2001 beaver monterey. I've owned this since new. We continue to attempt to make this vehicle safe. The bosh braking system is no adequate to safely stop this vehicle. We've replaced every funtional part in the braking system, more than once. We fully complied with the nhtsa directives. We hav over $225,000.00 invested in this coach. It is unusable and not safe. I'm stuck with it, as all dealers and the manufacturer is aware of the problem. This vehicle needs a complete new more powerful braking system. The bosh system is used on several models spaning several years and models. The safari corp. Sold out to monoco coach corp. They are aware and will not help. I have over $10,000.00 invested replacing all components, by varoius dealers and a factory service center. Someone will be killed or severly harmed if they buy one of these used and are unaware of the extremely poor brakes.

Recall 02v278000/monaco/bosch brake assemblies.consumer has a beaver monterey motor home which is being recalled by the manufacturer to replace the brakes.front brakes are bosch which they agreedto replace, but the rear brakes are bendix which they wanted to chargeconsumer. However, the recallstated that the brakes were to be removed and repaired, but the dealer wanted to limit the repair to the bosch brakes only.

Request for reimbursement for bosch brakes recall repair costs.*mrthe consumer took the vehicle to a local monaco service center to have the bosch brake recall work done (recall# 02v27800).when the consumer returned to get the rv the technician gave him a bill for over $500.the consumer questioned the cost because the recall repairs were supposed to be free.the technician explained that the repairs were necessary because of the recall.the consumer paid reluctantly after speaking to someone at the manufacturer.the manufacturer told the consumer to submit the invoice for reimbursement.a short time later the consumer was contactedby the manufacturer stating that his claim was denied.the consumer sent a letter of complaint and was then contacted by the manufacturer, who told the consumer he should receive reimbursement with 4 to 6 weeks.
