The car, while driving, rebooted its internal systems and the car had a 2-second shut-down and greatly reduced speed and responsiveness.when the dashboard and middle console came functional again, it displayed several warnings that certain features (like dynamic drive) were shut off and the car needs to go to a dealership.this car has been plagued with "electronic" problems since its purchase and has been in the shop every two weeks with a system failing or shutting off.bmw has proposed many solutions but have yet to fix it, and after the last "fix" the car started to reboot itself and turn off safety features. Brake peddle appear to resist depression, and braking becomes difficult or impossible.the resistance feels like a control system resisting, and preventing the peddle from being depressed.but it could possibly be a failure of power assist, but it feels like a hard, but slightly spongy resistance, like a hydraulic system closed a valve down stream of the brakes.the issue began abruptly 5 days ago, from no indication at all of an issue, to an abrupt issue in full effect.now it is consistant, and very repeatable.when braking to a stop from over 20 mph, the brakes work normally down to ~10mph.then between 10 and 7 mph, the brakes feel like they are pushing back, if not strongly resisting depression. Braking is difficult and dangerous.take caution.

2 separate issues1st, the vehicle when in park cannot switch to drive or reverse, it will only switch to neutral. Happen on countless occasions. Brought the vehicle to russell bmw who told me i have to pay to replace the transmission. Recall 93562 is now posted on bmw website detailing the same issue. Spoke to a rep who dismissed my vehicle complaint because the vin # does not fall under the luxury package therefore not included in the recall. 2nd issue..the vehicle brakes when applied does not stop. Twice it's happen when i tried to slow or stop resulting in scaring me half to death and near accidents. I also address the recall 87903 with the rep who once again told me the vin is not covered in the recall even though the year and model is included as part of the recall the question i pose is why is the vin determining the qualification of the need to have bmw responsibly fix the 1st year model of their trial and error vehicles. I paid way too much to be told that because i did not have the comfort package my vehicle is not included in their recall? is it going to take an accident for bmw to be fix the necessary problems?

Once the vehicle was parked for a certain amount of time, it produced a large amount of black smoke from the exhaust. The dealer stated that this was normal for that year, make, and model vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The contact owns a 2006 bmw 750li. The contact stated that the exhaust system emitted white smoke while at a stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. The dealer advised that the head gasket seal failed and caused engine oil to leak into the pistons. There was also engine oil leaking into the valves, which caused premature engine oil consumption that bellowed white smoke from the exhaust system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the failure mileage was 73,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.

The doors from inside don't open up when the car loses power you are locked inside also the engine smokes even when the gaskets andseals have been replaced.the car suspension in the rear is terrible also air bag light goes on and off even when the dealer ran diagnosis on the car car is parked

When driving down the interstate the car lost power go from during 60mph to 20 mph and i was on the gas, the vehicle stall out and would take 3-10 seconds to re-gain any power before the vehicle would begin to accelerate. Also once coming up to a stoplight or stop sign, the vehicle would feel as if someone had slammed into the back of me possibly jerking into gear. Spent countless times at the dealership with them giving me the run around, replacing random parts before replacing the entire transmission and still the vehicle continues to have issues. Now the car is misfiring and will not start at all. Been in the shop for 2 months and still not working.

The car transmission will not engage. If you try to put the car in reverse or forward gear nothing happens. The gear goes to neutral and does not let parking gear or any other gear angage. If gear stays in drive mod and when you are wondering what to do gear suddenly engages itself and car shoots itself if brake pedal was not pressed. I contacted the dealer who notified that they could not assess the problem for a week because of busy schedule. The car is in non dealer shop currently.

I called the dealership and they told me my car wasn't included.....but i believe it should be.

.while driving i came to a intersection i depressed the brake pedal but the brakes did not respond. I continually applied pressure to the brake pedal until the brakes responded. The manufacture advised me that the repairs would not be covered.

Driving, with my wife as passenger,on 118 fwy, in simi valley californiaat approx. 11:30 pm on june 6 when air bags deployed without warning, and without collision or impact.engine was disabled and i was miraculously able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road, despite lack of vision from airbag and from dust inside vehicle.no indication of any impact whatsoever.vehicle was completely disabled and i was barely able to get vehicle out of traffic lane.dashboard had two messages:1."engine malfunction"2."fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter"vehicle was towed to a local bmw vehicle on monday , june 10, and i have been waiting to hear something/anything from bmw factory ever since.clearly, this accident could very well have been a fatality had there been traffic on the freeway or had we not been extremely fortunate.

Vehicle had indication of passenger mat sensor failure. Spoke to dealership with no luck on coverage. Called recall number and was told there was only a recall on vehicle for transmission going into neutral. Vehicle was serviced at dealership for water pump failure a few months ago and i asked about recalls and was told there were none for my vin. This is the 3rd thing to fail in less than a year of purchase. 1st was door actuator failure, 2nd water pump failure, and now mat sensor.

Stopped at a light and as i was slowing down the car jerked as if it was being hit from the rear.. Following the light change, i got a hesitant pull off and knocking or the car seemed to skip or as if gear was slipping. 2nd time car was put in d and jumped out of gear and heard a loud thud as if car was being rear ended.3rd time i was approaching a stop signal while driving approximately 30 mph and the transmission began to downshift with a loud banging noise.the dealer cannot replicate this issue at is random, but other bmw owners have noted the same issue.it is possible to get a neck injury from this "violent.

Headlight wireing dry root and can cause fire

Fuel is leaking from the fuel pump electrical connector into the vehicle cabin, apparently extremely similar to what 5 and 6 series bmw's were recalled for (bmw recall campaign 16v-746)

The transmission is very dangerous, when pressing on the accelerator it will rev the engine high, then jump into gear and lunge forward. If stopped at a light, it would definitely kill someone, and when stopping the vehicle, it feels like you are getting rear-ended.on this date, the transmission launching the vehicle forward almost caused a case of whiplash.

Fuel leak in passenger compartment under seat. The plastic cap covering the fuel tank and pump access has a leak near black wire harness connector. Several others in online forums have described same problem.fuel pools beneath right rear passenger seat. Plastic cap has a crack on underside which when pressurized pushes fuel out the top of the cap. Dealership quoted $767.81 for new fuel pump. This is clearly a safety concern as fuel smell is in passenger compartment. The defect is only on the plastic cap covering the fuel tank access and is sold as part of the fuel pump system.the fuel pools inside the passenger compartment

My vehicle has this white smoke coming out of the exhaust after it sits for like a few minutes. Smoke does not come out when i'm driving only when i sit. So if i'm at a red light long enough it will smoke. This just start happening out of nowhere and after looking it up everybody who has these cars almost have the same issue.

I went to unlock my bmw 750 li driver door and get in but once i closed it would not lock close at all, nothing i did worked.eventually had to take my children to school holding the driver door with one hand while driving with the other.not safe at all.i have the soft close feature on my car, so i noticed it was not latching on after a little detective work.so not only does my driver door not shut, but i can't even unlock or lock my doors by either using the key remote or the unlock/lock button inside. Very dangerous, and i can't believe there is not backup for the doors if the soft close feature is not working properly.this is not the first time i've had issues with the soft close doors, on the driver side rear door i have issues with as well.i have to hold the handle out and close for the soft close feature to "catch" the door.very unsafe and requires a recall.updaate comp code to loatches/locks/linkages.*pco

A major bmw safety concern. On a 2006 bmw 750 li, randomly, the driver's door will not latch. Nothing holds the door closed and at highway speeds the door swings open and has to be held close by the driver's hand. When the door won't latch the key fob and the interior electric lock buttons do not work. This is a major safety issue the factory ignores stating the car is out of warranty and any repair must be paid for by the owner. Electronic door latches must be designed to last the life of the car. Randomly the driver's door will not latch and repeatedly closing the door has no apparent effect. Leaving the car in a lot when the driver's door will not latch leaves the contents unsecured. Traveling at highway speeds and noticing the driver's door is not latched is very scary and i'm afraid in the event of an accident death could be a direct result.update comp code to latches/locks/linkages. *pco

The vehicle jerks when going from stop to drive. At times it is so severe that i think the car has been hit from behind. Also moves very slowly when proceeding from stop to drive. This problem is less noticeable while on the highway going at fixed speed. The problem is during traffic drive. Have been struggling with this issue for approximately three years. Dealer unable to replicate problem; however as soon as i drive car, it immediately kicks. Getting worse with time. Another problem is the door latches. All my door latches are faulty. The rear passenger cannot be opened from inside and if opened from outside, you run the risk of it not locking at all. All doors have similar issues.

From 2011-present, my bmw 750 li has been serviced 3-4 times for transmission problems. While bmw states that they fixed the problem, it continues to occur. On one occasion, after the vehicle was just picked following a transmission service, i had to call bmw roadside assistance to pick up approximately 25 minutes later to pick up the car again. While on my way home from bmw, i stopped at a local store and attempted to park. After backing up, then shifting into drive (in an attempt to straighten my car in the parking space) my transmission locked again. I did even make it home from the dealership before the car needed to be serviced again. Today, is august 23, 2012, and my car is again at bmw being serviced for the same transmission issue. This car is so unreliable that i don't drive it more than an hour from home nor can i depend on it being my only source of transportation. My car is at 64,446 miles and it is currently under warranty. After talking to the service technician yesterday, he stated that he is not sure why the problem continues to occur, other than finding a battery fault. I find it hard to believe that bmw would have such difficulty repairing their own vehicles. The poor performance of this vehicle and unsatisfactory work is unacceptable.

The contact owns a 2006 bmw 750li. While driving approximately 15 mph, the transmission seized and would not switch out of gear. The service vehicle warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Driver side door lock actual operating inconsistent it will not go all the way down or up when unlocking everytime.when button is push to lock it click twice and not go all the way down or up as stated before. I get a click click and lock doesn't move much either way. This is a safety hazard that i need to deal with immediately so im writing to ask you has there been a recall concerning this problem as i have read this is a common problem with other bmw owners as well. This is a car my wife drives as well as my daughter and i would hate to think what might happen if there was a accident.

While trying to backout ofmy driveway put car in reverse car jump back in to neutral , while putting car in drive loud clanking sound .many other problems with this car oil leaks around housing.

Transmission was forced to go into park when coming to a stop. Also killed battery. Loss of power and throttle power.

The car was and is knocking when taking off from stop. It feels i get rear ended. Also randomly goes in reverse when in park or does not go to reverse at all. Also at times go to reverse when trying to go into drive shift. When the car is cold going to reverse making a loud clunky sound. Dealer is denying any problem.

Restraint passenger fault system indicator all ofa sudden is on and speakers xrackling and navigation flickering. Also drive control indicator comes on periodically but will go back out for months then just come on. Also transmission seem slow all of a sudden not gradual when these items started taking affect all this while movinf the drive control light scared the heck out of me on the interstate when i first saw it.

Bmw is recalling certain model year 2005-2008 7-series vehicles, equipped with the comfort access option.i have checked my vin # and my 2006 bmw 750li is not part of this recall, however, i have this exact problem in my car and have had the car start to roll on numerous occasions, after being placed in park.i must now use the parking brake on a regular basis.

Transmission fault code, hard shifting and loss of power.

Hard shifting car turns off when driving e brake turns on when driving seal belt tensioner light on

Two continuous issues:1. When depressing the gas pedal the vehicle would hesitate, rpm's would shoot up, and would take 3-10 seconds to regain power and for car to accelerate.i know this doesn't make sense but this happens regularly when car sits in the hot sun during the day.does not happen during cooler days.2.when coming to a stop sign the vehicle makes a hard jerk and feels like someone slamming into the back of the car - hard.the car then jerks into gear.the dsc indicator light then flashes several times until i resume normal speed and then the light goes out. I'm very surprised this hasn't caused an accident or injury to my neck, it's that hard of a jerk.i've had the car to the local dealership and they can't find anything wrong.it's to the point where i don't want to drive my bmw for any unnecessary errands and thought i would upgrade to a newer 750li in the near future but not sure if i want to purchase this model again.bmw, please step up and fix this issue - there are too many complaints out there for this to continue to be ignored.

Wheni put my car in drive it kicks out of gear like in neutral, then when i put it back in drive it does it again. Then i will trun the car off wait about 10 mins then it works. This is very stressing that a person has to go threw this with these cars its sad..

I was driving when my car slowed down thenit went into park and now it want shift back to drive reverse or anything

If you take off slowly from a stop, the transmission, while switching between 2nd and 3rd gear, will propel the car forward abruptly creating a loud metallic sound like gears slamming into each other (immediately illuminating the transmission fault). The transmission will stay in either gear until you stop the car and turn it off. As long as you speed through the gears, this will never occur. Sad to think you have drive irresponsible to prevent transmission damage.i took the vehicle to a bmw technician who diagnosed it as being a bad transmission, drive shaft and guibo joint. After 2-years of learning to power through the gears, my bad transmission works fine, drive shaft and guibo joint are unaffected and chalk up another defective guibo joint blamed for unnecessary repairs. This needs to be recalled as this will disable a car during take off causing multiple safety issues in congestedtraffic.

2006 bmw 750lii encountered a problem that could have resulted in a catastrophic incident.i am currently in mississippi training soldiers for an upcoming deployment to afghanistan. Please read below and advise of what service and help bmwusa could provide.this is a very serious safety issue and i thank god no one has been seriously injured. 18 jan 2013 car was put in d and jumped out of gear and heard a loud thud as if car was being rear ended.car rolled forward about 5 feet in the street.i sat in the car trying to get it in gear.cars had to maneuver around me as i sat there unable to move the vehicle out of the street. 19 jan 2013 drove to car wash, i pulled up to vacuum and put car in p, turned off ignition. Removed key and put on seat. As i opened the door to exit car and was stepping out car, the gear engaged and rolled back.i lost my balance and was able to regain composure and jump back in car and press the break. 20 jan 2013.started car up this morning and everything seemed fine. So i drove to jackson ms to herrin gear bmw.i parked my car got out and walked around.once i got back in my car i started it up, put in d, attempted to drive off and car jumped out of d went to n and i heard a loud thud.after several attempts to put car in gear, i turned off and sat there in disgust.about 20 minuteslater i was able to start and drive to a near by gas station to fuel my car.once i paid for gas, again started to put car in d and it would not go in gear.one the car went in gear it was hesitant to move and had a delay before pulling off.stopped at a light and as i was slowing down the car jerked as if it was being hit from the rear..following the light change, i got a hesitant pull off and knockingor the car seemed to skip or as if gear was slipping.

We were backing out of a parking space and the vehicle just went in gear on its own. I also couldn't get the car to go in gear. Car still does not run right. Transmission isn't right, when vehicle is started it just kicks back in neutral and will not go in drive or reverse. Dealer can't seem to fix nor can they tell me anything that they can do to fix other that buying new transmission. I have only had the car for 6 months and all service work was done at bmw of sarasota. I have only put 4,050 miles on vehicle since november and i have not had the vehicle since april because they can't seem to fix car.

When i was in park put car in reverse and car would not go in reverse went back into neutral on its own , so i put car backin park and retriedand put it reverse several times and when the transmission kicked into reverse there was a large clank sound and a jerk that felt like i had been hit from behind , when stopped at red light to take off same thing the car jerked again . Then transmission fault light cameon stated drive moderately, and another warning came on stating certain gears were not working correctly . Parked in garage and after several attempts the car did the same thing , vehicle was taken to local dealership for inspection and diagnostic testing to detect problems .

Transmission fails to switch gears and lags and bumps, when entering highway won't accelerate and almost was hit by oncoming highway traffic and could have caused a mega accident and possibly lost my life. I have read several hundred complaints online and bmw has not taken any responsibility.

Takata recallwas driving my 750 li after about 15 minutes i stopped at a friend house to chat. Ten minutes later i was leaving walk to car crunck up put in gear and it jumped back to park i tried reverse it jump back to park so i cut off. My car is not getting into gear. It stop at red lights and did not move when shifting to gear it automatically goes back to parking. Some time it looks its going to go but then it goes back to park again. After while it goes in neutral and i was able to push nearby parking area.now i am towing to dealer.

While driving out of town for the 4th, my transmission default light came on, i have only driven this car from the dealership, less than two weeks, at $32,000 this is unacceptable. Thank you for you help in advance.

The contact owns a 2006 bmw 750li. While driving approximately 35 mph, the transmission failure warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the vehicle or determine the cause of the failure. I have the 06 750 li. It has 65,000 miles on it, when i put it in drive it will kick out of drive to neutral or when i put in park it will kick out of park to neutral, then a message will come up saying transmission fault, then i will turn the car off and i will restart the car. This will work at times. This happens at least twice a week.also, if in park and i turn on the air conditioning the car will shift out of park to neutral. My guess is the small rise in rpms, very dangerous the first time this happened.the car was and is knocking when taking off from stop. Going from stop to 1st orslowing from 2nd to stop is harsh and feels like being rear ended.

I was driving on the freeway and coming down the ramp where i slowed down to go around ramp and when i got to the bottom of ramp i pressed on the gas pedal to pick up speed and i heard a whistling noise and that's when the transmission light came on and the car slowed down on its on as well as the transmission slipping.

When pushing on the gas, the vehicle would stall, rpm's would shoot up, and would take 3-10 seconds to re-gain any power before the vehicle would begin to accelrate.also once coming up to a stoplight or stop sign, the vehicle would feel as if someone had slammed into the back of me possibly jerking into gear.spent countless times at the dealership with them giving me the run around, replacing random parts before replacing the entire transmission and still the vehicle continues to have issues.

Got in car this morning and car would not go into drive or reverse.

Pre-owned vehicle -transmission issue which is not mechanical...vehicle did not shift to reverse from park. Local bmw dealer says new transmission is needed.research indicates it to be a problem with the vehicle electronics (solenoid) which sends shift signal to the transmission.bmw will not say this is an inherent issue with its product as evidenced by the number of similar complaints. When vehicle is in motion on any roadway at 40-55 mph, a series of fault codes are displayed on the dashboard [transmission fault-drive moderately], and subsequently the vehicle will stall and not engage into gear. Efforts to prove that this is not owner/consumer responsibility due to the internal nature of the fault(s) are not accepted by the bmw dealer/company. The cost of company stated repairs ($3500-$8000) are beyond what the value of the vehicle is and financial ability to pay.

On said date i was sitting idle while talking on my cell phone. The car was in park. It was cold in car so i went to turn the heat up and when i did the vehicle went into neutral and started to roll. I then stopped the car and turned it off. I then restarted the car and went to turn the heat on once again and the vehicle once again went into neutral. I then called bmw and advised them of what happened. The contact owns a bmw 750 li.he lives on a near a cliff and when he parks his vehicle on an incline the vehicle lurches forward.this happens consistently 20 seconds after parking the vehicle and engaging the emergency brake.he first noticed the failure, approximately in february 2007, after parking on an incline. The degree of the incline is not relevant to the failure, even a slight incline will produce the failure, but a large incline will jolt the vehicle forward more violently.the weather was not a factor in the failure.he was told by the service dealer that all bmw 750s perform in this manner and he has that statement written on a service order.the failure mileage was 1300 and the current mileage was 22156. If necessary, please contact the owner via email.

I have a bmw 750li sedan.the transmission in this car intermittently but approximately 1 time per month has a violent downshift into a low gear.it feels like you have just been rear ended by another car and it is possible to get a neck injury from this "violent" slamming.it happens to other owners of this car as i have read about it on many forums.bmw won't do anything about it if you can not replicate the problem.it seems to happen most often when you are traveling at slow speeds going up a steep hill and you take you foot off the accelerator and then start to accelerate.it is unnerving and dangerous especially if you have passengers in the car.

I have had my car in for service for an problem, that when moving from stop at an red light/ stop sign. It seen as if i'm being hit from the rear, this the second time it has been there for the same issue. First they could not find any problem, second time they wanted 1400.00 dollar to repair the car, but after an call to the service manger. There an service bulletin on the problem. After replacing dmv, they said that this would fix the issue, on the home at an rolling stop where the red light turn green (less 5 mph ) when gas pedal was push the clunk returned.

When driving at low speeds and then lightly accelerating, vehicle slams into a lower gear causing my head to snap back. I have experienced this three times in the past 3 months. The dealer cannot replicate this issue at is random, but other bmw owners have noted the same issue.

From what i understand the mat disables the airbag when there is insufficient weight applied.

Brake vacuum pump booster has failed due to contamination even after brake booster supply line was replaced in december, 4, 2010. When vehicle is in motion, the car loses power to brakes, brake pedal feels hard and vehicle takes 20-30 ft longer to brake even if pushing down with maximum force. This caused vehicle to take an infinite amount of time to stop, which resulted in car nearly running into another vehicle when issue occurred. Luckily i swerved off highway unto median. This issue can result in death or catastrophic accident as brake booster vacuum pump is affected in such a way that brake power is 50% less than normal, low to negligible brake power means car does not stop normally, it takes more time to stop, which can lead to death from rear end collisions, freak accidents and even running into persons or objects when parking.

Car doors do not latch doors fly open , car has rolled out of park, brakes do not engage ruff stopping seat belt lights on all the time. Problems with electrical seats.

.while driving i came to a intersection i depressed the brake pedal but the brakes did not respond. I continually applied pressure to the brake pedal until the brakes responded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where the mechanic replaced the front brakes and rotors. The mechanic found contamination in the brake booster andnotification of nhtsa campaign id number: 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum) the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer changed the valves & then told me i had to pay for diagnostic cause the breaks weren't working which i did paid $149 plus tax. After the diagnostic the technician stated that the brake booster would have to be replaced. Per the recall, the brake booster could become contaminated over time due to the recalled failure. The manufacture advised me that the repairs would not be covered.

After receiving a recall letter from bmw for the brake vacuum pump (recall campaign no. 10v-446), i took the car to crevier bmw but was told they didn't have the part. Never heard back from crevier bmw, forgot about it until the brakes completely failed without warning. Had the car towed to the nearest dealer in irvine. They replaced the vacuum supply line but not the vacuum pump. They recommended i replace the leaking vacuum pump at my cost of over $900.the description of the problem included in the recall letter from bmw specifically indicates that the leak from the vacuum pump into the vacuum hose, is the root of the problem. I spoke to j, mcclain at bmw and she said that the recall is a federal mandate and this mandate only requires them to replace the line not the pump.

Took my car in to be serviced and was informed of this leak in the vacuum pump and steering switch. Consequently, i seen there was a recall for 2006 bmws with a nhtsa campaign id number of 10v446000 with a recall date of 2012-10-01 for the vacuum pump. I called the dealership and they told me my car wasn't included.....but i believe it should be.

I own an 2006 bmw 750li, vin#. [xxx], with about 34,428 miles on the care. I am getting a message every now and then since 2 dayson the dashboard that mentions that the fluid is low and pressure loss in the hydraulic system. When i drive, i feel thatit is getting harder to turn at sharp angels. I now see the fluid loss on my garage floor after i saw the message on the dashboard. I researched on the www.bmwusa.com website, and i see that there is a recall campaign for the exact same issue on newer vehicle models (model year 2012-13 bmw x5 sav and model year 2013 bmw x6 sac), caused by the steering gear housing which causes the with fluid and hydraulic pressure loss under the campaign # 12v-267: steering gear which describes the problem as below on the recall campaign notice."description of problemthe issue involves the steering gear. Due to a machine process error at the supplier, a snap ring in the steering gear housing can loosen during vehicle operation. This would lead to leakage of power steering fluid flowing into the rubber boot of the steering gear, causing a pressure loss in the hydraulic system. The result is a loss of power steering assist. Steering function will be maintained; however, the effort required to steer the vehicle will be significantly higher. In some cases, power steering fluid can spray onto hot exhaust components. Therefore, an engine compartment fire may occur. "i later called back the local dealer united bmw in roswell, ga to report about the recall and the service rep said, my vin# doesn't show up on this recall and so i would have to call bmwusa or nhtsa to report this issue. Hence i am reporting this to the nhtsa. Please let me know what the next steps would be and if i can get the issue fixed und er the recall notice # 12v-267: steering gear. Look forward to your advice.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Got into the vehicle with my passengers. We where leaving a walmart when all of a sudden i made a sharp turn and my door just popped open.my passenger would have fell out of the car if her seatbelt was not on.luckily i was not close to any cars or there would have been a crash.i contacted bmw about the issue because i saw there was a recall on that same part that broke in my door panel.in the recall letter i read on your site i saw that bmw acknowledged the problem, and recalled vehicles of my year and make because the doors where popping open out of now where.bmw told me they can't do nothing for me and to visit a service center where i was quoted at 1000 dollars to fix a problem.i don't have that kind of money to pay for something bmw is a fault for and acknowledged.i currently have two bungee cords holding my door shut it still wont close to this day.my passenger could have died.i am filing this complaint because i want them to be accountable and fix this issue.i am worried to death it could happen to another door with another passengeri would understand if it was normal wear and tear i have to get fixed but this is unsafe and not normal wear and tear.

The vehicle then crashed into the fire extinguisher on the street and finally stopped. The failure occurred without warning. The driver's side air bag deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a scratch on the right hand, which did not require medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The manufacturer and the dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 181,000.
