Recall for front passenger seat occupant detection mat & pcv valve heater not complete.dealer has not been able to obtain parts to repair these recalls.

The contact owns a 2007 bmw 328xi.while driving approximately 25 mph, the contact crashed into a telephone pole due to inclement weather and icy conditions.the air bags failed to deploy.there were no injuries and a police report was filed.she asked the manufacturer at what speed the air bags should have deployed; however, they stated that it was an issue for the legal department.at that time, the vehicle was being investigated by a mechanic.the current and failure mileages were approximately 19,000.

The front seat occupant protection mat in the 2007 bmw 328xi is displayed on my dash instrumentation for over a year.in the event of a crash the front passenger air bag could be deactivated resulting in personal injury. I looked up the recalls on this vehicle and it indicated that the model was recalled. I called bmw customer relations to inquire about the recall and the representative informed me that my vehicle vin number was not part of the recall. I understand that numerous bmw owners have made a similar complaint about their vehicle and recalls are usually initiated in this manner. Regardless of the production time that my vehicle was made, my vehicle has the same defect as the other vehicles and should be replaced by bmw.

When turn in on the car the air bag light and seat belt light when on at the same time

For over a year now the airbag light on the dashboard has been going on and off. Originally, it was only turning on when i had a passenger in the front seat. Now it turns on with or without a person so i'm starting to think that the drivers side is malfunctioning too. In additional the seatbelt light is turning on too now. This is very frustrating. I talked to the dealership and they indicated that it is the airbag and seat sensors that have malfunctioned. Each to fix is over $500. They also indicated that this is a common problem for owners and to wait for a supposably recall letter. However, that was a year ago and i now have the airbag and seatbelt light going off. I've also come across many bmw forums (owners) talking about their frustration with these same issues. It's surprising that the dealerships acknowledge the issue but yet nothing is being resolved. There has to be a remedy for this annoyance and lack of acknowledgement by bmw. If anything there has to be some repercussions on bmw's part since the consumers are having to deal with these problem for what seems to be years now.

Takata inflators your web site said on 2.5.2016 that my bmw 321 2007 was recalled by an airbag replacement. The dealer told me three month later that they had received no replacement airbags. Since then i've heard nothing from the dealer. Some months ago i called the nhtsa & your rep said they had no current information.my question: are you following up the recall and requiring bmw to replace the airbags in the 2007 bmws.[xxx][xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

I have the exact problem with my vehicle as described in existing recall number 17v605.i had this repaired for over $1168.16my vehicle should absolutely be included in this recall.

I have phoned towson bmw on at least 2 occasions and requested the recall repair, but they state that i will have to wait for them to call me about it. This is a dangerous condition and should be fixed asap!

The air bag and seat belt lights have been on for about a year now. There is a safety recall listing my vehicle make, model and year. I have contacted bmwusa and a local bmw dealership with both claiming my vehicle is not included in the recall. However, my vehicle make, model, year and vehicle production date is specifically listed in the recall notice listed on the nhtsa website. I don't understand why it is listed or why bmw is not assisting further.

Fault code "passenger restraint system malfunction" appears on the vehicle. No accident the code is faulty. Code could affect the passenger if vehicle was involved in collision.

There is message on the screen saying fault in restraint system. Dealer wants me to pay for the diagnostics. I think these cars should be recalled for this issue.

The seat bag sensor is continuously on. There is no one in the seat. This started at about 65k, the car now has 106k...is this dangerous to a passenger? of course, this seems to activate the seatbelt light also...

Front passenger seat occupant detection mat. My 2007 bmw 328xi airbag light came on so i took it to the dealer and they told me there was a recall on my model car from 2006 up, but that my vin# is not part of that recall even though all symptom and issue was the same. I think this should be included as the sensor matis the same issue as noted in this recall us nhtsa campaign id:13v564000

This is still not resolve and i am looking coolant and there is not answer other than to replace.it costing me to much to keep reviewing this issue , i think it should be done for free

Takata recallwe received notification of need for installation of new airbags in march 2016.we went into dealer 2x but no parts are available.it is six months later, and still we have received no notification that replacement for faulty airbag is available. This could result in fatal consequences, the official notice from bmw stated.the delay is dangerous and unconscionable.

Passenger seat mat sensor has gone bad.this is the same type of recall as the takata recall but bmw says that this car isn't covered for that recall.recall cost over $1000.00 to repair for a airbag safety issue.seems to extremely common in bmw's.took car to bmw dealership and they confirmed the issue with the car.spoke to bmwusa directly and they won't cover repair.

Passenger seat detection mat not working. Seat has been relatively empty fpr years faulty product.. Dangerous for a passenger when i have one. Air bag may not go off in an accident due to the faulty mat detection i feel bmw should be held accountable for this. They say my car is not covered due to they only cover certain vin's for that year..

After cleaning my car i tried to start it, when suddenly a warning light popped up indicatingthat there was a passenger restraint malfunction. The warning, further indicated that all seat belt be worn immediately when driving. I took it to the bmw dealership only to find out after paying for diagnosis fee, that there was an internal fault in the rollover protection controller thereby affecting the deployment of airbags in case of a crash.the dealership told me this safety feature for convertibles wasn't under dealership warranty. This a safety issue and should be addressed as such, i would think.

I've owned a 2000 and 2007 bmw 3 series and a 2010 x6 all with airbag recalls but i don't own any of these vehicles anymore. As a matter of fact i hit a curb and my drivers airbag broke my facial bones with just hitting a curb and was totaled out. Would i qualify for compensation through this large recall? and what info would i need?

Both puget sound area dealers were totally indifferent about life treating recall notices, upon calling in in mid 2017' i was asked what recalls are you calling about and both did not give any in formation when i said i heard there wasa recall. Nothing we can do to help you now check back later i was told. In november when i called back i was again greeted with surprise that that there was a recall at seattle dealership and asked me to be specific on a exact recall that maybe in effect.after giving exacte required detailed recall info on this life treating defective recalli was told they don't have any parts and to check back next year! where the hell is the washington state attorney general? this is a disgrace and bmw in my view should be spender from selling cars in washington state until they make this right.one death would cost far more than all the jerking around and bad will they are causing today! i'm writing this because i'm concerned about living ,and have no pictures to post. Can not allow how the government allows a major car company to get away with this, total disgrace!

Passenger air bag warning light and seat beat warning light randomly turns on but it happens most frequently when someone is sitting in the passenger seat.

Have had issue with my one of my 2 ---2007 330i's dashboard light came on with a message "pass restraint system malfunction". A detailed message says "fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter took it to the dealer and they said i need a new passenger seat air bag sensor with a replacement cost of over $1000,00. I recently learned bmw has had a problem with this part and has recalled 2006-2007 cars but any vehicle made after september 2006 is not on the recall list. Mine were manufactured jan 2007.i've been informed that my vehicle has the same part as the recalled ones and believe that bmw should recall all their vehicles with this same passenger seat sensor problem.

Passenger restraint malfunction, airbags disabled. Front passenger seat mat failure.

2 complaints: 1st complaint addresses "takata recall" dated feb. 5, 2016 recall campaign no.16v-071 driver's front air bag. *bmw service center "otto's" in west chester, pa still has not received the parts going on 2yrs. * 2nd complaint engine shut off while driving (55mph) on a busy interstate highway during heavy traffic with no warning the engine just shut off- no power! . It was a humid summer (july) morning bmw fault could have killed many, a very dangerous public safety hazard. I was stranded for hours unable to drive bmw. *adding insult to injury the high humidity could have set-off the airbag fault unresolved by bmw 18 months & counting.otto's service center wanted almost $4k to repair plus an additional hefty sum under advisement for repairs to repair the work they completed less than a year ago (>$3k) for engine leaking oil - car over-heating

I got in my car after driving it to the park & got a fault that said restraint system malfunction. Fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt- force limiter. I researched this & found that it is a problem with the sensor in the passenger seat mat. I found that this is a recall on my car & year, but when i call, they say it doesn't apply to my vin. This has been a huge problem with a ton of owners. I've also read that most of the people call & complain & they'll end up fixing it under the recall. But, i'm having no luck. I'd understand if it was just me, but they've recalled it on the sane exact car & year as mine & i don't understand why mine wouldn't fall under this recall!

Passenger airbag restraint failure - bmw's, in particular 3 series and e90 models, have a known and common failure where the seat based electrical mat fails in the passenger seats. This is not related to wear and tear as the seats often go unused but simply fail after a certain period of time. The error causes the passenger side airbag to default to always on, which can cause injury or death to children or small passengers in that seat. The cost to repair this is usually $200 for parts and $400 for labor which means many drivers simply don't fix it creating a vulnerability. The issue has been recurring with bmws for several generations and across model types and should be addressed by the manufacturer as its a poorly made part and set up. There are numerous documented cases on bmw forums and a partial recall for some models was implemented. A full recall is needed on all cars affected, including 2007 3 series models. The issue does not appear fixed until the f model 3 series came out. Takata recall:a safety recall notice from bmw was issued in march of 2016. As of october 11th, 2016, bmw north america llc. Still can not provide an estimated time of repair or replacement. They have not remedied the situation at all and will not offer alternative methods to help customers with the potentially death causing airbag explosions. Bmw north america llc is acting in bad faith, allowing and instructing their customers to continue driving their vehicles while being aware that they could cause death to the driver. (source - phone call with recall campaign escalation manager for bmw north america)

A light on my dashboard came up saying that my passenger airbag was not functioning correctly.

"takata recall" this vehicle is 10 years old.where is the new air bag? how much time is reasonable?

Takata recall. Bmw of north america and niello bmw (local sacramento dealer) refuse to respond to my communications as to when my car will be fixed. I received a recall notice approximately one year ago.

Takata recallthe first complaint is that i am afraid to drive or allow anyone to drive a car with this airbag recall which has in some cases resulted in serious injuries or death. The car is thus parked in the garage while the dealer tells me they can't get the car in for repairs for 6 weeks at least which is unacceptable.secondly, there are two additiona recalls that have no "fix" at this point which could also result in serious injury or death.i am at a loss for what to do with this vehicle.it is a hazard and completely useless for the purpose for which it was intended. The two additional recalls are both fire hazards and are not correctable at this juncture.this is unacceptable.

Many months ago a recall was issued for 2007 bmw 3281i cars. Nothing happened.this spring (2016) i contacted the dealer, who said it had heard nothing from bmw.is nhtsa monitoring bmw? if not, why not? it's not beyond the realm for both parties to hope that the issue will be forgotten about and it will go away. My dealer is bmw of fairfax, virginia. Both dealer and distributor need to be told to move forward with the recall.

Supplemental restraint systems (srs) front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor (oc3) mat faulty. Very dangerous! passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident! bmw should recall this!

The front passenger occupancy sensor in the seat mat has malfunctioned which produces a fault in the passive restraint system preventing the passenger side air bag from deploying in an event of an accident.this malfunction occurs when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street, on a highway, and when turning.there is no damage or excessive wear and tear to the passenger seat.the passenger seat was used normally and as intended by the manufacturer.i believe the seat mat was not designed to withstand normal usage of people sitting on it.over time the sensor in the seat mat failed and poses a serious safety issue for the vehicle's front passenger since the air bag may not deploy during a collision.

I own a bmw 3 series 2007 that i purchased 3 years ago with a dealer. Six weeks ago a dash board light came on with a message "pass restraint system malfunction".a detailed message says "fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Continue to wear the safety belt. Have the system checked by the nearest bmw center". I have searched this online and it seems bmw 3 and 5 series cards manufactured in 2003 - 2008 have this issue. It is a safety related issue that bmw should recall and fix immediately.

Bmw e90 3 series sedan, after the door lock fuses blow there is no way to exit the vehicle except by a window. Is a failing in all these models and has had problems with bad latches that are being replaced as they fail under warranty, there should be a backup system for exiting the vehicle if the electrical system fails.

I was going between 30 and 35 mph through city streets at roughly 3am on my way back from my commute which is roughly 60 miles. I noticed it started to smell like burning plastic and immediately after smoke was visible coming from hood vents, i parked the car as soon as i could and popped the hood and the heat cover for the hood was on fire along with most other components in the engine bay. My friend immediately called 911 for assistance as i ran and tried to warn neighbors , within 7 minutes the car was completely chard. No maitnance lights were on and nothing seemed to be a problem. The two recalls i never received both would explan this incedentnhtsa campaign number: 17v683000 nhtsa campaign number: 17v676000

Electric door locks failed on all four doors with no symptoms prior to complete system failure.key fob and central locking system button inside car would not unlock any door.doors would not open by pulling on interior door latch handles.the only way to enter/exit vehicle was by using key on exterior driver's side door to unlock the door, or through the windows.this seems like an extremely dangerous single point egress failure that could result in unnecessary injury or loss of life in emergency situations.i replaced the blown 15a fuse (#57) with a 20a fuse per si b51 19 07 twice.first functional test by pressing the central lock system button resulted in the new fuse blowing immediately each time.further troubleshooting and repair will be necessary to resolve issue (likely by replacing faulty electro/mechanical door latch/lock/actuator mechanism).

Doors will not unlock using the key fob or central locking button. Locked doors will not open from interior of vehicle, no way to unlock the rear doors and front passenger door when they are locked. Only way to exit vehicle is through driver's door if manually unlocked with key.passenger doors will not open and gas door will not open.

Replaced blower motor twice 4 months 1st one made noise and stop blowing air out vents now second one is making loud rattling noise. Constant tail light bulb issues display tail light malfunction.

Stationary in parking lot.front passenger door will not lock/unlock with any method attempted.drivers door will only unlock using emergency key from exterior.

Despite repeated phone calls to bmw customer service, and stopping at the local dealership, no action has been taken by bmw for a recall regarding a spontaneous fire that can occur with my vehicle due to an electrical issue, even when the car is garaged and not in use.customer service repeatedly tells me they don't have the parts to fix the issue.i learned about this problem a year and a half ago from the news.i have never received a recall letter from bmw, although i verified with them they have my vin number and my car is part of the recall.i hesitate to even drive my car and have serious concerns about a spontaneous fire sparked by an electrical issue. It seems unacceptable as a consumer no action has been taken to remedy what could be a very serious issue (my house burning down for one).i am getting nowhere when i contact bmw.

The doors will not unlock; from the exterior, only the driver's door can be opened with the key. From the interior, only the driver's door can be opened; none of the other 3 doors can be opened manually or by using the unlock buttons either on the dash or on the key. I think that this creates a very hazardous situation-if this failure occurred while the vehicle was occupied, passengers would only be able to exit through the windows or through the driver's door. This could result in injury or loss of life in some accident situations.i spoke to bmw north america about this problem and they said that they "probably would not be responsible for repairs" to this potentially dangerous situation.

Red electric steering wheel lock icon on screen and car will not start or turn over. Radio works and everything else but car will not start. When battery died, and i charged it full, then went to start the car and this red electric steering wheel lock came on. Had to get car serviced

The left passenger door lock has ceased to operate on my 2007 bmw 328i. It does not unlock with either the key fob or the main unlock switch. This is very dangerous if there were any kind of emergency involving this door needing to be opened.

After being service by dealer for 4 days which included the replacement of right headlight and abs and brake system the car caught fire which seem to be related to electrical system.while driving the car heavy toxic smoke started coming out of ventilator of ac system.i immediately step out of the car and in a few minutes smoke and flames located in the engine in front of passenger seat burn the car.flames and black plastic were coming also under the glove compartment right in front of passenger seat.dealer quoted $25000 for repair and insurance company declared it total loss.car was delivered to dealer who has kept it for a month, engineer from bmw north america came and inspected but no report has been issued by them or dealer.this company has no concern for safety of consumers and should be penalize.after having owned six bmw's i feel these autos are not safe.

No star no light no power only light for steering lock

Reference nhtsa campaign: 13v044000my vehicle has been experiencing issues as exactly outlined in this recall notice such as the starting rough, not starting, battery indicator lamp lit, and other electrical issues. I have experienced a loss of power & degraded performance while driving although it has not resulted in a crash because i was able to safely pull my car over.i spoke with bmw customer relations and they said my vin was not specified by this recall and to file a complaint with the nhtsa to get this resolved. I have researched many other 2007 3-series owners having similar issues and would expect this to be covered by the recall.

Wiring insulation cracking degrading leaving exposed bare wiring causing shorts and possible fire in headlight wiring harnesses, wires are stationary do not move. Insulation is craked and falling off wires. Noticed failure during bulb replacement. Made this complaint after reading about numerous other bmw owners noticing same fault

Doors will not unlock or open.i was literally trapped inside my car in a parking lot.drove vehicle home, had to put down window and have someone use valet key at my house to open the driver door.none of the other three passenger doors can be unlocked.luckily no passengers in my vehicle.was told there is a tsbrelated to this, however it is not recognized as a safety issue.cannot understand how this is considered "safe" when if my vehicle was on fire and i had my children in their car seats in the back seat, there would be no way to open the doors to get them out.bmw is aware that the actuators are pulling too much current through the fuses and that the actuators need replaced.they are making tons of money off of charging people to repair this known problem as this is not something you can avoid having repaired unless you are willing to gamble on your own life or those of family/friends who may be in your vehicle when this occurs.there really needs to be a safety recall on this issue before someone loses their life as a result. I find it quite absurd that the nhtsa does not recognize this. Does someone need to die for this to be remedied?just because i drive a used bmw does not mean i have the money to have this repaired, yet i've got two very young children who ride in the backseat of this car on a daily basis.looking at the number of complaints that have already been filed, obviously it appears that neither bmw nor the nhtsa seem to care about my safety, my family's safety or that of any of the other thousands of bmw owners who are having the same issue.

Door locks would not open on 3 of the doors; had to crawl from backseat to front seat to start car. Once got home, had to crawl back out via the back seat.extremely hazardous safety condition due to if there was an accident, myself nor my passengers, especially young children, wouldn't be able to escape.took vehicle to local bmw dealer and he stated this was not the "1st" time he had seen this type of issue. Approximate cost is between $700 to $1,000 to fix.contacted bmw customer relations and they are investigating issue.

My wife was attempting to exit car when she noticed that she was not able to open any of car doors - all the locks would not operate ! also, the door handles would not open the doors from the inside the vehicle.this issue is safety issuethat needs to be looked at asap. I was able to see on line that number of like and kind complaints with the 2007 328 xi models ...

My wife was driving in the left center lane of interstate 384 in manchester ct. The car stalled and she was hit from behind by 3 other vehicles. She suffered back and neck injuries. This is related to the recent recall of bmws for a faulty battery cable. Bmw would not acknowledge anything was wrong with the car. We traded the car in because we did not feel it was safe or reliable.

Gas gauge doesn't register full vs. Empty tank.my gas gauge always says empty even right after i fill it up. Seems to be a bigger issue, per my google search and think it needs a recall.

My 2007 bmw 335i became very hard to steer during a drive down a steep grade. A battery not charging error would appear on dash shortly after...here is what happened. While driving down a steep hill and needing to break hard on a turn to avoid hitting a dead animal on the road i smelled burning rubber and then heard a noise this noise i discovered later in the day was my power steering belt breaking. I lost all power steering went off the road out off control due to lose of power steering and almost hit a bike rider and came very close to going off the side of road. Later that day i decided to google my problem and see if there would be an easy fix to this problem. I discovered there is not an easy fix for a broken belt on my modal of car. I discovered this is common on many bmw models and bmw is aware of it see sib 11-09-08.i quickly discovered that i am not the only owner out there with this problem. There are many others. Bmw knows of the problem and has not recalled any cars. There documentation of the problem is under sib 11-09-08. I will be bringing my car back to dealer to have this problem resolve and hope they follow the sib 11-09-08 which notes new style sub frame replacement will be required. I believe an investigation needs to be made regarding power steering belts breaking. These belts should not be breaking under the condition i was driving and should be considered a major safety issue.i hope to see this resolved soon before someone is killed. At this time i don't feel the car will be safe to drive.

Bmw 2007 328 xi door lock fuse #57 blew. None of the interior doors would open from the inside. I had to roll the window down from the driver side door, use the key fob to unlock the door from the outside. I then had to pull my kids from the car through the windows as the other three of the four doors would not open. Forget the toyota "accelerator"; this seems like a real safety issue.

Takata recallthe first complaint is that i am afraid to drive or allow anyone to drive a car with this airbag recall which has in some cases resulted in serious injuries or death. Using the key remote would only lock the driver's door. Then when using the key remote to unlock the door, the lights flash and the lock "clicks" but the driver's lock wouldn't unlock. I used the metal key in the key fob to manually unlock the door and tried it all over again. Same thing happened...key remote would lock only the driver's door lock...key remote to unlock would flash the lights but not unlock the door...requiring me to use the physical key in the driver's door to unlock the driver's door. Thinking that the car was not registering that the other three doors were not locked, i physically locked the doors while inside the car by depressing the locks on the top of each door. Bad idea! nothing would work to unlock the car (with me inside!)...unlock button on the key remote...nope...lock/unlock button on the dash near the vents...nope....pull on the door handles of all the doors from the inside (multiple times)...nope.ultimately, to get myself out of the car i had to roll down the driver's side window and used the physical key in the driver's door lock to manually unlock the drivers side door only.

Battery died. Jumpstarted, drove for a bit. Turned off, turned back on drove home. Parked the car. Tried to restart and the red electronic steering wheel lock indicator was on. Plenty of juice in the battery, car will not even attempt to turn over. Can not get into neutral to tow out. Car is dead where it sits because of the electronic steering lock. Thank goodness we weren't in the middle of nowhere.

Regular usage. One day, the central locking system simply died without warning and there is no alternative way of unlocking the passenger doors after the central locking system died.

Dealer refused to make the repairs on my engine that was caused by the recall product the pcv valve. Dealer says their not required to make any repairs, their job is to replace the recall part

When driving, the smell of burning or melting plastic is so strong, i have to roll down the windows. The smell occurs about 5 times a week and can be smelled both inside and outside the car. It occurs at various times...on the freeway, on surface streets, stopped at a red light etc. There is a safety recall, for positive crankcase ventilation(pcv) valve heater, but they don't have a plan or method of fixing this. Since it can lead to a fire, it needs to be fixed, but the dealership has no information about even how to fix the problem. The website and letter tells you to call the local dealership but they tell you to contact bmw north america, however they don't answer the phone. The service supervisor at the local bmw dealer ship in glendale cahas not returned my messages and the number they refer me to, bmw north america at 800.831.1117 just keeps ringing...no answer. I don't feel safe inhaling the plastic fumes and it could lead to my car catching on fire. Bmw needs toanswer questions and provide customer service rather than referring me to advertisements to purchase a new bmw. (that is what happens on their "recall" website). I would like them to provide a car and keep my car at the dealership until they figure this out. I think they would find a solution very quickly if they had to provide alternator transportation. Thank you for your help!

Apparently, the electronic key is defective, leading to an engine shutdown. Fortunately, i was able to steer off the highway without power and restart the engine. Prior to the incident, the car would intermittently fail to start. I notified bmw customer relations after the incident. I was told that these keys have a non-replaceable rechargeable battery, that may "wear out", and therefore not hold a charge! they informed me that as my vehicle was out of warranty, they would not provide me with a replacement key unless i purchased a new one ($250),i pointed out that nowhere in the owner's manual is it stated that keys need replacement, nor the hazard of driving with a "worn out" key. The representative ([xxx], emp.#[xxx]) stated "there is nothing bmw can do in this case."information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Car continues to have intermittent abs brake failure after more than a year.bmw won't repair unless i pay for it.i have already had 1 electrical related safety recall due to battery cable.several people on the bmw forum have had this issue as well, here is just 1 example: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=558662see below tsb #sib270212 for the abs brake failure:___________________________vehicle: 2007 bmw 3 series________________________________________nature of defect:power train:automatic transmission bulletin number:sib270212 bulletin date:dec 2012 ________________________________________summary:bmw: dsc warning light is on. The warning lamps for dsc, abs and brake warning illuminated. There may also be a warning in the control display for chassis control system failure. ( nhtsa item number - 10051459 ),

My vehicle did not have a recall on the following items:hpfp, fuel injectors,wastegate.failure- long crank, engine malfunction light, engine service soon light, clicking(rattling) coming from bottom of car(waste gate), car lose power on freeway, when rev clicking in the fuel injectors. Please helpi have read many people had the same problem and many people were issue a recall. I haven't got one and am 100% positive these three items needs repair.my car is a 2007 bmw 335i and has not been issued the recall for those 3 failures. 89450 mileageplease issue one. Thank youi just bought the car as of 5/15/2013 from private owner and noticed the problem till6/12/2013 and still experiencing these problems daily.

Power steering pulley comes into contact of axle carrier, it's a clear design flaw and this car hasn't had much research and development done, the company knowingly put an unsafe beta car on the market. My belt broke because of the pulley to frame contact and stalled on the 405 freeway and ended up getting injured when the car was rear ended at 60mph. There is a service bulletin within bmw's system describing this issue and they want consumers to pay out of pocket for repairs. I spoke to corporate and they have given me the cold shoulder so far. My mission is to get this escalated to a recall before someone gets seriously hurt.

Dealer refused to make the repairs on my engine that was caused by the recall product the pcv valve. Dealer says their not required to make any repairs, their job is to replace the recall part

I was parked, placed my car in reverse and immediately all of my dashboard lights were activated (4x4 malfunction, abs brake failure, transmission malfunction) then my car lost power. This is still not resolve and i am looking coolant and there is not answer other than to replace.it costing me to much to keep reviewing this issue , i think it should be done for free

I was driving on the palmetto express way and the car suddenly stall i was doingabout 50 miles/hour,antifreeze was coming out of the overkill tank, this is the third time it happen and always on the highway, which is very danger.

Recall for front passenger seat occupant detection mat & pcv valve heater not complete.dealer has not been able to obtain parts to repair these recalls.

When i start my car it wants to turn off. Bmw issued a recall i took it in to fix it but problem still happening.then my car has 63000 miles and it kicks a lot in first gear. For low miles that should not be happening.

My wife was departing a traffic circle on base here in germany.she accelerated to 35 mph and experienced stalled acceleration as she was traveling down the main road.my wife was stepping on the gas and the car appeared not to be running.she attempted to get the vehicle off to the side of the road as it rolled to a stop.she was stuck in the right hand turn lane on a two lane road and waited for security forces patrolman that stopped and helped push the car out of traffic.

Burning smell in cabin. Changed cabin air filter without any improvement. Dealer. Oil from valve cover gasket leakage is an issue in this model. Did internet research. Apparently not uncommon at all to have this problem. This is a health hazard-smoke inhalation and also a fire hazard. I contacted bmw corporate office and was told this can happen. No further information given.

Battery died. Jumpstarted, drove for a bit. Turned off, turned back on drove home. Parked the car. Tried to restart and the red electronic steering wheel lock indicator was on.

I have had a major fire on my car due to an oil leak coming from my valve cover. I have been reading on the internet that there has been alot of complaints with this issue involving valve cover leaking oil on the exhaust and creating a fire on the car. I was driving when my engine started to smoke and a fire happen. This happen while driving on the highway.

Red electric steering wheel lock icon on screen and car will not start or turn over. Radio works and everything else but car will not start. When battery died, and i charged it full, then went to start the car and this red electric steering wheel lock came on. Had to get car serviced

Engine mount bolts:was driving our car yesterday and went over some train tracks.they were bumpy but not jarring or excessive.right after that a strong vibration started going through the car.i took the car home and found the four bolts holding the motor mount bracket to the engine block had all sheared or fallen out.the engine is now sitting at an angle.

Vehicle completely shut down while driving on the ramp to enter a highway and service engine soon light came up. The engine has only 42000 miles. Took it to bmw and was told that the vanos system needs to be repaired because the bolts probably came off. A recall is in place for exactly the same issue for other 3 series, but my vin is not included in the recall and bmw is not covering the repair. What is the process for a vehicle to be included on a recall given that is the exact same issue?

I have a 2007 bmw 335i coupe with 30000 miles on it. It was revealed in a normal service appointment that there is an issue with that particular models motor ( n54 ). The tolerances of the pulley wheel that supports all the cars systems including the power steering is dangerously close and can rub on the subframe of the car causing the serpentine belt to fail causing all of the cars systems to stop working. This can be particularly dangerous if your in a traffic situation to have all systems fail. Bmw recognizes the issue and produced a sib 11 09 08. The local bmw shop global imports and my extended warranty coverage refuse to fix the dangerous situation.the problem is compounded that if the pulley continues to rub on the subframe it can actually cause the motor to drop from the car chasis. An even more dangerous situation. Global imports will fix their know issue for close to $4000. This problem has been documented by many of that models owners. Http://www.n54tech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=722576there is a website this issue should involve a recall or repair.

Voluntary emissions recall campaign 10e-a02: n54car is smoking excessively due to faulty fuel injectors dumping fuel into the engine in an uncontrolled manner. Fuel leaking and fumes/smell, hazard, will cause fire.

Please refer to the following web site.http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4875087&posted=1#post4875087bmw has a ticking problem with all 2007 and 2008 bmw 3 series.bmw has a tsb to "bleed" the vehicle.bmw is aware this will not solve the problem.bmw needs to replace the cylinder head to fix the defect.bmw has redesigned the 2009 cylinder head to correct the problem.bmw is putting its consumers through a fraudulent scheme to attempt frivolous repairs while knowing a full cylinder head replacement is the only remedy to the problem.accordingly, i ask that this government service demand bmw issue a recall on the defective component to its 2007 and 2008 bmw 3 series vehicles.

Replaced blower motor twice 4 months 1st one made noise and stop blowing air out vents now second one is making loud rattling noise. Constant tail light bulb issues display tail light malfunction.

Replaced blower motor twice 4 months 1st one made noise and stop blowing air out vents now second one is making loud rattling noise. Constant tail light bulb issues display tail light malfunction.

Xenon adaptive headlights - the wire inside my xenon adaptive headlights is brittle and the insulation is flaking off. I discovered the problem when i opened one of my headlight assemblies to replace a bulb. Significant amounts of wire insulation have flaked off and exposed copper wiring. I have lots of pictures. I am fortunate that i did not have a short or a fire. This is a safety issue and completely unacceptable. Bmw must already know that they have a wiring defect in their cars. Bmw replacement headlight assemblies are $2600 plus labor. I am the second owner of this 2007 bmw 328i e92 with 48,000 miles. Bmw would not stand behind their product and replace the headlight assemblies.

Insulation failed on wiring inside headlamp assembly, crumbling off and creating multiple exposed bare copper wiring.discovered during lamp replacement procedure nov 21, 2015.i overlaid all accessible wires with electrical tape in hopes to prevent a short and fire.since then i've read of similar problems reported by several bmw owners on bimmerforums.com, with attached correspondences from bmw denying any problem.dealers and reputable independent repair shops are very aware of this issue.

Shielding on daytime running lights has frayed and is peeling. Addressed this matter with dealership who in turn referred me to regional brand manager. Brand manager indicated that the wire just doesn't fray and i must have modified my vehicle to cause the problem. My vehicle is completely stock except for a k&n filter has had all services performed at thedealer until about a 10 months when the factory extended warranty expired. I still take it to the dealership for major services but perform oil changes and spark plug changes on my own. Brand manager offered to discount a new set of headlights by 20% to resolve the problem but at over $1k for each headlight assembly it seems unreasonable for a manufacturing defect. I'm addressing this problem now as my drl bulbs (h8's) have blown on each side twice over the past four months and the shielding drl harness has completely peeled away. A potential fired hazard as both negative and positive leads are exposed. Having the hid adaptive headlights in such close proximity to the exposed harness seems like a potential for a short which may result in a fire.

Passenger turn signal bulb was thought to be out. Brought to local bmw dealer and had them tell me i need a whole headlight since the turn signal burned inside.

I have a 2007 bmw 335i with 25k miles. As i was driving getting on the highway my car has lost power engine was cut off. I was on a limb mode almost got rear ended by an 18 wheel tractor. This happen several times a week. Brought car to dealer. Dealer refuse to fix or replace under recall. They check the car out and said it was the fuel injector.

Fuel regulator filter plastic housing cracking causing fuel -gas leaking in side the car, and gas smell inside the car, safety issue, there is recall for 333i 2007 for same fuel leaking defective plastic housing but no recall for 328i 2007.it si life or death issue.best regards[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Gas door of the 2007 bmw 328xi (and others) can become open & ejected at highway speeds, or during car wash. The door unlocks & can be opened when force is applied if both car doors are unlocked. If enough force (lateral) is generated during a wash, or at highway speed, the door can become ejected due to blowers (dryers) of car wash. Good intent, poor execution by bmw engineers by using a snap fit plastic door assembly w/ the sheet metal door.

I drive a 2007 bmw xi and it is less than 1.5 years.this is all about a week apart from each incident.the had been acting funny for a week or so and i brought it into bmw and they found nothing wrong.they gave me back the car and a week later, the car stalled on me while i was driving.after taking the car to the dealership, they discovered the fuel pump needed to be replaced.i picked up my last week and this week while driving home from work, it stalled again!most likely due to the fuel pump.

I have a 2007 bmw 328i with 120,000 miles. My car started to smell like gas just about a month ago, every time i go into my car it smells like gas it gives me a headache.

I was driving on local. All of sudden, there was no response when stepping on the gas. I had to pull over the shoulder and stop the vehicle. I tried to restart the car. It didn't succeed. I had to ask for towing to the mechanic. And it turned out to be a fuel pump fuse problem. My car was just out of warranty since i bought it in dec 2006. So i had to pay it myself for the repair ($600)

The car just stalls out. Sometimes, when i stop at a traffic light and then start to go, the car hesitate to go. It stalls in traffic. I have taken it to the dealer, but they can not duplicate the problem with their diagnostic test equipment. I am afraid that i will be hit by other cars because of it. Since the dealer can't seem to figure it out, i have been researching it on-line and lots of other people have the same problem.

Voluntary emissions recall campaign 10e-a02: n54car is smoking excessively due to faulty fuel injectors dumping fuel into the engine in an uncontrolled manner. Fuel leaking and fumes/smell, hazard, will cause fire.

My car had all 6 fuel injectors replaced at 35,xxx miles back in feb of 2010. Now at 69,285 miles all six have failed again. The car went into limp mode causing someone to rear end me on an on ramp. Failing injectors seems to be a common problem for this engine. These injectors have a 120,000 mile service interval but they failed for me at nearly exactly 35,000 twice. Hopefully enough people will make this an issue to have this become a recall.

Door locked in position, unable to get out of car.no manual way to get out of car.huge safety issue.finally able to unlock using key.when speaking to bmw service center (walters of riverside) about issue, they said if key would have been in ignition the car would have unlocked.now episode happened again, but unable to get out of car.key does not work even if in ignition.luckily, the passenger door was unlock and i was able to crawl out.now doors are lock so i will have to have the car towed.i am unable to get into the car.

Regular usage. One day, the central locking system simply died without warning and there is no alternative way of unlocking the passenger doors after the central locking system died.

I have a 2007 3 series.prior to that, i owned a 2000 bmw 3 series that never had this problem.i came out to my car and was unable to unlock the door with remote.after checking to make sure it wasn't the battery in the fob, i then had to manually use key to open driver's side door.then upon being inside car, i was unable to unlock door using button on dash.my car is in shop and i am told it is a blown fuse needing an actuator replaced.i was told it's also affecting my gas tank, meaning i would be unable to open gas tank to put in gas.after researching, this seems to be a common problem with 2007 3 series.and a huge safety issue of getting trapped in your car.i am really upset i am having to shell out money for this, as my car is out of warranty.my car is in mint condition with 25k miles.i hope this will be seriously considered for a recall as this a potential safety hazard/law suit!

The left passenger door lock has ceased to operate on my 2007 bmw 328i. It does not unlock with either the key fob or the main unlock switch. This is very dangerous if there were any kind of emergency involving this door needing to be opened.

Transmission shift badly - lunges forward - tendes to stall -traveling at low speeds goes in to 5 or 6 gear step on gas paddle takes to long to shift down and jumps forward.this has been happening even when the car was new and getting worse as time goes on.

I bought my brand new bmw x3 in 2007. There were small issues in the past but withing my manufacturer warrenty period. I had my rear brake pads replaced on jan 23, 2012. On jan 30, 2012, when i drove my x3 out my subdivison to go to work, the brake light, abs light, and 4/4 light all on, plus load clunk type noise from rear, it was difficault to make a u-turn, managed back to home, called bmw unitedbmw dealer and towed my vehicle to dealer. They first told me that is software failure, they would try reprogram to fix, then called to tell the re-program did not work, it was mechanical transfer case actuator broken, a new one must be installed. The total charge for repair (part + labor - discount) is $2354.97. It was in the dealer for one week.the dealer insisted that it was my bad luck, not car's own issue even though the milage is less than 40k. I did some research online, found that there are plenty of similar cases and class-action lawsuits. Looks like bmw (2007 and 2008) models have lubricant problem, later bmw switched with different lubricant. Internet estimation says that ~30% of the vehichles (2007 & 2008) demonstrated thisissue. As a consumer, i am trying to urge any car maker to be responsible for their products. But i never get any notice or recall from bmw dealers or maker in the past and when the problem surfaced.

I was parked, placed my car in reverse and immediately all of my dashboard lights were activated (4x4 malfunction, abs brake failure, transmission malfunction) then my car lost power. There is a known issue with the set positioning motor failing on these vehicles. The bmw dealer part # is 27 10 7 546 671. My vehicle become disabled with out warning, leaving me stranded which may have caused an accident.

A light on my dashboard came up saying that my passenger airbag was not functioning correctly.

When turn in on the car the air bag light and seat belt light when on at the same time

Passenger restraint malfunction, airbags disabled. Front passenger seat mat failure.

Passenger restraint system malfunction.

Fault code "passenger restraint system malfunction" appears on the vehicle. No accident the code is faulty. Code could affect the passenger if vehicle was involved in collision.

On a very cold day, i got into my car, and turned on the seat heater on the drivers side of my x3.i smelled something burning and the side of my waist felt hot as if i was on fire.i realized that it must be the seat heater so i immediately turned it off.i stopped my car, got out and noticed my coat had been burnt.i noticed a burned hole on the side of my seat, in which was the cause of my coat catching fire.

There is an internal gear, with in the set positioning motor, made out of plastic that wears prematurely. This is a known issue with bmw's and it should be recalled. My vehicle become disabled with out warning, leaving me stranded which may have caused an accident.

Consumer stated, making a right turn on to a major highway at 10-15 mph her bmw spun around 180 degrees facing oncoming traffic.bfthe consumer stated she noticed the abs light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and it was determined the hydraulic pump unit and dsc failed.

The steering lock warning light in red display. I took to the dealer and they recommended me to replace the steering lock "elv" and program new control module. It cost $1,975.00 to replace. I did some research and it seems this might be known problem to bmw, but yet, i have never heard about it, until the incident happened to me. When the warning symbol displayed, it display every time even when i open the door.

Red electric steering wheel lock icon on screen and car will not start or turn over. Radio works and everything else but car will not start. When battery died, and i charged it full, then went to start the car and this red electric steering wheel lock came on. Had to get car serviced

Yellow warning light indicated wheel is locked; car will not start.this has happened multiple times.whereas it did not affect my driving, it affected driveability.have been far from home late in the day -work related.dealership said this is a common problem. What if wheel locks while driving?shame on bmw.

The steering lock sensor is on. Might have to change steering wheel. Googled the problem at it seems that it is a factory defect as tons of people are affected.

I was driving and a red light with a steering wheel and pad lock came on. I contacted someone regarding this light and they indicated that this is very dangerous to drive on and that it could potentially lock up on me. I contacted irvine bmw to inquire on the cost and someone answered asking me if i had spoke to him earlier about this problem, i responded no it was my first time calling. I believe this is potentially a problem with this vehicle and am requesting that someone look into the matter. I'm having to replace my steering column which cost $1460 and my extended warranty just ended and my vehicle just came on its 5th year.

A warning light came on in my car (steering wheel with pad lock). I contacted the dealer and they asked me if i had called earlier which i had not. I was somewhat alarmed that this sound like a common issue although in all of the cars i have owned in the past, i have never had to replace a steering wheel column. I believe this is a defect and this is why i am filing this concern. I was informed that normally the steering wheel locks up and you are unable to drive.

The electronic steering wheel is malfunctioning and preventing the car from starting.

Red steering wheel lock warning light.i've spoken to many bmw owners and have researched online and this appears to be happening quiet often.

I parked my vehicle and when i went to start it it would not start.i got a red elv steering column lock error, bmw cc-id 186.car will not start.

Steering wheel lock (red symbol on the notification screen). Vehiclecle will no longer start. Nothing seems to work.

Steering wheel lock mechanism. Its been reported by thousands of owners but bmw doesn't issue a recall but will replace and repair for 1500.00.

No star no light no power only light for steering lock

Engine mount bolts:was driving our car yesterday and went over some train tracks.they were bumpy but not jarring or excessive.right after that a strong vibration started going through the car.i took the car home and found the four bolts holding the motor mount bracket to the engine block had all sheared or fallen out.the engine is now sitting at an angle.

I was driving on the motorway and cleaned my windscreen when a piece of my vehicle fell off and became potentially a dangerous projectile. The failure is due to the screen wash jet cover and jet attached to it coming separated from the vehicle. Bmw state that this can come off due to ice forming on the washer jets, so can occur at any time when temperatures are below freezing. The consequences are thecover and jet become separated from the vehicle potentially causing other vehicles to swerve, item acts as a projectile so could damage/crack a windscreen or potentially burst a tire if contact is made. To correct the failure the part needed to be replaced. Old part is not available due to coming off vehicle whilst on the motorway.

Water leaks in my car on driver side front and back seat carpet is soak and smell. Not the first when going to get a car wash leaks occur. This is my second bmw i had a 2004 325l same problem with leakage. Also, no doubt rust have occur in this vehicle with on going leaks.

First occurrence of problem happened back in may 2012. Me and my fiancee were exiting the vehicle but only my driver door would open. My fiancee was forced to climb over the middle console of the vehicle and exit through my door, with a short dress on. I later looked online on a bmw forum to find the culprit to be the lock actuators blowing fuse 56. I replaced fuse 56 with the appropriate fuse, increasing the 15 amp to a 20 amp at that time.on 30 june 2012 i experienced the same problem with the vehicle while on vacation in ogunquit, me. Once again my passengers were all locked in the vehicle. There is no manual override for the 335i's doors once the fuse blows. All three passengers were forced to climb through the driver side door, creating a dangerous and uncomfortable situation. This time i replaced fuse 57 and it seemed to work just fine afterwards.lastly, it happened two days ago with just me in the vehicle. I brought it to the bmw dealership (in rhode island) and they told me all door lock actuators were defective/faulty. They said i would need to replace every single door actuator on the car, totaling a cost of $1600. I called bmw of na and they said they were unable to help me, despite the obvious safety hazards of a blown fuse in this vehicle. I despair when i think of the problems this could cause during an accident. The absence of a manual override would cause passengers to break open windows in order to escape during an accident or fire.

I hear a grinding noise inside the car come from air ventup bin the dashboard when the air is offf when the air is on i don't hear it any more

The bmw 3 series (mine included) identified by chassis designations e90, e91, e92, and e93 (all us models) have a known defect regarding automatic exterior mirror movement when unlocking the vehicle doors using the key fob.the mirror movement occurs regardless of which key fob is presented to unlock doors.a single keyfob unlock process can trigger innumerable exterior mirror positions.the unsuspecting driver who does not check both his/her driver and passenger side mirrors prior to driving the vehicle will be required to set the proper mirror positions while driving or leave them maladjusted until the next stop, impairing their ability to see vehicles adjacent or oncoming vehicles from the rear, including emergency vehicles. Bmw has issued a service bulletin regarding this defect.however, only cars with existing manufacturer warranties are repaired if this issue occurs.ref bmw si b51 36 08the problem has been linked to corrosion of mirror motor electrical connectors.it is also plausible that all electrical adjustment of the exterior mirrors would be rendered an impossibility if the problem escalates.

Both rear windows have slipped while driving. Can not be rolled back up. Cost 500.00 for each window to have a regulator replaced. Both incidence happened. Right after 50,000mile mark.

Tpms alerted us of a low tire.when taken to repair we where notified the left rear rim was cracked and leaking air.car was only driven on the highway, no rough roads...what would cause the rim to crack?i understand the uk's ntsb has issued a recall as bmw admitted that their wheels had defective alloy metal causing the rims to breakdown.however, bmw of north america has not admitted to any defective metal and has not accepted responsibility. Hope this gets reviewed for safety before some gets physically injured or dies as a result of these defective wheels.having reviewed the forum, there are hundreds of these discussions regarding cracked rims on bmws.this is not a one case incident, thereby warrants further investigation.

Steering wheel lock (red symbol on the notification screen). Vehiclecle will no longer start. Nothing seems to work.

You can't hit a pot hole without bending a rimmy daughter just bought 09 328 with 7800 miles, drove it 3000miles, has one cracked rim, two bent rims and the shop said she has two damaged tires. She bought 4 new tires. I'm sorry i told her to buybmw.my son bought 08 335xi with 60000 miles. Drove it for a few months, the dealer said it needed 3 rims straighten. Also because it had a mis the dealer gave him an estimate for $18,000.00 to fix the rims, the two leaks and the transmission. He got rid of it as fast as he could and took a beating.i have been driving for 56yrs without a bent rim until i bought the 07 bmw.
