Takata recall. Called bmw and they said the parts still are not available yet to fix the recall. It's been over a year. This is not acceptable.
Restraint system faulty warning came on
Code is coming up for passenger seat occupancy sensor which possibly affects airbag deployment in the event of a collision.it has been noted that the passenger seat occupancy sensor has been a part of prior bmw for 2008 and earlier.
Car has a passenger restraint system error. This appears to be a very common problem. Warning comes on as soon as the car is started until the vehicle is shut down. The airbag may or may not deploy in the event of a crash.
I have an airbag warning and i was told that my car year make and model has an airbag recall. Many mechanics that specialize in bmw models keep telling me the same thing,.
Airbag system fault due to occupancy seat sensor p/n 65779153119. This sensor is used on bmw e90, e91, e92, e93 models from 2006-2012. Bmw recalled only 2006 and 2007 models in 2014( recall notice 17v428) then revised in 2017 to include more vehicles. In addition, they issued a sb -10056703-9690 in 2017 to extend warranty to 15 years for this sensor. Since the exact sensor is fitted on vehicles from 2006-2012, and numerous individuals have reported the fault, i believe my e93 should be covered in the recall or the 15 year extended warranty. Based on research, many people have resorted to a bypass device. This extinguishes the fault but presents an issue if the front seat passenger is an infant/or under 40 pounds. Airbags will deploy in case of an accident and death/ serious injury is possible.
Vehicle needs an airbag replacement, and two electrical components fixed. One of those electrical components may lead to the car overheating which is extremely dangerous and a fire hazard. *dti have called the bmw roseville, ca dealership multiple times and they do not answer. I am concerned because i commute for work and i also drive around my pregnant wife and my 5 year old daughter.
The vehicle brings up a warning light on the dash indicating that the passenger airbag is disabled due to seat occupancy, even though i have a passenger sitting in the passenger seat. This happens at all times. This is a safety concern because in the case of an accident, the car would not deploy the passenger airbag.
Takata recall not complete
Takata recallmy bmw dealer/service center in mountain view, ca states that they do not have the e92 airbags to replace my defective airbag.they tell me it will take months to get a new airbag.i would like the nhtsa to contact bmw about this matter and encourage them to make this a top priority.i've been driving around with this defective part long enough, and bmw has a responsibility to act swiftly to reassure owners that they are on top of this.i would ultimately like my dealer to contact me with the part asap and have this repair completed.

2009 bmw 328i.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair air bag recall notice.updated 04/11/2017
Seat occupancy detector faulty.passenger airbag light came on so took to bmw dealer.(as an aside this occurred shortly after (wi 3-4 months) air bag replaced due to takata airbag recall).told related to seat mat sensor, which was under/in passenger seat.not told that could disable front air bag.not told that multiple bmw models including 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 models have same defect, including the 3 series, and the 328i model, and the 5 series, and in particular, models with climate or sport seat (like mine).told replacement cost well over $1,000. Declined service thinking it was just a defective seatbelt notice issue (and seatbelt worked), not realizing impacted safety.when air bag light continued to stay on and came on more frequently, took car to a non-bmw repair shop for a second opinion, which told me this is a very common issue with bmws and that defect prevents passenger air bag from deploying.called bmw dealership back and restated what other repair shop had said and this time service person told me may be subject to recall, but when he looked up vin number this particular model not included.this time bmw service person also told me that issue will deactivate air bag deployment.bmw refused to repair without charging full amount.called bmw customer relations and services at bmw usa to complain and while acknowledging all of these issues with other models/years claimed they could not assume the same issue occurring here.really???this is an issue that can significantly increaserisk of injury in the event of a crash.bmw is aware of the issue and refuses to do anything about it. Shame on bmw.

" takata recall " :i remember the moment my car accident happened ( 7-18-17 ) :when i arrived del mar pharmacy's parking lot ([xxx] ), absolutely i slowed down my car and approaching the parking space. When my car 's front tires touch one side of the pavement ( there are 2 pavements separated apart about 3 feet with soil where are planted with flowers, each pavement is approximately 1/2 foot thick and 1/2 foot high ). While i stepped on my car's brake pedal, i felt the car suddenly lose control and it jumped on my side's pavement, and almost at the same time, both air bags burst, made the car ran over to almost a half of the distance between 2 pavements ( about more than 2 feet ) andhitting the rear of another parking car ( on opposite side of my car's parking space ( lot ).i didn't know what reason had made the braking system didn't function well, then the car jumped on the pavement, and both air bags suddenly burst, made the car madly jump over to another side of parking space ( opposite side ) and made the accident serious ( 1 car's rear almost was crashed, another car's rear on the other side of parking space was hit by this car' s head . Finally, the police came to make the report, and my car was towed away to my friend's parking lot. After 1 week, i called the repair shop which fixed my car's brake system in june. Now it is still there, and waiting for bmw investigating more than 3 weeks already, but still without any resultif you still have any questions, please just email me. I will do my best to explain every detail.sincerely, yours : [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

We bought the car in 2009, at the time the milleage only around 30000 miles, on 12-1-2012 air bag and seat belt light on. We brought to bmw dealer, the service tech stated that we have to pay certain amount of money to diagnose it, to change both of it will cost us thousands of dollars. Until today we still have they same problems because we can not afford it. I got some information from other people that many owners of bmw have the same problems. I am concerned with my daughter's life. She use the car, we just hope nothing will happen to her. I would like you to please replace our car problems. Thank you.

My passenger airbag off and seatbelt warning lights are constantly lit up on both the dash and the airbag light on the roof.this began a couple months ago one day when i started the car and has been constant since.i brought my car in to be diagnosed and was told that i have a faulty passenger occupancy sensor, and was quoted $1,100 to repair.it has come to my attention that there was a recall on this sensor in many 2004-2007 bmw vehicles including the 328i, just not my year.i have seen a large number of complaints online by other owners of the same problem that also feel that our vehicles should be included in the recall of a faulty part that is damaging to the safety and general functioning of the vehicle.we have all already just had to wait for over a year to have the takata recall done, mine is just now being completed.i am very disappointed in the safety functions of bmw as well as their handling of such issues, and wish to have additional vehicles outside of those three years included seeing as it is the same exact faulty sensor that affects those cars. I believe that not doing so would warrant a legal claim and following class action lawsuit if bmw continues to refuse and ignore claims on this issue.
Tamara recall: recall on battery terminal; air bag; blower motor; heat valve: recall 10/27/17:notified dealer: no parts available for any recall; don't know when will be available. Wait you will receive information by mail when available.

The contact mentioned that the failure occurred even when the passenger seat was occupied. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,000.
The seat air bag sensor mat has failed the airbag light stays on.the 2006 to 2008 models were recalled for this exact problem but not the 2009.thos is a serious safety issue because the air bag will not deploy on the passenger side with a faulty sensor.contacted bmw will not repair unless you pay full price.this is a joke because the repair is 1500 dollars or more, the car only has 77000 miles and has been well taken care of. A recall should be issued because this a serious and common problem which is very expensive to repair and is a horrible design.
Sensor warning states passenger airbag and passenger seatbelt is not on.
Takata recall- i was notified in march 2016 that my airbags are defective, i have calledbaron bmw in overland park, ks the status & have been told it would be a couple of months. That was last september. It is now almost 1 year from my notice & bmw has not done anything. I have also emailed the cust serv. For bmw with no response.
Air bags failed to deploy in a accident causing injury*dsy *dt
I see there was a previous recall for earlier models involving the seat occupancy sensor mats cracking.my 2009 bmw 328i convertible car now has the warning airbag and seatbelt light on if anyone is in the passenger seat.this occurs whether or not i am driving or not.i had my car scanned and the error code is 93c3 passenger seat occupancy detector.i am now concerned if airbag and seatbelt will work in case of collision
The right front passenger seat occupant protection sensor mat is defective and causes the passenger side airbag to be deactivated. Research has shown that this is a very common problem with bmw...recalls were issues for previous years (2006-2007) but did not cover 2009. Information available indicates this is still an issue that should have been addressed by previous recall/replacement initiatives.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The front right passenger air bag and seat belt warning lights are on, indicating that the passenger air bag and seat belt was not used. This occurred even when passenger seat was occupied. The manufacturer was made aware of this failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. This is unsafe... The passenger seat is occupied. Bmw need a recall on this problem.
It started happening here and there, while no one is in the passenger seat, it is saying seat belts need to be on and an airbag light, after a little while of driving the airbag light sometimes goes off but seat belt light will stay on. Even when someone is in the seat with their seat belt on - both of those lights are on seat belt and airbag. I'm scared if i get in an accident the airbags wont deploy. I'm also seeing i'm not the only bmw with this issue. Why is there no recall when this can cost someone their life. No cars airbag system should just go.

While driving at about 26mph, i heard and felt two loud cracks on my left side of the car.immediately after, my car slouched on the left-hand side, the vehicle stopped suddenly and both airbags deployed.i was knocked out for a while and when the authorities arrived, we investigated the area and noticed that there was no collision with anything or anyone, other than both of my two left-side rims were cracked radially and there was damage to the suspension.in addition, the authorities confirmed there were no potholes, obstacles, or any other object that could have produced the incident.

Drivers side airbag was recalled in march 2016. Called and emailed repeatedly to see when i could get the airbag fixed, and was continuously told that the parts were not available. It is now october (7 months later) and the airbag has still not been replaced. This is a major safety hazard and completely unacceptable.

"takata recall" i have a complaint filed regarding an electrical issue i had with my vehicle which resulted in a motor vehicle crash (nhtsa id number: 10781956. My car was equipped with takata airbags, 4 of 6 airbags deployed. The airbag from the driver side caused injuries to my face and arm. I received a recall letter from bmw 4 months after the accident that resulted in the need for physical therapy due to the injuries to my arm and shoulder from the impact of the airbag, which also cut my forearm. The steering wheel on my vehicle froze while driving and in my attempt to get the wheel to turn, my brakes also failed. I had both arms covering the wheel to try and get it to budge. The only way my vehicle stopped was because i crashed into a car waiting at the opposite light. Both arms were covering the airbag at the time it deployed.
Air bag light has came on, when i was backing up, i hit a garbage can. Iwas told it was the front driver side but no air bag deployed
I'm having the same issue in https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2014/mc-10148018-9999.pdf but in my 2009 bmw, which is not covered under the current recall.

I was driving on when my car caught fire. The fire broke out inside the cabin, directly behind the rear passenger-side seat. I believe this fire could have been easily avoided if the sonnen bmw service department had performed their job more diligently. A week before the fire, i began to smell a burning rubber odor when i turned on my heater/defroster. I immediately drove the car to sonnenbmw.the service advisor responded that it was notbmw's problem.i brought the car back into bmw for service.i also mentioned repeatedly that i smelled burning rubber whenever i turnedon the heater/defroster. Bmw kept the car for a week. Apparently, because i mentioned the heater, bmw got fixated on looking for theproblem within the heating ducts and never thought to check theelectrical system. After having the car for a week, they told me that they haddetermined that the cause of the odor was a leaf that had gottensucked into the blower assembly. They charged me $320 to open theassembly and clean out the leaves. When i picked up the car iinsisted to speaking with one of the servicemanagers, as this made no sense to me. I pointed out that burningleaves do not smell like burning rubber, and i doubted this was thecause of the problem. The service manager insisted that they wereunable to find anything else wrong with the vehicle and that, aftercleaning out the blower assembly, they were unable to duplicate theissue. It is apparent to me that bmw never once turned on the defrosterduring the whole time they had the car'even though i indicated thatthis was part of the issue. If they had, they would have immediatelyreplicated the issue and known that it had nothing to do with leaves inthe blower. Rather then apologizing, the assistant managerimmediately tried to shift the blame be stating that we told them theodor was coming from the heating ducts.

On my 2009 bmw 328i the rear right turn signal began blinking fast and an error code came on saying i needed to replace rear turn signal, i researched it to find out that they have been several service bulletins out about the rear turn signals getting corrosion. I called the dealer and they stated it was out of warranty and they would not pay to fix it. They stated they knew the service bulletins were out but it was not a recall. After further searching i found out the older models had a recall to fix this issue. If they know they have an issue then why don't they fix it.

I beganexperiencing trouble with my 2009 bmw 328i sedan as early as january 2017. The air conditioner would sometimes go on and at other times it wouldn't go off .i was experiencing the same problems with the heater. Shortly after my car began to overheat and stall out.it would hold back until i was in 4th gear, ifi even made it that far before dying out. It began to sound like a old vw. L reached out to my local bmw service dept. For repairs. I was told that the problems my vehicle was having,.was not under recall by bmw at that time. And that any repairs done to my vehicle would have to come out of pocket. At the time it wasn't an option. I had the repairs done at a local independent auto repair shop.11 months later i began experiencing the exact same problems all over again. Since february 2018 i have been reaching out for assistance to repair my vehicle defects which are now under recall by bmw , with no success. I've attached an outlined history of my contact with bmw customer relations.my vehicle remains stationary at my place of residences, awaiting a phone approval bybmw customer relations to bmw roadside assistance.for towing.
While driving on the interstate, i accelerate and without warning, dashboard lights up with "service engine soon" and various other lights, power steering goes out, and i have to maneuver car across lanes of oncoming traffic to a safe shoulder. I turn on hazards, remove key and wait several minutes. The car turns over but doesn't start. I wait longer, turn off hazards, re-insert key and car starts up. I am able to continue driving, but avoid hard throttle. This happened 2 months ago, and i took it to a licensed mechanic who diagnosed as faulty fuel pump and replaced it. The car then had vacuum leak followed by a complete replacement of valve cover. The issue i experienced on the interstate was identical to what occurred before those repairs were done and bears a striking resemblance to issues described in the 2013 battery cable recall, yet my vin # is not included.

I took my car into eastbay bmw for a lightbulb change (a tail/brakelight) and the technician noticed the housing of the taillight is melting on both sides, not just the one that needed a light bulb change.he mentioned it was part of a recall and then the representative said, that my car wasn't included in the recall.bmw has stated that it probably isn't the light bulb and that even though this isn't something that i have caused, that they are not responsible.they agreed that this is a faulty part, but is not covered under any recall or warranty.bmw offered to pay half the repairs which my responsibility is $475, which seems like they are admitting some fault in the matter.i have called bmw customer relations and the representative [xxx] said she isn't willing to escalate the issue because she knows it won't go anywhere.in addition, i did some research and there were over 241,000 bmw's recalled for this same reason that the cars were older than mine and out of warranty.since this is occurring on both sides and not just one, it seems that part, the electrical receptacle is producing too much heat on both sides and therefore melting the taillight which is a major safety issue and should be considered part of another recall & therefore fixed at no cost to the consumer.thankyou.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

On my wife's 2009 bmw 328i the rear right turn signal quit working, i researched it to find out that they have been several service bulletins out about the rear turn signals getting corrosion. I called the dealer and they stated it was out of warranty and they would not pay to fix it. They stated they knew the service bulletins were out but it was not a recall. After further searching i found out the older models had a recall to fix this issue. If they know they have an issue then why don't they fix it.

The car has had a strong smell of melting plastic coming from the air flow in the vehicle. It has happened over the course of 3 weeks and not sure what the melting plastic is coming from. It happens when the car is in motion and especially worse when the heater is on.
While making a left turn, to proceed up the street leaving work, several malfunction lights displayed on the dash and than my car shuts down completely; no inside nor outside lights (it was dark outside), no dings or anything. I thought maybe i needed a jump. Called a co-worker before he left work, whom also has a bmw. He said it was not a jump i needed and proceeded to go in the trunk to locate my battery. As soon as he was able to remove the plastic screws and wiggle the panel, trying to get it from under the wall panels that was holding it in place, all my lights came back on. However, a restraint system malfunction light remained on the dash. Thank god i was driving at a low speed and on a residential street, no cars around me nor had i made it to the hwy to head home, some 30 minute ride. I don't want to think of what could have happened! the restraint system malfunction is said to have something to do with the passenger side and the airbag. I feel i am driving in a very unsafe high costing vehicle, and either way, i, my passenger or someone else could seriously get hurt with this car on the road with these issues.

The battery connections in the rear compartment have completely corroded.my mechanic has told me this is a common issue with many bmw series not just the 3 series.water seepage appears to be a specific problem with failures to rubber gaskets in the trunk/rear lights in this convertible.the repair is $2,000.00 as the entire cable system must be replaced to the engine an 11 hour job.this is a well known issue but not acceptable from a car that has been garaged its entire life.this should be investigated as many consumers are paying an enormous bill due to bad design, workmanship and engineering. The dx occurred after much investigation and the inability to start the car for 2 weeks after $300.00 worth of repairs (new battery, starter, relay switch) the mechanic told me that we were lucky there was not a fire as the both main cables were arcing at the connection point.

Purchased the car used appx 4 months ago with just under 25k miles.last week while driving in traffic appx 45 - 50 mph the car started to skip and lose forward power.while waiting for a tow truck the car just lost all electrical power as well.i could hear relays clicking but nothing worked.at the shop (non-bmw) to be evaluated i had to purchase a new battery (this replaced the original).final evaluation was that the fuel pump needed to be replaced which i have now paid for out of pocket.i am afraid that there is some electrical issue lurking as well, but so far the car is driving well.since i purchased the car used i was not aware of any recalls but now i have searched by vin andfound the recall on the battery cable and have that scheduled.29,520 miles is too soon to need a fuel pump replacement!

My car has been having serious issues. Over heating, smoking uncontrollably, unable to use air/ heat conditioning due to toxic smoke coming through vent. Lights signal, check engine light, and brake light will not turn off. Ifear for my life and have been car pulling due to my car issues. I feel as though, my car is at risk of catching on fire. The car has even shut off 5 times due to the excessive smoke. In was told by mechanic that i would only need to pressure wash the engine and it should be fine. I have had to pull over by the highway. I have wastedseveral dollars due to this matter with my car. Its pains me deeply that i'm having these issues with my car. I have worked very hard to get it. I'm at a loss for words with this matter.
I beganexperiencing trouble with my 2009 bmw 328i sedan as early as january 2017. The air conditioner would sometimes go on and at other times it wouldn't go off .i was experiencing the same problems with the heater. I was driving my 2009 bmw 328i sedan on the highway during peak morning office hour (~ 07:45 am cst) on august 24th 2017 when all of a sudden the steering control started behaving weird. The steering wheel was not staying straight. It was going to the extreme left and right resulting in the car going all over the lanes by itself. I was scared and panicked at this sudden behavior of the car. Ultimately i hit the brakes and the car seemed to get back to control. I pulled over to the shoulder and got the car towed to my home. Note that the car was not driven for a month as i was on vacation. I am thankful to god that i am safe and didn't hit or get hit by another car!
I am trying to review if my car is eligible for a recall evaluation.
We pulled into a parking space, my husband had his foot on the brake and the car surged up a curb, hit a sign and then hit a lamp post and the car went up the cement block.i don't remember much more, but ther insurance totaled the car and i suffered from brain trauma and 3 back disks.

I received a safety recall from bmw in 11/17 for a blower motor wiring. I called my bmw dealer today, and they say they still don't have the parts to fix this. Why does it take over 6 mos to fix a recall?
I was driving on a busy highway between 70-80 mph. The engine stalled and i was unable to press the gas. I managed to get the car off on an exit due to momentum. After sitting in a parking lot for 30 minutes, the car cranked back up without any issue. The stalling issue has occurred twice.

I had a low battery issue on my 2009 bmw 328i about 3 months after i had it serviced for a battery cable recall at motorwerks bmw dealer in bloomington, mn.motorwerks diagnosed that the alternator was not working properly and needed to be replaced.i had tires plus replaced the alternator and battery for half the price compared to motorwerks.unfortunately, the aftermarket alternator that tires plus installed caused my car to over heat because it was over charging.i eventually took my car back to motorwerks to replace the alternator and battery.i emailed the service consultant if it was normal for the original alternator to malfunction so quickly on a 2009 bmw 328i.i also informed him that i had my car serviced at motorwerks for a battery cable recall in march 2013 and asked him if it was possible that the original alternator issue was related with fixing the battery cable.he strangely has not answered my question which makes me wonder if they are not taking responsibility for the original bad alternator if it was related to the battery cable recall service.i'm also wondering if other 2009 3 series bmw owners had a low battery issue due to a bad alternator after having their cars serviced for the battery cable recall in march 2013.if the original alternator issue is found to be related while servicing the battery cable recall then i would like to get a full refund for their service on my new alternator and battery. Thank for taking the time to investigate my car issue.

I have had to replace 2 ignition coils in less than a year. #1. Was told by warrenty co thatthere is also a tsb (technical service bulletin) from bmw recognizing a problem with the brand of coils (bosch) that were installed from the factory, & they want shops to replace them with an upgraded brand (delphi). There is obviously a problem with these ignition coils. Who is responsible to pay for changing them out?

I purchased a 2009 bmw 238i. I took it to get an oil change on 30 sept 11. I dropped it off, got a loaner, and went to work.before i dropped it off that morning the car ran great, it had no ticking, no engine lights nor loss of power. I hadn't heard from bmw so i called them, they said that they had talked to bmw na and i need to agree to them removing my valve cover, at my expense $700.i said that i only wanted an oil change.he told me they terminated my warranty.my warranty was for 4yr/50,000 miles, it had not expired. I was very upset and made multiple attempts to call bmw na and the supervisor told me that they would have to go with what the service center said and there was no one else to talk to.disappointed, i picked my car up.the check engine light came on and while i was on the highway the car made some loud ticking noises and the car seemed to be experiencing some power loss, in the mist of high traffic. I was in the middle lane when it started and i immediately got over to got off the highway.and as i pulled off the highway the car suddenly shut off (no power), i barely made it off the road.it just shut off!i had to call for a tow.that weekend the car cranked up and it seemed to be nothing wrong.i took it around the block to see if it was okay.the ticking returned and the car shut off again and i had to coast it off the road onto church grounds and call a tow truck again.and now it will not crank at all. This is my only car and i have to rent a car.i did some research online and found several recalls, for example: bmw high-pressure fuel pump voluntary emissions recall and voluntary emissions and safety recalls and tons of complaints about safety and how bmw terminates a lot of people's warranties prior to their expiration date. Bmw seems to be putting all of our lives at risk and terminating warranties at will.
Soon after purchasing my 2009 bmw 328i (with a manual transmission), i had the dealer install bmw customized 328i rubber floor mats.the mats have a fitted slot for the gas pedal and anchors to prevent them from moving after installation. Unfortunately, the length of the mat on the driver's side is too short for a vehicle with manual transmission.when you depress and release the clutch, it catches the top edge of the mat and lifts it up, covering the clutch and the brake pedal.when you put your foot back down, you end up stepping on the mat, partially depressing the brake and/or clutch while the car is in gear and moving.i've taken the vehicle back to the dealer several times to have them adjust the installation but they can only move it a few inches because of the gas pedal slot, so the problem wasn't fixed.i don't drive this vehicle very often but last month (9/2012) i finally got fed up and contacted bmw to let them know their rubber mat design has a safety flaw and that i was filing a complaint with nhtsa.they recorded my complaint but said there would be no additional follow-up.so, for safety reasons, i have now removed the driver's mat from the vehicle.
Vehicle was purchased used from dealer with faulty right rear turn signal.upon researching, there is a tsb on this issue and models built prior to mine were the subject of a recall.this is a recurring issue on this model and it is affecting vehicles manufactured after bmw claims to have fixed the issue, resulting in undue hardship to owners.the replacement part, which bmw won't make available for purchase, has to be replaced by the dealer at a cost of over $500 on average.

Right rear turn signal malfunctioning
On my wife's 2009 bmw 328i the rear right turn signal quit working, i researched it to find out that they have been several service bulletins out about the rear turn signals getting corrosion. I called the dealer and they stated it was out of warranty and they would not pay to fix it. They stated they knew the service bulletins were out but it was not a recall. After further searching i found out the older models had a recall to fix this issue. If they know they have an issue then why don't they fix it.

My situation is power supply related, my headlights and part of my cluster display cash board began flickering, making an electrical noise and with the switch on off possition the lights did not want to tuirno off. I notice this on around june of 2018, i was driving on my way home from eating pizza, smell something like burn plastic, i asked my wife do you smell something like burn rubber?, she said yes but were is it coming from?, i paid not much mind to this later when i got home i smelled it again, lfelt the car some what hot but the samel was not strong so i paid no min, after a few weeks i had to change a water hose then another water hose, the when i tuern the car off the lights on the car and the triangle hazard light did not want to turn off even with the light switch on the of possition. My 2009 328i bmw was left at the autorized bmw service center in guaynabo, p.r. On the 18th of augost 2018 and is still at this service station but always come with an excuse to what the problem is, i know its recall related because its an electrical situation but the advisor at the servicice center always says its not recall related, at first they said they fixed the light probnlem but the noise continiued and that the noise came from the radios amplifier, then they said it came from tyhe cars fuse box, noe they say its the carscas but tha this is not recall related, i told them that if this cas is the codified key entry that this should be recal;l related because its a power supply component and thats an electrical part so its recall related, they said its not related but that they have sent for the part and would be arriving on the 2ed of november of 2018 and they will inform me when the part arrives and that they are going to pay for the part and the service.

The engine shut down while driving in traffic.only after disengaging the key and waiting about 30 minutes, the vehicle can start up again.if the problem is not addressed, this event will happen within about a day to a week.i drove the vehicle daily on my commute to work.this problem has always occurred on my return trip in the afternoon.the error codes that showed up were: a generic code for the fuel pump, fuel module control voltage too high, and fuel module control current too low.after two trips to weatherford bmw, the problem was tentatively solved.on my first visit, they misdiagnosed the problem to be that the fuel module control voltage was out of calibration.they supposedly recalibrated it, test drove it, and solved the problem.they charged me the $210 diagnostic fee because they claimed this was not a warranty issue.however, the same problem occurred the next day on my afternoon commute.after bringing my car back to them.they diagnosed the problem to be a faulty fuel pump control module (ekps module).the repair was covered under the sulev warranty for bmw vehicles with the n51 engine.they did not charge me this time, but they refused to credit the charge on my first visit, saying that they would have had to recalibrate the voltage anyway.i contended that the faulty module caused the voltage to be out of calibration and that a functional replacement module would have brought the voltage back within specification, and that if they had just replaced the module on my first visit that they would not have had to recalibrate the voltage.however, weatherford bmw insisted on not refunding the charge for the first visit, and i have filed a claim with my credit card company to dispute the charge.
The vehicle was parked but still running.an error message "fuel pump failure" popped up on screen and the "check engine light" turned on; the car turned off.the car has not been able to restart.it should be noted that i took the car in for service less than two weeks prior.
While driving in the passing lane on us 101 at a busy time with many trucks approaching the cuesta grade, my fuel pump failed.it was extremely dangerous trying to drift a dead car to the shoulder while avoiding collisions.six (6) months later, the fuel pump controller failed under almost identical highway conditions at a spot about 10 miles south of the first failure.the controller failure yields the same results as the pump failure.meaning, the car engine stopped and i had to drift to the side of the road.almost was hit by semis in both cases.
While driving the car, it loses power completely and the engine shuts off. This has happened several times while driving on the freeway at high speed. It is a very dangerous situation, as the car quickly decelerates and power steering no longer works. I have been incredibly lucky to be able to get to the side of the highway after losing power each time (it has happened on the freeway 5 times now). The car will not start after it loses power and puts up a random check engine error. Sometimes, after sitting for a period of time, it will start up, but this seems to be completely random, as it happens sometimes, but not always. I have taken the vehicle to bmw several times now and they have replaced several parts and assured me it is fixed, but it keeps happening. I am now very concerned for my family's safety.i realize the car is a 2009 model, and it has a little over 100,000 miles on it, but this type of power loss should not be happening over and over again, especially when it has been taken to the bmw dealer. I have specified the last incident in the "when did this happen" question below, but the problem started about 6 weeks ago.
Takata recall. This is the second time ive had to file a complaint. My car keeps dying in the middle of the road while i'm driving just randomly. It gives no warning or anything i can't drive my car in the heat or at night. I've been to the bmw dealership here and it's been 6months and they still don't have the recall parts. It's a very serious safety issue please contact me soon
As i was driving my car normally my car just turned off on me while going 50. Its telling me on the screen its the fuel pump.
The contact owns a 2009 bmw 328i. Whenever the contact placed fuel in the fuel tank, she could only fuel the tank two dollars worth at a time to fill the tank. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to determine the cause of the failure. In addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v676000 (electrical system) and 17v683000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called bmw of west houston at (855) 627-3055 (located at 20822 katy fwy, katy, tx 77449) and was informed that the part was not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available for nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v676000 (electrical system) and 17v683000 (engine and engine cooling).
Takata recall: the car while being driven will just stall all power is lost, and then after about 30 minutes it will start back up. It is hard to have it repaired because it is not displaying the issue when the mechanic looks at it. But is shows an errors code of fuel pump over heating. I have had all several repairs done and nothing helps. I can't just keep dumping money in to see if this might eliminate the issue. I see this has been a problem with a number of bmw models. I can not safely drive the car or sell it, it could cause a horrific auto accident. I believe it is an issue involving some part of the fuel pump system. I have seen recalls for some bmw models with these issue but not mine. I have had it in the shop 5 times since april
Takata recall, whenever i drive my car for more than 30min it overheats and completely shuts off. The steering wheel locks like it runs out of gas and i can't start the car for at least 20 30 minutes. Thought it was the fuel pump replaced that and 3months later the problem comes back and now i can't run the a/c without it shutting off randomly. I've had this happen on very busy roads blocking traffic because i couldn't do anything. I took my car to bmw dealership and the parts still aren't made is what they said. I want this problem fixed as soon as possible please.
Driving along at 80 mph on the expressway in rush hour traffic, heading into a curve. Cruise control was activated, service engine light came on, and car shutoff. Was able to activate hazards and maneuver between the car and semi next to me to get to right shoulder. (ditch on left side) once safely off the side of the road tried to restart and car cranked but did not start. Just had fuel pump replaced 6 weeks ago for same cranking, but not starting behavior. Bmw has confirmed the new hpfp they put in 6 weeks ago failed.
The contact owns a 2009 bmw 328i. While driving approximately 75 mph, the fuel pump indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled and shut off. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. The contact waited for a while in the presence of a police officer, who was about to call for a tow truck when the vehicle restarted. The contact started to drive away, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I was driving south on rte 495 in ma in the left lane and had just passed the exit ramp to rte 3 when the car seized and dramatically slowed down, i was going 70-75 mph with other cars behind and next to me going the same speed. It's only due to the alertness of the driver behind me that both of us are not dead. He swerved into the middle lane and went by me. After that i crossed three lines of traffic going at 10-20 mph on a major highway. I survived the experience, but i feel it is my responsibility to report this incident and hopefully save the life of somebody else in the future if bmw can be compelled to fix their fuel pump issue on the 328i. I called bmw as i was waiting for a tow and was told that there's a recall on the 335's fuel pump, but not on the 328i. I believe only a death will compel them to take action. As for me, i paid the bmw dealership in sudbury, ma $800 to replace the fuel pump and drove the car straight to a mazda dealership and traded it for a cx-5 because i believe the bmw is unsafe and a possible death trap.
Airflow meter/sensor - car sputters and struggles with air intake causing the car to stall. I was driving 45 mph and my car turned off. This happened back in 12/2017 - i took the car into the shop to fix the problem ($1300+) and the same issues are happening again. July 2018 driving 33 mph and my car stalled out.
We pulled into a parking space, my husband had his foot on the brake and the car surged up a curb, hit a sign and then hit a lamp post and the car went up the cement block.i don't remember much more, but ther insurance totaled the car and i suffered from brain trauma and 3 back disks.
I was driving on a busy highway between 70-80 mph. The engine stalled and i was unable to press the gas. I managed to get the car off on an exit due to momentum. After sitting in a parking lot for 30 minutes, the car cranked back up without any issue. The stalling issue has occurred twice.
The contact owns a 2009 bmw 328i. While driving at a low speed and approaching a stop sign, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was taken to autogermana bmw (787)-474-7000 (located at 298 avendia carlos e. Chardn, san juan, puerto rico 00919) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure recurred while the contact was driving home from the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,038.
2009 bmw 328i series x drive not able to reverse out of parking space in parking lot. I had to have my car towed. There a numerous complaints on gm transmissions having this problem and the fix is to replace the transmissions. Bmwproduced to 3/31/2009, equipped with the 6l45 transmission (ga6l45r),may exhibit a condition of no engagement when selecting forward or reverse ranges.need to do a recall on this issue, transmissions being replace on new car they go out at 100,000 miles or less.
I had just left home and had been driving for few minutes.was waiting on top of a small hill at a stop light and started to accelerate when it turned green. That is when the car turned off and started to roll backward down a hill.had to put on emergency brake and tried to turn on the car but nothing happened.so had to cruise backwards to the side of the road.power steering was not working and was difficult to steer.after wating 10 minutes tried to restart car again and it turned on.brought the car in to the bmw dealership and they said they could find anything wrong with the car.now 4 months later my car is not working at all.
The transmission has a stuttering in it from 20 to around 50 mph, it happens whether you're slowing down or at a stand still at a red light.
Sensor warning states passenger airbag and passenger seatbelt is not on.
The warning light for not wearing the seat belt has stopped working for the front passenger seat.when the passenger is not wearing the seat belt the warning light no longer comes on and the warning sound no longer happens.
Restraint system faulty warning came on
While making a left turn, to proceed up the street leaving work, several malfunction lights displayed on the dash and than my car shuts down completely; no inside nor outside lights (it was dark outside), no dings or anything.
Car has a passenger restraint system error. This appears to be a very common problem. Warning comes on as soon as the car is started until the vehicle is shut down. The airbag may or may not deploy in the event of a crash.
We bought the car in 2009, at the time the milleage only around 30000 miles, seat belt and air bag light on, in 2012.we brought to bmw dealer, the service tech stated that we have to pay certain amount of money to diagnose it, and to change both of it will cost us thousands of follars. Please replace it. It will cost us thousands of dollars. Until today we still have they same problems because we can not afford it. I got some information from other people that many owners of bmw have the same problems. I am concerned with my daughter's life. She is driving it, we just hope nothing will happen to her. I would like you to please replace our car problems.
The vehicle brings up a warning light on the dash indicating that the passenger airbag is disabled due to seat occupancy, even though i have a passenger sitting in the passenger seat. This happens at all times. This is a safety concern because in the case of an accident, the car would not deploy the passenger airbag.

Restraint system faulty warning came on
Car has a passenger restraint system error. This appears to be a very common problem. Warning comes on as soon as the car is started until the vehicle is shut down. The airbag may or may not deploy in the event of a crash.

Code is coming up for passenger seat occupancy sensor which possibly affects airbag deployment in the event of a collision.it has been noted that the passenger seat occupancy sensor has been a part of prior bmw for 2008 and earlier.
Air bags failed to deploy in a accident causing injury*dsy *dt
Battery and starter all checked out. But break pedal stiffens up and car will not start. I have read on internet and watched a few videos about the same problem. How many people have to suffer and pay for bmws problems.

I began to feel strong rapid pulsating and audible vibrations through steering wheel every time when i park the car. Once i experienced the same while driving at about 25 mph while making lane change to the right. And these vibrations and noise still continue to be felt since then.
Bolt securing serpentine belt tensioner assembly against engine block broke off . The belt tensioner assembly also broke. The serpentine belt completely came off rendering vehicle undriveable.happened when vehicle was stationary. Vehicle was towed to repair shop.
I was driving on a busy highway between 70-80 mph. The engine stalled and i was unable to press the gas. I managed to get the car off on an exit due to momentum. After sitting in a parking lot for 30 minutes, the car cranked back up without any issue. The stalling issue has occurred twice.
I lost all steering in my car
Driving down i-25 at 75 mpg on may 28 near berthoud, colorado my sunroof exploded. No trucks nearby. Normal traffic. Weather was about 70 deg f. No rain or hail. Luckily the slider was closed, otherwise we'd be covered in glass. The cars behind me were covered in glass, as was the road. Seems it's happened to a few bmw cars lately across the globe.
Door operation mechanism breakage - inability to unlock or to egress/ingress.
The contact owns a 2009 bmw 328i. The contact stated that leather covering on the front passengers door handle melted. The vehicle was taken to the autobahn bmw fort worth, located at 2828 white settlement rd, fort worth, tx 76107, where the contact was told that there was no recall for the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000. The vin was not provided.
2009 bmw 328i. Consumer writes in regards to issues with vehicle tires *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle came equipped with the extra cost sport package which included 18 inch sport wheels and lower profile tires than the base car. The tires were michelin run flat tires which were installed by bmw so that they could avoid the weight of the spare tire. There was no spare tire, jack, inflation device or other backup. The tires had routinely failed due to an inherent defect, before their normal service life was complete. The tires failed in as little as 8,00 miles and a couple have lasted until they were at 3/32, still before the normal service life was complete.the reason for the failure, was due to a sidewall bulge that developed in the area between the tire bead and the sidewall.after the bulge began, a tear developed and after the tear began, the tires at that point of the bulge became unsafe to drive on at any speed.the consumer had to replace all four tires and the right rear tire twice.
2 recalls needed: 17v-676: blower motor wiring and 17v-683: pcv valve heater. Got a letter from bmw saying these recalls are not ready but my car has a really bad burning smell from the air vents and need it fixed as soon as possible.
After 3 months of being overcharged $5000 for an $800 repair i confronted bmw alexandria with the documentation of being over charged for a $815 repair that fixed a continuous problem they charged my more than $5000 in repairs which didn't fix the problem. When i contacted bmw headquarters, eventually an $800 credit was extended, but it in no way compared to the erroneous overcharge for unneeded repairs by your dealership. Bmw alexandria could not properly diagnose the problem with my car from july-november and allowed my car to sit for weeks, until i reached out to bmw headquarters for assistance then all of a sudden they found the problem that only cost $815 to repair. This feels like a dealership with the supposedly best technology and technicians to properly diagnose a vehicle made guesses on the repairs needed to overcharge me. There is no way that all of a sudden a repair need can be identified when i contact external people for assistance on the matter when the matter couldn't be solved within the many months and overcharges prior to me seeking support outside of bmw. Bmw explained that the reason i was only extended a credit instead of a refund was because of the parts used for repairs cost money. However, it is my perspective that this would not have been the case of parts being placed on the vehicle if technicians properly diagnosed the car in the first place. This actually adds on to the feeling that the dealership scammed me because these were all items that i did not need and were never going to repair the continuous issue that in the end took $815 to fix. I truly feel a refund of the difference between what i paid out and what the actual repair ended up costing is appropriate. The roof is leaking at the point where the top attached to the windshield on both sides. After it rains or car washed the water will leak out and fall between the seat and the door.i've taken it back to the dealer who says the drain gets clogged but it's be okay for a month or so and the problem returns.this happens when the car is in motion, you can press on the breaks and the water will drain and the same goes for stepping on the gas.
I am trying to review if my car is eligible for a recall evaluation.

After only 16,000 miles of use, the windshield first appeared to be completely "sandblasted" with tiny indentations. When driving into the sun the glare becomes so intense that you can no longer see the road. You effectively become blinded and certainly would not be able to react to an emergency situation. The same situation occurs at night when driving towards oncoming headlights. This particular vehicle is rarely driven on highways and is always garaged. Bmw does not consider this to be a safety issue, will not replace the windshield under warranty and cannot guarantee that a replacement windshield will not perform in the same manner.
The vehicle was taken to the flemington bmw dealer (908-788-2691, located at 216 us-202, flemington, nj 08822) where the technician diagnosed and replaced the window regulator. The failure recurred and was repaired a second time by the same dealer. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the warranty expired. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. Fe
I had a tire with low pressure.took car in to replace tires.tire service station attendant refused to mount the new tires due to cracks in three of the wheels.i have never hit a pot hole nor driven on rough pavement.
While having new tires installed, installer identified a crack in the rim of the right rear tire.told me he had seen this on similar bmws before, told me to return it to dealer right away, which i did.
