2001 bmw 330.consumer writes in regards to airbag recall.the consumer stated she rear ended another vehicle. However, there was no force to warrant the air bags deploying.the force of the air bags deploying was so forceful, he back was broken.

Takata recall - i received a notice by mail that my car is subject to two recalls. I will have these recalls performed at bmw dealer soon. I request being part of the class action lawsuit.

On friday, may 16th, 2014, while driving alone approx 40 mph on a city street, i hit a pothole on the right side of the road. I immediately heard a loud noise when my wheel hit the pothole and at the same time an extremely loud 'pop'. The door side airbag hit my arm and the plastic covering from the curtain airbag above the driver's side window hit the side of my face but i was not injured.i smelled a 'smokey' smell and my car immediately shut itself off. I have hit potholes on rare occasions when i can't avoid them, but i would never have expected my airbag to deploy. This is a safety concern, and a costly one for the consumer, because i was not in an collision and the impact of the pothole should not have caused my airbags to deploy.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw 330ci. The contact noticed that the passenger air bag warning light would illuminate intermittently whenever the passenger seat was occupied. The failure would occur intermittently over a span of two years. The dealer was notified who informed the contact that the sensor pads located in the passenger seat would need to be replaced. The contact did not inform the manufacturer of the failure nor was the vehicle repaired. The current mileage was approximately 101,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 60,000. Updated 2/23/11 updated 05/06/11.

The driver did not receive any injuries. A police report was available. The driver and passenger were both transported to the hospital via ambulance. The contact stated that the vehicle was not inspected and he was awaiting the opening of an investigation. The failure and current mileage was approximately 99,088.updated 03/14/12*lj

I bought a used 2001 bmw 330ci 2dr coupe on the date of may 5th 2017. I had this vehicle for a very short amount of time approximately 7 weeks time. The takata air bag was present in this model, on top of that the well known overheating issue came my way. My model would overheat at the point where the auxiliary electrical fan would not kick in to avoid overheating. Electrical stability was at lost due to these present issues. Oddly enough the fan would actually run in reverse polarity pushing air out of the engine when it should be pulling the air in. While driving on a city street my car overheated causing me to break down, a thermostat issue could be present all of this occurred in motion.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw 330ci. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v428000 (air bags) and indicated that the dealer was unable to determine when the part would become available. The manufacturer was also contacted and was unable to determine when the part would become available to schedule the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Takata recallreceived notice of the safety recall for passenger's frontal air bag.excessive internal pressure could cause rupturing of the inflator resulting in metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the passenger seat occupant other occupants.i have called coggin's bmw, ft pierce, fl six times since then, and have been told "they are still awaiting air bag".going on two years, and have not gotten any satisfaction.

Dt the drivers air bagdeployed while driving.the consumer contacted the dealer. It was not under warranty and they could not do anything about it. This happened around may 31, 2005. Vehicle ended up off the road because it hit consumer in the head. Had headaches for a few days afterward.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw 330ci. The contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v428000 (air bags). However, the part needed was unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall part. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that an appointment was scheduled with bmw of south atlanta (4171 jonesboro rd, union city, ga 30291, (770) 969-0755). Upon arrival, the contact was informed that the parts were not available and they would arrive in six weeks, which was over three months ago. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact back to the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure. Pats distribution disconnect.

Driving down straight road and had to swerve right to avoid animal that ran suddenly into road. Road had no run-off before steep rocky drop to ditch 1-2 ft below. Right (passenger) side tires barely got into rocks, which bent both right side rims and punctured right side rear tire. Bottom of car bottomed out on edge of road with heavy bump, which somehow caused the drivers side door airbag and drivers side head protection airbag to deploy, but was able to pull car back up on road after rocky area leveled back up to road edge. I got out and inspected - rear bumper bottom was torn from sliding on edge of road, previously said tire damage was seen.seemed to be fairly minimal damage to the actual car, front bumper only has dirt and no damage. This was an impact hard enough to bend rims, but i do not believe the air bags should have deployed as the impact was from below the car.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw 330ci.while driving 15 mph on normal road conditons; the passenger air bag warning light indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. There were occupants in the front passenger seat. The failure occurred intermittently.the vehicle has not been repaired.the contact is aware of the safety risk.the failure mileage was 50,000.the current mileage was 73,000.updated 06/08/09updated 06/18/09.

The defective passenger airbag in a very minor crashblinded me even though i was properly wearing my seatbelt.

I was making a lane change in order to merge onto the freeway traffic. Without hitting any objects, unexpected deployment of the front side airbag (driver side) occurred. My head was hit by some flying objects from the deployment. Vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder and couldn't be started after that for almost 15 mins. Finally chp showed up and helped me to start my car so that i could drive it to local dealer. After few days of "investigation", the dealer decided it was not the fault of the airbag system. Instead, they blamed my rear tire on my passenger side causing the deployment. As a result, they refused to repair the vehicle under bmw's cost.

Dash indicated left taillight was out when it wasn't, this was random on and off for a few months. After a few months the dash panel indicator light stayed on. As i was driving one day i noticed the smell of smoke coming from the trunk. I stopped, and noticed the melted wires from the tail light harness. As i looked at them i could see them sparking when certain movements occurred., very dangerously and erratic. Both male and female sides melted. This is extremely dangerous as it impedes the ability to warn other drivers when turning or stopping.this was brought to the dealerships attention but they do not consider this an important enough issue to replace it as part of a recall or service recovery.

My vehicle in the last week has an tail light indicator illuminatedthe dash. Upon investigation of the part it looks to have the same issues as many have described with the ground wire being scorched.i contacted bmw na because of the similar recall on other bmw vehicles. Unfortunately they were unwilling to help unless i was willing to take the car into a dealership for an 90 dollar diagnosis. Only after that would they be willing to weigh in if they would be willing to cover the cost of the repair or not. This is not a gamble that i'm really willing to take. Recall nhtsa action number: pe09036 should be extend to the 2001 330ci bmws. Please open a investigation into this as it is a widely known issue with these cars.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw 330ci. While driving at 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition air lock needed to be removed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. The vin was not available.

Ground wire to twilights can't handle current and therefore blows out and triggers the light control module which makes the headlights flicker and die prematurely and causes lights on the dash that are in accurate

Left tail lights stopped working. Inspection found burnt ground wire at wiring connector.replacement of ground wire, connector and bulb holder assembly needed.

I was receiving a intermittent left tail light warning indicator and assumed it was a bulb that was going out. After some time had past i received a steady left tail light indicator and when i was about to replace the bulb i discovered the bulbs was fine and found the wiring/connector in the tail light bulb carrier had a short/melted.i believe this is the same issue/problem on the 2002-2005 bmw e46 3series which a tail light recall was issued.

2:00 pm i left greenwood village, co to go to a meeting at 49th and nome street. I arrived at my meeting in my bmw at approximately at 2:30 with no problems or indications of problems.4:00 pmi left the meeting. Then i smelled something with a distinct odor4:08 pmi drove onto east bound i-70 and continued on i-70 until the ramp to southbound i-225, approximately one mile or so.i was going about 55 mph and there was not much traffic at this time.my windows were rolled up and i had the radio on.i did not have any other electronic equipment on inside the car. The odor got a lot worse as i entered onto the ramp.smoke started to come out of the bmw front vents and then a flame came from under the steering wheel.i was now on i-225 heading southbound at about 55 miles per hour in the left hand lane.as i was moving over to the right hand lane the instrument panel lit up.a lot of smoke came out from all of the front vents, and especially the front defroster.i looked at the engine temperature light and it was normal.the automobile was running fine.i turned the car off.then more smoke started coming out of the vents.then, flames started coming out of the vents and front defroster.4:10 pmthe engine was still turned off.i got out of the car. Flames and black smoke went through the convertible roof straight up.4:20 pmthe aurora fire department and more aurora police came..they towed the car away to the impound lot.the investigator said maybe headlight control module is the problem.all work has been done at bmw service and nothing recent.car is totaled.no aftermarket accessories.

My car had been sitting unused since 6:00pm the previous day. At 6:30am i had entered my car parkedat pacific coast highway and anaheim street in long beach,ca. (which is a surface street). I started my car then drove a half of a block then stopped and turned off my car at the store 7/11. I went in made a purchase came out my car. I started my car and then left 7-eleven driving down anaheim about .2-.3 miles. I came to the light at anaheim street and park. Both surface streets. I was in the turn lane to turn left onto park. I began smelling somethingelectrical. The time was 6:40 am. I leaned my head out the window and could not smell the electrical smell outside. I discerned that this was coming from inside the car. There was no visible reason for the smell at this time.the light changed i turned left onto park. As i began to turn left white to grey smoke began coming out of the driver side vent which is lower by door and that faces the driver. I got out of my car. I ran over to another vehicle to see if they had a fire extinguisher. He said he would find it.i returned to my car and black smoke began rolling out of the drivers side door. Flames began engulfing the dashboard.two gentleman came over, one with a fire extinguisher and began spraying into the dashboard. The other gentleman went around to the trunk and disconnected the battery. The last time i had something done to the vehicle was bmw replacing the airbag for a recall. There was no reason for the fire.

The spark plugs and coils that where installed in my bmw at the bmw service centerdid not work proplerly or where installed properly they didn't even give me a warranty time frame it only ran 4,000 more miles since they did a service on it my car just stoped working it wouldn't turn on anymore i don't want this happening to anyone else they put my life at risk and anyone in the car with me or around it could have just stoped in the middle of the street but thankfully i was at a parking lot i just would like the bmw service center to be more cautious about what they do and to repair my car the right way they used parts that stoped working.

I was notified by a mechanic that my car's cooling system has a recall associated with it ... For several years i have had a problem with my car overheating and would simply put antifreeze in it and proceed.well my cooling system finally died on jan 23, 2009 on me and my mechanic informed me that i am eligible to have my car repaired by the dealer since they had a recall several years ago for my car's make/model.i contacted bmw to inquire about recall and citedfor them the issue that i am having as well as the recall numbers associated with it.i was told they wouldnt' fix my car and that i was ineligible for the recall(the recall #'s are: 02v138000 and 01v206000).

Auxiliary fan caught on fire afteril failure; this car was not part of the existing recall / recall needed to be expanded / this is a major safety hazard.

While traveling on the highway and without prior warning the vehicle stalled.the dealership is aware of the problem.*mrthe consumer states that the vehicle will occasionally stall while driving.(happens weekly)the consumer has taken the vehicle in for repairs, but they could not duplicate the problem.*scc

Left tail lights stopped working. Inspection found burnt ground wire at wiring connector.replacement of ground wire, connector and bulb holder assembly needed.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw 330ci. The contact stated that the headlights and tail-lights began flickering abnormally. The failure was recurring and often, the lights would appear to have weak illumination. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer stated that the ground wire for the taillight harness had a short and caused the headlights to blink constantly. The vehicle was repaired however, the headlights continued to repeatedly flicker on and off. The contact did not take the vehicle back to the dealer for further inspection or repairs. The failure mileage was 135,000.

There is a metal strap that supports the passenger side of the fuel tank. The bracket to which the forward end of this strap mounts to has broken free from the underbody. The strap and bracket seem to be in good shape. It's just the welds that hold the bracket to the underbody have broken. There is very minimal rust on the underbody components. It appears that the tack welds just failed. The local bmw dealership wanted $1200 to repair the issue after inspecting the vehicle.i then took it to a local auto body shop. They removed the tank and welded the bracket back in place.

Fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank off from the correct level. This cause drivers to assume that they still have gas but they really empty and if happens on highway can cause accidents and kill people. It happened to me going to the grocery store so it was on low speed so the car stopped and luckily the car behind kept distance and could stop without any accidents. Contact the dealer and independent bmw service reveal that it is a common issue on those years due to the failure of the fuel gage floaters ( there are 2 of them) but bmw decided not to recall them and fix the problem.

Arriving to my house driveway i started to hear a metal sound against the pavement. Immediately i looked under the car and on the rear passenger side there was a metal strap that holds the fuel tank hanging out.

Gas tank metal strap/brace weld came loose causing it to hang from bolt toward rear of the car located on the passenger side.

Car bmw 2001 330 ci-my gas tank strap broke off on the passenger side and starting dragging on the ground, creating a loud scraping noise. I immediately went to a shop specializing in bmw's, they said they just fixed one of these last week.the are custom welding on a brace for me.my bill is $500 plus for this crucial safety issue. I researched online and found this is a common issue, there should be a recall and the company should pay for the repair.

There is a metal strap that runs under the right gas tank and holds the gas tank to the car.one end is bolted. The other end is hooked to a bracket that is welded to the frame of the car.as i was getting off the freeway the 4 welds on the bracket failed.the complete strap and bracket assembly dragged on the road. This made a growling noise so loud that i had to pull over, get under the car to see what was happening.the right gas tank was now dangling from the car.this bracket failure should have never happened. This identical problem has happened to several others with the same car: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=669079.bmw should issue a recall and pay all affected parties for this repair.this is a dangerous and potentially life threatening flaw in this car.

Fuel tank retaining strap bracket broke free from under body leaving the tank hanging from the car on the passenger side. This is the second time this has happened.

While entering the freeway i heard a pop from under my car and immediately began to hear a loud metallic scraping sound coming from under my car as if i were dragging something.i immediately pulled off the freeway and found the metal bracket that holds the gas tank on the passenger side had come loose from an area where it had been spot welded to the underside of the car.this effectively caused the gas tank to loweritself a few inches off the ground.i had to have it towed to my home as it was unsafe to drive.

An accident occurred when i was driving on the highway. The metal strap that supports the passenger side of the fuel tank failed; the bracket to which the forward end of this strap mounts to, has broken free from the underbody. The strap and bracket seem to be in good shape but it's the welds that hold the bracket to the underbody has broken.when the bracket broke free from the underbody, it dropped to the ground while still attached to the strap and dragged on the road making a very loud metal-dragging-on-road screeching noise.the fuel tank now has dropped about 3 inches down almost touching the ground, the fuel tank could break into two if it drops all the way to the ground and spark a fire. This is a major safety issue, welds for fuel tank straps just do not randomly pop off from the car, what if i were in an accident and the fuel tank broke free and became punctured, i would be fried to a crisp.

On my 2001 bmw 330ci the passenger fuel tank trap hasbroken off. My fuel tank was hanging half way down almost touching the floor.

The bracket holding the strap that supports thegas tank on the passenger side broke off at the welds, leaving the gas tank hanging and the strap dragging on the ground.

The welds on the front strap that holds the gas tank in place broke while driving, resulting in gas tank dropping half way during driving. There is no other device holding the gas tank making the vehicle unsafe and inoperable.

While exiting the freeway at near freeway speeds, i heard a sudden thump, then the sound of something dragging on the ground beneath the car.i pulled over into a parking lot. Further inspection revealed that the 4 tiny spot welds and epoxy that fixes the passenger side fuel tank strap to the car had broken free, allowing the tank strap to drag on the ground and the fuel tank to come dangerously close to the road surface. I had just filled the tank.

Gas tank strap that holds up the gas tank tore off on the part that is supposed to be welded on the car. One end is bolted on, the other has a welded bracket. That bracket broke off and my gas tank and bracket were dragging until i pulled off of the road. Luckily the entire gas tank didnā€™t fall out because if it would have, the tank wouldā€™ve broke and caused a massive spill of gas, since the tank was full of fuel. There is no warning lamps for this, a weld shouldnā€™t just break off, and i canā€™t find any replacements to fix it or replace it at all.

Strap that suspends the fuel tank broke causing the fuel tank to hang and almost touch the ground. The vehicle was in motion at a slow rate of speed on a city street.

I went over a small speed bump while driving on a parking lot. Immediately after i started hearing this metallic rubbing noise as if i was dragging something behind a car. I stopped and inspected the underside & found a metal strip hanging & dragging on the pavement right next to the rear passenger side wheel. The metal brace was apparently there to restrain the fuel tank in place. The fully loaded fuel tank was hanging under the car just inches above the pavement. The car was undriveable so i had to get it towed to a shop. This seemed very dangerous defect as this could have easily happened at high speed on a highway where i may not even have heard the noise. At worst this loaded fuel tank could have leaked or fallen off the car starting a fire. The car is in shop at the moment & the repair estimate is in excess of $600. This seems to be a known issue with this make and model. I would like this issues addressed by the manufacturer & be reimbursed for the repair bill. Thank you

Support strap for gas tank broke off on passenger side and was dragging on ground. Vehicle was in residential area and made loud metal dragging noise.the welds broke away from the frame leaving the gas tank unsupported on passenger side.definite fuel fire hazardcar is now in driveway until repair.this is my commuter car and dealer should fix.how is a gas tank supported by welds that simply break?design flaw..

I have a 2001 bmw 330ci that i bought new.recently the door locks started to fail intermittently.when they would fail, you would only be able to use the key to manually unlock the doors.however, if you were inside the vehicle, you would be trapped because the doors could not be opened manually no matter what you did from inside the car.you could power down the window and give your key to someone to use it to manually unlock the car from the outside.the dealer told me that the computer door lock control unit was defective and would cost $680 to replace it.i believe that for safety reasons you should always be able to escape your vehicle from inside even if the computer fails.should this happen if there is a fire or if your end up in a the water you would never be able to get out of the car.you are trapped inside.

The contact owns a 2001 bmw ci. The contact stated that the vehicle would not go into reverse. The contact was told by a mechanic that the d-clutch drum had failed and caused the failure. The engine would exhibit an abnormal increase in engine rpms but the vehicle would not move. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The failure and current mileage was 50,000.

My transmission, will not work in reverse. The car just revs, and goes nowhere. This is a common problem, and still bmw does not recall these cars. 4200.00 plus labor, for a remanufactured one from dealer. I am done with bmw.

In motion transmission down shifts, clunk then exclamation point appear next to dashboard gear indicator.1st gear disappears-therefore dangerously slow takeoff speed.

I bought a 2001 bmw 330cic [xxx] in oct. Of 2003 from a private person. Before i bought the car i paid ~$200 to a bmw dealer and got it checked for major problems because the car had ~ 53k miles on itand they said no problems. Hence i went and bought the car from this private owner. Just after 2 months i had to replace the front control bushings that cost me about ~$500 and after another 2 months the power steering pump went bad. I paid about $800 for the replacement and parts. Now just a few days ago the car stopped driving in reverse. I have no problems going forward and using the streptronic transmission (a/t). Now the car has 64k miles and i took it to the dealer. They charged me $100 to tell me that the transmission is burnt up by looking at the transmission fluid. The dealer is asking for ~ $4100 for a new transmission installed.i have called the 800 number and the response that i am getting is that bmw will not cover this.but i have issues with that approach; 1.as a new owner i am at a loss because i am not entitled for goodwill just because the previous owner used it. This is unfortunate since i put my trust in bmw and paid a handsome price for the car. (transmission is a major problem especially if it brakes at mere 64k miles).2. The transmission is supposed to last in excess of 20000 miles, but becomes dysfunctional at a mere 64000 miles (product quality)3.from what i can understand there is something wrong in the transmission which is causing the reverse gear not to work butthat obviously does not mean that the whole transmission has gone bad. I am sure that this is definitely not the impression or experience that bmw wants me to have! please suggest or advise me what to do. The car is still with the dealer (united bmw of roswell, ga phone:- 678-832-4600 bmw customer relation phone:- 1-800-831-1117thanks, [xxx]. Reverse gear does not work. I started my car let it idle for 3-5 minutes since the temperature outside was cold. I shifted into reverse gear, and nothing happened. I had just parked the car approximately 2 hours earlier. There was no indication prior to this incident that there was a problem with the transmission. On the next morning i called the local bmw dealership and explained what had happened. They stated that i needed to replace the transmission. How can you determine that from a phone conversation, i wondered. I pushed the car out of my garage and proceeded to a mechanic. When i completed my dialogue of what had occurred he responded that i was number 4 for him this year. A replacement transmission cost between $3k - $5k. I returned home and began my unofficial internet research...i am not alone and bmw of na is doing nothing to address the manufacturer's defect. I consider this a safety issue. Suppose i was 100s of miles away or if i was in a position where i need to use reverse to get out of harms way and it did not work. As other bmw owners have stated, at least my chevy or ford used to tell me that it was sick and needed some attention. Bmw has no maintenance requirement for this transmission. I am assuming that they think it is replace upon failure. Unacceptable, the part that failed is called the drum. A band beaks and the reverse gear is broken. They have modified the materials in the newer drums to alleviate the problem . That tells me that they are aware that the material they installed in my vehicle was inadequate. I have not repaired the vehicle at this time still shopping around for options. This is a safety issue and a recall is warranted.

Lost the ability to drive reverse , i searched on the internet it was a lot of compliant about bmw transmission especially the model 5hp19 zf ,there is even a website called noreverse.org where thousands of complaint about this model . Bmw wont acknowledge the issue , and we definitely need an action.

Transmission would intermittently shift without warning. Vehicle been todealer, but problem still reoccurring.feel free to provide any further information.

Hello, i am the owner of a 2001 bmw 330cic. Yesterday, my car lost the ability to drive in "reverse" once the car is shifted into that gear.while searching the internet, i found that this is a very common failure for this transmission model, and was thus led to this website to file a complaint.my car is equipped with a "zf-5hp19" model transmission. From what i gather this transmission commonly has this failure.1. No events leading up to failure.2. My car suddenly lost the ability to drive in "reverse"3. Since this happened yesterday, i a searching for solutions.

I have a 2001 bmw 330 ci with 116k miles. I put the car in reverse and it would not go into reverse. There were no warning signs that indicated that something could be wrong with the car. My mechanic told me that i have to get a new transmission and would cost approximately $4000. I went to the consumer affairs website and discovered that many consumers reported the same issue. I would like to know how bmw is addressing this common issue and identify if there are any class action lawsuits.

Bmw 2001 330ci.reverse gear failed and inoperable (acts like neutral and does not engage) allowed vehicle to roll backwards down hill before i (the operator) noticed i was moving.could not use engine throttle to control speed as it was like it was in neutral.vehicle only has 75k miles on 'no service' automatic transmission.

1. Vehicle was working fine2. Will not go into reverse3. Need rebuilt transmission $3,500.00.

2001 bmw 330ci power steering assist fails bmw has several that shaft breaks at any time any speed rendering the car inoperable impossible to steerespecially people with arthritis(wife) ; reversing out of drive way 4 mpg.

While driving, the steering shaft failed causing consumer to lose control of vehicle and crash into a parked car.dealer found the vehicle was bottomed out which caused the steering shaft to break/shatter, letter is written by clarence ditlow from the center of auto safety, consumers name was not given.

Consumer was pulling out of driveway, made a slight turn, and vehicle hit a parked car, consumer has contacted dealership.

Subframe failure in 2001 e46 330ci, rear subframe tearing near spare tire storage and mounts. Nothing was done to correct the problem and i was basiclly told to go screw myself by bmwna.

While driving down a local road, the fuel tank strap of my 2001 bmw 330ci suddenly broke off. It failed at the weld points. The fuel tank did remain in tact. I brought it to the local dealership and bmw repaired it. Please note that other similar incidents have been reported on bmw internet forums.

The rubber or seals around my windshield has deteriorated badly as well as side windows to. It should be the company's responsibilty to repair this problem as so many other bmw owners have the same issue it's an obvious defect for this model. Also the clear coat of the paint on this model has peeled really bad. If so many people are having these issues it's an obvious recall. I will not buy another bmw. Take care of your customers. 2001 bmw 330 ci

Door relay system malfunction causes door to be inoperable, closed and locked. Potentially deadly if trapped in vehicle.

1. Normal driving.2. Sub-frame failure causing major clanking in and large undue stress on drive train.the drivetrain is likely to fail.dealership not helping.pervasive problem with this make and model.well documented in bmw forums.3. The dealer does not admit the problem.may cost many owners thousands to repair.there was a european recall for this issue.

Subframe failure in 2001 e46 330ci, rear subframe tearing near spare tire storage and mounts. Nothing was done to correct the problem and i was basiclly told to go screw myself by bmwna.

Rear subframe cracked despite normal driving.

After only 39,000 miles of very gentle driving, the front lower control arm bushings are scrap on my 2001 bmw 330ci. Symptom show up as a jerk on the steering wheel when brakes are quickly applied. Front wheels can also be observed from outside of the vehicle by an onlooker moving within the wheel well when vehicle gets rolling and brakes are applied and then released. Apparently this is a well known high wear area. Intend to claim from bmw even though vehicle is outside of warranty period.

Right front control arm came loose on my 2001 bmw 330ci.had complained for the last three years to dealer (vob bmw - rockville, md) concerning abnormal jerk of car when coming to stop.dealer insisted that car was functioning as designed.finally took car to independent bmw garage (bmw excluservice - rockville, md), and informed that right front control arm was loose, and was told that there was possibility right front tire could come off.took car to dealer where they replaced control arms with redesigned 2004 model year control arm.bmw refused for the last three years to acknowledge this problem, which could have led to a fatal car accident.i had to take the car to an independent garage to have the problem properly diagnosed.i would imagine this problem is happening to other cars if they had to redesign the control arms.i would think there should be a government mandated recall for this. (i.e. Possibility of wheels coming off). *la

Tires arelosing pressure. There isrecalloov303000o forsame probelm, butconsumer's vehicleis not included. After takingvehicle intodealertires went flat.dealer was blaming consumer for that problem.but, consumer knew thattires were not like when he tookthemin. Dealer claimed three out of four tires had punctures in them and needed repair, the tires were plugged, consumer states tires are still losing pressure, consumer has replaced tires at his expense and states the tires still lose air even though they have been taken off the vehicle, michelin pilot sport, p245/40r17 and p225/45r17, dot number f36c.

Consumer states there is possible design flaw with the rims or continential tires, due to tires deflating at high speeds.

Yesterday, 12/12/15, my reverse stopped working while at the gas station. It only revved when i attempted to use the reverse gear to move closer to a pump. I'm retired and need this car for my only source of getting around. And yesterday was my 73rd birthday. Recent cost to fix the car to pass smog tests cost: $2900 and 7 months without the car.
