 15 minutes, i finally got into my car.i picked my sister up and went to the restaurant.i was unable to get out of the car.i tried the remote, the inside release and pulling on the lock.i finally got it to release.then i had problems closing the door.we got it shut but when we came back from the restaurant it was open.i dropped my sister off and drove the mile home, the door again would not open nor would the passenger door open.i am claustrophobic and became very upset.i went back to my sister's and got the door open .we left it ajar, and when i got home it still would not open.after about another 15 minutes, i finally got it to release.then next day when my husband took the car over to the dealers, he could not get the door to open.he was able to get the passenger door open and climbed out that way.i can understand the electronics malfunctioning, but not the manual system.i really feel this is a safety hazard.i just got off the chat line with general motors and received no satisfaction or resolution.it was $300 to have the driver door lock actuator replaced/repaired.i still have no explanation as to why the manual system did not work..

Dash message lighting blanks out sporadically or goes very dim during day light hours.

Driver's side door will not unlock and will not open. It will not unlock with the lock button or with the key. I have to climb over the passenger seat to enter and exit the vehicle. I looked the problem up online and found that many people have complained about this. It is a safety concern since i will not be able to get out of the car in an accident.

Traveling 40 mph on a four lane about to pass a truck.motor stopped, power steering out, power brakes out, managed to coast across three lanes to shoulder to park.walked 1/4 miles to store called a local garage.car still would not start, towed to his garage.checked gas, fuel pressure okay but no spark.moved some connectors around the starting module and car started.have not had any problems since, have the fear that i will be on a chicago toll road and it will stop again.

Automatic door locks work sporadically on all doors. They seem to lock when the car is in drive, but will not unlock when shifted to park or when you push the power unlock button. A related problem with the front and rear driver side door where the door will not open from inside or outside. Replaced the cable in the front driver side that was corroded, now experiencing the same problem with the rear driver side. I don't want to spend $200 to replace another cable. If i pound the inside of the door just right and in the right spot, i can get it to open. The lock mechanism is not opening all the doors - i have been stuck inside the car a couple of times where i needed to crawl out of the passenger side before i fixed the drivers door.

While driving at night, both headlights failed to illuminate. The area that i live is rural and back roads do not have street lights. While the brights were working, that also created a hazardous condition, as the brights could temporarily blind an oncoming driver, especially dangerous on narrow 2 lane roads. The car was taken to art moran buick dealership and i paid over $300.00 to replace headlight module. I was told that gm only covered this from date of purchase to 12 years or 150,000 miles. This happened six months past that date. The car has 98,300 miles on it as of today. This is a definite safety hazard, and nhtsa should require a full recall.i have the recall letter from gm, as well as the paid bill for the repair from the buick dealer. However, i am not a computer genious, so tell me how i can get these documents to you.

Hello, my 2006 buick lacrosse regular beam headlights keeps going out due to the wiring getting hot for some reason. No aftermarket highlights or bulbs been added. The wiring is melting completely. You can see smoke coming from the headlight assembly. I'm also experiencing my entire dash goes out while driving for 2-seconds then comes back on, i'm not sure if the wiring that's shorting out from my low beam headlights after burning is causing this issue or not since the wires begins to touch after the wire covering is burned. I contacted buick the manufacture, and they are giving me the run around asking me questions that doesn't even pertain to the issues at hand, like when was your last oil change? this issue with the headlights is highly dangerous and can cause a fire and prevent visibility for myself and others to see me at night, plush getting a ticket from the police for having no headlights. This should become a recall issue immediately. This is a major safety issue.

Loosing antifreeze and cant find leak. When driving i can smell it and when i check the antifreeze level it's low. Can't find a leak, but i'm adding antifreeze to often 1 gl. Every other week.

At 12k miles the oil pressure light came on and continued to go on and off dependent of the rpm.the dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a cam shaft failure and due to that failure other subsequent damage occurred to the engine and it would need to be replaced.in addition, my steering shaft was also worn at 12k miles and needed to be replaced.and furthermore, i have had chronic issues with my gauge lights dimming and undimming intermittently.the dealer could not duplicate the failure and returned the car unfixed.very unhappy with my purchase of a brand new car and will not buy gm every again.

The low oil pressure alarm rang after only 1542 miles dealer made appt for 2/21 - wasn't worried "probably only a false alarm". The alarm rang again at 1550 miles. I made the dealer take the car backto dealer. Gm had to replace engine due to metal in oil pan. I've only made one payment and don't feel the car is worth a new car price.

I bought a buick lacrosse vin [xxx] on march 30, 2006.i picked up the car on march 31, 2006, and had a problem with a low oil pressure light that day. I was sick after picking up the car but attempted to use onstardiagnostic which they were unable to pinpoint the problem and i e-mailed the dealer concerning the problem. Upon my recovery, i returned the car to the dealer for service on april 7, 2006.on april 10, 2006, the service department contacted and informed me that my car needs a repair to the camshaft assembly. This defect existed the day i picked up the car, it had 87 miles on it when i picked it up, and since the car was inspected the morning i picked it up, the dealer allowed a defective product to be sold and delivered. Upon contacting buick to making buick is aware that this had happened and seeking resolution the dealer put a new engine in the car.it is not appropriate for the dealer or buick to sell a defective car and believe that putting a new engine in the car resolves the problem.i have complaint to buick and the dealer about this numerous time but i get stone walled, they completely ignore the problem existing prior to me buying and taking delivery of the car.i have asked for a replacement vehicle, partial, or total refund and i'm ignored.all buick does is offer oil changes and an extended warranty, which i find useless. Especially when the onstar module failed, april 22, 2006, and had to be replaced. Updated 07/16/2012 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

The headlights on my car work intermittently.it has been many occasions when were driving at night and in daytime when all of a sudden the lights go out.there has been several times at night the lights have went out and we weren't aware that they weren't on which is extremely dangerous.when the lights go out we have to utilize the high beams in order to see at night.this first started in the summer of 5/2012 and continues to happen today,

Gm recall # 140291 issued nov 25 2014 there is apparently no intent to ever fix this problem.it's now a year and a half later and still an open issue.we are afraid to drive our car after dark in fear that the headlights will fail. Is there any nhtsa follow up on these recalls? what does it take to get this fixed?

My lights go out and don't come back on. I have to drive with my high beams at night.

On two occasions, the headlights stopped working while i was driving at night. Both times occurred when i was driving under 35 miles per hour and had been driving for less than five miles.the first time (february 2016), i stopped, turned the car off and back on and the lights came back on. The second time (april, 2016), i stopped, turned off the ignition and turned it back on. The lights did not come back on.i turned on the ignition and tried the high beams, and they illuminated.when i arrived at home, i tried the regular lights again, but they still failed to work.i found a recall onlinefor this situation for the make, model, and year o f my car (#15v519000), so i contacted buick customer service.i was told that my car did not have this recall on it.i believe that the fact that i have the same problem on the same car model, make, and year should should qualify my car for the recall for this serious safety issue.

I have had quite a few problems with having to replace bulbs in the front headlights of 2006 buick lacrosse.but, for the last 4 months when i drive car at night all of a sudden my dim lights go off and i cannot see a thing.two times that this has happened i was meeting another car.luckily, i was not involved in a headon collision.the lights go off, i have to switch to bright lights to drive.this is very annoying to me as well as others.if i park it for awhile they will work again.it seems to be just a short while after you crank car and start driving that it happens.i have seen where there are recalls on buick's lighting but have not received notice of recall.once i was driving on a farm to market highway; next time, driving on a city street in motion both times.

While driving with low beam headlight setting my headlights went out.i tried to go from automatic to manual but the lights remained out.high beams continued to work as normal.a very dark night on a two lane road with opposing traffic and this very dangerous situation was unpleasant and extremely dangerous.i almost went off the side into a ditch with a drop off and trees when i could not see.this was compounded by opposing traffic and a near head on situation.the buick dealership explained that the warranty and recall had just expired both by the date of a 2006 car and that my millage had exceeded the limits of the recall..a head on crash or over a drop off into trees would have been tragic.i will be spreading the news about this problem that has not been corrected.i was never contacted by gm about this problem.the recall was not recognized by the buick dealership upon my first contact telephone call.after a little research, i have found that this problem is very well known and documented in the auto industry. Recall no. 15v519000 states that the buick owners may not be informed of an expanded warranty for this problem.the problem is not fixed and needs to be fixed before someone with a car load of children gets wiped out in a terrible accident that could have been corrected by notification by the manufacture of the auto in question.i noticed many different models are affected by this manufactures defect.i can see many law suits coming up since this is a well known problem. I will be addressing this with my senators and representatives.

The low beam headlamps permanently fail to illuminate.high beam headlamps are not affected. Gm refuses to include this vin in it's recall of buick lacrosse vehicles for this item but includes others of the same make and model. The replacement part available to the consumer only repairs this issue for a short time.buick is requiring me to pay for the repair of something that has been recalled on other automobiles of the same make and model by taking it to a dealer where the new part is only available.the dealership is quite expensive compare to my regular auto repair place.i feel that the buick company is acting inappropriately in only covering specific vin numbers of lacrosse from 2006.

Both low beam headlights stopped working at the same time when the vehicle was started. Light switch was in "auto" position. Switching to manual position - low beam lights still won't operate. High beam and marker lights work as they should. Researching cause i found a nhtsa recall no.15v519000 (gm no.14291) for a faulty headlamp driver module (hdm) which adressed the issue. Reached out to buick and was told the module for this vehicle had already been replaced in 2016 (original owner), issue closed. I appealed that if the corrective hdm failed again then the same safety issue exists and they should replace the part at fault as many times as necessary or modify the module not to fail continuously. What is the policy if a recall fix is replacing with a faulty part? thank you.

I have not heard back about the status of a prior complaint that i submitted and was written back once about. My complaint read as followed: 'the low beam headlamps permanently fail to illuminate. High beam headlamps are not affected. Gm refuses to include this vin in it's recall of buick lacrosse vehicles for this item but includes others of the same make and model. The replacement part available to the consumer only repairs this issue for a short time. Buick is requiring me to pay for the repair of something that has been recalled on other automobiles of the same make and model by taking it to a dealer where the new part is only available. The dealership is quite expensive compare to my regular auto repair place. I feel that the buick company is acting inappropriately in only covering specific vin numbers of lacrosse from 2006.'

My husband had had a blood transfusion at the hospital and it was after when we started to leave, i went to the parking lot and got the car to pick him up.it was after dark and my lights would not come on when i tried to turn them as i usually did after dark.i drove to the er discharge door with no lights.while being assisted by a young man also there, we found we could not use anything but high beams.to me, this is dangerous, but we do not use the car much at night, we have dealt with it so far, but hate using it this way.i have seen that other people, online, have the same problem.

I noticed one day when i was driving my lights would not come on just the high beam works but not the low beam so i have to be home before dark because i can not use my lights i know it should be recalled and i should not have to pay for it.

Our headlights/daytime running lights just quit working as we were driving.we were able to safely pull over and use the high beams.this has been an issue for over a year now. Sometimes the regular headlights work and sometimes they don't. All other lights work fine so we have been intermittently driving with just high beams only.we were excited to find out that this issue has been recalled on our make and model and year until we later found out that our vin number was not affected.i find his is very strange!!!it sure seems like it was affected to me!!!i called gm recall help line and there is apparently nothing i can do about this.i would think safety would be a concern for your customers.i would also think you would like to know if other vehicles were affected.i would like further research on additional vehicles as it is obvious that other vehicles have been affected.please follow up with me regarding this issue.

While driving, the low beams will randomly turn off. This is not provoked by bumps of any kind, they just turn off during random times. They have turned off on highways, on a city street, at a stoplight, there is no connection to the times it stops working. The high beams continue to work, and after a few minutes the low beams start to work again. This becomes problematic during night driving, especially in towns, when it is raining, and when it is foggy.

Intermittent problem with headlamps going dark while driving at night forcing me to use my high beams. Daytime running lights appear to work although i wouldn't necessarily notice if they go dark during the day. I understand gm has a recall for this problem and want to know if my vehicle qualifies. I have not received any recall notice from gm although i read they have started to send notices out in may 2016.

The hdm module failed leaving no low beams while driving in a rural area at night. Vin was not covered by the recall allowing buick to ignore the problem and leave the owner to pay.

I was driving early in the morning to work and had my light switch on auto and my headlights just randomly shut off then 10 mins later came back on. It does this intermittently since and it's a major problem i have children in my vehicle and it's very dangerous. When the lights go out my brights still work and all interior lights work how ever the headlights do not work then come back on after a short while i also smell a burning smell by the headlights.

Every time i get in the car the lights won't stay on. I change the bulbs and it still doing the same thing. The electrical system ignition is acting up to.

While driving through town during the early evening my headlights shut off.i pulled over to the side of the road to determine my options.i tried using the switch (instead of the automatic headlights) to force he headlights to turn on.that did not work.i began to head back toward home to try to determine what went wrong with my car.while driving back home (within a mile of the headlights turning off) my headlights turned back on.about a block or two later the headlights turned off again.another block or two and the headlights turned back on.i drove to get some dinner and while waiting at the drive-thru the headlights again turned off.a minute or two later the headlights turned back on and stayed on for the drive back home.i wound up driving approximately three miles without knowing if my headlights would stay on or off or if i was in danger of a car fire.i wound up replacing the hdm module.

Beginning to drive home at night and discovered that headlamps were not illuminated.stopped car to verify that headlamps were not working.found that high beams would work but not low beams.tried resetting auto headlamps without success.was able to drive home with high beams. Once home tried resetting auto headlamps again - no success.not likely that both headlamps went out at same time but checked bulbs and fuses for low beam headlamps - all good.have seen reports that hdm for 2006 lacrosse fails and has a recall but my vin is not included in recall on nhtsa site.

Twice now, my headlights will not illuminate. The first time it rectified itself. This time it has not rectified. The problem occurred when i manually turned off the headlights. I put the car in drive and manually turned them back on and nothing happened. Running lights and high beams do function (14v755000) but i am irritating a lot of drivers with the high beams on. What can i do until this recalled part is available? i have tried to get it serviced at my gm dealer but they have no recall information. So my guess the going to charge me hourly to diagnose a problem that they probably already know about.

Low beam headlights stopped working while driving on a city street. This vehicle is not included in the safety recall for this year model. Fuses andbulb were checked and confirmed to be good.. It started when driving along and the low beam headlights would go out, the only way i had any lights at all is on high beam, and i would click back on low beam after i pulled over and the low lights would come back on. This happened a few times and now i have no low beam lights at all only high beam. I have called a local dealership that has fixed the car several times before with electrical issues because the dealer i bought it from has gone out of business. And they said it is no longer under warranty and will cost be approximately $400-$700 which i do not have and i also see other complaints on this web site for the same thing. So tell me why isn't their a recall. This car is absolutely a hazard to have on the roads. She has almost gotten me & my family killed several times, from losing power to the headlights going out on very dark roads i have written a letter to gm before, i guess they wont do anything until someone or their family is killed.

While turning corners, car jerks forward and wheels seemingly stick to ground and squeal. This also happens when stopping at red lights and trying to accelerate or when accelerating when on a hill or incline. I've have gotten several different answers about what this could be but nothing definitive. Was told make a transmission issue, or something to do with the 4th clutch piston and friction plates. Also when driving car is able to be moved into different gears, gear box should not move when car has already been placed into the appropriate gear (p, r, d, 3, 2, 1). There has also been issues w/ those sitting in the passenger seat and the light does not display showing that it recognizes a body in the seat and the airbag has been activated. Checked w/ gm no known recalls for any of this issues but they are all potentially hazardous.

On my 2006 buick lacrosse, at about 48k miles there was a loud clicking noise from under the hood.....luckily i was still under warranty because it was a cracked flywheel (flex plate)......i go on my happy way and about 10 months later i have the same problem....and since i am over the mileage portion of the part warranty, gm refused to cover it 100%......ok, i realize its technically out of warranty, but there is nothing that i can do to that car to cause the flywheel to crack...something is making this happen and gm refuses to refund me.i spent hours and hours on the phone with gm....

We bought this car from a private party in oct. Of 2013. We have noticed a sound when we turn the steering wheel. Sounds like something isn't right in the steering column. Has there been a problem with the steering with these cars? we tried steering wheel fluid but it made no difference.

In august, 2014 i received a notice of gm recall 14299, but they stated the parts were not currently available. In september i received a letter informing me that the parts were now available to repair my vehicle.when i called the dealership i was informed that they were getting the parts in only a few at a time and right now they didn't have any, but they took my name and number and said they would call me when they came in.i called again today (nov. 20, 2014) and was told that they had a list of around 400 and had only repaired around 30-40.they said they were calling according to the list and would call me when my name came up.why is it taking so long to get the parts if the repair only takes a few minutes.

My 2006 buick lacrosse has a center arm rest.the top of the arm rest lifts up to reveal a storage compartment, which contains storage slots for cd's.attached to the inside top of the arm rest is a foam pad, which i assume was put there to prevent the cd's from rattling and making noise.the problem is that when you are storing cd's and lift the top of the arm rest to get at the storage area, the cd's stick to the foam pad and get lifted out of the storage area.the result is cd's spilled all over the front passenger area.beside being a major pain in the neck, this can be very disconcerting to a driver, causing distraction - which can lead to accidents.i've contacted buick twice via their web site, and have not heard anything back from them.

I took a short trip earlier today and when i got home i was unable to open the driver side door.i have not had any problems with the locking or unlocking of this door before and no matter how many times i unlocked the door it remained locked and unable to be opened.the lock indicators showed that the door should have been unlocked but this was not the case.

About 8:30 pm, i was driving on the highway with my infant daughter, who was in a front facing carseat, my son, and my husband were passengers. It was raining outside and the windows started fogging. I turned on the rear defroster and about 30 seconds later, there was a loud bang! i thought someone threw something at my car or shot out the window. There is a block of window where the defroster is smashed out and the rest of the window was shattered!! it is evident that the rear defroster caused the window to shatter. I have contacted buick and found that there is only a 36,000 or 4 year bumper to bumper limited warranty. My car is a 2006 buick lacrosse with over 100,000 miles. I am outraged that this happened. There are no warning signs, no smells, no nothing to warn you that something like this could happen. If i wasn't alert, i could have crashed into a vehicle on the side of me. Thank god my baby wasn't in a rear facing carseat preventing glass from injuring her or my son. Now i have a shattered rear window on my only vehicle. I haven't full coverage insurance nor the money to replace the window. I would like to know if any other buicks have this problem and why i wouldn't be notified of this terrifying problem.
