I have a 2007 buell firebolt xb12r, and the headlights are becoming dull and flaking off. I've noticed a substantial decrease in the light output since the first day i bought this bike.

The contact owns a 2007 buell xb12x.while driving approximately 15 mph under dry conditions, the vehicle stalled and then crashed while making a turn.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure.the failure is the same as noted in recall # 07v026000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump), but the dealer stated that the vin was excluded.the contact sustained minor road rash and bruises due to the crash.the contact has pictures of the crash.the # of cylinders was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 89.the consumer stated he took the bike to two separate dealers, one stated it was the spark plugs, repaired. The consumer stated the bike stalled again, took the bike to the other dealer stated it was fixed and once again the bike stalled.updated 06/08/07

While riding in interstate traffic, the tall wind screen onthe 2007 buell xb12x motorcycle, flew off and bounced off the front of thehelmet before being run over by the traffic behind me.there was no prior warning to the shield becoming dislodged from the bike.although sudden and unexpected, i was able to maintain control of the bike and was not involved in an accident.i have notified both buell customer service and a local dealer, but replacement of shield has become problematic.i have searched the database on this website and discovered there was a recall for this problem issued in august of 2006.the fix was to replace the bottom two plastic fasteners with metal bolts.i purchased the bike in january of 2007 and the new fastener kit had not been installed on my bike.at the time of purchase, no mention was made to me of this recall or the potential for the wind screen to fly off.this whole incident could have been prevented had the recall been done prior to my purchase.

I was riding my motorcycle (2007 buellxb12x) on august/15/2009 at approximately 80 mph down the florida'sturnpike exit 11 at about 8:00pm,when all at the sudden the motorcycle began tail shaking violently. I was barely able to control the bike and get it out of the highway and felt very luckyi did not have a serious crash. I have been riding a number of motorcycles since i was 18 yr of age without ever experiencing anything like that. I left the bike at a gas station and picked it up the next day. At daylight i noticedthat the drive belt was almost off the wheel sprocket and after a more careful look i realized that the right side rear wheel bearing had busted suddenly, leaving the rear wheel, the swingarm, spacer and the axle severely damaged. I took the motorcycle to the dealership where my conclusions wereconfirmed as per the written estimate that was made. I have a degree on mechanical engineering and have knowledge of motorcycle mechanics.the bike has 3008 miles and according to the dealership the warranty expired last april/2009.i'm still in shock with the fact that such failure could occur on a motorcycle with such low mileage, being the bearing a part supposed to last much longer, without any special required maintenance. I'm now left with a $1,174.00 worth of damageand a fear of ever riding this motorcycleagain in the future. I don't know if this is a common occurrence but i would like n.h.t.s.a. To have it further investigated fora possible recall so it would not happen again to anyone else. I still have the bikeat the dealership shop unrepaired. I'll keep the damaged parts or i could provide you with the name and address of the dealer in case it could help n.h.t.s.a. Further investigate it. Again, this could have been a very serious incident with high possibility of loss of multiple lives.thanks for your time and attention. Hernandes spinola
