Clockspring in the steering wheel premature failure. 2017 audi q7, 60k miles. The steering wheel has been making grinding noises when turning. Took the car into the dealership for the scheduled 60k service and reported the issue. They diagnosed and said that the clockspring is going bad. It will fail, just a matter of time. Talking to other audi owners, they are having the same issue at low mileage points. Some dealers cannot diagnose the problem, some can. It appears that when the clockspring goes, the steering wheel features fail, and that may include airbag failure.
Airbags deployed with extreme force in a low impact collision.(in a school parking lot speed less than 15mph) caused severe emotional trauma to me and my daughter
I had a accident while hydroplaned vehicle with front and back hit with appt 60m/hr and airbags did not deploy!
I started my car and saw an amber light with airbag icon and got alert that the "safety system malfunction". There is a blinking red icon that i get while driving related to the driver assistance. I looked up my vin for tamara inflator but does not match.
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. While the vehicle was stopped at a red light or stop sign, it stalled and shut off. The contact had to push the start button for the vehicle to return to normal. When the contact came to a stop, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure became more consistent. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a certified mechanic or dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Automatic rear door lifts open by itself intermittently while the vehicle is parked and locked. I took the vehicle to mckenna audi in norwalk (1/22/19). Technicians could not find fault. Cannot repair if not broken or showing fault. We still have the problem, it happened three different times, twice at home inside the garage and once at a restaurant parking lot. Remotes were not used or press accidently to activate the rear door opener. The last time the rear door open by itself, i tried to use the remote to close it, but the door will not close and made a latching noise, like it was trying to lock the door. I was able to close the door manually, after it closed, the remote worked and i was able to opened and closed the rear door automatically.
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. While operating the vehicle, the blind spot monitoring system malfunctioned and the driver was not alerted of other vehicles. Also the seat belt warning alarm intermittently malfunctioned and did not remind occupants to fasten their seat belts. In addition, while operating the vehicle, the windows erroneously rolled down. The contact indicated that the failures occurred intermittently. The cause of the failures was not determined. Audi of richfield (1401 77th st. East, richfield, mn) and the manufacturer were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 100.
Our q7 is less than a year old. I smell gas when i park the car even after a short drive of about 3 miles. The idi service had said that this was related to vacuum pump and fixed it last week. I still smell gas and i am concerned with safety. I saw previous models have been recalled due to potential fire due to gas leak and i am worried that this might be the case with 2018 models as well.
Car doors lock and will not unlock when key is inside or outside the vehicle. This has occurred two times. Once when one key fob was inside the car and the other outside and a second time, while only one key fob was outside the vehicle but the vehicle was running. Subsequently, my infant toddlers we locked in the car with no way to unlock the vehicle. It was 80+ degrees. This is a very serious safety issue that should never occur.
There's major problems overall with the electrical system this car.the particular safety issue i've had requiring more than three services have been with the functionality or lack thereof of the windows, particularly the ones in the front. The auto open and close function on the clicker intermittently works. Sometimes it just stops working and functioning and you have to hold it all the way down or hold it all the way up until it opens or closes.the safety issue has to do with when the auto function does work and you close the window, it doesn't matter if there's any obstructions in the way or an arm, it will shut all the way and not pull back or stop.this happened to me on the driver's side on two occasions and my arm was crushed and i had to manually pull it down. Luckily it was not too bad, but it was painful. If it was my kids arm, i would be livid. Every time i took it into service, there was supposedly another/different problem that had to do with the window malfunction which they supposedly fixed during the service. The last time i went in they kept the car for 2 or 3 days and said they couldn't find issues. I refuse to take it back and got the manager involved. The manager kept the car and per his statement, not mine, nearly fully disassembled the car for a week to try getting to the root of the problem. They ended up finding a few issues specifically a blown electrical fuse that directly had to do with the windows. At the end, they fix whatever they could find, but they could not find the root of the problem as was point blank stated to me by the manager and he was sorry he couldn't find the root of the problem that caused the burn of the fuse because as he said they don't just burn out for no reason. This is definitely a significant safety concern and issue that should be attended to asap. Issue occurs when driving in the city and when stationary.
While driving down a local city street, the car began to lose power, flashed a bunch of error codes and then lost power within a few seconds.the steering wheel locked when this happened so the car could not safely be steered off the road.they did initially replace the battery thinking that that was the cause but it happened shortly after leaving the mechanic so it we took at back which is when we were told that a software update was needed but that only the dealership can do this.the car is now sitting at the dealership but that are now telling us that we must buy their battery otherwise they can't work on it.
Front right side market defective light and all lights seem to work. This seems to be a consistent problem on audi forms and complaints. This should not be a owners issue as dealerships are claiming to replace the entire light for $6,000 which is ludicrous just for a defective side marker light. I don't believe they fixed the problem from the last recall of side marker light controls. This is a major road hazard.
1. Driving 2017 audi q7 (mileage 17017) on i-85 close to the richmond, va. Dry, straight and no traffic road.2. Both hands keep on steel wheel, car lost control, lane keep did not work, tried used the steel wheel to adjust, the steel wheel over response.3. The car went to left and right, rollover, and crash.4. Had sent car in dealership two times to repairing auto brake problems (this car did not stop but speed up even front car very close, i need use brake to prevent forward collision multiple times), still did not fixed, went on 7/8/2017 without appointment, dealer schedule full.6. One time to repairing safety surround-view exterior camera. Three time recalls repair.7. Car had multiple time error messages in 17 months, such as adaptive cruise control unavailable, audi pre-sense currently restricted. 8. Car add on multiple safety features, q7 premium plus with enhanced safety features driver assistance package (adaptive cruise control, audi active lane assist, high-beam assistant, improved forward collision mitigation system, audi pre-sense).9. Vision package (audi virtual cockpit, full led headlights, surround-view camera, pedestrian detection, night vision, rear cross-traffic detection, blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition).10. We added the enhanced safety features in audi q7, but just one year and five months, in the straight and dry road, no traffic and no reason, still in warranty period, car crashed, and total lose. The car has more safety features than any my other cars but provides much less safety, my wife and i almost lose our life.
When the steering wheel is turned there is a squeaky sound as if something is rubbing against some other thing. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't figure out the problem but did recognize the issue. They changed the whole suspension and the electrical steering system but the noise is still there. I took my car back from and was on a vacation when noticed large amount of smoke coming from below the vehicle. I parked the car on the side and checked for fire but there was none. I let the car cool down and then parked the car in the hotel. Later i drove back home and had a similar issue of smoke coming from below the car. I have dropped the car for the third time in the last 1.5 months to the dealership. It appears that there is some kind of manufacturing fault in it or it's a lemon that they sold to me. The car was stationery when the smoke was noticed but i believe that the smoke must be there even in motion as well. The squeaky sound comes when the car is in motion at low speed specifically when turning.
The vehicles auto off feature activates before the vehicle is completely stopped. When attempting to accelerate after 'almost' stopping, say at an unprotected left turn where you're inching out, it doesn't go. The engine will be shutting down as you press the accelerator. It takes 2-3 seconds for the engine to start, and you are now primed for t-boning, which has happened on numnerous occassions. It also happens at 4-way stops. Others will honk at me to go, and it won't. The dealer said to put it in sport or disable to feature each time the vehicle is started. I shouldn't have to remember to turn off a feature every time. The same feature works flawlessly in the a4 i own.

Water pump leaked and had to be replaced at 50,000 miles and 4 1/2 years old.
I purchased my 2017 audi q7 in august 2016. The vehicle is advertised as requiring servicing and oil change every 10,000 miles. Unfortunately, my vehicle has never made it to a 10,000 mile interval without the yellow oil indicator light come on. When i asked the audi service agent , he states that the car does not typically make it to a 10,000 mile interval because of the large engine. Over the past 5 years the interval to add one quart of oil has been less and less. It has gone from ~9500, 7500, 3000 intervals. On july 22, 2021 i took my car in for the 80,000 mile service. The actual mileage on the odometer was 80,304. The car service was complete and returned. On august 16, 2021, my yellow oil indicator light came on at 81,588 miles. I called the my local audi service and was advised to come in for an oil consumption test. I also notified the national audi customer service line to voice my concern for my car. I inquired if oil consumption is a known issue in the audi q7 2017. There was not a clear admission of this concern in their vehicles but it made me concern that this could be an issue because of historical issues with audi's early consumption of oil. I am concerned because this vehicle has the oil indicator light come on in shorter intervals which make me concerned about the longevity and reliability of the engine.

At approximately 54k miles the cooling system pump was diagnosed by the audi dealer that it was leaking. I had to have the pump and all associated parts replaced. This is a common failure with this model. I believe audi is using inferior pumps.
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 18v229000 (engine & engine cooling) and stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. The dealer (audi coral springs, 5555 sr 7 coral springs, florida 33067) confirmed that parts were not available to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Issue appears to be similar to existing recall 97cb exterior side marker lights to which my year, make, and model is included, but by specific vehicle /vin is not. Warning lamps are present. In a situation where the parking lights are switched on and the vehicle is locked, the side marker lights do not illuminate, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard (federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.") . This could reduce vehicle visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Front right side marker is defective. There seems to be a recall for this exact issue for my exact make and model but audi says the recall has already been done. I'm the 2nd owner so i don't know.

The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v035000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Audi chantilly (14839 stonecroft center ct, chantilly, va 20151, (855) 716-7382) was contacted and confirmed that the parts would not be available until april 9, 2019. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
While the vehicle was parked in the garage i noticed a strong smell of gasoline. When i brought it in for service they replaced the high pressure fuel pump that was leaking at the fitting.
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v035000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to repair the vehicle. Audi wyoming valley (1470 pa-315 #3, wilkes-barre, pa 18702, (570) 714-6550) was contacted and confirmed that parts were not available and were on backorder. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.consumer stated recall completed on 10/14/19. All is resolved.
Smell of gasoline when in the garage and it turned out to be a leaking fuel rail.
I have received multiple letters from audi concerning nhtsa recall 19v035.each time i attempt to schedule the suggested repair, the dealer (audi, orange park--jacksonville, fl) tells me parts are not yet available!when will audi make parts available to dealers for this recall on the fuel rails?
On 5/6/2017, i called audi dealer dch audi oxnard, ca. 93036 reported the fuel rail recall. The service dept told me the parts would be in next week. I continued to inquire about it several more times. They said there were no parts and would call me when they came in. It has been over 5 months. The vehicle runs ok but my wife is afraid to drive or ride in it. My last call to them was oct 2019. They said they would try to bump it up, but never called me back.
The rear doors have a lock all button, which cannot be disabled with the driver side child lock, and no unlock button in the rear doors.this is extremely unsafe, as the following scenario (which has happened to my wife several times) will illustrate: - wife approaches car with our toddler - places purse (containing key and phone) on front passenger seat in order to free up her arms to help load and secure our toddler into the rear car seat. For safety reasons, she does not place her purse outside the vehicle on the ground. - after our toddler is secure in his forward-facing car seat, she closes the door and circles the vehicle to get to the driver side door. - during that time, our toddler likely kicks the lock all button by accident. The button is located about two inches to the right of his right foot. There is no unlock button for him to hit and he cannot unbuckle his straps to free himself or reach the front seat. - my wife is then locked out, with our toddler inside the car. Yesterday was 92 degrees out. - this has happened at least 3 times. In the first instance, she was able to crawl through an open sunroof. In another instance, she was able to get someone in a parking lot to call me to come with the spare key. In the latest instance, she had to call the police to break the toddler out of the car. - we have family and friends who have had the same issue. In these cases, an older sibling was able to crawl to the front seat to unlock the door. Online message boards make this problem appear somewhat common. - audi has been unwilling to help. They say my wife she keep the key on her at all times. This is not realistic and she often doesn't have pockets in a dress or skirt. - a toddler in rear seat should not have the ability to lock all doors, yet not be able to unlock any. There should be a way for a parent to at least disable this feature.according to audi it is "operating as designed".
Water pump leaked and had to be replaced at 50,000 miles and 4 1/2 years old.
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. The contact stated while turning in either direction at a low rate of speed, the vehicle vibrated abnormally without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where they informed him that the failure was caused by tension between front and rear differentials and that the failure was comfort related. The dealer linked the failure to tsb number 2059129. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and provided the same information as the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Bought q7 3.0 3/13/2017. Brakes squeak loudly, mainly in reverse but does it when stopping as well. Was told audi has a pending solution, however was not disclosed. Further damage is bound to happen.
8500 miles brake squeal. Audi says there working on a fix for this issue and its been 6 months and still no repair they are ignoring the issue. Slow speed stop and reverse brakes squeal loud. Audi stated they have had this issue and i should have been told when purchased. I have a case number with them and its being ignored. This is an issue that will result in a problem if its not investigated they need to stop telling people this is normal. I asked audi for a letter stating my care was safe to drive and they could not provide one witch is very concerning.
2017 audi q7 excessive brakes noise (squeaks/screech) fiction material issues between rotor/pad - continued use causes heat spots - rotors to become out of round vibration issues loss of braking. At aprox. 5k miles vehicle started to have abnormal brake noise when pulling out of driveway. After short time got progressively worse and has cause further damage and manufacture does not have a fix for this issue.suspension issues- grinding - strut noise- mostly noticeable when going into drive way turning into garage. Abnormal wear on driver-side tire exterior trim coming undone around windows- quattro molding coming undone catching passenger door can not get passenger out of passengerrear.
Bought vehicle from dealer with 22k miles, as a previous two year lease vehicle.after owning it for four days, noticed loud screech in brakes when backing up and applying brakes first time in the day.took to local shop, and they found brakes to be ok, and that there is a bulletin on this with no fix at this time.but what they did find is very uneven wear on my front tire, which we would not have noticed. They said there was a bulletin on this at the 14k mileage mark for tire replacement on the goodyear eagles. We were fortunate that the dealer we purchased from agreed to replace all four tires for us with continentals.no hassles at all. Could have missed the notice since it was a lease vehicle.but i wonder how long we would have gone without knowing this???if it wasn't for getting the brakes checked, we wouldn't have known. Waiting now for a fix on the brake noise.kind of embarrassing when driving an expensive vehicle.
Brakes make a very loud squeaking sound when used in reverse.brakes have been checked by the dealer; dealer advised that brakes were fully operational, nor safety concernsand that audi was 'trying to fix the problem' with the rotors and brake pads.noise began after the audi pre sense feature slammed on the brakes while in reverse, backing out of my driveway (because a rain drop landed on the camera lense) and continues to worsen.
Brakes have been squeaking/screeching loudly when braking, backing up, or driving slowly and slowly stopping.audi states they are aware of the situation and working on a solution.
When moving the car in reverse from overnight parking in my garage, the brakes squeal excessively. This sound does not occur when braking while moving in a forward direction. The car stops appropriately, but the sound it quite loud in reverse braking mode.the sunroof creeks and pops during city driving and highway driving.i just read an article on consumerreports.com about exploding sunroof problems and i'm concern that this could happen due to lack of reporting and manufacturers not taking ownership of the defect. Popping sounds coming from my sunroof have me concerned about my panoramic sunroof exploding during travel in the vehicle
I purchased this vehicle brand new with only8 miles. Ever since i took posession of the vehicle, the brakes have been making noise when applying the brakes, going forward or reverse no matter how fast or slow i go. Have been taking the vehicle to the dealer few times already for the same issue and all they are telling me is that audi is aware of the issue and they will contact me as soon as they have a solution for it. Dealer refuses to replace the brake pads or the rotors. Its been a year since this issue nothing has been done.
Clicking noise while stoping and buzzing while turning. I am not alone, but there are thousands like owners complaining about this , why no officialis asking audi to fix it? or do we need fire and crashes and life losses for nhts to issue a recall?
After 10k miles we started noticing abnormal wear on the outside of the tires. I have the 18" goodyear runflat tires. The tires are chunking severely posing a serious safety concern for my family. Audi has a tsb for the same condition on the 20" tire. I do not know why the do not cover the same condition on the 18" tire??
The contact owns a 2017 audi q7. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the power steer malfunction warning light illuminated, and the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the steering control module and steering gear were faulty and needed to be replaced. The steering module and steering gear were replaced, and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered.the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 20v149000 (steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 47,000.

1. Driving 2017 audi q7 (mileage 17017) on i-85 close to the richmond, va. Dry, straight and no traffic road.2. One time to repairing safety surround-view exterior camera. Three time recalls repair.7. Car had multiple time error messages in 17 months, such as adaptive cruise control unavailable, audi pre-sense currently restricted. 8. The early production of model year 2017 audi q7 has significant steering noises, same as 2015 model year q5 (existing recall)'s steering noise. The loud clicking noise always come at low speed, for example, when you try to get into a parking spot. Another buzzing noise also occur during any turns. Audi dealer promised to replace steering shaft but it's been a year after that promise and we still cannot get the repair done. Audi kept telling us that the part is not available.
While driving my audi q7 2017 suv on highway with my family (spouse and two kids), i got alert on audi dashboard that steering wheel is malfunction and was not able to use power steering, it immediately feels like manual steering. I also lost adaptive cruise control, lane assistance and object identification assistance. I took car to audi dealer and they refused to admit that there was a recall regarding this issue.
At slow speed 10mph, every time you turn the steering wheel the front suspension makes a clicking, popping noise which is very annoying and don't know if its safe to drive, the front suspension might just pop out.
When turning the steering wheel there is a noise that sounds like something rubbing. It can be felt in the wheel.
Was driving new used vehicle on 55 mile zone n my land assistance pulled my staring to right hard on single lane to the intersection. May be one side line was getting wide for intersection. But it was sudden pull.

My sunroof/moonroof spontaneously exploded as i was sitting completely stationary at a traffic light on a perfectly sunny day. Nothing hit my car or the sunroof. I was less than 2 miles from my house on a secondary road with minimal traffic. The sound was like a gunshot, which is what i thought it was for a brief moment. The glass exploded with such force that fine shards of glass were embedded in the leather and my skin. Sunglasses saved my eyes, and i was able to remove most of the glass with a lint roller from my arms and hands and face.
I and my wife were driving down in our audi q7 2017 model on i-95 south (between exit 12 and 11) in car lanes in nj when the sunroof exploded and shattered by itself. It was around 9am on saturday. There was no traffic around us and we did not see anything hit the car. This could not be impact related.

Hi there i purchased a used 2017audi q7 3.0t with about 65k miles in october of 2019 and a couple of weeks later i noticed that the antifreeze bottle was always low so i had to keep adding.there was no leak in the garage but you can certainly smell the antifreeze. I checked on google and other forums and learned there is a problem with the water pump. So if other people is having the same problem i think audi should look into fixing it .thank you
Water pump failed with 47k files - there seem to be a lot of these issue with multiple q7 owners.it seems like there was a manufacturing defect.
Water leaks into the passenger cabin on the passenger side front floor from under the dash and puddles on the floor.the battery is located just under the floor where the puddling occurs.audi claims this is "normal" unless i turn off a/c when going through a car wash or rain!this is a mold and electrical short hazard as water can drip down into the battery compartment.according to audi, this happens on all q7's per my work order receipt.this issue happens in rain, or while going through a car wash with the car running and a/c turned on and operating.vehicle was out of service 14 days while trying to figure this out at dealership.
Premature water pump failure. I took our 2017 audi q7 into the dealer for a 60k mi service. The vehicle has been serviced as recommended by audi at the dealership at every interval. On this visit everything looked normal but they discovered a leak in the water pump. Quoted a $2100 repair. We are out of warranty. Talking to other audi q7 owners, many have had premature water pump failures. Some were covered by warranty, others not. The water pump is an essential component and if it fails, it could leave the driver and occupants stranded due to an overheated engine.
I was parking the car and dropping my kid off at daycare.car was stationary and parked when i proceeded to exit the car.electronic key fob sat in the center console untouched.pushed the auto start/stop button to turn the car off and exited the car without the key fob to get my kid from the car seat.driver side car door closed and the car locked with the key fob in the center console.no other buttons were touched during this sequence.car was now locked with my 4 year old in the car seat.i was unable to open any of the car doors, nor the trunk.it took about 5 minutes, but we were able to communicate through the window to my kid to push the button on the door (that had a red light on) to open his door.when this happened, i quickly grab the key fob.before using the key fob to 'open' the doors, i tried opening any of the other doors and they all were locked.this event has happened twice.this is the second time.the first time this happened i needed to drive back to my house and get the second key fob.this time, i did not have this luxury.the situation was dramatic enough that i need to file a complaint.luckily, my kid was able to open the door.any younger and i would've had to break the window.
I started my car and saw an amber light with airbag icon and got alert that the "safety system malfunction". There is a blinking red icon that i get while driving related to the driver assistance. I looked up my vin for tamara inflator but does not match.
Sunroof exploded while driving at high speed on a highway in texas.first we heard a big loud boom thinking we got hit, or we had a tire blew up, then we realized we were covered in shattered glass all over the front seat and second row (sun shade was open).we were lucky this time since no other vehicle was near us and no one got hurt.this is a major safety concern that needs to be addressed.
Pre-sense sytstem nearly caused accident on two occasions where there was no reason for it to stop the car.first time was at 75mph, on calif. 46, 4 lanes divided, westbound about 25 miles west of i5, level stretch of road, clear weather, no vehicle ahead in either lane and no oncoming traffic.car suddenly cut fuel and braked to a stop.i was in right lane and ended up on shoulder.fortunately, no traffic close behind or i might have been rear-ended.audi dealer could find nothing wrong and had no explanation.system has four settings:early, medium, late and off.dealer set system to "late".when i asked if i should turn it off, i realized there was no way dealer would advise me to do so because of potential liability.second incident two months later.at night, on ventura blvd. In sherman oaks, ca, at corner of kester ave., westbound at night, pulled into left-turn lane.initiated left turn because oncoming traffic was a very safe distance, far away.pre-sense system activated and stopped my car in the first lane of oncoming traffic.because the next oncoming vehicle was in the second (right) lane, it did not impact my car.had that vehicle been in the first lane, i would have been struck at 35-40mph broadside.there was absolutely no reason for the system to stop the car.i pulled over after completing the turn and turned the pre-sense system "off".this system is clearly not ready for deployment in vehicles.rather than avoiding an accident, the system nearly caused an accident the only two times it ever activated on my vehicle.
While backing up, image of rear view and overhead camera froze.image showed a clear area behind car and i continued to back.i backed several more yards and hit thick underbrush before i realized the image was not accurate.i cut off car and restarted and image still froze.there was no damage from contact with brush but there was a large tree within 2 feet of the car's rear.
Cpsc: while being driven by my brother-in-law with my sister as a passenger, my 2017 audi q7 caughtfire and was engulfed in flames in a matter of seconds. The fire was proceeded by a sound, andthe fire seemed to come from front passenger side. It was not struck by anything and did notrun over anything. *dtthe consumer stated the vehicle was previously repaired due to a fuel leak.
After a short drive in hot texas, i parked my car to pick up my daughter. Came back out to an empty lot and chatted with another parent in front of the car. While doing so my sunroof "exploded", nothing landed on it, and we were far from the road or any buildings. Needless to say had we been in the car and driving it would have been a huge safety concern, there was tiny pieces of class everywhere. And it said a loud noise when it happened, and i am sure that would have created issues driving 60 mph, which i did 10 minutes earlier.
I was accelerating to enter onto interstate i-30 at 9:00am on a nice sunny day, there were no other vehicles within 200' of my vehicle and the "pre-sense" system caused the brakes to automatically slam on (twice) to stop the car.out of the corner of my eye i saw a piece of paper floating across the front of my car and wondered if that was what the car "saw" or sensed that caused it to brake.thank goodness no one was behind me!
Two large windshield chipping in less than 3500 miles. Very bizarre considering the cost of the car. I own another vehicle, similar size (vw touareg 2012). It was hit many times and there are barely any marks left on the windshield. Is acoustic windshield (which my car is equipped with) less resistant to cracks and breaks?
There is a defect with the heads up display that causes a bright glare to be reflected in the windshield. Right in the drivers line of sight. This happens on sunny days at midday while driving certain directions.please check the audi world forum and you will see postings of other people who have the same problem. There are photos of the glare as well.search audi q7 head up display windshield glare on the audi world forum. Lots of pictures of the glare. The glare happens while driving and moves around as the car changes direction. Think of a mirror reflecting light. The shiny surface of the head up display case reflects a bright light onto the windshield.
Head up display reflector system, under specific light condition (sun orientation) produces glares which can vary in size and brightness. Some of the reflections and glares are small and can be ignored but some glares are very bright and rather large and positioned right on the eye line height. It is a major distraction for a driver. This can be safety issue if glare occurs in a spot covering a street light or pedestrian.
The heads up display produces a distracting glare right in the drivers line of sight. While driving on sunny days this becomes a problem.
My to date with 22017 audi q-7 has had 3 sets of defective tire. Always serviced at dealership, before servive even due, they informed me at 13,642 that my tires were throwing chucks of rubber. Good year tires warrantied but charged me $600.00 plus install and balance that i paid . At 23,425 miles the same even worse issue appeared on the 2nd set-- again good year warrantied if i paid another $762.00. The dealership, audi sarasota,fl has been helpful but suggested i buy perrelli tire for another $700.00 plus dollars. Goodyear has a problem with the tire for this model, other owners have had issues i was told by the first service manager who has left the dealership. I would like goodyear to return all monies spent on these defective and dangerous that works.tires and i will buy the appropiate brand and style .how should i go forward?
This 2017 vehicle has 17,400 miles. Oem tires have been rotated at 5037, 12,306 and 14,218. Vehicle delivered to me on 6/22/17 as brand new.alignment on 3/24/20 by audi. Total toe-in for front and rear in specification along with other parameters. Outer edges of tires are failing. Chunks of rubber are either flaking off or very rough.goodyear tire - 285/45r20 112h xl eagle sport a/s rof aoe. Run flats.based on internet searches of goodyear tire and audi owner websites many (10+) individuals have noted this exact failure mode on this particular vehicle/tire combination. Most have had to replace the tires. I will replace the tires as well do to safety concern and road noise.
Goodyear eagle sport run-flat tires on a new 2017 audi q7 are completely bald on the front outsides and have chunks coming off of them by 16,000 miles. It was actually a problem earlier, but my current mileage is 16,000 so i'm using that number. It's a known issue according to audi, but audi of north america only passes the buck and says the dealership should deal with it. The dealership was the one that told me to contact audi of north america.
Good year eagle sport run flat tires losing chunks of tread on outer ribs, both front tires 13840 miles
We purchased our q7 feb of 2017. It was a cpo with 10k miles. Part of the deal was they had to change he tires. The front tires looked like they were chewed up or tearing up. They changed the tires. Then about 2k miles later it started doing the same thing on the new tires. Same chewed or tearing up look. We took it to audi. We had the goodyear eagle sport all season tires. They changed the tires again. Then same issue again about 1500k miles. So finally the gm placed new set of pirelli tires on all 4 tires. Now it's only about 1500k miles still doing the same on the new sets of tires. Audi claims that there's no issues and blames its the road that we drive. We've never taken it off roading or any dirt roads. Only regular street roads. A friend of ours that works a local tire shop and he says it's an alignment issue. I'm not sure if audi have looked at their specs on the alignment and maybe off on the numbers. We also filed a complaint with audi directly but they said they can't do anything for us. We also found out there's already a bulletin going on about the issue with the tires through audi. But still no recalls.
