On my 2004 bmw motorcycle k1200 rs model, the quick release plastic fuel connectors ( male end) fractures and result in fuel (gasoline) leaks.i did not ride my motorcycle for the past two months, and just recently, in the garage of my home, i saw a pool of gasoline dripping under my motorcycle.this fuel leak in a closed garage could of resulted in a house fire, or if riding the motorcycle, could result in a fire while riding.i called the bmw dealership, who were very aware of the problem, and informed me that a metal coupler made by bmw is the solution.no recalls were issued by bmw for this particular part.i checked on the internet web sites blogs, and noticed that is a very common problem, and can occur without any notice.i did save the old plastic parts in order to prove/show to authorities the specific problem.
