The vehicles ftm (footwell module) isn't working. During a drive my turning signals didn't want to work. My headlights won't turn off. Windows stay put. Doors don't lock. Vehicle is stationary but can still be operated. Shops around the area notified me that they had a few vehicles have the same problem this year. There was a recall for the same probably the dates for the recalls didn't include my cars manufacturered state
The wiring harness for the headlights tends to rot overtime in these cars which then leads to bare copper wires making contact with each other and ends up causing a short and blowing the bulb. This is a safety hazard, not only for visibility but for fire prevention as well. This is a common issue in a lot of bmw's and it should be addressed. This isn't something that should have to be replaced and it is very challenging to do so. I took a look at this as my headlight bulb blew last week while on the road. Like i had mentioned earlier, this is pretty common and is even occurring in their newer models. The insulation over the wiring just flakes off and the dealerships show no care when the issue is brought up.
The contact owns a 2010 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the blower motor failed to operate. While driving 65 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted, but failed to drive. The vehicle was towed to bmw of silver spring (located at 3211 automobile blvd, silver spring, md 20904, (888) 295-2096) where it was diagnosed that the engine overheated. The contact was also informed that the water pump was leaking, and the radiator was leaking antifreeze and was mixing with the oil, which needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact the vehicle was out of warranty. No further assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

I was driving and just got of the freeway, the car was still on but would not move due to bad water pump this was extremely dangerous if i was on the freeway it would have just stopped in the middle of traffic.$1350 to fix.this car is the biggest piece of junk they are making them very poorly, i 2 years i've replaced about 20 tires on the run flat, water pump, fuel pump (through recall) some battery cable (through recall) one other the turbos, and fuel injectors.
I was driving northbound on a crowded stretch of us101 in a 2010 bmw 335i coupe with less than 3200 miles on it. My car was moving at about 65 mph when suddenly i lost almost all engine power, making acceleration impossible. I had to ease my way off the highway and, after stopping to take stock of the situation, i drove home via side streets. My car continued to suffer from lack of power all the way back and could barely ascend some of the hills.
Problem 1 - engine malfunction indicator at startup.car did not idle correctly and ran rough when driven. When driving, misfires and reduced power.max speed achieved was 35mph.
While driving on the interstate at 70mph, the engine malfunction indicator came on. Power was suddenly reduced to less than 35mph. This warranted an immediate move to the slow lane of traffic and had to go several miles until it was safe to pull off the road to attempt a restart.restart did not help, had to drive the car at 35 mph to nearest dealer for service.
My head lights with adaptive drive caught on fire and burned the wires.
While driving on a city street we smelled burning plastic and pulled over to investigate.upon pulling over we found a small fire was burning in the head/fog light area of the vehicle.both the head and fog lights were illuminated at the time of the incident.the fire quickly spread to the entire front of the vehicle and the vehicle was declared a total loss by state farm.neither state farm nor bmwna were able to determine the source of the fire; however, an internet investigation highlighted two other instances of a very similar situation with 3-series sedans from the same generation as this one.see the following url: http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/bmw/t5mq2ae26sc44clo0of note to anyone who may have encountered a similar situation..bmwna was totally uncooperative informing me that "fire is not covered by warranty" forcing me to claim this total loss under my insurance policy for a two year old car that caught fire while still under warranty.i did not purchase another bmw.

My high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) failed in my 2010 bmw 335i while on an onramp to get onto the highway. When i accelerated i felt a chugging sensation from the car followed by a gong. The gone was alerting me that my car had went into "limp mode" and would not allow me to accelerate any further than i had already. Lucky the traffic behind me moved over once i turned on my hazard lights and i was able to quickly exit onto the near by feeder and into a park lot to await assistance. I was lucky in that there was light traffic because if there had been heavy traffic there could have been a good chance for injury or even possibly death for me and other motorist. Failure of the hpfp happens randomly, there are really no conditions on when it can fail, ie: miles driven or driving situation. There are a few symptoms, but those vary from car to car. My car had no previous indications of failing prior. However once failed i experienced long, harsh cranks, followed by an erratic idle, and eventual "limp mode" occurring shortly after. The long cranking and harsh idle are usual symptoms of a failing/failed hpfp. Videos and pictures i documented show this in my car. My issue was temporary "patched" with a new hpfp replacement. Recently i have started having long cranks which the dealer tried to remedy by replacing a low pressure fuel pump sensor, but to no avail. I also have paperwork documenting that visit and the visit that replaced the hpfp back in december. Bmw has had this issue ever since introducing the n54 engine in various models in 2006 or so and has yet to have resolved the issue.
I own a jan. 2010 bmw 335i with 5,800 miles on it.while driving on a freeway, the warning system cam on and read that the engine was at reduced power but i could continue driving at a reduced speed.as i was reading the notice, the engine died and i had to glide over 5 lanes with no power to reach the side of the freeway. When the car was towed to a dealership and the problem explained, someone in the service department suspected it was the high injection fuel pump because they've had to replace others.that was the problem.so why isn't there a recall out on this?i was traveling 65 mph and could have been killed trying to get to the side of the freeway.
On tuesday february 2nd 2010 my brand new (only 3859 miles on it) bmw 335i coupe started experiencing difficulty starting up (then engine would just turn and turn). Upon starting up, the engine idled very roughly, as if only firing on partial cylinders. No engine warning lights were observed at this time. Eventually the engine seemed to start running smoothly. During driving of the car later on the "engine malfunction - reduced power" light appeared. When traveling at a low rate of speed (aprox. 20mph) the engine shut off and i was forced to coast to the side of the road. This problem repeated itself several times until i was forced to call tow service to pick the car up and take it to the dealer for repair. Surveying the online community of bmw owners this appears to be a systemic problem with this make and model of car and so i am documenting this occurrence with me here in the hopes that bmw can be made to publicly recognize the problem and fix it for all concerned.
Failure of bmw high-pressure fuel pump and known issue for a long time now. Car operates at reduced power and part must be replaced and problem is likely to return.
The fuel injector for my 2010 bmw 335i died after driving the car for 14 days.the vehicle will still drive, but if you try to accelerate, it shakes very badly.after having it replaced, one of the injectors went bad again- 7 days later.this is an issue, as i am driving cross country.
The contact owns a 2010 bmw 335i. The contact stated that while driving at speeds between 5 and 25 mph, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and jerked when the accelerator pedal was applied. The vehicle was taken into an authorized dealer and they stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact noticed that the vehicle was still experiencing the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired correctly. The failure mileage unknown and the current mileage was 13,000.

The contact owns a 2010 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to accelerate from stops. The contact also stated that the vehicle experienced a failure in which power would not be transmitted to the rear wheels. The engine continued to run, but the rear wheels would not receive power from the transmission. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but received no assistance. The dealer did not believe that the contact had encountered the failures as described.the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure and stated that it was impossible for their diagnostic system to not detect the failures. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The manufacturer also stated that they were closing their case and would no longer communicate with the contact about the situation. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
My rear left brake caliper started shooting out brake fluid from within the middle. I have an ate caliper. This covers models from about 2006-2014. On bimmerfest.com, e90post.com, etc . . . Many people have had this problem. On rockauto, autozone, etc . . . The premium recommended replacement is to get a caliper for the rear that has no phenolic piston, yet, instead has a solid metal piston. Unto the worst, at times, the phenolic piston has ejected from the caliper and jammed the brake pads to the very rotors. Ate calipers are often used as single or dual pin booted calipers on benz. They always have metal pistons. I have premium brakes. My rotors are unharmed, my brake pads are unharmed. There is not a scratch in my rotor. My wheel bearing is gone. My suspension is gone.my sub frame is gone. It flattened my tire. It made me slide coming out of a turn at 15-18mph. My speedometer began wavering up and down, i got a traction control light for the disc. It slid into the side of a curb. The curb has not a mark on it. My car has only paint damage to lower driver side skirt. And small scratch on the front left quarter panel. While we are at it, why is there no regulation that a huge h8 or t8 sized battery not be placed under the rear passenger seat where the child seat goes? your child is sitting on a huge pile of sulfuric acid. They are sealed, but they cook and smell like rotten eggs often. Another bad design. They did that for years. It needs to go in the trunk or somewhere else. That's terrible! it has high pressure external dfi, and a centered fuel tank. The years of the dodge and lambo lp trial and erros all combined. It's really bad. I have me calling the police to file a report. They denied showing to the scene. I have the calls recorded. I filed an accident report with the tn dept of homeland security; and i have a certified mail receipt. No one else involved. 12:31*dt

The contact was an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the systems failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The rubber seal around the frond windshield cracks and falls/flies off. I have had this happen on 2 different (2006, and 2010 with only 17000 miles) bmw 3 series. I have spoken to bmw and was told this is not a warranty item. Please look into this. It could a defective part that could cause great risk. Thanks

My brand new car's window shield wiper stop working when i was driving on the highway with my son in a heavy raining day. Luckily it is close to home and there is no accident. My car is a brand new and only drove around 500 miles. Eventually, the dealer took about 4 days to fix the controller and wiper motor.
