My airbag has not been replaced and the dealer blames the supplier of the airbag. I am stuck and at risk as i drive from new orleans to _______ more than five hours away frequently.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. While driving 50 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. The contact thought that it was illuminated because she placed groceries in the passenger seat. When the groceries were removed, the light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
We received notice a of recall over a year ago and yet whenever i call my local bmw they tell me there is nothing to worry about and that we will be notified when they can fix it.they tell me that it is mostly older vehicles that are affected....but ours is 8 years old.
Takada recall. New owner of used 328i, i do not see any proof that air bag recall was performed on the used car i bought. No letter received
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i convertible. While operating the vehicle, the message "passenger restraint system malfunction" displayed. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer (bmw of gwinnett place (3264 commerce ave, duluth, ga) were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 175,000.
Excessive time from notification to resolution, currently 7 months with no resolution. Nhtsa recall number: opens new window takes away from vin lookup section>16v071 recall date: february 5, 2016 manufacturer recall number: nasummary:driver's front air bag: during air bag deployment in an accident, the driver's front air bag module may produce excessive internal pressure that could cause the inflator to rupture. Safety risk:inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the driver or other passengers, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. Remedy:your bmw center will replace the driver's front air bag module. However, due to the large volume of new inflators needed to repair vehicles, the necessary parts will not be immediately available. As a result, owners of affected vehicles will be informed of the recall in an initial notification letter. Once replacement parts become available bmw will send another notification letter to owners, beginning with older model year vehicles located in bmw's previously defined hah (high absolute humidity) region and expanding accordingly as more parts become available. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available
Takata recall.i was mailed a safety recall notice from bmw alerting me to the fact that my airbags had been recalled, and that they posed a significant safety hazard. They told me that they did not have parts in supply currently to fix the issue, but would contact me again when they had the parts. This was over a year ago. They still have not contacted me about replacing my airbags. This has not been taken care of in a timely manner at all.
Takata recall. I've been trying since march 2016 to get my local dealership to replace my defective airbag, as outlined in my recall notice. I have been patient, and now my patience is up. I no longer want this dangerous airbag in my car, and since i have waited two years its time to replace it now. Can you help?

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
As soon as the vehicle is started a warning will pop up for 'passenger restraint system malfunction' caused by the seat occupancy sensor failing on the front passenger seat. The warning will stay on and not go away. A previous recall for similar year models has been announced but it didn't cover all affected vehicles due to similar sensors being used across all these year models. Bmw wants to charge 1000+ dollars for this sensor repair due to them saying this is an 'unaffected vehicle'. Without this sensor working properly, in the event of a collision, the passenger airbag could not deploy which can cause serious injury or death. Bmw refuses to do anything about this without a recall announced, or without thousands of dollars being spent just for the safety of my passengers.
I haven't received my date i can take my car for repair
Takata recall
Takata recall i was involved in a motor vehicle accident on 10/1/2016. I had a friend drive my car while i rode in the passenger seat. My friend ended up driving into the back of another vehicle at a stop light. We were driving approximately 30 mph. Unfortunately, my forearm and wrist broke after the air bags deployed and hit me. I remember chewing metal debris. I remember the pain that radiated from my wrist to my elbow because of the airbags impact. I underwent surgery 2 weeks later (i had to wait for the swelling to subside) i had 2 plates, 18 pins, and 11 screws inserted. My wrist will never be the same again. I feel as though the airbags did more damage than good. Attached is the police report, pictures, and a copy of my surgeon's instructions after surgery.

Passenger side airbag light came when i started the car, then it shows like passenger airbag is off. For the past 2 weeks the light was coming intermittently, but now it is always on when i start the car and it shows passenger airbag is off. I searched online about this issue and went to mechanic. They gave me error code "93c3" which is passenger seat airbag sensor is not working in the seat and it will cost around 1300$ to fix this issue.bmw had a recall about this issue but it doesn't cover 2008 models. I have a sport seat, and when i checked online, i saw in the forums that lots of people are having the same problem. I believe this is a manufacturing problem and bmw should recall effected cars. Because it is very important safety issue...

I have received numerous letters in the mail saying they have the parts but once i go to make an appointment there are never any replacement parts available. This does not make it seem safe to drive. How do i get my repair done? thank you

Use of the right front (rf) passenger seat would cause an air bag and seat belt malfunction indicator light.the lights would go out after a number of ignition cycles if there was no rf passenger, but would reappear after a passenger used the seat.the vehicle was taken to a bmw dealer on 10/12/18 and they found that the "oc3 mat" was faulty and they recommended that it be replaced and programmed.this is a similar issue to two other bmw recalls (17v-428 and 13v-564) related to the front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor mat.this vehicle is a 2008 bmw e90 3-series with sport seats but is not included in either recall.
I have the airbag light on that causes warning sign on the information center. I took the car to crevier bmw in santa ana, california to have it checked. They told me that the passenger seat detection mat sensor needs to be replaced. This is the problem that's existed before in previous years of the same model, according to nthsa publication on 2013-12-14. Would you please extend the years of the coverage since basically 2006-2011 is the same body type and components for bmw vehicle. Thank you so much.
When front passenger is seated, light indicates passenger seat air bags are turned off!even with adults seated.maintenance stated likely seat sensor faulty.frustrated to see this is a known problem for this vehicle that was repaired for only one year of the 3 years affected.how many people must die first?happens stopped and in motion.

Since purchasing this bmw in feb 2012, i have had this car at the dealer 4 times( and its only aug. 2012) dueto air bag & seatbelt lights on, both front seats have had seat belt pretensioners replaced, & various other airbag work, frayed wires under seat. The problem seems to be unstoppable. The current mileage is approx 104k miles. The car is currently on its way to the dealer today 08/23/2012 for its 4th trip -for the un-stoppable airbag & seat belt light that it seems to be doomed with.

Passenger side seat occupancy malfunction.faulty seat occupancy detector mat. Warning light stays on when a passenger sits in seat. Light says "passenger air bag off". That means it is set for a child.
"seat-belt light/takata recall, it seems that my vin number is not listed among the vehicles recalled but my airbag lights have been coming on and off as well as seatbelt lights and i believe that the two systems are linked and should be investigated for security reasons, the lights came on as the vehicle was in slow motion as i was attempting to park. I would like to have the parts replaced, especially if the airbags are manufactured by takata or another manufacturer.

The 2008 bmw 3 series with sport seats, has the same issue outlined in recall #08v384000, action number ea08001. The front passenger seat airbag sensor mat is defective, and airbags may not deploy in an accident. The 2008 328i with sport seats should be added to the aforementioned recall. This issue occurs when the front passenger seat is occupied, due to cracks in the mat.

Takata recalli have contacted bmw customer service at least 3 times to get an estimation as to when my vehicle will have the airbag replaced.bmw does not seem to be able to give me a time line.over the last 3 months all they can say is "there is a shortage of parts"''you will be notified when parts are received".how long is a reasonable wait to get the airbag fixed on a car that is driven daily?

Takata recallissue has not been resolved from dealship. Contact dealership to follow up when repair can be made and always being informed of parts backed ordered and was told they will contact me when they receive parts.never once heard back and i would call back again for follow up and keep getting told the same thing, parts back ordered and they will get parts within a week and will contact me when they get the parts.being told the same issue over and over again every time i contact to schedule repair on this recall.and never will i get a followup notice and have been this way for nearly a year.
Passenger seat mat failed turning off passenger side airbags for a car manufactured in fall 2007 in germany. Bmw don't want to take ownership of the problem despite this being a safety issue and models prior to this cut-off date having already been recalled for the exact same problem. The passenger seat is rarely used and the car, despite being 9 years old, has only done 39,000 miles.this is a dangerous condition if the airbag is truly turned off though no codes indicate this is the case. Don't know what to believe
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v071000 (air bags). The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Seat belt and air bag warning lights go on when there's no one sitting in the passenger seat.was told this is likely a seat sensor issue.i have the sport package and have read that many people have the seat sensor issue with sport seats.also there has been a recall for almost every year model for the bmw 3-series up to 2007 for seat sensor recall.the light is on constantly now when the car is turned on, whether it is driving or stationary.the lights used to go intermittently on or off but now they are staying on.this makes questionable whether the seat belts are working or if the air bags will deploy.
I'm submitting this complaint per instructions on letter i received related to safety recall on bmw driver side airbags.on august 15th 2017 i was given a four week lead time for the airbag repair to be completed on my bmw related to recall #16v071 by my local bmw dealership (nalley bmw of south atlanta) thereafter i called bmw usa and they were of little to no help to speed this up.because of the risk of death / serious injury associated with this recall my car remains out of use since august 14th 2017.four weeks waiting for a critical safety repair is beyond a reasonable period of time!!i demand either my repair is carried out immediately or replacement vehicle until it is.

Seat sensor malfunctioning showing no passenger when passenger is seated.this may prevent seat belts from functioning and air bag deploying in the event of an accident and increasing injuries
Takata recall?-my car is not on recall but airbag light displayed at 83,012 miles.they installed new seat belt receptacle at a cost of $362.42.airbag light came on again in 2 months- took it back.was told they needed to check wiring or module.cost for wiring $625 cost for module $1,315. Did not get it fixed. Seems to me airbag problems should not occur in cars.with all the airbag recalls, i was hoping mine would be recalled but no!

Through out the past month i have had my car towed three times with five occurrences of the car not cranking and the electrical system shutting down leaving me stranded.over the past year the airbag light has come on at least once a month for less than 5-10 minutes at the time.the first instance it was towed bmw of mobile replaced the battery after several days of trouble shooting even though i hadour local police department check the battery to be sure thatwas not the issue.they charged me over five hundred dollars for this battery.two days after the battery was replaced i had it towed again to bmw of mobile because the car would not crank again and the lights etc. Would come on.they kept the car for over 5 days running test then stated that "nothing was wrong."i told them that i would not have had it towed if nothing was wrong.two days later it would not crank again when my 3 year old daughter and i were at a late local highschool football game.this time they said that it was an electrical wire on the passenger side causing the problem causing something to melt near the fuse panel($1,200) to replace).
After the car was serviced about a year and a half ago, the air bag light went on.when i took it back to the dealer, he said the sensors are really sensitive on the bmws. I recently found out that this year and model had a recall on airbags.when i called the dealer they asked that i refer this to you guys because my particular vin is not included in the recall.i am now constantly driving in fear of a airbag malfunction.

Takata recall passenger airbag off stays illuminated even while passenger is in the seat with seat belt on! not safe!!!!
Passenger restraint system failure. The passenger seat occupancy mat sensor is bad, and bmw has recalled it for my 2006-2007 cars, but i have an early 2008 production car that has the problem. I believe this to be a dangerous safety problem and as it stands i do not believe my airbags will deploy.
On the afternoon of november 10th, while driving, a red light with a passenger restraint system malfunction message lit up on the dashboard. I brought the car into the dealer the next day and they said they had to order the part. They were unable to turn the light off, which affected my ability to retrieve time and temperature on the dashboard reader. They had to order the part, which was replaced on november 26th. The part is called sop battery safety terminal (battery cable plus pole). I was told that the wires tested as "broken intermittently." i was told that when this battery cable works correctly it will shut off the gas pump so that there was no danger of fire. I was concerned about driving the car even when the driver side seemed to be all right, because if gas leaked the whole car would be on fire, not just the passenger side. Since there was a recall of the airbag system, i thought this might be also related. The dealer said he had seen this before on other cars but he could not say how many. I am grateful that this could be fixed before any accident occurred.
Passenger seat occupancy mat sensor broken. Problem started, 5 years ago. This seems to be a well documented problem affecting many different bmw models/years. Bmw will not take responsibility for the situation. Please help.
Takata recall.....drivers front side seat belt recall never corrected ...recall date received march 2016

The car's airbag failure warning light started going off whenever someone sits in the passenger seat, indicating that there is no airbag function in the car. Dealer has diagnosed the problem as a failed passenger seat sensor mat and indicates that this is a common problem.cars up until the 2007 model year have been recalled to fix the problem, but bmw has yet to extend the recall to the 2008 model year.it appears that e91 models (my car) have the same sensor mat part as the recalled models, but bmw has not acknowledged that the problem is the actual part and not the "model year".
Takata recallbmw has yet to remedy the defect within a reasonable period of time. I received the recall letter in march 2016 and have not heard from them since on the status of the recall. I i also have contacted the local bmw dealership and have not heard back from them regarding my concern for the recall. I do not have another vehicle to drive and am increasing the risk on my life every time i am on the road.

The passenger airbag light in my dashboard is constantly on. The car thinks that a small child is sitting on the seat and disengages the airbag. So now the airbag is is completely disengaged even when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. I've taken my vehicle to bmw dealership and they checked my vin and said it's not part of the recall and want to charge me $2000 for the repair. I believe my seat sensor is the same one that is being recalled but not enough owners with the same vehicle have filed a formal complaint with nhtsa. The two recalls that the nhtsa has recalled are 17v-428 and 17v-605. Why are those models the only one being recalled when there's definite malfunction with the oc3 airbag seat sensor? my car is the e93 model which is the convertible model, i believe that because this model was produced less than the 4 door sedan and that most ppl with convertibles don't have a passenger sitting in the passenger seat. I have a daughter that sits in the passenger seat everyday and i believe that is why it malfunctioned. My car is a 2008 e93 328i. I believe the same airbag passenger mat seat sensor is the same one bmw has recalled for their 2006 and 2007 e90 and e91 models as well as the 2006-2010 x3 models that are being recalled. Please include the 2008 e93 models as these are the same airbag sensors that need to be recalled.

The car's airbag failure warning light, and seat belt warning light started going off whenever someone sits in the passenger seat, indicating that there is no airbag/passenger seat belt function in the car. Dealer has diagnosed the problem as a failed passenger seat sensor mat and indicates that this is a common problem. Cars up until the 2007 model year have been recalled to fix the problem, but bmw has yet to extend the recall to the 2008 model year.bmw still has not issued a recall, and i would likenhtsa to perform an investigation as this looks like the same problem as nhtsa campaign 13v-564.the lights come on whether stationary or in motion, whether a passenger is in the seat or the seat is empty.

The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and slowed down a significant amount but crashed into another vehicle. The damage was minimal. The vehicle had only received scuff marks on the bumper, however, all air bags, front and rear, had deployed. The driver was the only person in the vehicle. The vehicle was designed to shut off during any impact therefore it was unable to restart. The vehicle was towed. A police report was not filed. The contact stated they only received an injury from the air bag on their right forearm. Medical attention was not needed. The contact contacted the dealer (bmw of las vegas 6900 w sahara ave, las vegas, nv 89117;(702) 570-0279)who informed the contact that there were no recalls on their vehicle relating to the air bags. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000.*dtconsumer stated airbag lights came on and off before the incident. Vehicle has not been repaired.
Takata recall. I received the recall notice in the mail in february 2017. I contacted the bmw dealer (north scottsdale bmw, scottsdale az) and was told the part was not available and we would be contacted when it was received. We followed up april and were told the same thing. The car was then relocated to alabama in may. In june we contacted the local bmw dealer (mobile bmw) and were told the same story. We followed up in september and were told, again, the part is not available. This is really bad given the safety concerns involved. It is now 8 months since receiving the original recall notice and we still have a potential deadly issue that bmw dealers in two states are consistently ignoring.

In addition, the air bag warning indicator flashed and then remained illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle stalled more than once. The contact was unsure if the vehicle would restart after it was shut off. Kovacs motors (707-996-4149, located at 19190 sonoma hwy, sonoma, ca 95476) was notified of the failures.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated for the front passenger side air bag. The dealer (bmw of fort myers, 15421 s tamiami trail, fort myers, fl 33908, (844) 283-1830) diagnosed that the front passenger occupant detection mat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,750. Updated 12/20/18

The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 13v044000 (electrical system) in 2017. The dealer (bmw of meridian, 2000 ms-39, meridian, ms 39301) stated that the part was unavailable. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. While driving(in motion) my vehicle will completely stop running and stall out. I took the vehicle to a mechanic for a diagnostics, but he stated he didn't see any issues. This happens frequently.
Electronic door locks failed to unlock thus trapping myself in the car. No mechanical override exists to manually unlock the doors. I had to roll the window down and climb out through the window. The 4 door sedan has small windows and i hurt myself (pulled muscles and joints) climbing out. If the windows failed (they did not), i would have had to break the windows and then climb out. Elderly or handicapped occupants would not be able to get out! any power failure will trap occupants since no mechanical override exists!
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician advised that the battery cable failed and would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 3,400.
Nhtsa recall number17v676 and 17v683 were issued in october 2017. I have not received my notice that parts are available. I have contacted bmw and they told me i would receive another notice in december 2017. We are past the deadline and i have no working ac or heater due to the fan going out and when i turn the car on i get a burn smell. I can't drive the vehicle.
Had the car checked out for over heating problems, everything checked out fine but my car is running super hot and it has started to melt some cables.

The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact received a recall letter from bmw in november of 2017 for nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v676000 (electrical system) and 17v683000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact called classic bmw (2571 som center rd, willoughby hills, oh 44094, (440) 585-9990) six months ago and was informed that the parts were not available to complete the recall repair. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
After a scheduled service the electronic locks on the doors would not work. Returned the car the same day for a "fuse" that had blown.within a few more days, the doors would not open, and remained locked. I had to use the valet/metal key to open the driver door and was totally unable to open any other doors. None would open from inside, outside or the remote fob.took the car to the dealer for repairs. They said it would take a day to repair after a day of tearing the doors apart anddiagnosingthe problem. They were unable to get parts and took several days to repair the doors with new "lock actuators" that had all failed. Why? how can three doors fail all at the same time? it must be an electrical problem?dangerous!!!thank god i did not have to drive my grandchildren around that week. The only way to get into and out of three of the seats would be to use the windows or climb over the driver seat/ console. This is scary and dangerous,to not be able to open the car door. Why hasn't bmw had a recall on this issue?i'm out almost $2k for the repairs!
Drivers door locked as normal when car reached a certain speed but made a weird noise. Now it will not unlock with keyless or unlock button on dash of car. Will only unlock manually. Door lock actuator??? i have heard this is a common problem with these cars... I hope they are covered with a recall soon!
Power lock system failed trapping wife inside while stopped on a parking lot. No manual override on door handles. Wife drove home and tried to use valet key reaching from inside thru window to unlock door. Very difficult to see. She dropped key. She was then trapped. Only means of egress at that point as per on line bmw rep was to climb out window. Has high potential for injury for most folksif done alone. Fortunatlley i arrived on scene and unlocked door. If very frail 93 yr old mother had been in passenger seat rescue/extraction would have been very excrutiating and required professional assistance. Potential for severe consequences if medical emergency. Bmw provides no warning of this eventuality or instruction on safe egress from vehicle if valet key is dropped by driver. If this were to happen while no key was avaialable [during vehicle cleaning for instance] . Person could not open window and be trapped and forced to break window or wait for help. My wife has gone in car w out/ a key while i'm on business and could conceivably have been trapped for days. Bmw says not enough complaints to merit any attention. Bmw blogs howeverhave numerous references of this issue to this series of vehicle!! wife was highly stressed and afraid to use either of our 90/91 series bmw's.
I had a blower motor replaced 2 to 3 years prior to recall at a shop other than bmw .bmw of north america said i would be paid for the part but i needed to bring it to bmw to verify a bmw part was used. I brought it to bmw of bayside and they verified it was a bmw part. I had a copy of my bill from the repair shop with the bmw part and labor cost. Now they say i can not be paid because i need a receipt from an authorized bmw part center. Repair was done 3 years ago and the shop no longer has the receipt. I am writing to you for your assistance in obtaining the refund that i am due for this repair.thank you,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Doors will not unlock.manual key will work in the drive side door outside only.other 3 doors will not open at all. The only way to get out of the car is to climb thru the window or climb out of the driver door. Driver has to climb out of window and use manual key to open door.many post online of this problem.i will have it fixed, however, the costs are very high; this is a safety hazard! if car is wrecked or on fire, rescue would not likely be able to help driver or passenger timely.recall is needed!
The fotwell modules on these cars are defective..there was an extended waraanty covering this to replace the defective frm(or footwell module)but it does not include this car..the car's headlights, brakelights, domelites stay on with car off, thus drainig the battery. The car then lacks power and can shut off even when driving causing a serious accident.in this model car, these are fmr2 modules that can't be rebuilt. Bmw 328i has a supeceeded part and i called them and they wont cover the cost or honor the warranty for this car. Thus i am submitting this as i heard several other bmw onwners with similar models have experienced defective footwell modules..i strongly feel my car should be included as a recall or extended warranty on this part. You cannot replace it as bmw parts no longer carries it, thus how to you get this car to run with the battery draining with lights on?? this poses a danger if vehicle stalls with battery voltage declining as car will no longer run,,even when driving.
Vehicle spontaneously combust in a rural driveway after sitting for hours. Fire started in the central dash.the vehicle is a total loss.
Pulling into a parking space, smelled electrical burning. Stopped & getting out the car, saw flames coming from inside the car under the glove box. Had a fire extinguisher near by so we we're able to keep the flames from burning the entire car and the cars next to us. Insurance company says its the result of 10/25/17 blower motor wiring recall.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. Less than an hour after the contact parked and exited the vehicle, it caught fire under the hood. When the contact returned to the vehicle, the key fob failed to unlock the vehicle and the key had to be manually used to open the driver's side door. The interior of the vehicle was filled with white smoke. Upon further inspection, it was noticed that an extensive fire erupted from the driver's side near the engine. The fire department extinguished the flames and provided a fire inspection report. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. After the failure, the manufacturer did not send the recall notices concerning nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v676000 (electrical system) and 17v683000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the fire department mentioned that these models have recalls. The contact verified the recall information directly from the internet. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
I was driving my 328i in the morning on the way to work, in a residential neighborhood, traveling about 10 mph (in a school zone), when the windshield wipers suddenly came on without me turning them on.at the same time, my entire dash board control system panel and the area between the speedometer and tachometer lit up with several system error messages:1)check control messages: control systems! drive moderately.restraint system malfunction! transmission malfunction! cruise control malfunction!2)pass. Restraint system: fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Continue to wear the safety belt.transmisson malfunction!3) transmission malfunction:functionality or display of gear position may malfunction.it may be possible to engage a gear without depressing brake pedal.restraint system malfunction!4)cruise control: cruise control malfunction.have the system checked by your bmw center.control systems!drive moderately.5)control systems.braking and dynamic-response system malfunction.drive moderately. Avoid hard braking. Control systems!drive moderately6)area betw speedometer/tach is lit up [e.g. Brake, abs, transmission and cruise warning symbols].7)the windshield wipers will not turn off as long as the car key is in the ignition.when you turn the car off, the wipers do not stop until the key is removed!the car had to be towed to the local dealership where i purchased it brand new.they say they are not aware of this problem.i also emailed bmw usa north america.my request is that you investigate these issues with bmw usa north america.surely, they have more intelligence about the nature and scope of these types of problem and need to be transparent in advising consumers accordingly before the underlying cause of the defect leads to accidents and injuries.

I've looked up my vin on my bmw 2008 328i it has a recall on the blower motor wiring, they have a wiring harness kit to fix the problem but when i call don jacobs bmw they say there is no recall showing for my car, i have no heat in my car the blower mother doesn't work, my car is one that is affected by this recall, i just want my car fixed

As i was driving home from work one evening, my 2008 bmw 328i coupe began acting strange. The interior overhead lights as well as most all of the dashboard lights (radio, hazard button, on-board computer etc.) began to flicker accompanied by a ticking noise in sequence with the flickering. The vehicle was acting as though it was about to shut down; that's when i decided to pull over. As i pulled off of the road, the steering became more difficult and the flickering became more frequent. While coming to a stop (traveling at about 10mph), the vehicle completely shut off. I lost complete control of vital mechanisms such as steering, power, lighting (both interior and exterior). The brake pedal felt unusually firm/stiff (not spongy or soft as it should feel). At this point, the vehicle had completely shut down with the gear selector still in "drive". I attempted to re-start the vehicle but it failed to start. I had my vehicle towed back to my apartment and the following day, i took it to a reputable, independent bmw mechanic. His diagnosis was that something related to the vehicle's battery, power supply system/electrical system circuitry was faulty--which in turn, killed the starter. He replaced the battery with a new oem battery as well as replaced the starter with an new oem starter and the related wiring/circuitry. A few weeks later, i received a recall notice in the mail-- march 2013 recall no. 13v-044 : power supply system. Because the symptoms noted in the recall letter match those i experienced identically, i am seeking reimbursement for the cost of repair that correlates to this issue. However, bmw states it will only reimburse the cost of repair pertaining to the single part at fault/recalled. The cause of this recall is known, but they are failing to reimburse customers for the damaging effects that the faulty/recalled part may have had on other components.

My car jerked and stalled and give difficult start. Took it to mechanic shop and it was diagnosed with crank pcv valve problems
My vehicle started shutting down from the radiator where it can only be started manually.
I've been trying to get this taken care of for a while now, and the manufacturer is saying that the remedy isn't available. I feel unsafe, especially now during the summertime when i'm using my heating and ac. I experienced better customer serivie back when i had a chevy.

Two years ago, the driver side door would not open from the inside or outside of the car (pulling on both handles didn't open it) and attempting to unlock it by the dash unlock button didn't work.. The only way to exit the car was to crawl across the front of the car and exit out the passenger side.was told that the problem was caused by a faulty door actuator.fast forward to today and the same thing is happening again.i can't open my front drivers side door from the inside or outside which is obviously a major safety issue.pulling on the handle on either side doesn't open the door and using the dash unlock button doesn't help unlock it either. After doing some research on this, it looks like this is a chronic problem with bmw e90 models (mine is a 2008 328i).with this being a major safety issue and is common with this model of vehicle, is there the possibility of a recall?

6 weeks ago my car lost all power.i had the car towed to a mechanic that has worked on and repaired my car before.they replaced the fuse box and all fuses ($678.00) which didnt fix the car.because they were at an impasse with the repairs ihad the car towed to bmw mercedes specialist ($110.00).my car has been at the second shop for a month....it still will not start.so, this weekend i got online and did some digging about the 2008 bmw 328i repair history.as it turns out there was a recall on the battery cable in march on 2013.i bought the car is jan. 2013.did not receive or was i made aware of the recall.so now i am out $1000.00 not to mention what i owe the second repairs shop.and bmw usa informs me that i now have to have the car towed at my expense to a bmw dealership...and have the cable repaired there to have the repair covered by bmw.first of all bmw is liable to have informed me of the recall...which they did not.so, its my understanding by law i have to be completely remedied monetarily by bmw for all and any costs related to the recall.bmw is trying to strong arm me into bringing my car to them.my car is already taken apart at the second mechanics shop....i have already been without my car for 6 weeks.please review my situation and advise me of my rights.and the laws that apply to this recall

All four doors will not unlock. I am able to lock them with the remote but unable to unlock them. Once inside, you become trapped in the car. I have to unroll the window and use my key on the outside of the door to get out. This could be extremely dangerous in an emergency situation.

Electronic door locks have stopped working on two occasions now. The first when outside the vehicle that later required a new fuse. The second on march 5th happened after entering vehicle, but 3 of the doors remained lock, and my elderly father could not get into the vehicle. The dashboard locking button then subsequently locked the driver's door, and unlocking was subsequently not possible for any doors. In effect trapped inside the vehicle, and the doors could not be manually opened nor electronically. I was able to pass the mechanical key through the sunroof for assistance in opening the driver's door to exit the vehicle. My concern is if this were to happen in an emergency situation (e.g. A car crash), the occupants would not be able to exit the vehicle quickly or safely. Both bmw and nhtsa appear to be aware of the issue from other postings, but no recalls issued. The repair bills too are also high and fall on the consumer to pay.
The recalls were reported in november of 2017 and there is still no remedy available.both of these recalls (17v-676 and 17v-683) can cause a fire.it is not reasonable that there is no remedy available in more than 120 days.

While driving, attempting to pass a vehicle, i press the accelerator and the pedal had no response and the rpms dropped. After trying to accelerate, the engine dies and i drift to the side of the road attempting to dodge traffic as the car's gas pedal is not responding.upon pulling over safely, nearly hitting cars along the way i come to stop on the side of the road.the car then no longer starts. Cranking can be heard but engine does not turn over or start.had it repaired, the reason is a fuel pump failure, fuel pump module failure, and blown fuse on fuel pump.car is out of warranty and cost to repair is $1,800 and a risk to my safety.

I contacted bmw multiple times before the recall notice and have been stonewalled since. Just two days ago my blower motor stopped working suddenly and got hot under the glove box. I have been trying to get this fixed for over 1 1/2 to no avail. The dealer and manufacturer have not helped and i need to consult the nhtsa for help. I want this problem fixed and i wanted it yesterday. Due to the fact that bmw has not provided a solution/remedy fast enough, i have had to travel with no air conditioning in the florida heat, what makes it worse is wuen it rains. They refuse to offer alternate transportation and i have been rudely yelled at and discouraged from trying to reach corporate. I tried to explain my situation and the seriousness of my situation to no avail. Bmw has a long history of good and bad, yet they refuse to help a customer or to help relieve the burden of the recall or offer extra assostance or satisfaction in this particular case. I wish to have something done about this.
Passenger side front seat caught fire.
Bmw recall campaign nos.17v-683 (pcv valve heater) and 17v-676 (blower motor wiring) were issued in november 2017 and to date replacement parts are not available. What is the holdup? luckily, i have not yet had any problem but, as noted in the recalls, failure of either of these systems could lead to a fire.
I received recall notice for airbag, pcp valve heater, and blower motor wiring. In 2013-2015 my bmw was shaking heavily and scarily while driving and sitting at red lights. I spent $5,306 over 5 different bills from 4/1/2013 through 12/18/2015 which i will attach. As of today, 2/26/2018 the car is at the shop and a number of issues were presented including spark plug ignition, power steering in 3 points (reservoir suction hose, flush fluid), rear differential, pinion seal, both axle seals, needed reseal and rebuilt, motor valve covers, leak in suspension, and additional issues i could barely keep up with writing down as the mechanic was speaking them over the phone. He estimate $4,800 (this was midas, it would be more at the rockville bmw in rockville md).

The previous owner had not had the recall repairs performed prior to the contact purchasing the vehicle. The contact stated that the abs and emergency brake indicators were flashing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.
On july 9, 2011, i was driving at a speed of 30 mph in the process of exiting the parkway, with my family in the car, when the vehicle suddenly stopped operating! there were no warning lights, and nothing worked in the car.i was unable to put on my hazard lights or more the steering wheel.as the car was slowing down i kept trying to re-start the car but nothing worked.after coming to a complete stop, by using my emergency brake, i was able to push the key in and out and hit the start/stop and the car finally started.i brought my car to rallye bmw to have it serviced and also contacted bmw corporate because i did not and do not feel safe in my car anymore.i was requesting either a new vehicle or full value back on the car.bmw serviced the vehicle and stated "bmw reviewed remotely unable to replicate stalling. No problem found", and decided that my car is safe to drive.i completely disagree and feel this possible life threatening issue should be taken seriously.

Valve cover gasket leaks oil on exhaust manifold creating burning smell inside the passenger cabin. This creates a fire hazard with oil on hot exhaust manifold. When starting car in the morning is when the smell is the strongest and last throughout the drive. This is a dangerous problem and should be recalled. Parking vehicle in garage can burn house down if oil causes fire!

Engine stoppingand stalling with no warning. And it keeps occuring everyday and i get no warning of the engine failure.

The recalls were reported in november of 2017 and there is still no remedy available.both of these recalls (17v-676 and 17v-683) can cause a fire.it is not reasonable that there is no remedy available in more than 120 days.

This is well-documented on bmw forums. The adaptive driver memory logic causes a throttle lag of up to 1 second.this lag can be temporarily eliminated by resetting the throttle body adaption.the unnecessary throttle lag causes an unnecessary safety hazard by delaying the car's throttle response.bmw should issue a software update that allows owners to permanently disable or lock down the feature.the problem happens mainly when the car is stopped an in-gear.when the driver depresses the accelerator pedal, the computer delays the signal to the throttle body by up to 1 second.this delay increases the likelihood of a collision by causing an the car to unnecessarily respond in a manner that is different from the driver's intent.there is a 5-step procedure that owners can follow to temporarily reset the throttle body adaption, but the computer eventually re-learns the unsafe behavior.bmw has refused to acknowledge the problem even though it has been documented in several bmw models, engines, and model years, including the 328i, the 528i, the 750li, and others.in my case, i was stopped in traffic and attempted to accelerate and change lanes quickly in order to avoid an obstacle.the driver behind me interpreted the car's delay as inaction and performed the same maneuver, subsequently causing a rear-end collision when another car in front also accelerated and moved into the other lane and caused several cars to stop.if my car had responded appropriately when i applied the accelerator pedal, the tow truck behind me might have delayed his action.

Engine camshaft(vanos) adjustment units failing. Bmw na never sent out a recall when knew of it in 2018( see attached feb 2018 service bulletin) . On 8/27/20, tisha of bmw nj office claims dealer is responsible but says there is no recall outstanding. I took it to dealer critz of savannah, ga on 8/27 who claim that there was no recall for this manufacturer defect and that bmw are not built to last 12 years.it cost at least $4000 if not more to fix a recall item that bmw issued feb 2018 for this and never sent to us. In 2018 , they recalled this car for other safety issues (see attached) but hid this major defect they knew about in 2/2018. I am attaching a recall that my auto repair gave me that was never ever given to me by dealer nor sent from bmw na . I need your help to have bmw na extend the recall and pay for for this life threatening manufacturer defect . This was hidden from the public and should be investigated immediately . I was told by critz yesterday prior to my planned trip across the us on 9/4 that the engine could drop at any time as the bolts could be loose but there is no way to tell without spending $1,500 with no end in sight. This car is not an out of town car anymore according to david of critz and was never built to last until 2020. I now have no assurance that i am driving safely in this car and have to add several days to my trip.

March 14, 2014. While starting the car, i heard a laud snapping soundcoming from the engine compartment at passenger side. A moment later when taking a left turn i heard another strange noise form the same area. After that the engine started to sound differently with a small noticeable vibration.turns out that all 4 engine mount bolts on the passenger side were snapped. It cost more than $1000 to fix it. This was very unexpected.
I took my 2008 bmw 328i 51k miles to the dealership for a rough idle/vibration problem when car is stopped with brake applied.i was told that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and has two broken motor mount bolts on the right passenger side of vehicle.these broken bolts caused the engine to drop which caused addition damage to engine.i am the original owner and sole driver of this vehicle and it has never been in an accident or experienced any hazardous road conditions.i googled "bmw broken motor mount bolt" and found dozens of forums and complaints about the same issue happening to 2008, 2007 and other model year.these complaints were from 328xi and i owners as well as many other model numbers around the 2008 model year.i read that bmw is the only auto maker that uses aluminum rather than steel bolts and could not find any recall information about this issue.the complaints i read mentioned that bmw of north america did nothing about this issue.i will be contacting them once the repairs on my car are complete.i believe this is a serious safety issue and something needs to be done before someone is injured or killed.
My vehicle completely stopped suddenly while driving on a high way. Horrific experience as cars were coming from behind with full highway speed. Fortunately the car behind was able to control his car and saved accident. My car is now towed to the dealership. Awaiting diagnostics.

Motor mount bolts broke while turning out of my bank parking lot. Called dealership. Advised no recall noted. My extended warranty had also ended. I would be responsible for repairs. Took to my personal mechanic and he stated this is a very common problem with bmw. They are the only ones that use aluminum bolts for mounting the engine. Serious defect and a serious safety hazard .need recall...

My vehicle started shutting down from the radiator where it can only be started manually.
While driving and vehicle in motion even during acceleration, with no warnings vehicle just stalls. Engine shuts off and loss of power steering. Power to rest of vehicle still works fine and not interrupted. This has happened on city streets but luckily was able to muscle off the street into safety as car still glided.unknown to components causing issue as check engine light goes off after being able to restart vehicle. Had vehicle scanned and nothing comes up. All recalls have been performed according to bmw website.
I was pressing on my brake to slow down for a red light and i heard a loud thump from under the hood near the right side. As soon as i got to the stop light, my car started to rattle and vibrate violently. I pulled over and turned off the ignition and started my car and the car wasn't rattling anymore. As soon as i put it into reverse, it started to rattle again and did the same when i put it in drive. The vibrating goes away as soon as i start driving, and is only noticed when idled while in drive or reverse. I had someone come check it out and was told he needed to do further inspection at his shop. He inspected it and told me some bolts broke from the engine mount and the loud thump was from my engine dropping onto the air conditioning.

Headlight wiring loom insulation on wires are cracking and splitting exposing bare wires on both headlights.
I had a funny cable or plastic smell inside the car . Couldn't figure out what it was. While driving the smell went worst . I stopped to get a flashlight from my trunk to see if something in my engine was burning. When i opened the trunk i seen that the battery was burning the plastic over the connectors.i have called last year when i purcheasedthis car yo check on any recals. I was told there wasn't any recals . By bmw vista employees .
My car was in motion and it stalled in middle of freeway without any warning ! it was the fuel pump that had failed ! bmw already has recalled many models for this same issue. Why put thousands of people's lives in danger and not recall the 2008 328i also when they are already aware of this fuel pump failure ?
My vehicle has 2 active recalls (campaign #17v-676 and 17v-683) both of which affect the motor and can result in fire to the vehicle.we have already experienced melting parts making the vehicle inoperable
The lines that are inside the fuel pump came off while i was driving and the car stopped working in the middle of the road.my mechanics had the exact same model car have the same exact issue and when they called bmw for the parts the service guy knew exactly what the problem was.they see it all the time in this particular model and bmw states that since you don't have any recall on it that they will not fix my car without me paying for it. This has now happened two times to me and it is a huge safety hazard to have the car just stop while driving.can you please see if you have any other complaints that are similar to mine?according to my mechanic the bmw service center has the parts on hand because they see this problem so often in this particular model.apparently it is because the fuel injection lines are inside the tank and it is a bad design and i have been told that it is a low fuel injection system that was designed badly and they no longer design it this way.
Attention: bmw customer relationson, saturday, 01/02/2016, at approximately 6:30pm my wife and i were driving on the fort hamilton pkwy in brooklyn, ny in my bmw 328i convertible. While driving at 55 miles per hour my car suddenly stop completely in the middle to traffic.in order to exit off the highway safely, i allowed the car to roll to reduce speed then use the hand brake it to stop the car completely at the nearest exit, ext # 5.after exiting i called the towing company. It appeared that this incident was the result a fuel pump failure on my 2008 bmw 328xi which according to the mechanic burnt the control module which caused the engine to shut down completely.fuel tank failure is a hazardous condition and given the fact that a fuel pump failure results in an immediate loss of engine power, power steering, and power brakes and a potential design flaw. Due to this fuel tank failure my wife and i live were placed in danger.i called bmw customer relations. I informed them of what had happened and i expressed my concern for the safety of my wife and my life and explained the cause of the problem. The representative i spoke to today, 01/07/15, informed me that i should've gotten a warning light on the dash board and stated she could not give me any additional information unless the car was present. I informed her that at the time the car broke down their dealership was closed and i was forced to have it towed to g & j service auto repair shop located at 198 28th street, new york, ny11232. She stated that there was nothing further she could do or assistance she could give without the car being present.a fuel pump is an integral part of any car. Given the responsibility of literally pumping a vehicle's fuel from its tank to the engine, a malfunctioning fuel pump will always lead to a total disaster. Driver's need to be aware of this common problem
Fuel pump just stopped working; it first stopped working while operating the car then started back up when i put the car in neutral.the fact it did this while i was driving was terrifying.then once i stopped and parked it did not start back up.the car starter attempted to start the vehicle but an error came up on the screen regarding a fuel pump failure.
The car use take a look a long time to start now it's not starting at all it just makes noise.
Vehicle stopped dead in middle of road.vehicle was in motion when it stopped. Catastrophic fuel pump failure, per mechanic.no recall in system for this model, but figured it should be reported.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that the power door locks failed on all of the doors. The contact stated the failure prevented the doors from being open manually. The contact stated that if you was inside the vehicle you had to roll down the window and use the key on the outside to get out of the vehicle. The contact stated that the only door that could be unlocked in this situation was the driver side door, any one else in the vehicle has to climb over to the driver seat to exit. The contact felt this was a safety hazard for the elderly and people with disabilities. The dealer stated that the door actuators failed and verified that the drivers door was the only one that would open from the outside. The failure and current mileage was 31,000. Updated 12/06/12*ljthe consumer stated only the driver's side door with the use of the key worked.updated 12/06/12
I am unable to open/unlock the driver's side door.other doors are fine but i would be trapped in case of fire or accident.door does unlock through manual key (not fob).
Parked car using hand brake (standard shift car).later (approx 2 hours later) handbrake released and car rolled into street.on another occasion, the handbrake released 1 minute after i set it (i was still in the car at the time) and was able to catch it before it rolled away.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle's speed decreased and forced the contact to pull the vehicle onto the side of the highway. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000....updated 05/03/17 updated 09/21/2017
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that the transmission would shift abnormally hard in second gear. The contact also stated that when the weather was below freezing, the vehicle could not be shifted into reverse. The contact stated that the failure was a random occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the dealer was always unable to determine the failure and advised the contact that the reverse failure was a normal occurrence in colder temperatures. The failure mileage was 5,000 and the current mileage was 48,000.
Vehicle downshifts to a complete or near complete stop on turns or when coming to a stop.the issue is dangerous when turning as the transmission stops mid turn which can cause someone to rear end you.it then kicks into gear suddenly.i have had it checked out at bmw dealer service and another bmw re-seller shop and both have advised it is fine but it is not.

4/19/2019 driving at varying speeds in traffic, probably between 35-45mph on hwy 280 northbound in the fastest of 4 lanes 5pm with my passenger during rush hour the vehicle stalled and the power steering and engine power stopped.trying to restart, the engine made noise but no power returned.fortunately, traffic had slowed and we were on a down hill slope and i managed to hit the warning flasher button-and moved thru 3 lanes of traffic to stop on the shoulder.the wonderful highway patrolman was behind me in minutes and pushed the vehicle to a hwy rest stop.the vehicle had things flash up and the windows and locks worked but there was no return of power.i had no prior problems.fortunately nobody was hurt in 4 packed lines of hwy 280 traffic. Car was towed to bmw auto service shop.
Takata recall passenger airbag off stays illuminated even while passenger is in the seat with seat belt on! not safe!!!!
Passenger seat occupancy mat sensor broken. Problem started, 5 years ago. This seems to be a well documented problem affecting many different bmw models/years. Bmw will not take responsibility for the situation. Please help.
Passenger restraint malfunction.
Seat sensor malfunctioning showing no passenger when passenger is seated.this may prevent seat belts from functioning and air bag deploying in the event of an accident and increasing injuries

As soon as the vehicle is started a warning will pop up for 'passenger restraint system malfunction' caused by the seat occupancy sensor failing on the front passenger seat.

The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the air bag indicator illuminated without warning. Bill pearce motors (11555 south virginia street, reno, nevada 89511, (775) 826-2100) was made aware of the failure and performed a diagnostic test. The dealer stated that the sensor under the front passenger seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
Passenger side front seat caught fire.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that the passenger side door handle grip was deteriorating. Additionally, a sticky substance was getting on the occupant's hands. Also, the brake warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to bmw of chattanooga (6806 e brainerd rd, chattanooga, tn 37421, (423) 381-6419), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 140,016.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that the vin was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v071000 (air bags), 17v683000 (engine and engine cooling), and 17v676000 (electrical system). The previous owner had not had the recall repairs performed prior to the contact purchasing the vehicle. The contact stated that the abs and emergency brake indicators were flashing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.
In may of 2012, with the vehicle displaying approximately 15, 228 miles, the warning light for the antilock braking systems (abs) became activated and remains to this day.bmw dealership service department inspected the vehicle and concluded a new abs system was needed, and recommended i not drive the vehicle in its current condition.however, they would not incur the cost because the vehicle was out of warranty.
Abs and break light is on and been on since 2016. A lot of bmw owners are having the same problem also. There is also a warning light that comes on when this abs light comes on. Also reads dbc malfunction.
The contact owned a 2008 bmw 328i. While driving, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The driver depressed the brake pedal, but it failed to stop the vehicle. As a result, the driver crashed into a tree. The air bag failed to deploy. The driver sustained arm injuries that did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
I have steering wheel lock malfunction "electric steering wheel lock
Windshield trimming deteriorating / passenger side inside door handle is melting.
Motor mount bolts shearing off. Common problem that needs to be addressed with a safety recall.
Drivers door locked as normal when car reached a certain speed but made a weird noise. Now it will not unlock with keyless or unlock button on dash of car. Will only unlock manually. Door lock actuator??? i have heard this is a common problem with these cars... I hope they are covered with a recall soon!
While the vehicle was stationary, none of the doors (except for the driver's side door) would unlock or open. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,000. The vin was not available.
I am unable to open/unlock the driver's side door.other doors are fine but i would be trapped in case of fire or accident.door does unlock through manual key (not fob).

I have contacted the dealer for months trying to get a replacement airbag installed. I have received numerous letters in the mail saying they have the parts but once i go to make an appointment there are never any replacement parts available. This does not make it seem safe to drive. How do i get my repair done? thank you
I went to the dealership 6 times, they were super unprofessional they did not try to help at all and all they said was you were going to receive a letter in the mail and that's what he says for the past six times, i feel like my life is in danger, i just want a solution for the problem and i don't got any
I had a blower motor replaced 2 to 3 years prior to recall at a shop other than bmw .bmw of north america said i would be paid for the part but i needed to bring it to bmw to verify a bmw part was used. 552(b)(6).
Vehicle stop blowing air through the vents heater and ac don't work vehicle was parked.
During recall for 17v-676 blower motor wiring,it was determined blower motor was damaged by broken blades. While recall clearly states any additional components damaged will be replaced free of charge. Bmw dealer charged me for replacement of said item. I am seeking a reimbursement of$ 490.47
Takata recall- my wife was driving home from work which is 1 1/2 miles from our home when her 2008 bmw 328i caught fire and burned, she said a puff of smoke care out of the ac vent then it quit blowing then hot slag was dripping out from under passenger dash the car is a total loss
My vehicle has 2 active recalls (campaign #17v-676 and 17v-683) both of which affect the motor and can result in fire to the vehicle.we have already experienced melting parts making the vehicle inoperable
Good morning- this will be my 2nd attempt to send thiis information to you; the first time it gave a message, information not saved. -i have owned 3 bmw in the 3 series and i have noticed a pattern where the oil pan/ gasket leaks.i find this unusual for all 3 vehicles. The car i now have is now leaking. I would like you look into this and consider this matter for recall?it occurs while the vehicle is in motion and standing still.it may eventually lead to engine damage.in addition, oil leaking on our roadways create many hazards to humans and our environment.thank you for your time.respectfully, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*pm

The diagnostics system was compromised using the obd.i hear noise coming from the dashboard the vehicle is being tracked. The car is no good ..the company sold me a un safe car
While driving(in motion) my vehicle will completely stop running and stall out. I took the vehicle to a mechanic for a diagnostics, but he stated he didn't see any issues. This happens frequently.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in park and off, all four windows independently rolled down. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,140.
The contact owns a 2008 bmw 328i. While driving approximately 5 mph, the defroster failed to operate and the contact could not see the road properly. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to bmw of san antonio (8434 airport blvd, san antonio, tx 78216) where the blower was disconnected and the contact was informed that the part was not available. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v676000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was unknown. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Rear rims cracked with run flat tires. Second rim to crack
When i went to a tire store to purchase winter treads i discovered the rim on the back left wheel was cracked. The mechanics told me if i continued driving on it the cracked rim, the wheel could come off. I have owned a number of bmw's and never seen a cracked rim. (even when i lived in the pot hole littered ne)three days ago i went to the same tire store because there appeared to be a leak in the new, left rear tire.the rim was cracked in 4 places.this is scary and it is also extremely costly as the rims are about $300+.to have two of these rim failures in a month is a bit shocking.bmw says parts fail through normal wear and tear (not on any of my previous bmw's) the tire store says the rims are a very thin aluminum to make the car faster and they see a number of failures. Not safe.
