Transmission failure caused by improper design of spline shaft not long enough to properly seat into clutch hub.clutch splines failed due to undue stress.this is a commonly known failure caused by poor design of bmw with several documented cases on file at almost every bmw dealer.while traveling down the highway the motorcycle lost all forward momentum nearly causing crash and was obstacle to oncoming traffic.motorcycle had to be towed to repair center.motorcycle only has 16,000 miles on it and has never been raced or abused, failure of this type regardless of age of machine should be the responsibility of the manufacturer to address the hazardous condition.bmw should be responsible for the repair of driveline while requires complete removal and replacement.
This motorcycle has linked front and rear brakes.when you hit the front brake or rear brake, both brake.when the abs unit fails, you lose all braking power and cannot stop with brakes.documented on many motorcycle forums of it happening.very dangerous!
When drivingat any speed vehicle pulled to the right. Dealership stated all bikes of this type pulled to the right, it was normal.*ph
