New 2010 chrysler town & country: when vehicle is occupied or unattended, random electrical malfunctions have occurred on various occasions -sliding doors open and close by themselves; rear hatch opens and closes by itself; car alarm activates by itself.bystanders and/or passenger could experience physical injuries from unanticipated operation of sliding doors and rear hatch.dealership states it can't duplicate problem, even though chrysler issued a rrt rapid repair transmittal 10-064 to update sliding door modules. The modules were updated but had no positive effect. Dealer advised customer that the vehicle operator must accidentally be pushing the remote keyless entry buttons - a totally absurd remark.consistent faltering and reluctance of transmission to engage smoothly while shifting gears - not a hazard, but another indication of possible electric control problems.
The automatic sliding door wiring breaks which causes the door to stop operating and it causes the wires to arc which in turn can cause a fire the vechile in question is a 2008 chrysler town and country i have found the solution to this problem on ytube so i am not the only one having this problem.
Town and country - shut off while on highwaywhile driving my wife and 2 yr old child, my 1 year old t&c shut off while driving (~45-50 mph) on the highway.i lost all power to the car (including power steering) and was fortunate enough to get to the shoulder with out incident.i put the car in park and immediately started the car up and we continued on our way.it wasn't until later that night, i remembered a recall notice on the t&c i read on the news, in march.unfortunately, we have not heard of when this will be fixed.this could have caused a very bad crash and we now question the safety of the family while in the vehicle.i am the parent of two young children and we purchased the t&c with its reputation of safety in mind.i will be contacting the dealer immediately in the morning, but i am reading many complaints of the same issue.does someone have to get injured or killed before this repeat issue gets taken seriously?

We have a 2010 chrysler t & c purchased new on sept 30 from the localchrysler dealer. It now has less than 2000 miles on the odometer.last thursday evening, dec 23rd, the battery was totally discharged after setting in the garage about 24 hours.none of the remote buttons were effective, the door had to be manually unlocked with the emergency key, and key placed in the ignition switch would do nothing and could not be removed.i tried to contact the dealer next morning, dec 24, but found it was closed then and for the next two days.i could not get the car started by jump start and could not get the battery recharged while connected.finally, i managed to get the battery charged while disconnected. Upon entering the car to start it,prior to inserting the key into the ignition switch, i noticed the heater blower in the second seat area was running. I checked the blower control knob and found it was turned on. I turned the knob to off and back on again.the fan stopped and did not come on back on.the car started normally with no subsequent problems.on monday, 27th, i took the van the dealer who could not diagnose or fix the problem. The problem was also reported to chrysler costomer service.no response has been received. Now we have a brand new van that we cannot trust with an apparent computer and/software glitch the dealer cannot diagnose or fix. What should i do now? until this problem is diagnosed and fixed we are hesitant to drive the vehicle. Just about every function, including brakes, accelerator, steering, lights, heating, cooling, gear shift, are computer controlled. Toyota's problems with accelerator and brakes come to mind. The contact requested that the personal information previous entered by him be deleted from the compliant.vf

While on vacation we rented a 2010 chrysler town & country mini van from enterprise san antonio int'l airport location. We picked up the vehicle on 04/05/2011. We drove the vehicle to laredo texas. After 4 day driving the van, we parked it at the local mall, got out of the vehicle, walked into the mall when the rental vehicle engine burst into flames. There was a loud sound, which was the front windshield exploding, a cloud of smoke then appeared, and seconds later there were huge flames coming out of the engine. This resulted in total loss of the vehicle along with all of our personal belongings. Luckily we had just exited the vehicle so we were not injured other than being traumatized by the entire event. There was no signs that there was about to be an explosion. The vehicle had not overheated, and there were no smells in or coming from the vehicle. We had simply parked the vehicle right before it exploded. The local police dept and fire department arrived on the scene very quickly to put out the blaze. Chrysler and our personal ins company have completed an inspection of the van but chrysler refuses to disclose the cause of the fire to our family. We are very concerned about this and are afraid that another family may not be as lucky as we were to escape this malfunction without physical harm. I would like this issue to be investigated further by someone. We and other families deserve answers the big co won't give us.
Car loses power while driving if key is bumped or if car hits a bump key is easily put in the accessory position and car loses all power. This happened when the keychain was bumped in the middle of an intersection, another time while making a left turn, and another time while driving about 25mph. This is easily duplicated because while driving i have been able to turn the key to the accessory position and it loses all power. My concern is that this will happen while driving on the freeway and a serious accident will happen.

I called chrysler motors and told them what happened. I received a letter later stating that they inspectedand found no problem with the acceleration. I know that i did not cause the accident.

My 2010 chrysler town and country engine continues to shut off while driving. I have had my van in the shop 4 times now for the same problem and they have yet to fix the problem.this does not occur on a consistent basis so the dealership is having trouble duplicating the problem.they stated without being able to duplicate the problem they can not possibly fix the problem.they have made several unsuccessful attempts since 9/2010.now after hearing about this recall, i was hoping to get some resolution to this dangerous situation.unfortunately when i called chrysler corp (1-800-853-1403) as listed in campaign, i was told that while the campaign has been initiated they are not yet applying it to the vehicles. It looks like i will have to exercise my rights under the lemon law to be able to drive a safe vehicle.they assigned me to a case manager, who then told me there is no such recall for my vehicle and the problem must be duplicated for them to be able to fix it.here we go again and my year to purchase date is early may.
My 2010 town and country suddenly stalled while driving on main st. .coasted to a stop blocking the lane since i couldn't even pull over. Vehicle had power, but would not move.called wrecker, but eventually able to restart car and drive it (after several attempts).police provided traffic control until car was moved.fortunately no one was directly behind me when the car stopped.internet search revealed that chrysler is initiating a recall for this problem.called them and they said the recall is by vin and my vin is not recalled.they refused to let me talk to someone who could check further.i told them my survivors would sue their pants off when the car dies again and i am killed, but of course, i am afraid to drive the stupid thing.
We have a 2010 chrysler town and country. The engine will from time to time shut off while driving! it has now happened 4 times including once on the highway!i took it to the dealer and they cannot find the problem. I called chrysler directly and they launched an investigation but stated that they have not heard of the issue and that there was nothing they could do. I explained that i was very worried about the engine shutting off and causing an accident and again they told me there was nothing that they could not do anything.i called the chrysler recall number and they told me that they have had several complaints about this however they do not know how to fix the issue yet. They advised that 'i hang in there'. Again i expressed my concern about my family driving the van with the possibility of it turning off. They stated that when there is a recall they will let the public know. They then gave told me 'if it shuts off again while driving to put the car in neutral and restart it to prevent the wheel from locking'this is crazy and preposterous. How could chrysler ask me to continue to drive a vehicle that could shut off and potentially cause an accident that could result in the death of a family member?!?!?!?!

Automatic door closed on 2 year old's finger.she could not remove her finger from the door until the door was opened.the door never retracted.
The 2010 chrysler town & country does not have a warning alarm when the rear lift gate is opening or closing.because the lift gate can be operated remotely by key fob or overhead button, no person needs be at the lift gate when it is opening or closing.a few weeks ago, my 26 year old daughter was walking from the passenger side of the car to the rear when she walked into the edge of the lift gate as it was closing.it was dark outside and she was not aware that it was only half-way down.she sustained a serious injury to her head and now has recurring headaches.fortunately, she was not carrying our one year old grandchild when this happened, as there is no telling what kind of injury the small child would have incurred.this is a significant safety defect.chrysler had previously recognized the need for a sound alarm because it was included on the 2008 town & country, which i previously owned.this sound alarm had saved injury to several of my family members over the two years i owned it.chrysler refuses to install the sound alarm on the 2010 t & c vehicle notwithstanding that the 2008 sound alarm parts are available.this would be an easy fix for chrysler since the t & c was already engineered for it in 2008.
2005 chrysler town & country van headlights will not turn on.switch has to be turned numerous times and even then, the headlights won't stay on.this is dangerous when it happens at night while driving!!!please issue a recall on this problem.

Pre mature brake failure- front and rear brakes needed to be replaced at 21,000 miles- factory rotors were to thin to turn. Chrysler has service bulletin out indicating problem but refuses to address issue.
2008 chrysler town and country.
The contact owns a 2010 chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 55 mph, the luggage rack on top of the vehicle was not fastened securely and fractured from the vehicle. I just purchased a brand new 2010 chrysler town and country.it had 9 miles on it when we bought it, and within the first 100 miles into a cross-country move, the right, rear window became unhinged.it is now hanging by a who knows what.we are stranded 300 miles from our final destination and chrysler has no idea whether this is a systemic manufacturing issue, a design issue, or even when and how it can be fixed.we have three children in car seats that ride in this minivan, and we know that there is significant risk to ourselves or others on the road if we drive with window that is not attached securely.chrysler has been non-responsive so far to this issue.

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler town and country. While thevehicle was parked, the contact activated the rear lift gatewith the keyless entry; the lift gate door opened stricking her in the face to the point of unconsciousness. The contact sustained injury to the nose and forehead, and suffered severe headaches. The contact stated the lift gate should have an alert alarm feature that announces the lift gate opening. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the they informed that the 2010 model year vehicle was not equipped with a warning tone feature. The failure mileage was 800.

I have had both back tire aluminum inflation valve stems crack.the first one i noticed that the tire continually deflated and had it replaced before my tire lost all of its pressure. The most recent failure resulted in the valve stem cracking and separating completely causing a flat tire. Is the metal used in the stem too brittle or weak? i am fortunate that i have not had this failure occur while the vehicle was moving.i know several other people have had the same issue.as a result i had to have the stems replaced with rubber ones so that i do not have the same problem again.i am no longer able to view the tire pressure for the back tires, and that is a bummer because i paid extra to have this system in my car.i am very worried for the safety of my family...what if the valuve was to break while i was driving?the air does not slowly come out, it releases all of the air out of the tire at one time. I do have the old parts, still.
In april, my wife & i purchased our first chrysler product, a new 2010 town & country (walter chrysler edition). Unfortunately, driving this vehicle on a daily basis has become a safety issue for my family.on four complete random occurrences, the vehicle has completed shut down (stalled). All four times we experienced this issue was when we the driver was making a slight turn (right or left).three times it stalled/shutdown at lower speeds.once at 40 miles per/hour.when it stalled at a higher speed, my wife was driving on a major road way and this could have caused a major accident. I have taken the vehicle three time to our local dealership, armory chrysler in albany, ny. Since they are unable to duplicate the problem, they have made no repairs on the vehicle.i have discussed this matter further with chrysler representatives and to date these conversation have produced no results.
