My 2008 audi tt would constantly beep with "right rear light" or "left rear light" with an x through a light bulb symbol popping up on the screen in between the tachometer and the speedometer. If i applied the brakes, the x through a light bulb symbol would go away. It turns out that the light that is farthest outboard in the tail light housing (on both left and right sides) was the problem.i found that the problem was with corrosion within the connectors that go directly to the tail light housing. It appears that the ground wire is much larger than the other wires, but the size of the connector is the same. The wire has too much current for the connector to handle. It melts the plastic around it and becomes corroded as a result. If you google "audi tt tail light problems" you will see that many other consumers have this issues, with some even reporting fires in their tail lights.i reported the issue to my local audi dealer as well as audi corporate.they will not replace the wires, and they want to charge me $90 just to diagnose the issue, and up to $900 to replace the tail lights.this is absurd, since it is a poorly engineered design that results in a very serious fire hazard.

I purchased in june, 2008 a brand new audi tt roadster from nalley audi in ga.it has approx. 6000 miles.on january 27, 2009, i drove the car from my office to my daughter's house (about 10) miles, stopping to fill the gas tank.i dropped off my grandson and drove home about 5 miles.i looked at the clock when i arrived home and it was 6:15 p.m. As i was contemplating if i had time to make it to prayer service at my church.i determined i would go and went upstairs to curl my hair and started smelling something electrical burning.i made sure my curling irons were off and unplugged them.i went back downstairs and the smell of an electrical.i checked the first floor of my house and did not find the source of the smell.i looked at the clock and it was 6:30 p.m. So i gathered my purse, phone and keys and opened the door to the garage and let the garage door up.as i was doing so, i realized the source was clearly outside as it was very strong but i still did not realize it was my car on fire as there was no flame.when i opened the driver door, a cloud of black smoke and heat overtook me and i fell backwards as i tried to get away from the car.the smoke was so thick that i could not see in the car.i unlocked the door and re-entered my house to grab the house phone as it was quicker then digging for my cell and it would be hooked to my address.i dialed 911 and exited the house through the front door and waited for the fire department in the middle of my front yard.when the fire department arrived, they discovered the source was a coil of wires that were encased in the middle of the two seats that had melted through the plastic casting and burned up through the gear shift melting the leather from around it, sun visors were melted.the trunk was filled with smoke as i asked them to open it so i could retrieve my computer.audi investigated and determined not its fault because no fuse was blown and that the source was undetermined external factor.

I've had the esp/abs problem since i've owned this car, the yellow warning light comes and goes but whenever the esp/abs warning light is on, esp/abs does not work but the light turns off within a few minutes or couple of hours. Somehow when i have the mechanics check diagnose the car for the problem but they ended up not finding any logs for those mentioned problem....last time this happened was today on my way home..

I have a silver tt 2008 with auto gearbox. I've had it since april 20th this year! problem is, it jerks and bunnyhops when pulling off, reversing and moving in slow traffic. It gets worse after the car warms up and is a nightmare trying to park in tight space , no mil or codes ,audidealer couldn't find anything wrong with the car, going tomorrow to a different audi dealer hopefully they have better knowledge of this issue.

I drive a 2008 audi tt 2.0t with the dsg gearbox.when i try to accelerate quickly or move my automatic transmission from drive to sport there are times when my car feels like it shifts in to neutral instead of down shifting into the next lower gear. There are also times at low speed when the car will have a harsh shift from first to second and occasionally the automatic transmission will almost stall when trying to start from a stop on a hill.this problem occurs sporadically while i am driving and appears to correct itself. When the car seems to fall out of gear and it feels like i am in neutral i let me foot off of the gas and a few seconds later the transmission will reengage in the appropriate gear and i have the ability to accelerate again.this condition has not led to any serious issues yet but there have been a few times when i have been in the middle of a lane change and stepped on the gas and the car drops in to neutral. This has led to at least one near accident but no accidents have occurred.i have not had the problem looked at yet because it comes and goes at random but i have my 25000 mile service scheduled on july 31st and i was going to inform the audi dealer of the problem and have them look into it.

My 2008 audi tt quattro 3.2 has the automatic dsg transmission. It has become increasingly difficult to drive. Slow speed maneuvers (e.g. Whilst parking) are accompanied by "jerking" or "bucking" of the car. Also, it is difficult to smoothly start the car moving from a stop. The transmission seems to slip while the engine speed increases, and then suddenly grab. These symptoms occur every time i drive the car.

Possible design defect in the 2008 audi tt roadster. On october 18, 2008 i was on a suburban street and unwittingly drove over what i believe was a small rock. The latter unalarmingly banged into the bottom of the car. A few blocks later i pulled into my friend?s driveway, parked, and went inside. Five minutes later i came out and found that the car?s entire oil reservoir had spilled out onto the driveway. I phoned fred baker audi service, and within an hour the car was being inspected by the mechanic team. I want to make it clear that i have no problem with the excellent customer service provided by fred baker porsche audi. Here is what concerns me: audi mechanics explained to me that the screw that secures the pan had punctured the oil pan because it is too long and not protected. However unusual this occurrence was, i believe that audi should have protectors over the screws so that they are not driven into the oil pan if a rock hits the undercarriage of the car.

The contact owns a 2008 audi tt.whenever the contact approached a stop sign, the vehicle began to accelerate and surged forward. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer; however, they were unable to duplicate the failure. The current and failure mileages were 12,000.

Audi 2008 tt. The side view mirrors do not go out far enough to safely see the road. I was told be the dealer they were normal. I own 4 other audi's that do not have the same problem. I have been told this from 2 different dealers. I explained that if they did not put the mirrors on the car so they could move out far enough to see, it was not always correct. They did not listen to my complaint. I think they have them all mounted wrong so they leave most of the lane next to you, especially on the right side.

Took my car for an alignmentand was told the problem was with the tires. Firestone primewells as. The side walls have bubbles. Firestone said two alignments was not enough to keep tires safe. Then they added it was improperly aglined. Only have 14000 miles on tire. Firestone refused to honor warranty.
