A seat occupancy detector fault prevents the entire airbag system from working. This fault signal appears when the car is started and continues until it is off. The airbag fault signal was checked and confirmed to be a failure of the passenger seat detector. This is a common bmw problem. It caused nhtsa recall 13v564000 (11/12/13) and is now the subject of an extensive bmw warranty extension for many models in lieu of a recall, but not for the 2007 7 series. Bmw service bulletin si b01 01 18 (may 2018) identifies 12 model types given a lifetime warranty extension for specified years: e53 (x5) for 2001-2006; e60 (5 series) 2004-2008; e61 (5 series wagon) 2006-2007; e63 (6 series) 2004-2008); e64 (6 series convertible) 2004-2008; e65-e66 (7 series) 2002-2006; e83 (x3) 2004-2010; e85 (z4) 2003-2007; e86 (z4 coupe) 2006-2008; e90 (3 series sedan) 2006-2007; and e91 (3 series touring) 2006-2007. For no apparent reason, the 2007 7 series is excluded from this warranty extension. A specialty bmw repair shop that uses bmw trained personnel confirmed that there was no material difference in the seat detection system between models included in the bmw warranty extension and those excluded from it, like the 2007 7 series. The bmws have a design shortcoming that requires that a repair of a failed passenger seat occupancy detector is extremely expensive, requiring extensive work to rework the entire passenger seat. That expense in the range of $2,000, is a great disincentive to repairing older models with diminished value. That creates additional danger of no air bag protection in these cars. When asked, bmw representatives made no attempt to explain why the 2007 7 series is excluded from the warranty extension, saying only that the choice of models covered is based on internal data and bmw customer service has no discretion to cover or reduce costs for models not included.
Just had to paid over $900 dollars to have my fronts passenger air bag seatoccupancy sensor mat replaced. I see that there was a recalled issued forthese item on november 2013 recall campaign number 13v-564. I was told bybmw of dallas that my vin number was not part of the recall. I find it a an oddcoincident that my vehicle air bag light was on and bmw techniciansdiagnose the problem as a faulty sensor mat but i'm told that my vehiclemanufacture date does not fall within the dates the faulty mat was used. Ithink bmw should look into the possibility that more vin numbers might havebeen affected by a faulty mat and more vin numbers should be part of therecall.
My passenger air bags are inoperable in my vehicle. It was this way when i bought the car. It was reported to me the vehicle was under recall for the situation but when i had the car taken to the dealership, they informed me my particular vehicle wasn't under recall. My question is why is my car isn't one of the vehicles under recall. I had the car checked out by a certified bmw mechanic and he stated it's in the passenger occupancy detector.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 750i. The contact stated that the passenger front air bag failed. The warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic to have a diagnostic performed which located the failure at the passenger front seat satellite. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,555 and the approximate current mileage was 103,000.

Vehicle was parked with engine off and spontaneously combusted. ***i have video footage of the entire ordeal. ***** the car had been parked for roughly 4 hours prior to fire starting underneath the hood fo no apparent reason. Reached out to bmw and was told due to the severity of the damage their investigators could not determine the cause or origin of the fir at the time of the inspection. The national engineering group observed thermal damage isolated to the engine compartment with greater consumption towards the front. This occurred due to no fault of my own and bmw is denying responsibility and help.

Hid headlights and the amount of glare produced needs to be regulated by the government.i drive a lot of narrow county 2 lane raads where there are no right side white lines.i have to close my eyes sometimes when cars with these new headlights approach.i drive with regular headlights at safe speeds at night andhave never felt the need for these flamethrower lights.i'm sure drivers with hid's love them but they are jeopardizing the safety of themselves and me.bmw lights seem to be the worst.the american made cars with hid'sseem to be better.

While driving my vehicle on the highway it unexpectedly went into neutral.i was able to pull off to the side and restart the car.on a separate occasion i was driving on a city street and it went into neutral again.i had to turn on the caution lights and restart the car.as i made it to my driveway it went into neutral again as i was turning.i took it into the dealer and they cannot pinpoint to cause but speculate unmetered air as a potential cause.reading about this type of problem i came across a recall describing my exact problem but for 2006 5 series.my car is a 2007 7 series. The nhtsa campaign id number is 16v919000.the recall describes a problem identical to mine.unfortunately i had to spend $187 to find out that there was no definitive solution.
Gear shift from park to neutral.
I brought my vehicle to a complete stop, shifted the vehicle in "park" and saw the "p" light come on the dash, and proceeded to exit the vehicle.because i was only retrieving my mail from the mailbox, i did not turn the car off or put the parking brake on.as i exited the car, and took my foot off the brake pedal, the vehicle started to move forward even thought the "p" was lit on the dash.i immediately grabbed onto the door and jumped back in the car, as it almost hit me from behind and pressed on the brake pedal, and all the while, the shift indicator was lit in the "p" for park position.since then, i have had a few instances where the vehicle will not start and the dash indicator light reads "transmission fault drive moderately".it appears and then goes away and does not re-appear.from this point, i now use the emergency brake whenever i stop the vehicle to get out.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I purchased my 2007 750i bmw in 11/2013. Shortly after i purchased it,i started having brake booster issues. The brake pad becomes hard topress and i have actually rolled in the middle of intersectionsbecause the car would not stop.i took my car in to bmw of dallas andwas told that my brake booster was contaminated but my vehicles brakebooster was "checked out" (not repaired) in 2011 and didn't have aproblem "then" so bmw is not going to repair the recall now. I wastold if i wanted the brake booster repaired i would have to pay for itand bmw is not responsible because in 2011 when it was "checked out"it was fine. I feel that bmw knows this is an issue and before i havean accident or kill myself they should honor the recall and ?repair?my vehicles brake booster free of charge. Gm is honoring recalls afterissues caused deaths?..is bmw waiting for deaths to honor theirrecall??? that?s not good, not good at all!
Bmw refuses to accomplish brake recall 10v446000.stated campaign accomplished previously (several years ago) with another owner but very intermittent brake fail issue still remains, extreme hazard. Obviously wasn't preformed properly or issue still exists.
As i was arriving to park my bmw i applied the brakes to put it into park but the brakes failed, in result the car drove threw the building. When the rear wheels reached the curbside/sidewalk, it stopped the car, causing the building to get damage. And i got a ticket for malfunction of brake but it is not my fault for the malfunction of the brakes because i just bought the car 3 months ago from a carmax dealer. And at that time the mileage was 46185. When i was checking online, and there is a lot of complains about the brakes in bmw. In one article it stated quote:"a check valve of the brake vacuum pump may leak a small amount of lubricating oil.? it continued, ?over time this could result in the contamination of the brake booster. If this occurred, the power-assist braking could be affected.? end quote.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 750li. The contact stated was driving approximately 65 mph when the brakes malfunctioned, making it difficult to stop the vehicle. The contact indicated that the vehicle did not stop as normal when the brakes were applied. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 98,000.

Is there anything i can do to get bmw to honor this recall and have them repair it free of charge to me since it is an know issue?
