Driving, with my wife as passenger,on 118 fwy, in simi valley californiaat approx. 11:30 pm on june 6 when air bags deployed without warning, and without collision or impact.engine was disabled and i was miraculously able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road, despite lack of vision from airbag and from dust inside vehicle.no indication of any impact whatsoever.vehicle was completely disabled and i was barely able to get vehicle out of traffic lane.dashboard had two messages:1."engine malfunction"2."fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter"vehicle was towed to a local bmw vehicle on monday , june 10, and i have been waiting to hear something/anything from bmw factory ever since.clearly, this accident could very well have been a fatality had there been traffic on the freeway or had we not been extremely fortunate.

Airbags never popped open, door handle opened and is still not shutting correctly.since my car was paid in full, i did not carry full coverage only liability so i did not file a claim. I paid the damages out of my own pocket and just this week i've paid the last $1200.00 of the part ordered for last of repairs. In total ive paid a little over 15,000 out of my own money.

The seat sensor is failing on the driver side reporting a driver restraint system fault. Causing error of airbag system. Possibly due to massage seat leaking. Read numerous reports about same error fault on bimmerfest.com forums.

I was told that my vin is not included in the recall. It looks like they picking and choosing cars instead of recalling all cars that have this manufacturing defect.needs corrective action.

Bmw have a recall on 2006 bmw 750li passenger seat mat, this defect will keep the air bag from deploying during an accident.but in most bmw, from friends of mine the driver seat mat is the one that defective on a regular bases but bmw is avoiding the repair, this defect can a will cause someone their life. The recall# 13v564000 for the passenger seat mat, but the driver seat mat is the problem.my drive seat mat is broken my car only have 72000 miles on the car,bmw is avoiding the repair.correct now or some one will die soon, because of this defect.....updated 04/23/15

The car, while driving, rebooted its internal systems and the car had a 2-second shut-down and greatly reduced speed and responsiveness.when the dashboard and middle console came functional again, it displayed several warnings that certain features (like dynamic drive) were shut off and the car needs to go to a dealership.this car has been plagued with "electronic" problems since its purchase and has been in the shop every two weeks with a system failing or shutting off.bmw has proposed many solutions but have yet to fix it, and after the last "fix" the car started to reboot itself and turn off safety features. The car has had a "version update" of the software but that has seemed to make matters worse.i have pictures of the on-display faults that were being displayed as well as a video recording of the system rebooting itself.

Brake peddle appear to resist depression, and braking becomes difficult or impossible.the resistance feels like a control system resisting, and preventing the peddle from being depressed.but it could possibly be a failure of power assist, but it feels like a hard, but slightly spongy resistance, like a hydraulic system closed a valve down stream of the brakes.the issue began abruptly 5 days ago, from no indication at all of an issue, to an abrupt issue in full effect.now it is consistant, and very repeatable.when braking to a stop from over 20 mph, the brakes work normally down to ~10mph.then between 10 and 7 mph, the brakes feel like they are pushing back, if not strongly resisting depression. Braking is difficult and dangerous.take caution.

The right side passenger soft auto close latch is not working. The latch somehow tries to unlock when trying to soft close and door remains open. Door has to be manually hard closed due to this issue. This seems to be a widespread problem for a $100k car. No updates or reset option available on the internet.

There are times when i press on the gas and it feels like the transmission would be slipping and then a violent kick from the back of the car comes right after.

Abs is completely messed up car slides at every turn/move! if brakes are pressed a little to fast brakes block and doesn't stop the car! which caused me to crash into another car!

2 separate issues1st, the vehicle when in park cannot switch to drive or reverse, it will only switch to neutral. Happen on countless occasions. Brought the vehicle to russell bmw who told me i have to pay to replace the transmission. Recall 93562 is now posted on bmw website detailing the same issue. Spoke to a rep who dismissed my vehicle complaint because the vin # does not fall under the luxury package therefore not included in the recall. 2nd issue..the vehicle brakes when applied does not stop. Twice it's happen when i tried to slow or stop resulting in scaring me half to death and near accidents. I also address the recall 87903 with the rep who once again told me the vin is not covered in the recall even though the year and model is included as part of the recall the question i pose is why is the vin determining the qualification of the need to have bmw responsibly fix the 1st year model of their trial and error vehicles. I paid way too much to be told that because i did not have the comfort package my vehicle is not included in their recall? is it going to take an accident for bmw to be fix the necessary problems?

My 2006 bmw 750li was parked in my drive on friday 7/5/2019 around 11:00 p.m. And remained there. On sunday morning 7/7/2019 around 8:45 a.m. My car alarm sounded and when i look outside my car was on fire. The blaze from the firs not only burned up my bmw but also my damaged my suv and damaged my other car. The car was parked for over 36 hours before the fire began.

When i was in park put car in reverse and car would not go in reverse went back into neutral on its own , so i put car backin park and retriedand put it reverse several times and when the transmission kicked into reverse there was a large clank sound and a jerk that felt like i had been hit from behind , when stopped at red light to take off same thing the car jerked again . Then transmission fault light cameon stated drive moderately, and another warning came on stating certain gears were not working correctly . Parked in garage and after several attempts the car did the same thing , vehicle was taken to local dealership for inspection and diagnostic testing to detect problems .

When driving down the interstate the car lost power go from during 60mph to 20 mph and i was on the gas, the vehicle stall out and would take 3-10 seconds to re-gain any power before the vehicle would begin to accelerate. Also once coming up to a stoplight or stop sign, the vehicle would feel as if someone had slammed into the back of me possibly jerking into gear. Spent countless times at the dealership with them giving me the run around, replacing random parts before replacing the entire transmission and still the vehicle continues to have issues. Now the car is misfiring and will not start at all. Been in the shop for 2 months and still not working.

The car transmission will not engage. If you try to put the car in reverse or forward gear nothing happens. The gear goes to neutral and does not let parking gear or any other gear angage. If gear stays in drive mod and when you are wondering what to do gear suddenly engages itself and car shoots itself if brake pedal was not pressed. I contacted the dealer who notified that they could not assess the problem for a week because of busy schedule. The car is in non dealer shop currently.

Took my car in to be serviced and was informed of this leak in the vacuum pump and steering switch. Consequently, i seen there was a recall for 2006 bmws with a nhtsa campaign id number of 10v446000 with a recall date of 2012-10-01 for the vacuum pump. I called the dealership and they told me my car wasn't included.....but i believe it should be.

2006 bmw 750 li.consumer writes in regards to vehicle oil leak and major mechanical problems.the dealer agreed to fix the vehicle. However, when the consumer picked the vehicle up, the leak was still present. The consumer went to another dealer, where she was informed the vehicle had multiple leaks; the alternator mount bracket seal was leaking, as well as the valve guide seals, the upper timing case cover seals, the valley pan was leaking coolant and the vacuum pump was leaking. The mechanic stated even though the vehicle had a good appearance, he observed signs of wear on the engine parts and road grime and stains on other engine parts. Updated 04/16/14.

If you take off slowly from a stop, the transmission, while switching between 2nd and 3rd gear, will propel the car forward abruptly creating a loud metallic sound like gears slamming into each other (immediately illuminating the transmission fault). The transmission will stay in either gear until you stop the car and turn it off. As long as you speed through the gears, this will never occur. Sad to think you have drive irresponsible to prevent transmission damage.i took the vehicle to a bmw technician who diagnosed it as being a bad transmission, drive shaft and guibo joint. After 2-years of learning to power through the gears, my bad transmission works fine, drive shaft and guibo joint are unaffected and chalk up another defective guibo joint blamed for unnecessary repairs. This needs to be recalled as this will disable a car during take off causing multiple safety issues in congestedtraffic.

I have the 06 750 li. It has 65,000 miles on it, when i put it in drive it will kick out of drive to neutral or when i put in park it will kick out of park to neutral, then a message will come up saying transmission fault, then i will turn the car off and i will restart the car. Efforts to prove that this is not owner/consumer responsibility due to the internal nature of the fault(s) are not accepted by the bmw dealer/company. I have a bmw 750li sedan.the transmission in this car intermittently but approximately 1 time per month has a violent downshift into a low gear.it feels like you have just been rear ended by another car and it is possible to get a neck injury from this "violent" slamming.it happens to other owners of this car as i have read about it on many forums.bmw won't do anything about it if you can not replicate the problem.it seems to happen most often when you are traveling at slow speeds going up a steep hill and you take you foot off the accelerator and then start to accelerate.it is unnerving and dangerous especially if you have passengers in the car.

I have had my car in for service for an problem, that when moving from stop at an red light/ stop sign. Brake vacuum pump booster has failed due to contamination even after brake booster supply line was replaced in december, 4, 2010. When vehicle is in motion, the car loses power to brakes, brake pedal feels hard and vehicle takes 20-30 ft longer to brake even if pushing down with maximum force. This caused vehicle to take an infinite amount of time to stop, which resulted in car nearly running into another vehicle when issue occurred. Luckily i swerved off highway unto median. This issue can result in death or catastrophic accident as brake booster vacuum pump is affected in such a way that brake power is 50% less than normal, low to negligible brake power means car does not stop normally, it takes more time to stop, which can lead to death from rear end collisions, freak accidents and even running into persons or objects when parking.

Never heard back from crevier bmw, forgot about it until the brakes completely failed without warning. Had the car towed to the nearest dealer in irvine. They replaced the vacuum supply line but not the vacuum pump. They recommended i replace the leaking vacuum pump at my cost of over $900.the description of the problem included in the recall letter from bmw specifically indicates that the leak from the vacuum pump into the vacuum hose, is the root of the problem. I spoke to j, mcclain at bmw and she said that the recall is a federal mandate and this mandate only requires them to replace the line not the pump.

I am getting a message every now and then since 2 dayson the dashboard that mentions that the fluid is low and pressure loss in the hydraulic system. When i drive, i feel thatit is getting harder to turn at sharp angels. I now see the fluid loss on my garage floor after i saw the message on the dashboard. I researched on the www.bmwusa.com website, and i see that there is a recall campaign for the exact same issue on newer vehicle models (model year 2012-13 bmw x5 sav and model year 2013 bmw x6 sac), caused by the steering gear housing which causes the with fluid and hydraulic pressure loss under the campaign # 12v-267: steering gear which describes the problem as below on the recall campaign notice."description of problemthe issue involves the steering gear. Due to a machine process error at the supplier, a snap ring in the steering gear housing can loosen during vehicle operation. This would lead to leakage of power steering fluid flowing into the rubber boot of the steering gear, causing a pressure loss in the hydraulic system. The result is a loss of power steering assist. Steering function will be maintained; however, the effort required to steer the vehicle will be significantly higher. In some cases, power steering fluid can spray onto hot exhaust components. Therefore, an engine compartment fire may occur. "i later called back the local dealer united bmw in roswell, ga to report about the recall and the service rep said, my vin# doesn't show up on this recall and so i would have to call bmwusa or nhtsa to report this issue. Began getting low tire pressure warning. Removed tire to check for nail or puncture, noticed inside lip of rim has small crack.
