2009 bmw k1300s motorcyclerandomly stalls and turn signals fail to operate.this has been reported by many owners and bmw has failed to order a safety recallwhen i purchased the k1300s, the dealer exchanged it before i took delivery because of equipment failures.

I bought my 2009 bmw k1300s exactly one week ago(july 18, 2009).it has 270 miles on the odometer when it happened.i was in second gear, clutch was pulled in, in preparation for a stop sign.the engine just died, the instrument panel went blank.

Brand new {demo 567 miles} 2009 bmw k1300s stalling 80% of the time coming to a stop while pulling in clutch. Happened at least 12 times in 1 hours worth of riding-not safe at all.

Bmw k1300s stalling. New bike, just had its 600 mile service and approaching a stop sign, i pull in the clutch to down shift and it dies...dangerous is someone was behind me.

2009 bmw k1300s, engine stalls when clutch is engaged and fully rolling off the throttle. It's normal for the bike to stall 2 to 4 times during a 200 mile ride. Engine goes down to idle then stalls without any indication. Very dangerous to drive the bike as i've experience engine stalls in heavy traffic conditions and almost got ran over by a vehicle behind me. I reported the problem to the bmw dealership i purchased the bike from with just 200 miles on this new bmw k1300s. Dealership has made multiple attempts to fix the problem, ecu resets, software updates etc. But nothing has helped. The bmw dealer tells me that this is a widespread problem and the bmw or north america has thousands of open cases with bmw new k bikes (k1300s, k1300gt). I purchased my bike in april 2009 and am patiently waiting for bmw to get their act together and fix this problem. If they don't do something soon, people are going to get injured driving these motorcycles. I'm considering asking bmw to buy my bike back as i don't feel comfortable driving it with this serious defect. I think there needs to be a full recall on the k bike line to help bmw understand the significance of the safety issues they have caused.

The contact owns a 2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle. The contact stated that the left turn signal failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number 09v384000 (electrical system) but the failure recurred three years later. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and vin was unavailable.

I was decelerating and downshifted to 1st gear at 4 mph, i pulled the clutch in and coasted to a stop then the engine stalled. I tried to start button, but there was no catching. I pressed the start button and accelerated the rpm's to 4000 then the bike took off abruptly.one thousand feet later, i was coming to a stop at 5 mph and the engine turned off again. A half mile later i was in first gear into a corner at 5 mph then the engine died.there was no starting with the start button, so i popped the clutch and the engine started and i accelerated.as long as i kept the rpm's high there was no stalling, but if i can to a stop, the engine would die.i was almost rear ended five times today!!!!i almost wrecked in the curve when the engine died.

1. General riding2. Bike stalls when clutch is pulled (usually shifting from 2-n). Occurs in both warm and cold weather, full or low tank of gas. Occurs almost every ride since about 600 miles on odometer (currently about 2,600 miles on odometer). 3. Dealer recently claimed vacuum line was pinched. Return trip home yielded same failure - issue not fixed..

Motorcycle frequently stalls, without warning, when decelerating and clutch lever is pulled in, usually in second gear. There were no events leading up to this problem and the dealer has no solution to the problem. This is potentially very dangerous because the engine must be restarted while the vehicle is in motion.

I have a new bmw k1300s with less than 1000mi that has stalled 2x in very dangerous conditions.the first stall occurred on july 11th, when just started riding on a fairly cool day (50-degrees f) and i was coming to a stop at a red light and the bike died. It started right back up.i was actually taking the bike to the dealership for the initial 600mi service and the dealership made light of the situation and in fact didn't even write down that the problem occurred. The second stall occurred about 2 weeks later after only another 300mi.in this instance, i had just started riding for the day and it was again a cool day.i was slowing down to turn left (20mph in 2nd gear) and once again the bike stalled.in this instance the rear wheel completely locked up and i went down. The bike was taken to the dealership where again they dismissed the problem and told me that it was not a problem they had ever heard of. Since the bike's internal computer didn't report a problem and they were unable to reproduce it they again asserted that there was no bike fault. Stalled initially when coming to a stop with the clutch pulled in about 2 weeks ago. On july 24th i was going down the road and downshifted from 3rd => 2nd and the bike died which caused the rear wheel to lock up and the bike crashed.since the.

Engine stalls constantly when coming to a stop.sometimes stalls when just cruising.

2009 k1300s bmw motorcycle.regularly stalls on deceleration coming to stops.occurs 5 to 10 times per month. Creates dangerous problems in traffic.

Bmw k1300s. 2009 1300 miles intermittent . 15 engine stalls. For no reason .*safety issue*.

New 2009 bmw k1300s motor cycle randomly stalls and dies when clutch is pulled in.

Motorcycle stalls intermittently at low and high speeds.motorcycle has been in for repairs 7 times for stalling and 3 of these times it required to be towed to the dealership due to the engine shutting down when put into gear.the bike is at bmw motorcycles of ft. Worth now, after being towed for the 3rd time.the dealer cannot find anything wrong with the motorcycle but it's clearly extremely dangerous to operate.i nearly got ran over by a logging truck in arkansas when thebike stalled at highway speed.bmw of north america, llc and bmw of ft. Worth refuse to acknowledge the significant safety issue with this make, model and specifically my motorcycle.someone is going to get seriously injured or killed if the nhtsa doesn't step in and force a recall of 2009-2010 bmw k1300s and k1300gt models.this is a widespread problem, check ibmw.com for more information.

2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle intermittently stalls between shifts or when coming to a stop with the clutch disengaged. Potential for dangerous poor handling situation causing a crash , or rear-end collision at traffic light if bike fails to accelerate.

2009 bmw k 1300 s motorcycle stalls when disengaging the clutch to downshift. Happens every outing. Dealer claims it is a known problem with no "fix" as of yet.

Engine stalls (turns off) when slowing down to 25-35 mph in 2nd or 3rd gear.intermittent problem. This has started to happen after 250 miles on the engine, and now it occurs every ride. This means you never can trust a down shift because the engine may stop. This is a safety issue in traffic because you do not have immediate power when the engine stops, you must do a restart. I have taken the bmw k1300s to the dealer for repair and they admit bmw does not have a fix. The dealer contacted bmw and advised them to remove airbox and clean venturi and butterfly plates of throttle bodies. Additionally, fuel injection cleaner in fuel tank was added. Bike still stalls and dealer is unable to take further action at this time.

Motorcycle bmw k1300s stalls intermittently.

While decelerating a motorcycle and pulling the clutch, the engine will shut down at random times. The engine will have to be re-started to run. This occurs at all speeds and i have experienced this approximately 30 times since i first took delivery of the motorcycle 1 month ago. This is dangerous because the vehicle can be in at a high speed and the operator looses the ability to move the vehicle. So far, the dealership has recognized the issue, but i would like to report this as i am deeply concerned about the safety issue involved in this malfunction of the vehicle. I have reported this issue to my dealership and been informed by the service manager, that the vehicle's exhaust valve is closing when the engine approaches idle and this causes the vehicle to stall unexpectedly. The onboard computer has a log of the fault code, but the dealership is currently not able to erase that code or rectify the problem with the closing of the exhaust valve.

Had stalling recall performed in approximately january 2011. Software update has failed to correct the stalling condition. The engine still stalls under a variety of conditions, but especially in stop and go riding.previous recall has failed to correct the stalling problem.

Motorcycle stalled while downshifting from 3rd gear to 2nd gear.

Purchased may 2009,new,bmw k1300s motorcycle.the engine shuts off during operation on a regular basis. Mostly occurs when deceleration but has also failed during upshifts from 1st to second gear. Dealer has replaced a faulty switch, this helped lessen the number of times the bike fails but it did not correct the problem. Recently the engine failed while driving on a freeway, resulting in a near rear end collision as the car behind me almost failed to stop. This problem is occurring on many bikes of this model,. According to the dealer bmw does not have a method to cure this problem. I have reported this to bmw north america. If bmw is unable to cure the problem, i would like bmw to purchase the bike back.

I have a bmw k1300s purchased in april with just over 2000 miles on it.i was out riding this past saturday and had a near fallover at slow speeds while taking off from a red light and turning left, the bike stalled and i nearly fell over.i was able to save it with the help of some pedestrians that were near by.the bike seems have been running ok up to this point and on this day it stalled out on me 5 times all thankfully while i was in town and at slow speeds.usually happens when coming to a stop and the clutch is pulled in.thankfully this did not happen while at faster speeds or i could have been seriously hurt!!!

Stalling issue on 2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle.

Bike stalls on decel and clutch pulled in. It restarts ok.this problem happens occasionally when coming to a stop. This is very intermittent problem. Told dealer about stalling and they also experienced the stalling during test ride after 600 mile service.

This complaint is for a 2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle that was purchased new on 30 apr 09. Since the bike was purchased the engine stalls repeatedly when slowing down, usually below 25 mph, and pulling the clutch in. The frequency of stalls has increased over the past 2000 miles to the point were the bike stalls several times a day and has occurred with regularity when driving at slow speeds in rush hour traffic. Often when the bike doesn't stall it tries to stall but keeps running. The bike has stalled at highway speeds on a few occasions but not often. The stalling always occurs when the clutch is pulled in and there's no warning when the bike is about to stall.

Motorcycle stalls in traffic when clutch is pulled in. This has been happening over the last 500 miles. The motorcycle now has around 3,400 miles. This has been reported to the bmw, but at this time they do not have a fix.

Updated 8/7/09 when the consumer pulled the clutch to downshift at speeds of 20 to 40 mph to prepare to stop, the engine quit running.updated 08/11/09.

Purchased new 2010 bmw k1300s motorcycle from ride west bmw, lake city way, seattle. Unit had 3 miles on odometer on delivery. At 5pm i left the dealer (they also close at 5pm) and headed home, approximately 32 miles. The bike stalled within the first two miles while downshifting on the on-ramp to i-5 south. I immediately realized what happened and was able to restart and continue home. The next 27 miles had no issue. Upon exiting the freeway and downshifting it immediately stalled and once again i was able to restart and continue to my home. The last stall occurred as i pulled into my driveway. I will be contacting the dealer on 9/29 when they open to discuss this issue. I have been reading about numerous others who have apparently experienced the same issue. I feel that without my 30+ years of riding experience these stalls could have led to an accident.****your vehicle description page does not list bmw models for the 2010 model line.****

2009 bmw k1300s engine stalls at irregular times and circumstances when downshifting. Sometimes a restart is possible, sometimes not requiring a pull over to the side of the road. Dealer is aware of issue but seems there is no known fix or identified cause.

The engine has stalled on numerous occasions when downshifting or coasting in neutral (clutch in) to stop.

2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle stalls intermittently upon deceleration or at idle when throttle is closed. Motorcycle will restart if clutch lever is pulled in when the starter button is pressed. Problem reported by several owners.the problem causes several safety risks including a rear-end impact from a following vehicle, rear wheel lockup on clutch engagement, loss of control in a slow speed turn or issues related to a rider distracted while attempting engine restart.

I have a brand new bmw k1300s motorcycle with barely 1000 miles on it that stalls a random intervals and typically when going to idle.this has caused the back tire to lock up/skid and could have easily resulted in a fall.other riders have been injured and accidents have occurred on these bikes.bmw knows but can not fix the problem. It is a very widespread problem with this bike.

Bmw k1300s stalls occasionally when clutch is engaged.no warning lights and does it very quietly.this a huge safety concern and needs to be dealt with immediately.dealer has documented the issue with puma.dealer has no resolution.

New bmwk 1300s 2009. Engine stalling since july 2009 has become worse.i've had a couple near misses on the highway. The very features i got the motorcycle for ( the engine, brakes, handlebar switches) all have been recalled. I have lost all confidence with the bmwandthe k 1300s, and i question after all the recalls i mentioned how many more will surface. I have experience the stalling over70 times. Bmw of manhattan has assured me multiple times that the stalling would be corrected with some software, but that has not been the case.bmwof manhattanhas been working on the motorcycle this time around for over 28 days and counting with no answers.

Have had the turn signal switch replaced once under recall. The replacement unit has now failed. Turn signals will now only function intermittently. Note once again that the updated component installed to satisfy previous recall has failed.

Bmw k1300s stalls occasionally when clutch is engaged.no warning lights and does it very quietly.this a huge safety concern and needs to be dealt with immediately.dealer has documented the issue with puma.dealer has no resolution.

I purchased a 2009bmw k1300s motorcycle a couple of months ago. There is a problem with the fueling system that allows the engine to stall intermittently during deceleration with the clutch engaged fully (no engine braking). This has happened approximately ten times in the first 1750 miles. The bike immediately restarts without issue. It is possible to minimize the issue by using engine braking to keep the revolutions of the engine high while braking, but this is not always possible, especially in a case of emergency braking where my concentration goes towards braking, not keeping the engine from stalling. As of yet this has not caused me a specific safety issue, but the potential is certainly there. I addressed the issue with the bmw dealership i purchased it from, bob's bmw or laurel, maryland. There service personnel informed me that it is a knownissue and bmw in europe are working on a fix. They could not provide an estimate as to when the fix would be completed. They speculated that it is a fuel injection mapping issue. I asked if there was anything they could do prior to the release of the fix being developed and they stated there is nothing they can do to solve the issue. My main concern is that this is most definitely a known issue, is a safety issue, and no date is being provided as to when the problem will be rectified. I filed a complaint with bmw or north america on 8/20/09 as well.

Bmw k 1300 s. The bike stalled out 6 times today. One of the stalls caused the bike to shut off at about 40 mph causing a tip to the side. I have complained to my bmw dealer max bmw in nh a number of times, they opened a ticket with bmw corporate and acknowledged the problem, but would not provide a fix for it.

Brand new {demo 567 miles} 2009 bmw k1300s stalling 80% of the time coming to a stop while pulling in clutch. Happened at least 12 times in 1 hours worth of riding-not safe at all.

1. The motorcycle stalls during low idle operations,ie: slow parking lot traffic, slowing down and downshifting coming to a stop light, decreasing speed & maneuvering around turns, pulling and holding the clutch (engaging clutch) to change gears at highway speeds.2. This is happening consistently at random times, often as the motorcycle warms up.3. The service department @ bmw says corporate bmwna has no solution or fix as of now. Their diagnostics does not recognize the problem. Bmw recommends using low ethanol type gas.

I own a bmw k1300s motorcycle and the motor die at slow speeds. It causeseveral close incidents with cars because of it dying in the middle of intersections at slow speeds.this happen all the time not just once but all the time.

Stalling issue, not safe to drive at all, almost fail when i pass the car, so danger...

The bike stalls when you slow down and go to shift into a lower gear.it has done it numerous times and is very dangerous on a motorcycle.this bike was re-sold by bmw after they supposedly fixed the exact same issue.bmw's fix didn't work, the bike is still stalling.the bike has now been at the dealer for over a month and they can't seem to figure out what the problem is.they just keep replacing random parts to try and correct it.this is a seriously dangerous issue that bmw needs to address correctly or someone is going to get killed.my guess is the mapping unit for the bike isn't mapped correctly and they need to design one that is or can be adjusted properly.

Vehicle stalls constantly. Especially dangerous when downshifting and while turning as it can lead to a fall/accident

Stalling when rolling off throttle.

I have a new 2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle and it stalls at low speeds and the engine cuts off with no notice. I have almost been killed in intersections when i roll half-way through only to notice my bike is dead. Many complaints have been logged in i-bmw.com and k1300s.net websites (hundreds).

Bmw 2009 k1300s stalls intermittantly, usually on a down shift.has occured at least 75 times in first 1,956 miles.usually occurs from 2nd to 1st down shift, but has occured in 5th to 4th and 4th to 3rd down shifts.rear wheel locks up if clutch is released.the motorcycle is reasonably quiet and with a full face helmet i have released the clutch not initially realizing the motorcycle shut off.no accidents to date, but a few near misses.it's a dangerous situation.i have notified bmw and was told they are working on the problem.not very comforting when my motorcycle stalled 3 times yesterday (9/7/09).

On august 29, 2013 my continental contisport attack front tire popped while i was riding my 2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle north of dahlonega, ga.i was lucky and did not crash.i was riding at about 40 mph when the tire popped.the center of the tread separated causing the rapid deflation.i had the bike towed on a flat bed to european motorsports inc. And bought a new pirelli rosso 2 tire for $168.33.the flat bed tow cost me $110.the tire was a conti sport attack size 120/70zr17 motorcycle tire.i found out on april 21, 2016 that continental has a recall on this tire for rapid deflation because of tread separation - the recall notice from conti is psib 14-06 dated november 6, 2014. I called continental and talked to janet decandia at 973-471-8890 email = [email protected] told me i had no recourse because i did not have the tire carcass or the dot serial number.i found the dot serial number from an old picture and on may 19, 2016 i sent her via email all required information proving bike year, model, vin # and proof of current ownership.on may 20, 2016 janet sent me an email telling me "i went thru all your docs as well as checking the bmw website for the oe fitment on your bike, and also the list of vin's we received from bmw that were effected by the recall.your bike did not have a recalled tire on it.the oe fitment on your bike was our 120/70zr17 sport attack "c", whereas the recalled tire did not have the "c" designation.also, there were no model year 2009 1300s bikes on the vin list bmw provided to us.".if the sport attack "c" tire that popped was not a part of the conti recall, it should be added to the recall immediately.it is a safety hazard and someone is going to be seriously injured or killed because of that tire's faulty design or manufacture.
