Takata recall:bmw has failed to replace defective driver's side airbag. It has been almost 1 year since we received the recall notice.this is our primary car and it is dangerous for us to be driving it.
So i got a paper saying i had a recall on my air bags so i called and got my car takin to bmw in bellevue. Bmw's road side assistants gave the wrong address to the tow company and would not answerthe phone tow for them> i even attempted to call and was placed on hold for approximatyely 40 minutes to fix this problem. Finally i spoke with the tow companys dispatcher who was so frustrated he started accusing me of playing games and threatened to have my vehicle dropped at the wrong dealership then extorted me for another 80 dollars just to drop my car off his truck and leave it at my house. Hours later after finally getting a hod of roadside assistance the exact same company returned and delivered my vehicle to the right location. After all of this we are being jerked around by bellevue bmwon the recalls they asked me for 3 hours of labor and promised us to get the vehicle started after approximately a week they said my dme is bad an it would cost 8000.00 to fix it and said it wasn't worth fixing because it was oldnever mentioned anything about a recall until i finally brought it up the last time i spoke with bmw in bellevue which was monday the15th of march 2021. I was told the wire harness was repaired not replaced and the airbag recall was replaced. Then said my bill was over 600.00> after doing my research thru thenhtsa website i found out my recalls were not fixed and i took photos with the dates and time showing my recalls were not fixed which i feel upset and very worried and concerned for my safety now i am not sure where to go from hear because my family and i are being placed into a hardship and to make it worse we are in the middle of a pandemic please help us. I don't know if anything was done to the car i think we need to talk to an attorney

Takata recallthe minnetonka, minnesota bmw dealership informed me on april 4 2016 that due to the recall on takata's psdi-5 driver side airbag inflators impacting my vehicle, there was a 'sales hold' on my vehicle. This means that the bmw dealership will not or cannot sell the vehicle to another consumer until the defect is remedied. The dealership also informed me that the approximate expected time for parts to be available to remedy the defect would be 12 months. When i contacted bmw corporate on april 6 2016, they confirmed that the parts would not be available for around 12 months. Furthermore, bmw corporate is not offering impacted vehicle owners compensation for the drastic reduction in vehicle value related to the sales hold and the extended time to remedy the defect. The excessive remedy time for this defect is unacceptable in the absence of compensation for the severe deterioration in vehicle value as i intend to sell my vehicle in the next 12 months.
Recall notice was received in march 2016.six months later and the part is not available to fix the driver's front air bag.
There are several light bulbs on the dashboard, such as the brakes on the belts and the airbags i need to know if any of this has a recall thanks

Takata recall
When driving with a passenger, the vehicle will recognize that there is an error in the passenger restraint system. The passenger airbag and seatbelt light will illuminate. This causes a potential threat to safety. This issue is recognize in another complaint, but not extended to newer models. The vehicle with this issue is a 2007 bmw 335i with sport and premium packages, build date in march 2007.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While parked the contact noticed the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The technician stated the air bag sensor in the front passenger seat needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced. In addition, the brake light illuminated on the instrument panel. The technician stated the computer would have to be reprogrammed. The failure continued after the computer was reprogrammed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time for diagnostics but the technicians were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
I was driving down the road at 35 mph after getting off work at 7:00pm. Upon less than half a mile from my employment another vehicle drifted in to my lane causing a head on collision. Upon impact my 2007 bmw 335i was immediately pushed back in to my knees and the only airbag to deploy was the front driver airbag. The seatbelt that i was wearing also did not lock and i sustained injuries to my head from hitting it against the windshield. Upon the vehicles coming to rest the driver side door was unable to be opened but the airbag located on the driver seat never even deployed. My passenger seat was shattered from the crash and broke in to several pieces, but the passenger airbag did not deploy. After speaking with law enforcement and researching recalls on the 2007 bmw 335i. There were several recalls for the passenger side airbag and i have never received any notification from bmw on any recalls concerning the airbags. Fortunately i did not have my wife or kids in the car with me, as this possibly would have resulted in the loss of life. I truly believe this needs to be investigated and that a penalty or class action suit of some sort should be filed against bmw of north america for their lack of safety concerns towards consumers.

Seat occupancy sensor on passenger seat has failed.shows as "airbag light" on dash.bmw already recalled some vehicles for this, and gave a 15-year extended warranty for cars including my model and model year, but refuse to honor the warranty for my particular vehicle because it has sports seats instead of standard seats.lookup on bmw parts numbers show that the seat occupancy sensor has the same part number on sports and non-sports seats.no remedy from bmw, including contact to bmw usa (have record of emails, including an offer for a phone call i never received).
Dealer only replaced driver's side airbag, stating passenger airbag replacements not yet available.then took my vehicle off the recall list, so now they claim that the vehicle is no longer under recall.i have two bmw's that have this recall and the passenger airbag replacements are outstanding with no prospect of replacement, leaving passengers at risk of injury or death.

Bmw dealer replaced driver airbags, but no passenger airbags, stating parts were not yet available and vehicle would remain on the active recall list until passenger airbags were replaced; then theytook the vehicle off the recall list.now dealer states since the vehicle is no longer on recall list, the passenger airbag replacement is no longer required. Takata recall....still awaiting update/notice/repair/anything from bmw north america since i was initially notified in march 2016. It is now august 2017! i have a car that i am insuring, sitting unused in my driveway because it is a safety hazard. I can't sell it, or trade it in due to decreased value of airbag light on, and lack of repair. It is coming up for state inspection soon, and won't pass because airbag light is on. This is a very frustrating, unfair and worse, potentially dangerous or fatal situation. I find it inexcusable that it has been almost a year and a half since first notification, and a remedy has still not been made. Bmw needs to be held accountable to make necessary repairs in a more timely and reasonable manner. It is just unacceptable that this is taking so long. If repairs cannot be made, bmw should buy the vehicle back and compensate the owners for loss of use plus fair market value.

Arrived destination, exited car, locked doors via key fob.returned four hours later, unable to unlock doors. Lights went on, so i knew key fob was working.had to use valet key to open driver's door, no locks on other doors.once in car tried to use door open button on dash, would not work, tried to unlock door from inside, could not unlock any of the doors.my wife had to crawl through open window on passenger side, and my two guests had to go through windows to sit in back seat.once reaching our next destination attempted to used the door release again, nothing, then tried the door handles (front and back) would not work, back seat passengers had to exit through windows, and once we reached home my wife had to slide over console go out the drivers door, the only door that could be opened from the inside.fyi both my wife and i are senior citizens, and not very happy with this current event.as a result all passengers were trapped inside car as all door locks, except drivers fail and no way to open car, this could have result into a serious problem if we were in an accident of fire with 3 of the 4 doors not being able to open from the inside.brought to bmw dealer next day, they wanted between $800 and $1,000. To repair door lock actuators, unable to pay this now, car is sitting home in garage.bmw never offered to pay this under the current conditions of so many complaints, this should be a recall.it is a safety hazard.

Steering wheel lock sensor activated.
I was driving to work and the steering lock malfunction lite up out of nowhere. The car can not move. This is an electrical problem that's dangerous and expensive to fix. Very common problem expressed by many owners with the same model and year as my car. They should've conducted a recall on this!!

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the instrument panel was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Serpentine drive belt broke during highway driving, power steering immediately lost. Belt replaced; after 2000 miles belt was found to be frayed and severely worn.belt was replaced a second time.belt then broke a third time after 8000 while driving, same conditions and symptoms.diagnosed as damage to the drive belt and power steering pulley due to insufficient clearance with the front subframe.bmw has had a tsb for the issue since 2008 (si b11 09 08) for all e90 series with n54 engines (135i, 335i) up to 04/08 production; recommended repair for vehicles that had subframe contact with the pulley is to replace front subframe with updated part -- no warranty extension or recall at present for affected vehicles, covered under new warranty only.owner eventually replaced subframe with updated one out of pocket.
When parked listening to music, my brother plugged in the usb adapter and it electrocuted him ever since he's scared to be in the vehicle. Well right after the incident the cigar igniters to plug in the adapters wouldn't work anymore. I had just got this car from a dealeras a trade in 3 months ago and i noticed really strong smells of gas from the back seat and my siblings sit back there and that really concerns me. Along with the smell of gas,my coolant reservoir starting spilling out brownish fluid like if a gasket was blown and oil got into the coolant ! i am very irritated i'm being charged thousands that i don't have and only have had the car for a few months. My warranty would not fix any damages, and dealership is not helping me out. I need to go to work and school and i have no transportation at the moment.
Earlier this year in february i have replaced the alternator and some other major part right after purchasing from dealership and i have seen all the other recent recalls for the vehicle also it appears to have recalls that have not been worked on by manufacture . There also were no signs that came on also the wheel tightened up and stopped on me out of no where while driving. This being the second time this has happened as on new years i was on the freeway on my way home and the car did the same when i first replaced the alternator
I was unable to unlock the driver's side door.i had to slide over to the passenger side door.there is a bmw sib#: 51-19-07. I cannot believe there has not been a recall given the fact of the possibility of the driver or a passenger being trapped inside the car.i have saved both door locks that malfunctioned.
On 20 feb 2013, we were driving on a highway in san francisco. Traffic in front of us slowed to a stop and we also stopped.we were then struck hard from behind by another car that hit the right-rear part of our bumper.immediately after the impact, all interior and exterior lights in our car flickered and became very dim. We discovered later that the impact had damaged the car's battery, evidenced by electrolyte leaking out of the underneath, rear of the car.after the collision, traffic began moving again and the other driver moved his car off the roadway, leaving us sitting in the middle of a busy, 5-lane freeway after dark with no lights of any kind in or on our car. The emergency flasher flickered dimly, but was not working. All the head and tail lights were dark. Police eventually arrived and pushed our car to the shoulder.i waited inside our car while the driver spoke with the police. As i waited, the door locks suddenly latched and the alarm started. It was impossible to unlock the car from the inside. The door handles were completely non-functional. The windows would not open. I was trapped inside the car. People outside the car were unable to help me escape. A tow-truck driver asked me to release the hood latch. He attached a battery pack to some terminals in the engine compartment and when the interior lights came on, i was able to unlock the door and leave the car. Then he disconnected the battery pack and the car went dark. If there had been a fire or an injury, this would have been a very serious situation. As an engineer i see two, no-cost solutions to this problem. (1) surround the battery with a strong barrier and move it farther away from the rear of the car.(2) include a mechanical link to the door latches so that the doors can be opened from the interior of the car when the battery is disconnected.
Driving normally, about to make a turn onto a street my power steering fails and i get a light on the dashboard about battery charging malfunction. Upon further investigation it turns out my accessory belt that drives the ac compressor, power steering pump and alternator was completely shredded and not on the pulleys. I have damage to multiple pulleys in my car. My power steering pulley is missing big chunks because of impact with the sub-frame. This is a known service bulletin ( sib 11 09 08 ) the power steering pulley impacts the sub-frame because of motor movement when hitting bumps etc.. This caused my belt to be ripped into shreds and break off big chunks of my power steering pulley.
Turned on blower motor, car smoked and burnt up before fire truck arrived
Water pump failed while driving and car would not exceed 5mph. Postings online show this is a common issue (possible recall issue like the fuel pump). Car was towed to the dealer and water pump was replaced for $1033.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v676000 (electrical system); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received over a year ago. The dealer (tom bush bmw orange park, 6914 blanding blvd, jacksonville, fl 32244) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
First occurrence drivers side door will not open, door handle does not disengage lock mechanism to allow egress.unlocking vehicile renders nothing as the door lock is interment and will not allow door to unlock either inside or outside of vehicle.second occurrence roughly one year later, front passenger and drivers side rear door will not unlock displaying same chacteristics as first occurrence with drivers side door.
I drove to the gas station left car alone for no more than 5 minutes. And when i come back i try to start the car and tries to start but doesn't have the power too, then i get a jump start and drive home and the next day same things happen. Battery was changed outby shop just about a week ago.
Door locks failed using key fob or button on dash.followed service bulletin to replace fuse, but problem keeps reappearing.passenger door inoperative even after fuse replaced and other doors working.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 17v676000 (electrical system). The dealer (bmw northwest, 4011 20th st e, tacoma, wa 98424, 1-253-922-8700) was contacted and stated parts were not available. The manufacturer was contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
The automatic door locks on my car have quick working and the only way to enter or exit the car is through the driver door using the manual key fob.passenger doors are inoperable from both interior and exterior.this presents a serious safety concern in the event of an accident or fire.
Key fob will not unlock doors.valet key gets you into the drivers door, but the other doors will not unlock by any means, either by pulling the handle or by operating the interior unlock switch.in an accident that might disable the door unlock function, 3 of the 4 could not be opened for exit purposes.
Upon car system notification that a headlight malfunction was noted i open the headlight access door on the dynamic projection headlamp to inspect and replace the bulb. At this time i noticed large amounts exposed wiring going from the connector to the main harness. As i continued to inspect the wiring the insulating material around the wires continued to crumble exposing more wiring. This is true for both left and right headlights, both headlamps have sealed access doors and is concerning for.electrical short or fire hazards in/near the high heat generated from.the lamps and or engine compartment.
2007 bmw 335i.consumer writes in regards to actuator failure which caused the circuit breaker to permanently lock vehicle doors.the consumer stated after he arrived at his destination, he attempted to open the door, but it failed to open. Then, he attempted to use the door handle to exit from the vehicle, but that failed to open the door as well. After applying all practical options to exit the vehicle, such as using the manual door release, internal and external door handle, and using the central locking mechanism, all the doors failed to open. He had to roll down the window and climb out of the vehicle.
I went to start my car and there was a red warning light that is a steering wheel with a padlock. I am not able to start my car or do anything with it for that matter, so i am stuck. Thank goodness i was home and parked in the driveway or worse, driving and it lock on me! so now i am stuck without a car and hard telling what its going to cost me! ive been reading that a lot of other people are having or have had the same issue.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he noticed that only the front driver side door would open from the interior or exterior. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were in the process of diagnosing the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 32,000. Updated 11/29/11 the consumer stated the driver's side door actuator failed, causing all the other doors to remain locked and inoperable. Updated 12/07/11
I was turning on to a highway, as i accelerated to match the speed of oncoming traffic and merge, the engine power abruptly degraded. I had to swerve out of the lane to avoid an accident. The vehicle had a flashing service engine light and was not producing any power.i had the vehicle towed to park ave. Bmw in nj. The dealer diagnosed my vehicle with a failed dme (engine management computer or ecu) at less than 60k. After doing some research i found many others bmw n54 engine owners online who had encountered the same dme failure. It turns out an electrical component that costs a coupleof cents was prematurely failing. This was known to bmw in 2007 when the vehicle was being sold. The bmw service builtinsi b 12 18 07 clearly indicates that this is an unexpected failure and is caused by a defective diode. Furthermore the issue can damage coils and fuel injectors costing thousands of dollars. Replacing coils, injectors, and the dme can exceed $5000. Further more bmw chose no to be proactive and replace the component, instead they put peoples lives at risk, at best their benefiting from their own lack of quality.

Left headlight control module unit for xenon bulb stopped working on 2007 bmw 335i which caused the low beam xenon headlight bulb to go out at night. Many other bmw owners are reporting the same problem on the same side (left). Type in bmw 335i headlight control module and someone posting that their left side went out, is the first hit on google and many other posts i have seen also state the left side control module failed and their left headlight went out. It is a safety issue and a consumer protection issue as the cost to replace is $1100+.
The contact leased a 2007 bmw 335i.the contact stated that the doors would not open from the passenger compartment nor the exterior of the vehicle.he was finally able to open the driver's side door manually with the physical key.none of the other doors on the vehicle would unlock or open, including the gas tank cover that was powered by a keyless lock sensor.the dealer stated that a fuse blew and caused all the locks to fail on the vehicle.the failure and current mileages were less than 18,000.updated 10/14/08.*ljupdated 10/16/08.
The contact leased a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, there was a sudden loss of electrical power without warning. The contact mentioned that the positive battery cable was discolored indicating that it was overheating. As a result, there was a connection failure. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic where the failure was unable to be replicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v044000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 80,000.
All doors except driver door are locked and cannot be open by passenger from inside using door handle; cannot be opened using the door lock switch on the dash board; cannot be opened using the key fob; cannot be opened from the outside door handle. Therefore all passengers have to exit through the driver door.once being locked from the outside, the drive has to use the backup key in the key fob to unlock the door.this is a serious safety issue regarding exiting the car in emergency situation.
My car keys cannot unlock all the doors.i had to remove the key from the remote and use the key to manually open the driver side door.the front passenger door and both doors at the rear passenger seats cannot be opened.there is no way the doors can be opened from the inside once it is locked.this is a serious safety issue especially in the event of an emergency from a car fire, people in the car (passenger side cannot unlock the door to get out and the doors cannot be opened from the outside.i see this a potential liability and i am surprised why no authorities have stepped up and initiate an investigation.does that mean when only there is a fatal incident that people will start investigation?i brought my car to the dealership and their appointment time is fully booked till next week. They don't seem to even think this could result in potentially dangerous and safety issue.if this website is dedicated to what is profess to do, then i hope to see action.this has been a known problem with bmw but i am sure other makes also have this safety concern.

The mechanism to unlock the door on the driver's side of my bmw 335i failed, making it impossible to open the door.previously, the passenger's side door lock failed and was reported to nhtsa (odi #: 10378269).bmw agreed to replace the passenger's side door lock (the car was out of warranty), but at the time did not replace the driver's side door lock which has now failed too.being trapped in the car due to a failed door lock mechanism is an inconvenience at best and a major hazard at worst.

While sitting still at the first incident the car stalled for no reason.over the next two weeks the car started to run very rough and the service engine light would come on.you could turn it off and restart and it would be fine for a little while, now my engine light stays on all the time and my #3 injector needs replaced.bmw did recall the injectors for the 2008 models, but not my 2007, the cost is my responsibility and many other 2007 owners have had the same problem.ido.have a bmw extended warranty for my fuel pressure regulator, not a recall, but they go bad several times a year.a recall should be extended for the 2007 injectors.

2007 bmw e92 335i - just took off from my home (car was not turned on since the day before atleast not after 8pm) 10 minutes into the road i turned on my a/c blower on max. On about 2 or 3 minutes, suddenly it slowed down and stopped working followed by plastic burning smell. As i tried to pull over as soon as possible, smoke started coming out the dashboard and just like that the car caught fire on the glove compartment and so on... I stranger from an tire shop ran up and used an extinguisher to stop the fire. Sadly there was severe damage to glove compartment, dashboard, electrical components like fuse box, passenger door, front and top interior.plus some money i had stored in the (was my way to the bank to make a deposit and pickup my fiancee) im still waiting for my insurance decision. Im very worried since i've search around in forums and i've read about some other people having same problems and other electrical fires with no response/resolution from bmw. I've owned a mini cooper and 2 bmws. My cousins, aunt, granpa (e30) have bmws. Any suggestions?
Component: locking systemdriver-side door lock failed to unlock when using the remote on the key.replaced blown fuse. A day later same problem surfaced, only this time all 4 doors are not unlocking (first push of the button on the remote should unlock driver door only; second push of button unlocks the other 3 passenger doors.replaced two blown fuses (#56 and #57).problem is resolved, but only for a day or two.long-term fix is to replace door lock actuators on all four doors according to bmw's own service bulletin.the safety issue is that the doors are supposed to open manually from the inside when the electrical system is unable to unlock them.in my case, i was only able to manually open the driver-side door by pulling the handle once to unlock, and a second time to open.this procedure did not work on any other door.i have purchased an emergency hammer to break the window from the inside in case this happens after an accident.additional info: the gas door also fails to open as a result of this issue.one has to release the gas door manually from inside the trunk.
The key fob did not unlock the car doors nor did the central control button inside the car unlock the doors.only the drivers side door could open from inside the car.no other door could be opened from the inside with this malfunction.found out a fuse went bad creating the problem.

I purchased a new 2007 bmw 335i from bmw of honolulu in jan 2007.4 months later the car stalled with my wife and son in the middle of traffic.car was towed in to bmw and remained there for over a month.bmw could not give me a status as to what was going on, nor did they try to contact me.eventually, i was told it was the fuel pump, which i would think would be a recall item.they knew of the problem but did not inform their customers until cars were towed in to the dealership.my car is in the shop now for some other issue.it has been towed in 3 times and driven in for other repairs 7 other times in 2 years.this has cost me to miss work and most of all an inconvenience to my family.usually there is no loaner available, so you have to wait for a shuttle which drives all over the island dropping off everyone else who is there having their 335i worked on.i have complained with bmw of north america and they finally agreed to pay a months car payment and insurance.i have recently submitted another online complaint which i have received no response.spoke with bmw of honolulu management and they are supposedly in the process of buying back the car and trying to put me in another 335i.don't know if i want to do that.what kills me is their reluctance to keep me informed of anything.they tell me, i will get this information to you on a certain day and i don't hear from them for days at a time.the online blogs are amazing.their comments sound exactly like mine.i just retired from the u.s. Navy and i work with jags at a joint headquarters command in hawaii and they have directed me to seek advice from a civilian attorney.i would really like to sue bmw for all they have put me and my family through.being that they knew of this issue and have not informed the customers i am surprised that no one has been killed yet.i think this is a safety issue and should be looked into.
Hello two months ago my bmw 2007 335i problems started with firing brake lights on the dash abs traction control and stability lost on the road safety problem and dangerous on the road because the vehicle do not stop properly and loose all control putting my life and my family at risk, this problem started with only 53205 miles ,estimate it much any help i cant provide about this safety issue thanks
Have not heard back from dealer for air bag recall. Car is also producing smoke in engine bay and strong smell of burning through vents is present.receive notice of recall for blower motor wiring but the car is definitely well in need of recall service as smoke is very visible and burnin order is very apparent in engine bay and through vents.

My car might have turbo charger issue that was settle under class action in 2010 . I'm being charged for repairs that will able bmw to make diagnosis for that problem at first for vacuum turbo lines almost for 1000 dollars and today for some other issue another 500. I'm being pressured by bmw to fix it or quit. The extended warranty is only till 82 thousand miles. So either i pay or end up not knowing if my car has this issue. When i was driving and trying to speed to pass another vehicle my engine light came on saying that engine is not working in full capacity and to slow down or stop... Pls help me to resolve that issue. Thank you. I called bmw or northern america and spoke with sky andwas told that it is what it is and i have to pay since the mechanics know better what needs to be done. When i asked for somebody that is in direct relations with bmw of germany i was told that he is the top of the line person and entity in his self.i feel that anything related to this issue should be cover by bmw not me.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the lost motive power, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the residence where it was diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. Bmw of pleasant grove located at (2111 w grove pkwy, pleasant grove, ut 84062) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I picked up my car from the dealer after replacement of the electric water pump.i drove home and parked the vehicle.4 hours later my neighbor alerted me to an engine compartment fire that completely destroyed the vehicle.
The car has had numerous issues since purchased. This all came to a head when driving home, under normal conditions, it suddenly would not shift past 1st gear. I proceeded to pull off to a side street and attempt to idle home, as i was about 1 mile from home. After approximately .5 mile, the transmission suddenly lost first gear, there was an audible bang under the hood, and the car completely lost power. After being in a service center for a couple weeks, i am now informed that the engine is locked down and that the car will require a new engine to be working again. This car had been an absolute nightmare and has turned me quite calloused towards bmws quality standards.
The contact owned a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked he was notified by the police department that the vehicle was on fire. The fire department was contacted and extinguished the flames. A police and fire department report was filed. The insurance was contacted and towed the vehicle to a tow lot for investigation. The contact was unaware of the vehicle was deemed a total loss. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no further assistance was taken. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
While driving at highway speeds for 15-20 minutes, the yellow engine overheating warning light came on and quickly turned to red, within 5 seconds. The car lost the ability to accelerate and my speed quickly began to slow. There was no response from the car when depressing the accelerator. I hadto cross 3 lanes of traffic with no acceleration which nearly caused several accidents. My car was rolling to a stop on he highway. I turned the car off for several minutes and everything seemed to be fine. However, this has now happened multiple times. Each time while driving on the highway for 15-20 minutes.
Car went into limp mode due to excessive engine temperature detected.cause of engine overheating was a faulty electric water pump.dealer replaced the water pump and thermostat.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking excessive amounts of oil. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the aluminum bolts that connected the oil pan were cracked. The dealer stated that the constant vibrations from the engine could have caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileages were 97,000.....updated 06/18/12

There is a serious defect with the engine and fuel pump. It takes a long time to accelerate when driving especially on the highway, the car will shake, jolt and the engine will start to make a weird noise. There is oil leaking constantly and the check engine light is constantly coming on even after just being repaired. The car goes into limp mode and has shut down on me numerous times while driving. I've had the fuel pump replaced numerous times and yet it needs to be replaced against. The car will overheat at times and and just shut down. I was driving on a busy city street when the car just shut down, i couldn't steer or brakeit just died in the middle ofa busy street. It was extremely unsafe and put my life in danger as well as the other drivers on the road, especially since they were driving at fast speeds.
While accelerating on a highway, the car lost power and started to shake.i had to pull off on the shoulder while decelerating while cars around me were honking and driving around to pass me.i was lucky not to have been in a collision.the "engine malfunction" light and "service engine soon" light turned on.after coming to a stop on the side of the road, i turned off the car for a few minutes and restarted it - it drove fine but the "service engine soon" light stayed on.it has happened many times since.
Service engine light has illuminated on 3 occasions causing me to fail smog inspection the first time it happened.
The thermostat was failing to cool the vehicle under extreme heat conditions (over 100 degree days), took vehicle in to check the thermostat, but it was only a 90 degree day when they looked at the car, and were "unable to reproduce problem", so they returned the vehicle.about 6 months later, i took vehicle in to check the thermostat when the vehicle was unable to warm up under extreme cold conditions (under 30 degree mornings).again, "unable to reproduce problem" because when the mechanics got to work in the morning, the temperatures were over 40 degrees.other than extreme conditions, the thermostat seemed to work fine.but the following year, on a cold morning, not only did the vehicle fail to warm up, but the "check engine" light came on.by the time i was able to make an appointment and bring the car in, the light had gone out, and again, the service dept. Was unable to determine what made the "check engine" light come on.they said it must be an "intermittent problem".yes, it was!!and the light came on another time, but i was out of town, so that by the time i got back, again it had gone out.the problem finally got bad enough for the light to come on again, and this time i drove the vehicle directly to the dealership w/o turning it off, so they could determine the problem.they finally confirmed there was indeed a problem with the thermostat, like i had told them all along, and they replaced the thermostat.when i got home and checked the internet, i found many complaints about this same problem with my engine in this model bmw.and bmw has not made a recall torepair the item.this is a known and frequently recurring problem that bmw should be made to pay for &/or reimburse customers for expenses they incurred in fixing the problem, just like the fuel pump and battery problems for this same model vehicle that were fixed under recalls!!
High pressure fuel pump - critical failurewhile driving in heavy traffic on the highway, the engine died without warning while in motion. Brakes and steering became incredibly heavy (presumably without power) as i pulled over with very little time to react. Car would not restart, just repeatedly turn over without trying to start. Pulled codes to discover that the high pressure fuel pump just failed completely - p142e $0018pd. Stalling in motion without any warning signs was scary.turbo wastegates - cautionturbos rattle severely while driving and performance is reduced. Extra time and space is needed when merging and overtaking. No engine codes.
I drove to the gas station left car alone for no more than 5 minutes. And when i come back i try to start the car and tries to start but doesn't have the power too, then i get a jump start and drive home and the next day same things happen. Battery was changed outby shop just about a week ago.
High pressure fuel pump failed on freeway causing immediate loss of 70% of power.dealership is also saying that fuel injectors are faulty.after looking through different internet websites it seems to be a common problem in early 335i models.almost crashed because of it.
I was driving home on the freeway when all of a sudden car immediately lost power, engine over heating illuminated on my message board. Had to cross two lanes of traffic while speed was decreasing, i thankfully made it to the shoulder. Car would not accelerate past 2mph. Called tow truck and sent to bmw. Car read 62,000 miles, bmw replaced waterpump ($1,600). Vanos sprockets that prematurely fail are a known issue at the bmw service center here in tx mine failed at 63,000 miles ($1900). Passenger mat sensor seat sensor failed at 63,000 miles ($800). A well known issue at the bmw dealership bit they do nothing about it... Now my turbo chargers have failed due to waste gate but thankfully bmw extended the warranty to 82,000 miles. This is the worst bmw i have ever purchased never have i had so many problems with the 335i. Advice stay away from the n54 turbo charged bmws. Buy an audi.
My vehicle displayed a yellow warning that the engine temperature was high, and that the car needed to be driven at moderate speeds because the engine was close to overheating. I decreased my speed from 30mph to 20 mph, and about 30 seconds after driving the car at 25mph a red warning light came on that said my engine was too hot, and the car stalled on me. I received no prior warning regarding an overheating issue. Luckily i was not on a highway and was able to pull to the side of the road. I got my vehicle towed and i was told by the shop that the water pump failed, and that i needed a new thermostat.
I have owned this 2007 335i for 2 1/2 years.i am a 59 year old female that drives very conservatively.in the 2 1/2 years that i have owned this vehicle, the fuel pump has been replaced twice.four months ago the injectors had to be replaced and this past friday the electronic water pump and electronic thermostat had to be replaced.not typical of any bmw i have owned in the past 12-15 years.i contacted our local bmw dealership and they knew of no problems with this particular model.i contacted bmw today regarding this model and they took the information for review which to me means file 13.bmw knows there is a problem with the water pumps and the thermostats on this particular model and they choose to do nothing about it.they also know there is a problem with the injectors and they choose to do nothing.i was told that the nhtsa makes the determination on all recalls not the individual car makers.
While i was driving in a highway traffic, without any warning the car started vibrating severely, smoke coming out of the tail pipe, engine almost dying and i was forced to take the shoulder lane away from traffic. I tried to restart the engine but only white smoke with fuel smell coming out of tail pipe, but i was still able to drive the car slowly to home. Took to mechanic and eventually was told that engine is completely shot - 3 or 4 cylinders were cracked, combustion failure, etc. Mechanic can't fix it without replacing the entire engine which he estimated at least $7,000.00.geico won't cover since they considered my car issue strictly a "mechanical failure". Bmw concord is unresponsive to my request. I'm on my own here and now i'm paying for the rental car for about 3 weeks now which geico doesn't fully or even partially cover due to the mechanical failure state of my car.i'm the original owner of the car and my usage is less than average. Driving it primarily to work (antioch,ca - concord, ca) and back home which is only approx 40 miles round trip. My driving habits are very good, car was never abused. I took good care of the car, had it serviced and maintained regular basis. I've been working from home permanently for over a year now so my mileage usage is very low and geico knows about it as i provided proof of low mileage usage. I just don't understand why my bmw - a performance car and the ultimate driving machine - with low mileage, never abused, well maintained - could go this worse.now the car sits in my garage dead, not fixable, not able to trade it. I'm so frustrated and very upset that this happened at a time when i'm extremely busy at work, and just adds to my stress level that i feel like i'm going to have a heart attack from just dealing with this issue.engine is dead in just 6-1/2 years. Unbelievable!updated 9/25/14the consumer stated bmw fixed the main problem for $ 3,100.00. All six of the fuel injectors were replaced and the contaminated fuel was drained. Updated 11/04/
The wastegate value arms are loose and they rattle. They may come loose and not work. Which could result in the engine not working. It get worse the longer you drive the car. This is well documented on youtube that all 2007 335i's have this problem. I just feel that bmw should make this a recall.
While driving on the hov lane of the freeway during rush hour about 5:15 pm my car suddenly started to rattle when pushing the gas peddle. I took my foot from the gas peddle while still driving with about 60 mph. I tried the gas peddle some seconds later again and experienced still rattling and no acceleration of the car. I took my foot again from the gas peddle. In the meantime i was down to 40mph. About 20-30 sec later from the first rattle the engine light came on and 1 sec later the engine stalled on the highway. At that time when the engine stalled i was still driving about 35 mph. Luckily the freeway had a left shoulder and i turned over to the left with the last remaining speed and slowly stopped the car. I'm so glad that the left shoulder was available. The freeway was very busy and i assume i would have been involved in an accident, if the left shoulder wouldn't have been available. The loss of power was too sudden and entirely unexpected. The stalled engine created a very dangerous moment while driving on a freeway.the bmw shop came back to me today and explained that the high pressure fuel pump failed. A know issue with the car make, model and year.
2eff4 map thermostat, mechanismcheck engine,in the morning is on and off but is not hot the engine ,the car is running with no problem but the light is on for the emission system
Valve cover oil leaking onto exhaust manifold that causes fire. It was turned off and stationary.asked bmw to change in 80k but they said just sweating oil. Safety hazard ignored. Common amoung bmw 3 series engine
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While accelerating, the vehicle shuttered and the check engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the vehicle idled roughly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors, spark plugs, and ignition coil would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
While trying to pass on a busy highway i was trying to excel speed get pass semi truck. When out of no where my car loss power and almost caused a huge accident. I wasn't prepared for that, or have heard of such a thing. After researching itseams to be a bmw problem with these cars. I literally just got my car back from my local bmw dealer in charlottsville va same day.spent a lot of money on this car and planned on keeping it for at least another 7 yrs or more. Usually if you maintain your car it will last forever, but guess not if the actual dealer doesn't know how to manufacturer one correctly. This was a car i always wanted bmw is known luxury and sport . Just crazy they do not respect the customers more than they do. I just wanted put my complaint in with everyone else's, seeing there's a lot.
2007 bmw 335i (build date 11/06):car displays "engine malfunction" and engine power is substantially reduced without any warning or predictability.turning car off and then restarting resets everything and then the car will run normally until the next episode of "engine malfunction."bmw dealership has checked engine fault codes and believes that this problem is related to premature wear of the "camshaft bearing ledge."i have already had my fuel pump replaced and now the car is behaving exactly the same way but bmw is now claiming another engine fault (camshaft bearing ledge) as the source of the sudden and unexpected engine power loss.i have owned bmws all my life and have never as disappointed with a car as i have with this one.it is my opinion that the engine in this car is so unreliable (unpredictable power loss due to multiple reasons... Not just the fuel pump) that it presents a serious safety hazard for bmw 335i owners as well as other motorists.
Water pump failed while driving and car would not exceed 5mph. Postings online show this is a common issue (possible recall issue like the fuel pump). Car was towed to the dealer and water pump was replaced for $1033.
When i tried to make a sharp u turn on a hillside street, the car suddenly accelerated, and stopped with its belly stuck on the curb and the rear wheels in the air after hitting the guard rail across the street.it was so sudden, and the car jumped about 12 feet instantly, and hit the rail.since the street is sloping down, i never accelerate when i come down the hill.this model has a turbo problem, and the warranty is extended on the turbo part up to 10 years.this car had a several starting problems before, and displayed the "check engine" light.then it is reset by itself.when the dealer was asked, they denied the possibility of any malfunction of the car.this sudden acceleration looks like a deadly failure.if it happens in a busy intersection, it might have resulted in fatal crashes or deaths of pedestrians.
The car stalled and lost power on highway.engine light came on . Rough idling.first incident occurred september 2011.the second incident happened oct 26, 2011.both times the car stalled and lost power on the highway.i believe that this created a very dangerous and life threatening situation for me and others on the highway.
First noticed a burning smell -- thought it may be plastic or rubber.pulled off of the highway near tampa to a local gas station.looked under the hood, noticed nothing.then noticed smoke coming from the space where the rear window rolls up, on the drivers side.smelled like burning rubber or plastic.called bmw assist, was told to get a tow to the nearest dealer.after about an hour, called to bmw to talk with a service technician -- described the problem to the technician and asked if i could drive the car to the dealership.service advisor indicated that given the smoke, would advise against driving the car.car towed to dealership and inspected by dealer the following morning.dealer advised that the "dash reflected message of pinch protection malfunction.jbe module caused failure of both rear window motors, interrogate fault memory.found faults in jbe, a6d9, a6da, a6d8, a6db.completed test plan for these faults.per test plan replace jbe.swapped in jbe from known good vehicle."essentially, the dealer replaced the existing software in the car with the software from a car known to have good software.dealer found both window motors "burned" and replaced both window roll-up motors.dealer completed vehicle programming including "cas".complete car encoding.
Constant failure in my 2007 bmw 335i sedan.random loss of power when driving on the road.lights do not light up the path of driving very well.i have taken my vehicle in at least 6-7 times for these issues and it has not been fixed.this is a known issue with this model.i do not know what else to do.i would hope bmw would recall such a defect.per bmw recommendation i had the engine decarbonized as they said this would make the vehicle run to spec.the fuel pump was recently replaced as it was faulty and a new spark plug put in place.the car now runs rough and the engine is loud.everytime i take it to bmw they say its running fine.i will bring my vehicle in once again tomorrow to have them take a look at it.
Car suddenly looses power and displays "engine malfunction reduced power output." this is scary and upsetting when driving on houston highways with 18 wheelers passing you. You need to safely pull over to the shoulder, restart the car, and the warning goes away, the power comes back and you never know when and where this will happen again. Very unsafe and disturbing.
My bmw lost power on multiple occasions.it was in bmw servicefor 6 weeks discovered a problem with manifold "leaking oil and no power to twin turbo. Factory man could not find the cause. They had to tear down the engine finally after we were losing our patience to finally "find the problem". This was when the car was brand new. Have had multiple trips to bmw service for stalling and loss of power on the road. Have had to reset the"cars' "system again on 2 occasions.bmw did extend the service warranty on the turbo and fuel pump. Tonight had complete power failure on highway. Had to stop and start and go several hundred feet.car limped home into the garage. Im sure my trip to the bmw service station will be an exercise in futility since they tell me the car is fine.there must be some issue with the twin turbo engine.
I was driving my car from florida to new mexico as part of a military change of station.i was on my second day of the trip, from fort worth, tx to portals, nm, when i experienced significant loss of power 5 times in a 200 mile distance (no warning, no warning lights on the dash).twice, the car turned itself off suddenly, disabling the power steering, with no warning at all.once was at high speed on the interstate; the other was in the middle of a small town.thankfully it did not cause an accident either time.this is the first time i have ever experienced this problem and it has happened twice in one day.bmw of north america has been contacted regarding these incidents.it is a 90 minute drive on very desolate roads to the nearest dealership in lubbock, tx, so i have requested that the car be taken to the dealership for service as it is unsafe for me to drive in this condition.i am awaiting a resolution to my problem from bmw of north america.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i.on several occasions, the vehicle would dramatically decelerate and the engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel.the contact also heard a loud clucking noise and the vehicle jerked excessively when attempting to accelerate.on one occasion, while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning.the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure; however, they stated that the fuel management system was causing the failure.the dealer attempted to repair the vehicle five times, but was unsuccessful.the manufacturer did not provide any assistance.the vin and engine size were unknown.the failure mileage was 22,000 and current mileage was 33,995.
I have had my 3rd high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) fail in the 3.5 years that i have owned my car. All three replaced under warranty, but it seems to be a design flaw since this is a recurring problem in my model. Almost everyone people in my car club with a 2007 or 2008 model year 335i has had their hpfp replaced at least once. The car breaks down without warning and generally when comes to a complete stop. Upon failure, the engine warns of malfunctions and continue to drive in a "limp" mode, often stalling when coming to a complete stop...shuddering during the drive until i am able to bring to a dealership.i have been fortunate that all three failure have occurred during low speeds and stalling occurring at stop lights and not during high speed operation. If it wasn't for my bmw roadside assistance, i would have been stranded on one of the three occasions. Bmw knows there is a real problem but refuses to recall. They have issued dealer service bulletins and have increased the warranty on the hpfp replacements for 100,000 miles. However, a 100,000 mile warranty does not fix replacing the hpfp every few months (my 2nd in 4 months). Bmw must issue a recall as this is dangerous and unpredictable, especially since this their is no symptoms for the impending malfunction and there is no user error.
My 2007 bmw 335 sedan was recently updated with a new ecu software update (referred to as progman 29.2) and since then the response has become unpredictable. Particularly the car had no turbo lag earlier and after the update the turbo lag has become very perceptible. This has made highway passing unsafe because the car does not behave consistently and sometimes will hesitate for a few seconds and then surge very quickly and at other times drive normally. The unpredictability and turbo lag makes highway passing quite unsafe especially at highway speeds and given the amount of torque in the car (surges are tough to anticipate). Bmw does not acknowledge the problem and will not even do any tests on the car. They have been sending me in circles between their na office and local dealer.
2007 bmw 335i -high pressure fuel pump failure- car is on its fourth pump(original plus three replacements) in less than three years and 30,000 miles.first failure after 8 months and 7,300 miles. First failure was on highway 66 between arlington and mclean virginia at highway speeds. Has subsequently failed at 25 months and 20,900 miles and again at 35 months and 29,200 miles.
2007 335i coupe - car experiences a sudden loss of power while driving at normal speeds.car omits malfunction warning lights on the dashboard.this car has had this happen now at least 3 times.the previous two times bmw dealer found faulty fuel pumps and replaced.now, bmw dealer claims the car needs new cam shafts in the car, meanwhile engine has been taken out of the vehicle completely to attempt the repair.it seems like bmw does not want to acknowledge that the car has major issues.
Multiple incidents with "engine malfunction. Reduced power" aka limp mode.on my 2007 bmw 335i sedan.bmw replaced fuel pump once, but now seems like the problem is repeating itself.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the vehicle had an abnormal burning odor and noticed black smoke coming from the engine compartment. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, inspected the vehicle, and noticed a belt had melted and detached. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v676000 (electrical system); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Bmw concord (1967 market street, concord, ca) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
My serpentine belt (drive belt) snapped and shattered causing my vehicle to lose power steering capabilities. This belt drives all the accesories( alternator, power steering, ac, etc). This is a known issue by bmw, there is a sib 11 09 08 that states the issue and how to go about checking it by the dealer. The issue is the design flaw in the power steering pully hitting the sub frame and causing damage to the belt and in turn the belt snapping. This can/will cause a fatality one day because of the loss of steering controls. The belt on my vehicle was replaced before on 12/20/12 for the same reason and it has only been 1.5 years and the same problem.
The wiring inside the headlight housing is deteriorating. The plastic sheathing has become brittle from the heat, and is falling apart, exposing the conductor. This is creating the risk of an electrical fire or damage to the electrical system.

I know it is a fairly well known issue as looking into a few forums and you can find for yourself. I have a 2007 335i coupe e92 with a around 104k miles and as i know it is far out of warranty the problem i am having should not be something that should happen. Inside of the headlight housing all of the wires start to wither away and short out against each other causing your headlights not to work. This is all happening inside of a sealed unit that isn't supposed to be serviced almost all of the wires coming from the harness are compleatly bare and withered away and i do not have any moisture leaking issues so that couldn't cause any of the problems that are happening either. I believe it is from faulty wiring used inside of the headlights themselves that cause them to deteriorate more rapidly.
High pressure fuel pump failing on bmw 335i.
Fuel pump failed a second time. My original complaint # is 10227599.exact same symptoms.
Problem with lost engine power in my 2007 model bmw 335i convertible car five times in 2009. One instance involved a fuel line separation on an expressway outside chicago. Each time the vehicle was taken back to bmw dealership for service. Fuel injectors were replaced. Pollution control devices were replaced. But problem was not corrected. Finally, the high pressure fuel injection pump was replaced and the warranty on it was extended to 100,000 miles. The problem appeared to be resolved.
2007 bmw 335i hpfp failed on the highway car stalled and came to a stop as i rolled off the shoulder. A second high pressure fuel pump is indicating that its going to fail and i am seriously concerned about driving it. The car only has 16,000miles and dealer refuse to swap the pump until there is actually failure even though i have exhibited all the signs that the pump is about to fail again. They only provided me a software update. I am seriously concerned for my safety and as a result am not driving this car long distances or on the highway.. I think its about time authorities step up and force bmw to deal with this very serious vehicle hazard, which they are abundantly aware of, but refuse to do nothing about.
2007 335i went suddenly into a limp mode while driving on a busy road.car behind me almost rear-ended me due to the sudden slow down. I was able to control the car and drive into a parking lot. The car had to be towed to the dealership. The dealership told me my fuel pump had failed. They have promised to get it repaired in couple of days. My car just had 6000 miles and it is not even a year old. I saw on the internet that lot of people have had this problem since way back from 2006. If bmw was aware of this issue, why did they not fix this problem before selling the car?
2007 bmw 335i sedan purchased used from dealer with 51,000 miles.about one month later, fuel system failed on interstate causing vehicle to loose power in rush hour traffic with high risk of accident and injury.car towed to dealer for analysis and replacement of fuel pump, kept for more than a week.one month later, the same problem occurred again.dealer would not cover cost of repair but said the car was drivable.drove car very minimal over last two months, now car will not accelerate to more than 50 mph and shudders dramatically.researched recalls and complaints revealed a long history of consumer complaints describing my exact circumstances.proceeding with very costly repair but apprehensive about result, safety and dependability of vehicle.manufacturer should recall and replace fuel system in order avoid potentially fatal circumstances.
High pressure fuel pump failure in 2007 bmw e90 (sedan) 335i.drivability issues due to very rough engine idle and trouble getting car restarted.
While driving the car hesitation occurred out of nowhere, car started idling poorly and engine reduced power came ondashboard, limp mode, car shut off, tried to restart and it restarted after several attempts, engine warning light came on and car idled really bad wanting to shut off at every stop, took it for service at dealer and was diagnosed with a defective high pressure fuel pump, replaced under warranty. Car was 2 months old with only 2,300 miles on it.
High pressure fuel pump (hpfp) failed while driving my 2007 bmw 335i.car shutting down while in the fast lane on the highway.very dangerous and can cause rear end collisions!
Sudden loss of power on highway. The car did not stop or cause an accident but reading articles about others who have had same problems where car stalled at highway speeds scares me to death.
Nhtsa action number : pe08032 nhtsa recall campaign number : n/a make / models : model/build years: bmw / 335i 2007manufacturer : bmw of north america, llc component : fuel system, gasolinefuel system, gasolineeliveryfuel system, gasolineelivery:fuel pumpdate investigation opened : april 28, 2008 date investigation closed : open summary: the 2007 bmw 335i vehicles are equipped with a high precision fuel injection system designed to allow precise metering of the fuel mixture and higher engine compression to increase engine and fuel efficiency. The system includes a standard in-tank fuel pump to deliver fuel to the engine and a high-pressure fuel pump driven by the oil pump chain drive assembly, which can achieve a maximum programmed fuel pressure of 200 bar. Odi has received three owner complaints of stalling incidents in the subject vehicles due to failure of the high-pressure fuel pump. Additionally, odi has received eight complaints alleging incidents of vehicles unexpectedly going into a limp mode because of high-pressure fuel pump failures. A preliminary investigation has been opened to assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect.
Long cranks to start up engine and misfires upon cold start up almost every day. Often gets cel but dealer denies warranty/recall work on high pressure fuel pump (hpfp hereon) because i didn't have exact code they are seeking for. They confirmed the symptom but "unless car breaks down on the road or get the exact code, they will not replace failed part". Basically saying they will not voluntarily resolve problem unless they are forced to. Hpfp failure on bmw n54 engine platform is already well known fact hence bmw put extended warranty on hpfp. But it's not a recall and many times dealer denies to replace although they confirm the symptom and possible danger associated with the failed parts on vehicles. All they did was updating the dme program that supposedly fix the problem but long crank still happens everyday.
Hi, i purchased a 2007 certified pre owned bmw 335i from weatherford bmw in berkeley, ca just one week ago.since the purchase, i have had an engine malfunction, loss of power light come up over 10 times.it always comes up when i accelerate on the highway.it leads to a drastic reduction in power, vibration of the car, and causes me to go significantly below the speed limit.i am afraid the car is going to stall on me and that suddenly dropping the speed will result in anaccident.it is particularly ridiculous that this was labeled a "certified" car when it started having problems the very next day.i took it to a dealership to get it repaired and they claim the high-pressure fuel pump needs to be replaced.prior to taking it in, i noticed turning the car off and then on seemed to "reset" it and make the light go away.still no peace of mind while driving on the highway. I am awaiting repair of the vehicle to see if the issue has been fixed, but reading other complaints on the internet has left me pessimistic that anything is going to be done about this.
Bmw 335i had a fuel injector problem and within 2 weeks i have a microfilter problem.in 3 weeks, my car has been in the shop twice.
High pressure fuel pump failure in 2007 bmw 335i convertible @ 36k miles.car was purchased in april, 2010 with 32k miles.
High power fuel pump failure on 2007 bmw 335i sedan.vehicle began emitting smoke out the back, and running very rough. On a later restart the engine could not stay running.car was towed to dealer for repairs.hpfp was replaced and injectors were replaced, ecu software updated.
Fuel pump on 07 bmw 335 failed while making a left hand turn. Immediate loss of power almost caused an accident. Car towed to dealer. Waiting for parts. This has become a common problem with these cars.
Car started to rattle especially upon pressing gas pedal while running at around 50mph in a freeway. Significant reduced power was noticed. Soon "service engine soon" lit on the tachometer. When stopped a raw gas to rotten egg smell was around the car. By turning on/off ignition several times, it stopped rattling and regained full power.same issue happened again on a local road at around 50mph about a month later. Power regain was achieved through same way. "service engine soon" light went off 24hrs later.brought the car in to a local bmw center. Upon diagnosis, cylinder #2 misfire and both pre-cat or post-cat oxygen sensor low response. A service agent decided not to do anything at the moment because he couldn't replicate the issue i described although he did find the malfunction codes. He instead told me to bring the car when the same symptom occurs.he also said that the technician who looked at the car believed that a faulty fuel injector might have caused the misfire and both oxygen sensors malfunction consequently.
Purchased a used 2007 bmw 335i. Within 2 weeks car would shake and would lose power at higher rpm. Engine service light would come on, but not be present on restart. Dealer diagnosed as a faulty high pressure fuel pump. Dealer blamed it on fuel quality however i followed manufacture recommended octane ratings. Was also told that dealership has had massive problems with the fuel pump on this model turbo engine.
Car stalling and no power in the middle of the road while driving. No power to accelerate. This happened while i was making a u turn, cars was coming at me at a high rate of speed and i couldn't get power to accelerate. Tried pulling over safely. Car was oozing power and cant restart normally.
Hpfp failed for the 2nd time in my 2007 bmw 335i.
All 6 fuel injectors were leaking and caused the car to stall on the freeway.the fuel injectors were replaced along with the spark plugs and coils.1 year later at 100k miles, the same issue has arisen.the fuel system seems to be a constant problem with this car.it is a very dangerous problem, since the car shuts down at high speeds on the freeway.bmw should extend the warranty on the fuel injectors as they did with the high pressure fuel pump.
Fuel pump completely failed; car undrivable, would start and then stall 5-10 seconds later.initial stall occurred pulling out of a driveway onto a highway.bmw towed the car to closest dealership & diagnosed as high-pressure fuel pump failure.pump replaced, car out of service for ~5 days during repair.occurred with ~18k miles on vehicle.multiple online reports of other 335i vehicles with identical problems - this requires a safety recall.
I purchased my bmw 335i from a costa mesa used car dealer.the problem with the high pressure fuel pump was disclosed to me at time of purchase.however this vehicle was at one time in its life, affected by this problem that so many other 335i owners are facing.while i didn't provide the vin number, the car was manufactured in september 2006.the original owner of this car brought the car into a ca bmw dealership and it was ultimately bought back by the dealership, repaired, sent to an auction, where it was purchased by the used car dealership that i purchased it from in april 2008.at the time of purchase the vehicle had 4000 miles, so this problem occurred rather quickly.
Car suddenly loss any power while driving on the highway, car was shaking and unable to gain speed.
My cars high pressure fuel pump has failed (2 separate times) in high speed traffic, almost causing accidents.car is a bmw 335i 2007.
2007 335i fuel pump is failing on the road. My message says "engine malfunction reduced power" on the road. This can be dangerous to other cars on the road.
Car started perfectly for first 10000 mi.starts were short and smooth.car undriven for 7days before incident.driving on freeway after an unusual long hard start. Lost engine power all of a sudden. Car system says: engine malfunction engine power reduced. The same thing happened on the next few starts-reduced power after a short time driving.it then failed on every start until i had my appointment (18 days)us model 2007 335xi build date may 2007 took it to bmw gallery in calgary.it is the high pressure fuel pump and it is on indefinite backorder from germany.they cannot fix it until bmw releases a new version.there is no eta for this part.they tell me it is ok to drive.i feel it is unsafe.from my investigation, this is a common problem that merits a complaint.
Reduced power indicator illuminated on dash. Shut off and restarted engine. Check engine light then illuminated.at time of event, owner was 160 miles from residence. Vehicle continued to operate normally albeit with significantly limited power. Vehicle was taken to dealer the next morning and problem diagnosed as defective high pressure fuel pump. Part was replaced under warranty. Dealer said when fuel pump failed previously (on march 11, 2010) the replacement part was the predecessor part number.
April 2007 build bmw 335i coupe stalled in the middle of the road due to failure of high pressure fuel pump.after taking it to a bmw dealer, it was replaced and problem appears to have been solved in my car.however, i do believe that this issue is relatively common among 335i owners and is very much a safety issue.acar with this problem is prone to stall in the middle of driving and that could be a very dangerous scenario.in my case, bmw was very good about replacing the part.but i think for a lot of people, they may not know that this potential problem is lurking in their car.there have been a large number of owners on the bmw enthusiast forums who have experienced this problem.
2008 bmw 335i (e93) high pressure fuel pump failure resulting in long starts and sometimes reduced power or engine stalling while driving.bmw replace hpfp (high pressure fuel pump) with rebuilt unit at 2,200 miles.
The high pressure fuel pump in my bmw 335i. The consequences, while well documented, for me lack of acceleration and unable to go past 45mph. This occurred on a major freeway where the speed limit is 60mph across the lake washington bridge. The part replaced was the high pressure fuel pump by bmw. What lead up to the failure? simply accelerating to freeway speeds caused the onboard computer to notify me there was an engine malfunction. It then reduced my speed to approximately 45mph.
Car loses power and shakes.check engine light comes on.car dies and must be towed.this is the second time this has happened.the first time 6 months ago the fuel pump was replaced.
High pressure fuel pump has been replaced twice on the vehicle.
The car started normally but within a mile it began to shudder above ~2.5k rpm. I got to my destination without further incidence. Later that day soon after leaving the parking lot the car died at a stop sign. Ses and other lights came on. I started it up and it immediately died again. This happened repeatedly until i found that if i gave it the right amount of gas and kept it under a certain rpm i could operate with very limited power. That combined with the fact it was largely downhill and not very far to my house allowed me to get home safely. I drove it to the dealership the next day (keeping it well under 2.5k rpm to do so) and they replaced the high pressure fuel pump.
Bmw 335 suffers from a faulty high pressure fuel pump which causes the car to stall in the middle of driving or exhibit loss of power. This can be fatal especially if on freeways, car stalls in middle of driving, and the driver behind collides at high speed.please look into this issue and have bmw recall the faulty pumps and issue fixed versions.
The bmw 335i has problem with the high pressure fuel pump failures which was acknowledged by bmw n/a with a extended warranty on this part for 10 years or 120k miles. My bmw 335i has had 3 fuel pump failures in 24,000 miles, each time the car has completely stalled leaving me stranded in very dangerous scenarios. The most recent time i was stranded on a busy road with no shoulder which my safety was jeopardized by this cars default. Numerous attempts to contact bmw n/a have been made, to no avail.
Driving home my 2007 bmw 335 all of sudden lost horse power.error message stated "engine malfunction-reduced power".this occurred on an entry to an expressway while trying to accelerate.it obvious the dangers that could happen when the vehicle loses power.i was fortunate enough to pull over and limp to next exit.the dealer ship stated the problem was high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) the is the 2nd time the hpfp has been replaced on my vehicle.my vehicle only has 38k miles.i did further research and this appears to be a common problem.bmw needs to address this before anyone gets injured as a result of this issue.
I purchased a 2007 bmw 335i on 15 june 2007, on 16 june 2007 the car would not start in the grocery store parking lot.after several tries the car stated and we stumbled home.after arriving home the car started and stalled, then all the engine warning lights came on.bottom line car was towed to dealer, and high pressure fuel pump had to be replaced.the car had 238 miles on it.it took 3 weeks for the dealer to get the part.this is a common problem on the 335 series car.if this happens in traffic or on the highway, it could be a disaster.this requires some immediate scrutiny as it is still happening on cars with replacement pumps and 2008 models as well.
High pressure fuel pump failure.
Noticed a long crank (about 5 seconds long) when i started my vehicle (2007 bmw 335i sedan) in the morning.the vehicle did start though.i was coming home from breakfast when the "engine malfunction" light came on and dramatically reduced power.at the time i was turning left at a signaled intersection.i was not able to accelerate through the turn and could have been struck by drivers turning left behind me.after a second or two, the car was able to accelerate, but in a reduced power state.later, it was determined the high pressure fuel pump failed.this was the second high pressure fuel pump replacement on this vehicle within a 6 month or about a 8000 mile span.if i was on the freeway or other high speed road, and this reduced power state appeared due to the fuel pump - i would pose a serious hazard to others on the road, and put my safety in jeopardy.
I currently own a 2007 bmw 335i sedan that was purchased april 2007. A year later i went into the dealership for my first scheduled maintenance (oil change) and also reported to the service advisor that it took longer cranks or multiple cranks to start the engine. After some diagnostics ran on the engine, it was determined that the high-pressure fuel pump was failing and about to fail soon. The dealership decided to replace the failing pump. Fortunately i didn't have to experience with any dramatic or catastrophic events while operating the vehicle, though there were some other owners of the similar vehicle had experience near-accident situations. Nonetheless, the fuel pump showed signs of failing and i'm just happened to bring the car in time to replace it.
The high pressure fuel pump on my '08 bmw 335i failed.i am reporting this because of the high incidence of failures of the fuel pump on this vehicle.no one was injured but if the pump had failed while driving it could have caused an accident.
Multiple incidents with "engine malfunction. Reduced power" aka limp mode.on my 2007 bmw 335i sedan.bmw replaced fuel pump once, but now seems like the problem is repeating itself.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i.while driving 50 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and the check engine indicator illuminated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the fuel injector was defective and needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the vehicle was not repaired.the vin was unavailable.the failure mileage was 65,000.
My previous car was a 2007 bmw 335i coupe. After a couple of months of owning the car, the car was diagnosed with a faulty fuel pump. Subsequently, i purchased a 2008 335i convertible. After driving the car for a couple of thousand miles, the car started showing signs of a faulty fuel pump (long crank times). Yesterday, the engine malfunction light came on and the issue was determined to be that of the faulty fuel pump. At this point, the car went into limp mode with reduced power. Additionally, there was shaking and the car was misfiring and running very rough.this is clearly a huge defect with the 335i engines. It is a safety hazard should the fuel pump break while the car is on a highway, or in a deserted location with no access to a repair shop. I would appreciate if this issue is given the seriousness that it deserves.
Owner of a 2007 bmw 335i coupe.noticed a problem with rough idles and long cranks at start-up.as time went by, the long cranks and rough idles became more frequent.while driving onto the freeway via freeway on ramp, fuel pump failed while i was merging and engine was cut to half power "limp-mode."car had significant loss of power and i was almost rear-ended by a semi that was driving in the slow lane.
Initially, car was slow to start after pressing start button. Immediately experienced noticeable decrease in power. Car was not responsive at allwhenever i attempted to accelerate. Exhaust note began to sound like there was a hole in the muffler. After 1 or 2 days, a yellow service engine light appeared in dashboard display. Afterwards car felt like it would stall out unless i depressed pedal to keep rpms up. The car was towed to the dealership where i was told when i picked up the car that the problem was due to a computer program failure. On my way home after 10 minutes of driving i returned the car to the dealership and told the service advisor that my car was not fixed and that i was experiencing the same car substandard performance. After a couple of days i was called and told the problem was the high pressure fuel pump. The car is till at the dealership as the part has not arrived at the dealership yet.
Purchased a bmw 335i coupe from bmw of manhattan and it has broken down half a dozen times and spent over 30 consecutive days at the service dept. When it broke down the first time due to faulty fuel pump that i was told is on back order then broke down few more times due to similar problems including recently car dying on me due to fuel injector malfunction. 23k miles on the car.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i.the contact stated that when starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel and the vehicle would attempt to shut off. The dealer diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced.the vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The failure and current mileage was 56,000.
2008 bmw 335i. Jan build picked up at the bmw welt in feb of 08. @9,500 miles. High pressure fuel pump failure. Car experienced a sudden loss of power while i was driving on a secondary road. Thankfully i was about to make a turn and the car behind me was a reasonable distance away.also service engine soon light has come on. Car has a very rough idle and is barely drivable on public roads.
Had a high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) failure while driving which resulted in the car going into limp mode (reduced engine power) while driving.this limp mode is potentially a serious safety issue in that if you are on the highway, merging, passing, or around town driving and you get this limp mode you can be involved in an accident due to the vehicle not responding as you, or other drivers, would expect.symptoms of this issue are long starting crank periods before the vehicle turns over.bmw has know this is a problem for a number of years yet have not spent the appropriate effort to correct the problem.i have had two hpfp failures in the past 11 months (may 2009 and feb 2010).
High pressure fuel pump failed on my car twice1st instance - 3000 miles on car - 2 months old- octoberish of 07 - symptoms were long cranking - taking 5-10 seconds to start - occasionally 20-30 seconds. (complaint was never filed - dealer replaced under warranty)2nd instance - just a few weeks ago - no warning - driving away from my house, pulling into a busy street, suddenly almost no power, and almost stalled, and would have if i didn't get the clutch in and foot on the gas as quick as i did. Car went into limp mode and was barely drivable. Had to abuse the clutch just to get it to move without stalling, felt like it had maybe 50 horsepower if i was lucky. No exaggeration. - would occasionally stall at idle at this point.barely limped a few blocks home.(this fuel pump was the 2nd in the car, had about 25,000 miles on it and about 1.5 years).
The car stalled and lost power on highway.engine light came on . Rough idling.first incident occurred september 2011.the second incident happened oct 26, 2011.both times the car stalled and lost power on the highway.i believe that this created a very dangerous and life threatening situation for me and others on the highway.
Long cranks to start, shaking now while starting, engine service soon light appearing.
Injectors 1-3 have failed.looked up bmw customer tsb's and found (si b13 14 10) customer letter describing a known failing part with specific part numbers that correlate. I have these part numbers currently installed in my car and failing.my car was taken in previously for a related tsb due to faulty fuel pump and software update which was replaced however the dealership did not look into the rest of the fuel system. **a letter was sent to me about the fuel pump and software update. I did not request service or have any issues at the time.now that my "extended service" for these parts is up, bmw is not willing to help!i think this is bs considering 1. The dealership could have changed the known faulty part during my previous service.2. Why was this not followed up on by bmwna since its all part of the fuel system?
Engine began running rough. Within 1 mile the reduced power indicator was illuminated on the dash. Shutoff and restarted engine - check engine light then illuminated. Vehicle was taken to local dealership and problem diagnosed as a defective high pressure fuel pump. Dealer replaced pump under warranty.
Failed hpfp for the 3rd time in my 2007 bmw 335i.
Slow starting starving for gasalways happens after the car has been off for overnight.this leads to the car going into limp mode that is dangerous on the road.a common issue with dbw new 335 engines, fuel pumps have been a major problem with many cars either not starting or going into limp mode.replaced with the same pump that has failed in many cars from 2007 to now 2008 models.
Fuel pump replaced twice within a one year process.
I drive a bmw 335i and the fuel pump failed.indications were long crank times, engine stalling while driving, and shuttering while driving.i know of many other bmw's with the twin turbo engine that have/had this problem.bmw needs to completely redesign the fuel pump so serious incidents do not occur while driving.
Started my car in the morning in about 400 feet after changing to 2nd gear and the clutch fully engaged drove 20 feet and the car bucked. No engine fault lights lit. Drove to work. At lunch time started the car and the engine light was lit anything about 1/4 throttle the car would bog down and slow down. Maximum speed was around 45mph with very little acceleration. Upon restart the car was running without the engine light and performance returned. I'm concerned this could happen at any moment such as merging onto the highway. This is a major safety concern when i have my family in the car.contacted the dealer and they inspected the car the next day. They found the hpfp to be faulty and replaced it.
Long cranking before my 07 bmw 335i starts. Engine loses power and goes into limp home mode! dealer reprogrammed my vehicle, but now it has no power!it also has a lot of turbo lag at the lower rev range!
Was driving at approximately 55 mph when my car started to shutter. My bmw started to slow despite me depressing the gas pedal. I had to pull off the side of the road even though there was not a good spot to stop. Bmw attempted to fix it once by updating the car's software. However, they ended up replacing the fuel pump. It took two service sessions to fix the problem.
My vehicle is 2007 model bmw 335i coupe.i was on the freeway 405 going approximately 70 miles per hour. Then suddenly an engine warning light "engine malfunction" sign comes up which lowers the rpm and the speed output of the engine to around 30~ 40. I have to quickly merge the vehicle from the inner lanes to the right going onto the curb since there was no curb on the inner lanes. After approximately 3 minutes as i slowly guided my vehicle to the side, the engine shuts off on its own with stuttering sound and engine cranking. I restarted the engine several times to no avail. I was extremely dangerous as the sudden slow down and engine shut off might happen when i am in the middle of the freeway and the cars behind or next to me might easily hit me with typical freeway speed of 70 mph. I called the two truck and had the vehicle towed to a bmw center. They inspected the vehicle and believed that the high pressure fuel pump is bad and will replace the fuel pump for me. It appears to be that this very same issue appeared quite often to a number of 335i or other bmw models using the same engine, in particular to the 07 and 08 models. More over, a lot of the car owners have the same issue happened to them even after their fuel pump replaced once or even twice. It seems like there is no absolute fix for such issue and it poses as a tremendous danger for bmw drivers with this specific engine since you cannot be certain when he problem will re-occur.similar complains have been filed and the action can be referred here nhtsa action number: pe08032.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While driving approximately 65 mph and accelerating the contact felt a vibration in the front end of the vehicle. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact stated that there was a voluntary recall for the high pressure fuel pump and a software update. The vehicle was taken into the dealer for the recall repairs and to diagnose the failure of the vibration. The technicians stated that the low pressure fuel pump and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The repairs were not made by the dealer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where alow pressure fuel pump and spark plugs were replaced. After the repairs were made the contact continued to experience the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that she had an after market warranty and they would have the vehicle inspected by one of their inspectors. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Drove car normally - no extraordinary event leading up to issue. Car threw engine error and ran under forced 'limp' mode. Took to dealer - they had to replace the high pressure fuel pump.
High pressure fuel pump failing resulting in my vehicle to shut off and not start. I'm very afraid this could happen while passing a vehicle on the highway or while on a vacation trip with family.
The fuel pump/ injector problem in bmw335i twin turbo charged engines.the car suddenly gets into a limp mode(drop power and engine malfunction lights on) when driving on freeways/ramps etc.fuel pump replaced. The problem occurs again in 2 months. Fuel injectors replaced. Don't know if this will occur again.
--1. Car started to idle rough when started from cold. Car would shake at traffic stops and often feel sluggish during acceleration.--2. High pressure fuel pump failed and car went into limp mode. Limp mode immediately shut down the car and could not be started again. This is a safety risk as car shuts down and could cause serious injury when traveling at high speeds.--3. After waiting 32 days, the high pressure fuel pump was replaced. Bmw north america claimed national backorder on the part. Bmw kept the failed fuel pump.
My 8 month old bmw 335 fails on me while driving in the freeway with my 7 year old son at 1130pm.engine malfunction. Towed it to the dealer -it was the fuel pump.they apparently replaced it ..the next day i got it back late afternoon. Driving itback home after 60 miles. It did it again.apparently im not the only one who' s having problem..this is a very serious ..it just stop in the middle of the roadwith a vehicle that's only 8 month old....hope you will address this.
I just bought a bmw 335 in december 2006, less than 7,000 miles and while driving in the highway the malfunction engine light turned on. The car started to idle and there was almost complete loss of power. When i tried to take the car to service they initially refused to take the car because i had not made an appointment. Such an expensive car and its falling apart just a few miles after. Finally they look into the problem and it seems to be the high pressure gasoline pump. I've read online that several people have had this problem but still bmw refuses to acknowledge it.

The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i.while driving 55 mph, the vehicle sporadically failed without warning.the vehicle was able to restart immediately.on several occasions, the vehicle would shutter excessively while driving at any speed.he took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure or provide a remedy.the failure recurred so he took the vehicle back to the dealer.a technician stated that the fuel system, gasoline: delivery: fuel pump was the possible cause of the failure.the vehicle is currently being repaired.the failure mileage was 2,000 and current mileage was 15,000.
The high pressure fuel system on my 2007 bmw 335 failed at speed on the expressway causing me to lose power and be forced to pull onto the shoulder and call roadside assistance.
Substantial power loss, many episodes (5 at least), bmw does not seem to be able to correct. High pressure fuel pump and injectors replaced twice. Problem still exists this has happened at 70mph, car bogged to 20mph. Barley got off freeway last two times .
Experienced fuel pump failure on my 2007 bmw 335i and became a safety hazard to others driving behind me on my way to work. Started experiencing symptoms as recently as a month ago, such as long engine crank times, very rough idling upon startup, and occasional "limp mode" performance. In spite of all this, the dealership did not work on my car until i experienced a "service engine soon" (ses) warning light. The fuel pump progressively got worse where the engine would shudder when revving over 2000rpms, and the car perpetually remained in limp mode where it is not able to accelerate in a safe enough manner to drive on public roads and highways. I was finally able to bring my car in for warranty repair when the ses light came on at 7/25/07 on my 02/07 production vehicle. I was told that there is over a one month wait for a fuel pump replacement.
High pressure fuel pump failure in bmw 335i coupe.4 weeks to replace.
My 8 month old bmw 335 fails on me while driving in the freeway with my 7 year old son at 1130pm.engine malfunction. Entering a freeway on ramp during a turn, the car's fuel system failed and caused the car to 'shutter' (same feeling as someone who does not know how to drive a stick shift). This caused the car to lose control and flip over after hitting a ditch. The car has already had two fuel pumps replaced and bmw knows about this problem. So far, bmw does not want to take responsibility for their inability to fix this known 335i problem. There are already 11 complaints (not including this one) regarding the issue on this website. Bmw assist also failed in the crash as it did not contact bmw assist call center after the crash.
Fuel pump on 07 bmw 335 failed while making a left hand turn. Immediate loss of power almost caused an accident. Car towed to dealer. Waiting for parts. This has become a common problem with these cars.
I have 5,500 miles on my brand new bmw 335i, and the fuel pump failed on me.luckily, the failure occurred while my car was at my home, as opposed to on the road/freeway, which could have caused me to get into an accident.it's now been 5 days that my car has been at the dealership, and instead of immediately replacing the fuel pump under warranty, the corporation is requiring the dealership to run a bunch of tests on my car, and to basically get rid of the fault codes without replacing the fuel pump.this is a known issue with the 335s which bmw north america refuses to issue recalls for.the issue is widely discussed on www.bimmerpost.com.
The fuel pump fails and dies out.

High pressure fuel pump failure.
Failed fuel pump, (twice now) once at 8,000 miles, and now again at 23,000 miles. I bought this vehicle new.it's a 2007 bmw 335i.
The high pressure fuel pump malfunctioned while merging into traffic on a freeway on-ramp, resulting in a near rear- end collision as the vehicle suddenly slowed due to the malfunction.this is a well known defect in this vehicle for which production continued, knowing full well the potential for eventual malfunction, without disclosure to the purchaser.
My previous car was a 2007 bmw 335i coupe. After a couple of months of owning the car, the car was diagnosed with a faulty fuel pump. Subsequently, i purchased a 2008 335i convertible. High rate of fuel pump failures for the 335i bmw, if occurs on the highway leads to very dangerous situations. Bmw should be forced to issue a recall for safety concerns.
2 fuel pump failures resulting in over one month without vehicle.
--1. Car started to idle rough when started from cold. Car would shake at traffic stops and often feel sluggish during acceleration.--2. High pressure fuel pump failed and car went into limp mode. After waiting 32 days, the high pressure fuel pump was replaced. Bmw north america claimed national backorder on the part. Bmw kept the failed fuel pump.
I had a 2007 bmw 335i sedan that experienced a bad fuel pump problem.i brought it in to be serviced but they stated they could do nothing about it until an error code was thrown.the car ran like complete garbage and would shake fervently while idling.now, i have a 2008 bmw 335i and after about 4800 miles, 2 spark plugs and 2 ignition coils had to be replaced.i am absolutely fumid paying this much for a vehicle that has zero reliability.this car also shakes rather roughly at idle and makes me question the integrity of the manufacturer's fueling system.
My new bmw 335i sedan started losing power and eventually vibrated to a halt. Fuel pump failure. Dealer had memo on dcs but failed to acknowledge so.
Fuel pump failure.
Bmw 335 coupe hpfp (high pressure fuel pump for direct injection) failed before 4,000 miles.no signs of failure, car started to run rough, went into "limp" mode, and then would not restart without dying again after a few moments.car was towed to the dealer, and was diagnosed as fuel pump failure.i had to wait 7+ weeks with the car in service because the fuel pump was on international backorder with 400+ units on backorder!pump was replaced after being in the shop for 7+ weeks, and car is running good again.

I own a 2007 bmw 335i.a few months ago after a service issue for an unrelated problem, my vehicle dash display went haywire and showed an engine problem.i was traveling on a highway at speed and suddenly no power.the vehicles behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me.it was also difficult to get over onto the shoulder.the dealership diagnosed the issue as a failed high pressure fuel pump.after some recent research i have read thatthis is a common and known issue with my vehicle, yet there have been no mandatory recalls, merely replacements pump that in many cases fails again.i see this as a potentially life-threatening issue that is waiting to occur given the right circumstances.
I have had two fuel pumps replaced for my bmw 335i and it is very annoying.the events leading up to the failure were very long cranks when i started the car and one time my car even almost broke down and wouldn't start on me... Bmw replaced both the fuel pumps that went dead and for one of them i had to wait three weeks to get it... =/ very mad!!
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the fuel pump and starter failed and needed to be repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 110,000.
2007 bmw 335i has known widespread fuel pump problem with high rate of failure leading to sudden power loss.i have new car with 1200 mi, with no warning from dealer about potential problem, i experienced near complete power loss on busy freeway leading to near collision.this car should be categorically recalled until all fuel pumps are replaced.mfr is continuing to sell this car with known defect without warning consumer. When presented with this problem, it is common for a 2-3 month backorder on replacement pump which also has a high failure rate.overall, bmw's poor design, lack of thorough testing before release of new engine, and failure to warn customers is creating this unacceptable hazard.
On cold starts with my 335i sedan, car would take 5-6 seconds to start. Happened after 1,950 miles, consecutive mornings and evenings. Brought the car into the shop. They reset the computer and discovered a failed fuel pump. Part is on back order, still not eta on arrival and car has been in the shop for over 3 weeks now.
Going approx. 55-60 mph, sudden no throttle response, once on the side of the road shut down then restart and drive for about 200ft then went into limp mode, stayed in limp mode until i got it to the dealership 2 days later. Tried restarting twice the following day which resulted in 3-6 sec crank time then once started it would have low throttle response with heavy vibration, after about 10 secs it would go in limp mode again with heavier chugging and vibration and eventually shutdown with 7 secs with a "choking" sound. Lack of fuel.
High pressure fuel pump failed on freeway causing immediate loss of 70% of power.dealership is also saying that fuel injectors are faulty.after looking through different internet websites it seems to be a common problem in early 335i models.almost crashed because of it.
High pressure fuel pump failure.
This is my third bmw. In all cases, the fuel sending units develop hairline fractures that cause fuel to leak; in my previous two cars this problem developed at around 75,000-80,000 miles. In the present car, the propulsion pump near the fuel tank also developed a hairline fracture. The substandard quality of these parts cause an unsafe condition whereby fuel leaks can cause a fire.
Fuel injectors failing. Known recall exists with bmw for mfg dates between 04/02/2007 through 10/31/2008. Bmw refuses to cover my car under the recall as my car was produced in late 2006. However, the piezo injector part number is the same as the part number under recall, the symptoms and resulting failure of the car is also exactly the same as documented. This is a known issue documented thoroughly online and within bmw's database. I propose bmw to extend their recall to cover all model years with this part number.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While at a stop light, the vehicle vibrated and the cylinders shut down. The failure caused the vehicle to decelerate. The dealer stated that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
The high pressure fuel pump goes out without warning. Its extremely dangerous when traveling 70 mph down the interstate and all sudden the car stall and shuts down and you have to man handle the steering wheel. That being said an 18 wheeler had to pull a magic trick to not smash me and my 3 kids!!! i'm highly bothered by this. Iv seen reviews of the hpfp going bad why has bmw not fixed the issue yet???????😡😡😡
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning with the illumination of the engine service and engine malfunction light. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated the fuel injector and waste gate needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle began to shudder as if it were going to stall when the acceleratorpedal was depressed. The contact took the vehicle to checkered flag bmw (5225 virginia beach blvd, virginia beach, va 23462; 866-414-7820 or 757-490-1111) where it was diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump and the low pressure fuel sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was included in the voluntary recall regarding the failure; however, due to the age of the vehicle, the failure was no longer covered under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.
There is already a recall for the fuel injectors in vehicles like mine but my vin number is not apart of the recall. I am having the same issues stated in the recall. Recall sib 13 01 20 which is for vehicles like mine manufactured between 04/07 and 11/08. My vehicle was manufactured in 07/07 but somehow it was not included. I have been troubleshooting an issue with the vehicle hesitating and misfiring and it is due to the fuel injectors leaking into the cylinder. I have replaced all spark plugs and ignition coils and there is evidence that the spark plugs have fuel on them due to the leaking fuel injector. When i start the vehicle it starts normally but after idling for 5 minutes it begins to misfire with white plumes of smoke exiting the exhaust. The vehicle was not driven before or warmed up before this happened. I have also had this exact same issue happen to me as i am sitting at a red light the vehicle will hesitate, misfire and a white plume of smoke comes out of the exhaust. This hesitation and misfire has also happened to me while driving in the city in motion at about 40-50mph. The car misfires/hesitates and regains power immediately. Upon inspection of the spark plugs, cylinder 3 was saturated in fuel.
Driver side door lock actuator failed. Cannot unlock driver side door from inside the car with central unlock, key fob, or door lever.
The automatic door locks on my car have quick working and the only way to enter or exit the car is through the driver door using the manual key fob.passenger doors are inoperable from both interior and exterior.this presents a serious safety concern in the event of an accident or fire.
Can not unlock doors using the key fob!only driver door can be opened manually using the key inside the key fob!no other doors could be opened even manually using the interior door handles! (this is a design flaw that needs to be corrected otherwise it can cause serious issues if problem occurs in an accident that could make exiting the vehicle very difficult to impossible ).
Bmw 335i interior doors were locked due to electrical/mechanical malfunction/failure of the door lock system.i had to unroll the windows and crawl out and pull my kids out of the back seats through the windows.if this were an accident, there would have been severe injuries and made it impossible to quickly get out of the car.online forums indicate this is a serial problem and should be subject to manufacturer recall for this issue.
Door locks failed using key fob or button on dash.followed service bulletin to replace fuse, but problem keeps reappearing.passenger door inoperative even after fuse replaced and other doors working.

The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i.
Door lock malfunctioning.all 4 doors on my 2007 bmw 335i won't open using the key remote nor the central lock system.even when trying to open the door manually, i was not able to open any of the 4 doors.my family had to climb out from the window.i see a lot of complaints from different forums.how do you expect a passenger to get out the car during emergency situation?one of the passengers was a handicap.not being able to open all doors it can be a life threatening.planning to take the car to the dealer next week.
On saturday evening, may 15, 2010, the door actuators of my 2007 bmw 335i blew out a fuse.as a result, none of the doors were capable of being opened, except for the driver's side door.the car's key fob could not unlock the doors.the lock button on the dash would not work.it was impossible to open any of the doors manually.there would have been no way a passenger could have exited the car, except by climbing through the driver's side door or by climbing out the windows.this is a serious safety issue and presents particular dangers to disabled passengers. This problem has been well-documented for 2007 3-series vehicles on the web.see http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2007/bmw/335i/latch,+lock+and+linkage and http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2007/bmw/328i/latch,+lock+and+linkage.this video on youtube represents exactly what happened to my car:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v04l-isycs.i understand that bmw has a service bulletin for dealers regarding the problem.dealers fix the problem only by changing the fuse.staff at bmw san francisco, where i purchased the car (certified used) six weeks ago, told me today (may 19, 2010) that even with a new fuse, the problem could recur.i further understand that bmw has willfully refused to issue a recall.the fuse box is located in the glove compartment inside the car.were the door actuators to cause a fire and the passenger doors incapable of being opened, passengers could very well suffer serious injuries or even death.the 335i manual indicates that meddling with the car's fuse box could result in a fire.
When the power door lock fuse is blown, passenger cannot exit or enter the car manually.you can't open the door using the inside or outside door handle.the car would lock you in.only the driver side door can be open using the inside door handle.i have to let the passengers in my car climb over the driver seat to get out.this is a serious problem because if the driver door is jam or block for any reason then you cannot open any other door to get out.it gets worse since bmw put an under power fuse for the door lock which cause the fuse to blown often.
Door locks permanently locked from inside of car while i was i stopped at a mall parking spot with wife and 9 month old son.i could not unlatch the doors by using the door unlock button and through the key unlock button. (second time this has happened since my ownership began at 14400 miles and third in cars total history according to the ownership record). Car is still under warranty until december 24 2011. Just had this problem fixed on 1/8/2009 at perillo bmw in chicago il.i had to roll down my window, climb out, and then take the key out of the key fob and unlock the driver door.i had to have my wife climb in back to get son out of seat and pass him forward to the front seat so i could get him out through the drivers door.she climbed back into front and got out drivers door. This took approximately 4-5 minutes. If there was an accident or a car fire, there is now way i could have gotten my family out in a hurry.this problem has been reported on numerous bmw car club sites and there is really no quick fix but to replace door lock actuator or fuses.even when these parts are replaced, the problem happens time and time again.this is very dangerous.
My vehicle has an issue where apparently a fuse blows and the door locks can not be activated by the fob, interior handles (except the driver door), or the interior door locking switch. [please note that i do not have any child safety locks activated on the rear doors.] the only way you can open the driver door is through the valet key. This has occurred to me twice and is now apparently a service bulletin with bmw. I am writing to you because i feel it is a design hazard if the electrical system were to fail in an accident, then this becomes an extreme hazard if fire or any other issue were involved. I would have thought that there was required an alternative means of unlocking the doors other than electrically (hence the door pull knobs which in my car are even with the trim and unable to grasp).
Central locking failure causing only the drivers side door to be operable. The passenger and rear doors cannot be opened from the inside or outside. In the event of fire passengers could not let themselves out or emergency personnel would not be able to open the 3 doors from the outside.
Electric door locks failed on all four doors.could not unlock any passenger door until fuse inside glove box was replaced.driver could exit the drivers door by manually lifting door handle.no apparent means to open any passenger doors (or gas door cover) until the fuse was replaced.had there have been a front seat passenger, that occupant would have to climb over console and exit the drivers door to even allow access to the fuse panel.this is the second occurrence in this vehicle and based on my online research, it is a common problem with this model vehicle.if this problem were to occur and then an accident happened, it would be a serious safety issue because none of the passengers could exit rapidly.
The central locking system failed and only the driver door could be open from the inside.my wife was traveling with my newborn baby in the back seat and could not get outside the car, because the remaining (three) doors could not be opened from the inside neither from the car's outside handles. I reach for my newborn baby boy from the driver's seat and my wife had to exit through the rear window, because she could not make it through the center console. This had happened twice during last month, and could be worse if an elderly person or handicap person could not exit through the rear window.and it could get much worse with heavy sun and you have to turn off the engine because the fuel door also gets locked, so the car cannot be refueled. This locking system is a very bad design because if it fails, the mechanical levers gets disconnected and nobody can open the door from the car's inside handles neither outsides.
The transmission malfunctioned while attempting to park. Car won't go in reverse, also car had no power to accelerate in drive mode. This was caused because the valve body sealing sleeve that is made of plastic broke.
Valve cover oil leaking onto exhaust manifold that causes fire. It was turned off and stationary.asked bmw to change in 80k but they said just sweating oil. Safety hazard ignored. Common amoung bmw 3 series engine
This is a know issue that bmw dose not want to resolve in all of their dealership.the problem that we are talking about is that the transmission shudders an vibrates between 1,700 and 2,200 rpm in 3rd,4th,5th,6th gear.the loss of power has almost cost me several accidents.bmw says that they will flush the transmission and replace the transmission fluid in hopes to fix the issue or possible replace the entire transmission and torque converter..every time i go and try to get them to fix it they want to charge me for a know issue thathave. I have been a loyal bmw customer and to be treated this way is just wrong. Especially when it comes to safety and the safety of others.bmw show take ownership of this.
Car stalling and no power in the middle of the road while driving. No power to accelerate. This happened while i was making a u turn, cars was coming at me at a high rate of speed and i couldn't get power to accelerate. Tried pulling over safely. Car was oozing power and cant restart normally.
Normal use of ds sport mode involved moving the automatic transmission shifter to the left. This puts tension on the wires that support this function, crimping the wires and frequently leading to failure. The problem appears to be with the way the wiring harness is routed within the transmission lever.this is documented as a frequent occurrence in numerous diy videos on youtube and internet forums.failure of ds sport mode means that car can no longer be used in this mode. However, it can be driven in normal mode. This does not appear to be a safety issue. It is a design flaw that, through normal use, results in a failure that may require an expensive repair. My local shop quoted me $1,500 to replace the shifter.
After putting the car in reverse and moving to reverse into a parking space there is a "clunk" like heavy luggage that falls in the back of the car / or that you have banged into an obstruction in the road. (noticeably getting worse). Took it to the dealer for investigation and resolution.1) they decided it was the rear diff and replaced it. Took it on a test drive and found the problem still existed - so they put the original diff back in the car. Then they decided after ref to the chief technician and checking in germany - it was the drive shaft. They said there was no danger, so they ordered the replacement drive shaft 2) they installed the new drive shaft three weeks later. The problem remained. They decided it was a normal condition and said they test drove cars of similar age/ mileage and said the noise was acceptable. I disagreed. 3) made arrangements for the national technician to assess (oct 15, 2008) - he said the same outcome. Normal condition, acceptable noise level for age / mileage of the car. I disagreed.4)i called bmw customer service.they said after getting a report and feedback from the dealer (oct 20, 2008) that a further opinion in another dealership would not change the status of the analysis from bmw as the national technician had assessed the final outcome. The noise is noticeably getting worse over time.i have the car > 12m but < 18m and the milleage is 17,500 today.
First time about four month ago when i was driving, the car suddenly had check engine light on and lost about 50% power.next day i took the car to bmw dealer and the cil was gone. They said everythingwas fine. Today when i drove on hight way at about 65 m/h, cil on again and the car loss power, i think there is a safty issue with this car.
Facsimile from senator bob corker on behalf of constituent re problems with his 2007 335i transmission bmw.*njin dec 2007, part of the manual transmission was replaced. The part known as the friction pad. The consumer stated there were multiple reports of the transmission failing and smoke wisping out from under the hood. The consumer stated he inhaled that material in its smoke form, not its dust form.he was also told, the slave master cylinder's fluid also produced additional smoke.the consumer stated he complained of an overpowering intense burning rubber smell as the first exposure. The consumer was also told, the seeping fluid was a possible cause of the problem.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. When the clutch heats up the material burns inside the clutch plate, emits smoke and caused the contact to have breathing problems. The clutch disc was replaced; however, the same smell and toxic fumes have caused the contact to have permanent lung problems. The failure was repaired at 3,100 miles and recurred in july 2008. The contacts immediate concern was with the fumes that are inhaled. The current mileage was 6,000 and the failure mileage was 3,100.updated 10/03/08 updated 10/07/08.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. The contact stated that the air bag and seat belt warning lights illuminated. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v564000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 94,000.
There are several light bulbs on the dashboard, such as the brakes on the belts and the airbags i need to know if any of this has a recall thanks
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While driving at approximately 5 mph, the fault in the passenger restraint warning message displayed causing the air bag seat belt tension system to activate. The failure occurred multiple occasions. The vehicle was driven to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the senor under the mat of the front passenger side needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2007 bmw 335i. While driving 40 mph, the air bag and the passenger side seat belt warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the mat sensor and the air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Airbag problem light constantly lit; "passenger airbag off" light always on even when there is a passenger in the seat.mechanic states that the car is giving a code for a failed passenger occupancy sensor.there is already a recall for this model and year (nhtsa campaign 13v564000), but my car (build date july 07, 3-series with sports seats) is not eligible for the recall or the voluntary warranty extension according to bmw... .updated 10/04/17 the consumer requested the vehicle be included in the recall. The vehicle has the same part number as the recall part. Updated 10/17/2017
Abs hydraulic pump unit failure. This failure could result in a lack of breaking capacity inall conditions. The cost to repair is prohibitive and from the search of the internet it is pervasive in the 2005-2010 model years in the 3 series bmw.

Bmw 335i master brake and abs system failure without parts available in usa, canada, nor europe to effect repair. Bmw will not explain the absence of parts to solve the problem. Vehicle cannot be currently serviced with no estimate for part availability. Suspectan extensive problem has not yet surfaced.

Just the other day i decided to take a trip to the store . I stepped in the car and attempted to state it.i got the ( electric steering wheel lock malfunction ) it automatically disables the vehicle no matter where you are located .i called the dealershipto confirm the diagnostics andthey told me it was a common issue and it would cost me up towards $1500 out of pocket .. That is crazy !! now i have a heavy and expensivepaper weight in my driveway . I did some research on a couple of bmwforums to do some home work i couldn't believe the number of people with the same issue . The kicker is its a dealer part only . I have now choice but to go the dealership and be forced to pay premium prices for a defective part the is common to break . Its a sensor that is located in the steering column of the car that fails . Bmw designed the steering column to be one unit so i have to change out the whole column instead the effected problem which cost nothing in comparison. How is this my fault . Why do i have to pay this outrageous amount of moneyfor something that is out of my hands.
Steering wheel locked, car would not start, this happened after i parked the car. Very expensive to get it fixed
Steering wheel locked and vehicle will not start.
Red steering wheel with padlock in the dash. Doesn't go away at all. Cost several thousand to fix. Car won't start sometimes others it will but steering wheel doesn't lock. Searched online and tons of other 2006-2007 bmw owners have the same problem, once they found out the problem they started keeping all the parts ion stock. I even spoke to a dealership that says they have 2 cars a week for this; absolutely insane for one dealership. Its a well known default but not recall has been issued. If the steering wheel was to lock while someone was driving it could be fatal.
Steering wheel lock sensor activated.
I recieved an error message while driving a red steering wheel with a padock with the fear of something happening as i had my underage son in the car decided to stop and check the code which read ccid 186 after researching and finding out this is a very common issue with the 3 series i am very dissapointed with the ammount of claims this should be covered by bmw as it is over 1.5k to fix out of warranty .
The vehicle steering wheel locked and the car would not start. A known and consistent problem for this vehicle, yet no recall. A faulty lock mechanism in the steering column could lead to a fatal accident. This is completely unacceptable.
I have a 2007 bmw 335i with a locked steering wheel. This have been a non and dangerous problem from the release of the car. Bmw refuses to help there owners even when the estimated repair is about 2000. This item should have been recalled a long time ago, my steering locked on me while i was driving inthe city, i was able to get over before i hit something.http://bmwproblem.com/tag/steering/page/5/
Steering wheel lock engaged not while driving. Car was parked went to get in car and start it but nothing happened. Steering wheel lock is engaged. Turn steering wheel to start engine was the message that appeared on screen. Tried everything even called bmw dealership to ask for help. Tried everything they told me for hours. It still wont start. Needs to be towed to a dealership and fixed. Where the car wasn't moving when this happened this should be a recall. I should not have to pay for this because i have read many of forums and threads about steering wheel locks on 07 335i and having many problems. This needs to be fixed. Thankyou
Steering wheel locked and vehicle will not start.
My steering column locked up on me out of the blue without any warning.bmw dealer in raleigh nc (leith bmw on capital blvd) said that to fix is to replace the whole steering wheel column.
The vehicle was parked in my driveway, before i started vehicle i noticed a red steering wheel lock light on my dashboard, i tried to turn vehicle on and unforptunately my car won't start.
The steering wheel column locks up and will not start after driving it.if i drive normal without doing anything out of the normal it locks. I can't restart the car.i turn the steering back and forth to get it to unlock.i have even gone as far as to wait a few minutes and them restartit.i'm scared thesteering wheel will lock while i'm driving i have a 6 year old daughter and i don't want out lives at jeopardy.

When the power door lock fuse is blown, passenger cannot exit or enter the car manually.you can't open the door using the inside or outside door handle.the car would lock you in.only the driver side door can be open using the inside door handle.i have to let the passengers in my car climb over the driver seat to get out.this is a serious problem because if the driver door is jam or block for any reason then you cannot open any other door to get out.it gets worse since bmw put an under power fuse for the door lock which cause the fuse to blown often.
I was driving on i-405n at around 70 mph, the pace of the very light traffic that night, and there were no other cars within 100 yards in front of me. There were no overpasses or pedestrians anywhere nearby. All of a sudden, my sunroof spontaneously shattered! a large piece of it broke off and then was blown backwards, bouncing off my roof and trunk, scratching the paint. The person driving behind me drove over the sunroof and shards of glass. Luckily, i had my sunroof sunshade closed which prevented the shards of glass from showering on me when the sunroof exploded.

Rear passenger wheel, cracked again, less than a year before i had to purchase a new wheel due to cracks causing it to shimmy.a year later bmw tells me the same wheel is cracked again causing the car to shimmy.wheels cost $500. + per wheel.as a result i replaced all the wheels with a set of new american racing wheels, and shimmy has gone.there is a problem with these wheels, i have a four door sedan, not sports package, just standard wheel.
2007 bmw 335i with sport seats, malfunction light for passenger seat occurs when seat is occupied, which deactivates air bags, this could be potentially dangerous, very disappointed that bmw refuses to fix this issue since there is a recall on this specific part for several models, unfortunately they have told us that our vehicle is 2 months outside of the manufacturers date for the recall even though our vehicle requires thesame part number as other vehicles that where recalled.
I have a 2007 bmw 335i and i have a problem with bolts to valve cover gasket are loosening up or coming causing the car to loose oil while driving
Valve cover oil leaking onto exhaust manifold that causes fire. It was turned off and stationary.asked bmw to change in 80k but they said just sweating oil. Safety hazard ignored. Common amoung bmw 3 series engine
Bmw 335i 2007 has (x3)three times now, the vehicle was traveling during the daylight hours at highways speeds of 65-70mph in the number 1 far left lane of (ca 101 fwy) in may of 2016 when the vehicle displayed 'engine temperature was high, and that the car needed to be driven at a moderate speed'.immediately took my foot off the accelerator and began to coast in idle state to the shoulder (ca 101 fwy) 5 lanes over.before i was able to move to the 3rd lane the vehicle stated 'engine to hot', turned off, lost power (much like if you run out of gas), and i frightfully merged creeping along to the shoulder narrowly missed being hit by several other trucks and vehicles.i went to lift the hood, expecting to be overwhelmed by heat and conditions that would cause a bmw to disable suddenly and lose power.i observed no conditions of heat or unusual to cause a shut down.i was able to turn car on again in 10 minutes with no problemsthe temperature was no different or warmer than i have ever felt before, conditions were 72/*f, traffic was moving along at a good flow, with light cool bay area breeze.this has occurred 3times now, i have filled the coolant, i have had the starter and battery replaced and yet the same occurrence comes up.'department of consumer affairs, 'better business bureau, 'us department of transportation, 'national transportation and safety administration, 'abc nightline reported: (http://abcnews.go.com/thelaw/bmw-admits-fuel-pump-flaw-turbo-cars/story?id=11968495 ), 'dateline nbc reported: (http://www.nbcnews.com/business/bmw-recalls-134-000-luxury-sedans-over-tail-light-problem-4b11215107 )'ny daily news filed a story : (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/money/bmw-recalls-150-000-cars-faulty-fuel-pumps-article-1.192673 ), 'national highway tsa with safercar.gov.
2007 bmw 335i.consumer writes in regards to vehicle sudden acceleration.the consumer stated as he merged into traffic, the accelerator pedal became stuck to the floor, which caused the vehicle to accelerate. The consumer was able to push the gear into neutral. However, the engine continued to redline and he was forced to feather the clutch, in order to get off the road.bmw claimed the consumer pushed the pedal too hard, and therefore there was no defect in the design.the consumer stated the attachment, that held the pedal in place, slipped out of the plastic clip.

Sunroof exploded for no apparent reason.was merging onto a highway in the onramp at about 45mph, very bright and sunny (but not hot, maybe 75f) day.driver side window was open, a/c off, sunroof was closed, sunshade was also closed.suddenly i hear what basically sounds like a gunshot right above my head, and since having already heard about this phenomenon happening on a car forum (e90post.com) i regularly visit, i instantly guessed what had happened.i look in my rearview mirror and see large pieces of my sunroof bouncing along on the road behind me.once i arrived at my destination and got out of the car, i saw the sunroof had exploded outwards.the broken glass was curved up around the hole.from that same forum there are several theories floating around, the one most people seem to agree on as being most plausible is there's a heat/pressure difference between the sunshade/sunroof and the outside of the car.the negative pressure on the outside + the increase of heat under the glass is enough to stress whatever imperfection might have already been in the glass and literally suck it out.
Windshieldis very soft and rock chips and cracks very easy.
A small rock hit the windshield during driving, and the windshield cracked.this windshield appears to be extremely sensitive to chipping and cracking when hit by relatively small road debris.
Bmw 335 windshield uses defective glass.
The wheels were checked due to several instances of tire pressure loss.it was discovered that 3 of 4 rims have cracks that are causing the tires to lose pressure.upon doing some research, it is apparent that this defect has affected many bmw owners with run flat tires.
