Gm recall 14030 states in the event of a crash, the siab, front center airbag, if equipped, and/or seat belt pretensioners may not deploy increasing the risk of injury to the driver or front passenger. Parts are not currently available. Gm is precluding dealers form allowing test drives or sale of any new or used enclave until the recall is resolved. Notwithstanding the notice and the failure to repair buick customer service says cars are safe to drive and refuses to provide any compensation to current owners such as myself to park the car until the safety issue is resolved and allow for alternate transportation. So they are telling me my car has an increased injury risk they are telling me it is being recalled they are telling me they do not have the parts to fix it they are precluding dealers from letting anyone drive them and precluding sale but telling me the car is safe not withstanding the notice that says it is not.replacement vehicle should be provided of funds to pay for rental provided so the car can be parked until they can address the recall.
Hello i have a problem with the air bag of a buick enclave 2012 manufactured by gm. And they say that my car has no problem of that type and i saw that car that year has a problem with the air bag. The car does not have to turn on the service air bag light but has had no crash or any change or repair in that part the car, gm's carla representative says that i am responsible for paying all the repair for a gm problem. They sent a diler to see that problem and when he arrived they told me that nobody had notified him of my car and that they checked it but i had to pay,
Frequent message appearing in the message center which indicates "service air bags'.the airbag symbol is also lit at the same time. The message appears at different times and will remain lit for about 8 seconds.it happens while the vehicle is in motion or when stopped, however not at any specific time. This vehicle was purchased new from the buick dealer in el paso, texas and has never been in any type of collision. Aninternet check on this type of complaint shows that my vehicle year is part of ongoing problems with that same message being displayed, however my dealer indicates that my vin is not part of the recall to have that repaired by buick.in my opinion, this is a safety issue and should be covered by buick. My vehicle has 78,000 miles on the odometer and has beenmaintained by the dealer since it went into service.this complaint is a manufacturer defect which should be corrected by buick.this complaint was first noticed around 11-2016 however it was difficult to catch it when the message would be displayed.it took months to notice it as it is shown in the included image since the vehicle would be in motion at the time. I finally was able to get my wife to snap a photo of the message before it disappeared from the dash board.
I bought a 2012 buick enclave used in 2018.this year the airbag dashboard light came on.mechanic says i must replace the airbag (which isn't cheap) and all airbags are disabled until it is fixed.i know there was a massive recall but apparently my enclave wasn't one of them.
I was driving my car and the airbag light came on. I pulled out my manual and it says that the airbags will not work properly if in a crash with this light staying on. It has never went off and is a safety hazard to myself and my other passengers such as my children and pets.
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. While driving approximately 35 mph, the air bag warning indicator flashed and then remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to commonwealth motor (1508 135 marston st, lawrence, ma 01841) where it was determined that the passenger side air bag needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.
Last night (11/21/2016) my 2012 buick enclave's passenger airbag light came on. Vehicle has only 61,000 miles. I took it in and found out that the passenger presence module needs to be replace at a cost to me of $1100. I was also told that air bags will not deploy in the event of a crash. I've noticed that this is an ongoing problem many people have with this car. How is this not a recall?
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. While driving at various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the air bag sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the passenger side air bag would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000. Ma 07/30/15 updated 10/31/2017
Was involved in an accident where another driver seemingly proceeded thru a stop sign without an actual stop, my car was hit on the left side of the car...from side driver's door to front portion of vehicle, including grill...left side tire was buckled into vehicle with probable axle damage, etc. None of the air bags were deployed, and i hit my head on the driver's window, breaking the window, resulting in serious head injuries, etc. My vehicle was on a city street, 4 way stop, and had just started auto motion to turn left at intersection. I will be able to provide photos and additional documentation as requested.
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the contacts vehicle and all of the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the left leg and arm. The front passenger sustained injuries to the head, back and shoulders. The rear driver's side passenger sustained neck injuries, as well as upper and lower back injuries. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was towed to an independent shop however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 30,000. Updated 6/18/13updated 07/11/2013
Hello, problem:front passenger side seat belt alarms with less than 5 pounds of weight on the seat.facts:i own a 2012 buick enclave.i had a service clinic appointment with sterling mccall buick at the sw freeway in houston, texas.a few days before the appointment the seat belt alarm would ding when my purse and ipad was on the seat.i weighed the items they weigh 4.8 pounds.this is the second time i have had this issue.they replaced the module about 45 days ago.outcome:i was forwarded gm service notice document id 31202743/#08-09-41-0071.i could not believe this notice.i am not to put any electronic devices or large drinks in the front of the car. Really?there is a usb in the dash compartment of the suv (without a notch for the cord - rolling my eyes) and gm thinks there will not be an electronic device in the front seat?and a large drink?i really don't get the large drink thing.that is hilarious.my dealership gave me a seat belt extender to keep the thing from dinging constantly.opinion:i think the module under seat is so frequently defective that gm has written this notice to unburdened the corporation of further warranty work.they can't put a piece of aluminum foil under the seat to shield this module from interference?of course i don't know how you could shield it from the large drink threat, bounty paper towels?my concern is if there is an electronic device in the pocket or lap or at the feet of a passenger will the air bags deploy?
The service air bags light is on. I called dealer to find out how much it would be and they said any where from 2-3 hundred to 2-3 thousand. The air bag will not deploy until it is fixed. It just came on out of the blue after starting vehicle yesterday. I checked for recalls and did not find any.
2 months ago my service air bag icon & message came on my dash when i started my car. I took it to get it looked at they pulled a code but now they have to have my car all day to see where the problem actually is. Costing me lots of money for their labor. Give me a break why isnt this a recall for my car. Obviously i'm not the only one having issues with air bag.
Purchased car used from car dealer.dealer states his mechanic inspected vehicle.i drove off the lot with no issues.less than 48 hrs later, service airbag light comes on.vehicle was stationary, ignition turned on when light came on.
I was in a collision on 6/21/2019 that had severe front end obstructions and with a strong total loss as a result. My airbags never deployed. The vehicle was in motion on assembly street, columbia sc.
The contact owned a 2012 buick enclave. While driving approximately 5-10 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to stop the vehicle. The contact attempted to shift the vehicle into reverse and park; however, the vehicle kept rolling forward and crashed into another vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to ballas buick gmc (located at 5715 central ave, toledo, oh 43615, (419) 464-7699) to be diagnosed, which was still pending. The vehicle was salvaged. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. *tp *pm
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the turn signals failed to emit a clicking noise when engaged. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer twice where the radio and instrument panel were replaced at different times. The failure persisted after each repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
Power liftgate motor is not working.when the liftgate was opened manually after the power lift did not work a loud clanking ensued.
Power liftgate is not working. It collapsed on my wifes back after she had opened it to get groceries.
The dashboard lights failed to come on or just go off while the vehicle is in motion.this has happened numerous times.this makes it impossible to see speedometer, etc.after a period of time, they come on.it may happen at any time from the time the car is started to driving speeds.
6/30-gm sam swope tim calls and said car making loud noise and they don't know why?7/2 thursday night pickup car after they replaced timing chain and water pump.7/4-saturday arrive in florida, car won't start.7/6-monday car towed to sam taylor dealership in ft. Walton.they found starter engaging while car was running making loud noise.7/10-friday night and car still not ready after a week.starter and ecm replaced and all wires on engine harness spliced(73 per work receipt).7/27-viewed car with trace starr, sam swope service mgr, and showed him where all wires spliced and mentioned starter engaging and i'm concerned about possible flywheel damage, he said his transmission guy could not hear anything wrong so it's okay and splicing all the wires is considered okay repair.during this time i approached a gm service mgr in a city an hour away and he said absolutely not on the splicing and harness should be replaced. Had not choice but to drive it and it was running okay with an occasional odd occurrence like ac whistling(videotaped).12/29-brought in for recall, back left window not working, and stabilitrac and traction control warning with check engine light.sam swope reflashed the ecm.1/6/16-car stalled and quit with "service engine soon" check engine light.took to sam swope(now courtesy buick) and they replaced fuel pump.3/12/16-my wife was driving straight on dry pavement at 20mph and car stalled hard but did not quit and the traction control check engine light came on.3/17/16-courtesy buick "replaced cylinder 4 coil and plug coil failed".i was told coil replaced, car has not acted up again.3/23-gm called me today asking if i was satisfied and i repeated that the repair was incorrect in florida, they asked for the gm service mgr nearby that told me it was not correct and i would not give them his name.
My car has had to be towed twice due to failure to start. It will crank then the engine light will come on and will not crank anymore.has been at shop two times each time a week with no answer to why.
Twice in the last 30 days our enclave was showing low on gas (usually not an issue) but both times the car sputtered to a stop. Once it quit i lost all power steering and braking. Even after i put gas in the car, the key would not move so i was unable to start the car without a jump. Car was towed to dealership. They were unable to recreate the issue although they were unable to explain why the key would lock up in the ignition.according to buick everything checked out fine. Based on what we are hearing on the news, this issue seems very similar to the cobalt issue.thank you.
When filling up the vehicle with gas, it is flooding the engine... There is also another issue that when you turn off your vehicle and the key is out of the ignition, the car and radio still runs...apparently, there is a fuse box that is causing this problem.
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.
The switch that turns off the radio. When you open the drivers door does not work. Most of the time; without a lot jiggling.

My 2012 buick enclave started having problems on feb. 14th.i was driving my daughter to school and all of the sudden the car chimed about 3 times (almost like the seatbelt sound) ' then all the sudden the dashboard read the following:1.engine power is reduced 2.service traction control3.service stabilitrak4.the engine light comes onat the same time, the engine power is so low that i had to literally floor it, it wasn't even going 5 miles an hour, it was hard to steer and the brakes were hard to operate --- all power functions greatly reduced.then the engine idles hard. This video is exactly what my car does: [xxx] there is no rhyme or reason when this happens---- very random. After a few minutes, i was able to restart the car and drive it to the dealership (the engine light was still on). Since the dealership can't duplicate the problem, they were unable to determine the cause for the problem. Since then, this has happened 10+ times.recently i was going about 75 miles an hour, on the interstate, the car chimed, all the same things on the dash board, i went from 75 to 20 in seconds.yesterday (6/11/18) was the last straw.i was going 45/50 on a major roadway when my car stopped working again. There was no shoulder to get to - an 18-wheeler carrying a large tractor had to swing into the next lane to avoid hitting me. It is only by god's grace that no one was hurt yesterday.once the chime sounds, the car literally stops working.this is a very dangerous problem and in looking on the internet it is not uncommon to gmc vehicles.i have children and do not feel safe driving this car.i don't understand why gmc has not identified the problem.i found this video on-line that seems to identify the problem.[xxx]parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the engine started shaking with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated when he disengaged the accelerator pedal and depressed it again, the engine stopped shaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure however, the check engine light was reset. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring from the original date of purchase. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic several times. The contact stated that the catalytic converter, alternator, battery, fuel pump and fuel pressure sensors were replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 158,000.
My truck started to jerking while i was driving.when i went in the dealership to get a piece for my inter rim was missing.started the truck.went into reverse.when i started in drive wouldn't move forward.haven't had any problems until today.i had to leave it at the dealership for a diagnostic..
After a battery was replaced 15 sensor circuit alarms appear, all due to loss of voltage, upon driving all but 2 resolved. The 2 remaining are the issue.they were the hvac door actuator & heater/ac door motor.both need to be replaced.dealer would not reimburse me,
I had the recall done on my vehicle as part of the 2015/2016 liftgate recall. I have had no problems since. This morning when getting into the back of my car, the liftgate started to close on it's own with no warning (beeping or lights) and hit me on the head. Even though it is supposed to open again when it detects an object in the way, it continued to push close on me. I had to force the liftgate up while it was pushing down. I tried turning the power off and the liftgate won't stay open at all. I tried propping something under it to keep it open, but due to the weight of the liftgate, i cannot keep it open. I effectively can no longer safely use the back of my vehicle for storage, as i am afraid the door will try to close on me every time.i have read that it is an electrical/software issue, as well as an issue with the struts on the door. I had the software upgraded, but the struts were not replaced as part of the original recall. The only electrical issues i've had are that the actuators for my heating & a/c are not switching over. Because of this my defrost and front vents don't work. I live in an area where it is below freezing in the winter. The defrost not working has caused safety issues because the windows will fog up suddenly while i'm driving. I have to pull over often to squeegee the fog off the inside of the windows so i can see while driving. Tried replacing the parts ourselves, and it still doesn't work.i have also had issues with the radio/entertainment system. It randomly changes between band, cd, aux input, satellite radio and usb with no input from me. Although this is more of a nuisance than a safety issue, i fear it points to a larger electrical problem. I have taken my vehicle to a dealership for the actuator and entertainment system problems and was told they can't replicate the issue, so they can't fix it. Does it every time i drive.
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the traction control and stabili trac warning lights illuminated and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that her husband was notified of the failure and restarted the vehicle and drove back to the residence. The contact stated that on several occasions, the traction control and stabili trac warning lights flashed intermittently and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle resumed normal operation once the warning lights was no longer displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to terry labonte chevrolet (1401 bridford pkwy, greensboro, nc 27407) where the steering sensor was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was also taken to hendrick chevrolet (100 auto mall drive, cary, nc 27511) where the contact was informed that the spark plugs needed to be replaced, which was still pending. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where the ignition wires, spark plugs and upper control arm were repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

When accelerating engine will shudder, lose power and drive very bumpy. I have taken vehicle for service. We have replaced all filters, points and plugs. Given the vehicle a tune up and the problem has not ceased. The check engine light is not illuminated so the computer does not give the repair shop the information it needs to repair whatever may be occurring with the engine.
The contact owns a 2012 gmc enclave. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not determined. White ford llc., located at 175 old farm rd, roanoke rapids, nc 27870 and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,000.
Front suspension had to be replaced. Air conditioner, evaporator component had to be replaced three different ocasions..rear gate recall ,replaced lift gates shocks..mode valve actuator replacement.

The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 45 mph and approaching a stop sign, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact managed to coast the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway and attempted to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the piston rods failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a second diagnostic test which confirmed the result from the dealer.the vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 140,000

My vehicle just turned off while at a stop sign preparing to turn. It was towed to a mechanic that advised it was 2 quarts low in oil (oil was replaced 2 weeks prior) and that my battery needed to be replaced. They added the oil and replaced the battery. I drive the car ~ 5 miles home and it stopped again. This time when trying to start the car, there was an audible screeching coming from the engine and the engine was shaking. The mechanic offered to towels the car back to their shop. After inspection, they advised that "something" was broken inside the engine and that it needed to be replaced. My car has 75,000 miles on it; has had regular maintenance; there were no check engine lights and/or over heating lights. I was also advised by the mechanic that this is a common known issue with buick. I'm now left with having to pay anywhere from $7500-$8500 to replace an engine on a vehicle that i've had for 2 years.
While driving during light acceleration a mild to violent shudder occurs causing reduction or loss of controll gm states its normal. No specific speed happens any time at random. After researching extensively it is a common problem among this line of vehicles. Vehicle is an all wheel drive buick enclave platnum edition. No problem or solution is found. This is dangerous
Timing chain slips. Now it is shot.
Timing belt in engine broke.
Gm has know about the faulty timing chain and the seals used on the motor for years and continued to use it costing owners thousands of dollars instead of taking the necessary steps to resolve the problem before continuing the manufacturing process.i have oil leaking out from under the vehicle on the passenger side. This has caused a large amount of oil to accumulate on the engine, brakes and under carriage that posses a safety hazard. I have had to clean this off a few times.
My truck started to jerking while i was driving.when i went in the dealership to get a piece for my inter rim was missing.started the truck.went into reverse.when i started in drive wouldn't move forward.haven't had any problems until today.i had to leave it at the dealership for a diagnostic..
The timing chain failed on my buick enclave.this is a known defect that should be covered by gm under a recall.it is happening frequently to other owners as well.it is a safety issue because if it fails while driving it can result in accidents or injury.the issue occurred while moving and impacted performance, but did not result in an accident for me.i had the issue repaired by a mechanic.
We purchased a 'certified pre-owned' 2012 buick enclave from royal buick of sussex new jersey in february of 2017. The car shut off on friday january 11th. It was towed to rossi where we have been taken it for almost two years of ongoing maintenance, both scheduled and non, and have spent over $10k in the last year alone, on service that did not resolve the clicking sound coming from the engine. Earlier that day i had made the earliest appointment available which was 10 days later, on the 21st. After breaking down, we went to their showroom that following saturday and were seen by charlie. He wrote up a very reasonable deal for $1k down with many incentives including one for me being a volunteer emt. Matt the sales manager came back and told us that my wife's credit score was not what we had claimed and qualified for a tier two instead of a tier one which now required a $6k down payment. We checked my wife's credit score on experian before we left rossi and got the same score we had given matt originally, which we showed him and to which he responded "we use a different system". We decided to keep the enclave and repair it. The battery, solenoid and valves were repaired before the 21st and we were told that we could pick-up the car after it was test driven by the technician. We did not hear back from rossi service so we called and were told that when test driving the vehicle after the most recent repairs - the technician heard a clicking sound coming from the engine. Wow! that sounded very familiar as this was the complaint we had often submitted to rossi in the past and that we suspected prompted expensive and unrelated repairs.this time however they told us they would need to diagnose the engine, so the next day they called us and told us, the car, with just under 103k miles - 'needs a new engine'. No further explanation was offered except a quote of $6k.
2012 buick enclave. Consumer writes seeking reimbursement to for vehicle repairs.the consumer stated air condition line had a small hole caused by improper installation. The line rubbed against the adjacent tube.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the fuel gauge wasfractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage were 34,794.
The fuel gauge reads 1/4 full then a couple minutes later read empty. It fluctuates constantly giving the wrong reading. Several others have had the same issue with this same year, make and model vehicle.
My truck started to jerking while i was driving.when i went in the dealership to get a piece for my inter rim was missing.started the truck.went into reverse.when i started in drive wouldn't move forward.haven't had any problems until today.i had to leave it at the dealership for a diagnostic..
Multiple instances of the transmission slipping into a "neutral-type-state" while attempting to merge onto/into highway speeds. This has occurred over 20 times in the last 1.5 years. Dealership took car on multiple occasions and was able to replicate it 1x. Their corrective measure was to re-download transmission software. This did not fix the issue. This is an intermittent problem that poses a significant safety risk, as the slippage can last anywhere from 1 to 3 seconds.
When filling up the vehicle with gas, it is flooding the engine... There is also another issue that when you turn off your vehicle and the key is out of the ignition, the car and radio still runs...apparently, there is a fuse box that is causing this problem.
I purchased this car from suntrup ford westport in july 2018. The day i took it home i found one issue with the rack and pinion and immediately took the vehicle to my local mechanic to be looked over. After being given a list of issues i took the car back to the dealership and was told that all of the issues would be addressed and fixed. 2 months and no communication later i get my car back and the brake booster still was not fixed, making the car unsafe for myself and my two children to be in. The dealership is now refusing to fix the brake booster which was on the original list of things wrong with the car and making it unsafe to drive. This incident took place between july 21st 2018 till sept 26th 2018
Whenever the vehicle is in drive and on an incline the vehicle will roll backwards excessively if the brakes are not held.if i pull up to a signal light or intersection where there is an incline my heart is beating so fast because i am afraid the vehicle is going to roll backwards onto the vehicle behind me.i have been told by a dealership repair representative to "just apply the brakes."well, you have to release the brakes in order to accelerate and merge into traffic and when i release the brakes to proceed, the vehicle will roll backwards unless i hurry up and accelerate (doing this, i run the risk of crashing into oncoming traffic). If there is a vehicle directly behind my vehicle, i could possibly roll backwards into it or into someone walking behind my vehicle. The dealership repair shop continues to tell me this is "normal".none of the vehicles my family has ever owned or that i've ever driven has done this.the dealership repair manager test drove other enclaves on the lot and he said they did not roll backwards in similar situations.but when he test drove another 2012 buick enclave it also rolled backwards when on an incline and in drive.he told me that since the other 2012 buick enclave also rolled backwards, that he considered this as "normal".i told him it's not normal for a vehicle to excessively roll backwards like that; in my opinion this is a serious 2012 buick enclave issue. What am i to do if the brakes, god forbid, should also go out. I'm afraid that if i'm going up a bridge or something i'm going to roll backwards to my death.
I stopped at a red light on a hill and when i took my foot off the brake the vehicle started to roll backwards.it would roll backward when it was in drive. I almost hit the car behind me. Then i went out of town and tested it on other hills and it did the same thing. When i was going downhilli stopped andi put it in reverse and it rolled forward. When i was going uphill in drive and stopped and took my foot off the brake it would roll backward until i put my foot on the brake and as soon as i came to a stop and took my foot off the brake in would roll backwards again. It would have rolled to the bottom of the hill. This could be very dangerous.
Rear differential clutch pak replaced by dealer service department. "pinion seal is leaking" "replaced the rear differential pinion seal filled fluid..."under warranty - no charge.mileage 24710.09/27/2012 still leaking.called dealership where car was purchased.took to their service department.they diagnosed, "r&r torque tube and found oil on both side of clutch pack.opened tac case replaced clutch pack and disassembled torque tube and cleaned all of residual oil." under warranty - no charge. Mileage 25504.this finally corrected the problem.
I have looked up my vehicle information through gm. I can see where they had the vehicle in a shop in ny to look at it. Unknowingly i bought a vehicle with a huge list of issues! first of all, the torque converter was going out on my vehicle when i purchased it for a dealer. Second, the transmissions on the enclaves, acadias, traverses and terrains are junk! i take great care of my vehicles and have never had a transmission fail on me at 100,000 miles! when gm has this vehicle in ny they should had replaced the transmission and the torque converter when it was still under warranty! they stated that they could not find out what the issue was. Every single person that i have been in contact with that has the above named vehicles are left with transmission failure at very low mileage.now i'm left with having to repair the cost of both units. This should be investigated as to many issues are arising from these models. When you are driving down the road and the vehicle does nothing but shudder and shake while not wanting to accelerate is dangerous! my transmission failed out of no where! i currently do not have 4th,5th or 6th gear.

Last couple years i been having problems with the transmission skipping, hesitating a lot the dealer told me there is big problem with the transmission in this vehicle and they told me i will need new transmission or it has to be rebuilt because it will get worse with time. My mechanic add some lucas to help smooth up the shifting and i did that twice and it getting worse now so i don't know what i will do because new transmission is costly and rebuild also. The problem accurac when i drive every day and it's happens when i be cruising and the car be hesitating and shaking and don't want to down shift and then feels like is stoling and will shut down and this happens all the time. This happens every time i drive so this is safety issue and this is happening to a lot of people and should be recall for the transmission in this vehicle as soon possible. Thanks
Whine or whistle noise. Dealer stated it was low power steering fluid; rack and pinion leaking. System replaced but noise continued. Returned for more work in 5/5 and 5/27/2014. Dealer finally said nothing can be done about the noise, but everything is working according to specs. Noise continues. Buick customer complaint rep. Said nothing is wrong, that everything is according to specs, even though the noise was absent for the first 16000 miles. Customer complaint case number is [xxx] my concern is something is wrong and buick isn't saying.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owned a 2012 buick enclave. While driving 50 mph, another vehicle crashed into the contact's vehicle. The seat belt failed to restrain the driver who, as a result, sustained broken ribs that required medical attention. The front passenger reclined all the way back, pinning the rear passenger. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.updated 03/10/16*lj
Both driver and front passenger seat 'trim' is cracking and falling apart. We purchased extended warranty but it will not cover the front seat trim because ithey won't. They agree that it's not a wear item like oil, gas, brakes, or wipers but still won't replace them.the odd part is that the passenger side is worse than the driver's side but it is usually empty monday-friday. If both of our seat trim are demolished and we give it normal wear, we can't the only ones out there with this ridiculous problem.they just started falling apart about a year ago. I put a date because it was required for submitting this form but it was more of a progressive breaking apart.
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that both front seat head restraints obstructed the view of the road for both the driver and front passenger. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer stated that the head restraints obstructed the view of the road. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 350 and the current mileage was 1,000.
The car was bought brand new in 2013. My warranty expired 2 months ago. The car has only 27k miles.already the power steering fluid line broke and leaking, causing very unsafe steering manipulation. The brake calipers have failed and leaking brake fluid again causing unsafe driving conditions.buick will not fix these issues, which clearly are a result of poor quality.

*tp *pm
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that the front rotors on both sides had rusted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was repaired. No further details were available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,704.
Front suspension had to be replaced. Air conditioner, evaporator component had to be replaced three different ocasions..rear gate recall ,replaced lift gates shocks..mode valve actuator replacement.

A week ago, i felt my 2012 buick enclave wasn't steering properly...like i suddenly have considerably less control...as if the steering wheel is fighting me when i turn.i noticed it because i could not get my car's steering to respond coming onto an entrance ramp onto 76w in pa and it almost veered into the lane to the left (as i was fighting to hold my wheel to the right coming off the ramp). I brought the car to my local gm certified mechanic who did diagnostics and discovered a malfunction in my steering pump and a leaky hose. He suggested i call the gm dealer who repairs my car for any item under recall, bulletin or extended warranty because the issue he identified is consistent with a safety issue identified on earlier enclaves.the service manager at faulkner buick in west chester did state that it is an issue on earlier models and there is a bulletin issued for earlier models for power steering issues in enclaves. My year/vin is not covered.he suggested i call gm.i was on phone with gm warranty for an hour.they opened case but say they can't review case until the steering issue is verified by a gm service dealer. I will have to pay gm service dealer for diagnostics when i already paid a gm certified mechanic for same.gm is not able to tell me until one of their service providers confirms issue what, if any, financial assistance they will provide. The repair is estimated at ~$1000...the entire pump and hose need to be replaced, and estimated labor is 6 hours.in meantime, i have to slow my car down to 20 miles per hour or less coming onto or off of ramps for major highways such as penn tpke because steering control isn't there & it feels as if wheel is pulling in opposite direction, i'm having to fight it, and it feels as if car will skid out.my mechanic looked at all other possibilities and id'd faulty steering pump and hose leak, specifically.
Steering gear boots leaking fluid on awd vehicle.approx $1780 repair to replace steering gear seals needed per chevrolet dealer service department.
On 9/28/2015 on the way to work, whenever you turn on to the road or just making a general turn there is a loss of power steering. There is power steering during straight driving and slight corrections; but , when you turn into an intersection or try to park, you have no power steering. I can handle the loss of power steering but if someone were elderly or not very strong, they would not be able to control the vehicle. This vehicle was just serviced. A complete front brake job, oil change, tire rotation and new rear shocks that the dealership said were leaking. I checked the power steering fluid according to the buick owners manual and found that the fluid was within the recommended level. I am scheduling an appointment today to have this looked at. I wanted to inform the nhtsa as this is an extremely dangerous situation and just wanted to bring this to light for safety reasons. This has been a very reliable and safe vehicle but at this time it is extremely unsafe to drive. Thank you
Car makes loud noise when turning right and steering becomes difficult. It is leaking fluid. The buick mechanics tells me the gear noise boots are leaking and the noise heard is air in the system. They say the entire steering system has to be replaced. The car only has 50,000 miles. This is a gm defect. The 2010 enclaves had the exact same power steering problem and were recalled. $1600 minimum to fix it.
Power steering pump was replaced sept 2017 due to intermittent steering problems when making right had turns generally at lower speeds (78066 mileage).november 2019 same issue (98302 mileage)dealer told me with some cars two years is the life of a power steering pump.i would not be able to control the vehicle if this happened a any rate of speed.also, the air conditioner has been repaired every year since 2015.earlier in 2019 the blower on the heater totally quit and had to be replaced
The contact owned a 2012 buick enclave. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel began to abnormally pull to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician advised the contact that an alignment needed to be performed on the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions where he was told that the failure was undetected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000 and the current mileage was 7,000.
My car has had to be towed twice due to failure to start. It will crank then the engine light will come on and will not crank anymore.has been at shop two times each time a week with no answer to why.

At 60,000 miles noticed a slight "squeak" in my steering when turning. Dealership checked it and stated i needed a new steering rack "...found noice coming from sttering gear input shaft seal, but aslo found steering gear leaking fluid out both end of gear". Quoted me a $1589.00 repair. I was informed this has been an issue on enclaves & traverses, but not a recall.
Front rack and pinion may develop leaks and need costly replacement.symptomsinclude front end noise when turning right or left at low speeds and fluid leakage.noise is similar to a bad strut or power steering issue.buick customer service states there are no current recalls or service bulletins for rack and pinion on enclaves.
Power steering failure in the middle of a turn onto local highway, steering wheel suddenly became stiff and impossible to turn ' i was almost got hit by a truck!later on i had similar issues intermittently.sometimes power steering works but many other times doesn't.this happened after a winter snowstorm when i left the car outside, so my suspicion is that the extremely cold temperature caused some buick enclave's manufacturing defects to have revealed itself.
Rack and pinion needs replacing after 76k miles.rear hatch opens then slams shut on its own without staying up
The contact owns a 2012 buick enclave. While driving 5 mph, the steering wheel failed to turn left or right. The contact turned off and restarted the engine, and the vehicle returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to an independent dealer (jimmy's garage inc, located at 3124 elmira rd, newfield, ny 14867; (607) 594-3030), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
When i exit the vehicle and close the door, the design of the door is so it cuts my leg. I have cut the leg three times in the one year i have owned the vehicle, each time drawing blood through material.the door is designed where the bottom corner protrudes about three inches from the straight edge of the door, the door curves out.so when i close the door, that edge extends past the door and cuts my leg. This is a design flaw with the door and should be corrected. I am tired of scaring my leg.

The power back door"hatch" slams shut after opening. Be the power on or off. Sometimes it will stay open other times it slams shut. It doesn't matter even if you are standing there. It has slammed several times on my childrens' heads. I emailed buick but they stated my car was not involved in the recall but this is obviously the same problem the other 2012 buick enclaves were having.
The hatchback slams shut randomly. It always closes on its own while people are under it.

Took my vehicle in to have nhtsa campaign 15v415000 completed(liftgate strut failure). Took the vehicle home from the dealership and the first time i lifted the tailgate it fell on me. Called them up and they say "oh yes i guess the gas struts need replacing -- the program change didn't do it" . Appalling recall service at phillips buick/gmc in leesburg, florida if you ask me.

Does this several times then you have to press hard and it will finally latch.i just bought this and did not think to check the lift gate on the car lot and was at a store opening it for the first time and it did this scared me i was going to be able to close it to go home.

The hatchback slams shut randomly. It always closes on its own while people are under it.
Liftgate failure and slams shut after opening.
Rear lift gate will partially open then close again, when you attempt to manually open it will not hold in the open position. Lift gate will open all of the way then close electronically, the gate pinned my elderly mother. Lift gate will stop working all together.
Takata recall:on two different occasions, my car stalled while i was in motion. Luckily i was approaching intersections where i was required to stop and was able to do so. The first time it happened, it took me a moment to realize that the car had shut off as all the dashboard readings were working properly and the radio remained on. I finally figured out that the car had stalled and, while it started back up, i was nervous that it would happen again (my daughter was in the car and i was afraid of causing an accident. It happened again today, also while driving my daughter to school, but i stayed on quiet streets in the event that it happened again. This is very nerve-wracking and i can't believe there hasn't been a recall regarding this issue. Since this has happened, i've searched this problem over the internet and have found my experience is not an isolated incident. What is even more disturbing is knowing that some people have been traveling at very high speeds when this has happened to them...a huge liability on gm's part which i would think they would want to rectify right away. Let's hope they do. Thank you for the opportunity to share and i hope it helps draw attention to a very serious issue.
Power lift gate struts failed. This was a recall on other 2012 models. I had to pay $1113.21 for this repair. This created a safety hazard.this liftgate fell on my daughter.we caught it but she could have been hurt.

The rear power lift gate does not stay up and closes suddenly and has caused several minor injuries to my family.i noticed there was potentially a recall for this issue for enclaves made between 2010 and march of 2012 but it doesn't seem to be associated to my specific vin.
Continual ac leaks. I have put so much money into repairs for the ac and when it leaks a white gas pours out of the vents. This link shows others having much the same issues i am experiencing with my car. Https://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/11919/buick/enclave/buick-enclave-ac-problems/p11i'm putting most recent date below although i have had my car in the shop on multiple occasions. Just had it repaired a month and a half ago and freon is empty again.
Gm had recall on power lift gate were struts were failing and falling down on people december 2015 they didn't replace struts(said they were good)and just repositioned them(band aid fix)my wife was hit with lift gate in the back(liftgate came crashing down).i took it to dealer for them to fix.i was told that since the fixed they did in dec 2015 lasted more than 90 days they weren't liable to repair it.gm doesn't care aboutr the health and safety of their customers.they should be made liable to fix and replace the gas struts on these power lift gates before someone becomes serious hurt.$40,000 dollar car and they just don't care.it's a 2012 bucik enclave.i was never told that recall fixes only lasted 90 days?
